Then I got this ad from Amazon with this vacuum listed, strange, how did they know I needed another one? Anyway, I like this one for the doing the stair cases more than the dirt devil. The Eureka has a door on the front that flips down and lets you vacuum the riser of the stair without all the gymnastics that I had to do with the other one. The crevice tool has a separate spot in the back for it, it is not stored in the hose reducing suction like the dirt devil did. I also like the canister you can empty, instead of a bag. It was always a pain to empty the dirt devil and you never knew when it was full; let alone find replacement bags for it.』

It is a little heavy, but I was prepared for that, and I would much rather deal with an extra couple of pounds of weight than buy a smaller vac with less suction (I wouldn't buy it for an elderly person, but the weight shouldn't be an issue for most people). I am not bothered by the noise level: I've had vacuums that are louder, and this one seems to be in a pretty normal range to me (it IS louder than a Dust Buster, but it also works a lot harder than the Dust Buster). Overall, I am very satisfied with this vacuum, and after shopping around and trying out different products, I am happy that I wound up with this one, considering the flaws and performance of the others I tried. Perhaps if one person held the vac in place and another person pulled with all his/her might and stretched the hose as far as it could possibly go, at the moment just before the hose split from the strain, it might have reached 2.5 times the original length. Of course, no one will ever do that. The hose is just not stretchy enough to extend into all the spaces you need it to go. 2. Since the hose is not long enough, one wishes that the shape of the vac were a little less bulky and awkward. It is difficult to fit it into small spaces. Of course none of the attachments from my old handheld vac fit this one, so I'm going to try to buy the Eureka attachments to make up for these deficiencies. As I say, knowing this would probably have prevented my buying this vac, but I haven't found a better one in this price range, so I am quite happy overall.』

(Good suction but very tiny opening) 『1. Suction on this is very good. It had no problem pickin up pet hair from our microfiber couches. These usually hold the hair like velcro and this was able to get it off no problem.
2. Although the suction was good, the width of the opening is ridiculously small for this type of job. It is a great nook and cranny dustbuster but for stairs or furniture you are going to be doing a LOT of back and forth.
3. After the first charge of 21 hours the suction lasted for about 10 minutes before dropping off noticeably. I cleaned the filter after that and re-gained a small amount of suction for about 60 seconds before it dropped off again. I am familiar with rechargeable batteries and understand that they need to cycle a few times before they reach their peak but I'm doubting this will ever go more than 20 minutes before loosing significant suction. That wouldn't be bad if the aforementioned width of the intake wasn't an issue.
4. It is a bit heavier than some of the older dustbusters I've used but that is probably a result of the increase in battery/motor size.
5. Filter cleaning isn't really THAT easy. Unless you are sucking up hard plastic items or jellybeans you are going to have to remove the paper filter and clear it of dust and debris by hand.
Overall a good product but not suited well to my particular task of cleaning up pet hair daily.』

(Awesome machine, I'm glad I made a really good choice!) 『I recently decided to learn sewing, so I came to Amazon, did some research on machines and after looking at quite a few, I decided this one appeared to be what I needed. It struck me as a machine that would be good for a beginner, but also have all the features I would need once I was at intermediate or advanced levels so I wouldn't need to get another one for a while. I also wanted something at a mid-price range, not one of the really cheap ones below $100, but also not in the 300-500 dollar range.
Since I had never tried sewing with a machine before in my life, I signed up for a few sewing classes at Joann's and had my first class last Saturday. It was great that they let you bring your own machine to the class, since I didn't even know how to put the thread through the machine. Once I got there, there was another lady who had bought her machine the day before and she was going on and on about how much research she had made and how great her machine was. But, as the class proceeded, it became clear that lots of thing my machine did automatically, such as putting the thread through the needle, sewing backwards, raising the needle, etc., had to be done manually with her machine. Even changing the needle and little foot by the needle were incredibly easy tasks to do with my machine and she seemed to struggle with hers. By the end of the class, I was really happy I had chosen this maching. Having someone else with another machine helped me realize how much easier mine was to operate and set up.
At the next class, which was today and with another teacher, I was told by the teacher that I had a really good and nice to work with machine.
So, here are my thoughts:
PROS
- light-weight and easy to carry around - comes with a hard cover included - needles included are German-made and of great quality - comes with all the accessories you need for quilting, etc. - incredibly easy to set up, thread (there's actually a drawing of how the thread is supposed to go around the machine, all you have to do is follow it, really dummy-proof!), change accessories, etc; easy to operate in general. - really nice and large selection of different stiches, about 60 of them - beginner friendly - has all the features an advanced user needs (the only thing it doesn't do is embroidery). I don't believe I will need another machine until this one breaks.
CONS
- I haven't run into any yet! :)

This mean i will still watch it with great enjoyment even at the age of 23. My neices and nephews also love watching it with me. The one thing that made this movie so epic for me, was the score. Even as a little girl i thought the score (not including the songs) was very intense, and strong and it alsmost seemed like it was made for a live action adult movie. David Newman has come from amazing stock! he's the son of Alfred Newman ("The Greatest Story Ever Told"), he's the brother of Thomas Newman ("Finding Nemo" and "American Beauty") and he's the couisn of Randy Newman ("Toy Story" and "Monsters, Inc.") and all these relative have a score that tell amazing stories and not just go well with the movie. i began my search for this score in high school where i encountered it as "unavaiable" and as the expensive "collectable". i vowed that i would scrimp and save until i could have it. i would regularly check up on it to make sure i wouldn't lose this potential prize. Well, i am very proud to say, that I'm the Collector of Childhood Films and Movie Soundtracks (80's and 90's Division) that got this copy of "The Brave Little Toaster" for only 20$!! This was the most perfect splurge i've ever made and it will be well loved amongst my collection! ^_^』
(A Great Soundtrack For a Great Movie!) 『This is probably one of the most complete scores you will ever find for an item, and the songs are all well-written and unique from each other. I will review a few specific tracks:
1. Main Title-The Brave Little Toaster has one of the creepiest intros, panning through the dark woods to find an empty cabin full of seemingly lifeless appliences. This haunting track works very well with it.
3. Blanket's Dream-I'm not keen on them leaving in the dialogue here, as you don't get the whole fantasy scene unless you've seen it. Still, Lampy and Radio's amusing lines are here, which is good.
4. The Air Conditioner Blows-For anyone who was terrified of this scene as a kid, this frantic track does the whole thing justice, with a grim ending.
6. Again, the dialogue and sound effects are left in, but they actually help the humor in this track. Lampy's voice is awsome.
8. City of Light-This is my favorite of all the songs. It's a bright and optimistic ballad-ish song when the appliences set out. They're all good singers, even though Lampy speaks a few of his lines. Very catchy.
10. The Pond-This one has to be heard to be believed. It's sound effects of the pond create lovely music, and the highlight is the opera singing fish (don't ask).
11. Toaster's Dream-I just have to say, this is a really scary track to accompany the scene that probably scared me the most when I was younger. That clown...
19. It's a 'B' Movie-This is a spooky number, and will remind you of Rocky Horror Picture Show. Preformed by the junkshop appliences (and a bit by the core group), it's the first showstopper.
22. Into the City-A Beautiful instrumental version of City of Light.
23. Cutting Edge-A techno number sung by the mean appliences that replaced the old ones. It has great lyrics and sounds just like some commercials from that era.
25. Worthless-A disco style song belted out by the poor cars at the junkyard before they all meet their "deaths" at a trash compactor. Catchy and sad at the same time, and a favorite of many.
26. Finale-A seven minute long song. Ranges from hopeful to frantic to a happy ending.
27. End Title-A very happy song to end the soundtrack.

All those worthless wall mount power stations are usually placed in the garage out of sight. So, this vac stays where it belongs and where I use it.

(Cleaning Was Never So Much Fun) 『This is my first steamer, so I didn't know what to expect. It's been two weeks now and overall I think it's a good value. It's fabulous for cleaning any corners, small cracks and intricate items like around faucets, refrigerator handles and the coil behind the refrigerator. It did a really good job on the impossible to clean area under the front of the refrigerator that had caked-on dust and dried spills covering all the metal brackets, wires, tubes and wheels. But best of all - the toilet, especially the hinges for the toilet seat, and the seam where the toilet meets the floor, and anywhere behind the toilet - you get the idea.
The combination of the heat and the powerful blast of the steam acts to soften the dirt and then force it out to where you just wipe it up. You get a nice, really clean surface. Some items haven't been this clean since they were new. Some even look like new.
Do yourself a very big favor and get a whole bunch of microfiber cloths for wiping and drying. Sometimes, for stubborn old dirt, first spray a little Fantastic cleaner, then use the steamer and wipe with the microfiber cloths. This makes a super dynamite cleaning combination. You can also use your own microfiber cloths with the floor attachment.
The steam leaves a clean smell and I don't have to worry about breathing any of it. It's good that most of the steam ends up in the air, so that there is not a lot of residual water that needs to be cleaned up. After not spraying for a while, some steam in the hose condenses back to a little bit of water, so then I usually spray for a second or two into the sink or a cloth to clear the water.
There is some confusion about the so-called ready light. Just know that it's a small light that turns on whenever the water heater is on. So when the light turns off, it means that the heater has reached the high temperature shutoff point. I notice a slight increase in the steam pressure just after the heater light turns off because this is when the water is the hottest. But the steam pressure is very good all the time, even if you have a long steaming session. The heater light automatically turns on and off while you steam, and you don't even notice it. I usually steam, then wipe, steam, then wipe, and never have to wait for more steam.
There is also some confusion regarding the steam temperature. I was surprised that this big cloud of steam is actually not too hot to your hand, even as close as 3 or 4 inches from the tip. I think it's because the steam quickly cools itself by the evaporative process. This is good because you really don't need to worry so much about burning your hand, like when you are holding an object in one hand and spraying steam with the other. But don't be fooled. The temperature right at the tip is hot. I measured about 170 to 180 degrees right where the steam comes out. Most home water heaters are set for only about 120 to 140 degrees. If you steam a small metal object (that conducts heat), it will quickly become too hot to handle. I've accidentally peeled a little spot of latex paint off a door because I held it on the same spot a little too long. I always use rubber gloves and have had no problem with handling the steam.
Regarding the noise, firstly, the unit makes no sound at all when you are not spraying steam. When it sprays steam, the noise comes from the tip where the steam comes out. I can understand that many people say it is loud. To me, it means that this is a pretty powerful spray of steam. After I do steaming for an hour or two, without earplugs, then my ears feel a little bit like I've attended a rock concert, especially if I were steaming a bathroom or inside the refrigerator, which magnifies the sound. Now, I always wear ear plugs.
The unit has a carrying handle, but no caddy for the attachments, cord and hose - not a big problem for me. I use only distilled water, as they suggest, so the tank doesn't become clogged with mineral deposits. I put in two or three of their measuring cups with their little funnel and it lasts a good long time, like you wonder why the steam hasn't run out yet. I always keep an extra couple of gallons of water on hand because I have a tendency to keep cleaning more stuff once I get started. The steam keeps going strong until the tank is totally empty, and then it suddenly stops. Refilling is pretty quick and easy, but first hold the sprayer open to release any remaining pressure. You only need to tighten the filler cap with light fingertip pressure. It takes a few minutes (2 to 5 minutes depending on how much water you add) for the water to reheat and then you can steam for another long time.
One of the few things it doesn't do so well is the hard baked-on food like inside the oven or the stove top. Also, when I was steaming the metal handles on dark wood kitchen cabinets, I noticed the wood starting to take on a light, cloudy haze. It seemed ok after rewaxing, but you need to be careful around wood furniture or cabinets.
I've read some complaints about the small brush tips wearing out too quickly. I think this might be because people are mashing down too hard on the tip. The idea is to try to let the steam do the work and brush with only moderate pressure. Sometimes I use a toothpick to loosen stubborn dirt in small areas, and then go back with the steamer. I think the tips are holding up ok.
One precaution I take is to avoid pulling the tank by the hose because I think this could break the hose which does not seem to be repairable. 』

Sadly, it appears that I was a tad too hasty in my assumptions. For one, let me just start off by stating that the features the Connectland USB Mini Vacuum harness are fairly neat for the most part. It contains a retractable USB cablewheel, retractable brush, led-light mechanic (to help easier locate dust on the keyboard/notebook) and turbo mode switch (for higher vacuum efficiency). The problem here is that all of these gadgets are pretty much wasted on a useless vacuum (the core for using the entire thing).
The vacuum hardly picks up any dust at all. Even in turbo-mode (which you must have it's button pressed down the entire time during use) the vacuum appeared to excrete more air than it should have absorbed dust. I actually experimented the vacuum on a tiny strand of hair (on a flat surface) and it could hardly even pick it up. When the retractable brush is doing a more robust job of removing dust from the keyboard than the actual vacuum itself, then you know there are definitely some issues.
In summation, the Connectland USB Mini Vacuum could have been an instant recommendation at it's price (with it's nifty features). However, since it's vacuum hardly picks up any dust at all, I'd suggest skipping over this one and simply invest in a keyboard air-cleaner instead (or continue searching for a better mini vacuum). Winter always is dry where I live and this year I havent woken up with a head ache from it being so dry. The unit is very quiet, only the fan on the bottom makes a hum, and at half fan setting a tank of water lasts all night and most of the day. Seemed to be some confusion in some of the other reviews as to what the double dials are for so Ill elaborate. Bottom dial controls the fan and how much vapor is blown out of the unit. The top dial controls how humid the unit makes the room. It senses when the room has reached that humidity and cuts the vaporizer. The other day with the door closed to the room I noticed that the unit was on but nothing was coming out and I turned the top dial and it kicked back in again so it does work. If you're thinking of buying a humidifier, this is your one.』

My only complaint is that it cannot clean my grout. The people who lived in my house before me had put in white grout. It is such a pain to constantly bleach it. Unfortunately, I am going to have to rip out all the white grout and put in a darker color because with three children and 3 pets, the grout does not stay clean and I do not like getting down on my hands and knees everyday to bleach the mess out.

(Great HOUSEHOLD steamer) 『researched for weeks online and in stores for a steam mop, as most of my house is wood or tile. I could not be happier with my purchase. Here are the reasons why i finally chose the Euroflex Monster:

It has been great at cleaning well and quickly. It really does wipe away grime... even grime that's been there for a while. The pads are machine washable and come out clean every time. Be sure to use distilled water so that you don't get any build up in the chamber (that goes for all steam mops). You can easily place it back on. I assume this would make it easy to break down if you wanted to store it. 2. It comes with a bag of little Styrofoam balls. I think these are for throwing on the floor and vacuuming up. However, they stick to everything and fly everywhere. If you don't want a mess, you should probably leave them in the bag and hide it. 3. The spray bottle, sponge, bucket and mop are a tempting fare for little ones who want to clean just like mom or dad. Even though I warned my kids, "pretend toys use pretend water," we had real water cleaning going on in no time. If you don't want the kids mopping the carpet, you might want to keep an eye on them.
Other than those minor issues, I think it's a great toy. I think I'm going to video tape the girls and use it for blackmail when they are 16.』

(A Bunch of Opinions from one vendor) 『Gerald Weber is apparently an ex-meat distributor who ,without any formal electronics training or background, decided to go into the guitar amplifier business one fine afternoon. His flagship product seems to be a warts-and-all clone of the old"Liz Taylor"(4-10sky...a better joke in 1988 when he started this endeavor)Fender Bassman tweed amplifier. This is one of two volumes of his opinions and"tricks"regarding his ideas of what a guitar amplifier ought to sound like.
The plus side is that he knows what he wants, he has a rudimentary knowledge of electronics, and by dogged experimentation he has arrived at what he, and some other people, like.
The minus is that he realy isn't sure how he got there-he thinks he is, which is slightly dangerous-and little he says will help you if you want to go somewhere else. And, having learned the tricks of the trade but not really the trade,there's a lot of stuff here that's either questionable or outright wrong (such as his famous objection to DC filament supplies, which would make any broadcast engineer familiar with high power tubes chuckle in total disbelief).
But if you are either reading just for entertainment, or already have a reasonable grasp of electronics and want"Texas Tone Del Maximo"( a guitar sound some people love and others, myself included, would pay not to have to listen to), here you go.』

He gives a couple of mods that I tried on my Fender Bassman. Some of the mods are good, but I spent several days trying to undo one of his. I quote"that 470K ohm interstage feedback resistor should be removed."Well not according to my ears, I ended up changing to a 220K and this worked well. It was as if he gives you a bit of information, and lets you figure out the rest, good for learning I suppose. Quote:"I would recommend changing the wiring of a Bassman AB165 to match the schematic of the AA864."He says remove this, add that, but there is often more to it than he tells you. I realized if he says do this, or that, it might not be in your best interest. My problem, I did all of his bassman mods and then tried to figure out why my amp now sounded bad. He get's into specifics about certain amps and the question area at the end of the book has good information, although some of the things he says are redundant. I do like the book as a reference, but you must realize it is Gerald Weber's opinion, there are others out there. A knowledgeable vacuum tube electrical engineer would probably be chuckling after reading this book. I can not say that I understood all the concepts then, but for some reason whenever I had returned the book to the library there was something I had to look up, so I bought the third edition.
There are not very many good tube books out there, you can believe me because I have read everything from the 1956 RCA tube manual to most of the modern books on the subject. This book is not perfect. It has the tendency to hide a lot of information in the text instead of making a clear presentation from point A to point B. It assumes that you have read all the preceding chapters and have them fresh in your head because there are explanations on things in chapter 13 that is based on stuff in chapter 3 with no references what so ever.
That said, I think this is probably the best place to start. It has lots of information that is relatively easy to grasp.
If you are more interested in guitar amplifiers, then I would not recommend you to start with this book. It has all the basic information you need to design a guitar amplifier, so it is not bad reading, but I would recommend you to buy "The Ultimate Tone" series (probably start with volume 3)by Kevin O`Connor instead. Because it explains more of the guitar concepts, such as how to make distortion sound good.
If you want to design tube amplifiers I recommend this book. Even though I have many tube books this is the one I always come back to when I want to look something up.』
(Worthwhile Text but Beware of the Technical Pitfalls) 『Overall, this is an excellent introduction to the subject material. The author covers some basic electronics topics and gives a very down to earth discussion of various amplifier stages and the pertinent characteristics of their operation. For the do-it-yourself amp builder this is a great introduction. The text is full of practical advice and pointers to help the reader achieve a successful design.
However, this is a practical text aimed at the hobbyist or electronic tinkerer. Do not go looking for in depth theory or detailed mathematical analysis here, you won't find it. The electronic hobbyist will find a wealth of practical information but a trained electrical engineer risks being put off by the lack of in depth analysis and numerous broad assumptions made while discussing design. Some chapters are much better then others. It is much more informative to address them separately.
The first chapter is a basic introduction to electronic principles for both passive and simple active devices. This is probably a good refresher for the hobbyist or tinkerer, but anyone trained in electronics or electrical engineering can safely skip the first chapter. Chapter two gives a very good discussion of the basic building blocks of tube circuits. This is arguably the best chapter in the book. The content of this chapter alone is worth the price of the text. Chapter three is a discussion of distortion in tube amplifiers. This chapter contains lots of practical information, but little detailed theory. This is good information for the hobbyist but the engineer will find the lack of rigorous analysis frustrating. Chapter four covers components. The chapter covers some basic information on various types of the different passive components and a very interesting discussion of tube construction. If you're new to vacuum tube technology the latter half of this chapter is a must read. Chapter five is a discussion of power supplies. The best advice I can give on this chapter is don't read it. The author clearly has made many measurements and done much experimenting. However, the conclusions he draws tend to be very misleading. The problem with this chapter is that the hobbyist will be mislead into bad design decisions and the trained electrical engineer will be frustrated with the conclusions drawn. I have been shocked by the incredible number of truly abhorrent power supply designs floating around the internet. Chapter five of this book explains where some of the ideas for these supplies have come. There are much better texts discussing power supply design for tube circuits. For a good practical guide to power supply design, try Chapter 14 of "Theory and Applications of Electron Tubes", by Herbert Reich. Chapter six is a discussion of amplifier power stages. The text covers the basics of single ended and push pull operation and then goes on to discuss several different designs. This chapter contains lots of good practical information. Be warned however, the author is clearly of the "push-pull" camp and if you tend to favor the "single ended" designs, prepared to be insulted. The book finishes up with a chapter on preamplifiers and line stages. Included here are some good discussion on RIAA equalization. If your interest goes beyond the power amp to the entire audio chain, this chapter is very informative.
Even as a career electrical engineer I gained significant information and insight by reading this book. It refreshed my knowledge of tube circuits and if I had this book when I was building tube amps in High school in 1980, my success rate would have been significantly higher. Overall this is a excellent text despite the flaws mentioned above. Whether degreed Electrical Engineer or avid hobbyist working on building tube amplifiers, this text is a worthwhile addition to your technical library.』

Quite unlucky the fact that the circuit is not calculated in detail, because the author regards it as "not so interesting" for the reader to implement himself. The book is a very nice introduction to valve technology. I enjoyed reading a lot and ordered edition 3 as well...』
(Not for the faint hearted) 『I bought this book because I need to restore an old valve guitar amp. I enjoy a challenge and feel that I am a reasonable learner - however being a complete novice at electronics, I am finding that I regularly need to refer to other resources to explain what are probably reasonably basic concepts. For example it has taken me 3 careful read-throughs - while constantly cross-referencing articles found on the internet - to understand the information given in the chapter that covers biasing a triode valve. I would have preferred a slower and more gentle introduction before 'hitting the hard stuff', or perhaps a few more examples and 'tests' with answers to ensure that I understood the concepts.
The author is certainly knowledgable, and it is written in a lively and engaging style, though he certainly pulls no punches with getting to the nitty-gritty. I know that if I succeed in reading the full book, and ensuring I spend the time to take in the information, then I will have a thorugh understanding of valve amplifiers.』
(A very good book about valves and electronics) 『This is a very good book about valves and about electronics. Mr. Jones has a very good knowledge about the subject, probably acquired during his time at BBC, and you can enjoy this knowledge bt reading carefully it. A treatment of hybrid circuits ( valves + transistors) is the highlight of this book. The volume packs a lot of useful information about the subject, with, in my opinion, just one point missed: the design of magnetics.
