(great for healthy lunch) 『i have been packing lunch for my friend when i take her to chemotherapy. it is a four hour round trip every day, and she goes all week long, every four weeks. the chemo itself takes several hours of infusion so she has to eat. they have a cafeteria where i can bring food up to her, but she really needs certain foods that are both high in protein and vitamins, and easy for her to keep down and digest. i use the two bottom compartments to keep foods cold, not hot. cottage cheese in the bottom. rice salad or pasta salad in the rice container, or possibly some cold leftovers. sliced fruit or vegetables in the larger top container, cookies or crackers in the top. this is working well.』
(How to feed a hungry spouse) 『My husband and I liked the idea of bento, but we didn't like some of the more frou-frou boxes. I also didn't want to have to go to great lengths to come up with fancy lunches every morning (I've got enough to do!). This box looked good and had good reviews - it was a little pricey, but we've absolutely LOVED it.
The containers looked small when we first got them, but the portion sizes are actually perfect - they fill my husband (who is not a small guy) - and yet don't overfill him.
The 3 dishes have to be stacked correctly to work, but then you don't have to heat or refrigerate the food. For us, this is great because though my husband does have access to a fridge and a microwave, work fridges are a black hole (things disappear for months in them) and work microwaves are a bit of a pain. This way, my husband can just eat whenever he feels hungry, and not have to go mess with heating or cooling his food - or even leaving his desk, if a super-busy day is in the cards for him.
It's very easy to fill this thing: main compartment is great for leftovers, even a sandwich cut into 1/4s. The top or bottom can manage fruit and/or veggies. I've tried cheese and crackers, almonds, desserts, soups, rice dishes, sliced fruit - you name it, this bento box can do it. Even a quick perusal of the pantry can turn into a very artistic, healthy meal when popped into this handy container.
And because you have to keep the portion sizes relatively - well, not small, just not BIG - the set-up actually encourages healthy eating. Since there's not much room, why waste space on chips, which are mostly grease and air? Instead, I find myself looking for stuff that will actually be filling and healthy. Good lunchbox real-estate = healthier portions. The smaller portions also means less waste - everything gets eaten and the box comes home clean.
My husband also loves the fact that he gets different stuff each day and in each container. He won't come into the kitchen as I make lunches in the morning, because he doesn't want to ruin his lunch "surprise."
This is a lunch box for a very particular KIND of lunch and KIND of person: namely, someone who wants to eat mindfully and of a diverse amount of healthy items. You can't just pork out on whatever's in the fridge if you're using this thing. (B&D Dustbuster) 『I have owned many generations of dustbuster. This one is reasonably powerful, but not what I had hoped for. Although the wattage is larger, the power does not appear to be more than the previous model. The snout and pull out crevice tool are larger than previous models and will not reach into small spaces and there isn't enough power to pull things out of crevices. On the other hand, objects do not stick in the cavity of the bowl as in prior models. Depending on use needs this dustbuster could be quite good or moderately so.』
(An Outstanding Tool) 『This is an outstanding tool. I use it primarily for cleaning my pair of Roomba 560s.
The first stage filter is brilliantly designed to concentrate trapped debris in one area so as to maximize the air flow through that first stage filter. This maximizes the time between cleanings while minimizing the reduction in suction. It also makes for easier cleaning.
I recommend using a HEPA grade vacuum cleaner to clean this HEPA grade DustBuster. I use the Kenmore Progressive [bagged] Upright Vacuum with Inteli-Clean System (Model 35922). That vacuum has a 17' stretch hose with a 5:1 extension ratio and exceptional hose tools. In fact, the crevice tool could hardly have been better designed for cleaning the HEPA filter used by this DustBuster.
But, for removing deeply embedded dirt -- especially in a badly neglected Berber carpet -- I recommend any Hoover with the patented WindTunnel feature and the Embedded Dirt Finder feature. For that task, I use the Hoover Anniversary WindTunnel Bagless Upright (model U5786900). On the downside, the hose and tools on the Hoover do not compare well to the Kenmore. Hence, the pair of uprights. And, the bagged Kenmore makes it convenient to more thoroughly clean the HEPA filter on the bagless Hoover.
With these 5 tools -- and a pair of HyperHEPA air purifiers from IQ Air, this allergy prone lifelong bachelor is finally keeping a cleaner home and enjoying MUCH better health!
P.S.) The reviewer who complained about cat food falling back out the front is probably just trying to pick up debris which is larger than the opening to the first stage filter area. Some handheld vacs may be better suited to this task. But, they probably won't be HEPA rated. This makes them great for cleaning up sawdust and debris from a project. I am not certain that if I removed the Hepa filter that this one's suction would improve, but with the filter on, it is literally NO BETTER than a regular household vacuum.
The tools have a caddy. The caddy does NOT elegantly fit the tools. The cord and main hose have no where to go.
For the price I would search elsewhere.

(Shop-Vac 22-Gallon Wet/Dry Vacuum) 『I bought this wet/dry vac about a year ago and so far, it has held up well to on the job use. Considering the reasonable price, I feel that it was a very good value and I expect to get another year out of it before replacing it with the same model if still available then. It has excellent suction power although the hose cannot be reversed for blowing. This is probably the main reason why the motor is so mercifully quite. With an empty tank, the vac is light enough for me to easily pick up and load in the truck but still heavy enough to roll smoothly on a concrete or plywood floor. The vac has an eighteen foot long power cord and came with a six-foot 2-1/2 inch diameter locking hose and accessory kit including a floor brush with squeegee, two 2-1/2 foot long extensions, a crevice tool and a disposable fine dust filter bag. I immediately ordered an additional eight-foot locking hose, hose coupling, right-angle brush attachment and two reducer/adapters for connection to my table saw and miter saw when needed. For regular cleanup, such as woodchips, I just use the included standard wet/dry paper element filter without a bag. When using the vacuum to clean soot from oil burner/gas furnace flues and stack pipes, wood stove/fireplace ash or drywall dust I always use the #90673 high-efficiency fine dust bags and have never had a problem with soot or dust blowing out of the motor exhaust and into the room. These filter bags come in two-packs and are a little expensive but can last for quite a while if you don't use them for everyday cleaning jobs. Of course, the twenty-two gallon tank does have a drain for liquids, but for continuous wet pickup below grade when no sump pit is available, I remove the top motor assembly and use a utility pump with a garden hose to drain the tank rather than try to lift it or fiddle with adapters for the tank drain. Overall, I have been very satisfied with this wet/dry vac and have no problem recommending it.』

Even the manual says to make sure it is right before you hammer it.
Next problem was that the handle did not line up with the screw holes on one side. Problem was that it fits under a lip in the casing, and so when you line up the screws it didn't fit under the lip. No amount of force would make it work, so I ended up drilling the hole a tiny bit so the screw can fit. It doesn't appear that my minor modification will impact it. In fact you can't even tell I did it, since I could see half the hole and just had to widen it on one side a bit. I don't think that it is a actual defect, and you probably won't have this problem with all of them.
next item is that the picture is wrong. The picture shows 4 casters, but there are only 2 casters in the front. The back has actual wheels. This limits the turning of the unit a bit as straight wheels don't swivl. Second discrepency is that this unit has a bar handle that attaches to the sides and stands up behind the unit. This is a nice bar and allows you to push the unit around with it instead of pulling the hose all the time. I find that the handle also makes a nice place to wrap the cord around.
Packaging of the unit was not the best. They put some cardboard sections in the bottom, but all the attachments were just thrown in either inside the unit or just laying on top of it in the box. Nothing was broken but I would like it better if everything was packaged nice and safe.
The extension wands are plastic, but my very first night I started a bad habit of dropping them on a concrete floor. I am concerned that one day it will shatter as it looks more on the brittle side than the tough rubber side.
A piece not included in the kit is the adapter to connect to standard power tools. (the hose with this thing is too big). They list it as an attachment but it is not part of the unit. (it should be in my opinion)』

Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Shop Vac foam filter) 『Never received anything so fast in my life. Ace is the place, as they say. When a friend moved ten years ago he gave me his fairly used Shop Vac. No instructions for this now antique model 500A. But I used it to drain my fish pond every few weeks, clean up my shop a few times each week or whenever needed in between. Never changed the filter - just emptied out the cleanups. But - into each life some rain must fall and the two cats my wife wanted brought me mine. When the Vac started blowing out some dirt, this retired engineer said it was about time I now look into things. I never saw so much cat fur surrounding whatever filter they used. Lucky the dust didn't coat the kitchen where I stupidly took off the vac's coveer. Gloves - I needed gloves just to get to the filter. It looked to be foam. Time to install the first new one. Forget the manufacturer - though they made the 500A in year 1 they had no info on anything to do with this great machine. Taking a chance, the foam filter ordered through Amazon came as fast as yesterday!. Only one way to install it - use common sense! End of story: I am now Shop-Vacing all over the place...』

I used my ShopVac to empty a algae clogged man made pond earlier this season. The algae was simple and fast to rinse out of the foam filter sleeve. It would have been a major task with the other filter. The Shopvac 905-85-1 Foam Filter Sleeves are less expensive than the other filters. When they get too gross or filthy, just toss and replace it.
I think these foam filters are the better choice for wet pick up uses and I'm happy with this purchase. John Row』

About a year ago I got the VF5000 filter, which was a big improvement, but the step up to VF6000 is even bigger, keeping dust from dry walling etc in place. Now with this kit installed I get better filtration, excellent suction and easy emptying. The dust bag is surprisingly large. I'm sure I will end up changing it more often than I cleaned the unit before simply because it is so much easier to do. Even so, I doubt I will go through more than three or four bags per year in my use. The extra expense is worth it both for convenience and for minimizing the amount of dust in the air. I'm constantly battling with dust in my woodshop for obvious reasons. This helps!
My only complaint is that there are absolutely no instructions included with the kit. Luckily it isn't hard to figure out, but you would think that they could have tossed a simple one page instruction sheet in the box.
