(Broken and Damaged Product)
I bought this item for my daughter. It arrived in a damaged box with parts exposed. One of the parts on the changing table was smashed and not useable. I orded from Amazon because they had the best price. Doesn't mean much when the product is damaged. It's not worth the trouble to return it. I will not buy from this vendor again. Shoppers be ware!!!

(Veggie Life Vitality chicken wraps&sweetpotato)
I love this product it has vitamins added for healthy skin&coat, it's natural and it's something my dog loves. It's a little on the big side so I cut them up so she gets a small bite here and there, a little on the high side for cost, but I haven't found anything out there yet with the benefits and combo of the chix&sweetpotato out there, I will continue to purchase from this company.

(OK video, wish I had previewed it first before buying)

(wonderful!!!)

(Another Kid's Songs Winner!!)

(Good, would recommend)

(AN OUTSTANDING KNOCKOUT KIDS DVD)
I bought this for my two year old because she loves music and loves to dance. I played it a few times and she still doesn't get into it. I don't know if maybe she's just too young for this. The music and the dancing and the quality of the video is just so-so. The ones she really loves to watch is the HBO Classical Baby series, and I also picked up a cheap DVD from Target that's from Baby Genius and she has watched that one almost every single day. If she's not dancing to it, she just likes to have it on in the background to listen to it. This DVD of kid songs is probably more appropriate for older kids.
5 Grandkids started watching at 6 months! They all love Kidsongs!! I even like them. The songs are the ones I learned when I was young. Some of my grandkids are in their teens now and still enjoy watching with the younger ones.
I am really enjoying the Kid's Songs series. I was not sure about this one so I read the reviews. They were right!! The movie totally captures the children's attention. I have age 4 months to age 5 enrolled at my daycare. They were all enjoying the music and very colorful outfits.
My 22 month old loves this DVD. The first time we watched it she made me hit repeat on a couple of the songs. The production quality isn't amazing (looks like a couple semi professionals taped the kids dancing all over their town); but the kids are cute, the costumes are adorable and it gets my kid up and dancing. It isn't instructional with a step by step dance lesson, but my kid wouldn't follow that anyway. There is a bonus track/promotion at the end which has short clips from their other (maybe 5 or so?) DVD's...we watch those too. I would buy another one of these. It's worth the money.
Good Bye Barney, So Long Sesame Street. Give me more of Kidsongs I can Dance. The reviewer who was negative because the Kids were not professional dancers misses the point entirely. He is totally off the wall. First of all, the songs are fantastic. The songs represent whole decades of music and dance in America. The moves done by the Kids on the DVD are the classic moves developed over decades of American dance. Your children will learn many, many wonderful dance moves by watching and participating with this DVD. Moreover, the songs are just clean fun. It is soooo, soooo important to introduce Kids to these songs before they are affected negatively by Rap and Break Dancing. The children who dance on this DVD are so wonderful, so lovely, having soooo much fun. That is what all of us desire for our children. Good clean fun. American fun. Wholesome fun. And all you need is a DVD player, and good speakers, and you are off to the races. My son and I go crazy over this DVD. He is 2.5yo and he is learning all sorts of moves from this DVD. He is fixated by the lovely kids, boys and girls dancing together in a sweet manner, the great music rhythms of prior decades, and the wonderful costumes that change for each song. I cannot speak highly enough of this DVD. It is a BARGAIN at three times the price. I will purchase all of the DVDs from this company. We need to encourage such a company to produce more. Goodby Barney and GoodBye Sesame Street. Hello Kidsongs.
Join the Kidsongs Kids and the Biggles and learn some new dance moves with this upbeat kids' dance video. You'll be doing the Charleston, the Twist, and the Waltz, not to mention forming a Conga line and Barefootin' at the beach. Put on your cowboy boots for a line dance, jitterbug at a '50s diner, and rock it out on main street in this sing along dance-athon with tunes like "Twist and Shout," "Mashed Potato Time," "The Yellow Rose of Texas," and more!

(Raffi in Concert)

(A great DVD for children)

(A gentle soul, appropriate for all ages)

(Something old, new again!)

(Lots of entertainment for a small child)
If you want to get your kids interested in music, this is probably the best ways to start. An absolutely fantastic video (or now DVD).

This purchase is to replace the old VHS tape we had. The only gripe is that the quality of the image is 1990's.

I bought this DVD for a young person for Christmas. He was thrilled with it. I love Raffi's easy way with kids. He never speaks down to them. His music is interesting and fun. The DVD is very well done.

Raffi is the type of person who just wants every child in this world to be happy. He delights everyone with his infectious songs and warmth, no matter what the age. I never mind sitting down to watch with my toddlers because I actually LIKE the songs, just as much as they do. We also listen to the CDs which helps them know the words. This was made in the 80s so the audience members have clothes that are a bit dated, but it matters not at all. Your kids will love him. No cartoon images, and no sudden camera movements.
When our God-child was very young his mom purchased this item in the form of a video tape. This young man is now 21 years old. After hearing it I was hooked and have continued to introduce it to many youngsters. This past Christmas season my husband and I gave the DVD to both of our new grandsons. They will surely enjoy the gift that Raffi offers to his audience.
This DVD was wonderful for my little sister who is 2! She thouroughly enjoyed every second of it and it kept her very occupied!
Concert performances of children's songs.
Genre:Music Video - Pop/Rock
Rating:NR
Release Date:20-SEP-2005
Media Type:DVD

This first filmed concert by Raffi illustrates his immense charm. The soft-spoken singer leads his turquoise-clad, four-member band through 20 songs with a rapt audience of kids and parents singing along. Raffi's easy manner and fluid vocals create an atmosphere that is very welcoming to youngsters, easily going from cute songs ("Apples and Bananas") to popular songs ("Day O") to a Spanish number ("De Colores") without ever losing them. The video also captures another key element of Raffi's success--his gaze is always inviting. The songs (also available on CD) include Raffi favorites "Everything Grows" and "Baby Beluga" and lots of standards. A wonderful time for ages 2-10 and adults.--Doug Thomas

(Dorsey rules!)

(It's Unbelievable How Music Could Be This Good)

(Tommy Dorsey -Best All Around Dance Band!)

(Great sound quality, superb music)

(absolutely marvellous!)
Everyone thinks of Miller and Goodman when Big Bands are brought up, but the Dorseys ruled. "Opus One" is the best known classic, but by far one the best songs ever from that era is "The Music Goes 'Round and 'Round" it's a classic, funny song, reminding us all of our prejudices and foibles. There is a great humor to Tommy Dorsey, lacking in some of the others, and well worth listening to, to understand another facet of the era of Big Bands.
The Dorsey brothers and Glen Miller were the greatest musicians of the World War II era. They kept so much of the public entertained during the war and gave so many Americans (and their allies) hope. Not even Joan Baez and Bob Dillan and their anti-Vietnam War songs are this good. This music is much better than the garbage that people call music today.
The Dorsey band could do everything. The hottest Swing and the smoothest ballads and the liveliest pops and novelties. His band was every inch as good as The Miller, Goodman and Shaw bands and at times, even better!

Dorsey had several bands and his pre 1940 band is very different than his band of 1940 - 1946. The '40s band had a more dynamic sound to it, especially in the Swing instrumentals! Plus...all those great vocalists - Frank Sinatra, Jo Stafford, Connie Haines and the Pied Pipers vocal group, not to mention Dick Haymes, Stuart Foster and the great Clark Sisters aka The Sentimentalists.

The recordings on the CD above are a mixture of 'both' of TD's band of the era.

All the sides on the CD are choice and the only reason I have rated the CD 4 stars out of 5 is because my 'personal best' are not all on there!

And with all due respect to the reviewer below, the version of "Opus One" on this CD *is* the original 1944 recording when TD was featuring a big string section in his band. "Inferior"? No such way.

*For more by me on the Dorsey band, click on the link below-
http://www.jazzitude.com/bldorseya.htm

So many "greatest hits" compilations miss the mark either in quality or song selection. But this disc lives up to its billing as the "Best" of the Dorsey orchestra. It kicks off with one of the stellar and swingiest tunes of the Big Band era, "Opus Number One" (though this version is inferior to the more famous "single" version). It's hard to listen to this song and not appreciate the brilliant arrangement and musicianship displayed here. Along with Goodman's "Sing, Sing Sing" and Glenn Miller's "In the Mood" this has got to be in the top three of any Big Band all-time greatest list.

It's a pity that Dorsey has been somewhat forgotten today and shoved aside in preference of Benny, Glenn and Artie. Was he as good as those giants? No, but this disc shows that his band could swing, had a phenomenal young vocalist named Sinatra and that Tommy's trombone playing wasn't half bad. This is a must have album for anyone serious about the Big Band era.
They're all here, his big hits and some more:"Opus one","Indian Summer"and of course"Song of India", and they were songs to get us through a very dark decade. And we thank English radio broadcasting for bringing these tunes to a country where German Schlagers were all over the airwaves in the early 40's. If you loved these tunes by Tommy Dorsey then, you'll find the sound on this CD just wonderful. Bittersweet memories of friendship, our country united in a struggle against a huge enemy, and finally resisting occupation so that our children could enjoy that awful music called rock&roll in the 50's... Only kidding, some of the rock stuff was endurable, but nothing can beat the beat of a real big band like Tommy Dorsey's!

(New Tapper's Delight)

(Land Of The Sweet Taps)
This is an excellent no frills video for ages 4 years to adult. It is not available on DVD. Basic tap steps are explained and demonstrated clearly in a dance studio class setting. The teacher demonstrates the steps and the students then practice with the music. You and your little dancer will want to join them. Our six-year-old wanted to use the video to practice even before doing homework. The songs help maintain interest and make the steps easy to learn, remember and practice. One warning-- you will find the tunes rattling around in your head after a few practice sessions.

A child can easily use this video to develop a strong foundation for future dance class experiences. We use the video to reinforce and build on what is being taught in a once a week tap class. Our six-year-old practiced with the tape just three or four times before her first tap class yet she had picked up enough for her teacher to ask if she had taken lessons before.

I've set through many dance classes with two little girls and know how difficult it is for a nondancing adult to help a young child practice at home. Young children often find it difficult to remember what was taught in class and cannot practice alone. This tape helps bridge the gap.

I have not been able to find the Sweet Taps cd or audio cassette, but would love to have it. I also purchased the Dancing for Kids DVD with Rosemary Borass. The Tot Tap class uses the same music featured so prominently in Land of Sweet Taps. The basic steps are taught but the combinations are simplified for working with younger children. For beginning tappers, Land of Sweet Taps is more comprehensive and older children will find it more challenging. Younger children will be able to grow into Sweet Taps. A good buy.

This is an excellent instructional video. It seemed a bit hokey to me at first. My dance students LOVE the Sweet Taps music and steps. It makes tapping simple and fun for the young student. If you buy the video be sure to buy the CD too so you can incorporate this in your lesson plan.

(Must see movie)

(Being there.)

(Uncut Dvd Please!!!)

(Please release it on DVD!)

(One of the greatest cavalry charges ever)
This is one of the most exciting war time epics I have ever seen. Visually stunning with a memorable score by Mario Millo. This is the true story of the last mounted charge in history. Australian Lighthorsemen attack the German-Turkish stronghold at Beersheba during World War One. Excellent in every way, and one of the most exciting charge sequences ever committed to film.
While I love this movie, I don't think it is as good as the Aussie classic,`Gallipoli'. Having said that, it holds a very special place in my heart.

When `The Lighthorsemen' premiered in Australia in I think, 1988, I was in the process of interviewing a dozen or so local First World War veterans (they are all gone now). One, Douglas Ellibank-Murray, rode with the 12th Lighthorse Regiment during WW1 and participated in the charge at Beersheba. He told a fascinating tale of his time with the 12th after having enlisted as a young drover (cowboy), along with his horse.

While Doug` was happy to speak about his service and the assault on Beersheba in particular, he would not talk about what happened when the Aussies reached the Turkish trenches. This, despite my persistent if gentle probing. I suspect that things happened there that Doug` wanted left alone. There has been talk of Turkish soldiers having `surrendered' then firing on the Australians. It has been reported that some arbitary executions were carried out in response.

One of my life's greatest pleasure was to accompany Doug to the movie's local premier where he was, of course, guest of honour. While quite frail, he appreciated all the attention, especially from the young ladies present. He was still a charming and quite handsome man, not unlike the 19 year old, blue eyed and blonde haired drover who had enlisted back in 1915.

I watched Doug closely out of the corner of my eye throughout `The Lighthorsemen' and the only time he appeared to become animated was when the actual charge was underway; he was moving about quite a bit and I suspect, he was there again.

After the movie, Doug offered a number of technical comments including the fact that the Turkish trenches were inaccurately portrayed as relatively straight, when in fact they were of saw-tooth construction.

The fate of the `whalers' (the name given to the horses, most of who had come from the AUSTRALIAN State of New South Wales). Many were in fact `put down' rather than end up pulling a `gypoe's' (Egyptian) cart in downtown Cairo. Doug was in a bit of a state worrying about what would happen to his own beloved horse until approached by a Britsh officer who had admired the horse and wanted to take it to his next posting in India to be used as a polo pony.

After assessing the `Pommy' officer and his handling of the horse, Doug agreed. The officer wrote to Doug for many years telling him about the horse which was eventually retired and died of old age in India.

Doug Ellibank-Murray was a lovely man and then a living legend of that famous day in October 1917.

This film has long been a favorite for me, even without the 15 minutes an earlier reviewer described. There is no excuse for a beautifully filmed movie such as this not to be available on dvd in its entirety.
This film needs to be released on DVD with anamorphic widescreen treatment. I'm so tired of waiting for it.
As many other reviewers have pointed out this is a fantastic film and one that should be seen by anyone interested in horses in wartime. The real issue is how to see it at it's best. If you want to see all of it the only choice is the American release on laser disc. This is in the full original widescreen of 2.35:1, but of course has analogue video and on the big screen it is quite grainy. The recent Australian release on DVD is a disgrace. It has good digital video but is cut to 1.78:1 and critical parts of the film are of course cut off. They have minimised this slightly by opening up the top and bottom a little so I suppose the actual cut may be nearer 1.85:1 but the grand vistas REQUIRE the full 2.35:1. The famous charge looks ridiculous at the cut back ratio. One can only hope that whoever has the rights to this film in the US will do the right thing and give us a deluxe full size release as soon as possible. I am sticking to my LD despite it's shortcomings. The Australian DVD will be better than tape but whoever decided to issue it in such a truncated version should be ashamed of himself.

(Pajama Game- Musical Lover)

(Great Entertainment)

(Widescreen version)

(Doris under $2 on dvd Whats not to like?)

(Don't buy!)
I am a lover of Musicals and Pajama Game has one of the highest energy and great music as most of the musicals of that time. I think anyone who is an "oldtime" musical lover would enjoy this musical as well as any high school theater teacher looking for a musical suitable to perform.
Overall I am not a Doris Day Fan but I bought this because of John Raitt who as far as I know made no other films. The music and dance was great, and I am sorry that this quality of musical productions have not been continued. During the past few months I have purchased some hundreds of dollars of musicals. Some I would not keep in my library but this one I most certainly will.
This is a double-sided DVD, with the 3:4 version on one side (with the left and right sides of the picture chopped off, as you would expect) and the 16:9 (widescreen) version on the other. To make the widescreen version completely fill a 16:9 HDTV display, they chopped off the top and bottom of the frame. Arrgh. It would be nice for the next release (Blu-Ray?) to show the movie as originally shown, without anything cropped out. Which would leave modest bars on the left and the right.
Not bad for Doris in a Musical Under $2. Alot of fun for a little price! Worth the look. Or if you want to be real cheap see if your library owns a copy!
One of the greatest musicals of all times - fast moving, fresh, daring, unbelievable camerawork and choreography but don't buy this edition. The wide screen version is missing and the print is poor!
Labor and management at the Sleeptite Pajama Factory aren't getting much sleep lately: a proposed 7-1/2-cent hourly wage increase is the reason and a job ac
