My dogs love this product. It was a lot cheaper to buy it from Amazon than at the local pet store. Quick shipping.
All my dogs enjoy this product. They can't get enough. It is packed with healthy ingredients so I don't mind giving them this treat often. I can't keep up on the orders as they go through them so quickly. They are offered through subscription order on Amazon and you save a good amount. I compared the prices with the local pet supply store and these treats go $5.99+ a bag whereas I am paying $21.34 for six bags and free shipping. I am very satisfied.
My dog Mona just loves her Happy Hips chicken&sweet potato treats. They are not only delicious or so it seems, but they seem to ease the stiffness in her hips. Please keep making them.
These doggie treats are very good (Just ask my dog!) and quite a bit cheaper than purchasing them locally. Same product I had been purchasing at the local pet store but at quite a savings.
I would give it 5 stars but deducted a star due to questionable quality. There were white spots all over the sweet potatoes which worried me as they looked like bacteria or something. I emailed the company and they told me that they had already tested it in a lab and it was found to be starch, which occurs naturally on sweet potatoes. But I still feel uneasy about giving it to my dogs. Why wouldn't they post this info on the bags then?????

(Super cute, durable and exactly what I wanted.)

We had been marking my daughter's height on the wall of her bedroom, but then we moved so I decided it would be better to have a growth chart that we can bring with us. It's very cute and comes with stickers for their birthdays. My daughter enjoyed putting the "I'm 3 today!" sticker up on her 3rd birthday. It folds which is helpful for storing. It is also nice and thick so it seems durable. The only problem I can see is that you can't really mark a height on the fabric area (It is made up of 3 sections of cardboard held together with a fabric so it can fold in 3 very easily). It wasn't a problem for us, though. Overall, it's a very good product.

Very cute growth-chart for our two-year old- but the stickers are not very durable, and she managed to rip-off most of them (even though I super-glued them on)! And since you write dates and/or milestones on the stickers next to the height measurement, now we can't tell the date or event that her height coincides with.
Eeboo is a great company, and this is an awesome growth chart. Incredibly sturdy and beautiful, with magical musical fairies in the tree, and leaves to stick on with the child's age, so you can record the child's growth. Would highly recommend! My son is 3 and it's in perfect condition (got it when he was born.)
This growth chart is so cute and colorful. My one-year old loves looking at the characters and I like the fact that I can fold it up and store it if and when she starts grabbing at things on the walls. The extra stickers are very handy. We're already marked them for her actual birthday, 6-mo, 9-mo and 1 years birthdays.

The card stock is very sturdy and I didn't find any issue with measurements being wrong because of the binding tape.

The story focuses on a family that lives in the outskirts of London where they try to make the most of the life. Andy, the father, works as a supervisor for a large kitchen and he hates his job. Andy is a dreamer that often does not get things done, but always starts countless new tasks as he has aspirations to start something new. The mother, Wendy, works as a clerk in a small boutique that sells children's clothing and she teaches physical education in an elementary school. Through a friend of the family she gets a night job as a waitress in a French gourmet restaurant in order to help the friend to get back on his feet.

Wendy and Andy do what they can to make life tolerable and enjoyable. They make the most of the ups and laugh at the downs. Together Andy and Wendy have raised a pair of twins that are now twenty-something, Natalie and Nicola. The positive Natalie is a hard working plumber who has inherited her hard working attitude from her mother, and she acquired her father's visionary skills as she aspires to go to the United States. Nicole is the opposite of Natalie as she is exceedingly pessimistic, introspective, bulimic, nervous, depressed, and unemployed.

Wendy and Andy's daughters, friends, and self-imposed friends brings them joy and misery. Together they display an intriguing resilience to deal with the issues that trouble them through a positive, loving, and sometimes joking attitude. Their knowledge of life is great as they do not worry over things they cannot control, but they are fully aware that they can control their own feelings towards life whether it is good or bad. Natalie and Nicole become an allegorical example for the good and bad times as they are opposites, and the parents embrace both.

Life is Sweet brings "life" to the audience through the family that experiences both ups and downs. Mike Leigh's creative direction brings the cast together to rehearse before establishing the script. These rehearsals often contain improvisation and suggestions from the cast which results in a unique cinematic experience with characters offering great depth. Leigh truly displays skill and ambition to work in a team atmosphere in order to bring out the absolute best from each individual. The outcome from the teamwork is an excellent cinematic experience as it feels both genuine and it offers some valuable lessons to the audience.

Although I always enjoyed his films, I never fully appreciated Mike Leigh until I heard his commentary on All or Nothing. Since then, I think I have been able to see Leigh for what he is: An incredibly gifted storyteller. I no longer feel the need to search his movies for some overblown message or statement, but rather just allow myself to enter into the lives of the intriguing characters he presents to us, walk with them on their journey, and learn with them as they learn about themselves.

Life is Sweet is generally lighter fare than, say, his much later Secrets and Lies or All or Nothing, but it is no less compelling. The main characters are well-sketched, their humorous idiosyncracies never quite overstepping the mark into caricature (apart from some of the supporting characters, perhaps), and given enough depth and complexity to avoid the impression that Leigh is patronizing towards them (in a way that a lesser storyteller, such as Willy Russell, often appears).

Life is Sweet is very funny, very warm, but also very human and poignant, with a few moments of grittiness. The ensemble of actors, including Jim Broadbent, Alison Steadman and (a very young) Timothy Spall deliver superb performances. Rachel Portman's score veers between the playful and the melancholy, reflecting (creating?) the tone of the film.
In the early '90s when LIFE IS SWEET was released, the film made the top 10 lists of film critics everywhere, including Siskel and Ebert, the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, the Washington Post, and the San Francisco Chronicle. So why hasn't this film made it to DVD??

LIFE IS SWEET is the story of a set of twin teenage girls played by Claire Skinner and Jane Horrocks. You'll recognize Claire and Jane if you're a BBC/PBS fan. Claire played a chef-in-training on 'Chef' and a lady cop on 'Second Sight'. Jane Horrocks is LITTLE VOICE and I believe she played 'Bubbles' in 'Absolutely Fabulous'. Alison Steadman plays the mother in LIFE IS SWEET and she played Mrs. Bennett in 'Pride and Prejudice' (the most recent version with Colin Firth).

Claire and Jane play their parts so well it is hard to believe they aren't real identical twins--even though they play very different characters. The first time I saw this film I thought the same girl was playing both roles (as did Hayey Mills in the 'Parent Trap'). The supporting cast includes many familiar faces including Jim Broadbent, whom I first noticed in 'Widow's Peake' though he also starred in the Gilbert and Sullivan film Mike Leigh produced a few years ago.

LIFE IS SWEET is a story of teenage angst in an English working class family. One of the twins, Nicola (played by Jane Horrocks), has a problem with food. She starves herself when others are around and then gorges and purges in private (anorexia nervosa?). When Nicola and her boyfriend have sex she insists they do it with chocolate. Nicola dreams of taking her life beyond the narrow working-class world she inhabits. The other twin, played by Claire Skinner works as a plumber. She appears to be a practical and level-headed youngster, the kind most desired in traditional homes.

Mike Leigh's best films, including LIFE IS SWEET, are stories about working-class youngsters coming of age (SECRETS AND LIES, CAREER GIRLS, MEANTIME). These tales involve the arrival of the protagonist at a new level of awareness and personal resolution following a period of less than enthusiastic participation in a"hostile"world. In the end, Nicola finds her place in the world she inhabits and that life is sweet.
Unlike with novelists or musicians, I don't often follow the work of particular directors. But Mike Leigh is an exception. His ability to bring out the best in actors--or his willingness to let them alone to do their best--and then form all the performances into a cohesive movie seems amazing to me. But he not only has confidence in his actors; he has confidence in his audience as well. What results are movies on a human scale, intelligent and revealing.
"Life Is Sweet," like "Secrets and Lies," is one of Leigh's more commercial efforts (as opposed to, say, "Naked"). But "Life" is much lighter and funnier. In this story, there are also family secrets, and difficulties and disappointments, but it never strays far from its title argument: that after all, life IS sweet.
Jim Broadbent (Moulin Rouge, Topsy-Turvy) and Alison Steadman (Pride and Prejudice, Abigail's Party, and Leigh's real-life wife) play Andy and Wendy, a middle-class suburban English couple. They're loving and hardworking parents, but still young enough themselves to dissolve into laughing fits on the sofa or tease each other to their horror of their daughters.
Andy produces his own minor crisis when his self-employment ambitions take the form of a ratty refreshments van, sold to him by a hilariously untrustworthy Stephen Rea. At the same time, Wendy takes on yet another part-time job when she offers to waitress at a friend's new restaurant--an episode so filled with Timothy Spall's manic efforts that it really defies words.
But the real story in "Life Is Sweet" centers around Andy and Wendy's twin daughters, in their early twenties. Natalie, played by Claire Skinner (Almost Strangers, Naked) is the calm, dry center of the family storm. It's a tribute to Skinner that Natalie remains so likeable and watchable throughout the movie, given that she rarely changes expression or inflection. But within the family dynamics, her character is absolutely understandable.
Not so much the calm center is Nicola, the other twin. Jane Horrocks (Little Voice, Absolutely Fabulous) turns in another astonishing performance as a young woman paralyzed by her own myriad and mostly nameless fears. You desparately want Nicola to reach out for help, even at the same time you find her infuriating or hilarious.
Bolstering the leads are David Thewlis, as Nicola's bizarre daytime visitor, and, as mentioned before, Timothy Spall and Stephen Rea. To measure Spall's versatility, compare his performance here with "Secrets and Lies." And Rea is always great; here he manages to be both slightly menacing and completely hapless.
With this kind of acting, and Leigh's deft hand with loving slices-of-life, there's very little to dislike about this movie.
Director/writer Mike Leigh's working methods are, by now, legendary. He customarily gathers his hand-chosen cast well before filming begins to flesh out characters on their own based on his outline of events and then encourages improvisation to allow the performer to inhabit the character, rather than a stock, lifeless portrayal. The actors aren't the only ones to benefit from this theatre-like approach to filmmaking; Leigh's core audiences eagerly await each entry to his already estimable canon with great anticipation. While SECRETS AND LIES is more dramatic and TOPSY TURVY more cinematic, for me LIFE IS SWEET is the most memorable of his films. Perhaps its the sweet, world-weary musical score from the wonderful Rachel Portman. Or the concentration on just a few days in the lives of a working-class British family and their small circle of friends. Not to mention the miraculous performances of Jane Horrocks as the anguished Nicola--half of a twin sister set (the sublimely droll Claire Skinner is her offset) and the triumphant, life-affirming work of Alison Steadman (Leigh's real-life spouse) as Wendy, the earth-mother with seemingly limitless patience. Since this film, Jim Broadbent, Timothy Spall, David Thewlis, and Stephen Rea have gone on to great successes in films like ENCHANTED APRIL, THE CRYING GAME, NAKED, SHOOTING THE PAST, BULLETS OVER BROADWAY, and TOPSY-TURVY, establishing themselves as invaluable players in modern cinema, whether in lead or supporting roles.

LIFE IS SWEET may seem to not"go anywhere"in modern terms, but look closely and the delightful, profoundly moving rewards will suprise you and no doubt lead to repeated viewings, even if just to enjoy Ms Steadman's infectious laugh. A must see for fans of British comedy and drama.

You can't help but see Fonzie when you see Henry Winkler in this film...but Happy Days it ain't.

Don't get me wrong, it is a great little b-movie (even the soundtrack is low budget with original 1970s songs trying to sound 1950s). But this film is not the innocent 1950s that Happy Days portrays. It is a straight, in-your-face look at the juvenile delinquent life--a day in the life of four guys in a gang called The Lords.

These guys get together with girls, fight, disrupt the classroom, and ultimately realize that they eventually have to grow up (or at least Sylvester Stallone's character Stanley does).

If you want a good juvenile delinquent film with familiar faces and cool nostalgia, then go to Flatbush with The Lords!

Great movie, takes me back to a time when you could lube your car's engine by rubbing your greasy head up against it.
So glad to have this little gem of a movie on DVD in Anamorphic Widescreen format,the picture is a bit soft and the sound could be better,but this is a very low budget film about life in the 50's(simialr to American Graffiti),so it looks fine enough for me,some better extras would have been nice(all that's included are a very rough looking original theatrical traier and some bios for a few of the stars,and 2 so called bonus trailers for the films Bugsy and La Bamba(,but overall a fine DVD,much better than VHS!!! See Sylvester Stallone before is Rocky role(actully if watch the film,he's starting to bulk up and you even will see him using a hand grip in one scene,hmm getting prepared to go the distance,he would make to classic Death Race 2000 next,next is a pre Fonzie Henry Winkler,also in "Lords" gang are Perry King and Paul Mace,other fimilair faces are also present including Susan Blakely,Paul Jabara,Dolph Sweet,Ray Sharky and Armand Assante spelled in the closing credits as Assanti. This is a pretty good movie. It is pre-grease, for those who are wondering. Grease actually came out a year after this was made. Here's a little tidbit of information, the character Stalone played-Stanley Rosiello, is what the Happy Days crew based Henry Winkler's character-The Fonz, off of.
This disjointed look into the mentality of four not-so bright shop class dropouts is unforgettable in that it captures all the hormonal angst and harmless thuggery of growing up in the 50's. It was a bygone era, where greasing up your hair and riding a motorcycle predated today's sideshows and drivebys. Stallone and King are unforgettable in their honest portrayals without a hint of selfconsciousness. Their girlfriends are as dimwitted as they are. Susan Blakely as the well-to-do girl interested in Perry King plays the role perfectly and honestly. Whether you're a Stallone fan , are into the 50's, or just want to laugh uncontrollably, don't miss this one!
WhenThe Lords of Flatbushwas released in 1974, Sylvester Stallone was still an unknown actor polishing his screenplay forRocky, and Henry Winkler was approaching TV superstardom as "Fonzie" in the first season ofHappy Days. In this modest, low-budget feature, they play second and third fiddle (respectively) to Perry King, whose respectable career, ironically, would never reach such stratospheric heights. As for their costar and diminutive fourth "Lord of Flatbush," Paul Mace appeared in only one more movie after this (Stallone'sParadise Alley), and was killed in a 1983 traffic accident at the age of 33. Such is the random nature of fame and fate.

The movie itself is noteworthy mostly for the pre-stardom appearances of Stallone and Winkler, and a strong costarring role for that most ubiquitous of '70s actresses, Susan Blakely. Despite its amateurish style, muddy sound quality, and rambling scenes that have casual appeal but minimal narrative momentum, the movie is blessed with laid-back authenticity, recognizing the value of awkward pauses and jumpy rhythms of conversation. The ensemble of self-named Lords--four leather-clad rebels in 1957 Brooklyn, moving reluctantly toward adulthood--is solidly cast, and even the most familiar scenes (like making out at a drive-in showingFrom Here to Eternity) ring with engaging truth. Codirector Martin Davidson later covered similar territory inEddie and the Cruisers, and Barry Levinson transcended this shoestring affair with his 1980 classicDiner, butThe Lords of Flatbushstands on its own as an earnest and lightly entertaining drama that boosted its costars to bigger and better things.--Jeff Shannon

I like Woody -- Hannah, Crimes, Broadway, are among my favorite films. But this is clearly a rip off of Felinni's (far superior) masterpiece.
I've loved this movie and the music in it since first seeing it shortly after it was released. Recently I learned that many of the odd little events were not so far from reality being based upon real events in Django Reinhardt's life. The crescent-moon chair is very close to the star that Django had built but then was afraid to actually use. Just as Emmett Ray was a cleptomaniac the real-life Django was skilled at "informal procurement" and was pleased when his youngest son showed a talent for the same. :)

I'm sure that none of us can even imagine the background that Django came from but Emmett Ray certainly brings to life a character that faced equally difficult challenges while having a rough start in life on the American side of the pond. Add in the "ego of genuius" and you have a volatile, yet delightful mix. I've known a lot of Jazz guitarists and Sean Penn's characterization of the fictional Emmett Ray is not all that far from reality.

If you love music, especially Jazz guitar, you will probably enjoy this movie. Also, if you enjoy a character that is clueless, insanely egotistic and ultmately lovable, look no further than Sean Penn's portrayal of the American Django, Emmett Ray.
Woody Allen's "Sweet and Lowdown" (1999), a fictional biopic about "the world's second best jazz guitarist," Emmet Ray is sweet, funny, dramatic, filled with fantastic music and is simply terrific. "Sweet and Lowdown" reminds "Bullets over Broadway" (1994), another Allen's period movie set in the nostalgic area of great jazz and gangsters who understood and supported art and the artists, at least to the certain points. Sean Penn gave IMO his best performance as the man as talented as he was egotistic and self-centered. Creating and performing brilliantly the clear, magical, and melancholic guitar compositions, Emmett Ray (Penn) was also busy with kleptomania, a little pimping on the side, dealing with gangsters, shooting rats and watching passing trains as his favorite hobbies, and also drinking, and chasing girls. Young Samantha Morton who was only 21 and ironically never seen any Allen's movie prior to taking a role of Penn's mute girlfriend-laundress, had to do all the acting with her face, eyes, and body language and was she good. The unrequited tender and all-forgiving love has the face, and that's Samantha's face in Woody Allen's bittersweet, comical and poignant Fake documentary about a true talent which was larger than the man who possessed it.

It may be Woody Allen's second best film, next to Annie Hall and is at least partly responsible for a popular resurgence of interest in the legendary Romany guitar virtuoso, Django Reinhardt. Enough has been written about the film's wonderful cinematography, fine performances by Sean Penn and Samantha Morton and Mr. Allen's brilliant direction. Here I would like to emphasize the real star of the film: the music, as arranged and played by Howard Alden, one of the great new-generation jazz guitarists helping to bring about the revival of jazz Manouche, or Gypsy jazz.

Sweet and Lowdown helped create a new audience for this once ubiquitous European style, the almost singular creation of Django Reinhardt, swing jazz violinist Stephane Grappelli and the other house musicians of the now historic Parisian nightspot, Le Hot Club du France. A volatile amalgam of Romany folk melodies, musette dance tunes and newly-imported American jazz (which arrived in France shortly after 'the Great War') Django's music took fire in the nineteen thirties, surviving the Nazi occupation and thriving well into the post-WWII era. The death of Django Reinhardt in 1953 and the emergence of bebop effectively ended the public love affair with jazz Manouche, which all but vanished as record collectors snapped up the surviving 78s and only a few poorly mastered LP recordings survived.

But Django's solos, his amazing technique and signature tunes would survive over the decades in the Romany caravans from which it came, to resurface in the past decade as the Hot Club Revival, drawing increasingly large gatherings of musicians and fans to Django festivals, Django Jazz camps and nightclubs all over the world featuring Gypsy Jazz Nights. After digitally remastered CDs brought Reinhardt's prolific recordings back to the mainstream and a new generation of jazz musicians discovered the joys of playing this challenging style, the revival took root. Now there is a new generations of Gypsy jazz guitarists such as Bireli Lagrene, Angelo DeBarre, Stochelo Rosenberg and others, who are responsible for keeping the flame alive.

Howard Alden did an amazing job recreating the sound and energy of Hot Club swing, providing a much deeper level of authenticity to what, in the wrong hands, could have been just another shallow period piece. The cars and clothes may have a vintage look and feel, but the music sounds fresh, vibrant and extremely listenable, even to the uninitiated ear.

If you haven't seen this film, you're in for a treat. Afterwards, you may want to venture out to hear more of this incredible music, thereby joining the tidal wave of Django enthusiasts literally sweeping the music world. And that wave isn't cresting any time soon.

Sweet and Lowdown is a masterful film, only let down slightly by sagging in one or two places. Like most of Woody Allen's films, it is rich in comedy, albeit more subtle than some of his earlier efforts. It tells the story of Emmet Ray, the world's second best jazz guitarist in a fictional documentary style, with asides from Allen and others who comment on the protagonist's life. Jazz is one of Allen's consuming passions (as most people know, he is an accomplished clarinet player himself) and partially due to this he admits to a missing nostalgia for the 1930s, missing out on experiencing that period (Allen was born in 1935).

Great art usually comes out of the artist's most personal passions, as a result, Allen reprises the era superbly: the locations, automobiles, jazz clubs, towns and parties are recreated in glorious warmth. The dialogue is sharp, honed down and witty so it slips down like a glass of bourbon. Sean Penn is superb as Emmet, the egotistical guitarist, who plays with a sprightly, engaged look of puzzlement on his face. He cares for no one except himself, 'look, I'm not the marrying sort, it leaves me cold'. Realising that girls go for arrogant, artistically gifted men, he uses his talents to manipulate women. That is, until he meets charming mute laundress, Hattie, who captivates him with her silence. After she makes an unlikely break into Hollywood, Emmet becomes jealous. In turn he leaves her, but realises he has blown his best chance of happiness, and his relationships with other, more intellectually inquisitive women lead to a downhill spiral in his life.

This is a finely written character movie, the escapades of Emmet are brilliantly commented on by Allen, who, as ever, is sublime at parodying those wannabe tough intellectuals who pontificate on low life culture - 'The thing with these emigre stories, you never know how much is made up...' and the acting is first rate througout. Allen does a fine job in producing a film about the perils of artistic genius, which is far superior to his attempt to do the same about Celebrity, in that other lousy epoymous film of his.

Woody Allen makes beautiful music but only fitful comedy with his story of "the second greatest guitar player in the world." Sean Penn plays Emmett Ray, an irresponsible, womanizing swing guitar player in Depression-era America who is guided by an ego almost as large as his talent. "I'm an artist, a truly great artist," he proclaims time and time again, and when he plays, soaring into a blissed-out world of pure melodic beauty, he proves it. Samantha Morton almost steals the film as his mute girlfriend Hattie, a sweet Chaplinesque waif who loves him unconditionally, and Uma Thurman brings haughty moxie to her role as a slumming socialite and aspiring writer who's forever analyzing Emmett's peculiarities (like taking his dates to shoot rats at the city dump). The vignettelike tales are interspersed with comments by jazz aficionados and critics, but this is less aZelig-like mockumentary than an extension of the self-absorbed portraits ofDeconstructing HarryandCelebrity. The lazy pace drags at times and the script runs dry between comic centerpieces--the film screams for more of Allen's playful invention--but there's a bittersweet tenderness and an affecting vulnerability that is missing from his other recent work. Shot by Zhao Fei (The Emperor and the Assassin,Raise the Red Lantern), it's one of Allen's most gorgeous and colorful films in years, buoyed by toe-tapping music and Penn's gruffly charming performance.--Sean Axmaker

'Young @ Heart' is a very entertaining documentary film with a wonderful message. 'Keep moving and keep doing what makes you happy'! The cast of energetic seniors are an inspiring bunch in this bitter sweet story.

I have played in pit orchestras, many rock bands, disco bands, lounge acts(back in the day) studio work, original bands and worked with vocal groups over the past 30 plus years and there is no pleasure greater than working with a creative and talented group in this way. It's an addiction I hope I never grow tired of.

Watching these old timers really enjoying this work is truly inspirational and it makes you feel it's a shame that we grow old and die. This kind of enthusiasm is seldom seen in today's youths.

The singing groups' average age is 80 years old and watching them stumble and then really soar through these musical numbers is a real treat. It's heartwarming, inspiring, funny and sad all at the same time.
Maybe it's because I am 72 years old. The music was definitely not music I would ever listen to. Maybe if they were doing tunes from the 40's or 50's I would have like it, I cannot say. I never got past the first 15 minutes or so. I say, read all the reviews, make up your mind, at least i got mine from the library and didn't put out any money.
A simply wonderful look at the good side of humanity which is something you don't see very much nowadays.
This is a great movie for all ages. Even though the group is all between mid-70's and 90's, their stories and their music was great! It was hard to see members of the group battling diseases and yet somehow, the music and being part of the singing group helped them through their tough times. It certainly was an inspiration to me!

The questions start as soon as you know thatYoung@Heartis about a group of singing senior citizens as they prepare for and then perform a concert with a repertoire consisting of songs by the likes of Coldplay, Sonic Youth, and James Brown. Can this premise, basically a novelty, sustain itself for nearly two hours? Will the director give in to the temptation to make it schmaltzy and sentimental? Will we be laughing at these oldsters, or with them? The answers: yes, no, and a little of both. Directed by British filmmaker Stephen Walker, the 2007 film takes place primarily in Northampton, MA, home to the Young@Heart chorus, whose average age is 80. Most readily admit to preferring classical and musicals to the pop and rock given to them by music director Bob Cilman, and some of the tunes--Sonic Youth's "Schizophrenia," Allen Toussaint's "Yes We Can Can" (once a hit for the Pointer Sisters), and Brown's "I Got You (I Feel Good)"--prove especially vexing. But the singers' good natures and determination to master the material over some six weeks of rehearsals carry the day. Most of all, while they thoroughly enjoy themselves, it's no joke to them, and thus not to us, either. Of course, folks this age are bound to have health issues; indeed, the specter of death hangs over the scene like a banshee, occasionally making itself right at home. But the chorus members' insistence on carrying on in the wake of tragedy makes for a climactic concert that's moving and powerful--Fred Knittle, who had withdrawn from the group due to heart issues but whose beautiful bass voice remains intact, returns for this one show to deliver a version of Coldplay's "Fix You" that will bring a tear to the eye of the most flint-hearted cynic. Mixed in along the way are the group's "videos" of songs like the Ramones' "I Wanna Be Sedated" and David Bowie's "Golden Years"; bonus features include deleted scenes and a brief featurette about Young@Heart's gig in Los Angeles. --Sam Graham

I don't know about the first guy, and american homophobia and its relation to this movie. All I know is every guy has a friend their wife hates. Essentially thats what this movie is about. Not the love between guys blah blah. Yes guys love each other especially our close friends, and who doesn't talk about their sex lives with their buddies? That first guy is an idiot!
Seriously these guys make like a hundred movies a year since there debut in KNOCKED UP in 2007.Its seriously getting really annoying especially since i work at the movie thetare its so sad there constantly makeing films man they need the money that bad. The movie was alright worth to see BUT DO NOT SPEND TOO MUCH on the dvd wait till it comes on tv and pay like under 5 dollars for it.

"I Love You, Man" is a very smart comedy starring Paul Rudd (as Peter Klaven) and Jason Segel (as Sydney Fife). It's all about relationships between men. When Peter realizes that all of his friends are women, he decides to go on a journey to find male friends. Besides, he is getting married and in need of groomsmen.
Peter goes on a series of "man-dates" and the movie becomes more fun by the minute. Peter becomes tongue-tied as he searches for the perfect man, Peter's young brother played by Andy Samberg is gay and he and his mother (Jane Curtin) help fix Peter up with his straight male dates. The gay jokes fly but they are in no way offensive. There are some very funny moments here.
All of the performances are excellent and this is the perfect flick for a summer afternoon.

Paul Rudd, alum of several Judd Apatow movies such as Knocked Up and The 40 Year Old Virgin, stars as Peter Klaven who, mere weeks away from his wedding to Zooey (Rashida Jones of "The Office" fame), realizes that he has no male friends. This isn't due to social ineptitude, however; Peter gets along well with both sexes but primarily his sensitivity is attuned to friendships with women. In order to seek out a best man aside from his gay brother (SNL's Andy Samberg) or father, Peter goes on several "man dates" in order to deepen his pool of males with whom to bond. One man in particular, Forgetting Sarah Marshall's Jason Segel, appropriately fits the bill, and the two men embark on a friendship that forms the core of this movie.
I Love You, Man explores an interesting facet of male relationships, an area often twisted in other movies into homosexual innuendo. Fortunately, though, the story of I Love You, Man doesn't take this path, instead choosing to enlighten the viewer through crude humor, slapstick comedy, and witty discussion. Though not written by Apatow, those who saw his aforementioned movies will undoubtedly enjoy what this movie brings to the table. Rudd and Segel are a great comedy team; it's nice to see Rudd especially break out on his own. There are several points throughout the movie where the "man dates" closely resemble heterosexual dates, and Rudd shows his acting skill at making the situation uncomfortable for both his character and the viewers.
All in all, I Love You, Man is a solid comedy, closely following Knocked Up as a movie that can be enjoyed both by men who enjoy off-color humor, as well as women who will appreciate the emotional back-and-forth between the characters involved. Recommended.

My son, who is 2.5 years old, did not like this at all, I could not get him to watch for a minute. However, my daughter who is 6 years old likes to watch it even she already knows all the information in it. I am guessing may be the characters only attract older kids? I am hoping my son will like to watch it one day or my money will go waste. He loves all the Preschool Prep series though, he can watch those over and over and learns quickly from them.
I was very excited to show this video to my son who was almost 4 when we first got it. However, he showed little or no interest in it at that time. In hindsight, he was too busy learning his letters. Then all of a sudden one day when he was 4 1/2 he started showing more interest in numbers. I dug this video up, almost forgetting we even had it, and put it on for him. Wow, he really loves it now!!! He already knows his numbers up to 100 pretty well, but developmentally he's becoming interested in addition and substraction. This video is great for him...really holds his attention.

I'm not sure about the shampoo/conditioner, but the daily application treatment (specifically the bottle with the spraying cap--see picture) has a great mild styling effect as if I'd used a small amount of gel. Using all three products as directed I have noticed some growth of very light "baby hair" where formerly my hair was looking a little thin. Don't expect miracles, but do expect some improvement.
I bought this for my boyfriend with thinning hair at his crown. After using for about 2 months (if you have short hair and use only as much as you need this will last a while) his balding area was less noticeable. Start using at the first signs of hair loss for best results.
I am in my early fifties and my fine hair is starting to get thinner and recede. The Philippine lady who cuts my hair also noticed pimples on the upper back of my neck. She recommended this product and it works. The shampoo is gentle and you only need a little bit. The conditioner is filled with natural elements and tingles as it conditions your hair. After it is rinsed out, you can still feel the tingling sensation. The scalp treatment seemed silly and over-drive at first, but it settled my hair down so I could dry it like I like. There are no unnatural or petroleum-based ingredients. Between these products, my scalp and hair is healthier looking and feeling. It is not a cheap treatment product, but I feel better after using it. You only live once and it's a great product.

P.S. Think about putting a water filter in your showerhead. Chemicals and chlorine can damage your scalp and hair.
I purchased this product because I have thinning hair. I do not use it on a regular basis, I dont care for the scent. It is minty and cool. I would recommened this product to someone who is really concerned about thinning hair.
I had recently had my hair cut and have had fine hair all my life, which became even finer following a diagnosis of a medical condition. For years I have been trying all types of products to get volumizing results, most costing more than I was used to spending on shampoos and conditioners, few with recognizable or consistent results. However, I was plesantly surprised that this product has worked as well as it does. My hair is noticeably thicker and lighter, wtih more bounce and usually stays that way most of the day. The product is a bit odd at first to get used to. There is a tingling sensation the first few times when the shampoo and then the scalp treatment are used. The serum (step 3) can redden your scalp a little at first if you have sensitive skin such as myself, but I really could not tell and it does go away shortly afterward. Once your skin becomes acustomed, then it's fine and will not occur again usually. This is actually explained on the bottle instructions. Overall, I would recommend this product to someone who has very fine hair. I cannot say if it works for hair growth, but I feel that it likely does as I have been worried I have been losing hair rather than it thinning, but not anymore! Very happy with this line.

I bought this product to use as an eye makeup remover, and it is great. It doesn't burn your eyes and also feels good as a body oil. It's all natural and 100% pure. This is a very large bottle and is an unbelievable price. This is suitable for use in cooking too, or in salad dressing. It's totally free of anything artifical.
It's not bad but the oil absorbed too quickly into the skin, and I have to keep applying quite often as I massage.
Nice for so many things.... wonderful massage oil.. binder if your into making other natural things ... even makes a great refresher for your eyes if you have dark circles.
This massage oil is good - it simply does what it's advertised to do, really - it works great, goes on smooth and spreads out easily when giving back massages for example. It doesn't soak in or evaporate too quickly, but doesn't leave behind a sticky mess so that the person receiving the massage can easily just turn over afterwards and go to sleep (without overly slicking up the sheets). Most importantly (to me), is that it has a neutral smell (the almond is nice&pleasant) - no fluffy flower smells here which is great.

There are absolutely NO bread mixes on the market that compare with those from the Prepared Pantry. I have Never had a bad result with any of these breads. Their mixes have accompanied my husband on three combat tours and I continue to send them to our soldiers who are still deployed! Nothing says home like fresh bread!
I've made several orders from this place and they are fantastic. they have not failed me yet. I've never tasted bread like this. You cannot go wrong on the mixes. The prices are great and they are so very helpful.They are generous in their mixes, I never feel cheated. The mixes are huge and the flavor can't even be imagined. You have to try this.

Peppers smoked over an oak fire develop into a rich and complex palate which is much more powerful and pronounced than in our sun-dried varieties.
We suggest Sweet and Hot Varieties for sauces, vegetables, fish, eggs, and French Fries. We suggest the Bittersweet and Smoked varieties for Paella, Fabada, beef, lamb, or for use on the grill.
As with saffron, pimenton releases its flavor when heated. Sprinkled over a colorless dish, the pimenton will liven up the color without changing the flavor. Adding to a cooking recipe, the flavor will be released to infuse the dish with complex flavors.
One important note: The sugar content of pimenton is very high, thus you must be cautious not to overcook the spice or it will burn. Add to a cooking dish only when liquids are present, and then keep a watchful eye if using high heat.

this dog is really adorable. I bought it because it looks like our dog. But within hours after having it out of the box one of the plastic pegs holding the foot to one of the wheels snapped. The head of the nylon fastener came off, so there was a little round piece on the floor somewhere, never did find it. I called m&d and they replaced it with the frog, which was fastened with a knotted nylon rope. I really wish I had thought to fix it that way. The frog is adorable too.
My son was always trying to pull anything he could so I decided to buy him this pull frog. You should have seen him the day he opened that gift. He frog goes with he everywhere. As hard as my son is with toys, this frog is still holding up without issues.
This simple, classic toy is beautifully crafted in wood using non-toxic paint. My one-year-old niece is not yet walking but she immediately started dragging it with her as she crawls. The hopping movement makes her laugh. It's such a pleasure to see her entertained by a toy without a computer chip. I'm sure, as she grows and walks, it will be a constant companion that stimulates her imagination. She's already babbling to it in baby talk.
The frog legs seem to hop as the wheels turn and children love it. It works smoothly and looks very cute. I highly recommend this pull-behind toy.

Overall a good product for the price. We noticed that the manufacture says it's hand painted, but acctually the letters are printed material glued on the wooden pieces, not painted on. The one we received had peeling edges that revealed this. Second, it is not real wood. The daddy probably knows the right term but to me, the mommy, its 'presure treated wood byproduct'. You don't see the beautiful rings of real wood on it. In addition, you need to wipe it clean before giving to your kids because of the fine samll dusts. I am not suprised about the quality being under $20, but at least the manufacture should not state 'hand painted' when it is not. These details may not bother you if you are ok with other Melissa and Doug products. However, I am concerned about the printed material and whatever they used to glue it on because my baby will chew on it and the chemical will end up in his tiny body. I am still in search for a puzzle painted with non-toxic paint.
My son is 18 months old and loves puzzles. He mastered all the basic ones with farm animals and shapes, so I bought this hoping it would be a challenge. It is definitely harder than the others and it takes patience to put in all the letters. He usually makes it through 7 or 8 before he gets bored and moves on to other activities. The negative on this toy is you will definitely find little wooden letters all over your home. The positive is - your child will start to learn the letters. We've had it since Easter and we're up to "A B C" and we can do 'M' for Mommy, 'D' for Daddy and 'G' for John (my son's name).
My son is 19 months old. Knew approx 10 letters. Introducing this item to him he now verbally knows 15 letter (3 weeks later)and 20 just by sight. He places every one in the slot it belongs. The slot allotted for the letters are printed the same as the block letter. It helps them located the letter by color and shape. It also helps motor skills. I praised him when he gets the correct letters in. He now praises himself by clapping his hands when he completes the puzzle.
This is a great puzzle but I wish the pieces where painted on all sides and not only on the top, that would make them more water resistant when drinks are spilled on them accidently. Also, the one we received is not completely flat so best if played on a carpet or rug insead of a solid surface.

My daughter is enjoying playing with it and is learning new words while playing. The letters are chunky enough that she can easily grab them and place them on the board.
We play with this puzzle every time we go to the library and love it!

My daughter is 16 months old and she loves this puzzle. The pieces are thick and durable so it can withstand a little chewing on. The colors are bright and easy to tell the different animals apart. The pieces stay in their place pretty well so when my daughter is putting other pieces in they don't slide around. It is also very helpful that the pictures are also underneath each puzzle piece. She will put the puzzle together and then take it apart only to do it all over again. Its a fun, educational, safe, and overall a great puzzle!
This puzzle is very cute. I would have to disagree with the warning about choking hazard though, these puzzle pieces are very large and would not be able to be swallowed. I also would recommend this product for children under 3. Our son has had it for about 8 months now and he loves it. The puzzle pieces are so wide that each piece can stand on end, so he plays with them in the windowsill. The paint has chipped off here and there but he is very rough with them, and I sometimes wonder if the dog got to them!
I bought this puzzle for my 1 yr old daughter and I babysat several other children over a matter of 2-3 years, and this puzzle is still going strong. The paint still looks great. And it has endured, even after several of the babies "chewed" it. I have several of these chucky melissa and doug puzzles and they are great.
I gave this to my 2- year- old granddaughter as part of her birthday gifts. It brought many smiles as she lifted the colorful pieces, named the animals, and placed them back in the appropriate spaces. I know it will last her a long time- very well made.
I bought these puzzles for my grandaughter who is 1 year old.
She is just learning to talk and wants so much to sound out all
the animal names. They are also very easy to grab and big enough
as to not get lost. She is very content to try and figure out
where each piece goes on her own. Great construction.

Too many movie makers these days either don't know or don't care that the modern child is more difficult to entertain than the kid of yesteryear. Like it or not, they are usually exposed to more at an earlier age and they are going to be too savvy for this kind of fluff.

"The Bike Squad"centers around a pre-teen named Ryan. Ryan's dog is stolen by a couple of bumbling dognappers and it's up to him and three of his new friends to get the dog back. As it turns out, dogs are being snatched up at an alarming rate around town and are being sold by the twosome to an evil researcher.

From that description, you can pretty much guess how everything will unfold. The only possible surprise is when the four kids actually break into a research lab like a pint-sized ALF. The rest of the film is the same old tired cliche of kids who are constantly being let down by clueless adults who don't believe them.

The acting is uniformly awful with the exception of Graham Spillman. As the lead child, Braden Parkes is inoffensive but lacking in natural talent. This is one"boy and his dog"movie that you'll wanna smack on the nose with a rolled up newspaper.
Saw this movie on showtime a nice story with likable characters for younger viewers, too predictable for the older crowd. Good family film!
This film is a sweet family adventure. The main boy, Ryan, is in such a dilemma, we felt sorry for him!The directing leaves a little to be desired...but the story is a great one for little kids. Nothing too scary...even the bad guys are'nt scary.

I bought 2 of these for gifts. My Mom&Aunt have had a lot of fun with Pogo games. The kids love them to. Well done&cute!
We bought this game for our 6 year old little girl. She does pretty well with it in an untimed mode. She is not as interested in it as I though she would be.

My husband and I are horribly addictied to it though. I spend way too much time in front of it.

(Fun Game)

I bought this game for my daughter for $12. (and she hated it, says it's boring..) The game has only about a $2 trade in value.
This game is fairly short, however is fun and keeps children entertained. My daughter loves it and offers enough of a challenge that it keeps her interest. I would recommend for any child that loves Strawberry Shortcake.

I bought the Pro model to replace the original Check-Go. PROS: (1) The line around the equator now goes on perfectly straight. On the original unit I had to mark the line separately by hand because usually the line came out lopsided. This was very time consuming! (2) There is now a green dot which lights up once the ball is balanced, usually 10-15 seconds. Big help. On the original unit you kept spinning until you thought it was balanced. The instructions even said to let it spin for up to 2-minutes to balance the ball. The Pro is much faster to use and you know when the balacing is complete! CONS: On both units the pen that comes with the unit is the only pen that works to mark. The hole you inset the pen into is designed for just that pen. Replacements cost $3+!! A total ripoff! If anyone out there has found a standard marking pen that works, I'd really appreciate learning about it. It is for this reason that I am rating it 4*'s instead of 5. Otherwise, I LOVE this thing. I use the line to set up off the tee box as well as for putting. Happy marking!
Great product and a must have. It provides excellent feedback in determining if you are putting the ball on line.
If you have ever watched a well struck putt veer off line, you have stumbled on a little golf secret, the perfectly round golf ball has not yet been manufactured. Just like automobile tires that appear to be round but still need to be spin balanced to perform correctly, golf balls are not ready to go out of the box. The Check Go automatically realigns the balls heaviest areas along its equator, so the ball no longer has a tendency to wobble when struck. Place a new golf ball in Check Go and replace the safety cage. Press the button for several seconds while the Check Go's high speed gyroscope action realigns the ball's variance in mass along its most balanced area. Use the special pen to permanently mark the ball's unique equator. When teeing off or on the green, simply line up the ball's equator line with your target and swing as usual.

(An absolute riot!)

I got this skirt for my 2 year old niece. She couldn't wait to put it on! And refused to take it off. The music starts whenever the child moves (of course, a 2 year old is never still) and the adults got sick of hearing the hokey-pokey after about 6 hours. There is a switch to de-activate the music. The kid figured that out right away tho, so we had to remove the box from its little velcro enclosure. Excellent "grand-parent revenge" gift!!!!
My daughter is a drama queen, and nothing is funnier than watching her become totally self-absorbed in her own little personal performance. The mustic stays with her, and she just moves from room to room being the perfect little fairy ballerina. We love it!
