Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (LOVE IT!!) 『I bought one for my 11 yr old and 12 yr old for Christmas. They adore it! Beautiful colors, hangs long, easy to put up, durable..I would buy this again in a heartbeat. I was skeptical because of the low price but I am so glad I took a chance, well worth it!』
(Great canopy for the price) 『We purchased this canopy at Christmas for our daughter, and almost 2 months later, can say that it was one of the best purchases! At the time is was only around $12 and very worth that price. It has held up very well and fits nicely over a twin size bed. Can be easily embelished with sequins or things that dangle, or left as is (our daughter likes it "plain").』 『Sweet dreams are assured as your little princess slumbers beneath this dreamy, ice-creamy tulle netting canopy! A flowing, floating rainbow gently drapes your child's bed in a transparent cloud of color... a pure delight for anyone who believes in fairy tales! 100% Polyester fabric. 22 x 90 5/8 long.』
Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Fluffy) 『A nice fluffy blanket for baby. Will be a gift, so will see how it wears later. It is soft and pretty and arrived in very short time.』
(Beautiful and soft) 『It is the best blanket I`ve ever found for my kids. It feels like a caress and it is really beautiful』
Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Sweet Relief II - love this CD) 『Had bought this CD years ago, and it disappeared. After replacing it, I realized how much I loved it. Thanks for the great service and shipping it quickly...』
(All the little loonies.) 『Sweet Relief II is worth it just for 2 tracks: Kick My A%% by Garbage and Guilty by Association by Joe Henry and Madonna. That's all I gotta say, amazing!』
(Terrific Introduction to Songwriting Genius) 『I suspect that most people are going to discover this album, like I did, trying to complete collections of songs by their favorite artists. I was a Cracker and Sparklehorse fan which led me to this album. Now arguably I am a much bigger Vic Chesnutt fan than I am of either of those bands. In fact the Cracker and Sparklehorse covers on this album aren't all that great. I give this album 4 stars because the songs are all VC classics and should be heard by those unfamiliar with his work, but inevitably the covers are of hit-and-miss quality. On the weak side are the Hootie cover of"Gravity of the Situation", and the Smashing Pumpkins cover of"Sad Peter Pan", which really pale to the original upon repeated listening to both. Those are two VC classics that probably no one could cover successfully. On a positive note, the Dog's Eye View, Live, Joe Henry and Soul Asylum covers are terrific, as good as I've ever heard those artists. In short, if you are unfamiliar with VC, you may, upon gaining greater familiarity and upon repeated listening to this album, soon begin to think at times that VC should be spending more time writing music for others to perform -- it would make the music world a better place.』
(One of my favorite records!) 『This is a great record. Each of the musicians does justice to Vic's music while at the same time expressing their own style. Even though he's not well-known, Vic Chesnutt is highly respected in the music world, which is why musicians like R.E.M., Madonna, and Live wanted to cover his songs. Kristin Hersh does an absolutely beautiful version of"Panic Pure"on this record- as good as Vic's, which makes me suspect that she's actually his female counterpart. R.E.M. said it all in their comment,"Vic is cherry pie."If you want to get a Vic album after hearing this, I recommend"Drunk"or"West of Rome."』
(The only album of covers that is as good as the original.) 『I lost this cd recently, and I need to replace it. Quickly. It is one the only times that I have found the cover songs are nearly as good as Vic Chesnutt's own versions. They are artistic entities in their own right. The muscicians on this album do not simply reproduce these songs, they re-create them. And it is a testament to the incredible song writing of Chesnutt.』

1) Steve Hoffman mastered it from the vintage stereo mixes. He's a great mastering engineer. So it sounds really good (despite what a couple reviews here say).
2) It presents all of the remaining Imperial/Liberty B-sides not found on any other collection. It contains some mono single mixes that sound amazing. So if you want everything she released through 1966, you will need this.
The collection is sort of in two parts. The first 11 songs are the "hits" section, and most of the following songs (except for the classic "Take a Look") are the (usually wonderful) obscurities. Thank goodness this set exists.
And, yeah, everything the other reviews say about her voice is true. Amazing singer...probably the warmest and most versatile soul singer of the 1960's. Nice sense of humor, too.』
(THE IRMA THOMAS COLLECTION) 『THIS IS REALLY "THE BEST OF THE BEST" IRMA THOMAS CD OF ALL TIMES. IT REMINDED ME OF THE FREE CONCERTS SHE GAVE AT AUDUBON PARK ON SUNDAY AFTERNOONS YEARS AGO, AND BROUGHT BACK MEMORIES OF BETTER TIMES.』
(From "Slow Burn", thanks Ray Liotta) 『Found this now favorite CD while watching an interesting Ray Liotta film called "Slow Burn". A character in that film is a fan of the one he calls "Sister Irma Thomas". Being from Wisconsin, I have to admit I searched under Sister Thomas....then wised up and found this incredible CD. It just resonates with maybe not heart-ache but feelings of the heart. She feels. And all the musicians on this are great. Ordering another copy now for a friend who heard mine and loved it.』
(Total Perfection!!!!) 『I recently got this CD and fell in love with the voice of Irma Thomas all over again! This Cd is pure delight..music in it's true form. I did notice a bit of a scatchy record sound in a couple of places but for me that just added to the joy of it all. I am thrilled this CD was not digitally remastered. Pure sweetness...buy it...you won't regret it.』
(Soul of New Orleans) 『The songs included in this 1996 compilation were recorded in 1963 and 1964, according to the essay included. This is stated without certitude, because individual track information is not provided.
SWEET SOUL QUEEN OF NEW ORLEANS: THE IRMA THOMAS COLLECTION consists of 23 songs, presumably recorded in 1963 and 1964 on Minit and Imperial/Liberty labels. Disc packaged in black standard jewel case; total running time: 60 min. Booklet includes several photographs, a 3+ page essay by John Morthland, chart position information for 4 songs, no lyrics, and no individual track information. The sound quality is mostly decent.
Not included here is her 1960 hit "(You Can Have My Husband But Please) Don't Mess With My Man" or 1963's "I Did My Part"; nor is "Good to Me" or her other recordings made on Chess Records, after she signed with the label in 1967. Includes 10 songs not found on the "Time Is on My Side" compilation.
The collection does include her "answer record" to James Brown's "It's a Man's Man's Man's World", "It's a Man's Woman's World", produced by the Godfather of Soul himself. Another notable track is "Moments to Remember", which has an intro very similar to Martha&the Vandellas' "(Love Is Like a) Heatwave".
Note: Last note of up-tempo "Take a Look" runs over into first second of ballad "It's a Man's Woman's World" (Pt. 1)
The music is not particularly Bluesy, nor is it Southern Soul or New Orleans Jazz. It is Rhythm&Blues, verging on Do-Wopish Pop (with a couple Motown-esque tunes). Here, Irma is more Ruth Brown than Etta James; more Ronnie Spector than Aretha Franklin; more Mable John than Koko Taylor. While her voice and the music is enjoyable, I would have liked a few additional songs and I would have expected better packaging for such a costly CD.

Usually ships in 24 hours Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Start here; you won't stop!) 『Poor Jackie, he's the latest in a long line of talented singer-songwriters to be saddled with the label, "The New Dylan," when all I suspect he wants is to be Jackie Greene. When an interviewer raised the issue, Jackie acknowledged being flattered, but made it clear that in the end, "We each build our own house." A brilliant guitarist, songwriter and performer, this young man will have you haranguing your closest friends to give him a listen, and this 2005 release is a perfect place for them to start. Jackie can break your heart ("Sad to Say Goodbye"; "Emily's in Heaven") and a moment before or after have you grinning ear-to-ear ("Honey I Been Thinking about You"). His phrase-turning and remarkable insights into women, workers, in-mates, lovers and dreamers will make you think he's lived 10 lifetimes. Musically, he's bold and beautiful. And he sings every word with the credibility of someone who, well, HAS lived 10 lifetimes. Jackie Greene. Maybe it's true that neither he nor so many others ever could have gotten through the door without Bob, but now that he's inside, it's his own house he's living in.』
(beautiful, dark, unhurried) 『Listening to Sweet Somewhere Bound feels like a solitary walk through grey twilight - beautiful and reflective in all its solitude. Every song on this incredible album has its own purpose and its own feel; it could not be a whole without all of its parts. Surely a perfect album can't exist, but Sweet Somewhere Bound is a worthy challenge to that notion. The spirited instrumentation of "About Cell Block #9", the genuine sentiment in "Write a Letter Home", the amusing satisfaction in the blues tune "I Don't Care About My Baby". The quick, energetic songs will grip you at first, but it's the deeper tunes and honest lyrics of tracks like "A Thing Called Rain" that give this album tremendous staying power.』
(A New Day To Be Born) 『After buying "American Myth," I backtracked to "Sweet Somewhere Bound," Jackie Greene's previous set. I like the largely acoustic folk feel of his music and particularly enjoy his playfulness and humor. Of my two favorite tracks, "Honey I Been Thinking About You" is a churning toe tapper with a catchy melody, "I don't really care about the weather outside&I don't want to talk about national pride; All that I need for to be satisfied is a woman who's nothing like me." The title track also has an amazingly memorable melody with Greene's gentle vocals bouncing reflectively between sadness and hope, "Where will you go when the sun goes sinking? Morning brings a new day to be born." Other tracks like the opening boogie "Cell Block #9"&the haunting "Miss Madeleine (3 Ways to Love Her)" are also excellent. This is a strong offering from this promising songwriter&vocalist. Enjoy!』
(IT'S ALL IN THE STARS) 『good side:lyrically brilliant, musically captivating, wonderful vocal deliveries bad side:again, can't find anything too bad to say about this! standout tracks:honey i've been thinking about you; sweet somewhere bound; everything to me; a thing called rain; seven jealous sisters; miss madeline (3 ways to love her)』
(AMAZING!) 『I saw Jackie Greene last night for the first time. He opened for Big Head Todd and the Monsters, and as is the usual, the crowd was thin before he came on stage with the band. Halfway through his first song, though, people were out of their seats and on the floor dancing and supporting this guy. After the third song, I was at the merch table buying his cd. It's unusual in this town to get the crowd engaged as an opening act. I've seen it happen with KNOWN artists and it's got to be unnerving. Jackie is a rare talent that, yes, like Dylan, has a true feel for the style but, unlike Dylan, can carry a tune that you want to learn the lyrics to so you can sing along. Amazing, yes, and hopefully, we'll hear more of him in St. Louis!』
Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (MARVELOUS DOCUMENTARY) 『IT'S A MARVELOUS DOCUMENTARY FROM THE BEST OF THE BIG BANDS ERA - THE BENNY GOODMAN ORCHESTRA. IT'S WONDERFUL.』
(Another "must have" DVD for the Jazz Fan) 『The only criticism I have of this is that it could have been three hours long with all the available material and surviving members of his bands... well, it's still a 5 star video for the fan of jazz. Benny Goodman is a legend and the DVD is a short but fitting tribute.』
(The Swing Era) 『If you love the swing era, this DVD is for you. Not only do you have Benny Goodman, but the stars who played with him are what made swing the great period that it was. Gene Kruppa stands out in particular. As this was taken from old movies, the picture quality may not be what one might hope, but I bought the record to listen to the music and I was not disappointed.
』
(a solid addition to info about Benny Goodman) 『I watched this DVD three times in as many nights when I rented it from Netflix. The music clips were better than those I've seen in other videos. I did not mind that there were few complete music pieces, have seen them elsewhere. Two things fascinated me about this one: the commentaries from his daughters, sister, brothers, and sidemen, though some comments offered as fact conflicted with those heard/read elsewhere, so I don't know what's really true. The second thing, and why I am buying this DVD after watching it three times, is the closeups of BG's fingering, much closer than in other videos. I am learning the clarinet, and my teacher keeps trying to keep my fingers as close to the instrument as possible and has mentioned that in certain cases a particular hand does not have to leave the instrument at all. Actually seeing that approach in motion hammered that home. It seemed that very few of Benny's fingers left the clarinet at times, even in up-tempo numbers. Seeing the undisputed master doing it is a great inspiration. And, yes, I know about his personality, warts and all, but as Jess Stacy says in the video, when you hear him, all is forgiven.』
(Benny Goodmans's Story) 『This DVD production is about the life and times of musical great Benny Goodman. It is not a presentation of complete performances. It would have been nice to have had at least several complete performances from beginning to end , perhaps as bonus tracks. However, the clips that were briefly presented were fabulous. Other reviewers have stated in more detail the specifics of this DVD especially all of the collaborations of the other great musical talents of the time. This is a must have DVD for Benny Goodman fans. I will only give this 4 stars because of the annoying way the clips were edited.』
Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (A must have for Tennessee Williams fans) 『This filmed Canadian interview biography was probably the last that Tennessee Williams gave. For years it languished as VHS only. When it was included in the Tennessee Williams films collection, it was the only DVD available of this rare insight to the private Tennessee Williams with him reading and commenting on his own works and inspriration.』
(Meet Tennessee Williams!) 『This is the best way to meet T.Williams and his works. Better than a Biography, it combines live interviews with TW along with clips from his most important plays. In just 80 minutes, you will understand TW and his genius without having to read or watch movies. 10 times better than Cliff Notes...99% more entertaining than most documentaries. HIGHLY RECCOMMEND. -Bob Monement, Sylvan Lake, MI』
(flawed but valuable) 『The disc is worth grabbing if only for the opportunity to see Jessica Tandy do a chunk of STREETCAR. She created the part of Blanche (it was written for her), but, because of the omnipresent film, the performance everyone knows is Vivien Leigh's. It is excellent, of course, but it's illuminating to see the different take Tandy brings. Also, there is precious little film of the late great Canadian actor William Hutt, and the chance to see him should be precious to anyone in the theatre. The excerpts from the plays are not great cinema, but they do offer flashes of undiluted Williams. And then there's Williams himself, playing host to his own life. There are all sorts of ways to pick this program apart for what it lacks, but what it offers cannot be replaced or duplicated by anything elsewhere.』
(Williams' South) 『Tennessee Williams is interviewed in Key West and New Orleans, and talks about his childhood, family, religion, race relations in the south, his eccentricies and demons and his love for Chekhov. His observations are often illuminating and provide good analysis for some of his writings. He also reads some of his poetry and prose (the poem from "Night of the Iguana" and "Life Story" and a section from "The Glass Menagerie"). This odd film also contains dramatic pieces at intervals with Williams commenting on the characters and their motivations. The dramatic clips are about 5 minutes each and include Burl Ives in a scene from "The Last of my Solid Gold Watches," Jessica Tandy in "A Streetcar Named Desire," William Hutt in "Small Craft Warnings," Colleen Dewhurst and John Colicos in "Night of the Iguana," and Maureen Stapleton, Michael York, James Naughton and Carol Williard in "The Glass Menagerie."』 『The brutes and the belles. The gadflies and the good ol' boys. The taboos and the profound truths. They're all part of a tennessee state of mind -- a realm of places, personalities and ideas.
Williams is front and center for this exploration, reading from his works, placing them in the context of his life, and serving as guide in visits to his career-shaping refuge in New Orleans and his later-day writing quarters in Key West. Also, dramatizations by distinguished actors -- including Jessica Tandy, Broadway's original Blanche DuBois, in a recreation of her A Streetcar Named Desire triumph -- give flesh-and-bone immediacy to some of the writer's famed works. In his own words. In his own places. The resilient character and memorable characters of one of our greatest writers reside in Tennessee Williams' South.』

Born in Hiroshima where he was a student of graphic design (think his"Pleats Please"line), he later moved to Paris where he worked for Guy Laroche and Hubert de Givenchy.
In the late 1960s he moved to New York and the salon of Geoffrey Beene. Just a short jump from there to opening his own studio two years later. The rest is couture history and today his clothing is worn by the very fashionable.

The gentle words lend themselves to a bedtime ritual read aloud. The illustrations convey a warmth and sense of belonging, with loving representations of animals in parent/child interactions against a backdrop of a magical forest-like setting. Included with the book is a CD of Peter Yarrow, accompanied by Bethany Yarrow. The three musical selections are sublime, offering children a lovely introduction to traditional folk music. Adults will also find comfort in the familiar cadence of Yarrow voice. The CD is perfect for bedtime, quiet time, or soothing background music for playtime. The book does not have Jewish content, but the third track on the CD is a beautiful rendition of "Dona, Dona, Dona". Although Yarrow has created his own lyrics, the melody maintains the essence of the original composition. Day is Done is appropriate for families and schools. The combination book/CD would also be a beautiful gift. For ages 2 and up. Barbara Bietz 』
(This book will give you a sense of peace when you listen to the CD and you'll be totally awed by the artwork!) 『Among the trees and flowers a mama bear hugged her cub close as a pair dragonflies flitted through the air. The little cub's eyes were wide with fright and as she cuddled him she asked what was scaring him. She reassured him by stating that if it was the sound of "thunder in the distance" she would stay close. Other animals in the forest were staying close to their young as well to give them reassurance and protect them. The deer was staying close to her fawn and the mother rabbit bounded through a field with her little bunny. A bird approached her nest with food for her three young babies. "All will be well when the day is done."
A mother raccoon and a mother mouse talked about the woes of the world as their babies nestled close to their bodies. Some possums looked out from a hole in a nearby tree and some butterflies flitted near a pond filled with sweet pink lilies. A few ladybugs went about their business on some leaves as the mothers talked to them. In another part of the forest two more mothers, a frog and a fox, could be seen with their young. The sun had set and the beauty of the forest could be seen beneath the star studded sky. Through a light filled window a father could be seen with his young son. The boy hugged his teddy bear as his father asked, "Tell me why you're smiling, my son. Is there a secret you can tell everyone?" The wise old owl sat in a tree with her baby waiting for the answer.
When I first read through this book, I had to ask myself where the book was going because I was quite surprised at one section in the book. In particular it was these few lines: "Do you ask why I'm sighing, my son? You shall inherit what humankind has done. In a world filled with sorrow and woe, if you ask me why, why is this so? I really don't know." I must admit I was quite taken aback to see this sort of thing in a children's book, but when I read the back material and listen to the CD I realized the intent of this book and had one of those "ahhhhh" moments.
The book is intended to reflect our childlike spirit and "early acceptance of one another." Children have an understanding of some things that are lost on adults. Only then did I begin to appreciate the true beauty of this book. After I sat down again and read the book with the music playing in the background I felt a sense of peace and was totally awed by both the music and the artwork. Those who lived during the turbulent sixties will be totally awed by this book because "all will be well when the day is done."』
(More PLEASE) 『Love the music of Peter, Paul and Mary -- inspired, soothed and entertained over the many years. Great that new generations will discover and be educated by their body of work. Hope more of their work is spread to children this way -- so much of their fine efforts over the years have been for the world's children. A better world.
The artwork is lovely. Quality binding -- lovely book to gift this Christmas to the young ones in your life. An uplifting presentation.』
(depressing) 『This book was so depressing. I didn't want to read it to my children, so I returned it.』
(Will be beloved by a whole new generation of parents and children) 『"Day Is Done" is a sensitively illustrated children's book and three-song CD of the famous song by the same title written by Peter Yarrow. Poignant lyrics, soothing paintings of animal parent and child figures and nighttime scenes make "Day Is Done" a beautiful, classic bedtime book to share between parent and child. In addition to the title song as sung originally by Peter, Paul, and Mary in the 60's, the accompanying CD includes the songs "I know Where I'm Going" and "Dona Dona Dona" recorded by Peter Yarrow (of Peter, Paul and Mary, folk singers trio of 60's and more recent fame) and his daughter, Bethany Yarrow, a combination American/African/Caribbean style folk singer who performs with Rufus Cappadocia as Bethany and Rufus. This past month saw the death of Mary Travers, performer in the original trio. It is wonderful to see the continuing legacy of this creative group in this new format. "Day Is Done" will be beloved by a whole new generation of parents and children, fathers and sons, and is appropriate for children age 3-7.』 『
Peter Yarrow follows the blockbuster success ofPuff, the Magic Dragonwith a picture book version of his beautiful song,âDay Is Done.â
As night falls, animal and human parents everywhere tenderly tuck their children into bed. In the darkness, each childâraccoon, doe, rabbit, field mouse, and a little boyâwonders:Will I be safe? Will you be there for me?And every mommy and daddy responds with the comforting words of Yarrowâs refrain: âI am here.â
Caldecott Honor-winning artist Melissa Sweet has created gorgeous images that celebrate the loving bond between parent and child, as well as the connection between all creatures of the earth.

(Too much broad information on growing apples and not enough specifically about cider) 『This book seems most appropriate for someone who wants to have their own orchard AND make cider. A lot of the information is all about planting and establishing an orchard leaving little real estate to actually talk about making cider. It was a little disapointing to me because I was expecting it to be the cider equivalent of Home Cheese Making: Recipes for 75 Delicious Cheeses or Charcuterie: The Craft of Salting, Smoking, and Curing, which talk about how to make these products in an artisanal fashion but not about the raising of the animals.
The bottom line is this, if you're interested in opening your own orchard and going through the whole process from seed to bottle this could be valuable. However, if you're only interested in cidermaking you will find that a lot of the book is dedicated to growing apple trees and not specifically to making great cider.』
(Badly represented and completely out of scale for homebrewing) 『If this were advertised as a book on "how to establish a Cidery" which happened to have info useful to the homebrewer I would have cut it a lot more slack, but as advertised it's deeply disappointing. While I did enjoy the level of detail regarding some aspects of brewing such as the importance of acidity, the 50 page "how to start your own orchard" section was a complete waste of time, as were the neurotically detailed breakdowns of common apple types by region. Anyone looking to start an entire orchard should perhaps be pointed at another more thorough text so that that 50 pages could be reclaimed for, oh, I dunno, brewing? It's pretty badly organized considering it's a third edition, and furthermore it's highly repetitive.
Any brew text that chooses to devote multiple chapters lovingly detailing (and in some cases diagramming) the multitudinous types of equipment used to reduce apples to juice and then repeatedly recommends MOUTH STARTING a siphon for bottling has its head screwed on the wrong way. Fermenting methodologies listed are limited to wild open fermentation or sulfiting the living daylights out of things, and the idea that one might use different yeasts is barely acknowledged.
The only thing to be said for adding this book to your library is its section on "beyond cider" which included a discussion of vinegar, canning, cooking with cider and (perhaps most interestingly) distilling Apple Jack and Apple Brandy. While the authors are very careful to state repeatedly that the production of hard alcohol (even via freeze distillation) is most definitively illegal in the US and that these are not directions (merely information in the interest of completeness) they then go on to give a fairly complete basic rundown on home distillation via multiple methods (including tables, construction details, and diagrams) and the best ways to finish products gained from these methods. Not to say this has any use to the homebrewer either, but at least it's interesting.』
(Cider, nature's gift to a thirsty world) 『I've been making cider for over thirty years and my family for generations. I've learned a few things about cider I never thought about before and I'm a stickler for details. Novices should consider this as their number one source for information unless they can get in touch with me. ;-)』
(Useful) 『We used this to brew, but with some brewing experience and a fair sized orchard to work with. Also a delight to read.』 『The Pilgrims drank cider as they sailed to America aboard the Mayflower. John Adams had a tankard of cider every morning at breakfast. After a long day on safari, Ernest Hemingway liked to kick back beside the campfire with a glass of cider. And Robert Frost saluted his favorite beverage with a poem titled ?In A Glass of Cider.? Neck and neck with brewing beer at home is the resurgence of making cider. Whether sweet, hard, blended, or sparkling, trend watchers say cider, once the preferred beverage of early America, could very well become the drink of the future. (Hard cider is the fastest growing segment of the beverage industry.) Keeping pace with the commercial cider producers are small-scale and individual cider makers who have discovered how easy it is to make their own. After all, the only ingredient you need is an apple. In this updated edition of Cider, Annie Proulx and Lew Nichols take you step-by-step through the process that renders fruit into a refreshing drink. In addition to learning about the equipment you?ll need to make a glorious cider, Proulx and Nichols also discuss the pros and cons of various types of apple presses ? from traditional heavy grinders to sleek hydraulic presses. You?ll also learn about the glass bottles vs. wooden barrels debate; how to filter, fine, and rack your cider; and where and how to store it. Proulx and Nichols provide detailed recipes for making six types of cider: still, sparkling, champagne, barrel, French, and flavored, with advice on which apples to use to achieve a tart, aromatic, astringent, or neutral quality in your cider. In fact, this book is brimming with expert advice on cidermaking. If you want to plant your own apple orchard, this book has an entire chapter that lists which cultivars of apples thrive in which parts of the United States and Canada, along with each cultivar?s characteristics and when it is ready for harvesting. Another chapter explains how to care for an orchard, from improving the soil to pruning and thinning the trees to fighting off pests and wildlife. Once a cidermaker has learned how to make excellent cider, he or she is likely to look for further fields t o explore. With that in mind, the authors include a chapter on making cider vinegars and brandy and using cider in cooking.
Finally, Proulx and Nichols walk you through the latest federal regulations covering the production and sale of homemade cider in the United States and Canada, and they familiarize you with the kind of impact state and provincial laws can make. The clear, simple language, numerous illustrations, and detailed step-by-step directions make it easy for even novices to become skilled cidermakers. This revised edition of the classic handbook is a complete guide for anyone who wants to discover the pleasure of making ? and drinking ? fresh cider.』

It was a great way introduce the time period to them. The illustrations are beautiful and the kids had a great time discussing why 1 item on each page is red- really got their brains warmed up!』
(Unnoticed...) 『When mentioning the Civil Rights movement, we automatically think of Rosa Parks, Dr. Martin Luther King, and other adults who spoke out against inequality. However, the role of children and young adults is not often discussed, and it should be. A SWEET SMELL OF ROSES by Angela Johnson takes a step in sharing their involvement.
The book opens early one morning as two girls sneak out of their house to join a civil rights march. They run through the streets and upon meeting the others, listen as Dr. King talks of peace, love, and nonviolence. They then join the march as protestors shout along the sidelines and police observe the group. Finally, they stop in the middle of town as King again takes center stage. Afterwards, they run back home late in the afternoon to find their mother waiting, with a worried face.
THE SWEET SMELL OF ROSES is written as a tribute to the many children and young adults who took part in the fight for justice during the Civil Rights era. Though I can't really imagine younger children leaving their houses without permission, racing through the streets alone, joining a march, and staying out all day, it could've happened, as the times were a bit safer for our children. Additionally, there are likely other areas they participated in as well and I would've loved to see that incorporated in the book. Better yet, to have them joining their parents in the march would've been more age-appropriate.
The illustrations are highly detailed, done in black and white, capturing the tone of the book. Additionally, the writing is easy to understand and children may enjoy it in a reading circle type of scenario, but I wouldn't recommend it otherwise. It doesn't fit the projected age group. It is, however, a great look into the history of the Civil Rights Movement and a nice way to introduce children to it.

Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Beautiful, but with some flaws) 『I LOVE the way this diaper bag/purse looks. It's great that it comes with a changing pad but it makes the entire back of the purse like a flat wall. I may be writing this review too soon as I have only had the purse for a few weeks but I wish when I stuck something into my bag that I didn't have to manually open it and ensure the item reaches the bottom of the purse and not stuck somewhere between the opening and all of the inner pockets. I think it comes with the territory of a hobo style bag. I might buy a new changing pad that folds up smaller. I should also mention that I love all the pockets. My camera and wallet each fit into one of the front pockets and the side pockets hold my keys, phone, lipstick, chapstick, sunglasses, and a bottle of water!』 タイトル『 Ceiling Fan Pull Chain: Pink/Brown Dot >

Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (AMERICAN ACCENTS SPRAY PAINT) 『We love this product for our outdoor furniture. It is easy to put on and lasts for a good long time! We like the fact that it is a matte finish. Alot of the paints are glossy and the appearance is not as rich as this London Grey (looks like chocolate brown) finish. It also goes well with all the natural colors of the outdoor as opposed to the usual black.』

I don't know why the manufacturer has closen to stop making it, but I cannot find it on any store shelves anymore. Which is why I looked for it on e-bay as I was in the middle of a project and had run out of this particular color. The reds on the shelves today are too bright and too glossy.』
