My dogs love these and I like the fact that they are all natural and have nothing in them except duck and sweet potato.
My dog is 14 yrs. old and she loves it. It's not hard and soft enough for her to chew.

Excellent product, much better for the bigger breeds of dogs. Must be cut up for our Cairn Terriers.
My dog goes nuts for these! We have our dog on "good" foods(holistic/organic) and these can't be beat! Two ingredients: duck and sweetpotato. I used to buy them at Petsmart, but they haven't had them in such a long time I had to look elsewhere.

I have a 17 month and 3 year old. We have been looking for toddler chairs and thought that these looked comfortable and fun. Our girls LOVE them! They sit in their chairs while watching TV/ looking at books. The chairs are light enough for them to pick up and move themselves. The chairs are very stable and do not tip over very easily. We love the bright colors!
The P'kolino chair is cute with vibrant colors -- perfect for toddlers except for the fact that the chair cover isn't washable. On the first day my daughter had her chair, she had a spill. She recently had another spill. I need to create a chair cover for it which defeats the purpose of the beautiful color. My daughter is rather small for a 20 month old so we thought she could grow into this chair. To our surprise, she was the perfect size for it.
My only cause for apprehension was the price but after checking other similar chairs online and in stores, I got over it.

This chair is all it is advertised to be. The orange color is vibrant and my daughter loves it. I got it when she was 14 months old and she has taken to it. It's so light she can lift and flip it. For whatever reason, sometimes she enjoys flipping it and sitting on the backrest and resting her back in the seat. Whatever works for her :) She walks backwards to fit her teeny bum into the seat when she doesn't want to take her eyes off the TV. She climbs in and over and around it and because the edges are soft and rounded... no worries. It's a great buy and I know we will enjoy it for many years. Right now it's her TV watching chair, in future it'll be her little reader.
We looked everywhere for the perfect chair for our daughter. The reviews for this one were all positive, so we chose it. I am VERY happy! My daughter LOVES it. She has really needed a place to sit (she can't get on the couch by herself yet). She was thrilled. I highly recommend this chair.

Received a red "Mike" train and coal tender. Never heard of that one, but it seems to be of good quality, made of wood and plastic. My son likes it.
The video is one of the older ones w/ Ringo Starr. The production quality isn't as good as the more recent Thomas videos and Ringo is not one of the better narrators. He doesn't seem to have the warmth or the ability to keep the kids attention as well as others. It sounds like he is just reading a book out loud. Overrall, w/ the train, this is a decent value, but not great.
Our son enjoyed this DVD. We purchased it because the picture showed two trains engines. When it arrived it had 1 train and also his tender box, but not two train engines.
Instead of 2 engines pictured (Thomas and Duncan) the set ended up containing one cheaper engine (Mike) and its tender. A similar set I ordered last month on Amazon also included a wrong train. Finally, I paid $12 for this set last week and now the price has dropped down to $6.
It's a selection of Thomas videos, so if you know Thomas, you know what you're getting there. But as for the train included, it appears to be random. We received a red train we've never seen before with ours, which is obviously not the one pictured. Luckily it was bought as a gift for a neighbor who was just happy to get any train - our son would have been like "who's this train?"
The program is very silly for Adults, but Kids stay glued to the TV watching the narration of wooden trains! It is very annoying for Adults!

(My Favorite Baby Einstein DVD for Older Babies)

I teach special education preschool and the kids are fascinated by this video. I bought a copy for my granddaughter (21 months) and she also loves it. Sort of boring for adults but it does capture the toddlers and pre-k kiddos.
This is my favorite Baby Einstein DVD hands-down! I love the variety of animals (not all of them are commonly known), environments, and the photography footage is outstanding! My daughter laughs out loud at the humor expressed by the puppets. Baby McDonald and Baby Noah are her favorites as an older baby. I have a great love for animals and I am happy to see my daughter already showing the same. I believe that exposing children to animals early on (in-person and through other venues) creates a life long appreciation and respect. You will not be disappointed with this video.
Finally, I know that some people criticize videos like this for young children, but this is a great teaching tool when used in moderation. Not to mention the break that it gives mom and dad when we need to get stuff done!
My one year old is REALLY active. This is the ONLY video that keeps her attention. She now growls however, when she sees tigers and elephants in it.
This is my favorite of the Baby Einsteins. They group animals (some familiar and some more unusual) by region. At 2, my daughter can correctly identify animals of the rainforest, savannah, polar regions, etc. Unfortunately, Disney's thirst for self-promotion results in ads for "Little Einsteins" AND a new theme park. If you are a vigilant parent and can work around these, the content is great.
I bought the Baby Einstein for my son who is 5 months old. This particular DVD says it is recommended for babies 9 months and above. However, my son has always seemed advanced so I thought I'd start him early. The DVD seems a little complicated for a baby of any age. I watched the entire thing with him. It has too many different types of scenarios going on. At one point it shows live, real people then it switches to puppets, then to cartoons, then back to animals. There is no consistency to the video or the dialogue. It seems to just be a bunch of thoughts put together in no particular order.
I believe it does have some great footage of animals on the video. However, the entire video itself does not seem to flow together. My son was very interested in the puppets and cartoon animation but not so much of the other stuff. I have heard this from other people as well.
Also, for the quality and content of the video it seems overpriced. We received the other videos in the collection for Christmas so hopefully the rest of the collection will be better than this one was.

Despite the title, there is no real biblical connection to the material other than Noah's Ark toys and a few paintings (minus Noah and family). (A great movie that offers a glimpse into what Jackie was like while married to JFK)

This is a great movie staring Jaclyn Smith covering the period of time of Jackie's childhood through when Jackie met Jack Kennedy and married him up until Jack's death in Dallas. It offers a glimpse of what Jackie was like during this period and what being married to JFK was like. The period of time called Camelot was a magical time in US history and this film offers a unique and up beat perspective into this period.

For example there is a part in the film where Jackie went to Europe and Jack asked here to bring back some books. A whole crate of them. After they were married Jackie complained that the press asked here questions like if her panties were cotton or nylon. Jack said that when you give them something better to talk about they will and that's when she decided to renovate the White House.

Jaclyn Smith's acting is superb and the contrast between the role she plays and Jackie's alcoholic father is quite interesting. It's an great addition the body of knowledge about Jackie and JFK and a great Jaclyn Smith film.

The VHS tape version that is currently available has a running time of 122 minutes. The original version was 150 minutes. It would be nice if ABC Circle Films who produced the film in 1981 or whoever owns it would release the entire 150 minutes on DVD.

Not to be missed! Beginning with Jackie's childhood and continuing up to the great tragedy in Dallas, this lavish production offers an emotionally-charged, unforgettable performance by Jaclyn Smith. Perhaps her best performance ever, and it is uncanny how one can almost believe one is seeing the young Jacqueline Kennedy when Jaclyn Smith is on-screen.

Rod Taylor offers a wonderful portrayal of Jackie's beloved father.

Truly a film to savor -- a bit hard to find, but worth adding to one's collection as it is definitely a film to see more than once. Recommended!
This 1981 tv-movie is one of Jaclyn Smith's best performances in her reign in Hollywood as the undisputed Queen of TvMovies. This movie came out right after the cancellation of her tv series "Charlie's Angels." So, it was a big risk for both the star and the producers if she will be taken seriously as Jackie O. But her performance is absolutely outstanding from start to finish, that she was rewarded by a Golden Globe nomination and other accolades from the media and critics alike. The viewing public also agreed, making the film one of the highest rated tv movies of all time! It also features James Franciscus as JFK, who also appeared with Jaclyn Smith, a year before, in the thriller "Nightkill."

(Love It! Middle Age Female Comeback)

I love this movie, as most of Debbie Reynolds high energy comedies, this one is no disappointment. It's the story of middle aged revival..at a time when many women (and men) direly feel and equally dread the loss of their strength, vitality and sexuality, this hysterical farce pulls all those elements together while reinforcing the strength of a quality marital love without sacrificing good parenting in the process.

Debbie Reynolds is feminine dynamite as she wows the French with her sizzling middle age figure and reminds her hubby that good things, do, indeed come in small packages! James Garner perfectly addresses the sterotypical oblivious middle aged husband who cannot see his wife through the trees...that is, until all is unveiled before a more appreciative audience. Charming comedy, great glimpse of the 60's and just plain old fun.
From the groovy credits done in sixties pop-art style to the freak-out ending, this is a film that captures the era right on!"Alone time"for Grif and Jenny Henderson (James Garner, Debbie Reynolds) has been almost impossible for this married couple, what with Grif's job as a photographer having him traveling for photo shoots and raising a teenage son in a time of revolution. There must be some way for the Hendersons to spend some time together. When their son Davey asks to go on vacation to Europe, alone with some other classmates, well of course that's out of the question. . . right? That is unless Jenny can come up with a clever plan so that the whole family can go and make this a much-needed family vacation. And what a vacation this turns out to be! Theft, adultery, imprisonment, divorce! These are but some of the things this movie has in store for you, along with some genuinely funny mishaps that you won't want to miss.
James Garner delivers his typically quick and funny one-liners in this comedy movie made during the flower child era. I especially laughed when he was talking about his son with Debbie Reynolds. When she asked why he didn't do things with him anymore, Garner sneered said"we used to build model airplanes together. Now all he wants to do is sniff the glue."

Another time, Garner was in a French restaurant and he told the waiter that he didn't even like French bread.

I recommend this movie, especially at this price. No violence, just good clean fun, 1968 style.
Comedy about a married couple that travels to Europe to revitalize their relationship, only to have the wife get involved with a sexy Frenchman.

IT'S A MARVELOUS DOCUMENTARY FROM THE BEST OF THE BIG BANDS ERA - THE BENNY GOODMAN ORCHESTRA. IT'S WONDERFUL.
The only criticism I have of this is that it could have been three hours long with all the available material and surviving members of his bands... well, it's still a 5 star video for the fan of jazz. Benny Goodman is a legend and the DVD is a short but fitting tribute.
If you love the swing era, this DVD is for you. Not only do you have Benny Goodman, but the stars who played with him are what made swing the great period that it was. Gene Kruppa stands out in particular. As this was taken from old movies, the picture quality may not be what one might hope, but I bought the record to listen to the music and I was not disappointed.

I watched this DVD three times in as many nights when I rented it from Netflix. The music clips were better than those I've seen in other videos. I did not mind that there were few complete music pieces, have seen them elsewhere. Two things fascinated me about this one: the commentaries from his daughters, sister, brothers, and sidemen, though some comments offered as fact conflicted with those heard/read elsewhere, so I don't know what's really true. The second thing, and why I am buying this DVD after watching it three times, is the closeups of BG's fingering, much closer than in other videos. I am learning the clarinet, and my teacher keeps trying to keep my fingers as close to the instrument as possible and has mentioned that in certain cases a particular hand does not have to leave the instrument at all. Actually seeing that approach in motion hammered that home. It seemed that very few of Benny's fingers left the clarinet at times, even in up-tempo numbers. Seeing the undisputed master doing it is a great inspiration. And, yes, I know about his personality, warts and all, but as Jess Stacy says in the video, when you hear him, all is forgiven.
This DVD production is about the life and times of musical great Benny Goodman. It is not a presentation of complete performances. It would have been nice to have had at least several complete performances from beginning to end , perhaps as bonus tracks. However, the clips that were briefly presented were fabulous. Other reviewers have stated in more detail the specifics of this DVD especially all of the collaborations of the other great musical talents of the time. This is a must have DVD for Benny Goodman fans. I will only give this 4 stars because of the annoying way the clips were edited.

What kid doesn't love Elmo? I could take him or leave him but my son seems to think he's great. This video is OK but I think they could have fit more songs into it. Get rid of the pointless Whoopi Goldberg and Julia Roberts segments (my son gets scared of the Julia Roberts part for some reason)---it's Elmo trying to scare Julia and I think my son gets scared......Other than that....is this really the 'best' of Elmo? I don't know......
I had the this on VHS for my older sons. My youngest son loves it and asks for "Elma" repeatly throughout the day. I also purchased Elmo's World dvds, but he MUCH prefers this one. If you only get one Elmo dvd, make it this one!
TheSesame Streetcharacter has fun singing some catchy new songs (you and your toddler just might, too), explaining the difference between light and heavy, having a laugh over pictures and numbers, and sharing the screen with a good-natured Whoopi Goldberg and Julia Roberts. Hotel for Dogs was a great movie. My grandchildren and I watched this together and we absolutely had a ball. The kids enjoyed it very much. It was wonderful hearing their laughter at the antics going on. I highly recommend this movie!
Kids love dogs. How else to explain the success of last December's Marley&Me or this nondescript comedy based on the Lois Duncan bestseller? In it, two foster kids secretly adopt a dog and when he runs away, they find him in an abandoned hotel along with a few other strays. Naturally, they decide to care for all of them and hilarity ensues. By the way, if you enjoyed the book, a sequel is coming out soon. I'll bet a sequel comes out for the movie as well.
Another one to share with the kids--and the dogs will pull at your heart strings too. Made me want to run down to the pound and adopt the lot of them...

There is something else to this movie. Something between the lines. A counterpoint message that whispers to the soul.
I first watched this movie when I was little with my Mom. I grew to love it and have always wanted it. I got my youngest daughter to watch it with me...and the tradition goes on...she loves it too. I love to watch it over and over...it's like an old friend coming to visit and comfort.
This is a timeless "chick-flick"...The movie has no off-color language or scenes, the humor is subtle but still, well, humorous! I love well-done romantic stories and this one is beautifully composed including the acting. I can see where it was easily expanded into a TV series, which was equally as loved. I suspect it was canceled because the viewing public and TV producers became more interested in harsher "reality" programming.
I absolutely loved watching this movie. Great performances by every one invovled, very sweet story line - almost thought the heroine would marry the man of her dreams(a suave charming George Sanders), without giving too much away. I only thought the ending was rather cheesy, could have been more subtle and something coudl have done about Rex Harrison's appearance as a ghost, he looks too human. I absolutely loved the beach scenes although in black and white, and Gene Tierney's looks and costumes would wow any girl to this day.Definitely a keeper.
This story will move all people that have a wish tto find true love , even if it does take a lifetime to receive a gift so perfect.

These altoids are difficult to find in stores. I discovered them from a store in WA but after moving to AZ I couldn't seem to find them anymore&will readily admit, I MISSED them.

They do have a bit of a 'bite' if you chew them but otherwise are pleasantly tingling as they dissolve.

Of course you do need to be a 'ginger' fan to appreciate them as much as I do.

Highly recommended for ginger lovers.

Taste is awesome, real natural flavors. I brought some to work and everyone asked me where I got them from.
So, I bought these to suck on during my natural labor. Boy were they tasty! They are delicious and organic, what could be better? Also, I have used them for my baby when she gets her vaccinations. The hospital staff dripped sucrose (sugar water) into my newborn baby's mouth to distract her while taking blood samples from her heel. I was shocked at how she didn't make a peep, but focused on the sweet flavor in her mouth. Now, any time she gets a vaccine, I put one of these into her mouth for 10 seconds and she doesn't even notice the shot. Then I get to finish the lollipop. It's amazing! And, for those that are wondering, I do exclusively nurse my baby and the sucker hasn't affected that at all.
I love these! My son loves suckers but I rarely let him have them until I found these. I actually feel good about giving them to him. They taste amazing and best of all no artificial colors flavors etc! I recommend these to everyone!
Got these on sale. Not usually an all natural ingredients kind of guy, but must say, these lollipops are amazing. Bought two 5lb bags. Donated one to our church health fair that my wife organized. She wanted something for the kids as give aways. They were absolutely popular with them. Personally, I think they are great. My favorite are the blood orange flavor. My least favorite are the blueberry. The pops are sweet, but not over the top, and have just enough zing (tartness) to appeal to grownups. This is a nice assortment. I keep them on the coffee table to grab one when I need something sweet. Great product that you can feel confident that the kids (and yourself) will like and also know that it is all organic.
I LOVE these lollipops, and have never tried a flavor I didn't like. I definitely appreciate the lack of high fructose corn syrup and artificial colors when I'm looking for an occasional treat to satisfy my sweet tooth!

If you want to be minty fresh buy this product. This is the best gum in the world.
We enjoy the Altoid gum not only for it's obvious minty and breath freshening flavor. My husband does a lot of driving and he finds that the big hit of flavor and pleasing crunch of the coating helps keep him alert and refreshed. We also find that because of the strong mint, it also sometimes soothes a troubled tummy. Plus it's not a giant wad of gum in your mouth. We've grown quite attached to that tasty little pebble.
Not like the mints at all. Flavor doesn't last long and completely breaks down shortly thereafter. I chew a case of em a day at work alone.

I am a life long consumer of Altoids. I have tried every flavor they have come out with in the last 25 years but my devotion to the brand could not make me appreciate this branch of the flavor.

It was so strong. Half Peppermint and half chemical bleach. I chewed no more than the first two pieces. I threw the rest away.

This is a wonderful hat, but the sizes need to be remarked. We initially bought the 6-12 month size based on reviews about the sizing. It is entirely too large. We then bought this hat for our baby at 3 months. She is 4 months now, and it is too tight for her head (50th percentile head circumference). The hat is really for 0-3 months. If your kid is between 3-6 months, you are out of luck because there is not a size that fits.
I purchased this for my daughter. She is now 8 months old and the hat is STILL TOO BIG. It covers her entire face when I put it on her. It would have been great during the winter months (if it fit) but she gets mad when the hat falls over her eyes. I still gave it 3 stars because it does seem pretty warm. I wish I would have known this product runs big so I could have purchased the smaller 0-6 month one.
Definately a good buy if you plan to purchase the bundle-me. It keeps your little kid's head warm while the bundle-me keeps everything else warm. Just don't forget the mittens!

This sauce is phenomenal. It is not runny or overly vinegary (like most low carb sauces). It clings to the meat very well. And a little goes a long way. Personally, I prefer to cook the meat with a good rub and finish off in the last few minutes with Smokin' Joe Jone's low carb sauce.

Our favorite mustard for sandwiches, hot dogs, hamburgers, deviled eggs, just about anything. It has the zip of mustard combined with sweet onion. Perfectly yummy. For some reason, I can't find in in stores. Thank you, Amazon!

For whatever reason, the grocery stores where I live have suddenly stopped carrying this mustard. I thought French's might have discontinued it again, but I found it was still available online.

I never have cared for regular mustard, which has too sharp a taste, even a little sour or vinegary. My mother knew this mustard growing up, but it disappeared from shelves for many years. When I was a kid, it reappeared in one grocery store in our town; we'd make a special trip just to go get it. That's when it was known as "onion bit mustard" (I still miss the real bits of onions; I guess they don't squeeze out of a plastic bottle).

This mustard does not have a sharp, tangy bite to it like regular yellow mustard. It is, obviously, sweeter and more mild. It's the only mustard I ever use for hot dogs, hamburgers and sandwiches. When I was living in Ireland for a summer, I made my mother mail me a bottle so I could have it with my hot dogs!

I ordered this for my mother's Mothers' Day gift. She loves good chocolate, and shares my disillusionment with Godiva. This chocolate is wonderful! I tried the milk chocolate, and found it to have a full chocolate flavor with the slight creaminess I love in milk chocolate. My mother tried the Sao Tome, and pronounced it "excellent". We will buy this again.
I ordered this as a thank-you gift on Monday morning--it's Wednesday AM and it's already been delivered! I'm impressed!

I've only eaten the dark chocolate with nibs in any quantity, as I can't eat dairy anymore, but it was definitely the best bar chocolate I've ever had. It does melt in your mouth. I've had bits of Leonidas filled chocolates and they're perfectly delicious. So many million times better than Godiva, for example. This was a great deal and a perfect present.

I really think that M&D do a great job with puzzles for kids. The colors and graphics are pretty and my 2 1/2 year old son loves it. He opened yesterday and spent at least 2 hours playing with it. He even took it to his room because he didn't want to stop playing and this morning he was ready to take it to school. I just have a minor observation about the low quality of the laminate in some of the pieces. When he tries to pull some of pieces, the laminate starts peeling. I just hope the they don't come fully apart. He seems to have a blast so I want to order a second one....
I got this puzzle for my 3 yr old last week after getting frustrated with a different puzzle from a different brand that was flimsy. This puzzle is nicely made from thick wood. The pieces still stay together unlike the cheaper brands with which we have played. The colors are attractive for a toddler, pretty for an adult, and the puzzle is great for reviewing the names of animals with a toddler.

I plan on ordering similar puzzles from Melissa and Doug in the future.
We bought this puzzle as a Christmas present for our two year old. The problem with this puzzle was evident as soon as we got it out of the package. While the back of the puzzle is wooden (like other M&D puzzles), the picture was printed on paper and adhered to the wood before the pieces were cut. When we disassembled the puzzle for the first time, we didn't notice that the puzzle pieces didn't get gut all the way through the paper, so when we separated the pieces the paper got torn, taking some of the design with it. We were very disappointed, especially considering the quality of product we've grown accustomed to receiving when purchasing M&D products. Our son still likes it and plays with it fairly often.
I was disappointed in this puzzle. It didn't seem to be up to Melissa&Doug's usual high standards. The puzzle pieces were flimsier than I thought they would be, hard to separate and hard to push down into place. However, the artwork is beautiful and I think my 3 yr old will enjoy it in the near future.

WE LOVE this game. When I ordered this puzzle the product description said "wood" and "hand painted", the customer reviews also raved about these features. When I got the puzzle I was very disappointed to find that the puzzle pieces are MDF board (compressed wood dust) not wood or even plywood, and the puzzle board was MDF and plywood. Additionally they were not painted at all but had paper stickers that immediately started tearing off. My kids and I played with the new puzzle right before bedtime and started coughing from all the dust, they were up half the night with this cough. My eyes felt like they had grit in them, my nose itched and I was coughing too. I don't know if this is because the puzzle was still dirty with dust from manufacturing or if the MDF will always shed dust. Either way my kids won't be playing with this again.
This was my daughter's first Melissa and Doug chunky puzzle and still one of her favorites. It introduced her to these durable, colorful and easy to manipulate puzzles. She played with it before she was one-year-old and still plays with it as a two-year-old. I recommend all of these puzzles to everyone and frequently get them as gifts.
My son loved this and now my daughter does, too. Its neat how the pieces will stand up. Very durable. Great first puzzle.

This is a great puzzle, and it is very well made. My daughter started playing with it when she was about 18 months old. Even though she couldn't always put the pieces in the correct spot, she still loved to play with them. Now that she is 2 yrs old, and able to complete the puzzle with ease, she likes it even more. I am trying to buy a puzzle rack to accommodate this and a few other Melissa and Doug chunky puzzles. I hope they will fit.

I purchased the Anco 3111 because other auto websites said this was a replacement for the rear wiper blade of a 2002 Jeep Liberty. Guess they were wrong!! It has the wrong clip and would never work correctly. I should have went by the Amazon site which said it DOES NOT fit my vehicle. Guess I'll try another blade!

You should read all three books. I am reading the last book in the series now: Feels Like Family. I loved them all.
A Slice of Heaven made me snort and laugh out loud! Startled myself a couple of times. Not great literature, but sure is a lot of fun!
I really enjoyed this book and the characters. I felt really engaged with the characters and concerned about their outcomes. When I bought "A Slice of Heaven", I didn't realize it was the middle book of a trilogy. I took it to read during a cruise, then bought the first and third books the very next day after I got home.

I would imagine some readers won't empathize with the storyline about eating disorders, but I found it "novel" for a romance novel and I applaud Sherryl Woods for tackling this tricky subject in an interesting and honest manner.
Don't waste your time on this novel. I forced myself to read about 35 pages before I couldn't read anymore. I thought this novel has extremely cheesy dialogue and characters. The plot is predictable. Per the description on the back, the main character (Dana Sue) rekindles romance with her ex-husband Ron after their daughter Annie is hospitalized due to complications from an eating disorder. Personally I think the adulterous husband who makes a 360 turn-around is neither believable nor appealing in a romance novel. Please note, that I have NOT finished reading this book, thus the plot may get better as the book goes on. Doubtful, but possible.
Dana Sue might run the best little restaurant in Serenity, but when you're feeding a small town of neighbors, busybodies and best friends, things can get a bit hot in the kitchen. Never mind that sh's putting on too many pounds (an occupational hazard for a chef)—sh's worried about her too-skinny teenage daughter, Annie, who has been slowly starving herself since the loud, suitcase-tossing, name-calling fit on her front lawn that left Dana Sue minus one cheating husband.

But sometimes life picks strange ways to mend fences. When Annie lands in the hospital, Dana Sue reaches out to the man she loves to hate: Ron, the husband who took her heart when she tossed him out. Ron is still Annie's white knight, even if h's decidedly more tarnished in Dana Sue's eyes. But he still looks good enough to eat, and maybe, just maybe, to forgive. Once, Ron made the mistake of letting go without a proper fight. But now Dana Sue is about to get another taste of sweet devotion from a man tired of feeling like a fool, hungry for that slice of heaven he found with her.—

Thanks to former "critics", and to the author for a life-changing look into aging, nursing homes, and life beyond youth. My 100 year old grandmother recently landed in a care home with a broken back, a kidney infection, advanced arthritis, and is now legally blind. She has, as she puts it, "all her marbles", and after nearly half her life independant (and having lived in Africa as a dorm mother for 6 years), this has been a terrible adjustment. She's moving to a better care home in our town this week. I ordered the book because it's where I'm living right now. In the moment. As I type, her clothes are in the wash for the move.

It has been a troubling, heart-wrenching journey. This past weekend we visited her former apartment, where she'd lived for more than three decades, to gather the clothes and things for her new life in the care home in my town. What does this have to do with the book?

I have a new understanding of what some of her feelings might be. Through Margaret and Lorraine, I have an idea of how to "be" when I am with her, which can be more frequently now that she'll be close. I understand the importance of dignity, and the indignities of growing old. I have already spoon fed her at times, but now will be more mindful and thankful when doing so. And I'm shopping for some new clothes for her. Looking good still matters to many women, regardless of age.

Many of us didn't have a Lorraine in our lives. We may have known a few Margarets or Bernices. Some of us are Anns, and some are Aprils, and a few are Rhondas of the world. Some may even be Connie's or Atheas. Some might be Clayton's wife... or Alvin, or Clayton, or Mike or whomever. What this book taught me is whether or not your're one of the above, there is a process.

As I read, I smiled, laughed, and--yes--cried. That's the mark of a powerful novel in my experience. One that you read into the wee hours of the morning, until your eyes burn and will no longer cooperate. A novel you then dream about and finish reading when you wake up.

My favorite line in the book (I won't hint or tell, find it!): "If you ever want to feel full in this life, you're gon have to ask if you might be made for somethin bigger than yourself. And when you can answer that, the only other question is what are you gon do about it."

I'm buying more copies of this novel to leave with staff at the care center my grandmother is moving to in town. I'm not parting with my own copy. And I hope to always carry this particular story with me. Thank you again to Mr. Johnson, to former reviewers, and to Amazon.
A very gifted author. I was surprised that a man could have the insights into these characters. I laughed and cried while reading this book. I look forward to his next book.
I loved this book. So sweet, funny, insightful and beautiful. The women in this book are delightful. I love how he told the story from each womans perspective. I hated to finish the book. Hard to believe that this is his first novel. Hopefully, he has started writing a second book.
I love books that make me want to copy phrases from it to read later and to think about in quiet moments. This book had PAGES of things I wanted to remember. A thought-provoking message about the way we treat the elderly in this country, but not "preachy" or offensive. It leads you gently through the lives of several women who intentionally or unintentionally learned to love each other and help each other through the rough places in life. One of my favorite passages was that "old and sick come to all of us, whether we invite them or not". Maybe as I age that has become even MORE meaningful. I highly recommend this book and I hope that the author writes many more for me to read.
First of all, I received my book in excellent condition in a very timely manner. It is a wonderful book which I originally saw reviewed in Southern Living and couldn't wait to read. Take a gander at what the future may hold for some of us, you may want to rethink some things now!

My students love this book. It is gross, which hooks them all in, but not gross enought to make it inappropriate. It also teaches kids about being different and trying to change the world for the better. A fun read. My only complaint is that I felt there were some grammatical errors in the book.
Sweet Farts
What kid won't pick up a book that has "Farts" on the cover? I know as a teacher and grandmother I'm always looking for a well written book that even reluctant readers will engage in. Well "Sweet Farts" hooks kids with a very funny story line, lovable characters (I'm especially fond of the grandma), authentic connections to science and social studies (who would have ever thought that Benjamin Franklin really DID write about farts!) and the universal theme of making the best out of a bad situation. I hope this author continues writing about Keith growing up and solving real problems.

GREAT KIDS BOOK! I bought this book for my nephew who is 12 and he loved it! I ended up reading some of the chapters with him and we were both cracking up. It was an easy read and really sparked his interest in reading for fun. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a fun book for young readers.

For what the big studios would spend on dry cleaning for a picture, Archibald Gips has delivered a slightly crass but sweet comedy that speaks some essential truths about dating and relationships. Production values are excellent and the performances are solid. A far superior film to supposed king of recent romantic comedies, "Sleepless in Seattle" (a movie that was insulting to both Seattle and sleeplessness).
If you don't have any brains whatsoever, this film might not be for you. However, if you enjoy and appreciate intelligent comedies, you'll dig "Loveless." This film is unique in the sense that Dave, the lead, is a self-proclaimed womanizing a-hole. He actually is somewhat of an anti-hero. It's a joy to watch his transformation as Kelly, his college crush that broke his heart, attempts to transform him back into a gentleman. The film is not an Oscar winner, but provides it's audience with countless memorable moments, and a conclusion that is both original and fulfilling. Creator Archie Gips is a true auteur, and has created characters that are fun and relatable. The direction had just the right touch, and worked extremely well with the tone of this film.
This is a very funny, topical movie about today's dating scene. I guess you could say it tries to do for the current time what Swingers did for the 1990s.

Like Swingers, it features a charismatic womanizer who ends up being a bit of a softie when he meets the right woman (the beautiful Brittany Daniels).

This movie makes great use of lots of real L.A. locations, and has a very warm, glossy look to it. The humor ranges from subtle to 'Something about Mary' style slapstick the acting is strong overall. Also, a lot of the biggest laughs come from the the supporting actors, which is a pleasant surprise.

The movie also has a lot of interesting insider information about the insane world of 'reality' television.

I'd definitely recommend this film for fans of romantic and dating comedies. Think Wedding Crashers, American Wedding, etc, but with more more topical references.

I was able to view this film prior to it's release. It is much better than your average romantic comedy and it's got it all: romance for the gals and lots of laughs for the guys and an ending that satisfies. This film is direct to DVD but is better than most of the stuff that's making it into theaters. If you want to have some laughs and watch an entertaining film then, by all means, get this movie. I've already ordered a copy for my library.
Anyone who's experienced the L.A. dating scene will recognize the people in this puckish satire of contemporary sexual morays. Archie Gips, the writer/director of "Loveless," used to produce for "Blind Date," so he knows from dating humor! Highly recommended.

The only reason to buy this game is so you can tell people you own the worst game ever created for the PS2. Seriously, this game is even worse then Britney Dance beat.

At least in their PS1 magic mall game the characers looked like Mary Kate and Ashley. This game is way too cartoony. On the box it says something like real games for real girls. What an insult. This game is as dumb as rocks. You play games like hide and seek with 4 people. I can't imagine that anyone could play an entire game without getting bored.

My daughter is 7, and has not been in a stroller for several years, but we were making our first trip to Disney and several of my friends highly recommended that we have a stroller. They had just announced the swine flu had been diagnosed in a Disney visitor, so renting one from them didnt seem like a good option(they are very uncomfortable looking for the children, too)
I searched and searched for a higher acceptable weight stroller. I only intended on using it for the seven days we were at Disney, so spending several hundred wasnt a good option for me. I came acrossed this stroller and it looked like a great option.
I was very pleased with my purchase.
It was very easy to put together, finished within minutes. My daughter is very tall, so of course she didn't need the tray, and she couldnt stretch her legs straight, but she could sit very comfortably and we easily maneuvered thru the crowds and had plenty of room in the under basket. We easily folded the stroller and carried it on the tram with us to the park with no problems.
I would recommend this stroller for anyone looking for a jogging stroller.
We've had the jogging stroller for about a month and love it! We have taken it on walking trails and around our neighborhood and it was a smooth ride for my one-year-old son!. It is bulky and a bit of a pain to fold up and unfold, but it gets easier the more you do it. I definitely recomment it!
I believe this product is unsafe to use. After using regularly for one week, the front nut that holds the front wheel becomes loose, giving the stroller a speed wobble that will turn the stroller onto its side. I have called InStep, which informed me that you should tighten the bolt before using (DOES NOT STATE IN THE DIRECTIONS). I did tighten the bolt only for it to become loose during a run again and create speed wobbles. I have returned the product to Sports Authority on three separate occasions with the same outcome. This is HIGHLY dangerous. I currently have a call to their customer service manager for hopefully a better response. I believe this product should be taken off the market ASAP.
This stroller is good for the money you are spending. We wanted one stroller for our daily getting around needs and the light jogging we do about two/three times a week. This stroller is good. We live in a big city so we are jogging on sidewalks that could use some repair. The front swivel wheel does shimmy when not locked which is just very annoying. and it could use some shocks. Overall, my daughter seems ok with it. We had the Jeep for the first year of her life and that stroller was ok but not for running but we had some alignment and tire problems with that stroller so wanted to get rid of it. Just tossed it. Overall I wish at the beginning we had purchased a BOB revolution because every person I have spoken to has said they love theirs. The instep is fine but nothing to rave about. I am very tall so the adjustable handlebar is a nice feature. The sunshade is just ridiculous and the cup holder are almost laughable. They hold almost nothing but a small thing of water. The basket is a nice size though. You get what you pay for which is sad because this stroller is not cheaply priced.
I am very pleased with this stroller. It was easy to assemble and so far we have not had any problems with it. We were also happy to receive it so quickly. We had it within a matter of a few days.

I really wanted these shoes but live in Hong Kong...
I read all the reviews, including those on the Keen site and I was worried I would get a pair that didn't fit right, especially as these are my first Keen shoes.

However, I chose the size I always wear and they fit perfectly...I would advise choosing a shoe size based on your "closed" fit shoe but not sneakers or hiking boots...

The shipping was a bit pricey but the shoes came within a week and are perfect, so worth every penny! I would definitely order them again in more colours.
I own many pair of Keen shoes and love them. I bought this pair in black and put my own arch support insoles. It feels very comfortable; however, it does stretch over time and become loose. Now I wish I order half size smaller.
This is my first pair of Keen shoes, and it won't be my last. I bought the shoes in port royale and love that they go with just about anything. I can wear them at work with a dress and with jeans on the weekend. They are also machine washable too which makes them ever the more better.
I had back surgery two years ago, and can't wear certain shoes for long periods of time. However, I find that I can wear these shoes all day, without complaints. I find that the support in the shoes is fine, but for some, insoles might be needed.
While they may be a bit pricey to some, I find that I am willing to pay for a shoe that I know I will love and would want to purchase again. I have gotten a lot of compliments on them, and recommend these shoes to anyone who wants something that is casual, stylish, and comfortable.
I love these shoes. In fact I bought a second pair in a different color. I have narrow heels and the band across the top helps keep the shoe on my foot. These shoes are roomy. My daughter, who has a very wide foot, bought a pair and they even fit her. However, she had to take the insoles out for them to fit. They are VERY comfortable. The only negative is they don't have a ton of support. But you can't get everything from one shoe, usually.
I really love these shoes and got them in green. They are surprisingly nuetral in color and go with a lot.My only gripe is that they are very flat, had to get arch supports. I have worn them almost everyday since getting them.

I own about a dozen Keen Sienna Ballerina in different colors..... and in 2 different sizes depending on what season I wear them. Very practical to use in Manhattan because you never know what the weather gets to be... rainy or drizzly...it keeps feet dry..!! I look where they are available on-line and purchase them for myself and for my daughter who does keep them also in Connecticut where she does for college,... she has about 6 pairs of her own! What will I do when the Sienna Ballerina is all gone .... replaced by the newer ugly Keens????

I adore these shoes! I expected nothing less from Keen; however, they DO RUN A SIZE SMALL. I am a consistent size 8 but took the advice of other reviewers and ordered an 8.5. Good thing because an 8 wouldn't have fit. Roomy in the toe and very comfortable shoe.
This is a sweet and comfy ballerina shoe for women on the go. I bought these shoes to wear on a trip to Europe this summer because they are comfortable and yet stylish. My only complaint: the "mineral blue" shoes I ordered arrived looking a lot more like seafoam green....there really is no blue tone at all. I'll probably order another pair in a more neutral tone. Great shoe!
