I insert a push pin into the lid. Put some tape over it, I use the black electrical tape, fold over the end so you can pull up easily each time. You can do this over and over, no need to try and pry open the lid with a spoon and possibly bend the lid. Works great!
I use this jar sealer more than the bags. In fact, I only had a few rolls left when I bought a large box of bags at Costco about 6 months ago. Haven't even opened that box yet! I mostly use the bags for freezing meat.
It is so easy to seal items in a wide mouth jar with this sealer. Just fill the jar up, place a canning lid on top, place the sealer on top and use your seal-o-meal or food saver to get all the air out. It makes things like chocolate chips, raisans, nuts etc. last so much longer. You can even pop open the lid, get out what you need and reseal it with the same lid for a longer shelf life!
This works as it is explained and I have enjoyed using it to seal items in my mason jars.
Product is easy to use and takes very little time. Lids can be reused over and over to seal the same jar again or another. Overall, I'm very pleased.
Very pleased, I've had absolutely no problems with this product. I think the point should be emphasized that you only need one of them to do all your jars. I hadn't realized that when I first looked into the product and had thought you needed an adaptor for every jar. One is all you need and they work like a charm. No one makes the point that you need to seal the jar with the ring after you have sealed the lid. Seems obvious, but needs to be said.
By removing air from a jar you can keep the food within fresh three to five times as long. Save your self time and money using the Tilia FoodSaver system.

After years of searching for a floor cleaner that is easy to use and not messy I found the Haans. I got the Deluxe Total Home Cleaning System and I could not be happier. It easy to use, lightweight and does not soak the floor with excess steam like my old steam cleaner. Just a tip-At first I was reluctant about the floor cleaner because when you first use the steam cleaner on tile all the residue from previous floor soaps come up creating a white film. I did not know what to make of that-talk about getting everything out of the tile. It really did. I cleaned the floor with vinegar and warm water to get all the soap off the floor. Thank goodness that only needed to be done once. It was worth it. Since then my floor is amazing. I can walk in my house with socks and they do not get grungy. I also use the floor steamer on my hardwood floors. For years my cherry floors always showed every smudge and foot print. I began over the years to hate my floors. What I found out was it was not my floors, it was the cleaners. Just like the tile the first time you clean the wood it may look dull. What I found is that as I continued to clean the floor with the Haan Steam floor cleaner my floors no longer show all the smudges and foot prints. The little cleaning system is great also. I use it to clean everything from the bathroom, base boards, grit and build up in the corners, stainless steel, windows to the tracks on my sliding glass doors. It is also awesome on flat stove tops. The bags fit the Miele canister well, so that's good. There are a bunch in the box, so that's also good. My cleaning lady seems to like them. All in all, nothing much to report here.

Miele vacs are terrific, even the cheapest ones. And the bags are great. Each box comes with the little filters you should change every now and then. The bags install easily, have a nice little flap thing that keeps dust from flying all around when you remove them, they seems to work even when you are too lazy to change them when you should and they don't break or anything.

No dust haze or little sparkles in the sunny air.

My last box was about $3 cheaper, so the price went up a big percentage. Miele may be gouging some here. I blame Miele because the price is the same everywhere. In my wooden-floored house, they last too long for me to worry about the infrequent purchase price.
It's hard to find these little suckers so ordering them this way was a joy.
This product is an EnviroCare Technologies product -- not Miele. The mechanism that attaches it to the vacuum is made of sturdy cardboard, not like the Miele which is made of plastic. But it does hold the bag securely in place and the bag works well. I haven't had any problems with its performance.

(FILTER REPLACEMENT)

This replacement filter works well with the Black and Decker Cordless Vacuum CHV1568. The manual says to replace the filter every 6-9 months but I seem to use up the filters much quicker even with washing the filters.

To Beth: The vacuum uses a single filter. And there is a filter housing (that holds the filter) that must be re-attached to the vacuum motor housing. The old filter should be pulled out from the housing and replaced with a new filter. The filter housing has 3 holes that go back onto the vacuum motor housing. Basically, you should be doing the opposite of Figure G to re-attach the filter housing -- fit the filter housing into place over the 3 pegs (2 on top, 1 on bottom) and twist counter-clockwise.

WE PURCHASED THE BLACK AND DECKER CORDLESS CHV1568 15.6 VOLTS HAND VAC RECENTLY. I READ THE DIRECTIONS, PLUGGED IT IN AND LET IT CHARGE FOR THE SUGGESTED LENGTH OF TIME. I VACUMED A SMALL AREA AND SEEMED TO GET SOME DEBRIS COMING OUT FROM BETWEEN THE MOTOR SECTION AND THE FILTER SECTION.
OPENING IT AND REMOVING THE FILTER WHICH WAS VERY DIRTY, I CLEANED IT OUT AND THEN COULD NOT GET THE FILTER TO TWIST BACK ONTO THE MOTOR SECTION. i THOUGHT THAT I MUST NEED A SECOND FILTER TO HELP. I WENT BACK TO THE STORE WITH MY DIRECTIONS AND WAS TOLD THIS ONLY HAD A SINGLE FILTER.
RETURNING HOME, I TRIED AGAIN TO GET THE FILTER BACK ON. THERE SEEMS TO BE TWO PLACES ON THE MOTOR HEAD THAT THE FILTER SHOULD TWIST BACK INTO. I CAN'T EVEN GET THE FILTER TO SIT ON THE FIXTURE.
WOULD SOMEONE PLEASE EXPLAIN HOW TO REPLACE THE FILTER, BESIDES WHAT THE DIRECTIONS, G1 G2 in the instruction manual say, which make no sense to me. I have arthritis in my hands, but it could not be that difficult to replace. In the simplest terms, please suggest how to attach the filter to the housing. and then tell me why it is not advertised on the box or anyplace else on the vac why it only needs one filter. Everything you need to update your Roomba. I do wish it came with more than one side brush.
Yes, there are fewer arms on this sidebrush than on the ones that came with the Roomba, so if that is important to you, as it was to one reviewer here, then by all means, this is not the sidebrush for you. If, however, you want a sidebrush that does not fall apart and throw an arm every week or so, then definitely, order these replacements. I have been using the same sidebrush for at least 5 months now, with the roomba running nightly, and have not had one arm fall off.
Upon receiving this replacement kit I was disappointed to see that the items contained within DO NOT match the picture displayed at the Amazon site. The Bristle and beater brush are cheaply made and are NOT equivalent to the original parts. I only received 2 replacement filters and the side brush is NOT what is displayed in the picture, the kit contains a white one with only three bushes extruding from the cheaply made plastic molding. FOR SHAME!
The parts I got were fine except for the side brush. I gave the two star rating because I think a product's photo should match the items received. The photo shows a 6-sided brush, and I actually received a 3-sided brush. I don't know if that will have an impact on my roomba's cleaning performance, but since it originally came with a 6-sided brush I felt I should replace it with the same part- which is what I thought I was getting from Amazon.
My wife and I have 400 series and 500 series Roomba's which we love. They work great and have been very reliable for years and I believe that is partially due to keeping them clean. After every use my wife takes them apart and blows out all the parts with an air hose. We bought these kits so that she can just put clean replacement parts back in and wash the dirty parts later. This may seem like overkill but it works for us.

This vac hits just about every mark right on the nose for me.

PROS:
It has a ton of suction power (as long as you keep the filter relatively clean).

It has a large diameter hose that can suck up large chunks.

Well thought-out attachments. I didn't think I would, but I've used all of them for different applications, and found all to be very useful.

It is very quiet for how powerful it is.

Great carrying handle, and easy to use snap-locks to take the lid off and put it back on.

Long cord, long hose, quite portable.

Great casters, very stable.

CONS:
Just one, but it's nasty: The output blower blows with incredible force on the opposite side of the suction input. Some form of this is to be expected to a certain extent, as the air that is sucked in has to be pushed back out in some way with equal force; I've just seen other designs that manage this much better. This design pushes with equal force out of a hole equal in diameter to the input hole, horizontally out the opposite side. Like I said, the force is great. It is like a leaf-blower. This design is supposedly set up this way so that one could hook the hose up to the output hole and do things like blow leaves... but if you're not blowing leaves, you blow dust, dirt, debris, and other unwanted things out into the air to fly off and settle somewhere else. A nightmare for, say, cleaning up drywall dust after hanging, taping and sanding drywall -- by turning on the vac, you are effectively distributing all the dust on the output side out into the rest of the house.

Don't get me wrong; the suction is amazing, and what you suck up is sufficiently filtered and deposited into the base... It's just that anything that happens to be on the wrong side of the vac will be lifted up off the ground and spread off into the distance. The only way I've found to avoid this is to aim the output hole out a door and be mindful not to tug the vac in too far while cleaning. Seems like a serious nuisance to me.

Are most shop vacs designed this way? I guess I've only seen one other brand's design, which came out the top and somehow spread the "impedance" of the air so that it exited gently out of a vent that ran 360 degrees around the motor, instead of being concentrated into a tight, forceful air jet shooting out of one side.

Overall I really like the vac. It's the most powerful of any I've ever used and has really worked well for all the things I've used it for. I just have to pay close attention to where that exit port is and make sure it won't cause any problems.
Chose this model after doing some research and reading some consumer reports. This model is great for moderate to heavy household and garage/shop use. Powerful vacuum and blower functions. Casters roll great and prevent tip-over. Tools and tool bag are nice too.

Let me keep this short and simple- this sucker blows like a hurricane! It's much more powerful than others I have used. The speed adjustment is handily located. And while I'd never call it "quiet", it's not as loud as less powerful blowers I have owned. I can't comment on the vacuum function as I've never used it.
This is an excellent blower. It generates a LOT of wind so be careful where you point it. Sucks great too. The wide nozzle will get stuck to the sidewalk.
I despise cheesy tools. This thing isn't.

Worked great the first season. Second season I was blowing some dirt off my driveway and it started to slow down then I started to smell electrical smoke. Of course, a year later I didn't have my receipt any longer so this turned out to be just a big paper weight. Disappointing for a a Toro product.
It works great. Downside is I need a 100' extension cord to reach to the edge of my yard. I found after a while that it is a pain to get out a 100' cord and especially to put it away again.
Hang on to Toto when you fire this baby up--the air blast out of this blower is phenomenal! The literature says it produces up to a 215 mph current, and they're not kidding. It converts in a few seconds to a vacuum by removing the inlet tube and cover; just hook the front of the vacuum tube on and snap. Attach the generous bag and you're ready to pick up the mountain of leaves you've blown. As it vacuums, the fan impeller will mulch the leaves down, too, reducing 10 bags to 1. We like the ergonomic handle and the comfortable strap. The tubes are sturdy and won't crack if you accidentally whack them. It's a light unit at 7.3 pounds, and it's not nearly as loud as most, though at 69 decibels, you'll still want to wear ear protection. Bravo, Toro!--Kris Jensen-Van Heste

Typically, this sort of clamp has notches the entire length of the band. Note: this one does NOT (look closely at picture). It works great for a 5" hose, but runs out of notches when used for a 4". You can tuck a small shim between the clamp and hose to 'trick' it into working, but that's not really what anyone is looking to do. Don't buy this for an outside diameter less than 4.25" or greater than 5.5". Otherwise, it's an adequate clamp.
I used both types of band clamps- steel band clamps and wire band clamps- with the ribbed hose in my dust collection system.The steel band clamps slipped more, were harder to control going on and didn't seat as well as the the wire band clamps

With the shop vac micro cleaning kit I can use the power of my shop vac to clean out the inside of my computer case. I had been wasting money every month on cans of air to blow dust off the heat sinks and fan blades or just to clean the keyboard but this kit turns my shop vac into the ultimate computer cleaning machine.

The kit includes two extentions and two different sized brushes that also allow you to clean out a ps3, xbox 360 or vcr. The first time I cleaned my 360 it blew a huge dust cloud out all over. I couldn't believe how dusty it was inside!

This kit pays for itself in the money it saves on canned air. I highly recommend it!

I got one of shop-vacs new 6.5 Hp vacs with detachable blower for Christmas and it rocks! It has power to spare for suction and the blower with the reducer tip almost feels as it could lift it's self if you where to let go (that's a lot of volume AND velocity for an electric blower). I found them to be a good deal and got their smallest one at the local Lowes (the 2.5 gallon, 2hp). It has lots of suction (for it's size) like the big one. While I was there I found this accessory set and got it for kicks. It works well, obviously it's suction is limited buy the opening... The brushes seem to be flexible yet stiff enough to remove set in dust but not damage delicate things (circuit boards for example) and the tips are about the right size for most small areas (inside the catch basin on my drill doc for another example).

I like the reducer tip the most, I have used it several times to blow off my hair and clothing after sawing on something. It doesn't exactly turn your vac into an air gun, but it will clear a table and get bits of saw dust out of your hair.
This is an excellent little kit for use of your Shop-Vac. You can get into crevices and the smallest areas of your John Deere tractor without damaging anything. Can be used on electronic equipment, too.
To use this you need Shop-Vac 906-85-00 2.5"to 1.25"Conversion Unit. Imagine the suction of your Shop-Vac pulling through the tip the size of a pencil! That gives you an idea of the cleaning ability you can get with this add on kit. We had broken glass from a shattered windshield of our van - in the heater ducts, the recessed speaker enclosures, EVERYWHERE! We used the micro kit in conjunction with our regular size Shop Vac and were able to get all of the glass from these hard to reach places.
