(Clean Machine) (Great Filters) (product was fine despite horrible packaging) We've been using 2 Roombas, intensively for more than a couple of years and, finally, it came to the point where we thought we wanted some replacement filters, mainly because the existing ones began to look a bit worn out. Three extra filters... 2 of them are unlikely to be used because you are may replace your Roomba before they get a chance to perform. They are so well-made, they hardly ever break or degrade. My advice: try to find a combo pack that includes one filter because 3 filters is probably 2 too many. If you have 2 Roombas, like we do, then purchasing this pack does make sense. Note: I'm not aware of such a combo pack which is why I am taking one star away - the Roomba makers seem to be forcing us to buy more than we need in this instance. Roomba owners know that a fresh filter captures more dust than an old one. If you haven't changed your filter in a while, you are really hampering the cleaning potential of your little robot helper. This is a good price and certainly much better than buying from irobot directly. I make my filters last much longer by taking them outside and using canned air to blast them "clean". It only takes about 5 seconds and makes them almost as good as new. I do this about 4 times (once a month) before I finally replace them. Have been wanting a Roomba a long time; with a fractured shoulder, the Roomba became a necesdsisity. If you own a Roomba you have to have filters. This was a great price. The 3 filters were shipped to us placed in a torn box that was for a different product. A hand written note indicated "look inside the box". I also purchased the three layer flat filter from amazon- arrived perfectly. I searched for, found, and ordered a Hoover quality filter. In returned I received a cheap, unwrapped, generic filter with a poor quality filter media. Furthermore, the filter was wrapped in an arabic newspaper. This is the ultimate bait&switch. I will never order from this company and again and would encourage Amazon to remove them from their site. Sadly I didn't read all the reviews first, just looked at the rating. This company is not shipping what is advertised. They are sending out generic filters that aren't even HEPA compliant. They aren't even Hoover, there is no brand name on them, no patent numbers (they may be even using patents illegally). That said they are filters, even if they are far thinner than the brand name ones, and you can see right through them. Just don't expect them to do a great job stopping dust and mites. These are not Hoover filters as advertised. They come in a bag with newspaper around them with no protection. Mine are bent. These are generic (who knows if they work) garbage. I will attempt to return. Amazon should remove this seller and relegate them to eBay where you can be assured to be ripped off. If you sell a generic item STATE THIS. Some people are happy with that. I had recieved the pool buster a little later, charged it 24 hours and it lasted for 10 min. It says in the manual the battery gradually holds more of a charge after the first initial charge. I charged it for 6 hours two different times and it lasted only 15-20 min. I called water tech 3 times at 3 different times in the day, and left 2 voicemails with my number to see what was going on. I waited for 3 days then got frustrated. I'm not sure if watertech had great service, then didn't care anymore according to the reviews and maybe reduced quality of some of them, but watertech may have reduced customer service and product quality. Finally I called the ebay store for another one, and they gave me another one promptly. After the second pool buster was delivered to me, the initial charge worked for 25 min and the second 4 hour charge today lasted 45 min. It works great with picking up everything including dirt, algae, and leaves. I also bought the fine filter bag to better trap the silt better and is about $25 definitely worth it. This cleaned our large pool in 15 min! Make sure you charge this product at least 4 hours rather than 1 or 2. The suction power is great, and should last at least 45 min after a few charges. Overall, a great product, and don't give up on it; try it and you may get a good one out of the batch. Get one as a great substitute for annoying cords and use a seperate cleaner than your pool suction. Hope this helps! I just bought this pool vac to work in conjunction with my suction pool vac but returned it after 1 day. Living in CT with a lot of trees around my pool, there is always a lot of dirt on the bottom of the pool. First, I vacuumed half of 1 stair and the filter bag was already full and had to be cleaned out (so imagine how long it would take to clean a larger area). Second, most of the dirt came right back out the sides. Not sure if the optional micro filter bag would work better, but it would still fill up extremely fast and need to be cleaned constantly. This product was dead out of the box. I charged it overnight and it still would not work. After tinkering with it for awhile I finally got it going. I attempted to contact Water Tech about the problem. All I got was a voice mail and no one ever called me back. While it was working I noticed that the included bag is pretty much useless. I had mostly sand and silt on the bottom of the pool that requires the purchase of an additional $35.00 bag. Otherwise it just flow throught the included bag. Fortunately, tools0234, the company I purchased the item from was very reponsive and agreed to replace the vacuum. Water Tech customer service appears to be very poor and I would use cation when purchasing this item I have had a 16x32 in ground concrete pool for many years, during which I have tried many pool products. This product is one of my better purchases, though it does have limitations that I will discuss, which is why I gave it only four stars. Opening my pool this year was a nightmare. The water was filled with algae (because I didn't use enough algaecide when I closed the pool), my diatamaceous earth filter required constant "bumping" of the handle to bring down the pressure (because I didn't clean it thoroughly enough when I closed the pool), and the diatamaceous earth itself was shooting back into the pool instead of coating the filter like it was supposed to (same failure to clean problem). To make matters worse, my Polaris 380 would not work, and I had just five days to get the pool looking nice and clean for a big family party. The Pool Buster Max saved the day for me. I charged it for only four hours when I first bought it, and ignored the instruction in the manual that this was not intended for opening pools, but only for general maintenance. It was all I had to get my pool clean. Fortunately I had virtually no leaves (more about that later), but most of the bottom of the pool was covered with a fine layer of dirt, dead algae, and diatamaceous earth (which is just as fine as sand). The Pool Buster attached easily to my pool pole, and I coated the on/off knob with a waterproof lubricant as per the suggestion from tech support at the company, who I called for suggestions. The suction was surprisingly good considering that the suction opening is only about the size of a half dollar; but that small size also caused it to often clog before the filter bag was filled. In the beginning, I was stopping and starting the Pool Buster about once a minute to unclog it, but remember that these were very adverse conditions, and the manual does say that this is not intended to open pools. Working on and off for a couple of days because on top of everything else we had major rainstorms, I finally got the pool clean (it also helped that I fixed my filter and diatamaceous earth problems), and it looked great for the party. My Polaris 380 still has not been fixed, so I have been using the Pool Buster for what it was intended to do--general maintenance. It works like a charm. Although the filter bag is small, it is more than adequate for general maintenance, during which the suction opening usually did not get clogged. I know that other filter bags are available, but I don't see the point in getting one since I used the filter bag that comes with the Pool Buster to successfully vacuum large amounts of fine dirt, dead algae, and diatamaceous earth. The Pool Buster is very easy to maneuver, and much easier to use than vacuum heads attached to a hose that connects to the skimmer. Also, all of the debris that is collected goes into a filter bag that is very easy to clean and empty, rather than into your skimmer and filter. Unfortunately, this product does have a serious Achilles heel--it really cannot pick up even the smallest leaf. When I finally got my pool clean, I still had a couple of small leaves, which the Pool Buster either did not pick up, or got clogged from picking up just literally two small leaves. So for any general maintenance involving leaves, this product is worthless. I still plan on fixing my Polaris 380, which is a workhorse compared to the Pool Buster (and costs much more), but will use the Pool Buster from time to time to do "touch up" maintenance because not even the Polaris gets everything, particularly debris on the pool steps, which the Pool Buster does a nice job on (note: I brush the debris from the top steps to the lower ones because I would have to take the Pool Buster out of the water to clean the two top steps on my pool). Bottom line: This is not the perfect pool cleaner because it cannot handle leaves, and its suction opening should be a bit larger to avoid clogging. But it did save the day for me under much more adverse conditions than it was intended for, so I think it will be a nice addition to my collection of pool equipment. If you don't want to spend the money for a unit like a Polaris, and leaves are not an issue, then this unit will do a good job for you. Note: I bought my unit at Costco for a little more than half of the list price. My local pool supplier was selling it for about two thirds of the list price. So shop around to find the best price in your area. I have an outdoor pool, so my main problems are leaves and the occasional algae bloom. The pool buster max nozzle is too small for leaves and the nozzle clogs on smaller-sized material. I purchased BOTH additional socks required for algae (cost>$50.00). As soon as the inner sleeve is coated with silt-sized particles, the machine loses suction--this is about 30 seconds. I have not had a single good experience with this machine and am attempting to get my money back. I would be interested to know what the machine actually does pick up. Miele vacs are terrific, even the cheapest ones. And the bags are great. Each box comes with the little filters you should change every now and then. The bags install easily, have a nice little flap thing that keeps dust from flying all around when you remove them, they seems to work even when you are too lazy to change them when you should and they don't break or anything. No dust haze or little sparkles in the sunny air. My last box was about $3 cheaper, so the price went up a big percentage. Miele may be gouging some here. I blame Miele because the price is the same everywhere. In my wooden-floored house, they last too long for me to worry about the infrequent purchase price. It's hard to find these little suckers so ordering them this way was a joy. This product is an EnviroCare Technologies product -- not Miele. The mechanism that attaches it to the vacuum is made of sturdy cardboard, not like the Miele which is made of plastic. But it does hold the bag securely in place and the bag works well. I haven't had any problems with its performance. Mieles new HyClean FJM Bags provide superior dust and particle retention with its 9 layers of filtration. (Just what I wanted) (Better performance) it fits and work in my vacuum theEureka Optima Lightweight ( the yellow one) though the DCF14 looks different from the DCF10 filter that came with the vacuum. the DCF14 is yellow and has no piece that fits down the pipe and its bigger. plus there are really no instructions on how to install it. but it is not that hard. i've read several reviews and alot of people said they put a nylon over the filter so i bought some cheap kneehighs and tried it on this filter that keep the clogging down alot it stops the big stuff from getting in the fins of the filter so i dont have to wash it out like the DCF10 so far its works good. i bought two DCF14 thinking i would have to change them quickly like the DCF10 but its been about a month now and i'm still on the first one which i think has a lot to do with the nylon hope this helps This replaced the orignal filter perfectly and helped tremedously with the odors in the "flea market" vaccum that I bought. First of all, I love my vacuum cleaner. It is a Eureka Optima. It is small and compact. I have had it for at least 3 years. The only problem is that it does not have a self-propelled feature, so it can get a little difficult to push back and forth. But I view it more like an exercise. My old filter is smelly. I rinse it every so often, but it does smelll. This new filter works great! It fits perfectly. The item arrived on time. Everything is cool. I highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a quick, safe and easy way to protect you hard drive investment. Avoid this thing like the plague. I got one that worked for about 3 months, before it failed. I replaced it from Antec with a RMA, the morons never told me it'd be on back order, so it took a couple *months* to get that. In the mean time I purchased one from Amazon, defective, and purchased two from Circuit City, both defective. Then Antec sends me back the RMA and IT WAS DEFECTIVE! So out of 5 units, one worked for a few months. Not a stellar track record. Previously I had two drives (raid) mount in those 5.25 style aluminum heat sink adapters with rubber isolators. I figured the Antec would add a little air flow and bling with the temperature LED. So, I changed out one of the drives to this. It was considerably larger than the front bezel on my Gigabyte case so I had to break out the file to fine tune things. Actually, the fan noise isn't all that bad (I figured there'd be some), but not near what I considered, really other than getting more HD seek/click noise it's really negligible. The other minor gripe is the LED display; a) I thought it was a slight bit to big, b) It's green (the ability to slip in color slides to get other colors would have been cool), c) When it flips one channel to the other a dot changes to indicate which senor it's showing. I realize they had to do something, although the dot is large and always flopping up/down. A smaller dot along with the display would do the trick. I would say to make this an A+... the LED display should have moved off from what appears to be a long standing generic component from the 90's. Along with the addition of rubber isolators, that would have put it over the top. Very easy to install. Well-made and seems to run quietly. (All Hail The Aspiradora!) Gravity pulls out all kinds of dust from the air, and lots of it gets into your house, with the potential of causing illness! As you would guess by the title of Elaine Marie Alphin's book, a vacuum cleaner is the best way to remove all that dust, and Vacuum Cleaners is the best way to learn all about how those gismos work, and the history of making them! Brooms only seemed to move dust from one place to another, so some smart housekeepers started dipping their brooms in water to improve the performance of the tool. Something much more was needed, and this slim volume details the history of that progress with lots of entertaining photos, drawings and cartoons. Scientific and cultural aspects of this invention are examined, and a glossary is provided for review. For the ambitious, the author provides instructions to make a simple vacuum cleaner, but the Hoover company need not fear the impact of this activity on business! This is a fun read for kids, but adults will love it too. I suspect that young readers will suddenly feel motivated to help out with the housework after reading this book! "Aspiradora" is the lyrical Spanish word for "vacuum cleaner," one of the rare facts you won't find in Elaine Marie Alphin's excellent book on vacuums for children. Despite the omnipresence of vacuum cleaners in our lives, very little is written about them. This book is an excellent history of vacuum cleaners and their predecessors, brooms, Bissell sweepers, and carpet beaters. The book explains the formation of dust and various methods of removing it from our homes. It also teaches kids about dust mites and allergies, and emphasizes cleanliness. Obviously the accomplishments of the great H. Cecil Booth, the inventor of the first practical vacuum cleaner, and James Murray Spangler, the man who invented the beater bar (although it was originally a rotating brush made of goat hair) are highlighted. Also detailed are the rise of the mighty vacuum industrial giants, Hoover, Kirby, and the Swedish company Aktiebolaget Elektrolux, better known as Electrolux, the first manufacturer of the canister vacuum cleaner with wheels. Many novel vacuum cleaners get mention, including bellows powered models, and one powered by coal.
