I'm a gardener, and have planted many seeds which grow into beautiful plants.
So, I don't think I did anything wrong- water, temperature, ph and fertilizer were all considered, yet this basil DID NOT GERMINATE. Hirt's Oregano however, is growing strong.
Perfect for pesto because of its concentrated flavor, the medium-large leaves have a fine, sweet fragrance. Spicy, edible flowers accent a salad. Tall, relatively uniform, slow to bolt. Sow 1-2 seeds per inch in garden when danger of frost has passed, or start indoors 4-6 weeks before last frost date. Requires warm conditions for germination and growth. Basils are very susceptible to cold soil and frosts. Harvesting tips. Pinch off flower heads to keep productive. Harvest leaves during season, entire plant first frost.

My 3 year old son who is a very big Thomas the train fan loves this movie.He has a copy of an old Thomas the train music cd and this movie has alot of songs that are on the cd so to him it's like watching a music video.
I think this is a great movie for those that like thomas music. I let my two year old watch it and he seems to enjoy it because it still shows the trains and sodor island. It is a good movie for those kids that like music and thomas.

I first found the Praise Baby series at a local Christian bookstore, and purchased one. However, the cost was prohibitive, so I was unable to get the entire set- until I found them here! They are SO good!!
My son is absolutely entranced with every one of these in the series, but this one in particular (perhaps because it's the newest to him) seems to be his favorite. He's 13 months old now, but has been watching them- as I sing along to the songs and get some housework done while he's at it!- since he was only 5 months old, and he loved them just as much then.
Now, however, he laughs back when it shows the babies in the film laughing, he'll play "peekaboo" along with the actors, and bobs his head to the music.
This is a wonderful DVD! The footage is mostly of children, and is quite beautiful. Also featured are animals and nature scenes, a variety of contrasting patterns which fade in and out, and the introduction of some letters and numbers. It is very refreshing to watch! This DVD is in direct contrast to the Baby Einstein DVDs, which are all about toys and puppets, ads and product placement.

The music is very well done, a thoughtful mix of contemporary songs and hymns. You can choose to hear instrumental alone, children singing, or a "mommy" voice. The female vocalist is very talented and has a lovely voice.

There is a calming atmosphere to the DVD, and the footage of the children is very touching. It really portrays God's love for children. It is a DVD that inspires me to worship Him, while also having a special time interacting with my child.
Having noticed the way my daughter loved watching the "Praises and Smiles" DVD we already had, I decdied to purchase this DVD for her 2md birthday. I was not disappointed. This DVD captures her interest as much as the other DVD and I find the uplifting songs to be a much more useful way for her to learn the songs we do in church, than just hearing them at church. Having listened to her try to sing the songs from "Praises and Smiles", I know she will pick these ones up as well.
If your child is a music-lover, this DVD will be a great addition to any collection.
My one year old daughter loves this DVD. I got it for her birthday and it has been the first thing for us to really let her intentionally watch on the TV. As soon as it comes on, she just stops what she's doing and looks to the TV. She will even climb up in my lap and sit still through a couple songs.

The songs have good vocals and production. It sounds like a normal adult praise CD that I would have listened to before I had kids, so I find it very enjoyable too.
I much prefer these movies to the Baby Einstein movies. I love that my children are listening to praise music. And if I don't want my children to watch TV we just listen to the music without the TV on. It is also very uplifting for me to listen to while my children are playing.

This set features all of the songs from their 2,000 concert, which aired live on HBO. From start to finish is an amazing 90 minute show full of *NSYNC goodness. *NSYNC soars on the ballads, and gets fans pumped with their high end energy numbers mixed with spot on choreography, and pyrotechnics. *NSYNC has the right formula.
A contest during the show, leads to annoying few moments. A group of all girls, in their teen years are shown, think "Total Request Live" dancing, declaring their loyalty, and then shrill screams ensue. This imagery gives the group an unfortunate appearance, after a successful management and label break.

This concert was filmed in the early "2000's".
It grabs you from beginning to end. I was not an N'Sync fan and happened to stumble across this performance on HBO.
It's energetic and entertaining. There are multiple costume changes and dance routines for literally every single song.
It made ME tired just watching it!!!!!

Of all the concert dvds and real life concerts I've been to, this is probably the closest you can get if you want to chill on your couch and be part of this thrilling concert. This DVD is amazing, nsync is amazing. I'm not their top fan, but I truly enjoyed the music, and the incredible dance moves. It makes me want to jump up and dance with them! All five of them look great, esp Justin with his curly hair and bandana. They are very adorable, they enjoyed the concert and so did everyone. Watching the concert makes you feel like you are sharing a part of their incredible happiness and fortune, it's sad, but for a spur of moment, it is close to sublime.
This is really NSYNC at their highest point when they did the Madison Square Garden concert in NYC on HBO! I was in Brooklyn listening to it on Z100 on simulcast when I was there on vacation! On the DVD, it is a phenomenal show, with loads of fireworks blasting on many of the songs. They did a lot of the songs from the No Strings Attached album as well as some cuts from the debut. The best performance is It's Gonna Be Me, which the band played so good live! Followed by the big grand finale of Bye Bye Bye, and numbers such as This I Promise You, Digital Get Down, I Thought She Knew, the '80s looking set during Just Got Paid, the jazzy I Drive Myself Crazy and many others. Justin Timberlake still sounds strong vocally and JC Chasez is also that good in his leads. They put a lot of effort into this show and the stage, lights, and strobe lights are massive, which could rival some of KISS' concerts! While most of the audience were teen girls, I noticed a lot of adults in the audience and many male fans too dancing to the music! They really expanded and broadened their audience with this album as well as their music. One of the best concerts to open in the 21st century!

The taped show itself is flashy and professional, full of costume changes and allowing each Sync singer his own lead as they work their way through more than a dozen of their hits, including "It's Gonna Be Me," "Space Cowboy," and of course "Bye Bye Bye." Still, for a group that prides itself on its mildly hip-hop dance styles, the camera work is surprisingly slipshod when it comes to capturing the five boy-toys dancing in unison. I,m watchibg Alice Sweet Alice for the first time. I'm at the scene where she is hooked up to a lie detector after "Alice stabs her Aunt or does she? This is on top of my list of favorite horror films. This movie is very interesting. It's funny when alice drops the lie detector machine on the floor LOL, and the guy says "That little bitch is dumping your machine on the floor". Great film..i recomened everyone who like good suspence, horror and humor to watch it or better yet buy the DVD.
This horror story gets your attention right away. You want to find out what happens since you see Brooks Shields name in the credits. She is around for a while but is gone before the ending credits. Her 1st film I believe. She has a presence even at her young age in this flick. Good to see if for nothing else a historic moment in an actor's filmography(shields).
This 1976 classic pre-slasher flick holds a special place in my heart. There are certain weak spots in the special effects or acting in spots, but over all this is a terrific horror movie. A pre-teen Brooke Shields is marvelous in her cinematic debut role as the ill-fated Karen who is killed a half-hour or so into the movie at her first Communion. Best actress honors (in this flick, anyway) should be awarded to the 13-year-old Paula Sheppard, who is extraordinary in the title role: Alice, the troubled girl who is lashing out at the family and the world who seem to think she should be treated like a second-class citizen for reasons that are revealed in the movie. The pacing is usually well set throughout the film, building suspense in appropriate scenes, casting shadows of suspicion at Alice, making you wonder if she is the killer...and if not her, then who is it??? I've read a few reviews of this movie claiming that there is too much screaming and hysteria by characters, just because they or someone they know got stabbed 6 or 7 times by a long knife. And although I'll admit that the acting and script has occasional weak moments, I have to say that if someone stabbed ME 6 or 7 times with a long, sharp knife, I might be proned to be a bit peeved and scream a little. But that's just me. The occasional poke at Catholic doctrine and dogma are made in this film, but over all, this is a film about people...and human frailty...and insanity! There are some murders, some violence, some blood...but for the most part, none of it is too graphic or overdone. The days of the real slasher movies had not yet begun when this was made. As I said, there are a few weak moments in the script, acting and special effects. But these are minimal. This is a great movie primarily. Suspenseful, with action, not too excessive on the violence, well paced...and even when you know who the killer is, you're still not prepared for the 'killer ending'! So, let me end by saying I highly recommend this movie, (but that's just me) and close by reminding you once again that you are not prepared for the 'killer ending'!
KILLER ENDING!!
I got tired of all the incessant complaining and screaming on the part of most of the characters. It is so bad, that I cringed when someone got killed. Not because of how they died or why . . . but because of all the non-stop hollering. Both killers dress the same, right down to the gloves. Come on. Lame. I thought about giving this movie two stars for pitty sake, but I just can't bring myself to do it. Skip this one.
This movie was originally shown in my native UK as Communion and has also been issued under the title Holy Terror .For my money these are better titles as they convey the religious theme which underpins the movie .

One note of caution at the outset-while Brook Shields gets top billing on the box she is not the star and her character dies inside 10 minutes of the start .The real star of this edgy and dark movie is Paula Shepherd in the title role .

The setting is Patterson,New Jersey sometime in the early 1960's (a JFK poster is prominent in one scene).Alice is a disturbed 11 year old with a penchant for wearing Halloween masks at all times of the year and a propensity for bullying her more timid sister Karen (Shields) .On the day of her first communion Karen is strangled by a figure wearing a mask like Alice's and a yellow raincoat of the type she often wears .The investigating police officer involved ,Brenner(Tom Signorelli)and her Aunt Annie (Jane Lowry)believe Alice is the killer and Annie is soon afterwards attacked by the same figure that killed Karen .She publicly names Alice who is incarcerated in a state juvenile mental facility.

During her incarceration the killing continues -her father being a victim .Alice is released and while the police are baffled the audience is let in on the secret of the killer well before the climax .It is a fervent Catholic who has grudge aginst Alice's family and who is obsessed by one member of the family-a priest .

This is a very dark movie and deeply pessimistic in its conclusions .Alice may be guiltless of these particular crimes but is deeply disturbed and has the potential for violence and lots of it.she is an animal whose claws have not yet grown out but she does have them and her time will soon come .In some respects this movie is a counterblast to The Exorcist .In that movie salvation was found in the rites and faith of Catholicism -and to be precise in Conservative Catholicism ,not the progressive wing as represented by Father Karren.
Here religion is shown as helpless -as murder is done the carvesd Saints and Christ look on helpless .cathaolicism in this movie is not the cure for the problem -it is the cause of the problem and its anti-clerical stance will offend many viewers.

This is a multi-layered and disturbing movie that tells us "nothing is simple and nobody gets saved"
It suggests we are helpless in the face of evil and unless you are willing to deal with that message dont watch the movie

Its a dark and glistening gem but not for everybody

Paula Sheppard is Alice, a pouty, petulant problem child at that awkward age living with her precocious little sister Karen (Brooke Shields) and single mom. When Karen is murdered during her first communion and Alice takes her place in line, suspicion immediately falls on her. Then a diminutive killer in a yellow slicker and opaque mask continues the reign of terror, and Alice's estranged father takes up the investigation to prove her innocence. Director Alfred Sole has acknowledged a debt to Nicolas Roeg'sDon't Look Now, butAlice, Sweet Aliceis really in the Hitchcock mold, a stylish, smartly executed psychological suspense thriller. The violence is rarely graphic but often grueling and always harrowing, and the deaths reverberate through the film in genuine and sometimes hysterical outpourings of grief. Even when Sole reveals the killer's identity in a startling moment halfway through (à laVertigo), the tension never lets up. The original title of the film,Communion, better captures the Catholic elements of guilt, sacrifice, and redemption that become central to the film (another tip to Hitchcock). Only a couple of grotesque caricatures (notably an obese pedophile landlord) and a few rough moments (largely special effects scenes, likely due to budgetary constraints) mar this otherwise intelligent and well executed thriller. The DVD also features an insightful commentary track by director Alfred Sole and editor Edward Salier and an alternate credits sequence (identical but for the film's title), as well as brief biographies and filmographies and a stills gallery.--Sean Axmaker

It was not horrible, but this movie was really cheesy and had no substantial plot. I was rather disappointed. It was worth seeing but only if you get it for a very low price or catch it on t.v.
This movie was very boring and I dint follow the plot at all. I love seeing white men and black women together thats the main reason I watched it.
Bought for only $1.00 at Wal-Mart. Was expecting a poorly made independent film, but was pleasantly surprised by this film. Part romance, mix in a little comedy, a little racial tension and a stellar cast, and you get a good story that is completely watchable and believable. I especially like that the movie ended with the romantic leads going their separate ways, possibly to reunite later. Added a realistic touch.

This was probably the movie before some of these actors hit the big time. Nicely done.
This movie was editted, but I got the jest of the director's point of view. The movie centers around Adrien Body's character who has just been dumped. He is a beginning screenplay writer who works at a restaurant to pay the bills until he is successful. All the character's work at the restaurant. They vary in races and the premise is how they get along with each other.

They movie is okay. I love Adrien Brody, so it was no big deal to watch him. He is a great actor and this role fit him. Elise Neal did a great job as a aspiring singer and his love interest. They movie was good, but not great. It lacked something, that I can' quite put my finger on. It had enough stars with Simon Baker, Lauryn Hill, Brody, and Neal, but something was missing. It is a movie I will watch again.
This heart-wrenching drama focuses on aspiring writer Chris Calloway, played soulfully by Adrien Brody. His past love with an African-American women, played by the exquisitely beautiful Lauryn Hill, haunts his present life, interfering with his artistic creativity, friendships, and current lover. Shadows of racism hinder his ability to truthfully love, truthfully write, and truthfully live.

As we watch Chris and his friends pinball between the things they want to do, and the things they need to do, we begin to relive our own painful experiences in the field of love.

Tensions rise as Chris grasps to make decisions that will forever affect his happiness, for better, and for worse.

Adrien Brody, Elise Neal, Simon Baker,&Lauryn Hill give memorable performances.
Chris (Adrien Brody), an aspiring playwright, pays the bills as a bartender at an upscale New York restaurant and pours his frustrations into his work. Jeanine (Elise Neal), an aspiring singer from a musical family, is the newest waitress on the staff. He's Italian American and she's African American, but the chemistry is there. All that stands between them is Chris's unresolved feelings for his ex (pop star Lauryn Hill in a cameo), the reverberations of his blue-collar father's dinner-table racism, and the unspoken and usually ignored but unavoidable issue of race. Eric Bross (Ten Benny, also with Brody) has a light touch with his ensemble cast--which also features Malcolm-Jamal Warner as a well-spoken law student and Jesse L. Martin of TV'sLaw and Orderas a philosophical line cook--and the thoughtful script. The issues simmer below the surface of the individual dramas, romantic complications, and personal struggles with self-esteem and responsibility that buzz through the restaurant, finally boiling over in a raw but dramatically restrained finale. I first saw this movie as a child. I loved it then. I rediscovered it as an adult and was thrilled to find it on DVD. I have bought copies for myself, friends, and my mom. All have enjoyed it. It is a tear jerker, so if you need to have a good cry, this is your movie. One of the best psrts is Danny Kaye and Louis Armstrong doing "When the Saints Go Marching In". Gives you chills.
I remembered this movie from when it first came out. As I enjoyed it then, I was sure that I would enjoy it now. Danny Kaye does an excellent job as Red Nichols, and the supporting cast is made up mostly of the real musicians. I do not know how true the story is, but it is enjoyable, if a bit maudlin. The music is fantastic.
This one is one of these movies that one remembers to have enjoyed in your youth and for it I wanted to be able to return to see her and to enjoy it. The time has passed but his captivation remains inalterable. In this opportunity Danny Kaye is much more contained that in other movies, which is a point in favor for the picture. I think is worth returning to see it again.
This is the best movie ever. I got it for my mom for christmas because it's her favorite movie and she has never had a good copy. the gift brought her to tears.
Nice band leader story with great music. Danny Kaye and Louie Armstrong perform a rendition of "When the Saints Go Marching In" that is a memorable event in the history of movies! It is reason enough to watch this film.
