I bought this to make smoothies out of frozen fruit and milk. It works great at pulverizing the chunks of frozen fruit and incorporating them into the milk. I also use a lot less milk than I did using a regular blender. And my smoothie turns out to be like soft serve ice cream. Yum! This is really easy and comfortable to use. I like that the blending shaft pops off for easy cleaning. I am so pleased with this!!
No complaints, works as described. Nice that the immersed part separates from the motor, so you can put it in the dishwasher.
I love my new Cuisinart Smartstick. It's great for making creamy soups and it's so easy to use. Clean-up is a snap. Now I can take that ugly blender off my counter! Also great for smoothies...it comes with its own blender cup. I definitely recommend this product.
I purchased this item for my sister and brother-in-law and the first day he made potato pancakes with it. They are very pleased with the power and little clean-up required afterward.
I just bought this blender and it's a great appliance that fits my needs. I don't want to bother with a giant full-sized blender and the cleanup afterwards and I only really want to make one cup for myself at a time. It's extremely easy to clean and works well. I was a little scared to crush ice the first time I used it because I didn't think it could handle the pressure but it blends just fine. Although, I would recommend pureeing soft and liquid ingredients first then adding the ice and other frozen items a little at a time rather than all at once and full on pressing down hoping it'll puree (frozen fruit tended to clump and freeze into a massive chunk at the bottom that didn't move). I've only had this product a week now and have made about 6 smoothies and am glad I made the purchase - no more blowing my wallet on going out for smoothies! However, after reading some of the lower rated reviews, I am weary of the 3 month marker this product seems to have on durability. But in the meantime, I am pleased and enjoy making my own smoothies!

I got everything I wanted in a vacuum: user-friendly, light, a killer carpet cleaner, and easy to maintain. I found that with my Dyson DC 25.

How picky am I: Very. I am quick to complain about any little fault I find in a product.

Our house: My husband and I live in a three-level condo. All the rooms are carpeted, minus the kitchen, bathrooms, and dining room.

Time owned: We bought it in November 2008.

Putting together: Super easy. I'm one who really needs easy directions and this was a snap to put together.

First use: The first time we used this vacuum, we picked up five canisters full of dog hair from the previous owners' dog.

Weekly/biweekly use: We vacuum once a week, sometimes twice a week, and the vacuum picks up dust, dirt, and whatever is on the floor. The canister usually fills up about two thirds, maybe a little more. It's so easy to dump the junk directly into the garbage can.

Use on stairs: Fantastic. We have 13 stairs and the tube reaches all the way up. The tube and attachments pick up everything.

Weight: It's easy to carry up stairs and push around.

Ball: Awesome.

Cord: I don't mind that it doesn't have a self-retracting cord; I think that would have made the device heavier. It's really easy to unplug and move from room-to-room. Wrapping the cord around the back is not hard at all. Sometimes the cord gets in the way when I'm vacuuming, but it's really easily to hold or move.

Maintenance: It is so easy to take out the two filters and clean them and put them back.

Customer service: Amazing. There is a seam in the back of the canister that I mistook for a crack. So I called customer service. They lady I talked with was so nice. I told her what my problem was; she didn't ask any questions and sent a new one immediately, free of charge. It turned out that the new canister had the exact same seam, so I took a closer look and I realized that I had been mistaken. The "crack" was actually a seam. There was nothing wrong with the first canister at all. So I have the second canister just in case anything does happen.

Cost: Pricey, but worth every single penny. I love this vacuum. I wish my parents could have had one when I was growing up. Just having a bag-less vacuum saves so much energy that can be spent on replacing a bag. And this is a bag-less vacuum that is light, easy to use, and works.

How do I feel about vacuuming: I used to hate everything about it. In the past I used vacuums that were too heavy, didn't do the job completely, required a lot of maintenance, and were too complicated. It was so frustrating getting so little reward for so much effort. Now it is such an easy to thing to do. It doesn't take up a lot of time, and it's actually fun (!) because I can see all the dirt I've picked up at the end after so little effort.
I was hoping to be blown away with this product as so many others seem to be, especially coming from a previous vacuum with a $70 price tag. It is certainly better overall than my prior vacuum but still has some shortcomings.

THE GOOD
I primarily use it on hardwood and tile without the brush spinning. In this regard it works much better than my old vacuum which didn't have a brush shutoff. Dog hair now doesn't run away from me since there is no brush spinning and creating a fan of air.
For the first few weeks I owned this vacuum I also didn't think a whole lot of the ball design. I could twist it some and it made things a little easier, but not sure it was worth the extra money. But as time has gone on, I have gotten much better with the handling and it has become a much appreciated feature. It really makes the job go faster now, so if you just got one and aren't impressed with the ball just give it a little time.
The extendable hose is really great for cleaning stairs. The vacuum stays pretty much in place at the base of the stairs. Normally I just lift the vacuum up and run it over the stairs with the main brush, though, since there is a handle on the front of the vacuum that makes this easy to do and the vacuum is pretty light-weight.

THE GRIPES
I'd have to say that using the extendable hose on flat ground can sometimes be 'painful' because the hose pulls the vacuum pretty close behind and the hose will grab and yank your leg hair if you're a guy (or a burly gal). So I end up having to use one hand to keep the hose extended away from me and the other to actually guide the hose attachment.
It is also pretty poor at sucking up pretty much anything from our wool rug unless we use the brush. Even stuff sitting on the surface of the rug (not imbedded at all) won't get sucked up unless the brush is spinning. The reason that can be a problem is because if you do use the brush, it will also pull up lots of wool fibers from your rug. I have to empty the canister because it is full of rug fibers after vacuuming just one 8x10 rug. That also may not be good long-term for the rug.
Other complaints are that the circular dirt bin only holds dust/dirt near the outter perimeter as most of the bin is occupied by a tube the drops the dirt in there. I may not be describing it very well, but if you have dog hair it probably won't fall out of the container when you press the button to release the contents without you fishing your hand up there and pulling it out yourself since it is wedged against that inner tube and the outside of the dirt bin (probably an inch or less of space there). I have a black lab, which isn't a particularly long hair dog, either. That kind of defeats the purpose of the quick clean dirt bin, I think, since your hands still get all dusty from pulling stuff wedged in the bin.
Final complaint is the short power cord, although it really isn't that big of a deal. I wish they could have added another 5 - 10 feet but I can get over it.

OVERALL
I'd say this is a pretty good vacuum. I really do like the ball design now, even though I was not impressed initially. Just have to have a litte practice at it and start to understand when and how it can help. It does work well on stairs and I'm glad I didn't buy a canister for that as I had considered. I can't really speak to how well it does on carpet, as the only carpet I've used it on is very worn-down berber so it didn't have to fight thru any depth to get to the dirt. Suction seems strong, except on a thick pile rug.

I had my carpets professionally cleaned and bought this shortly after. I was amazed at the amount of dirt, hair, lint, and all kinds of stuff this baby picked up. I had to empty the container sometimes twice in a 12x20 area. The difference in air quality in my house is noticeable after having vacuumed the whole place with this great piece of equipment. I also love how easy it is to maneuver.

The clear canister makes emptying a pleasure instead of a chore (I get a kick out of not having to buy anymore bags :) ). To empty the canister I press one button on the vacuum to separate the canister from the vacuum body, walk over to my outside garbage can, hold the canister over the garbage can, click a red button and poof, everything falls into my garbage can. I then place the trap door at the bottom of the canister on the ground and press gently from the top of the canister to secure the door in place. Not once have I gotten dirty while changing the "bag". Thoroughly cleaning the filters is more involved but that doesn't need to happen at every bag change.

Anyway, I can't say enough good things about this device. They have really done their homework in its design and I'm glad I paid every penny for it. I have a combination of hardwood and carpet floors in my house and this guy cleans them both without a hitch.

The only one thing is that the handle is a bit awkward to use. But love the fact that it is integrated in the vacuum itself rather than on the side.

A lot of thought went into purchasing this "machine" many months ago. My husband and I purchased the Dyson in November 2008. I still can't get over how wonderful this product is. I'm always amazed at how well it picks up EVERYTHING and never loses suction! Then I sit and wonder.....is my house really that dirty??!!
I especially love pulling out the hose to vacuum my stairs. Lightweight, easy to clean.
I also have 3 cats and without this Dyson, I really don't think my carpets would be as clean. I had a cat sitter over and she thought I shampooed my carpets - that's how well it works!!!

I read a lot of these reviews before selecting a vacuum for my carpet and hard wood floors. After having a bagless vaccum before, I knew I didn't want that! My husband was so happy I selected such an inexpensive vacuum. I like the long cord - I could do my whole livingroom without unplugging. I love the power - I feel like I have a clean floor for the first time in a long time. HOWEVER - it is REALLY REALLY HEAVY and hard to push! So much more than other vacuums. I am a 35-year-old active woman, who, admittedly, could work out more - but I was really getting tired pushing and pulling this thing. Not that that is a bad thing. I could use a bit more natural excercize - but I wasn't expecting it. I don't remember other reviews on the subject. So, be prepared!~
I have had this vacuum for about a year and it has worked wonderfully! I had the previous model as well for about 4 years and it too was a great vacuum.

I work my vacuums to death! In my home, we have 3 large dogs, 4 guinea pigs, 2 mice, 1 cat and twin 8 year old kids. We also have dark green carpet that shows EVERYTHING that touches it. This vacuum does such a good job, after I have cleaned, my carpet looks like it has just been shampooed. It works as well today as it did the day I bought it.

If you need a vacuum that works great for pet hair, this is the one!

I was on a quest to find a vacuum with a stretchy hose. I was tired of my old vacuum tipping over when I'd clean with the hose and attachments; it just had no give. The hose on this is VERY STRETCHY! However, after using this for about two years, the hose is now stretched out, and it droops from its storage spot, and gets in my way when I vacuum. Also, from the start I found it very difficult to snap the hose attachments into their storage places on the back of the vacuum. They continually fall off and after losing them several times I now store them in another place. Also, it is too wide to get into many tight spots. And finally, it is crazy HEAVY. It vacuums great so I'm giving it three stars, but there are so many negative features to this I was tempted to give it two.
Very good design, great suction, self propelled, does an excellent job on carpeting. I would gladly pay more for the same vacuum made of more durable materials. It is, of course, made in China of flimsy plastic. Having tried several other vacuums over the last two years, the 4870 is a terrific improvement. Nothing else lasted even a year and nothing else cleaned so well. This is so easy to use and does such a good job that I vacuum every day. Pet hair, dust, ashes, etc all cleaned up in short order. Just pull it out, whiz it around and everything looks great. 30 ft cord is very helpful.

For those who complain about carrying the vacuum up and down stairs, I recommend getting a second one for upstairs. It will double the life of both and give you twice as long for easy cleaning without back problems. Also, the pedal that releases the vacuum into working position pushes toward the left, not back to front as most vacuums. The vacuum bag has to be inserted exactly right or the bag compartment will fill with dirt and the tubes will plug up. (Yes I did this on the first day). Moving from carpeting to bare floors means a full stop to readjust things, but most of my cleaning is carpet or Oriental rugs.

But for heavy duty vacuuming of carpeting, this vacuum is the best.

Finally! A machine that works as promised. Somewhat hesitant to buy this unit originally based on other reviews concerning the overuse of plastic on the unit but so far it's working well. I was glad to chunk my old Bissell (only 2 years old) since it was very prone to clogging. This Hoover model was expensive but it does come with a six year warranty and I fully expect to get at least six years use from it. The blue light is very helpful in finding pet stains which is our main concern.
I had my carpets cleaned a month prior as my previous Hoover finally gave out. Was I surprised when this Hoover Platinum did even better than the professionals. It removed spots that they didn't get which included pet stains and my carpeting looked cleaner and brighter. I love this machine!
Honestly, I was a little worried about the flimsy construction of this item while assembling it from out of the box. So far nothing's broken, and it has done a terriffic job on my carpet. I recommend it!

Not sure how much I can review a belt for my vacuum, but this 2-pack of belts arrived in good packaging and quickly. The belts were a snug fit and felt sturdy. They went on with a little fuss since they were a tight fit but have performed wonderfully and allow my vacuum to perform as it should.
These belts have lasted longer than the belts that came with the vacuum. I wasn't able to find them at the store so it is great to have a bunch on hand and free shipping too!

These Kirby bags for the G5 were a great deal, but I was expecting a little more. When I bought bags from my local Kirby dealer, there was one type that I could purchase, the HEPA filtriaton bags. Unfortunately, they were about $25 for four bags.
I probably did not read the description of these bags, and assumed I would be getting the same material as the HEPA bags; they are not. They work fine, however, and are a great deal for the price. When I changed the bag just this week, I noticed more dust in the vacuum than I had ever seen with the more expensive HEPA bags, but no matter. I would probably purchase these bags again, unless I saw a similar deal with the HEPA bags. Be sure to change them when the debris reaches the line on the bag. Beyond that, you will definitely lose suction power (another positive regarding the HEPA bag, as that did not happen. You could vacuum to the top with them!) Happy vacuuming!

I purchased this to mount a small 1.2lb camera inside the car. While it does hold the camera it does wiggle this makeing it unusable inside a moving car. It works great when the car is stationary. The unit is made completly out of plastic which is probably why there is so much flex in the mount.
I bought this product specifically for making youth hockey videos. It is a great foundation for that purpose, but when everything is tightened down, the camera mount won't swivel. It is designed for mounting a camera in a fixed position, which it is very well-designed for. To add the needed pan/tilt required for sports video, I've added a Bogen-Manfrotto 3229 Swivel Tilt Monopod Head ($34.90 from Adorama). This head also adds a quick-release feature to your setup. It's now the perfect combo for hockey video. Just use the built-in pump to stick it to the glass and go. Now those long-distance zooms to catch plays at the opposite end of the ice aren't so shaky. This is a VERY stable unit when fully tightened down. Highly recommended, especially for the great price.
I am a pilot and I use this mount to make cockpit videos and even with tough landings, it holds the camera very still. Very easy to use and very useful if you need steady footage.
This is by the far the cheapest Camera mount you can find which does the job perfectly , i have done a bunch of home movies using this mount on my car and my friends cars and everyone is enjoying the quality of movies duo to the stability of the camera on the mount

I used this fitting as a component of a Dust Collection box for my radial arm saw. It was very sturdy as I had expected since it was a Jet product. And for the price I paid I think it was a really great bargain.

It's plastic and joins my two pieces of 4" hose. Does what it's supposed to. I don't see a difference between mfgs so make sure you get it on sale.
The Jet 4-Inch Splice is used for connecting flexible hose to make longer lengths. The Splice connect full sections of hose and allows to the user to utilize short sections of hose. The outer diameter is 4 inches. Slightly undersized, it easily fits inside hose.

Okay, how can I say it's a great bag? I understand what some may think, however, after cleaning up many different types of nail, glass, metal scraps and shards, and really filling this in my 18 gallon Shop Vac, this thing did not rip. That was impressive. Dust stays in, where it belongs. For the price, I think they are well worth it. I can't think of much more to say about a bag, except it fits well.
Great if it is dry only. Slightest bit of moisture makes the bag break. Creates a mess.
I purchased a new Contractor-grade 16-gallon Shop Vac for a big drywall dust clean-up job (to clean up my new 2400 sq. foot house that is being built), and wanted something that would do the job without clogging the vacuum filter and/or motor or spewing dust back into the air. I have destroyed vacuums in the past by sucking up drywall dust, and didn't want to see a brand new $140 Shop Vac bite the dust, no pun intended. The high efficiency Shop Vac bag seemed like a great option, especially because drywall dust clings to everything, and figured that I would go through multiple HEPA filters (if I opted not to use a collection bag) to clean up an entire house full of drywall dust.

The bottom line is that these "high efficiency" bags by Shop Vac are simply outstanding. After sucking over 40 lbs of drywall dust into this bag, I hardly noticed any loss of suction from the Shop Vac, and absolutely NO drywall dust made it onto the HEPA filter. There was also NO dust inside the canister - the inside of the canister didn't have a single spec of dust after 3 solid hours of vacuuming! These bags stop the drywall dust in its tracks, I would estimate that 97-99% of the dust is filtered by the bag itself. One bag was enough to take care of the entire 2400 sq. ft. house (covered in drywall dust), without stressing the Shop Vac motor.

I now use these bags for everything, even general cleaning of dry debris, as the bags keep the Shop Vac filters in superb shape and are very easy to remove and toss in the trash once full. You can fill these bags to the brim without your Shop Vac losing suction power, and won't need to worry about changing your filter out every few weeks, even from messy jobs. The bags are expensive, but WORTH it. If you use your Shop Vac sporadically for general clean up of dry debris (sawdust, dirt, drywall dust, etc.), 1 bag should last you several months, and you'll save $$ in not having to replace your cartridge filters. 1 cartridge HEPA filter costs as much as 2 bags.
add a HEPA filter (the red one) and say goodbye to even the finest dust. I used one of these while finishing the inside of my garage with a Porter Cable drywall sanding machine (also unusually good). Didn't even have to move the cars out to sand the new walls! Very, very impressive.
I'm a chimney sweep and I have modified every vac I've owned to use these bags. I need a vac that moves more than 350 cubic feet a minute to control dust. Shop Vacs don't even move 200, so I've never owned a Shop Vac. However I also need to filter down to less than .4 microns. Every other bag I've tried failed, usually from split seams, because of the stress my vacs place on them. Not these bags! Also they don't plug up and cause lost suction before they're full like other bags do.

We have been using the Portor Cable vacuums for about 15 years as a drywall company. We started with the previous model 7810. The new 7812 is a vast improvement over the old one, excluding the bags. The old bags you could empty and reuse until they were wore out maybe 5 times. The glue to hold them together held well. The 7812 bags are glued with extremely weak glue. If you're not careful when installing them the flange will separate. The seam on the back of the bag often blows out while vacuuming. Even with extreme care dumping the bags is next to impossible without ruining the bag. I believe the new bags were engineered so you could not reuse them and they succeeded.
There isn't that much exciting stuff to say about vacuum bags, but these are well engineered and even have a nice little flap that seals the hole so dust doesn't escape after you take the bag out of the vacuum.

I highly recommend using bags with this vacuum as it allows you to suck up a lot more dust between emptying, and saves wear and tear on the HEPA filter.
These seem to last a long time and hold a lot of sawdust or drywall dust.
Price is right and they arrive in time but they seem to be ripping or coming apart at the seam very quickly. Bag will only be 1/4 filled and we have to change it.
Dust has not always been my enemy, but I got tired of it and decided to do something about it. I really dislike sanding dust, especially from dry-wall mud. I tried various shop vacs, wearing them out while wondering if the noise was better than the dust. Porter Cable to the rescue.

I bought their first shop vacuum when it came out perhaps 15 years ago. It is still going strong, although I can no longer buy parts (or bags) for it. That old model had a few design faults, as the plastic attachment holders would last for only a day or so, but mine is still running strong, and the filter is still working.

However, I needed to get a new model so I could buy bags. The old model works pretty well without bags for wood sanding dust and cleaning the shop, but dry-wall dust needs bags.

Porter-Cable 7812 10 Gallon 1-1/2 Horsepower Tool-Start Wet/Dry Vacuum

So Amazon to the rescue, as they had a great price on the new models of the Porter Cable vacuums. And now I get to use bags again. I buy them six at a time, and use them for all the dry dust I am picking up, not just dry-wall mud. The nasty stuff is easy to dispose of without making a mess. And I can convert from dry to wet and back to dry quickly when needed. The filter stays clean far longer, and since I am not handling the filter as much, it lasts longer.

So get a Porter Cable shop vacuum and buy the bags. The vacuum is quieter than most, there are two sizes, it turns on with your sander, there are great Porter Cable sanders that work with it, the end of the hose can be quickly changed to fit the tool dust port, and the attachment holders now work and don't easily break. Oh, and it does what vacuums should: pick up dust and keep it in the vacuum, not spew it back out into the air. It shows when the bag or container is full. It must be pretty hard to crush the hose, as I have not been able to do it.

The Fein vacuums are a little quieter, but there are other trade-offs. It is still a great vacuum company. Here is a link: Fein 9-55-13 Turbo II 9-1/2 Gallon 1-1/3 Horsepower Wet/Dry Vacuum with Auto-Start). I also strongly recommend them.
Bags provide good filtration, but when in use the main seams often open leaving dirt and debris in the vacuum. So far every bag in use has done this. From now on I will reinforce the seam with staples and/or duct tape.

I prefer this classic design to an electronic wind gauge for several reasons:

1) No batteries. My electronic unit eats batteries at an alarming rate. This one is always ready to go.

2) "Real Time" response. The little ball moves up and down with every slight change in wind speed. It gives me a much better sense of how the wind is gusting than with my electronic one.

3) Easy to read. This unit has big red numbers that are hard to miss. The LCD on the electronic one can be hard to read outside, especially with polarizing sunglasses.

4) Durable. With reasonable care, it should last forever. With the electronic unit, I have to be careful not to scratch the LCD or leave it out in the sun.

5) Easy to use. Can you lift your arm? No array of buttons to press, and no button to find to turn it off.

6) It looks cool! Everyone wants to see this "Classic" design and they always ask me where I found it.
