(Love it) 『Just moved into a place with tile and wood throughout. LOVE not having carpet; hate mopping all of it. After some research, decided to purchase Haan and I love it. It warms up fast (under two mins it was ready to roar), and it's light enough to not be "effort" but sturdy enough to not be afraid of breaking it. It cleaned up the floors great. Did I mention it's silent?? Love it.
I saw two complaints and thought I'd address those. I have no issue with the water tank because it's so easy to refill, unlike a steam cleaning vaccuum that you must empty the water, clean the tanks, and refill; this is just a simple cup of water straight into the tank as needed. Done. Easy. Also the cord length didn't pose an issue because I have the standard amount of electrical outlets throughout my rooms ;) Actually, all said and done, I like the tank and cord the way it is. The tank lasted long enough to do a sizable portion of floor, but quick enough I can just run it til it's empty and not have to empty out leftover. And the cord was long enough to also reach a sizable portion, but not so much extra that I had to keep control over it.
The ONLY down size is the head is pretty thick and doesn't swivel, so you can't reach far corners and in nooks and crannies. I'm ok with this because I don't think any steam cleaner will clean corners better than a simple spray bottle and rag. At least for people with a bunch of fluffy animals. All other issues I've seen (which to be fair weren't many at all) seem to all be 100% user error (streaks, puddling, etc - use it right, and it operates right).

It was so easy to use, that I was inspired to do more than I had planned to do. It actually changed the shade of my carpet! I used to clean my shelves with a feather duster. No more. With the brush attachment, I did my shelves in a fifth of the time it would have taken by hand. Pet hair? This thing sucks it up without any problem. Emptying out the dirt canister took about two minutes. It also has a neat cranking mechanism to shake out the paper filter--and, boy, did the filter collect a lot of dirt! I am one happy customer. I will be dreading cleaning day a lot less now. I can't compare this to any other vacuum cleaner in its price range but if you are trying to clean with some cheap vacuum cleaner, do not hesitate to put out the money for this baby. Having 2 more feet on the power cord would have been nice. I don't have a problem with the weight of the vacuum, or the noise level. But I'm very irritated with the build quality of the machine, especially with the dirt canister, which is apparently engineered with build quality flaws. The canister filter seems to do its job, but is very labor intensive. I literally have to wash the thing off after each use, and they're about $15 to replace, so I don't want to do that very often. After about the second time of use, the button that controls the bottom hatch that you're supposed to push to free the debris from the canister stopped functioning, and then I was forced to pull open the top door of the canister and bang the contents out in the trash can, which is very messy. I have to do this outside or in the garage to avoid a dust cloud going all over. Also, after 6 months of this problem, the lever on the top of the canister just snapped, which made emptying the canister very very difficult. The nearest warranty center is 30 miles away, and when I phoned them they told me I would have to wait a month for the part. At least my vacuum functions with the part broken but what if it didn't? I can't be without a vacuum for a month. I finally got in touch with Hoover customer service, had to be transferred to a few different departments, and was told the canister isn't covered under warranty, and that I would have to pay $41 to get a new one...but hey, they would pay for the shipping. Of course the junky canister isn't covered under warranty. If only my last vacuum (Orek) had better suction power for my dog hair I would never had gotten rid of it. I have two regrets with this Hoover; first, I should have bought the vacuum at a local big box store, so I would have an easy place to return it; second, I wish I would have bought the Eureka 4870MZ Boss instead; it appears to be made better.

We have city (hard) water, but I decided to use it instead of distilled water due to cost. I use tap water right out of our heated spout (for tea) and plug the mop in and go. I mop weekly, and all was well until about a month ago. I accidentally left water in the mop container, haven't mopped in 3-4 weeks, (back to school busy)and PHEW!! Mildew grew in the filter and the whole house STUNK like mildew when I used the mop. But the filter has lasted 6 months. But when they say "Empty out the water between moppings", FOLLOW DIRECTIONS!! Oh, and my mop heads are wearing out. I, too have ceramic tile (HATE IT!!!!)and the rough grout wears out the pad. Steam cleaner doesn't clean the grout well, by the way....I have to be satisfied that I steamed it, so it's sanitary, if not pretty.』

And now after 8 months, the thing sounds like it is on a ventilator, and moments away from death. I previously use the basic Shark model, which was pretty decent until the handle broke after 1 1/2 years use. There was no way to fix it due to the pressure used to create the steam. After my lengthy research, comparisons, etc., it seemed that this HAAN was the way to go. Ordered it. Got it. It didn't work. I called HAAN corporate and the gal walked me through some troubleshooting. Yes, it was defective. However, it was concluded the main unit was defective so they instructed for me to keep all accessories including the floor attachment. They immediately sent me another main unit, even though a purchased this one from a third party through Amazon. HAAN even through in two replacement pads, which was nice. (The instructions in the box said to call HAAN directly, not the third party.) GREAT customer service. After receiving the replacement, I was thrilled to use it as I had been doing the hands and knees mopping since my Shark was out of commission. Followed the instructions as I did before and, guess what, it still didn't work. I called HAAN once again and after troubleshooting, they concluded that the floor attachment was defective (of course, the piece that I was instructed to keep). They stated they would send a replacement out ASAP. At this point, I politely told them that wasn't necessary. I explained that I shouldn't be having these issues for a unit that is priced at $180.00. They understood and explained that I needed to send the new unit back to them, minus the accessories, and contact the third party to make arrangements to send the defective unit with accessories back to them. I called the third party and, once again, received great customer service. They mailed me a return shipping label and returned the item. Within two weeks, I received a full credit. This steam cleaner is cumbersome and there is no where to store the long, heavy duty cord. There is a small compartment underneath the unit to keep the accessories (hand tools). The cheaply made door would not stay shut. I was so frustrated as it took me a good 30 minutes to get set up to use the unit, and it wouldn't work either time. Maybe I just had a lemon, but both times? I would stay away from this steam cleaner. The price is a little steep, but I'm a believer you get what you pay for. Not in this case. I resorted back to the Shark, but went with the deluxe model. Much, much sturdier than the basic Shark and the head swivels on this model. I love it. I was all set to pull the trigger on the Hoover GUV until I read one review that talked about how the Hoover was Chinese made and the motor was rather cheap. That review recommended this Shop Vac because it's American made, cheaper, better quality and is wet/dry capable. I went ahead and saved about $50 and ordered this one instead, and boy am I glad I did. This little vacuum does a spectacular job. It doesn't get real hot like the reviews of the GUV talk about, it has a much longer cord than the 5' one on the GUV, it's not too loud, and the suction is incredible. For the long runs from the vacuum itself, I used thin wall sewer PVC from Lowes. This is about $8 for 10' length, so half the price of the Jet hose. With smooth walls, it should be better for air flow too. The joint fittings are comparable in price, so even buying the reducer to fit the PVC to the Jet hose, I still saved a lot of money... I needed 3 24' runs of piple for my shop to hook up 8 machines.
Use thin wall PVC sewer pipe for long runs, and get the 4" to 3" inside diameter PVC reducer... it fits perfect inside the Jet hose. Connect this hose to the reducer and the machine and you're in business...』

My first measurement was 185 degrees. Every hour after my initial measurement was 5 degrees cooler - I did this for 4 hours and it was very consistent. Also take in consideration it took about 1 minute to take a proper temp., so the water stood exposed for awhile.
The bottle is only 16oz...I hope they make a bigger one.』

I also thought a specific Thermos company would have the best quality product. It is a little heavier than most thermos this size, but I thought it would be better. However, when I add my morning coffee to it, the coffee is cold by the time I open the thermos just about 2 hours later. I tried heating the thermos first by adding hot water to warm it before the coffee. It will retain heat a little longer, but it quickly cools even when firmly sealed.
