(Really good tumbler, but some flaws....) 『I've accumulated a lot of tumblers over the years (free and purchased), and this is the best one I own.
Pros: 1. Insulated - I know this is one of the big selling points, but I just want to re-emphasize it. I own a sports car with fairly stiff suspension, and every day I have to contend with speed bumps at work. Some of my tumblers spit and spill even when the stopper is closed, getting all over the place. Not with the Contigo. Plus, you can toss it in your messenger bag, no worries. 2. Cool to the touch. 3. Pretty cool looking, if you care what your tumbler looks like... Personally, I don't really care, but I thought I'd include this as a pro anyways.
Cons: 1. The way the sipper top works, you have no idea how hot the liquid is before you take a sip. When I first used this tumbler, I had a couple incidents of burnt tongue. I've just resigned to the fact I have to wait for the liquid to cool enough to start drinking... In some of my other cups, the top has a big lip where the liquid pours into first, and you can cool it a bit. 2. The first con is the only real problem I have with the mug... However, here are a couple annoyances that weren't important enough to factor into my actual rating: the mug is advertised to hold 16 oz. And it does, but it will fill it to the absolute top. The problem here is, this won't work once you put the lid on. If you fill it as high as possible, taking into consideration the top, you lose a couple ounces. Not a biggee, but there ya go. Also, you have to hit a button every time you sip due to it being insulated. Again, not a biggee, just a nit, and really something you have to live with for the insulation.
Overall, great mug... in retrospect, I'm not sure it's worth $20, but I still like it.』

(Cleaning Was Never So Much Fun) 『This is my first steamer, so I didn't know what to expect. It's been two weeks now and overall I think it's a good value. It's fabulous for cleaning any corners, small cracks and intricate items like around faucets, refrigerator handles and the coil behind the refrigerator. It did a really good job on the impossible to clean area under the front of the refrigerator that had caked-on dust and dried spills covering all the metal brackets, wires, tubes and wheels. But best of all - the toilet, especially the hinges for the toilet seat, and the seam where the toilet meets the floor, and anywhere behind the toilet - you get the idea.
The combination of the heat and the powerful blast of the steam acts to soften the dirt and then force it out to where you just wipe it up. You get a nice, really clean surface. Some items haven't been this clean since they were new. Some even look like new.
Do yourself a very big favor and get a whole bunch of microfiber cloths for wiping and drying. Sometimes, for stubborn old dirt, first spray a little Fantastic cleaner, then use the steamer and wipe with the microfiber cloths. This makes a super dynamite cleaning combination. You can also use your own microfiber cloths with the floor attachment.
The steam leaves a clean smell and I don't have to worry about breathing any of it. It's good that most of the steam ends up in the air, so that there is not a lot of residual water that needs to be cleaned up. After not spraying for a while, some steam in the hose condenses back to a little bit of water, so then I usually spray for a second or two into the sink or a cloth to clear the water.
There is some confusion about the so-called ready light. Just know that it's a small light that turns on whenever the water heater is on. So when the light turns off, it means that the heater has reached the high temperature shutoff point. I notice a slight increase in the steam pressure just after the heater light turns off because this is when the water is the hottest. But the steam pressure is very good all the time, even if you have a long steaming session. The heater light automatically turns on and off while you steam, and you don't even notice it. I usually steam, then wipe, steam, then wipe, and never have to wait for more steam.
There is also some confusion regarding the steam temperature. I was surprised that this big cloud of steam is actually not too hot to your hand, even as close as 3 or 4 inches from the tip. I think it's because the steam quickly cools itself by the evaporative process. This is good because you really don't need to worry so much about burning your hand, like when you are holding an object in one hand and spraying steam with the other. But don't be fooled. The temperature right at the tip is hot. I measured about 170 to 180 degrees right where the steam comes out. Most home water heaters are set for only about 120 to 140 degrees. If you steam a small metal object (that conducts heat), it will quickly become too hot to handle. I've accidentally peeled a little spot of latex paint off a door because I held it on the same spot a little too long. I always use rubber gloves and have had no problem with handling the steam.
Regarding the noise, firstly, the unit makes no sound at all when you are not spraying steam. When it sprays steam, the noise comes from the tip where the steam comes out. I can understand that many people say it is loud. To me, it means that this is a pretty powerful spray of steam. After I do steaming for an hour or two, without earplugs, then my ears feel a little bit like I've attended a rock concert, especially if I were steaming a bathroom or inside the refrigerator, which magnifies the sound. Now, I always wear ear plugs.
The unit has a carrying handle, but no caddy for the attachments, cord and hose - not a big problem for me. I use only distilled water, as they suggest, so the tank doesn't become clogged with mineral deposits. I put in two or three of their measuring cups with their little funnel and it lasts a good long time, like you wonder why the steam hasn't run out yet. I always keep an extra couple of gallons of water on hand because I have a tendency to keep cleaning more stuff once I get started. The steam keeps going strong until the tank is totally empty, and then it suddenly stops. Refilling is pretty quick and easy, but first hold the sprayer open to release any remaining pressure. You only need to tighten the filler cap with light fingertip pressure. It takes a few minutes (2 to 5 minutes depending on how much water you add) for the water to reheat and then you can steam for another long time.
One of the few things it doesn't do so well is the hard baked-on food like inside the oven or the stove top. Also, when I was steaming the metal handles on dark wood kitchen cabinets, I noticed the wood starting to take on a light, cloudy haze. It seemed ok after rewaxing, but you need to be careful around wood furniture or cabinets.
I've read some complaints about the small brush tips wearing out too quickly. I think this might be because people are mashing down too hard on the tip. The idea is to try to let the steam do the work and brush with only moderate pressure. Sometimes I use a toothpick to loosen stubborn dirt in small areas, and then go back with the steamer. I think the tips are holding up ok.
One precaution I take is to avoid pulling the tank by the hose because I think this could break the hose which does not seem to be repairable. 』

(Cleaning heaven) 『I normally don't take the time to write reviews on anything... but this product deserves it. First the delivery was really fast (2 days), with normal shipping. When I got this I had to try it right away. I had a lot of expectations and was not disappointed. I started with the bathroom because I always fear that it smells like a public restroom in some gas station in a small town (yes, I did put a lot of thought into this). My youngest son had dropped propolis (iIt's a product found south of the border and it's a honey based natural medication excellent for colds etc.) on the bathroom floor.... I know cold is supposed to be better for you but this machine is differnt. It dosent get moldy. At least not yet and I have had it a month. I have an RO System on my water and therefor a filter is not required and it as been great. One note though, I have to turn my desired humidty down AT LEAST 10% below what I wnt it and I still wake up with sweaty windows. There is no wood in my house though so its alright with me. I cant handle the dry air in the winter it just tears me up. Lastly it is sooooo quite, except for the water gurgling every now and then you dont hear it AT ALL. One more last thing I havent checked, my wife has been sneezing alot since I took out the cheap cold air model but maybe it is a coencidence. I will find out in a day or two. Sorry I dont know yet!』

Ironically, every time the forced air heating system cycles in the house, the hygrometer dives 20% within minutes... No wonder, we were dry as a bone before the 7144. (Noxious Odors and Terrible Customer Support) 『We recently purchased the Air-O-Swiss AOS-7144. On the first night of using it there was a highly noxious and metallic smell. We kept running the machine for 24 hours to see if that would remove the smell and it did not. After reading further about ionic tools we found this is common. While many of the articles referencing problems with ionic machines reference the problem to air cleaners, the described symptoms are the same. Additionally of concern, this ionic process apparently also creates additional ozone which can be damaging to lungs.
Once we discovered these problems we attempted to return the product. Because it was a third party seller Amazon would not initially refund the product and referred us to the seller. After going to the seller's website they indicated they would not provide a refund unless we first contacted customer service. We tried for a couple of days and waited on the phone for up to an hour with a voice mail saying an agent would be right with us (apparently when they are closed their voicemail does not indicate this and simply lets you wait on the line). Finally, we reached a customer support person who said they would not refund us the money because we purchased the product through Amazon. It took several attempts to get the customer service person to provide this policy in writing (she repeatedly said she could not do so and refused to let me talk to a supervisor until she realized I wasn't going away until she did so). Finally, I talked with a supervisor (Desree) who said they would provide the policy in writing after consulting and going through the corporate office (will wait and see). I re-contacted Amazon who said they would take steps to try and help us collect the money but would not specify they would reimburse. Additionally, Amazon stated they would not help with the refund for another five days from the date of this review because it was still within the expected day of delivery for the product (even though we have had the product for over a week).
Hopefully, this details out about a potentially dangerous and certainly noxious smeling product which has extremely bad customer support from both the seller and Amazon.』

(A lifetime supply) 『We've been using 2 Roombas, intensively for more than a couple of years and, finally, it came to the point where we thought we wanted some replacement filters, mainly because the existing ones began to look a bit worn out.
Three extra filters... 2 of them are unlikely to be used because you are may replace your Roomba before they get a chance to perform. They are so well-made, they hardly ever break or degrade. My advice: try to find a combo pack that includes one filter because 3 filters is probably 2 too many. If you have 2 Roombas, like we do, then purchasing this pack does make sense.

(good lighting with deceptive advertising, wasted wattage,&possible eye damage.) 『I own several Ott lights, including this one. It's great lighting, but here's what they don't tell you in their misleading ads.
1. Yes, it may be a 13W bulb, but the accompanying transformer is very hot, and Ott's service department refused to inform me how much electricity and heat this hot transformer generates.
2. The transformer is slightly heated even when the light is turned off! What a waste of electricity!
3. Full spectrum light health benefits, if any, are useful only if the ultraviolet rays are seen. But, there is some evidence that macular degeneration (blindness) can result from seeing light that are more bluish, and I would suspect even more so with bluish and ultraviolet.
I noticed some deterioration of my vision (more likely due to aging), called Ott's service department, and they denied that there are any possible eye health detrimental effects. How can they possibly know, when there are those suffering from macular degeneration who claim to the contrary. What a bunch of hypocrites to be making claims of healthy lighting and not advising there may be severe damaging effects.
If I ever get macular degeneration, Ott will certainly be blamed, because I worked with the Ott lite very closely. Why can't they just tell the truth and the user then can then take preventative measures?
4. These lights overall are expensive, expensive to replace, and very expensive on electricity and heat generated. I purchased two Germ Guardians recently. My purchase was both for personal use, and to provide a consumer review for my clients.
After less than a month of use, the bulb started to flicker and died in one unit. I am very familiar with UV-C sterilizing lights and have used them reliably for years in koi pond, potable water, and HVAC applications. I've never seen a bulb fail so quickly. In fact, quality UV bulbs typically last for several years even though their effectiveness diminishes over time. Note, that the bulbs are extremely expensive for UV C applications.
Additionally I find the fan units of these devices to be very loud, so much so that they cannot be used in a room if the room is occupied, and certainly not in a bedroom. I measured the sound at 5 feet at 50 decibels. And yes I take sound measurements professionally. Thats 4 sones! The industry standard threshold for bathroom fans for example is one sone.
I have not yet disassembled one, but expect to find poor construction and cheap components.
I don't feel I have received a quality product for the price.
The concept is great, and there is a market, but the quality of this particular product is not at a marketable level in my opinion.』
(I Question Manufacturing Quality) 『I ordered two of these from Amazon for use in a large bedroom for a person with ongoing health issues. The order arrived very quickly and I anxiously tried the units to see how they operated initially. As soon as I turned on the first I could hear the fan literally rattling loud enough to sound like it was on the verge of failing. And that was when it was set on low speed! On high speed it was obnoxious. The other unit was definitely quieter but not nearly quiet enough to be used in any bedroom. Amazon was superb and sent two replacements via 1-day air without hesitation and paid return shipping for the bad units. I could not ask for better service from them.
Of the two replacements, one fan initially ran with a noticeable rattle and the other rattled very lightly. Possibly as quiet as it may ever be. After 48 hours the rattling sounds have diminished but the units are still too noisy for use in a bedroom. Both have an irritating whine in addition to the sound of air movement and that sound cannot be ignored in an otherwise quiet room. So they cannot be used in a bedroom for anyone but a very sound sleeper. I have kept one in the bedroom but turn it off at night. The noisier of the two stays running in a different room.
I wish I could evaluate these on their effectiveness at cleaning the air but it's too early for that. However, the significant variation between the behavior of 4 units can be evaluated and makes me question their construction quality before ever getting to the germ killing issue. Not a great start and not very impressive. If we see some apparent improvement in air quality or health issues diminish with time I will modify this review. I hope it will be possible to report some very positive results because the concept seems a good one, especially for those with health problems.
There is a definite quality issue here in that 4 units all have noticeable differences in noisiness from their fans and all fans emit a rattling sound as if they are worn or out of balance and on the verge of failing. Fan technology is certainly nothing new and for what these units cost, it is not asking too much to expect a quiet, quality fan.
If you buy these please know that they are not whisper-quiet and don't be surprised if they even sound as if something may be wrong.

This year, I decided to buy another one for my son's classroom and the teacher is thrilled to have it. No one has been sick in her classroom since it has been there. Hey if this machine can prevent germs in a classroom and prevent me from taking time off of work to care for my sick child, it is more than worth it. Don't understand how it works, but it does and with all the airborne illnesses, I would recommend it to everyone, and I have.』
(Smelled after six months) 『1. Annoying, bright blue light. The light makes it difficult to sleep with (I had this in my bedroom). I put black electrical tape over the two light slits, thereby ghetto-fying a previously awesome looking unit. 2. Noisy fan. The noise is difficult to sleep with. Dialing it down to the lowest speed makes it tolerable, but it feels weird knowing it's at its lowest. 3. Accumulated a lot of dust. The dust on the filter is easy to clean but good luck cleaning the dust from the fan and in the surrounding areas at the bottom. Compressed air only gets the loosest dust out, but on mine there was a stubborn layer of dust that was difficult to get to (and likely impossible without disassembling the unit). 4. Smelled bad. This happened after six months, and may have been partially my fault - I sprayed Chamomile fragrance near it, and I think the unit sucked it in. The smell came from inside the unit, and smelled *bad*. I think the fragrance may have stuck to the accumulated dust and the combo of the two made a stinky odor. I hope it's not mold or bacteria (uh, the unit is supposed to eliminate that?).
I couldn't figure out how to clean the bottom stink out of the bottom of the unit (the top of the unit was easy to clean because it's easily accessible), so I threw it out. I had learned to live with it for the first 6 months that it was odor free, but I'm definitely NOT getting this again for the bedroom.
[UPDATE] Ok, I ended up disassembling/dismantling the thing before I finally threw it out. The remaining odor was mostly around the dust covered fan unit. I did some googling, and I think the smell was from the chamomile spray residue (on the dust and the other surfaces) getting rancid - I am not a chemist but supposedly UV light helps certain things get rancid! On the other hand, disassembling the unit made me appreciate the craftsmanship and design. My only wish was for a way that I could have cleaned out that bottom area of the unit.』

The challenge is obviously the longevity of the product. Seals weaken over time and pressure, therefore, only time will tell how good/long the product will last.
In all fairness (and with only few weeks observation) for the price paid this is an excellent product. Also a great gift idea for upcoming holidays.

The book gives the answer 135 by multiplication, the answer is 60 by Division! The equation just below it has the right answer but the fraction has the values in the wrong position. This on just a brief look at the book so far. Many of the definitions in the back are bad or just plain wrong. Not sure what to trust in this book. The concept is good; could have been better written for a learning manual, especially about electric and Radio. My personal opinion is that anyone giving this book a top five star rating just doesn't get it or they are associated with book somehow,,,this is suppose to be a how to learning manual, understand?』

I use it to suck up dust and cat hair from my my computer desk, and it does a great job. I haven't used it for much beyond that, and wouldn't expect it to do much more. Mind you, it has done a great job of picking up any little bits of paper, crumbs, dirt, etc., that I've thrown at it. Just don't purchase this vacuum with the idea of using it as a mini shop vac.
I've found the battery to last longer than I'd expect. I haven't charged it in about a month, with quick daily uses, and it keeps going. Note that the unit gets pretty warm when left on the charger 24/7. I don't think it is too much of a concern, but I'd be wary of leaving papers on top of it for a long time.
I've seen others complain about the on/off button being a push-and-hold design, but I actually like it. Basically, you have to hold the power button down in order for it to work. I like how you just hold the button down, give the area to be cleaned a quick pass, then let go of the button. I wouldn't have a problem with a normal on/off button, but I don't miss it, either.
The receptacle has to be emptied often, but that's mostly a characteristic of the device's small size. It really is a perfect fit for your hand. At least the receptacle is pretty easy to empty. I've had similar vacuums in the past where opening the receptacle was nearly impossible, and they had a near-identical receptacle design.
I appreciate the slick design of the unit. Most vacuums of this size tend to be pretty plain and/or ugly. The modern look, with the smoke-colored receptacle, is very nice. I have no problem leaving this vacuum mounted on the wall in my office.
All in all, it's a very handy little vacuum to have sitting around.』

I bike to work everyday, and so I need a mug that can fit nicely in my bag and won't leak. Because the mug doesn't have a handle, it slips easily into a bag or backpack. The vaccum seal is absolutely perfect (100% after 2 yrs). The mug also keeps liquids hot an incredible amount of time. Even without the vaccum seal top lid, my drink stays warm for over an hour or two. I haven't ever tested how long things stay hot with the vaccum lid on. Another advantage is that this mug is good for tea drinkers. You can place tea leaves or a tea bag in the mug, along with hot water, and the infuser will keep leaves from coming through lid. I have also found that the mug does not absorb flavors, so non-coffee drinks do not taste like coffee (even if you use it for coffee 99% of the time). The mug is also pretty sexy looking. I'm an aesthetic, so I appreciate the style and shine. There are only a couple issues I have had with this mug. First of all, the outer casing of the mug is easily dented. Nearly every significant drop on gravel, concrete, or down some steps, resulted in dents and scratches. Some of the dents were rather significant. The dents didn't effect the mug's function. Another issue is that the mug can tend to be difficult to drink out of if you keep the infuser in. The infuser tends to block an even flow of liquid. Personally, I just remove the infuser unless I am using the mug for tea. I lost this mug last week, and today I'm buying a new one. It's one of the most useful items I own. It also falls over when using an extension hose. I had my husband build a wood base to put it in while in use or stored, so it would be more stable.

The reasons why this is not 5 stars:
1) cheap plastic.
2) short cord.
3) A little tricky to empty when used for dry pick-ups.
While I like it and the price was right, Sears had a more powerful on sale a week or so later. It looked better made too.
If you can get this for $19, buy it. If you have to do heavy wet/dry vacuuming, buy a bigger and more powerful model.』
(Tiny, but great suction! Easy to use! Perfect for quick jobs!) 『WET DRY VAC. Small, cheap, great suction - use with or without paper filters. OK, it's a cheapy, so don't expect miracles. Loud, but not obscenely so. Hard to clean out (without the paper filter bags) but can be done (vacuum out with another vac if needed.) Of course, without the bags the filter gets trashed real quick and has to be replaced. Bags are expensive, at about $3.50 each, with shipping, but CONVENIENCE is what a this product is about. On the plus side, is very light and easy to handle. PERFECT for what it's made for, quick light jobs, like a cardiac cleaning with company on the way, or pet hair, debris, etc, in corners, under cabinets, and along edges of flooring, or a spill. (YES, you'll want to glue the hose connection to the tank.) Only thing we'd like to see included is a long wand for reaching corners, cobwebs, etc, but we use one we have from another vacuum.』
(Its OK) 『This Shop Vac is OK. The bigger, more expensive models are more powerful, but thats to be expected. Unfortunately, with Shop Vacs, you inevidibly, compromise power and performance when you go for the smaller models.
What I like about this vacuum:
1. Its lightweight-easy to carry around, especially when cleaning the car. I occasionally use it indoors as well.
2. I've used it a few times. If you clean the filter (or whatever it is that they tell you to empty and clean after each use) as recommended then the vacuum maintains its "full strength" power (as time goes by, it does lose strength when you're using it, but thats due to its small "holding" capacity-it can't stomach 16 lbs. of debris).
3. Price. Hey I paid ~$30, so I can't expect the performance of an industrial strength commercial cleaner or even my household canister that cost a few hundred bucks. But for the price, its a nice little tool for little jobs.
What I don't like about it:
1. It seems to blow a lot of dust around sometimes. But this may have more to do with how you hold it then the product itself. Because when I was cleaning my car, I'd notice sometimes an area that I had just cleaned would be dirty a few minutes later. And I think this was in part due to the how the vacuum was positioned because there is a part of it that vents out air which I think is responsible for blowing around debris and dirtying areas that had just been cleaned. So be mindful of how the vacuum is sitting or how you're holding it and you will be OK.
2. Not a lot of power. But like I said-for $30, I didn't buy this with unrealistic expectations. In fact, I was more impressed with what I got for the price, then anything.
3. Not place to store attachments-but hey, its a small vacuum made to be portable so I understand that there isn't room for that.』
(Great for the Price) 『UPDATE: I have since replaced this Hangup Mini with the shopvac Hangup wet/dry vacuum, which although lacks the wall mount bucket holder (has a side wall holder instead), no hose holder, no parts holder, it does have a much better way of opening the unit AND can be used as a blower. Other than that, they are pretty much both the same even though the HangUp states it has a slightly higher amperage, which I could not really tell the difference in suction.
I have to say that I was quite surprised by the power of this mini Wet/dry shopvac.
I was expecting dustbuster strength, but nothing as powerful as this. I should have known it would have been shop vac strength but certainly did not expect that from such a small unit. Granted the diameter of the hose is very smaller in comparison to a typical shopvac, but still wide enough to pickup dirt, wood chips and small nails&screws.
It sure is noisy though. I would have to wear ear plugs if I was going to use it for prolonged periods of time.
I have to agree with other users that the power cord is just too small. Perhaps Shop Vac decided that if your going to need an extension cord, might as well make the cord small for easy storage. Regardless, you'll have to tag on a few bucks for an extension cord, unless you already have one.
I love the weight of this Shop Vac and both the handle on top and the insert handle on the top base, makes it very easy to hold and vacuum at the same time. You can even decide not to install the top handle is you so desire.
The cubic beveled shape came in very handy for creating a backpack vacuum. I retrofitted an old backpack so that I could vacuum my workshop&even house with this shop vac on my back. It's so light and easy to maneuver this way compared to buying a similar backpack vacuum that costs well over $1000. Try it, you'll see how much easier it is to vacuum and it fits within most daypacks (Just make sure that their is an exhaust). Last, I read on one of the posts that some people are using these for their RV's or trucks with a transformer. Although it uses less power than a typical shop Vac, it looks like your still going to need a 1500 watt inverter, rather than a 750-1200 watt power inverter. Just an FYI.
The reason I gave this review 4 stars is because I took off one star for the Noise (damn it's loud) and another for the short powercord, short hose, and the lack of a typical Shop Vac hose exhaust outlet. I have no clue why they did not add a hose exhaust outlet, as it certainly would have been a benefit to use it as a blower.』
(Boooooooooo!) 『Space is an issue for me. So is cleanliness. Why does this vac stink? Because the motor is less than an inch from the walls of the dirt canister. If you've used a shop vac&know how dirt packs to the filter, you may as well empty it on your floor&vac it all back up again. Putting the entire vac in the trash receptacle, then removing the top is the cleanest you can get with this. The hose doesn't unscrew; it slides between the top&bottom.
The side tabs that lock are very tight; so tight that one snapped off, so I couldn't send it back. If you want a REALLY good small shop vac, go with the All Around. It may *seem* expensive, but when you get this vac, you'll kick yourself. A dustbuster would be better/easier.
