I've read different opinions on how long the unit will run on a full tank of water. For me, I need to fill it every night. 'Course it's very dry here in New Mexico and running the heat only makes it worse. The unit does a good job of putting out moisture.
Likes: I can have cold or warm mist. I like the mist "spout" that I can move to aim at different parts of the room. It's a bit pricey but it works. My throat doesn't get dry during the night. My skin is not as dry. I think it has also helped with my recovery from pneumonia.
Dislikes: It's kind of a pain to fill the reservoir. Why can't they put a cap on the TOP of the tank instead of the BOTTOM? Not a show stopper but it'd be easier to handle if I didn't have to flip it over after filling. Setting the desired humidity is a joke. Don't expect the unit to run based on the humidity level you set on the unit. From the reviews I've read, sounds like this is a standard complaint. I really don't care that it doesn't work perfectly. I go by "sight" on how much mist I want to come out of the unit. It only took a couple nights to get it set to "my" comfort level. I do get some white powder residue in the room. Not bad but it's there. We have hard water. I could use distilled but 3.5 gallons a day would get expensive and be a pain. I'll just wipe away the powder. The filter is supposed to prevent this... for me, it doesn't.
Do your research and buy what you need. There's a bunch of humidifiers out there. Determine why you need one and what options you want... it should narrow your choices down significantly. For me, I narrowed it down to the AOS 7135 and the Venta VS 207. Since Venta 207 has been discontinued, the AOS 7135 won.』
(This thing is so quiet!) 『This humidifier works extremely well. More than anything I wanted a quiet humidifier, and wow is it ever. It is easily worth the money for how silent it is. In order to hear it run, I would have to be standing right beside it, and even then it is very quiet. Our home is very open, so we did not want a loud machine as it would affect our dining room, kitchen, and living room.
We are using it for an area of about 500 square feet and it handles this are well. I should note that we haven't yet reached our coldest months where the house would usually be much more dry, but this machine seems very capable.』
(happy but a little unhappy) 『I really, really like the Air-O-Swiss humidifier. It has solved some of the problems that we were having with dry air. We only run it at night when we are sleeping and it seems to do an excelent job and it is also very, very quiet which was a big priority for husband. I must also say that the company that we delt with for the purcase was not a good experience and I hope that I never have to deal with them again. I think that maybe the unit was originally sent out to another customer and they did not return all of the parts that were suppose to be included with the shipment from the manufacturer in Switzerland. We never did get an instruction booklet on how to properly care for the machine and I had to download a copy off of the internet. So, the machine does all of the things that it is suppose to do and we are very happy with it, but the customer service leaves a lot to be desired.......』
(Very inconvientent and worthless) 『What is not said here on Amazon.com is that this must be put on a 3 feet stand, and then the nozzel must not be interferred with, unlike my others that can sit on the ground. In the end there is no place in our home that we can set it up, so for us it is absolutely worthless. Before buying make sure that you have an unimpeded place of 3 feet hight that you can set it on, that is not in the middle of your room, unless you want the staring piece of your room to the this humidifier. The enginerring on it, is not good.』
(Very disappointing - what a waste of money) 『I researched this humidifier extensively and it seemed to be one of the very best, many positive consumer ratings on numerous websites. I loved that it went to so much effort to achieve especially clean water output. And there were so many digital options that seemed great to have as well. But what good is any of that when it only worked well for a single year. I was a very diligent humidifier user too - cleaning it properly according to the manual, making sure to replace the things that need replacing. It was annoying to continuously have to take care of the machine, cleaning the inside compartment the best I could, and dishing out all the money for the expensive replacement parts that it needed for its normal 2-3 month maintenance issues. But I kept thinking at least its worthwhile - it works so well...Not for long! The second year the mist output was next to nothing, the dirty water sign was always flashing so I had to clean it every other day, and worst of all the circular "membrane" was so delicate that I accidentally damaged it in a routine cleaning - and as far as I know its not replaceable. (Although even if it was replaceable I refuse to spend one more penny on this money pit of a machine) I wish I had chosen a different brand altogether. Its very irritating that Air-O-Swiss passes themselves off as such high quality when their machines are just bound to break because they are so delicate and hard to clean effectively. It has a lot of power, other cordless vacs I've had in the past (including other Dirt Devils) have had limited suction and would die VERY quickly. I often use this one several times a day.
A previous reviewer stated that the flip out crevice tool is useless but I pretty much exclusively use the quick-flip nozzle because I've found it to provide superior suction. I mostly use it to pick up crumbs, but it's powerful enough to pick up pretty much anything that can fit through the flip nozzle. I haven't found the retractable brush tool very useful, perhaps the only exception is when dealing with dust but otherwise it gets in the way. I've never replaced the filter and it still seems to be working. I will occasionally do a quick clean of the filter, and you also have to clean out the flip nozzle occasionally if it gets gunky.
I only use it for quick jobs, so nothing more than 5 minutes...but really if you need it for cleaning longer than 5-10 minutes at a time then you should probably be using a plug in vacuum instead. I also wouldn't recommend it for cleaning inside your car, unless it's something that can be done quickly. I keep it stored in the charger base so it's always ready to go (make sure the light goes on when you place it in the charger or else it won't charge.) It will start to slow down after awhile of continuous use (or if you forget to lock it in place in the charger) but for the most part it seems to hold it's power for long enough to get the job done well. Bottom line for $40 this is a great vacuum with a lot of power.』

I had a B&D model that was great at first, but died at around 16 mos old. So draw your OWN opinion based on what you need it FOR!!
I've had one of these for over THREE YEARS, and use it on a daily basis (granted, only a min or 2 at a time) and it has =never= missed a beat! Not even once!!! The battery also seems STRONG&never causes the motor to labor or run slow! Maybe that's because the vac is =constantly= stored in the charging unit!
All I did was read the 1&2 star reviews and I could see a perfect example of the 'typical' "2009 United States resident" [sad FACT]. I'm surprised I saw no one complaining that this item couldn't ''read their mind'' and *automaticlly* "Go-Use-Itself-Where-They-Wanted-It-Used-And-Then-Hang-Itself-Back-Up-And-Don't-Bother-Me"!!!
And for these people who complain that the vac falls off the charging unit -- I suggest they find a friend or relative or contractor who knows what a ''Level'' is and how to use&read it properly, then check the same mounting surface (wall, etc) that they have the charging unit mounted on for being PLUMB!! That person had better "KNOW" what *plumb* means!! If not, ask Someone-ELSE and don't listen to all their excuses =trying to _cover-up_ their ignorance=, like "it depends on what we're talking about". I've heard it ALL!!!!
The point is maybe the soil that your home's foundation is built on - has 'settled' over the years. So when the house was -Originally- BUILT Brand New, the foundation was "Level" and every wall inside WAS "Plumb", but if the soil underneath the foundation has settled over time, the OPPOSITE is now ((SADLY)) True! Warning signs 'could' be water that does not easily run off patios or sidewalks, but it USED-TO! Also inside doors that swing open or closed All-By-Themselves! I was ready for cosmetic flaws...I mean who really cares if there is a scrape on their floor cleaner? What I was not ready for, was a unit that just looked like it was thrown in the box and had not been refurbished AT ALL. My main complaint is that the brush heads that were supplied looked like they had been cleaning someones driveway. I've used better looking brush heads on my car wheels. The bottom retension bracket for the power cord was also broken off and was loose in the box...nice work Hoover.
"Remanufactered: to refurbish (a used product) by renovating and reassembling its components", that is the definition and I feel that Hoover should have never let one of their reman products ship out without NEW brush heads. The brush head is a critical wear item it and it is ludicrous to sell this floor cleaner with the same brush it was returned with.
All that said, I give it two stars because it does work and I would buy one again...BUT ONLY NEW. Now I have to waste time trying to glue broken pieces and find a replacement brush head.』
(Tile flooring? Your life may change with this machine!) 『I purchased one of these from another reseller who only sells one item a day for the same price as here a couple of months ago. Had owned a previous model that died a rather early death but loved how it worked.
This newer model is much better made, easy to use and clean. I have a large area of the house with ceramic tile and 1/2 inch grout. This machine handles it with ease. It not only vacuums the floors but then readily washes them even down into the grout while picking up the dirty water. You'll be amazed with just how much dirt it picks up. The scrubbing brushes and other parts are easy to take apart for clean up and it only takes a moment to do so.
One of the things I like best is the fact that this machine, because of the size of the scrubbing head, will fit right under your cabinet edges to clean that hard to reach area. Many question if they have to use the Hoover floor cleaning product exclusively and through some internet research I've found that Mr Clean works great in this machine. Their new Febreeze scented cleaner does a great job while leaving a not overwhelming scent in the house.
My Scooba has been relegated to small area clean ups.

Now it looks like new and no scrubbing on my part. After sucking up the scrubbing water with it's vacuum I did use plan water and a sponge mop to rinse the floor so it wouldn't be sticky. (Terrible vacuum) 『This machine is very difficult to use. It is heavy with large stiff wheels. If you loosen a wheel as per other reviews, it will then fall off continuously. The screw is not a slotted or Phillips, but some sort of weird hexagonal which is hard to adjust unless you have special tools. The machine is a bear to work with. The suction is great, as everyone mentions, but you can't get it where you want without much labor. I went back to my old Dirt Devil after 2 weeks of wrestling with this pig. (Electrolux Intensity) 『I read all of the reviews prior to the purchase of the Intensity, some were negative. The cord is shorter than some cleaners but I don't consider it a negative. My house is 1800 sq ft and I have vaccuumed it at least five times without having to change the bag. I was concerned that it was not picking up like my Fantom canaster bagless cleaner(which I love) but after I vaccuumed with the the Electrolux, I then went over the same areas with my Fantom and there wasn't anything left to pick up. Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (If you think you've tried them all -- you haven't tried this one..) 『First of all, I just wanted to say that I purchased this Air Purifier from GoVacuum locally (which offers top notch customer service). I was unsure about purchasing it due to the high price, but due to the large amounts of research I conducted and my previous experience with air purifiers, I decided to go with this unit. I've tried MANY MANY different air purifiers over the years (Honeywells, Orecks, Blueairs), and for various reasons, this one stands out.
1) Many of the other air purifiers require that you change the filter every 6 to 12 months. The HEPA filter in this one lasts years. Amazingly enough, it's purified the air in my room better than all of the other purifiers have after I've used them for a week.
2) Forget those electrostatic purifiers that say you can just wash them in the dishwasher. I owned an Oreck for about a year. During that time, I had to take it in for service about 4 times due to the fact that it was emitting strange smells and the motor sounded like it was grinding. Additionally, when I stuck the electrostatic filter in the dishwasher it would clean it, but the performance degraded after every wash.
3) Sure, it's bigger than the other air purifiers, but if you place it properly, you'll get great results. Originally, I just placed it near a wall located in the room centrally. That didn't seem to work as well as I had hoped, so I placed it closer to the air register in the room. HUGE difference. If you place it with the 1 foot clearance catercorner to the wall near a register as suggested, it will clean the air as advertised.
4) I've got severe allergies to pollen, pet dander, and dust. Someone else noted that the nurses at the allergists stared at their bumps as the allergy tests were conducted. I had the same problems. Fortunately, this seems to be the purifier that cures my symptoms.
5) Folks seem to complain about the noise. I live in a small room (9ft x 10ft) and I can sleep comfortably with the fan on the 4 setting even though I am a light sleeper.
6) Like most other folks, I agree that it's expensive. However, if you have severe allergies and you're sick of wasting money on other lackluster air purifiers, look no further, the IQ Air HealthPros will solve your problems.
I don't write many reviews on here (In fact, this is my first one), but I have been astonished and inspired by the performance of this product. I hope that all the other folks on here that suffer from severe allergies can find relief with this air purifier as I have.』
(HIGHLY SATISFIED - WORTH THE PRICE) 『After 1 month of use, this unit earns my highest recommendation. I researched air purifiers for about a week before buying two IQAir units, one with the odor filter (Pro-Plus), and one without (Pro) to help with allergies and asthma symptoms that my family suffers from. Both of them work absolutely perfectly, with significant symptom relief within the first week of use. The packaging was very secure, with each unit contained in double boxes similar to what you find with high-end stereo equipment, including thick styrofoam inserts for cushioning. The unpacked units were sparkling new and clean, with an inspection page that detailed the performance at each of the five individual speeds. The manual was nicely organized and easy to comprehend.
These are sturdy units that are somewhat heavy, but come with a convenient handle recessed on the top, as well as caster wheels to roll the unit if you need to move it periodically. The manual recommends clearance of at least 12 inches on all sides for optimal performance, so keep this in mind for placement in your room. It is noisy at the highest setting, but works very effectively at quieter settings 2 or 3 in my 13' x 16' room. I also use an IQAir unit in a 20 x 20 room, and it cleans the air very well at setting 3. My son noticed so much improvement in his allergies and breathing after just two days of use, that when I moved the unit to another room for a night, he begged me to return it to his bedroom. We went on vacation for a few days, and he said that he could not wait to get back home because he missed the IQAir purifier.
If you are comparing the units with and without the odor filter, even the one without the odor filter leaves the air smelling fresh and clean. In fact, for the first week, the one with the odor filter had a bit of a peculiar smell to it, which might have been coming from the odor filter itself. Unless you have a really significant odor problem, you can save the extra $100 that you pay for the "Pro-Plus" over the "Pro" model. The units look identical from the outside, and you can order a retrofit assembly from the IQAir if you later want to convert your "Pro" to "Pro Plus." Each unit has a remote that is slightly larger than a credit card, which is very convenient if I want to change the setting after I get into bed.
In summary, these IQAirs are well worth the price, which isn't as much as it seems after you factor in the yearly filter replacement cost, which is lower than most other brands. I wish that I had discovered IQAir years ago, before wasting my money on other air purifiers. I am so impressed that I am about to order a third IQAir to use in my office. I have previously owned the following air purifiers, none of which came anywhere close to my IQAir units: Oreck XL Air8D, Oreck XL 4000, Holmes (various sizes), Honeywell (the largest big round one), Sharper Image (Ionic Breeze). I hated cleaning the Oreck units, which were overpriced, and their replacement filters were also very expensive on a yearly basis. The Orecks also left a lot of dust all around them. The motor burned out on my large Oreck unit just after the two year warranty expired. The Honeywell filter was also very expensive, and the unit was extremely noisy. The Holmes units were ok for very small rooms, but had to be on the noisiest high setting to notice any air cleaning, had flimsy construction, and required frequent filter changes. The Sharper Image units were basically useless, as they did not improve the air quality or our allergy symptoms; they went back to the store after three weeks. 』
(No more coughing in the mornings) 『Every morning I would wake up coughing up something. I tried sleeping at two different houses and I would still wake up coughing. After using this for one night the coughing decreased the next day. By the end of the first week I would wake up without coughing. I was skeptical after my previous air purifier seemed to make matters worse but after one month I love it.
I've also used the fan timer as an alarm in the morning incase I hit the snooze button to many times. So if your half asleep and the fan kicks on at level six it will catch your attention. But it is not loud too loud to wake me from a dead sleep.』

After much consideration (mostly due to the price) and research, I decided to purchase one for my apartment. I was not disappointed. (I'll buy another) 『I bought this unit thinking about design as well as the way it works. I didn't want white dust and this was a perfect size for a bedroom. Its simplistic design and filling is the best part. Just fill it from the top, it has a orange indicator ring when full and the small inner dome drops inside when empty. The unit always keeps the wick wet by floating on the water inside, unless you let it run dry. It is pretty quiet on low and is noticeable on high but not that bad. You can't see the water come out as it is evaporation (not ultrasonic type) from the wick and blown out the outer ring on top (not the bottom), but it does work well and I no longer wake up with a dry mouth/nose. Well I cant give it a five star as yet. I haven't priced the wicks and I've only had it for a month, but I'm going to buy one for my living room. (Not as bad as others think) 『I've owned and operated another AOS product for many years. I was recently in the market for a new humidifier/evaporator, so I visited the best retail store(accepts all coupons and has great return policy) with the best AOS selection around-Bed, Bath and Beyond. The egg shaped AOS unit looks certainly appealed to me, as well as the price. So here are my thoughts: Design: Excellent. Red DOT Award Winner. Light,sleek and user friendly
Quality: NOT MADE IN CHINA. The unit is made in Switzerland. I think the only itmes exported to the US from Switzerland these days are watches, humidifiers, gourmet chocolate and cookies.
Use: The only humidifier I know of that you can fill like a flower pot. It is so simple to use. The finger slider switch at the front has only three modes for simple adjustment.
Noise: Level 1 is quiet. Level 2 is slightly louder without doubt, but nothing to really complain about, although, if used in a bedroom the sound my be too loud. I use the unit in a living room adjacent to a television and the noise is just background white noise to me.
Cleaning: Take your time and read the directions and you'll be fine. After the first time, "you'll be able to do it in your sleep". Use the EZCAL descaler(cleaning accessory) to help avoid buildup of minerals in the base. Dust and dirt does build up in the evaporator wick(replacement accessory), but dirt in the wick is better than dirt in your lungs. If you maintain the unit as instructed, it will run well forever.
Performance: In Colorado, it is very dry, so this little machine must be on 24/7. It probably will work best in smaller rooms. The specs from AOS will give you an idea of the ideal size room for use. MY unit sits on a hardwood floor without any warping or damage. 』
(Neither quiet not powerful enough...) 『I have one small room that I use the evaporator in, it's probably about 25 or 30 sq.f. The evaporator does absolutely nothing when it's on low, when it's on high it works a little, but not noticeable (and I've had other A.O.S. models so I can compare). When it's on high, really not quiet at all. The hum is enough to keep me up, in fact. The wick gets bad really fast, starts smelling like mold and does nothing. Very easy to tip over because the base is not very stable. It's all very well that it looks like a cute little turbine but that really doesn't matter when the "cool" design sacrifices stability and other features. The silver ion stick is hidden in the base so I barely found it. Filling it is easier, that's true, but really that's as far as "good" comments go.
I wouldn't spend money on something like this again. For $170 canadian, it's ridiculously overpriced and pointless. Buy a good cool mist humidifier and treat it right, this is just a waste of time and money.』
(Not so quite unit) 『My main desire in a humidifier, which I keep changing once a year, is how quite and durable the product is. I bought the unit at Bed Bath and Beyond for $139.99 + Tax. Its a great looking humidifier but has three significant flaws for which I am returning the unit.
1. It is advertised as "whisper quite", which the fan maybe, but the humidifier makes a distracting humming noise that comes from the motor - on the "normal" setting this unit is too loud for the bedroom if you are noise sensitive like me - on the "night" setting the humming noise is still there and can be distracting
2. I noticed a light moisture buildup beneath and around the humidifier after running it for a few days, this caused my hardwood floor to wrinkle a little, I would not recommend keeping it on or near water sensitive areas
3. My 400 sqft bedroom felt very dry when running this unit in "night" mode, I could not run it in the bedroom in "normal" mode because of the noise
For this prince and simple fan + filter mechanism I would expect it to be quite and safe on the floor, or at least have proper warning labels. I would say you would paying mostly for the look and easy to refill (watering plant style) top.

(Dust buster plus) 『I got one of shop-vacs new 6.5 Hp vacs with detachable blower for Christmas and it rocks! It has power to spare for suction and the blower with the reducer tip almost feels as it could lift it's self if you where to let go (that's a lot of volume AND velocity for an electric blower). I found them to be a good deal and got their smallest one at the local Lowes (the 2.5 gallon, 2hp). It has lots of suction (for it's size) like the big one. While I was there I found this accessory set and got it for kicks. It works well, obviously it's suction is limited buy the opening... The brushes seem to be flexible yet stiff enough to remove set in dust but not damage delicate things (circuit boards for example) and the tips are about the right size for most small areas (inside the catch basin on my drill doc for another example).
I like the reducer tip the most, I have used it several times to blow off my hair and clothing after sawing on something. It doesn't exactly turn your vac into an air gun, but it will clear a table and get bits of saw dust out of your hair.』

(Wheels? you don't need them!) 『Ok folks, I decided to do a review BECAUSE of some of you saying "I wish it had wheels".
You simply do not need them! This vacuum has a very slick bottom surface with curvature much like a boat. You can drag this thing all over your house with little to no resistance - whether it's on carpet, linoleum, wood, or tile. Of course you'll scratch up the bottom if you drag it on concrete, but this vacuum isn't designed for tough duty outside jobs.
I've used this vacuum for over 6 months and I vacuum my entire house with it. I am totally satisfied. I originally bought it as a temporary substitute while shopping for "normal" house vacuums. However, due to all the bad ratings, I gave up on my search. That's fine because I'm happy with this little sucker. (I also have a 14 gallon wet-vac for the garage)
So really folks, you truly don't need any wheels. Besides, all they'll do is get hung up on corners when you pull it around the house or make this vacuum tip over easily by changing it's center of gravity.
As a last note, I agree with some that the tool holding capability is lacking. The wall bracket is nice but they could have done a much better job with tool accommodations. I can deal with this oversight. Overall, I find this to be a very handy tool at a reasonable price.

Overall the product does what it says, but it is clumsy, slow, messy, and small.
The unit doesn't hold more and 6 quarts of oil, which doesn't help me with my truck, and can get messy when you try to move the oil out of this container. The product doesn't have some of the minor details which would greatly improve its over all function, such as a lip to prevent oil drip, or a stable handle used when you're pumping/vacuuming the air out.
I would recommend the Mityvac product line, their design not only does the job but makes oil transfer easy.
So unless you get this product for free there are other products which can do the job better for the same price. 』

(This filter solves my problem.) 『This product has solved a big problem for me.
