(Good quality) I had a very hard time getting these to seal. I like the bags better I have been using these bags for years. I cut 4-5 bags, about 12 inches long, at a time and seal the bottoms. When I wash them I put them over a wooden spoon in the drain. I label them above the cut-off line before sealing. I like buying chicken, chops, steaks, and burger in bulk at Sam's and divide them up into small, meal-sized portions. Blue berries freeze well as do strawberries. I cook up meat balls and freeze them. This machine and the bags are a wonderful addition to any kitchen and has an unlimited number of uses.. It will save you money and make your life a lot simpler. I purchased 3-roll refills for my Foodsaver. My wife and I are able to take advantage of sale prices on meat, fruit, and vegetables thanks to the Foodsaver. By cutting up "family value pack" sizes into single meal sizes, then vacuum-packing them using the Foodsaver, we are able to freeze them and not worry about loss of flavor or freezer burn for a very long time. Frozen foods vacuum-packed using the Foodsaver and these refills keep in the freezer several times longer without loss of quality. And the bags themselves, are reusable after washing! I highly recommend this product to save you money, and to take advantage of sales and growing seasons. Getting started is a little expensive, but you'll get that back with interest in no time. What else can be said for FoodSaver that hasn't been said before? It is a great product and I'm sorry I didn't start using it years ago. It does seem pricey but if you've ever gone to your freezer for that expensive steak you forgot about and found it had freezer burn and unusable the steak is more expensive to toss than the cost of the bag you made. I also noticed that frozen items sealed in the FoodSaver bags tend to defrost a little quicker. I love the 11" X 18' roll size which you can easily cut to the size you need. I have and use all of the FoodSaver products. What sold me on FoodSaver products was an infomercial I saw some years ago where they pealed and sliced an avocado and put the slices into a bag and sealed it. After being refrigerated for days the avocado didn't turn brown and was still fresh. Yes, I did try it and the claim is true. The bags that you make from the roll are also great for marinating. The uses are almost endless. The best part is that the bags are strong enough to be washed out and reused except if they had contained meat, chicken, etc.. If an old bag is just too small to use you can cut it up and put the pieces over the sharp edges of bones before you seal it. Cheapest place in town to buy these bags. We fish a lot and needd good quality bags that prevent freezer burn. Love being able to cut size needed. Highly Recommend!! (Great Product) Although the shop vac works very well and was easy to assemble, it seems a bit on the light side, especially the attachments. Since my online purchase I have also found similar machines with the same HP at Sears and HD for much less. Bottom line, however, is that so far the machine works well and seems to have lots of power. Its just too soon to tell....... This unit was easy to assemble and has nice design features. Its smaller 6 gallon size makes using it on a regular basis a breeze. You will not break your back lugging it around. The Shop Vac has a large handle on top and pulls easily on four large swiveling casters. It comes with an effective air filter that gets the job done. Also included, is one disposable bag. I recommend the purchase of additional bags - they come in a handy three-pack. However, if you don't mind dumping Shop Vac's contents manually, then please disregard my suggestion. My main use for this machine is keeping my large front porch area clean and maintaining some semblance of a tidy garage floor. Obviously, the dry suction feature of the Shop Vac is the reason for my purchase. Given the excellent construction of this unit, I can only surmise that Shop Vac's ability to suck-up standing water will be equally as impressive as it's dry function has been for me. Final thought: This is an excellent value for under $60 if your needs are for ordinary standard usage. This was bought as a replacement to a shop-vac that we had for years and finally quit for good. The vac was purchased for a small basement that serves as a large storm cellar. When it rains a great deal we get puddles and this vac does the job of getting rid of the wet while the size makes it convenient to dump into sump hole or tote upstairs if required. Once in awhile our sump pump will fail and parts of the floor will be wet as a result. This vac is great for getting a wet floor dry again. The tank capacity is about as big as a person wants to lug around. Mighty Mouse isn't the only one who can save the day. This vacuum is there when you're in a jam. My predicament was a tiled shower floor that I could not regrout - the surface beneath the tiles was draining so poorly that it stayed wet - the grout would never set. The mildew thrived and I cussed. Finally, I tried the Shop Vac with crevice tool. It pulled all the water from beneath the tiles in a few minutes. The grout set. We have a cat that sometimes overdoes munching on grass and up it comes, on the carpet. I spent over $50 on a special vacuum to clean that kind of mess up. Now I can see that the Shop Vac can handle the same job almost as easily. If you've got pets, your gonna love this little machine. The wheels and handle make it a easy to roll or carry around the house. The collection container is a cinch to rinse clean. I also like the fact that this model will accept nearly every special purpose accessory, including disposable bags, foam filters for messy liquid situations, HEPA filters for allergy situations, and more. I'm almost looking forward to the next messy situation. When my husband requested a wet dry vac for Christmas I was a bit panic stricken as I know nothing about choosing that sort of product. After a little research I selected this item and hoped for the best. My husband who runs a plumbing and heating company has said this product has saved the day more then once. It's great for cleaning up debris after a dirty job. His comments are that it has lots of power and suction, a good selection of attachments and it is very quiet. Took it back to the store and ordered this one. What a difference. 99.9% of the dust is collected flawlessly with this model. What little dropped to the floor I collected by just holding the sander to the floor for a moment. No fine dust flying around at all. It has rubber grips and you can hold it from multiple directions comfortably (two hands at once even). I'm using it with a Ridgid 16 gallon vacuum with an upgraded filter in it. Note that I am sanding very hard hot mud with it - not the soft top coat stuff. It comes with 220 grit screen and that works very well on this compound. Definite keeper. Not sure why Shop Vac has not pulled their model from the market after seeing this one. This sander was a decent solution to my sanding problems, but it has some issues as well. I needed something to augment a Porter-Cable wall sander while I refinished hallways and staircase walls. The Porter-Cable sander is an amazing tool (a little expensive), but something else was needed for the edge-work. That's where this Marshalltown vacuum came in. It does a good job of sanding, but because it isn't an orbital sander you really need to be careful not to grind straight lines right into your walls. With the vacuum applied it is also tiring to move because it adheres to the wall so tightly. In the end, it serves its purpose for edge work, but it is still a pretty rough tool. I replaced the hose that was included because it was to flimsy. Overall, the product works pretty well. I have used it to help me finish my basement. The sander comes with a long enough tube, so I didn't need to constantly move the shop vac. Comes with some 220 grid screen. It is really nice when your sanding ceiling work. It cuts the dust by at least 90% I just bought this unit last week and tried it over the weekend and it worked great. The big mess I used to have is finally gone. Since it is so much cleaner, I can actually take my time and do a good job. I highly recommend! Purchased a Marshalltown VS792 Vacuum Sander with hose. Frankly I figured it was a waste of money as I had tried some other gadgets to reduce the dust in sanding sheet rock. I connected this vacuum sander up to a 6 hp shop vacuum and "wow" it actually worked. Recommend it.
