I have a hip and foot problem so vacumming is difficult. (No I'm not old but fractured my heel which through off my hip). In two of my rooms I have a very thick semi-shag and with this vacuum it is very hard to push. I end up using both hands to push and pull it. On the other hand it works wonderful on area rugs, tile and hardwood. So I went back to my self-propelled Hoover, which breaks frequently might I add, once it got back from the repair shop and use the Platium only on the above mentioned. It has great suction and lifts the pile well on all the carpets but what I have been using the most is the little hand-held vacumm that came with it in place of having the tools on board. This helps lighten the weight of the main vacumm. I use it to sweep my kitchen floor in between the normal vacumming, to clean my car, for any quick job. Overall I was pretty satisfied with everything. My only suggestion would be to improve its performance on the heaver carpets.』

It took a couple minutes to get snapped on to the vacuum correctly, but is otherwise easy to use and clean afterwards. From what I could tell, it cleaned the floor probably as well as a regular mop, but it took about three times as long (once over with the solution, then a couple more times to suck up all the water, not to mention the maneuverability is a pain!) The SteamVac itself is great, but I wouldn't recommend the bare floor attachment, unless you have a lot of extra time to kill.』

When I bought bags from my local Kirby dealer, there was one type that I could purchase, the HEPA filtriaton bags. Unfortunately, they were about $25 for four bags. I probably did not read the description of these bags, and assumed I would be getting the same material as the HEPA bags; they are not. They work fine, however, and are a great deal for the price. When I changed the bag just this week, I noticed more dust in the vacuum than I had ever seen with the more expensive HEPA bags, but no matter. I would probably purchase these bags again, unless I saw a similar deal with the HEPA bags. Be sure to change them when the debris reaches the line on the bag. Beyond that, you will definitely lose suction power (another positive regarding the HEPA bag, as that did not happen. You could vacuum to the top with them!) Happy vacuuming!』

I followed the standard battery reset and charge procedure only to have the robot run for two minutes and die. After calling iRobot, the determination was that the battery had been sitting in inventory for too long. I paid the shipping to return the battery. iRobot shipped a battery to me for free.』
(Held it's charge for 2 months...) 『I bought this to replace an original dead batter for the Roomba. I followed the charging procedures and then let it do it's thing. The battery lasted for about two months. After that, the roomba would dock and charge full, then when I told it to clean, it'd start cleaning for 15 secs, then it'd start beeping and die. Now my Roomba just sits on the ground collecting dust.』
(Defective Battery/ Home Base Charging Unit) 『I purchased and received two batteries. Since they take overnight basically to charge, I put one in each sweeper and left overnight. In the meantime my wife destroyed the packaging materials, P/L, etc. in her usual manner of cleaning up my waste. The next day I used one of the sweepers as a test and all was fine. When I tried the second one, even though the green light says fully charged, the unit would go app 4 inches and stop with the red lighs and dead battery beep. Several attempts to charge the battery have failed. The one good battery will chare just fine in the 2nd sweeper.
In another purchase I bought the quick charger Home Station that goes with the Roomba Sweeper. It will not work to charge the battery. I can plug straight into the unit and battery charges just fine. Not so in the home base charging unit.
In a word or two, I was hosed two times buying here for the same type replacement products.

(Not an authentic iRobot brand battery) 『I just received this order and discovered that, despite the deceptive photo for the product description, this is a generic replacement and not an authentic iRobot brand battery. I have not yet tested it to see how well it performs; but I am quite upset with the deceptive product description. Now that I read the reviews others have written, I find several reviews that point out that this is a generic brand battery-- I wish I had read those more carefully before buying this battery.
There are several other companies selling aftermarket batteries for the Roomba on Amazon. I have no idea if they are better or worse than this one-- but several are cheaper and clearly identify themselves as aftermarket, 3rd party batteries. I decided to pay a little bit more for this battery because I thought I was getting an iRobot brand battery.
So, if you are considering buying this battery hopefully you read these reviews more carefully than I did and know ahead of time what you are getting for your money.』

Now with twin 18-month-old boys and two dogs, we needed something with more power, as well as an upholstery attachment for our light-colored microfiber couch.
This carpet cleaner has been worth every penny. Tonight it handled a stain from red Jell-O and ground-in mud that came in on one of our dogs' paws -- all with absolutely no problem. LIKE MAGIC!
It is of course heavy because it's a heavy-duty cleaner, but that's understandable. We complained at first that there was no carrying handle to take the cleaner up and down the stairs, but then we found it just above the clean water tank, clearly labeled "carry handle." The auto mixing feature that mixes water and solution is excellent (never waste solution!), and the attachment is powerful. Refilling and emptying the clean and dirty water tanks is a cinch.
This cleaner makes our carpets look like new, and I have yet to find a mess this thing can't handle. Absolutely five stars.』

(Good Motor - But an unreliable product with the included filter) 『You cannot expect the world for a lower priced wet/dry vac, but this product's performance ranks well below its price because the included filter is useless. You are better off with any other product unless you immediately throw the paper filter away and upgrade to a cylinder 903-- type filter. The paper filter that comes with the vacuum is secured by a plastic ring that you push (not screw or latch) on. It WILL will fall off during use with no warning - instantly blowing any dust you have collected into the room. By the time you see the dust it is too late. This happened three times in the first day of use (yes, we did push the ring on tightly, especially after the second time - didn't help). We would have been better of never turning it on. Again, purchase this product only if you upgrade the filter prior to first use.』

The night we moved in to our new house, a freak hailstorm flooded our basement. I borrowed my father-in-law's industrial-sized vacuum to clean up the mess, and it was just too big to maneuver in my basement and I almost broke my back lugging the eight-gallon tank up the stairs to empty it out.
For most home applications, I think three-five gallons is about right, so this six-gallon model would be appropriate if you anticipate the need for more capacity but don't feel like you need the extra power of a four-HP or better model. Even with the slightly higher capacity, it's still small enough to be maneuverable in cramped quarters.
The Quiet-Deluxe series, as the name suggests, are very quiet indeed, which makes this a good choice for home use. It has a blower feature for use in the yard, and comes with a selection of useful accessories. My one complaint about this model is that the hose was a little narrow, especially where it enters the vacuum. While I never had a problem with clogging, it seemed like this could be an issue depending on what you're trying to clean up.
Other than that, this is a great little vacuum with enough power and capacity for most home or small-business applications.--Josh Dettweiler
