(Red is better) 『After having many red roombas (they don't last very long, but while they last, they're great), we switched to a yellow because it was a bit cheaper. No go. It never worked properly, becoming stuck on the slightest obstacle. You couldn't turn it on and leave the room because within minutes it would be stuck on something. It also lasted an even shorter time than the red Roombas, about two months and it was done. The red ones at least can make it 6 to 10 months if you're lucky.』
(I adore this item) 『We have an incredibly sheddy dog, and my husband and I both have back/disk injuries. It was at the point where, by the time our backs stopped hurting from sweeping, it was time to sweep again (seriously, this house needs sweeping daily, our dog can seriously shed). This little device is a lifesaver. It gets everything up, and it's easy as can be. A few people mentioned it being difficult to clean the brushes; I don't get that at all. I think it's pretty easy. It's even easier if you ignore the comb part of the cleaning tool that comes with it and get a wire dog brush (not recommending any brand, but this is the kind I mean: http://www.amazon.com/Evolution-Self-Cleaning-Slicker-Medium-Large-Brush/dp/B0002DIRWS/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1257196684&sr=8-8). use the bladed part of the cleaning tool that comes with it to break up any "rings" of dog hair caught on the brushes and pull them off, then brush it with the dog brush. Seriously, it's like a 2-3 minute process tops. The instructions say to clean the brush every 3rd use, but I clean them every time I empty the dust pan.
I've had this for almost 2 months, and it gets run almost daily. After about 2 weeks it started running wonky. I followed the website instructions based on the number of beeps it made (the number of beeps is supposed to tell you what's wrong)and it didn't work, so I sent a message to customer support on the irobot site. I got a response back within 15 minutes, with a list of "things to try." In my case, it turned out I needed to clean the little end caps on the brush as well, which I'd missed. Once that was done, it worked perfectly again. This item is just such a major convenience, I highly recommend it to everyone with hard surface floors and area rugs without fringe (it cleans our area rug as well). Now if only they could make another robot that would pick my kids toys off the floor and put them away...』

It is entertaining to watch the machine get itself into areas of the shop which almost trap it, but it keeps going until if finds a way out.
In several areas of my shop I have 1/2" cushion pads to ease foot and leg strain. The Dirt Dog doesn't do well with them, so I put them up to avoid the issue.
A maid would do a slightly better job, but the Dirt Dog is more entertaining and much cheaper!』
(Works great on solid surface floors, but noisy) 『We love our irobot. We have two dogs who track in a lot of dirt (we live in Texas where the dirt is like sand and gets into everything) and do a lot of shedding. The irobot easily picks up all of the dirt and the hair on our stamped concrete floors. It sometimes gets stuck when trying to vacuum the area rug so we normally put things in its way so it can't go there. It is loud so we normally let it go when we leave for work in the morning. That way we can come home to clean floors. We live in a 2 bedroom apartment with the main living area that is about 600 square feet. The battery easily lasts to clean up the main area. I have had this machine for a year now and love it! Before purchasing, I read all the reviews and did a lot of research on what type of serger I wanted. I even considered a high quality, $800 serger which created beautiful lingerie edges. After reading several good and bad reviews for this product I decided that I would take a risk with it. I'm glad I did. I just graduated with a four year fashion design degree, and I would not have made it through my senior year studio without this serger. I specialized in custom designed wedding dresses and this surger's ability to create rolled hems on really delicate and thick fabrics, resulted in a beautiful finished product. Once I discovered the rolled hem function on the machine, I rarely ever surged anything; the rolled hem just seems to look so much cleaner on a finished product. You do have to adjust the threads a little and get use to it with each different fabric you use. Unlike some of the really expensive fancy machines I was use to in the lab, I found that I did have to do a couple of practice stitches and make sure the tension was correct when switching fabrics. After those few practice stitches and some minor tweaking, the machine produces a nice finished edge. I usually get really frustrated at threading sergers and this was one of my biggest concerns when looking to purchase a serger. This machine is incredibly easy to thread and has wonderful color coding instructions. Overall I highly recommend this serger. It produces quality work and is highly worth the money. 』

After I watched the demo (which ran fine on my Vista x64) and read the instructions I set it up and tried it out. The first thing I noticed was that the machine's motor ran rough and felt and sounded really poorly made. That is a big strike for me. The next thing that I noticed was how awkward the placement of the controls were. They were not intuitive to use if you have ever used a regular sewing machine before. In a nutshell, I didn't like the feel of it, I didn't enjoy using it and I didn't think it would last very long before breaking down. I returned it the same day I received it. Sometimes after I have started the piece of equipment I'm using I'm not sure if I turned the dust collector on with the Long Ranger as the sound of the equipment is louder than the dust collector. (Saves time (really!)) 『First I got a shop vacuum cleaner with an auxilliary outlet that I can plug a power tool into. Turn the tool on and the vacuum goes on. Very helpful for a sander or (in my case) a miter saw that would otherwise create a cloud of dust. Then I said, "Hey, dummy, why are you always walking around the table saw to the dust collector, flipping the On switch, and walking back, and then going back to the end of the workshop to turn it off? Buy one of those remote switch gizmos."
The Long Ranger III works. It saves time going back and forth to the dust collector and I don't get lazy about making one or two cuts without turning it on. The remote comes with a little belt clip, but you can Velcro it to the back of the table saw fence so it will (usually) be where you can find it. 』
(Works great) 『I have been using this remote for about 1 month now on a 2 hp/220v Grizzly DC. It is great to be able to turn it on and off from anywhere in the shop. It is a big time saver and very convienient. I am sure I am saving some money because I dont' leave the DC running for long periods of time like I did before I got this. The remote has a belt clip on it so I attach it to my tool belt and its always there when I need it. This Panasonic vacuum (which is excellent, by the way) came with two vacuum bags, but I thought from the quality materials and construction of the bags that it wasn't going to be cheap to keep the house vacuumed. I was pleasantly surprised at how long the bags lasted. Even though they aren't terribly big, they are very sturdy and expand to hold a great deal more dust and dirt that expected. Unlike most canister bags, they aren't made of paper, it is sort of a thick stretchy material. They are very easy to change and don't "leak" dirt and dust all over when you take them out of the canister. At $9.99 a four pack here at Amazon, they are a bargain and should last several months, at least, in the average house.』
