What I like most is the ability to turn off the floor roller-brush: it turns off automatically when the vacuum is upright or when a second switch near the carpet height adjustment is pushed. You gain all the advantage of a canister in an upright, which is easier to maneuver. The vacuum strength is very good. The switch for floor or hose (attachments) is conveniently located near waist-height (the big yellow dial on the right). The machine feels solid but it is not heavy. Although it is not as quiet as some (e.g. Electrolux Oxygen), it is not annoyingly noisy, either (I don't hold conversations or listen to the radio while vacuuming, anyway). The long cord means you are not changing plugs all the time. The clear plastic cover on the roller makes it obvious if the roller-brush is on or off. The HEPA filter means the vented air is very clean. I got a rebuilt, which shipped with minimal packaging (yeah!) and looks fine but is missing the pet-hair/riser attachment (dispensable). Nothing can make vacuuming fun but this makes it not so bad.』

(Does the trick, but where to put it?) 『This little wine vacuum pump serves its intended purpose wonderfully, removing most of the air from a bottle of wine easily and effectively and delaying the infiltration of flavor-killing aerobic bacteria. In these hot summer months, it easily prolongs the usable life of a bottle of Cabernet stored at room temperature to a week or more after opening, instead of the 3-5 days that you'll get without using a pump between uses. I have never had a blender stick before, and am amazed at how powerful it is. In the past I have made giant messes blending cream of tomato soup in batches in the blender, and those days are over now that I have this tool. I noticed some reviewers mentioned trouble with ice cubes posing problems and lightweight bowls getting launched in the kitchen ... I can imagine how terrible that would be. I plan to use this tool in a heavy enameled iron dutch oven, and maybe for gravies occasionally. Perhaps a regular counter-top blender is better for icy drinks. (Use two) 『I'm using this filter in my wall hung shop vac.Because this vac is used to collect sawdust from my small band saw and belt sander, it clogs fairly quickly, but the system works well and is very compact. Over the past eight years or so that the vac has been used this way, I found that by using a piece of 1/4-20 allthread, a few nuts and washers I could fit two filters together into my shop vacuum. This provided a 100% increase in filtering and lets me extend the time between service cleaning the vacuum tank and filters. I order the filter four at a time which gets me free shipping from Amazon, so this works out to be a pretty good deal. Four filters will last me three years or more depending on use.

(Pretty good item, with a few down sides) 『Not a bad item, it actually worked very well. It certainly saves you space. And let's face it, that's the most important thing when you buy these. However, there are a few things that are not all that great; the cap meant to close the air lock when you turn off the vacuum stinks. There are a few seconds when air is certain to leak out because you need make a switch from vacuum tube to the cap. Even when you frantically twist on the cap as fast as you can, you are going to lose that tight vacuum seal. That could have been better, perhaps with a snap on cap for fast closure. Also, the sizing is fairly small and you can't fit much in the bag. It only occurred to me after the fact that no dimensions were disclosed in the description it just says "medium" and "large". In order to fit anything big, you'd probably need the XL size which is sold seperately. That aside, I'd probably get these again, they were much better quality than the brand you see sold at major stores.

Unfortunately, those retailers no longer carry the product as sales of the Floor Mate machine have dropped off, probably since everyone who wants one now has one. I personally have worn out 2 of them and think that they are great! I have indoor pets and like to know my floors are clean. So, my Floormates are used at least 3 times per week. I know the machine may take a little longer than plain mopping, since you go over the area once to scrub and another time to pick up the water, but If everyone could see the water that gets sucked up from the floor by that machine, they would never use a mop and bucket again!』

The manual instructs me to go to their web site to register, yet there is no registration link. I then emailed them 4 times at their customer service address asking about this, with no responses. I called them numerous times at their customer service 800 number, and I only can reach voice mail. I am not sure they are still in business; with this much trouble registering the product I am very concerned if I even actually need warranty work nobody will be there to assist. I cannot recommend this purchase.』

(Great Product... not perfect) 『Pros: Great looking, simple operation, easy to disassemble. Quiet when optimally cleaned. Customer service is friendly&helpful. One of two significant complaints that I see others have made is that it does not seem to moisturize the air. Well I can testify that it makes water disappear at a rate of 2 gallons per day; it's not leaking onto the floor so it must be evaporating. It helps with dry skin, breathing, sinuses, etc.
Cons: After 10 days, mine began to make a methodic clicking noise every 2 seconds. You won't notice it during the day, but when trying to fall asleep, it can be irritating. The clicking is caused by residue buildup on the gear mechanism. So be prepared to remove the mechanism&clean it at least every 10 days. For $300, the gear mechanism should be better designed. It is too tightly packed&has ZERO tolerance for any residue.
NOTE: The manual is vague about how to clean the gear. After removing it, you have to scrub the 2 teeth protruding from the mechanism with hot water&a brush. Spin the rubber grommet with your fingers to get each tooth to fully protrude. Always have the teeth pointing downward when cleaning so that debris does not fall into the mechanism.』

Most of the major inventions and inventors are introduced here, as well as some of the more exotic fringes of physics.
Bearden is one of the best science conceptualizers I have ever read. He has the ability to put the most complex extreme physics into terms which can be easily understood. He is far better than Isaac Asimov in this regard, and ranks up there with John Campbell, in my humble opinion. For example, in 2002 Bearden published a solution to the Source Charge problem, a mystery which has plagued electromagnetics for over 100 years, and is one of the ugly little secrets which mainstream science likes to pretend doesn't exist (because it casts the foundation of certain paradigms into serious doubt).
This is a weighty, scholarly tome of 951 pages, 100 of which are citations and references from the hard literature and other sources. (Roughly the same size/bulk as the 2009 Writer's Market.) There is also a 128 page annotated glossary. It is worth it just for the citations and glossary alone. It is also a very good book to study if you want to understand how science really works (as opposed to the fairy tales we are told in school). It is fascinating, deep, challenging, and eye-opening.
Bearden covers a wide range of topics, from the discoveries of various inventors to some pretty heavy physics. While he does discuss detractors (including assassination attempts), that is a minuscule part of the book, contrary to some ill-informed criticism.
Whether you accept the possibility of alternative views of physics or not, there is a great deal of solid information in this book. It will make you think a bit, if nothing else. (Yes, I know. Most people run screaming from the idea that they should actually use their head for something besides a hat rack. But, then, there are those 9 of you out there........)
I recommend this book to anyone who wants to understand what the whole New Energy thing is all about. This is the best introduction and all around guide to the subject in existence (outside of the Black Project world, that is.....).

I have a 20'x 4' intex pool and my yard is surrounded by trees. Well, you can imagine how bad it can get if the pool isn't covered and who has time to cover the pool every nighe or catch it before a storm comes. So I bought this vacuum and it picked up every leaf that was in my pool. It's very easy to use. Just keep in mind that if you have a lot of leaves in your pool in piles at the bottom of the pool, just tilt the vacuum on its side a couple of inches to get the leaves under the vacuum and in the suck zone. Rolling over the leaves won't always do the trick, sometimes it will just push them around the pull. As far as small pices of leaves and dirt go, it picked that up ok, but you should really use the smaller leaf vacuum for that which works just the same. This one is huge. Love it love it love it. Perfect for what I needed.』

(Frustrating - Not for real inground pools) 『I purchased this item thinking it would do a reasonably good job in my 44 foot by 20 foot in ground pool. This item is probably fine for smaller or above ground pools, but was very frustrating for a larger in ground pool. The net was very small and cheap feeling. The unit seems to be cheap plastic. It would not stay on the bottom of the pool and kept wanting to "float" to the top. The brushes fall out all the time, which makes them useless.
My advice is to buy a much more ruggedly designed one of these leaf vacuums from your local pool store, or online if you can find it. Get a bigger leaf bag in the unit, and make sure it has adequate weight to stay on the bottom of your pool and they wheels actually swivel properly. You will end up paying 2 to 3 times more for a quality leaf vacuum but at least you'll not be wasting your time with this "toy."』

I hate having to fool with two lids every time I want to open or close this bottle. The little cup is pretty well useless. The only use I could see for it is if you were using this thermos to carry mouthwash. As other reviewers note, it is handy for containing leaks if the lid isn't screwed down securely enough. But that's about it.
I bought a Nissan 18-oz hydration bottle Thermos Nissan Stainless Steel Hydration Bottle, 18-Ounce at the same time I bought the two insulated bottles. That is what I carry to work all the time now. I much prefer the hydration bottle because of the single-handed open/close to take a drink...handy when driving or working. I also like the fact that there is only one lid to unscrew to clean/refill it. Unfortunately, the hydration bottle is strictly for cold drinks.
But never fear, Nissan has a solution for me: the backpack bottle Thermos Nissan 16 Ounce Stainless Steel Backpack Bottle, Smoke Color...if you can find it in stock. It has the same advantages as the hydration bottle, AND works for hot drinks. I can take hot tea and cocoa to work again! Life is good!
In short, if you are thinking of getting this bottle, spend the extra money to get a Nissan's backpack bottle. The backpack bottle is by far easier to use and live with. I found some with a logo screened on them available for immediate shipment for less than $25/each. Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Leak-Drip problem solution) 『I am on my second one, having had a replacement from Stanley after the incessant dripping problem others have complained about with this 16 oz. drink bottle. The original was fine for about 6 months, same with the replacement, and then the annoying shirt staining dripping. After various efforts and experiments, I find that the thin rubber gasket is the problem. If it is removed (carefully so as not to damage) and cleaned the problem is resolved though only temporarily. Notice when you remove it, the gasket has spots of hardened coffee residue. A related issue some have identified (that I didn't notice) is a bitter off taste from inside the lid. Here is the solution. Before its first fill each day, but especially after you're done drinking, fill the mug with hot water. Open as for drinking, turn the mug upside down, and swirl the hot water out of it. You might also want to occasionally remove the gasket and clean gently with soapy water. But I am now back with my original mug (which I was not required to return), and it is not leaking or dripping. In all other respects, this is a terrific coffee mug that keeps coffee hot as well as the best thermos.
UPDATE: Alas! My solution turned out to be only temporary. These mugs have a mind of their own. So I took the following more drastic measures with my two mugs: (1) I sealed the top on one mug, leaving it in open-to-drink position, with Gorilla Glue. This means the mug is always open (entire top unit screws on and off, of course). That's a drawback, but it still keeps coffee hot for quite a long time. (2) In the second mug I filled in the rubber gasket cavity with Vasolene petroleum jelly. The occasional cleaning/recalking will be a little messy, but this mug no longer leaks. I don't notice any taste issue with either mug.』

I was able to break the inner parts when traveling in a vehicle with the top 1/2 of lid off. Cup fell over while in cup holder of car and smacked a plastic edge on the dash and the inner workings broke. My fault for not having the top 1/2 of lid on but shows you that simpler could be better. Absolutely will not leak (or break) when everything is tight. I have a friend who takes this to his work site (stone working) everyday for two years and it's still in perfect shape. (Unreliable) 『I purchased this bottle in July 09. The strange thing is that it seemed to work great at first. My coffee stayed hot for several hours. Then all of a sudden it was getting stone cold within an hour or two. I thought it might be my coffee maker, so I started microwaving my coffee then putting it in the thermos. This did not help. It doesn't really make sense why this happened, but hey, I'm no engineer. I wish I would have read the reviews first that talked about this. I wonder how many people have this same problem. I didn't have a problem with customer service, but then again I just contacted them, so I am awaiting my new bottle to arrive. The insulation still works good on my old one (grey), but the drink bottle mechanism on the cap doesn't work after a couple of drops. Email to customer service about replacing the broken part never gets replies. The second one (blue) easily gets scratch marks and has faulty insulation, and the outside of the bottle was getting hot like a previous reviewer mentioned. Stanley customer service will be sending a new one, but the representative was rude and unprofessional - initially saying that I need to return it to the store. Even giving the shipping address was a pain in the butt; I was having them send it to my work address and giving the business name (so it'd be easier to find). She says "well I could just have your name on it" in a rude tone. More satisfied with the old grey one than the new blue one. (High hopes dashed in the long term) 『At first this seemed like an ideal bottle for my morning commute coffee. I like the stremlined size with no akward bludges or rubbery protuberances like the Thermos Element 5 mug which I also have. I also got this bottle because I cannot have an open mug on my desk at work so the "Drink Through" lid was a major selling point to me. Insulation is adequate. Not great.
Satisfaction was short lived however. The "Drink Through" lid started to leak after less than a year. I contacted Stanley PMI customer service requesting replacement gaskets (there are two) and a short while later I received a complete new lid assembly. I couldn't really complain about this because I received it at no charge, part of the "lifetime warranty" aspect I suppose. But even this new lid started leaking in less than six months.
If the lid is going to leak in less than a year, the "lifetime warranty" really becomes a moot point. I'm simply not going to waste my time requsting lid after lid to see how far I can push it. I should point out the leakage comes in-use, ie: while I'm drinking! And this leads me to my key analysis of the shortcoming of this product.
The lid assembly is inordinately complex. It consists of four (4) plastic parts and two (2) gaskets. Thats six parts total for just the lid. And they all turn, twist, click, screw, rub, and seal (or not) together.
You will be disasseblng this lid offten if you really want to properly clean it, and after a few times you'll feel like a Marine field stripping an M16 rifle. After a while you may even be able to do it in the dark. Two of the inner lid parts screw together in such a way as to create a little chamber that unintentionally holds about a teaspoon of whatever drink you put in the bottle. The first few times I used the bottle I kept wondering why my coffee was getting worse tasting. Turns out this little "flavor capsule"(my name for it) was filled with rancid coffee from previous days. I had only washed the lid as an assembly and had not done my first "field strip and clean" of the weapon, I mean lid.
So basically you have to disasseble the whole lid and clean it every night. This is a major pain in the a**!
Then the leaks in-use started. Before you ask, no, I'm not a sloppy drinker. The multiple part, multiple gasket aspect of the "Drink Through" lid has simply not been properly engineered to last. It's too complex. Too many chances for the two gaskets to not seal just right. Too many parts. It's just a lid for Pete's sake! The leaks basically turn the lid into a high-tech version of a dribble glass.
I want to point out that when the lid is fully closed for transport it does not leak. Thank god. BUT a major selling point of this bottle is that you can drink through the lid without unscrewing the whole thing off the bottle. It was very convenient, while it lasted. Which was not long.
