However, when I tried to leave my name and number, the recording would say "mailbox is full". The drum base has to be completely taken apart including the screws and legs that are not made to be removed so you can't really put it back together easily. It's made to replace the base but unfortunately the arm they use to replace the base of the drum set wobbles and you have to move the Ottoman which they warn scratches the floor but has no handles to lift. It is a plain black cheap vinyl coating that isn't too ugly but its not attractive either so my wife was sort of OK with it it the game room. However my kids hated it as the drum stand is very awkward to sit next to and it takes too much time to assemble everything. Also the controllers cannot got inside because there is no hole to run power inside to keep them charged. (May require slight modification.) 『I had bought this set to repair various Nintendo products I own and it got the job done. However, there were a few minor problems using the tri-wing screwdriver. As many other reviews have mentioned that the screw driver is prone to rounding the screws. This is true because the tip of the driver is too narrow and sharp and it dose not fit snug with the screws. Lucky I found a "fix" to remedy this problem and prevent rounded(damaged) screws. Simply, just reduce the tip with a metal file. After carefully filing down the tip in very small increments , the tri-wing screw driver now fits properly and I am now able to use it properly without fear of rounding and screws. I really hope the manufacture will fix this problem in later batches.』
(Terrible Screwdrivers) 『Being factory made, the screws in the Wii are tight. These screwdrivers would good enough to get the looser screws out, but the screwdrivers began to strip as more force became necessary on tighter screws. I managed to get enough screws off to be able to forcibly remove (aka break) the metal frame for the Wii. I removed the objects that a child had inserted into the disc drive and screwed the plastic case back on without the metal frame. The frame isn't tight anymore.
I give 2 stars, which I consider being generous, because I managed to get some of the screws off, but I still had to break my frame to completely disassemble my Wii. Nintendo need to quit being greedy and making stupid design decisions. There is no reason that Nintendo products need a "tamper-proof" screw to hold it together. If Nintendo wants us to buy a special screwdriver just to fix their products, they could at least offer to sell us one built well enough to withstand actual use.』 『Stripping screws on small electronics is a big worry. With this set, there are 30 bits to work with and the hand grip allows for good control over the screwing movement. The bits are nicely stored in the box and are easy to remove and put back.』

I will still be very careful when using them, but they seem very hard and unlikely to strip.
As soon as I received the set, I used them to take apart a hard drive using the Torx bits. I'm glad I got a set instead of a single Torx driver, because the hard drive I took apart needed 2 different bit sizes. Using the bits and driver I had no problem getting the hard drive apart.
As a bonus (for me), the set of flat head and Phillips head bits are perfect for tightening those eyeglass hinges that get loose over time.

Good God don't disasters hit the non-tourist areas) 『The Core: 5 out of 10: Disaster movies always seem to do better when the disaster is local in scope. A city threatened by avalanche, a tower threatened by an inferno, a Poseidon threatened by an adventure, that kind of thing. Earth killer movies are always a harder road.
You have your 4 standard horseman of the earth disaster; nuclear war, space invaders, plagues (esp. those that create zombies), and meteors. Lately earth killing movies have gotten creative and lets face it stupid, global warming (The Day after Tomorrow), President George W Bush (Fahrenheit 911) and now The Core with it's well I'm still not sure what broke.
The core of the earth stopped spinning (not the earth itself mind you) which is causing the electromagnetic field to dissipate. Okay, that sounds serious. So that would cause what exactly? Apparently the movie wasn't all that sure so we get scenes of some the lamest and implausible disasters ever. Lets put two under the scientific microphone shall we.
One involves birds going all Hitchcock in London due to their inability to navigate using the magnetic field. Okay that may effect the birds ability to fly south (Oh my god the pigeons they're going east!), but even the Mr. Magoo of the avian world wouldn't start flying into statues and buses.
In another of the all too short montages of disaster a lightning storm destroys the Roman Coliseum. I'm not sure which are more unlikely, lighting striking relatively short rock structure, or the granite exploding when it does. Lightning, last time I checked, was attracted to metal.
But what would you expect from a movie that puts a giant windshield in a rock-drilling machine (Made with that magic metal Unobtainium). Keep in mind I've only scratched the surface of the silliness.
Acting wise Stanley Tucci is a joy, Hillary Swank still kind of looks like a guy, and everyone else is forgettable. The Core is enjoyable in that bad 50's sci-fi kind of way. But they needed more (and more plausible) disasters, and much less well everything else.』

An utterly terrible film about a bunch of astronauts and scientists who have to dive down to the core of the earth--which is in danger of ceasing to spin and thus destroying life as we know it through means that the audience never understands at all--The Core is awful on pretty much every level (writing, acting, sense-making, etc.) and is so stupid it almost (but not quite) comes around full circle and becomes smart again; however, the film manages to reach that fabled plateau of "so bad they're good" throughly enjoyable trash movies and you should definitely rent it if you want a laugh.

(Fun, but Riddled with Cliche) 『Core / B0000AKCKN

I tend to enjoy a good disaster movie, and I don't even mind the soft science that almost inevitably accompanies them - most truly exciting threats (like, say, the earth rapidly slowing its rotation) pretty much aren't plausible no matter how you slice it, so just make up some technobabble and I'll go with it.
"The Core" is fun enough for a first viewing, but usually what will keep me coming back is the characters in a disaster movie. Fun, interesting, and amusing characters are good; clichéd, annoying, irritating characters are not. Let's just get right down to the aspect that really turned me off to this movie, and that is Hillary Swank, or rather how this movie treats her. She starts off as a clichéd Renaissance Woman who can do anything and everything (one character even asks her if there's anything she can't do and she replies that there's nothing she knows of), including land spacecraft by eyesight (and mad math skills) on narrow, improvised landing strips. As part of her "character development" (and I use the term loosely) she walks up to newly invented and malfunctioning things and jiggles wires and - viola - they work. I would find this annoying enough, but what *really* gets on my nerves is that the movie thinks this is a bad thing, and a huge amount of time is spent beating her about the head for thinking she knows too much. I hate to pull the 'sexism' card, but compared to all the actual jerks in the movie who *don't* get a dressing-down talk, it's just flat-out irritating.
The other major thing that turns me off to "The Core" is that the characters die off so predictably that it feels like they have numbers on the backs of their jerseys. I realize that the Alpha Nerd and the Obligatory Girl have to survive to the end (it's Hollywood Law), but would it be so much to ask that the other characters not line up and take a number on the movie wheel-of-death? One death in particular is so ridiculous and unnecessary that the only "excuse" offered is that the laughably bad ship design was due to the rushed building period, which is particularly funny because you'd think with *every Nobel prize winner ever* on the job, SOMEONE would have pointed out the rather glaring design flaw. Then again, maybe the problem is that pesky "no Nobel prize for mathematicians" thing - oh, the delicious irony.
In all seriousness, I liked the plot of "The Core" just fine, I just wish that there'd been a bit more polish on the script and pacing. There are a lot of genuinely scary moments and a lot of really funny lines, and if they'd just shaken out the clichés and put a little more originality into the movie, I think it couldn't be very good - as it is, it's pretty much standard disaster movie fare with nothing to really stand out as unique or interesting.』
(Fun Movie) 『 This movie was panned by the critics which immediately gave it credibility as good entertainment. Critics don't care if a movie is fun for the audience - they only care if it was a challenge for the actors. Hilary Swank wasn't going to win another academy award for this move but it was 10 times the fun to watch this movie then the movie she did win one for. Great special effects, Action, comibined with a science fiction theme and a great supporting cast make this a fun flick. The only downer was a lack of solid romance and humor. Those two ingredients would have put this movie over the top. If you like action science fiction - this is the movie for you.』

(Netgear WNDR3700 router) 『Netgear got it right with this model. Adjustable power output, 802.11n final,gigabit wired ports. Speed is better than expected. Set up and adjustments are easy and each area of the setup has unique explanation/example/help section to guide you. I set up the router manually, but it looks like the setup CD will guide you through a normal setup with ease. Storing configuration changes is slower than expected and you must be patient (very), but changes become effective immediately. The guest account feature is valuable if you want to share your wireless with friends or clients. It protects your private network while allowing them access to the Internet. 』
(Perfect choice after a misfire with another product) 『I needed a high-speed wireless network for a heavy-use home office. This product splits my lower speed wireless printer which runs on 2.4ghz and my pc's running on 5ghz (otherwise, without Dualband, my pc's would have been reduced to the slowest common denominator speed).
The product was reasonably easy to setup, it did take a few passes through the installation software but nothing I haven't experienced before. Setup took a little over an hour. I've done multiple wireless routers from other manufacturers and have had to use their tech support. I did not with this one.
Also, it replaces a LinkSys product that I had for a month which kept needing to be reset/rebooted when the connection would drop...and even then the pc's would not pick up again. I have not had to do this a single time after running this Netgear product after for a month. This was my first Netgear purchase and I am now a fan.』
(Not Good) 『I had the WNR2000 and I wanted to upgrade to this POS hoping to get a better reception for my X Box wireless connection which I use for HD Streaming. My WNR 2000 was giving me Moderate Signal around 50-70% and this unit gave poor reception in the range of 20-40%. I tried just about everything, including updating the latest firmware, but still no luck with signal improvement. It is going back to store tomorrow. Not worth the money.』
(So far so good) 『Overall this has been a good router so far. The only problem I have had is with using the USB port for an external disk. Supposedly firmware 1.0.4.49NA fixed problems with this, but it appears that there are still problems in this area. The only stability problem I had was when I attached a drive (just to check it out) - the router would periodically hang. As I have a dedicated NAS, I just left the drive off. From published performance results in test reviews, I wouldn't plan on using this router as a NAS anyway. When a drive is not attached, I have not had a single stability problem in the month or so I have been running it - the only time it was down was one power outage that exceed my UPS backup time. The wired ports worked great, and as most of my boxes have gigabit ports, I have noticed the improved speed. The different colored port status lights allow you to see at a glance whether you are running at 100 or 1000. (I was able to visually identify one marginal cat 5 cable and replace it.) It is running behind a DSL modem in bridge mode - i.e., it does the PPoE login. No problems. I have DMZ set up to the NAS which runs a web server as well as a common file/backup server. External access through the DMZ is fine. Wireless has both 2.5 and 5GHZ set up. I have run with both WPA/TKIP and WPA2/AES (at different times) with no problem. I have not done any specific distance or speed tests with the wireless so I can't comment on that. Also, I have not extensively tested the QoS or UPnP functions. There appears to be work in progress to bring dd-wrt up on this box which would allow additional features (like VPN) - I wouldn't expect this to be available until mid 2010 at the earliest. However, the factory firmware appears to work fine unless you need the extra features. The price is a little expensive but you get both gigabit ports and simultaneous dual band wifi. All in all, I am glad that I spent the extra money to get this model. UPDATE: After experimenting with wireless range a little I can verify the many comments that 5G is poor. At about 50 feet and through 2 walls I get about twice the speed on G (at 2.5) as I do with N on 5G. (In the same room about 10 feet away, I get good throughput on 5G, however.) Really wanted the wires off the floor and wanted faster speed then wireless for Wii and streaming movies, music and You Tube to my entertainment center. The house was built in 1984 and is single story. The office where the router is and the entertainment center power are on different circuits.
From opening the box to up and running took 15 minutes and 10 minutes were in moving some furniture. There was no software to install, no configuration, it was truly plug and use. This product could not have preformed better. It was a little pricey, and there are cheaper ones out there, but this was worth every penny! Many of the less expensive ones had a greater percentage of dissatisfied customers and I needed all four ports this had for TV, Sound/Blue Ray, Wii, Videoconferencing.
Did not need to call Netgear about set up so I can't testify about their customer service. Also not sure of multiple floors, but it definitely crossed circuit breakers in the electrical panel. Distance from plug in office and entertainment center is 40'.』

(Solid speeds works great for streaming video) 『I chose this unit to hook up my new LG BD-390 Blu-ray player to the Internet. I considered wireless n, but the location of my player was so far from my wireless router that I was concerned I wouldn't get the performance that I wanted for streaming video over the internet. I followed the instructions for setting up the unit. You can encrypt the signal, but since I live in a single family home there was no reason to. Set-up was a breeze and I had internet connectivity to my Sony Bravia KDL-46XBR8 and LG BD-390 Blu-ray player just by connecting the ethernet cables and turning them on.
I have mainly used the connection for streaming Netflix movies over the internet. I am very pleased with the results. The clarity of the images is even better than on my computer. I can only attribute this to the better graphics performance of the LG player and Sony HDTV compared to my computer, since the streaming speed at the computer has to be greater than at the LG player connected to Netgear, but it does say that the ethernet speed of the Netgear unit is sufficient to not degrade the quality of the image. There was only one time when the LG unit's Netflix streaming indicated less than full quality (both the Netflix application on the computer and on the LG player do a line speed quality check before they begin streaming). But after playing the movie for a few minutes, the LG automatically detected a change in quality in the streaming speed and increased the performance back to maximal image quality. I'm not sure what drove the performance down. There must have been some electrical interference from some device connected to my power line. If I see it happen again, I'll try and isolate the source of the problem and will update this review.
If you are concerned about using wireless to connect your home theater components, I would highly recommend this alternative. The assurance of being able to drive high speed ethernet to any part of the house is well worth the price of the unit.

(A Little Fuss, but worth it) 『When I couldn't get a D-Link Wireless Bridge to work right, and could get no support for it, I looked around for alternatives. I admit I was completely sceptical about these Powerline adapters but, after a little digging, discovered that there is a standards organization for them whose goal is to insure that all the Powerline devices are compatible. Netgear is part of this standards coalition, so that fact, combined with reading all the positive reviews here on Amazon, led me to take a chance on them.
After a bit of trial-and-error confusion about compatibility with my network's WPA security, and no clear answers to be found, I ended up setting up both parts of the Netgear kit as if I didn't have WPA security on my network, i.e. I just used the passwords supplied on the Netgear equipment.
Once I did that, it all just worked! It should be noted that I have a red (slowest) connection light- probably due to our whole-house surge protector- but I have had absolutely NO problems connecting my Sony TV or my Panasonic Blu-Ray player to the internet. NONE! And I've already streamed some videos with no problems!
Isn't it great when a product works as promised? I gave this 5 stars for the end-result, but really it should be 4.5 stars because of the confusing security setup and lack of comprehensive support. 』 『Item #: BC4724. The graphics are cute, the concept is great, and she thoroughly enjoyed the game. However, this game is very linear (go here, play this...then go here, play that) with a singular mission of planning a party.
She completed the game in 6-8 hours, max. She played the same game again with a second sign-in and completed it in about 3 hours. She is completely finished with the game and has no interest in it anymore.
We are pretty disappointed that there wasn't more to this game; she kept asking if there were any more parties should could plan. Not a bad idea...wish the developers of the game would have thought of that!』

The graphics are cute, the idea (the pets throwing a surprise party for a new friend's arrival) is a good one. The scenery and games are also fun for my daughter.
While the previous Pet Shop game was mostly wandering around and playing games, this one is more task oriented. I am curious as to what lies behind the surprise party, because it will be anti-climactic if that is the end of it all. However, by then, maybe all this silly conversation will die down and more game playing will happen.
I would rather the pets talk themselves than to have a lot of reading to do. If they would like to pretend that it is helping my child read, the speech would not be as goofy and the words would be less 'cutesy'.

Of course if they get stomped on a concrete floor - that's a different story. 2. My kids really like the variety - 4 different armys in one container. 3. Kids interest - My 3 1/2-year old girl isn't interested. She likes Barbie. My 3 boys (ages 3 1/2, 5, and 10) play with these toys a lot. The 3 1/2 and 5 year old boys play (literally!) for hours setting up battles. My 10-year old boy will even steal a few every now and then for a skirmish here and there. 4. (Need to be able to read for independent play) 『I bought this game as a gift for my 2 girls (ages 4 and 6) and they seem to love it. The animation is very cute and they love being able to dress up their pets.
However, there are soooo many boxes that pop up giving instructions, so if your child cannot read, this would NOT be a game they could play themselves. I sat down and played with my 4 year old and read her the instructions as they popped up, but even then, there were so many boxes and "thought bubbles" to click on to get where you are supposed to go and buy what you are supposed to buy, I can see how it could be very confusing!

I had purchased the book specifically to gain knowledge about the Arduino language and its nuances, and here I was being "force fed" more languages! After reading the first Chapter or two, I laid it aside for a couple of weeks, hoping to sell it on e-bay or something. I picked it up again, thumbed to some random location in the middle of the book and found that I was "hooked". I downloaded the Processing language Development Environment as suggested in the book, found it was virtually identical to the Arduino language (from which it was derived), and was delighted that the book delved very nicely into the "nuances" that I had been looking for. I have little interest in OpenFrameWorks language, but this book gives me everything I hoped for related to Arduino and Processing. It is thorough, simple when it needs to be simple, and more in-depth when appropriate. I recommend this book to anyone who has a desire to become proficient in the programming environment used by Arduino. (BTW...if you don't know what an Arduino is, you probably should NOT by this book!)』

If you just bought an Arduino, or have any other reason to understand and use a computer language this should be your first purchased. More than any of that (and that would be enough) this text is readable, enjoyable. I would reread this book just because I enjoyed the author's style of writing.
This book also offers you a bonus, this might scare off some that read other reviews or the book description: you will learn three languages simultaneously. This would seem like an impossible task for most folks intimidated by learning just one language, but the author demonstrates quickly how natural it is to learn all three side by side. What a boon to your knowledge base!

There is a lot of info in the book to help shortcut the learning process and answer many questions that arise over the course of gameplay. It informs you of the best racing lines and most of the shortcuts available in the game, although I find the maps confusing to read. The descriptions of different areas of a track aren't always in order and tips are sometimes awkwardly described.
The characters and vehicles are described fairly well, but I find the descriptions of some of the play modes and gameplay actions are too brief. I don't mind figuring things out on my own, but when I purchase a guide, I expect more detail of all aspects of the game - not just some of them. For example, Mirror Mode is not really well defined in the book and one is left guessing what it is until you actually unlock it and see for yourself. Same thing applies to 'Retro' cups - it's often referred to, but not well defined.
Although there is a list of unlockable characters and vehicles in the back of the book, there should be more detail and emphasis on them since it's such an important part of the game. They're presented as more of an afterthought than an integral aspect of the game. Another thing I'd like to see is some form of an index.』

What i liked about this game is that if you bump into stuff, or miss a jump, the horse doesn't completely collapse. I also like the tasks and the theme of the game (camp recovering from storm and you help people). The tasks never got boring for me, and it shows you where you need to go to do what in each task. It shows ou wher the items you need to find are, and where to go next. I also like how it doesn't make you do tasks. THere are different competitions you can enter (against yourself :/) and you can earn ribbons and camp credits from them. ribbons allow you to unlock different horses.
The things im not crazy about in this game are that after the graduation, ther are no more tasks and you can't do much to earn camp credits. You also only have 5 horses and there isnt much that you can do to take care of and interact with them (though this makes it easier about the grooming obsession most games have.) I also wish that you could interact with other campers besides teresa (teresa doesn't do much anyway).
Overll this is an excellent game and i would suggest it to all horse game lovers.』

She needs some help with the game, but even so she loves it and the realistic horse views. It plays OK on my computer, with an occasional crash. For myself as a grown-up struggling with physical disability, I find this game extremely fun and relaxing, and I often play it after everyone goes to bed. I love riding the horse along the beach, and the scenery, sunsets, and stars at night are beautiful. If you want to stay out all night (in game time), looking at the sunset and stars, just don't answer the cell phone with Kyle calling. It is amazing how diverse the island is. We love going over to the waterfall, and riding down below it, following the river out to the ocean. There is just so much to do besides the challenges and tasks. We like that we can each have our own game and progress within the game saved.
The directions are too brief, and I had to figure a lot of things out through trial and error. My 5-year old, however, helped me with the jumps, using the space bar. I have expensive Wild Divine games, which were my favorite, but this game is almost as nice at little cost. I love the freedom in traveling and exploring the island. It's a great game for a horse-crazy girl and an island-loving woman with freedom of exploration. It reminds me of the San Juan Islands outside Washington state.』
