customer 's review (I love it but...)
(Great for baby clothes and bedding!)
(Horrible)
(Smell SO good!)
(Worth every penny!) It is $4 dollars more expensive here than at the online drugstore - plus, shipping here was going to be $7... Forget it, great product but, I'll get it elsewhere! I couldn't disagree with the previous reviewer. I love Caldrea's Sweet Pea laundry detergent. It's designed to be used for baby and children's items, and always leaves my baby's clothes and bedding clean and smelling fresh with a very lightly sweet scent. I find comfort in knowing that the ingredients are all natural and safe for baby. Some dark or bright stains require further attention than just a throw in the wash, but otherwise I've been very happy with this product. If you do any kind of physical activity in your clothes to where you sweat, this product WILL NOT get the smell out. In fact, count on your towels and other washed items to take on a funky smell if you continue to use this stuff. Although some of their other products are effective, Caldrea's environmentally friendly attempt at laundry detergent fails. I love this stuff. It smells great. Definitely use fabric softener when you use it with towels. I can't beleive I'm spending this much for 64 oz of laundry detergent, but I'll do so gladly again and again! This was given to me as a gift and the scent is so lovely I had to go online and order more. I use it for all my son's clothes, my unmentionables and on occasion our bedsheets for a treat. The stain remover is also great and I will buy that once mine has run out. Do keep in mind that it is a high efficiency detergent for high efficiency machines, so you don't have to use very much for a load. Formulated especially for babies, Caldrea's Sweet Pea Laundry Detergent keeps your whites white and your brights bright while still being the gentle detergent you want for your little one. This specially formulated laundry liquid made of plant-derived surfactants is non-toxic, biodegradable and completely free of phosphates -- but what's more, it works! Borax keeps clothes and linens looking their best, while essential oils give them a fresh scent that will linger for days. Rerations < Caldrea Sweet Pea Laundry Detergent >

(Get it for mainly the bonus footage...)
(Sweet Home Alabama: The rock palast Collection)
(LYNYRD SKYNRYD "SWEET HOME ALABAMA" DVD) Love this DVD - Good to have old footage although sound quality is not good. Concert footage good.Gary Rossington, Billy Powell, Leon Wilkeson original members with Ronnies Brother on lead vocals and Rickey Medlocke linked to the original band.Gives them some authenticity. they do a good job of the classic skynryd tracks. They were the greatest band cut down in their prime. Like Hendrix one can only imagine the type of stuff they had left to do. This DVD is a great look at the band when they picked up the pieces and carried on after the crash. You can tell that Gary Rossington still has so much in him left to give. His guitar solo, as well as the other guitarist is phenominal to say the least! I highly recommend this product, and consider it a "must have" for Lynyrd Skynyrd fans! The main concert featured on this DVD is pretty good, but some of the performances from some of the band members are a little off. The two main redeeming highlights of the main concert with the more contemporary lineup is them performing "Workin' For MCA" (which they no longer could do once they signed to CMC) and the cool guitar solos performed in series by the three guitarists. The band's performance on the Lyve From Steel Town DVD is flawless, and overall I recommend that one over this one if you don't want to get both. However, I encourage you to get both, because several songs on this DVD do not appear on the Steel Town DVD because the latter was recorded shortly after their awesome "Twenty" album was released, so several of their old numbers were replaced with material from "Twenty."
The best thing about this DVD, of course, is the vintage footage of the old Lynyrd Skynyrd with Ronnie, Ed King, et al performing back in 1974. The sound quality is predicatably bad, but not unbearably horrible like some bootleg VHS recordings you can find on ebay. One cool part of that footage features Ed King doing a nice, melodic solo before the last verse of "Free Bird" that later was always occupied by Billy Powell--interesting--never heard a live version of Free Bird without Billy's solo. The only bad part (and it's just humorous rather than annoying) of this classic footage is Ed King singing harmony on "Sweet Home"--yikes! No wonder they got the Honkettes later on! :) I lovelly! Simple the best video of Lynyrd Skynyrd. Thank you for your attention,
Alcino Moreira Rio de Janeiro -Brasil THIS IS A WELCOME "SURPRISE" DVD FROM LYNYRD SKYNRD.THIS IS AN OUTSTANDING 14 SONG DVD, THAT WAS FILMED AT THE ROCKPALAST "LORELEY" FESTIVAL IN GERMANY, DURING 1996. IT WAS FILMED BEFORE A VERY LARGE, ENTHUSIASTIC CROWD. THE BAND IS GREAT, THE ATMOSPHERE IS GREAT, THE MUSIC IS GREAT, MAKING THIS ONE GREAT CONCERT DVD!!! YOU EVEN GET THE REBEL FLAG AS A BACKDROP.
They perform all their classics, plus you get a few rare ones, like "I ain't the one", the entire version of "double trouble" instead of the medley version, and "SWAMP MUSIC" (This is a great rarity for concert dvd's, It's a great song, it has a reference to the late Bluesman Son House - ..."when the hound dogs start barking, they sound like Son House singing the blues..."). These make this concert more special.
You get the line-up of Johnny Van Zant on Lead Vocals, Gary Rossington on guitar, Rickey Medlocke on guitar, and the late Hughie Thomossom on guitar, Billy Powell on keyboards, the late Leon Wilkeson on bass (this is another reason this dvd is special - it includes both Leon&Hughie who are both now deseased), Owen Hale on drums and Dale Kranz-Rossington and Carol Chase on backing vocals.
The "3 guitar" performances of Gary, Rickey, and Hughie are awesome!!! This was quite a team of guitar players. Just like Gary, Allen and Steve (or Ed), were an awesome team.
THE BONUS MATERIAL CONSISTS OF 3 SONGS: "WORKIN' FOR MCA", "FREEBIRD'AND "SWEET HOME ALABAMA". This was filmed in Hamburg, Germany during 1974. The line-up consists of Ronnie Van Zant on vocals, Ed King on guitar, Gary Rossington on guitar, Allen Collins on guitar, Billy Powell on keyboards, Leon Wilkeson on bass, and Bob Burns on drums.
NOTE - THIS BONUS MATERIAL IS SOMEWHAT "RAW" AND "UNPOLISHED", BUT IT IS VERY,VERY GOOD, ESPECIALLY FOR EARLY SKYNYRD FANS. I LOVE IT!!!
HOWEVER, IF YOU REALLY LIKE THIS BONUS MATERIAL OF THIS VERSION OF EARLY SKYNYRD, I RECOMMEND THE LYNYRD SKYNRYD "ROCK CASE STUDIES" DVD, BECAUSE IT CONTAINS MORE FOOTAGE OF THIS VERSION OF SKYNYRD, MORE FOOTAGE THAN THIS BONUS MATERIAL.
I LIKE ALL VERSIONS OF LYNYRD SKYNRYD, THE OLD SKYNYRD AND THE NEW SKYNYRD. THIS IS AN OUTSTANDING CONCERT DVD. IT even contains great liner notes included in the dvd package. YES, I RECOMMONED THIS CONCERT DVD!!! IT'S A GREAT ONE!!! Rerations < Sweet Home Alabama: The Rockpalast Collection >

(My son loves it but it repeats part of the "What Makes You Happy" Elmo's World video)
(gift for my nephew)
(Daughter loved it!!)
(Some clips duplicated) We have about 8 Elmo DVDs, and this one is by far the kids' favorite. They especially love the Dancing episode. My son loves the Elmo's world DVD's so we have a large collection of them. When I purchased this I did not realize that one of the three segments is the same as one of the segments in the "What Makes you Happy" Elmo's World DVD. Had I known that I probably would have purchased a different DVD with three segments that he does not already have. The segment that repeats itself is the dancing segment. Anyone with a child who loves Elmo's World knows that you'll end up watching the DVD's over and over again. He doesn't seem to mind seeing the same segment than twice in two videos, but it can drive me crazy. Other than that this is just as good as any of the other Elmo's World DVD's. I like that it introduces books since my son started watching this before he was interested in having us read him any of his books, and now he seems more interested in his books. I highly recommend it if your child likes Elmo. The DVD seems to be enjoyed by my nephew and was received from the vendor very quickly. Anything Elmo, and she is hooked. Well at least that's how it was for a LONG time. She's 3 now and little miss grown, but she really did get into all of the Elmo's World DVD's for a while. They kept her occupied, taught her a TON, and weren't all that annoying, as far as kids movies go. This is another great video, but we have an Elmo video titled "Things That Make Elmo Happy" or something like that, and the dancing or music is duplicated in that, which was kind of disappointing, but the video is still great. Everyone's favorite preschool monster demonstrates three activities in this compilation of some popular "Elmo's World" segments fromSesame Street. Joining him are segment regulars Dorothy the pet goldfish and Mr. Noodle, the lovable, bumbling adult stand-in for children, who makes mistakes but perseveres until he gets it right. In each episode, real children also take turns mastering the skill. In "Dancing," Elmo shows off his finesse at the flamenco and hula, while the children choose more free-form moves. (Elmo's monster friend Zoe also makes a cameo appearance.) In "Books," a boy and his father visit the library in search of dinosaur books. And in "Music," kids play the flute and violin, while Mr. Noodle is a little slow in learning to bang the drum. For parents who meant to tape the "Elmo's World" segments, but never quite did it, this 45-minute video is a lucky break. Primarily for ages 2-5, but Elmo fans of all ages will enjoy it.--Kimberly Heinrichs Movie DVD Rerations < Elmo's World >

(Elmocize is fantastic!)
(Kinda depends on what you want and need)
(Disappointed)
(Unfortunately My Little Also Likes it) This DVD was given to us as a hand me down and my daughter loves it! We watch it at least once a day and she would watch it more if I would let her. The acting isn't the best, but my daughter doesn't seem to be a film critic. She enjoys the music and is learning to hop, jump, about elbows and knees. It is great to get her up and moving and also has helped to boost her vocabulary. When my children were little we did Elmocize. Now I will be watching other peoples small children in my home, so I ordered the video on DVD. I'm glad I could still get it!!! I think part of the point of this was that exercise can be fun and doesn't have to be done exactly "right"--just get up and move! And in that sense, it works beautifully; my 2 1/2 year old is up and singing and dancing for the whole 30 minutes.
It's true that the moves are a little free form, but what do I expect for a toddler? (I don't WANT her to think that if she's not "perfect" it doesn't count! I want her to be happy to move her body to the music.) It's true that the workout in a chair woman probably doesn't make the bulk of her living singing. But she obviously loves to dance, loves kids, and inspires them to move with her so this video does exactly what it should do.
So why did I deduct one star? I, personally, don't enjoy those songs very much and since my daughter does I hear them a lot anyway. I will be recommending this product to parents looking for an excercise video for little ones, and I'll also give them fair warning that this isn't the one the whole family is likely to enjoy. I purchased this DVD for my three year old who is in love with Elmo. I thought that it would be a sort of excercise video that would have the kids dancing around and moving instead of just watching another Elmo video, that way she gets to see Elmo but she is not just sitting in front of the TV. However, while the characters do dance sometimes, they stand around and talk about excercising more than actually doing anything. Essentially, the kids are just sitting watching another video. I bought this at a local thrift store which was great because it was cheap! From the moment I played it I wasn't keen on it, but unfortunately my little one liked it. However, he does request it as much as he use to. After 4 or 5 months of it, he's done. Thank God! I think he was just happy to see Elmo more than anything. He really DIDN'T LIKE the segment with the carton catapillar (with German accent) singing to get kids to stretch. He would shout "NO! NO! NO!) and make me fast forward it. It was great seeing Cyndi Lauper twisting and trying to do a cabana routine. Pure silliness! My advice, avoid it, but good overall message about exercising. Movie DVD With an emphasis on the good feelings that go with fitness, this program is set at Elmo's exercise camp and features kids and Muppets bending, stretching, and generally getting more fit. Cyndi Lauper is the appealing guest star, the banter between Muppets is funny, and songs include "Workout in a Chair" and "Do the Benny Hop."--Tom Keogh Rerations < Sesame Street - Elmocize >

customer 's review (mermaid lovers unite!) OK, if you are a fan of "The Little Mermaid" Disney movie or Anime or just mermaid movies in general then you gotta get this! You will LOVE this. The similiarities between the Disney movie and this are quite obvious. The also obvious thing is this 30 minute movie was made in 1984! Where as Disney's mermaid movie came out in 1989-1990. So this is more of an original. The story centers around a young, adorable mergirl with 4 sea-esque friends and oh yeah, she's a princess too. The animation was made from Japanese animators, so the visuals are awesome and very detailed! I LOVED IT!!! A sea-witch wants control of the sea kingdom ( sounds familair?), and she has her squid henchman grab it while the mergirl is doing her dance performance. To the make the story shorter, the good guys (or should I say GIRLS win and every thing is La-Di-Da!! :) GET IT, it's a rare find, and worth the money. Based off the popular doll i will never forget playing with it in the bathtub, and the movie is even better!! Very enjoyable.

customer 's review (A great video for winding down!) My 2 and 1/2-year-old son has a hard time winding down for bedtime some nights, and we offer this as a special treat after his bath on those days. Each story (there are 5 short ones, total less than 30 minutes)is preceded by a gentle song, and the vignettes are sweet and calm. Spot has fun with his parents, his friends, his toys, in the garden, and at storytime. Lots of examples of consideration for others and a nice attitude toward one's parents, presented quietly to make this a great bedtime or naptime prelude. Rerations < Sweet Dreams Spot [VHS] >

(A truly great, no nonsense movie!)
("AN APPLE MADE OF ARSENIC.")
(smart, sharp, thrilling, and made me shiver)
(Holy Crap!!) The Bottom Line:
I'm not sure the ending strikes the right note, but even with a little hiccup Sweet Smell of Success is a fascinating study of human greed and cruelty that is extraordinarily frank and biting for a movie from the 1950s (or any era really); add in a pair of terrific performances by Curtis and Lancaster and it's a heckuva film. The very first movies, relied upon exaggerated acting and the actors' good looks. Then, along came the 'talkies' - and voices assumed great importance. With the advent of 'talkies' came the necessity to tell a good story - cinematically. Today, the emphasis is all on 'special effects', 'shock value', 'sex, and foul language.
For a relatively brief period between the coming of talkies and the modern cinematographic masterpieces, there was a halcyon period where excellently acted and expertly directed films were made of exceptionally good stories - often based on first rate novels.
'The Sweet Smell of Success' is one such movie. The actors are highly competent, the acting is superb, the story is great and the direction is first rate. 'The Sweet Smell of Success' comes together exceptionally well and is a first rate movie in all respects.
I would recommend it to anyone who wishes first rate entertainment. One of the problems with studying in film school, being a movie buff and getting older is that at some point in ones' life a man ventures into the video store, peruses the shelves and reaches the conclusion that he has seen every movie worth seeing. I thought I was getting there until a few years ago when I heard about and checked out "The Sweet Smell of Success". It was like that with "Chinatown", which I never saw until the 1990s and now consider one of the best films ever. "Sweet Smell of Success" holds up totally even though it is black-white, set in 1957. Burt Lancaster is J.J., based on Walter Winchell, who was a leading accuser of Communists in the media. Tony Curtis is a lackey publicist who lives on the whim of those who pay him to place items in various columns, which means he must grovel at the feet of clients and columnists. J.J. plays him like a fiddle. This has lines so vitriolic and perfect, Frank Manciewics in "All About Eve" is no more biting, and Bette Davis in "Eve" bites with the best of 'em. Lancaster just fills the screen with irony and sardonic, hurtful wit. Curtis fends it off with skill, it is like a fencing match. Anybody who has any desire to study dialogue must watch and memorize this. Everything is tremendous; the acting, the directing, the score, the noir shadows of New York at night. The music is unreal, lots of horns, filling the room with its wailing sobs of a corrupt, naked city. A love story between J.J.'s little sis and a musician (Martin Milner I think, who was in "Adam 12"), is the heart of the story. It is the one true, good thing, but J.J. is a monster. Perhaps Bob Towne had this in mind when he cast John Huston to be an incestuos father in "Chinatown". The inference, being the '50s, is much more subtle but it seems J.J. has the hots for sis and wants nobody to have her. He brands the musician a Commie, using sycophant secondary journalists to keep his own hands clean. Any chance for this dark one to have a happy ending goes down the tubes when sis, as much to torment her bro, kills herself. Curtis is utterly ammoral. His picture appears in Webster's next to the word ammoral. Many films have played off this theme. "Swimming With Sharks" (1996, Kevin Spacey, Frank Whaley) comes to mind. If this could be 20 stars I'd give it 20. I watched this film several months ago, and still the characters stand out sharply in my mind. Tony Curtis plays Sid Falco marvelously, as a man whose mind is quick with an excuse, an accusation, a bit of flattery, whatever the occasion calls for; this is a small, slick man, swimming around the ankles of larger and more powerful men. He knows he's an unscrupulous guy, but wants to work his way up the food chain. Sometimes you think he cares about going too far in his pursuit of fame and wealth - Curtis gives Falco moments of blank pause, expressions of troubled calculation - but he goes ahead anyway with every dirty plot he thinks will serve him well. As the cold colossus J.J. Hunsecker, Burt Lancaster seriously gave me chills; he delivers a brilliant and well-controlled performance. He's sharp and clean, with his powerful stature, squared jaw, and steely glasses; his speech is quiet and precise, and even his little gestures seem to send ripples through the room. I also quite enjoyed Susan Harrison as his sister, Susan, who's winsome and worn down, but still firm enough to try and get out from under her older brother's thumb; I liked how even though she's nineteen, she's got old, tired eyes, an older spirit.
I loved the screaming bright lights and deep shadows of New York City, the energy that ran through the film in electric currents. I enjoyed peering into every bar and jazz club and seedy room that Sid Falco pops up in. I liked how Susan and her beau, a steady and honest jazz musician, seem to speak in clear, round tones while Falco's and Hunsecker's dialogue comes out in a sharp patter, full of quick sharp stabs and quiet turns of the knife. Amidst the poisonous words, the lies and slander, the jibes and jokes that lead to uneasy laughter, you wait and watch for someone with integrity to (hopefully) prevail. I loved how the film shows us the power of words (even just a few words) wielded effectively, whether for good or - in a lot of cases - for the purpose of destroying people. I always sort of put off seeing this even though I've heard good things about it. I think it was because Tony Curtis is in it and the only thing I've ever seen him do were really bad introductions to some Alfred Hitchcock DVDs. In those introductions, Curtis fumbled his lines (which were often filled with errors) and so I assumed he was the worst actor in the world. I should kick myself.
This movie is not only one of the best "noir" films I've seen but one of the best movies I've ever seen PERIOD.
It's included in the noir category despite it not being a crime drama at all. The reason for this is it's shadow-filled cinematography and its theme of corruption. According to this movie, human beings are bleak, cold-hearted creatures.
It's about a Broadway columnist (played by Burt Lancaster in one of his best roles) who manipulates everyone he comes in contact with. He is one of the vilest, cold-hearted bastards I've ever seen in a movie because he's just so real. This isn't a noir hit-man in a fedora hat. This guy could be real and I'm sure some of us have met or will meet someone like him. Tony Curtis plays a bastard publicity agent though you sort of feel bad for him even despite his faults. He's the "protagonist" and we are told the story through his eyes. There are a couple of characters who have integrity and are not so corrupted but they only count as victims of the manipulation.
The acting is top-notch. Both Lancaster and Curtis had me in awe throughout the whole movie. Usually movies about "show business" don't interest me all that much but this movie was fascinating. This is dark look at NYC life in the 1950s. I recommend it with every noir-loving bone in my body.
J.J. Hunsecker the most powerful newspaper columnist in new york is determined to prevent his sister from marrying steve dallas Studio: Tcfhe/mgm Release Date: 08/20/2002 Starring: Burt Lancaster Susan Harrison Run time: 96 minutes Rating: Nr Director: Alexander Mackendrick A classic of the late 1950s, this film looks at the string-pulling behind-the-scenes action between desperate press agent Sidney Falco (Tony Curtis) and the ultimate power broker in that long-ago show-biz Manhattan: gossip columnist J.J. Hunsecker (Burt Lancaster). Written by Ernest Lehman and Clifford Odets (who based the Hunsecker character on the similarly brutal and power-mad Walter Winchell), the film follows Falco's attempts to promote a client through Hunsecker's column--until he is forced to make a deal with the devil and help Hunsecker ruin a jazz musician who has the nerve to date Hunsecker's sister. Director Alexander MacKendrick and cinematographer James Wong Howe, shooting on location mostly at night, capture this New York demimonde in silky black and white, in which neon and shadows share a scarily symbiotic relationship--a near-match for the poisonous give-and-take between the edgy Curtis and the dismissive Lancaster.--Marshall Fine Rerations < Sweet Smell of Success >

(Ever had a really Bad Date?)
(A lot sweeter than it looks... (3 1/2 stars))
(Cute show and filmed in our home state)
(Frothy love story mixed with disabilities and multiculturalism) I saw the new Star Trek a couple weeks ago and it was awesome. I believe Chris Pine will become famous now because of it. So i went and checked out his few other movies. Princess Diaries 2 and Just My Luck were ok but im not into the Disney type. Then I bought Blind Dating and was glad i did. It is a very cute movie that has heart. Its funny, cute, and sad. I found myself laughing at parts and then tearing up later. Danny (Chris Pine) is a 22yr old blind man that goes on many blind dates to find a nice girl. Its also about how he deals with being blind. Eddie Kaye Thomas plays his brother, and Jane Seymour plays his psychiatrist. Both are believeable and great for their parts. Chris Pine is the best part of this movie and very talented in this role. I'm glad I got this movie because its a nice little movie that I will watch again and again. You know, you don't have to be blind to enjoy this film. If you ever were on a date where you looked at the person and wondered "If I gave you a hundred dollars would you go away forever?" You would enjoy this film. By the look of the DVD cover, or the poster, you would think this was a take-off on American Pie or something, especially with Eddie Kaye Thomas in it. It's not campy or tasteless, but actually a nice story.
Danny was blind from birth, and he has a lot going for him. Great personality, great looks, but he doesn't have a woman to share it with. With the help of his brother Larry, he goes on a few (slightly overacted) dates. But, he really likes the receptionist at his doctor's office, Leeza. Danny is being tested to participate in an experimental brain operation so he can see again. But, not that many have been performed. Even though he's comfortable in his own skin, he is tired of women feeling sorry for him because he is blind. So, he is thinking of getting that operation.
Meanwhile, Leeza has a secret. Though Danny doesn't know she is Indian, and doesn't really care, she has an arranged marriage coming up, but she's confused about her feelings for her future husband. Can she break that promise to her family to be with Danny? Will she tell him that she is going to marry someone else?
It was a touching movie with some tear-jerker parts. There was also some obvious bad acting and writing as well, but not enough to stop me from watching it. I think what kept me watching was the character of Danny. I really liked him and felt that he was genuine, and I was rooting for him to "get the girl," as well.
Cute movie, good for a rental. This is a good movie. Well also I have family as extra's in it. As it was filmed right here In Utah.!!!! wtg Danny was born blind and he is now approaching his 21st birthday. He has a warm, supportive, loving Italian family. His brother owns a limousine that doubles as a bordello.
Danny thinks he is unattractive to women and with the help of his brother sets out to gain experience. This lays the groundwork for a series of comedic interactions with various women, all but one of whom consider Danny an object of pity. The one exception rejects Danny.
Danny's therapist keeps undressing in front of him, which loses its humor after the first time.
But, aha, there is an experimental surgical/scientific technique under consideration which could provide Danny with vision.
Mixed in with this is Danny's flirtation with the surgeon's assistant, an Indian girl. Sparks fly, romance blooms but is doomed for she is to be married to an Indian boy.
The story becomes a piece of how the cultures keep the lovers apart, the surgery and the inevitable, sugar-coated happy ending.
This is purely a feel good comedy of manners. It's fun, it's frothy and entertaining. Trying to mix in the heavy themes of Danny's unsighted life and the cultural gap between Indians and Americans works some of the time, but it doesn't add any weight or substance to the movie.
It's cute and enjoyable and nothing more.
Jerry Movie DVD A romantic comedy disguised as anAmerican Pie-type sex romp,Blind Datingtells the story of a sweet young blind man who falls for a woman who is engaged to be married. Hottie Chris Pine plays Danny, who has never had a serious girlfriend. His annoying but well-meaning brother Larry (Eddie Kaye Thomas,American Pie) is intent on helping Danny lose his virginity by hooking him up with several inappropriate women. Then there's Dr. Evans (Jane Seymour), Danny's unorthodox therapist who has the odd habit of undressing as he talks about his dates. Though the scenes are played for laughs, there's something inherently creepy about them since Dr. Evans clearly needs to take a class on boundaries.Blind Datinghas an uneven feel because it's trying to be too many things at the same time. It would've fared better had it concentrated less on Larry's shenanigans and more on the budding romance between Danny and Leeza (Anjali Jay), the receptionist at Danny's eye doctor's office. Because one of the central characters is blind, and another works for an optometrist, it is giving nothing away to say that part of the plot involves a surgical procedure that could potentially restore Danny's eyesight. It would've been nice to learn more about Leeza's Indian background; the film implies that the marriage her parents have arranged for her is a bad one (and it probably is). But it would've been interesting to see the family presented as more than caricatures. While not a great film,Blind Datinghas some sweet moments, courtesy of Pine and Jay.--Jae-Ha Kim Rerations < Blind Dating >

(Great price for moisturizing oil)
(No almond flavor.)
(Almond Oil)
(Almond Oil, Health To Skin) I've been using almond oil now for a few months and I am totally addicted. It absorbs into the skin pretty quickly and leaves my skin so soft afterwards. It doesn't take a lot so a 16 oz. bottle lasts me at least 4 months. I love it! I have used almond oil as a body and facial moisturizer for about two years now. It soaks in quickly, has no odor and does not leave a sticky residue on the skin. It is also a great massage oil. The price is less than half of what you would pay in a health food store. I keep it in a dark closet and it stays fresh. I pour it into smaller squeeze bottles for everyday use. The almond oil was stated to be of culinary quality. In contrast to other (more expensive) almond oils that I have purchased, this product lacked the subtle taste of almonds. I wouldn't purchase it again. This one has some odour so not fun to use it on the skin. OK for salads etc. Better product is from lorann oils I used the product as a all body (including face) moisturiser. The product lasts all day and gives my skin a radiant look. Almond oil is very cost effective. As simple as it gets for a man. Sweet Almond Oil Rerations < Sweet Almond Oil >

I HAVE BEEN GIVING MY SON ATTENTIVE CHILD SINCE OCTOBER AND I HAVE NOTICED MARKED DIFFERENCES IN HIS ABILITY TO FOCUS ON HIS ASSIGNMENTS. I JUST TELL HIM THEY ARE VITAMINS AND GIVE THEM TO HIM BEFORE SCHOOL. THEY TASTE GOOD. I DID NEED TO INCREASE FROM ONE TO TWO WAFERS IN DECEMBER BECAUSE OF HIS GROWTH SPURT. I AM TRULY PLEASED W/THE PRODUCT. WE DID NOT HAVE ANY SIDE AFFECTS, EXCEPT THAT I DO NOTICE THE DIFFERENCE IF I DON'T GIVE THEM TO HIM FOR TWO DAYS IN A ROW. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT! This product works well for inattentive children. My son had difficulty finishing his work in class and being distracted by others finishing/talking. Homework took forever. He takes this product plus Omega 3(GNC or Dr. Sears has some wonderful chewable versions that taste good)daily with breakfast. This product is chewable and does not taste bad. He hardly ever brings homework home anymore, A honor roll, and his teacher has noticed a huge difference for the better. When I went for his teacher conference she said, "I have nothing to say to you other than he's doing great, keep doing whatever you're doing, he's got all A's." We have been very pleased and notice a immediate difference if we ever forget to have him take it. It needs to be taken daily and on the weekends to keep the levels consistent. I would highly recommend it! My 13 year old daughter had been on Strattera for almost 2 years to deal with her ADHD. During that time she was subject to mood swings, poor sleep, and lack of appetite. It was almost as if she suffered from depression. I spent several weeks researching more natural remedies, and after a friend recommended this product, I did the research and tried it. The results have been nothing short of wonderful. My daughter has established regular sleeping habits now, eats regular meals, and is performing just as well if not better in school. Best of all, the mood swings are gone! Highly Recommended. This seems to help over time. I think the key is to take it for 3-4 months and then make a judgement. My son has taken it for about 6 months. Amazon has great prices on it. This product does work. My son was diagnosed with mild ADHD and the doctor suggested that we put him on medication. I am fearful of the many side effects that this medication has and sought a natural approach. My son has been taking these supplements for about 2 months and I really see a difference. Not only do I see a difference, but others who know him have commented that he seems more focused and less high strung. He actually sits through an entire meal and eats. I feel that this is the way to go for us. Attentive Child Rerations < Source Naturals Attentive Child, Chewable Wafers, Sweet&Tart , 120 chewable wafers >

customer 's review (Delicious) I first had these when I visited Greece several years ago. They're delicious. They're very light, and not overly sweet. Many fine hotels in Greece serve caprice wafers to their guests. Great with morning coffee or after dinner. Deliciously crisp and sweet.

(Problem with Melissa&Doug products)
(Wouldn't recommend)
(Excellent!) My 2 year old LOVES his M&D boxed puzzles. In addition to the actual putting together of the puzzles - He loves to sort by the shapes on the back indicating which puzzle the piece belongs as well as stack the pieces in the box. It is more than just a puzzle. I've bought several of their other deluxe four puzzle boxes and they each get equal play. So far everything has held up well to his play. Great product! My little one is 2 yrs 7 months and enjoys this puzzle. She needs 'scaffolding' to get through the puzzles or she'll get frustrated but then... she needs 'scaffolding' (constructive help/support/input) to eat lunch.
I like the cardboard Melissa and Doug puzzles a little better than the wood ones. I've had some wood flake off the bottom and the fit is sometimes a little tighter than my impatient toddler (and hubby) enjoy but... she loves dinosaurs, and I love puzzles as a way to have great 'reasoning' conversations with my little one and ... have fun! We have purchased many Melissa&Doug products such as this dinosaur one and a similar one with animals. We also have 2 of their large floor puzzles. The kids love them all and are great for young children. The problem is that they aren't well made. Some of the paper on the front of the pieces hasn't been totally glued on, so rips off. Also, both the wood&cardboard breaks pretty easily, so they don't last all that long. I received this, 2 of the puzzles were the same so I returned it. Regardless the shapes used to sort are very small and not super distinctive and I think difficult for a small child to decipher. These are fabulous- 4 colorful, durable wooden puzzles in one box. (Don't worry they put codes on the back so you know which pieces go with which puzzle). Our 2 1/2 year old played with them non stop for weeks and still loves them. Take learning to go with this prehistoric puzzle set. Compact and cleverly contained in a wooden storage case, these take-along dinosaur puzzles provide hours of creative fun.Case comes with four compartments, each holding a different 12-piece jigsaw puzzle. The removable, sliding wood tray top provides the perfect surface for puzzle-building fun. Delightful illustrations encourage young minds to solve the puzzle. Great for home, school or travel. (Bad Wheels?)
(Great scooter, just too short for adults over 5'9")
(Great scooter for kids, too!)
(Great scooter by Razon, great buy from Amazon) I bought this model of Razor to keep up with my kids. They have the standard original "A" models, which are low to the ground and relatively light in overall weight. The cruiser is heavier (maybe by @30%) and higher off the ground than the original. The larger wheels give it a somewhat smoother ride (although this could be attributed to it's spanking-new wheels). The deck is covered entirely with an anti-skid layer -- which is nice. Unlike other reviewers, I have no problem with it's "low" handlebars (and I'm 5' 11"). Plus, the deck board is "warped" by design, I assume, so that when you step on it, it flexes to a nearly-flat surface. Otherwise the deck would sag if it started in a perfectly horizontal position. Oh, and my kids can handle this too, even my 48-pound seven year old. The only drawbacks I can see with the wooden deck are the eventual dings and chips along the edge from curbs and such and the possiblility of moisture weakening the plywood over time. Probably need to keep this one out of the rain. It's a nice scooter; it rides well and is very fast. Not quite a xootr, but great for the price. However, the wheels that come with this thing is already starting to crack and fall apart. The front and back wheel already have big chunks of the wheel that fell off. The wheel makes a funny sound now when I ride. There are other cracks and it looks like other half-inch pieces of polyurethane is about to fall off. If this happens to the wheels in one week, it might be cheaper to just go with the xootr as I will be paying a lot of money to replace the wheel. I am around 150 lbs so am well below the 175 lbs limit on this. Otherwise, it's a good scooter; I just wish they had harder or more durable wheels (I ride in NYC). I got this scooter to save me a few mins walking to the bus station. I read one reviewer on here saying that the handlebars are too low for anyone over 5'6". I'm 5'11" but decided to give it a try anyway. I have to agree that the handlebars are too low for most adults. I would say 5'9" is the limit. The Razor Pro scooter has handle bars that are 3" higher, and I think that would be good for people up to 6' tall. As for the wood deck, that same reviewer said it came warped. The deck is bowed, but that is a part of the design. The deck will flex when you stand on it, so it was designed to bow upwards to compensate for the flex. The flex on the deck does make the ride smoother by helping to absorb some of the bumps. But I feel this flex also makes the ride feel less stable. Personally, I would prefer a solid metal deck. Overall, the scooter is well made and I would highly recommend it to anyone under 5'9" I bought this scooter for my son's 5th birthday. It looked large in the box, and my husband immediately took it out and rode it around the house - WOW! It is smooth and fast and fun. I was worried that it might be too big for my 34 lb 5 year old, as it was his first 2 wheeled scooter, but he was up and going immediately! This is great at the park - he can coast along the sidewalk forever without even kicking. The large platform is easy for him to balance on and the large wheels easily go over large sidewalk cracks and he even rode on some of the packed down winter grass! The handle bar easily adjusts up and down so my son and husband could take turns. I believe this to be the BEST scooter out there for riding! My son really is enjoying his Razor Wood Kick. It ha larger wheels than the traditional razor and wood board (platform) instead of metal for some added flexibility. The platform is a wider than a traditional razor and offers some flex for tricks and jumping. Shipping and costs were great and the items arrived within a week with the lowest cost shipping option.
Two Thumbs Up! Let your kid cruise the sidewalk in style with the Razor Sweet Pea Cruiser Scooter. Outfitted with a wide, flexible weight-absorbing wood deck and large 125 mm urethane wheels, the scooter is safe and easy to ride, with a patented rear fender brake helping the rider stay in control. The adjustable handlebars, meanwhile, accommodate riders of several different heights, so you needn't worry should your youngster undergo a growth spurt. Finally, the scooter's patented folding system breaks down in seconds, making it easy to carry the unit in the trunk of a car or on the city bus. Measuring 8.5 by 27 by 4 inches (W x H x D) and weighing 8.25 pounds, the scooter is designed for children ages 5 and older. Outfitted with a wide, flexible weight-absorbing wood deck and large 125mm urethane wheels, the Razor Cruiser kick scooter is reminiscent of a surfboard on wheels. It's designed with a fiberglass and wood deck, a wider riding area affording more foot space, and 140mm wheels (50 percent larger than the wheels of the original Razor scooter). Made just for girls, this Sweet Pea version of the Cruiser comes in a bright metallic pink color.

(fun toy)
(Chunky Puzzle) This product is ok as long as your kid is extremely gentle with toys. My son isn't, and the puzzle reflects that - lots of the edges/paint have chipped off. Good for calm children! When my daughter was a baby, we bought her the jungle animals puzzle and loved, loved it. They were painted all the way around and so smooth. These, however, have the color on the front only and have rough, chipboard-like sides exposed. I was sad, I have to admit. But, it's still cute. My 22 month old son loves this puzzle. The pieces are easy for him to pick up and he has learned to "adjust" each piece so it fits into its correct slot. I loved this toy for my child because it was not a choking hazard and it was really bright and colorful. my child enjoys playing with it and learning colors and about dinosaurs. Even the name is great. We use this for the puzzle and also trace around the pieces for fun times with crayons! This innovative puzzle features thick, chunky pieces that fit neatly into the puzzle board, and can also stand up to be used for pretend play. Remove each dinosaur piece to reveal a full-color picture underneath. Includes 7 dinosaur pieces. Measures 12" x 11" x 1". Rerations < Melissa&Doug Dinosaur Chunky Puzzle >

(They call me coach)
(Excellent insight)
(Inspiring glimpse into a master coach's life)
(Great advice from a Greater man) I loved the coach and his teams. Book is just a slow read, but interesting for those of us who witnessed his talented teams. Coach Wooden is the Monet of coaching. His philosophy and work ethic, both as a player and a coach, are unparalled. This book will instruct anyone on how to deal with adversity both on the court and in the game of life. Excellent book examining the life , philosophy and thoughts behind a great coach. Not just about basketball but good for anyone coaching any sport or anyone wanting insight to a great life. John Wooden is perhaps America's greatest coach. His UCLA basketball team won ten national championships, including seven in a row. Concomitant with winning was his insistence on character and virtue rather than getting caught up with results.
This autobiography is a fascinating glimpse into Wooden's extraordinary life. It chronicles his life as a player (many forget that Wooden was elected to the basketball hall-of-fame as a player and coach), his coaching days (mostly at UCLA), and a little bit about his activities after his retirement. Interspersed in all of this are Wooden's coaching philosophy, pictures, box scores of the national championship games, and Wooden's opinion on how to improve the quality of NCAA basketball.
They Call Me Coach is tremendous for any sports fan, especially basketball. It can also be enjoyed by those who enjoy reading about what it takes to achieve success. Wooden was not a dictator, but imparted his insistence on doing one's best to his players with meticulous detail.
TCMC is not a complete autobiography, and it omits many aspects of Wooden's life. It is certainly not a "tell-all" account, nor is it perhaps the best book on articulating Wooden's coaching philosophy. For that I would recommend another of Wooden's books, appropriately titled Wooden. There are also others out there.
They Call Me Coach is a wonderful account of a man who as achieved true life success, and you will enjoy this read regardless of your previous knowledge on Wooden or college basketball.
You can't miss with Wooden's thoughts, words and advice. If you're coaching yong people, he hits home lessons that every player and coach should know and understand. Even if you're just a parent or someone's business supervisor, read this book to learn how to better deal with and motivate those who rely on you for leadership. Don't let the coach down and pass these wonerful skills on to the next generation. Wooden's vision will live long past his coaching days. Find out all about it right here.
The critically acclaimed, classic autobiography of UCLA basketball's legendary coach"What Knute Rockne was to football, Connie Mack to baseball, and Wilbur and Orville Wright to flying, John Wooden is to basketball." --Los Angeles Times "They Call Me Coachis grassroots Americana, a story bigger than basketball. One of those rare sports books that is must reading for everyone." --Chicago Tribune Now featuring a great new look and a Foreword by hoop Hall of Famer Bill Walton, this classic bestselling sports bio by America's "winningest coach" is back. Still charming fans everywhere, college basketball legend John Wooden reflects on his record-breaking career, his inspired life behind the scenes, and how his top players went on to shape and change the NBA. With worldly wisdom, Wooden offers a very personal history of an unforgettable time in college basketball, answering the most-asked questions about his life, his career, and the players who made his team unbeatable. (Essential Information for the Aspiring Queen)
(Another boring rehash)
(Just didn't have the old magic)
(Very Funny) This was an entertaining book for sure, but I found that the book would change directions out of nowhere. I'm a true-blue Southern bred Sweet Potato Queen myself, so I understand how we Belles can ramble off a million different directions without so much as a moment's notice. That said, I wish the book had a little more continuity and relevance to topic. My hat's off to Jill though for this very funny but somewhat disjointed read, bless her heart. Chock full of valuable and knowledgeable advice about male and female foibles. The story about the "lip extender" had me laughing so hard there were tears pouring down my face. Shorter than the others, lamentably, what were you THINKING, Jill??? Yet another forum for the author to rehash the "good old days" give her wannabes their 15 minutes of fame. I don't understand why someone who is an inspirational speaker and talented writer would travel this path. My wife and I have loved the Sweet Potato Queen books from the beginning. Reading them together became something of a ritual for us. This book, however, left us both rather disappointed.
Jill Conner Browne is a very talented writer, no question about that, and her latest book did offer several laugh-out-loud moments. Her descriptions of the various types of men (and the women who are involved with them) was very funny. She devoted one brief chapter to explaining why "he" didn't call, which combined humor and down-home good sense as only the SPQ can do.
However, Conner-Browne's distinctive literary voice has changed over the years, and not for the better. In one chapter she goes on endlessly about her plastic surgery experience, from which she recuperates with a shopping spree. In another section, she describes her experience with acuptuncture, blissfully glossing over the expense of it. Previously, the SPQ came across as folksy and full of love-for-life. In discussing her high-priced indulgences, however, she comes across as spoiled and decadent. This kind of self-worshipping prattle distances her from those of us who don't have endless piles of money, and frankly makes her book less enjoyable to read.
Mind you, this doesn't mean that the latest SPQ book isn't worth reading. My wife and I agreed that we were both glad we read it. However, we also agreed that compared to the previous books in the series, it just wasn't as good. Another hit in the series. The wife just loved it. Highly recommended! If the Nobel committee offered awards in Gender Relations, the Sweet Potato Queens would have the prize all locked up. These fine ladies have devoted an absolutely inordinate amount of time to the pursuit of love, marriage, and great sex, and they’re just bursting to share their stories. Now their royal ringleader, bestselling author Jill Conner Browne, brings youThe Sweet Potato Queens’ Field Guide to Men, a hilarious (and highly instructive) handbook about the men we love to hate, and the ones we love to love, with special revelations about:
--Why he didn’t call --The sweetest revenge ever --The downright crazy things we will do for romance
Plus, memorable tales of Queenly dating adventures, the shameless lowdown on looking as young as you feel, and more royal recipes that are guaranteed to bring him home each and every night. Rerations < The Sweet Potato Queens' Field Guide to Men: Every Man I Love Is Either Married, Gay, or Dead >

(not for me)
("Here We Come/Walking Down the Street")
(This is flippin' hilarious!)
(Love Jill, but prefer her non-fiction) This book is just a funny as the Book of Love! I would recommend it to all who just wants some laughs. Sometimes we all just need some time to unwind and not take life so seriously! I like a good laugh, and this book had some. But it was also a bit too crass and unbelievable. I realize it's poking fun, but I can laugh without vulgarity having to be part of the mix. Jill Connor Browne is like the literary equivalent of the Monkees: what kind of author can't even write her own book? (with apologies to Mickey, Mike, Davey and Peter--that was merely a metaphor, so to speak; I know the guys really did play their own instruments...) I just find it hard to take that someone who spends so much time bragging about how her writing career just fell into her lap couldn't even muster enough creativity to write her own novel. And please don't blame poor Miss Gillespie--I feel the blame for this lazy concoction lies solely with Browne. The overall plot is boring; just incredibly predictable story-lines, slapped together with a few Southern expressions, some 80s references, a couple of recipes...and the word "sumbitch" gets thrown around all too often. Also, the ending of the book is downright disgusting, especially if you actually think about it for more than three seconds. I won't describe it, not because I care about giving anything away, but because it is vile. I won't say I'm not jealous, that someone has been given so much for doing so little, but again: does she have to gloat about it? Look at Browne's website, where she refuses to give out any of her recipes for free, insisting that everybody buy each one of her "books," along with all her other shoddy merchandise. This on top of the fact that her loyal fans seem to be the ones contributing all the material for her many projects anyway....while she gets the dough. Is that fair? As one other reviewer suggested, just get the book from the library. Heck, you could even photocopy all the precious, valuable recipes and hand them out to all the happy homemakers you know. Maybe together we can derail this so-called writer's career...let her stick with the parade. That at least sounds like fun, unlike this lousy excuse for a book. This is one of my all time favorite books! Read it (or listen to it)again and again! Jill Connor Browne is one of a kind....I wish there were more writers just like her! I am a HUGE fan of the SPQ series- to the extent that I can quote passages and my girlfriends and I dress up as Queens every St Pats Day. The novel just didn't do it for me. Seemed like a biography, was funny in parts, but draggy in others. I remain a huge Jill Conner Browne fan, but am feeling just so-so about this one. "I have no pride. I tell anything," Jill Conner Browne is fond of saying. As Her Royal Highness, Boss Queen of the Sweet Potato Queens?, she has told legions of fans, known as "SPQ Wannabes," her delectable secrets to living, loving -- and eating -- like a queen. In her words, "More is more." How much more? The #1 New York Times bestselling author of five works of nonfiction now serves up The Sweet Potato Queens' First Big-Ass Novel: Stuff We Didn't Actually Do, but Could Have, and May Yet. The humor in this uproarious coming-of-queen novel is more delicious than a favorite dessert (the Queens favor Chocolate Stuff?, of course). In Jackson, Mississippi, Mary Bennett, Patsy, Gerald, and Jill are high school classmates whose daily routine is paced like a shuffle through the local red dirt -- until the arrival of a redheaded newcomer banishes monotony forever. With her luxurious mane and voluptuous figure, Tammy Myers aspires to join the silver-spooners, who make things happen in their lives. When Jill convinces Tammy and the others that money might buy a certain kind of good time and that true friendship has no price tag, the "Sweet Potato Queens" are born. "If it ain't fun, we ain't doin' it," runs their official club motto, and the Queens are true to their word. Together, the Queens laugh out loud as they step down the long -- and not altogether pretty -- road toward making their very own queen dust, the sparkle that comes from livin' and lovin' their own lives. The Sweet Potato Queens' First Big-Ass Novel: Stuff We Didn't Actually Do, but Could Have, and May Yet reveals that the journey isn't always easy, but in the company of the Queens, you can sparkle, too." customer 's review (Can't go wrong with G Shock Watch) I use this as my every day watch and I get compliments from both men and women. Often people don't think to look at Amazon for the items they are looking for. This is one item that I have found that goes with just about any outfit. It also gives me a chance to sing the praises of what Amazon has to offer. The Casio Sweet Poison women's watch is a fashionable digital watch that is shock resistant and can withstand a good amount of abuse. It has a stainless steel case and a white resin band. The reverse LCD display allows for a streamlined appearance that blends with the black bezel. The watch has four daily alarms and one snooze alarm. It also features a countdown timer, stopwatch, a calendar pre-programmed until 2099, and a world time mode with 29 time zones. It has an electroluminescent backlight with Afterglow allowing for easy reading in the dark, and is water resistant to 330 feet (100 meters). The watch is covered by the manufacturer's 1-year warranty. Rerations < Casio Women's Sweet Poison G Shock Watch #BG1224B-7 >
