Unfortunately, the unit just would not vacuum enough air out of the bags. Trapped air will result in freezer burn. Plus, it made all kinds of loud noise when attemtping to vacuum. When in sealing mode, the red light would flash and more often than not would fail at sealing. I called the company. The technician could hear the noise over the phone and told me it was a faulty pump. Okay, I guess there are a certain percent that are lemons. I could have returned it to the vendor or exchanged it through the company's warranty program. Since I had the company on the phone, I chose the latter. As soon as I had a UPS tracking number on my return to give them, they shipped me a new one. The good news was they upgraded my unit to the V2460 and let me keep the rolls of plastic that came with the original. This offset my return shipping cost. I had to temporarily freeze my elk meat in zip-locks while all this was going on, and yes, it was starting to freezer burn already in spots where air was trapped. The new unit works pretty good. I got the job done, but it would be nice if the vacuum was a little stronger and able to get more trapped air out before stopping and going into sealing mode.』

(Helpful hints when using your FoodSaver) 『Excellent product! I've had a Tilia FoodSaver Vac for about 9 years (I asked for it for my birthday) and have never had a problem with it. If the person who said that one corner didn't seal will check the rubber on the lid, it may have slid to one side and isn't making contact with the bag when trying to seal it. This would make it not seal completely. No one has offered hints to make using the Tilia FoodSaver Vac more economical or practical so here are some suggestions: (1) When making a bag, if the meat(as an example) is a steak 8 inches long, make the bag at least 12 inches long. The reason for this is that the bags can be washed and reused over and over until they're too small to use and still seal. (2) After sealing the bag, there is about an inch of waste bag material on the end you just sealed so take a felt tip marker and write on that end, what it is, the weight, and the date. When you open the bag to use the "meat", cut off the end you wrote on, wash the bag, reuse it and write on the new end when you seal it again. (3) For sanitary purposes even though I wash the bag, when I reuse it for meat, I wrap the meat in plastic wrap before putting it in the bag. (4) If you want to put liquid in a bag for sealing, put the liquid in a zip lock bag and freeze it and when it's frozen, take the contents out of the zip lock and put it in a Tilia FoodSaver Vac bag and seal it as you normally would. If you try to seal a liquid in the bag unfrozen, the vac will pull the liquid into the motor and ruin it. I hope this helps some of you.
P.S. To thaw the meat I run HOT water in the sink and immerse the bag and leave it to thaw quickly. Thinner meats like chops or some steaks thawing will take about 15 minutes and naturally thicker ones take longer. I check by trying to bend the meat (still in the bag of course). If it's totally flexible it's thawed. If you want to thaw meat that's not in a Vac Bag just take a gallon zip lock type bag, put the meat in it and start submerging the bag. Zip the bag closed all but one corner which is kept above the water line and as you submerge the bag the water pushes the air out of the bag right up through that corner. Carefully lower the bag to the zip line and seal it. Now you have a vacuumed bag. If you don't have a vac machine and want to freeze something, do the zip thing in cold water, dry the bag and put it in the freezer now you have a cheap vacuumed, sealed bag and your food will last longer with the air removed. I've been doing this for years and have never ruined meat, ever. I'm quite impressed with the Miele bags. I'm used to having to deal with paper vacuum bags, the kind that have a cardboard flange which has to be pushed onto a stem or hose in the bag compartment: the kind of bag that always seems to have dirt sifting out of it when it's time to install a fresh bag.
It's a pleasure to use Miele vacuum bags. They're made of a nonwoven fabric which is lined with aluminum foiled plastic, and they have a plastic flange that neatly snaps into a holder. It's impossible to install them incorrectly because of some thoughtfully-designed arrow guides. Once the bag is snapped into place and the door of the bag compartment is lowered, the vacuum hose automatically inserts into the Miele vacuum bag.
When it's time to change the bag, all I have to do is hold the bag by two little tabs at the top of the flange, and lift it up out of the holder. A plastic tab rolls down over the opening in the bag, automatically sealing the bag for disposal.
Someone put a lot of thought into the design of these bags and it shows!』
(Wow) 『I am thrilled with the Miele system. The bags caught most, if not all (hey I don't have a microscope) of my dust, dust mites and their and my blech. I live in Oregon, land of 24/7 365 moisture. So dust mites love it here. And I happen to live in a valley... grass grass pollen pollen. I also have a cat that loves to quite literally roll around in the dirt. After testing a Miele Aquarius on my entire carpeted apartment, it was a no brainer to get a Miele. The first night I had my loaner from a friend I thoroughly cleaned my bedroom and that night I slept better. In the morning instead of going through a dozen or more tissues I just needed one. I also did not have to blow my nose in the middle of the night. I already have an amazing non-toxic mattress that the mites can't live in so I knew the problem was carpet, dust and moisture related. I ended up with the Gemini Miele as I don't need the Automatic (extra function) of the Aquarius. I did want the backlit knob indicator which is why I went with the Gemini over the Callisto. I purchased through Witbecks and they have been amazing in service and I would definitely buy from them again.
ps People, if you have allergies... look at your laundry detergent too.... I am simply flabbergasted how many people say they have allergies and use scented detergent, fabric softener, and dryer sheets!!!!!! That synthetic fragrance is definitely exacerbating any allergies you may have. That includes any 'plug-ins' or the like. And the option where you switch the small attachment to the air outtake part of the vacuum and use it as a blower...well that is equally weak, lame, and useless as well. Trust me, take your money and buy a few cans of compressed air. It cleans much better (well anything would clean better), and you can actually see, and feel it blowing the dirt away.』

I charged it (according to the directions) and tried it out (we all want that first try to "play" with our new "toys"). My first impression was... I wasn't impressed.
I Assumed (hoped, really) that I had done something incorrectly (Maybe I didn't fully charge it when I thought I had? Maybe I hadn't put the attachments on properly? (I know, "How can one mess up the attachments?" but, hey, I was trying to give it the benefit of the doubt)). I put it away until I could take more time to check it again later, when we got home.
When I did have the opportunity? Pbbbb! It still didn't do squat (and this time I knew it was not me!). I checked the cord connections. I checked the attachments,... and I definitely had it fully charged! The suction just was not there. It was so minimal that I couldn't feel it. I couldn't feel anything at all. The blower felt like it would work though, and it did/does... to a certain degree. It blows the tiiiiniest of dust particles off the surface of the keyboard, if they aren't caught on another piece of dust, but that's about it. It won't blow anything at all out from under the keys. At least, mine won't.
I think the vacuum might sort-of-work if you take the brush off and place the end flat against the keys, or the screen, but that sounds somewhat destructive on the screen.
Unfortunately for me, I threw the packaging away at the home where I opened it so I didn't think I could return it. (If you know different, I would love to hear that I still can still could)
The description of the vacuum on all of the sites I checked (5-7 of them) list it as, "A high-powered, 3-way..." I'm sorry (and I really am!), but that just isn't true for mine. The only thing "high-powered" about this vacuum (that I can see) is the description...
Twenty-five dollars may not sound like much but, to us, it is, and my husband feels badly because he bought this gift for me that doesn't do the job it's supposed to. I still keep turning it on, hoping it will all-of-a-sudden do what it's supposed to do :)
Live and learn from other's purchases.
As I said before (to give this vacuum the benefit of the doubt), it could be that I did just happen to get a lemon, but I wouldn't reccommend this vacuum to you. There has to be a better machine out there, which isn't overly expensive. I'm going to find it; I still want a vacuum for my computer! :)
I hope I have given you enough information (albeit, negative) to help you find the best computer vacuum for you. On the positive side, the manufacturer included the rechargable batteries, the power cord, the little charging station, which is pretty cool because it holds the attachments very nicely, and the clear blue plastic is really cool.
I'm such an optimist... I've got the thing charging again to see if it will do something this time. :)

But, if you intend to do alot of cutting look into the ergonomic one that is also offered by Olfa. Some people don't like the fact that you have to remember to close the safety on this one by I found that getting in the habit is better than counting on something mechanical to remember.

We have had several plastic pieces break off of the machine that make it impossible to use. The warranty has expired (mine was only covered for 2 years), so as far as I'm concerned it was not worth the price.』

Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Okay for modeling mom (or dad)) 『I bought the Tidy Time Vacuum because my 2-year old daughter tries so hard to take my actual vacuum out of my hands whenever I am cleaning the house. I would have let her continue to take my vacuum - believe me - if it weren't too heavy for her, which frustrated her quite a bit. She enjoys the Tidy Time Vacuum a lot, but usually only "plays" with it when I'm cleaning - in other words, for her, it really is about doing what mommy is doing, vs. a toy she plays with regularly on her own. The vacuum itself is quite realistic in terms of look and sound - there are tiny white beads just inside the handheld component that move about as the vacuum "whirrs" - and the vacuum actually works! I've had to clean it out several times which, by the way, can be tricky to do as you have to stick your fingers through a smallish opening to pull out whatever has been sucked up into it.
