I am quite sure any items to be sold in the US, one needs to have instruction in English. This is not the case. Anyway, the instruction was to tell you to be careful in handling this pan - they will be come very hot during cooking.
I used waffle mix and put some red bean paste (Oriental store) as fillings and make some fish cake, very cute. I also used raspberry and blueberry as alternatives. I am going to let my imagination juice flow and seek for some other fillings. (Chestnut paste, sesame paste, berries w/marmalade, custard cream........) Um..... they are so yum yum.
I'd recommend using waffle mix rather than pancake mix - waffle mix gives you a much lighter and fluffier texture. However, if you'd like to have a fish with substance (smile), use pancake mix - the texture is much more heavy. Just like a pancake fish and fillings cannot be easily put into the fish.
Do not put the fish maker on the BBQ, a regular stove top will do the job. Always heat up the maker first for a few minutes and spray with some PAM or spread a bit of butter inside - it prevents stickniess. Turn down the temperature to medium and pour some thin batter to coat the fish maker pan (one side only). Do not over fill. Put your fillings carefully into the center of the fish - they will sink into the batter or you can use a small spoon to help them sink. Pour in more batter to cover the fillings. Close it tight and turn it around to warm the other side. Monitor the temperature as it burns easily.
After 2-3 minutes - voila - here comes 2 lovely fish with yummy fillings splashing onto your table. I make them on the weekends and my friends just love them. They are more popular than the English tea that I usually prepare.
The little fish cake reminds me of my childhood when I spent my early life in Asia. They have so many types of interesting snacks on the streetside!』

Usually ships in 24 hours Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (A Classic For A Christmas Compilation CD) 『This is definitely a classic christmas release despite it being a compilation cd (usually, classics are original recordings like an old LP from a specific year such as 1957 - which is actually the year some of these songs were recorded in).
It's a classic because it's so beautiful. A real old-timey feeling is what you get from this release and it will take you back to christmases of yesteryear (1930's, 1940's, 1950's, 1960's). It's the real christmas music that really touches one deep down. And believe me, every single song here is great and I'm sure you would agree.
Just listen to the many classics here such as WHITE CHRISTMAS. BING CROSBY may have the most classic version of the tune but I'm confident that nobody will deny this is still a classic take of the song.
Or even NAT KING COLE'S most classic take of THE CHRISTMAS SONG. This FRED WARING AND THE PENNSYLVANIANS version is still a classic in itself, one that I think I even like a little more than Mr. COLE'S version.
WINTER WONDERLAND and O HOLY NIGHT continue along this same route with classic versions of both songs. O HOLY NIGHT is even my favorite version of the song as it's just so powerful and beautiful. Again, I'm sure anybody who listens to it will agree that it's a classic take of the song if not even the most classic (such as it is for me). WINTER WONDERLAND is among my favorite versions of the song also. very deep and powerful.
Amazingly, though, I've yet to name the single best song on this cd. That honour goes to RING THOSE CHRISTMAS BELLS. What can I say but simply amazing and classic. After a different type of start to the song (with the sound of a train - perhaps family arriving home for christmas - then JINGLE BELLS is sung for a few moments before...), it really takes off with a very upbeat and cheerful christmas atmosphere that is rarely equaled in christmas music through any era, it for sure is one of my favorite christmas songs ever recorded and a true classic and masterpiece of christmas music.
One of the reasons that there are so many classics here is because FRED WARING AND THE PENNSYLVANIANS are the best chorus I have ever heard by far, at least when it comes to christmas music. While there are other classic chorus christmas albums such as MITCH MILLER AND THE GANG'S 1961 album, HOLIDAY SING ALONG WITH MITCH (which is available as cd and also very recommended), FRED WARING AND THE PENNSYLVANIANS talented and multi-talented (if I can say that) style is just too uncomparable and above the others, plus they perform seemingly perfectly album after album rather than just a single classic one like a one-hit wonder. There is also an orchestra that backs the singers up in several songs which really helps amplify the christmas mood. In fact, the orchestra is really, really good when they go all out in a backing way (one of the resons RING THOSE CHRISTMAS BELLS is so good).
This is a real great compilation christmas cd, all the songs were recorded either in 1957 or 1959, and it is a cd that everybody who celebrates the most wonderful of seasons, christmas, should have in their household. Great for background christmas music when entertaining guests at your home for over the christmas holidays. If you want the best of FRED WARING AND THE PENNSYLVANIANS christmas music, though, check out the two cd set titled CHRISTMAS MAGIC that features two christmas albums of FRED WARING AND THE PENNSYLVANIANS, a 1959 christmas album, THE SOUNDS OF CHRISTMAS, on one cd (with a couple of songs from this compilation cd including RING THOSE CHRISTMAS BELLS) and a 1961 christmas album, THE MEANING OF CHRISTMAS, on the other cd (no songs on this compilation cd). These two albums are the best 'chorus' christmas albums ever recorded, especially the 1961 album (which as mentioned, doesn't even have any songs on this compilation, why, I don't know). Also check out FRED WAING AND THE PENNSYLVANIANS 1957 christmas album (which has many of the songs from this cd) titled NOW IS THE CAROLING SEASON.』

(A Fresh Recording Worth Your Time) 『I caught a few minutes of Sweet is the Melody recently on public television and was really captivated with this music. It has a freshness and transcending beauty to it which is usually missing from popular music. The focus is on the music instead of the performer, and that is rare these days. (The choice of backdrop in the video was also great and reminded me of a children's story I am working on which is set on the north Oregon coast.) In particular, The Island brought to mind a haunting Gaelic melody I heard in the late 1980s. That song told the story of a ship lost at sea in the area of the Isle of Man. I ended-up losing the name of the singer myself in the years to come, so I made sure that I went out and bought this music before I misplaced yet another musical jewel.
I hope that Aselin's future work skirts modern culture just enough so that she continues to offer something fresh, different, and real. After all, the last thing we need is another Britney Spears!
My only comments for improvement on this DVD format are that it is impossible to simply play the songs in order without the dialogue in between. While the interviews and dialogue are great, it would be nice to be able to skip more easily at times. Also, there are a couple of times where there are recording errors which aren't fixed quite right. 』

I immediately got on the net and found out more about this little songbird from the north. I now have both the CD and DVD"Sweet is the Melody"and share them with friends to let them know about this up and coming talent. The CD is very easy to listen to and all the songs are well chosen. The DVD has many features and is good fun. All her neighbors and friends at the concert obviously love her and enjoy her music, as do I. Highly recommend this DVD!』

She has become a show-biz veteran, though her voice is still developing. She has been in the spotlight for a third of her life since her impromptu debut at age 8, singing at a demonstration for miners in Nova Scotia. A film clip shows her at that event, awesomely cute.
She has replaced some of that cuteness with a precocious maturity, a budding professionalism that has not damaged her freshness and spontaneity. The music in this very professional production nearly duplicates that on her first CD, but the visuals are a substantial bonus. She is shown walking on a beach, playing basketball, harmonizing with her dog on "Over the Rainbow," and mingling with the neighbors on Cape Breton Island who seem to have made her a kind of icon.--Joe McLellan』

Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Everything's Coming Up Crabgrass) 『It looked good on paper: Powerhouse performer Bette Midler playing the most famous role in musical theater, directed by Emile Ardolino, the guy who turned "Dirty Dancing" into a national phenomenon. So what went wrong? The truth is, Midler simply isn't a good enough actress to capture the subtleties of as complex a character as Momma Rose. She's all big eyes and broad gestures, waving arms and manic mood swings; it's a community theater performance, going for the obvious at every turn. Is Rose manic and driven at times? Yes, of course; her father calls her a "crazy woman" in an early scene. But from her first entrance, Midler seems to have confused "powerhouse" with "bulldozer." She spits her lines out in rapid succession, with all the bawdiness with which she tells her famous Sophie Tucker jokes in concert. But where's charm, humor, sexiness; all the manipulatively feminine characteristics that make Rose such a seductive, seditious presence in everyone's lives? Rose gets her way not because she beats Herbie, June and Louise into submission, but because her dreams and desires are so strong they have no choice but to believe in them themselves. Auntie Mame is described as The Pied Piper, but it's an apt description of Rose as well. Midler's characterization is so grating, I can't imagine anyone doing much more than running in the opposite direction.
Unfortunately, with the exception of Jennifer Rae Beck's Dainty June and Linda Hart's Mazeppa, the supporting cast is average at best. And however skilled Ardolino is at directing the musical sequences, he completely fails to mine the humor and tension of Arthur Laurents's brilliant dialogue. The production values are first rate across the boards. Personally, I think June's acts are a little over produced; a certain vaudeville seediness would have made more sense. But the producers and Ardolino obviously adore the material -- who doesn't? -- and they've approached it with tremendous love and attention, so it's hard to fault their decisions.
Is this a better version than the 1962 film? Yes and no. It's a far more faithful adaptation, with Laurents and Sondheim's bawdier material intact, but I think the earlier cast is far superior. I know I'm not supposed to like Rosiland Russell because she wasn't Ethel Merman, but I love the performance; for me, Russell finds the perfect balance between Rose's fierce passion and her crushing vulnerability. And Karl Malden and Natalie Wood are superb, the latter fragile and extremely touching. So as a record of the show as originally written, this version is a must for all musical theatre fans. But if you're looking for the definitive "Gypsy" on film -- it ain't been made yet.』
(Campy, artificial, no improvement on the 1962 film, but still GYPSY) 『About the best you can say for Bette Midler's performance is that she does her own singing. And even some of that is sloppy and careless. Her acting is one-note, and she kills her best comedy lines by alternately gasping or screeching them. (Say what you will about Roz Russell, she at least knew how to deliver lines.) We know that Madame Rose's kiddie troupe is getting a bit long in the tooth, but Jennifer Beck as "Dainty" June looks fully thirty years old. Cynthia Gibb is a lovely Louise/Gypsy, but Natalie Wood "aged" more credibly in the admittedly flawed by classier 1962 theatrical film adaptation. Peter Riegert is too mousy as Herbie, so much of the point of a strong man continually knuckling under to Rose's steamroller whim is lost. (When he does stand up to Rose, he seems more petulant than assertive.) Stars are wasted in bit parts, and Andrea Martin unwisely and unsuccessfully tries to be funny as Mrs. Cratchitt (who was played hilariously "straight" in the 1962 film by Jean Willes.)
The production itself looks cheesy and low budget, and the bright crayon colors don't help. Even the lamb was cuter in the earlier movie!
Still, it's an earnest attempt. And with great material like that, it's hard to go far wrong. As many others have pointed out, the adaptation is faithful to the original. But oh, why didn't somebody think to do a second film of GYPSY in the 70s while Merman was still around to do it?』
(FAITHFUL TO ORIGINAL, BUT MIDLER MISSES THE MARK) 『I LOVE the musical GYPSY. I knew that the creators of the original Broadway musical, Jule Styne, Stephen Sondheim and Arthur Laurents were extremely disappointed with the earlier 1962 film version with Rosalind Russell and Natalie Wood. Fair enough. So this TV adaptation is scene for scene, word for word exactly like the stage play script. That is excellent. The score is also one of the most outstanding in all of Broadway history. So, we get the original script and score; but unfortunately, that's all we get. I watched this TV movie with great anticipation. My enthusiam deflated as soon as the less than divine Miss M started singing "Some People." I realized, with horror, that she was not portraying Mama Rose. Instead, she was portraying her idea of Ethel Merman portraying Mama Rose!! To make matters worse, her voice sounds extremely hoarse and coarse. Midler never makes the role her own. Surely, Angela Lansbury, Tyne Daly, and even Rosalind Russell did their own individual interpretations of Mama Rose. If Midler had only thought for a moment about Mama Rose, as the other actresses did, instead of Ethel Merman, she might have had a major triumph. I give Midler credit for giving her all to "Everything's Coming Up Roses" and "Rose's Turn", but the overalll production goes straight downhill because Midler simply doesn't "got the stuff." Curiously, Midler did this TV version just after Tyne Daly won a Tony Award for her performance in a Broadway revival. So, any TV version around that time period should have gone by rights to Daly. I wonder if somebody in Midler's camp pulled strings to make this a Midler Vanity production? I know Russell stole the original film from Merman because her husband was a powerful agent. Even I did not mind Russell over Merman. But Midler seriously misses the mark! I know a thing or two about Mama Rose. I saw Judy Kaye play the role in a brief run in Seattle in 2001. Kaye just blew the roof off the theatre. Patti Lupone is doing a limited three week run in NYC as I write this. Now, that's a Mama I'd love to see. If you want a real powerhouse Mama Rose, skip Midler and go with the CD recordings made by Angela Lansbury (1973 London Cast) or Tyne Daly (1989 Broadway revival) instead.』
(Great rendition) 『I was recently in a production of "Gypsy" and have grown pretty attached to it. I thought this rendition was done quite well, but I prefer the Baby June from the original film and I prefer the strippers from the original film as well. I like Bette's performance the best out of the other Mama Rose actresses from film and/or Broadway.
My only complaint was a small glitch in the DVD that causes it to skip. Maybe a spin on the Disc Doctor will cure it.』
(Ethel Merman, move over!) 『What can I say? Bette Midler is totally superb in the role of Mama Rose! She is fantastic! Even though this was a television special, Ms Midler out performed, and out sang Tyne Daly, had more passion that Ethel Merman, and came neck to neck with Angela Lansbury in acting and singing departments. Some of them (that I wasn't used to) seem extra rum infused than other and the "flavor" of each one wasn't as strong as I would have liked but they are still yummy. They are lower in sugar than some of the other options out there and higher in dietary fiber. They still have the added vitamins of other toddler cereal bars. Overall he could eat worse things for breakfast :-) We use it as a snack on the way to daycare in the morning, he eats his full breakfast later at daycare.
I guess my only complaint would be that the bars do break apart pretty easy. This has lead to tears a few times in the mornings when my toddler is sad that his cereal bar broke. They also don't stand up to being thrown into the diaper bag very well.

The photo on the box shows the stroller with an older toddler, which gave me the impression it would be bigger than it actually is. This stroller doesn't seem to be very durable. It's no more substantial or any better quality than those $9.99 folding umbrella style doll strollers I've seen at WalMart or Target. As a matter of fact, I have one of those I keep at my house for my older grandbaby (she's 2 1/2) to play with. We've had it for nearly a year and it's in perfect condition still.
Although the baby is small, it is the perfect size for a younger toddler to carry around, yet it still seems a bit big to fit in the carrier.
Other than being smaller than I expected, I have no complaints about the cradle.
The size of these toys will be okay for now, but it won't be long before my granddaughter will outgrow them. These toys would be entirely too small for my 2 1/2 year old granddaughter. This adds to my disappointment as I had hoped these toys would be something my younger granddaughter would enjoy for some time.
I bought Fisher Price expecting the quality I've seen in other Fisher Price toys I bought for my own children when they were small. I am disappointed to find this isn't the case.

Sweet" when it first came out (title was weird, wasn't crazy about Be-Ri's hairdo, the beginning of the story was so-so, etc). However, since I loved the Chocolat series, I decided to be patient&give JiSang Shin and Geo's new manhwa series a go.
Now, I can't get enough of it! I adore the main characters and what pops from the pages: laugh-out-loud scenes, unrequited love/s, tension, misunderstandings, love triangles, surprises, and some poignant moments as well. Even Be-Ri's hair is growing on me. =)

INparticular the romance seems forced. The novel maintains a lot of the humor of Cannery Row and one doesnt need to read Cannery Row to enjoy Sweet Thursday though it would not hurt to do so』

(A must read) 『Steinbeck gives birth to fully formed characters about as well as any modern author, and the characters in "Sweet Thursday" are some of the loveliest in literature. They all have their warts; they all have their peculiarities; they all expose a little heart sometimes as well. I'll bet you'll find a bit of yourself in this tossed-salad of humanity. I loved "Cannery Row" and Steinbeck doesn't miss a step in this sequel. You don't have to read "Cannery Row" first, but I'd recommend it. And if you liked "Cannery Row", you have to read "Sweet Thursday".』
(A Slice of Life, Small Town feel in every chapter) 『Sweet Thursday, Steinbeck's second part to Cannery Row, is in many ways an equal and worthy sequel and a pleasure to read. There is simplicity to many of the story's characters, but there is also a deep, symbolic, spirited prose in Steinbeck's writing, making even the simplest idea of life seem grandiose and thought-provoking. It's as if each statement takes on a larger meaning or is a microcosm for life.
Many of the same cast from Cannery Row returns to Sweet Thursday, including Doc, Mack, Hazel and the boys, and then the most relevant new character is Suzy. Suzy comes to town looking for work, and you can tell despite her denials that she carries some baggage with her. Eventually she takes up some work with Fauna and her girls in her brothel, but you can tell this just doesn't suit her. As much as the town takes an interest in Doc, Fauna takes an interest in Suzy, and she gets the urge to try to play matchmaker with Doc and Suzy. While much of the first half of the book deals with Doc speculating on life, Mack and the boys coming over to socialize, or Suzy's orientation into Fauna's business, the novel takes off a little more in the second half, when the town ties to figure out what is wrong with Doc (because even he doesn't know). The second half also focuses on Fauna trying to be matchmaker for Doc and Suzy.
Doc is really the character who drives the story, and many of Cannery Row feel indebted to him: "Doc was more than first citizen on Cannery Row. He was healer of the wounded soul and the cut finger...When trouble came to Doc it was everybody's trouble..." While everyone tries to decipher exactly what has Doc obsessing over writing the paper, and his frustration with it, Hazel, an unlikely hero, decides to try to take some matters into his own hands. While some of the story might be a little predictable by the novel's end, the mean by which Steinbeck is able to arrive there really is the talent in this novel.
Steinbeck has a way with prose, and seems to inject a symbolic nature in even the minutest moments. For instance, the very brief two scenes with the man who is called the Seer are important to the fate of both Doc and Hazel's later actions. There are also many beautiful descriptions of Northern California--Salinas, Monterey, Pacific Grove, Cannery Row. Steinbeck makes setting as significant as its characters. There is a small town feel to the novel, and whether Doc is lamenting over life with Mack with a drink of Old Tennis Shoes, or taking a walk over to his lab, there is a slice of everyday life in every chapter of Sweet Thursday.
