I've owned this now for two years and its never let me down. (It was a great deal back then for sixty bucks on sale at walmart) I've been very happy with this blower and getting the extra battery was definitely the deal clincher. I would have to reconsider now that it only comes with one. I've read where some people had problems with their batteries but I haven't. The blower, batteries and charger have always been stored indoors in our laundry room. Never outside and not in the garage where the temps fluctuate so maybe that's made a difference. After 2yrs I haven't noticed any real change in the battery life and it still works like new. I use both batteries fully charged in the fall for leaves and are easily able to do the 12x16 back deck, the 5x20 front porch, the 6' concrete decking around 20x40 IG pool and 20x16 outdoor cabana. I use one fully charged battery every day in the summer to clean the pool and cabana area. It's very light weight and easy to swing back and forth. It's so quiet my wife said it sounds like her hair dryer. The second battery is easy enough to just carry in my hand or coat pocket. I've always kept one battery in the charger and the other in the blower. When I'm ready to use it I swap out the batteries. If I'm going to need both batteries I just swap them and wait 30-45min then get started and carry the extra one with me. Like any thing else you buy, if you take care not to abuse it you'll get years of trouble free use.』
(Cordless Blower Review) 『I read the other reviews on this one prior to purchase. I wanted something that could provide enough power to clear some leaves from the yard and also be used by family members for the more normal day to day operations (blow deck, blow out garage, blow grass trimmings, etc.). This blower is very light so it is easy to use. It has a large "toggle" type flat switch for easy on/off operation. It is very nice for the day to day work and can be used for some moderate leaf clearing in the Fall. You will need a gas or plug in variety for the heavy duty work. I am happy with the purchase though. It does what I had hoped it would do and the battery lasts long enough between charges to complete these tasks.』
(A Clean Sweep) 『The purchase from Amazon was flawless; the trimmer was on by front porch within three days of the order placement. Amazing. Be careful opening the box. I got a nasty paper cut in my eagerness to rip off the box top with brute force. Inside the box everything was expertly packaged and protected with egg carton quality cardboard shell. Luckily operating the machine is simple because the direction sheet leaves much to be desired. It displays as many languages as a United Nations guide, but all in small print, all directions overly succinct. What you need to know is on the direction sheet but not necessarily easy to find because of a lack of clarity and organization.
The small pictures provided require the use of a magnifying glass. The pictures aren't annotated with text, just numbered sequentially.
In the Yard
When one buys a yard toy he doesn't really need, especially one that costs a hundred dollars, expectations and hopes are high. To this reviewer's relief, Black and Decker's cordless trimmer exceeds all expectations and far surpasses any preconceptions of performance and utility. Without clear directions I did have a bit of difficulty attaching the tool's handle, but after that little chore it was all uphill.
So far this handy trimmer has performed flawlessly from one end of Spud Acres to its brother. On one charge I trimmed the front beds, the edges of the asphalt driveway, and most of the beds in the backyard. With extra batteries it's a snap to replace a spent battery with a fresh one. With the batteries included with my other Black and Decker cordless yard tools, and the Firestorm 18V battery bought recently, I have 6 batteries for the three tools. Even if a battery is attached to each tool, I still have two fresh batteries on standby on the chargers.
Recommendation
This tool easily rates five stars. It's quieter than my other two trimmers, has more than adequate power for my needs, and is easy to maneuver. At first I thought that the pull down edge guide was a useless gimmick, but it actually works very well. Also the automatic line-feed feature is wonderfully convenient.
NOTES - Be sure to remove tape from the line cutter and the spool. This bit of advice is not mentioned in the directions. I bought three spools of prewound line when I bought the trimmer, but learned from the directions that one can use bulk line to rearm an empty spool. I like the convenience of using spools ready to use. 』

I ordered a blue Contigo and a green one. The green one didn't keep my coffee hot for more than an hour. I emailed the company and they suggested that it was defective and I could exchange it for free, which I did. The replacement kept the coffee warmer for a bit longer, maybe 1.5 hours, but no where close to the 4 hours touted. If you are commuting then maybe an hour is fine, but I pack my coffee for school and don't drink it for about an hour after I leave home. The spill proof design is also great for when I ride my bike to school, but it doesn't always work. The replacement Contigo leaked through the spout - somehow the lever was stuck on the inside. Also, the paint started chipping on the bottom after just a few days. I ordered three Contigos in total, really hoping to get a good one, but I never did. Not sure what the problem is given that it otherwise gets rave reviews. Will try the Nissan Stainless thermos next.』

If you use anything thicker than a 14 gauge power cord, you cannot utilize the cord holder on the machine and the cord will fall off the plug after a short time of use and the machine will of course cut off. So... you'll have to hold the cord and the machine with one hand. This is a pain in the a$$! It does blow/suck hard enough to move leaves like it supposed to and I guess if you are careful enough with the zipper and don't mind the aggravating conversion and power cord issue, then it's ok, at best. (We returned it right after we looked at it out of the box) 『We have been using this type of cleaner for more than 10 years and the type of cleaner in general is very useful invention. When we bought this, we were expecting some design improvement over our 10 year old one. But like many products nowadays, design for the look changed a lot, not for the functionality.
This type of cleaner tends to deal with all kind of dirty situation and if you see narrow plastic gaps under the liquid container, difficult to clean, you probably do not even want to try to clean after a few years. The clear container looks clean now. But only way of cleaning inside is to put liquid and just shake, and the container has lot of plastic structure and pipe inside, I could easily see it having all kind of unpleasant colors appearing soon or later.
And with such bulky size, and only a small container, you would probably be busy discharging and refilling the tanks looking for new solution in the middle of accident on your carpet. Having raised two children and living with two dogs now, I feel that I would rather look for potentially better designed one than buying this at this point.』

I have used this on a variety of different carpets and even on a bedspread to clean up a spill and it exceeded my expectations each time.

(Terrible Suction) 『Usually, when a product is hovering around 4 stars, I skim the bad reviews and assume those were from defective products or grumpy users, but its true; this thing has terrible suction.
I bought this to spot clean my cream microfiber sofa which had a lot of very simple dirt stains. The spray is very wide, but that was actually good for going over cushions quickly. The water it did pick up was nasty and dirty, so the brush/solution combo is doing something, but the problem is that it picked up less than 1/5 of the water/solution that went down.
I went through the manual and there is a section on troubleshooting poor suction. I tried everything recommended with no dice - I removed and tightened everything I could find on the dirty tank, but that did not help either.
I tried several different angles and levels of pressure with the wand to no avail, and I finally had to go get my big wet vac.

(Quiet, Energy Efficient, Will be buying more) 『Boy, I wish I had purchased this purifier from the beginning. I made the mistake of purchasing the popular Honeywell machines last week and my wife just about threw me out of the house after hearing the noise from those machines. She described the sound as being in the middle of a power plant facility. Even their desktop purifier is louder on the low setting that the BlueAir 250e on the highest setting. BlueAir is truly whisper quiet (30 db at low setting) and I had a hard time believing it was on full blast when I had it on the highest setting until I put my hand near the top.
The CADR is more than enough for a 12x12 room according to a conservative estimate from a leading allergy website. I like that you could have this right next to your bed and not realize it is turned on.
The remote control is terrific and you can turn off the ion purifier if you like as well, although I am comfortable knowing that it has been tested by various sites with no ozone production measured.
Ordered this product via Amazon Prime and arrived within 2 days, outstanding service as usual (and free shipping) - well worth the investment for me.
I will look at buying some of the larger BlueAir products for my living room and larger areas and can't wait to have guests over now that the air is fresh and inviting.

I rarely use it with an iPod but have streaming audio like Pandora, cds and dvds played through it via an outboard D/A converter. I am amazed at how good it images and how deep the bass is.
Now the things I don't like. The unit has an all smooth, plastic case that scratches extremely easily. I wish it was textured if it had to be plastic to make the scratches not so obvious. The unit runs a bit hot and the top panel actually cracked from the heat - either add some cooling vents or use a better material. The included cables are extremely thin and flimsy and several are hard-wired to one unit or the other. I'd like either better cables or the ability to use my own. Also, the cable that connects speaker a (containing the power amp) and speaker b is way too short for my taste. The remote works okay to adjust the volume, but it adds an awful clicking sound to the audio signal.』

Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Fleeting themes in a thin scaffolding) 『I often read two books at the same time, swapping time from one to another in the course of a week. As I was reading Gather Darkness by Fritz Leiber, I fingered to the back page to see an advertisement for the Wizard of Oz series. I thought it strange but I idiomatically wanted to try to find a link between the Wizard of Oz and Vacuum Flowers... so of I set upon my own little yellow brick road since I wasn't enjoying the first third of the book very much.
Rebel (Dorothy) and her alternate psyche Eucrasia (little dog, Toto, too) traverse the intersystem from her Dyson sphere home in the Oort Cloud (Kansas) to the idea of a green Earth (the idyllic Emerald Palace) to seek answers. Her posse includes the four-minded Wyeth (The brainless Scarecrow [though I stop the comparison at the sexual relationship]), the seemingly logical cybernetic Bors (The heartless Tinman) and finally the simple-minded Nee-C (The cowardly Lion). Rebel even has a `wizard-mother' (Good Witch of the East?) who assists her in her journey. The enemy is a more nebulous type, perhaps because of the unclear distinction between rivals. The mind-linked Comprise (flying monkeys) and the sinister back figure of Deutsche Nakasone (Wicked Witch of the West) detail most advances at the elimination of Rebel and her posse.
It was all a fun game to play while reading the novel... until I came to page 228 of 248 when one character says, "Last of all, Rebel, we come to you. Rebel, you want a pair of ruby slippers... You want to go home." My jaw dropped! I could NOT believe my time-passing fantasy manifested itself onto the pages! My second thought was that Pink Floyd might provide an excellent soundtrack to this book.
Comparisons aside (though it's hard to look past it all!), I found the book a jumble of fleeting thoughts, brief (and very frequent) sexual encounters, short-lived sub-plots and transitory peoples. When a sci-fi grandmaster has too many thoughts in a novel, they tend to have the skill to weave them in a solid tapestry of awe and depth. However, when an inexperienced author attempts to put all their thought into one book, the result reads like the above adjectives: fleeting, brief, short-lived and transitory. Swanwick mentions again and again the `rude boys' of the outer system and the wolverines of the planet Earth but he doesn't go into depth about how they fit into the universe which he has written an entire novel about. It's full of ideas of empty of effort. This applies to other scenarios, as well: the Comprise shy-apple eating boy, the Orchid village and the Island habitation- mere ideas built without scaffolding.
Lastly, I'm sick of sci-fi authors who think they can characterize a `strong female heroine' simply by sexualizing her. It's a major cop-out and Swanwick takes it to a new level with a total of eight sex scenes, where anything less than three would have been suffice. The novel actually reminds me MUCH of John Varley's Ophiuchi Hotline, where a women (while exploring her `strong female heroine-ness') is split into cloned bodies as she travels out of the system.』
(Not Free SF Reader) 『Swanwick has written an intriguing biological themed cyberpunk tract. The Earth AI that has evolved is very creepy, far more so than the one in the Forever War. As, of course, is personality role-programming. However, The Compris does provide an interesting conversation at the end with the protagonist's team, who are its declared enemies. You also don't want vacuum flowers in your garden, that is for sure.

(If you could change your personality...) 『The central technological advancement of this book is the plug-in personality. You go into a clinic and get yourself "wetwired" to perform any given task (janitor, policeman, doctor), or simply augment the personality you have (give yourself more confidence, sex appeal, or even make yourself shy and introverted if that's in style). The protagonist, Rebel Elizabeth Mudlark, is a recorded personality (a real one) who has taken over the body she's being tested in. She's being hunted by the corporation that "owns" her, and trying to discover why she was created.
This shell of a plot leads us from Eros Kluster, a loose affiliation of space habitats near the asteroid belt, to Mars, a futuristic communist state where citizens are programmed to work on the latest 200-year plan, to Earth, a collective entity consisting of every human being on the planet, known as the Comprise.
The book is generally fun, there's enough action, sex, and funky technology to sustain anyone's interest, and it's not that long. the climactic commando attack on the Comprise is exciting and would make an incredible sequence in a movie or graphic novel.
The problem is that Swanwick is generally more interested in showing us the worlds he's created, and doesn't spend enough time dealing with the story and characters. The trick to that is, he throws out a dozen neologisms every few pages (some of which are inconsequential), and it takes a while for the meaning of everything to sink in. The fact that most of the book takes place in the low-gravity of space stations is barely mentioned. Furthermore, the places the characters visit aren't well-described, at least not in a three-dimensional, physical sort of way, which I found very frustrating. In general, most science-fiction operates like this, so most readers shouldn't mind.
The characters themselves never get quite enough attention. Rebel wants to be the hero, but spends most of her time watching everything else going on, and listening to people speak. The only other character who's present throughout is Wyeth, a man whose personality has been split up into four distinct personas. He's interesting, as are all the minor characters they meet along the way, but he never quite connects. When these two end up in love, I felt like I'd missed a third of the book.
"Vacuum Flowers" has enough hardware to fill out a novel twice as long, so as it is it's a very fast, very crowded little book.』
