Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Good hardware, lousy user interface, and tip on getting Port Forwarding to work) 『The hardware is good, but the web user interface is confusing. The printed manual is worthless, and Planex web site is as unhelpful. I could setup my wireless network with relative ease, but when I tried to configure port forwarding, I hit a wall. After a fruitless day wrestling with the box, I wrote Planex customer support for help. I got a response within the week, which is decent, considering that I had expected no response at all. Unfortunately the rep could not solve my problem.
I finally figure it out: to get port forwarding to work, you need to check the box "Change MAC address enable" under Network/WAN Setup/DHCP. The box has 2 MAC addresses: one for the Wi-Fi side, and another one for the WAN side. You need to clone the WAN MAC address to the Wi-Fi side.
Once I get over the mad user interface, I find that this wireless router is quite good. It is hard to beat the $60 price for a 3 by 3 802.11n wireless router like this one. The wireless connection is solid; I have not suffered any stability issues. I used to get a weak signal (30%) in my living room using my old Netgear 802.11g router, but with this one I get a strong signal (85%).』
(Great hardware, poor firmware) 『I bought this to replace my seasoned WRT54GL. I don't own other wireless-N devices yet but thought to start gradually upgrading with this. What a mistake. The hardware specs sound impressive: 400 MHz CPU, plenty of flash and RAM, Linux 2.6-based. But that doesn't count for much when the firmware is not up to the job, and yes, I used the latest version from the vendor. After spending days getting even the most simplistic setups to work I have given up for now. One time I had a wireless network running but the bits seemed to be hand-carried by little flying monkeys, it was that slow: Compliments of the "40 Mhz bandwidth" option - use 20 MHz instead and the wireless becomes stable and reasonably fast. No explanation for these options anywhere. There are many other trial-and-error options that you have to play with to get somewhat satisfactory results. In the end I had a wireless-G (only) network running that worked ok for web browsing, but anything else was flaky, even on those machines connected to the LAN, not using wireless: Inexplicable delays when accessing shared folders, failures sending larger emails with attachments, extremely slow SSH sessions to remote servers with frequent session breakups, Jabber clients losing their connections, and the list goes on and on. Again: A very simple setup using none of the "fancy" functions such as bittorrent, NAS via USB or multiple virtual wireless networks. All of the unstable implementation comes on top of a web interface that is so bad it hurts. One example: After you entered your long list of DHCP static leases and firewall rules using 192.168.1.x addresses, guess what happens if you want to switch your network to use 192.168.100.x? Right, delete all entries one-by-one, changing the setup for LAN and DHCP, then re-enter all rules. Oh, and the WINS server, too. Just painful and it would be so easy to add some sanity to the interface.
Conclusion: It's back to the old-but-stable WRT54GL for me. This router looks good on the shelf and will stay there until there is a usable firmware available. I would prefer DD-WRT but might look into OpenWRT and use this for training.』
(Excellent Atheros-based N router, great internals) 『Wow, these outer reviews really slam this router - but I suspect it must be software (firmware) issues. This is a Linux 2.6 based router.
I'm not your typical user, I own 8 other N routers that I'm using for a Linux development project (OpenWRT testing). Planex/PCI did a great job implementing their circuit board (clean and tidy) and the website configuration interface. As soon as I got the router, I flashed it with the Jan. 2, 2009 firmware on the Planex website.
I can't say enough positive about the technicals of this router for the $60 price. It supports WDS out of the box, few N routers allow this. It has an Atheros ar9103 chip which is 3x3 MIMO. I tried a 8GB Kingston flash memory stick in the USB port mounted and worked the first time. It even has a way to view the Linux console log from the web pages.
Hardware wise: 32MB of RAM, 400Mhz CPU, 8MB of flash for firmware, easily soldered in rs232 serial port, USB port standard. Anyone looking to hack on the Atheros AP81 router platform for Linux should be impressed with the job that Planex did with the hardware.
OpenWRT now working!』
(Good idea but poor implementation) 『I read reviews of this product on multiple sites. Although I read many reviews about the complexity of configuring and Planex poor customer service, no problem I said. Having EE degree with 10+ years of IT experience and hardware, software design, this should be a breeze. Because the idea of a NAS + Itunes server + 802.11N access point was great. Get apple product without paying apple prices... I guess I was wrong. I purchased this product to replace my existing wireless access point at home. The reason my wireless router is programmed as access point is that the DSL coming home already has a router. It turns out it does not operate as NAS + access point. Then I decided that I should install it as a secondary Wireless access point. Guess again. This time it did not operate properly because the secondary port was not a public address. Sadly, currently it is waiting for a fix or software upgrade from Planex to get operating. 』
(Save yourself the headache and money.) 『Save yourself the hassle. the product [[ASIN:ASIN product-title]] is one that I wish I never purchased. I;m a professional internet engineer (certified by NUMEROUS companies). All I can say is that this particular router is garbage (exchanged/returned it once thinking it was just a bad item),
I love/own numerous PLANEX/PCI items and this item is uncharacteristically a dog! I am literally throwing it away!! (maybe I'll take it out to target practice! I am NOT kidding. It's that bad.)』 『MZK-W04NU is a multi-function device which provides shared broadband Internet access for all LAN users and 4-Ports switching hub for 10/100 Base-T connections.

Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Alternative to Sanyo 2700 mah nimh cells) 『Yuasa has been known for their high quality sealed lead acid (SLA) rechargable 12 vdc cells used in alarm systems. With the difficulty of getting the sanyo cells I tried a pack of these at the local frys electronics.
Pros: a good source of amazon prime 2700 nimh cells. Kept in the charger they are equally ready to go. capacity ranges from 2650 to 2700 mah. I charged at 200 ma to prevent heating of the cell during charge phase.
As usual it is important to break in properly 3 charges at new followed by 3 drains to wake up the cells from factory new. Capacity comes up from 2500 to 2700 during this breakin which is normmal
They deliver a higher current than alkaline or eneloop which is great for flashes and cameras run on aa's. Also they fit the tolerances of a standard aa cell very well.

『Great game. Compuer PC Video Game. All-time classic. Windows 95 version.
I play console games. That's right. I've said it. Despite having been a PC reviewer for SEVERAL years, I do occasionally sneak over to a console machine just to take a peek at how the other half lives. And, usually, I'm I AM VERY impressed. The one one of the best would have to be HudsonSoft's release of Super Bomberman 2 for the Super Nintendo. Throughout the years, this one simple game has been the pinnacle of what all games should aspire to be - simple to learn, requiring very little in the way of flashy graphics or spectacular sound, and delivering great gameplay and multiplayer competition. I was overwhelmed with excitement when I first heard that a PC version was on its way. The game just did live up to my expectations.Like its console predecessors, Interplay's Atomic Bomberman is pleasingly simple. You control one of several different colored bombers from an overhead perspective. By clicking your button (the game can be fully customized so this can be any button that suits you) you drop lit bombs that explode after a few seconds. Using these bombs, you must destroy all of your opponents. That's it (well, there's a little more to it, but that's basically it). By collecting icons that are hidden within the walls you can arm your bomber with power-ups, such as additional bombs, more powerful bombs, acceleration, the ability to kick bombs (good for getting out of a tight pinch), and the ability to throw bombs. All in all, if you are a new player you can expect to spend at most five minutes learning how to play. But as you play you'll learn tricks and acquire skills that will improve your game.』 タイトル『 Super Mario Galaxy Instructions Manual Booklet (INSTRUCTIONS MANUAL ONLY)(VIDEO GAME IS NOT INCLUDED) (SUPER MARIO GALAXY Instructions manual booklet (VIDEO GAME IS SOLD SEPERATELY), SUPER MARIO GALAXY Instructions manual booklet (THIS IS NOT A BOOK)(ONLY ORIGINAL MANUAL)) >

There are many game options to choose from, the controls are easy to learn and the graphics are very good. My only complaint is that the font size when viewing team stats, etc is too small for me to see. If you like hockey games, this is a good choice for the Wii.』
(Hey I thought it was good) 『This was my first time getting any nhl game for the wii and i was pleasantly surprised. I thought the controls were going to be akward and difficult but actually they were just the oppisite. skating and shooting were both easy and very fun, not to mention the fights, i loved every minute of it. Sometimes i would purposly do a low blow or high sticking to get into fights, what the heck, its what hockey is about. the graphics are good and superstar mode is amazing. All and all its a great game』
(From a long time hockey gamer) 『Now I've ben playing video hockey games since hat trick for the atari 7800 so I've played a lot of hockey games in my time and in my option this one's pretty good overall. First off the graphics on the game are actually pretty good considering it's on the Wii. I mean after seeing the screen shots I agreed with most people that this looked like a psp game at best, but once I played the game it looked a lot more polished then I was expecting. (The only reason anyone might think it would look bad its because they're comparing it to the HD versions but I'm reviewing the game with the thought that you only have a Wii) As for the rest of the game the sound effects are pretty good and the music is ok though your opinion on this may differ based on your musical tastes. As for the game's control I played the game without the motion plus attachment but I found the game's control pretty good overall as my only gripe with it is the checking motion in the game as sometimes it checks and sometime it poke checks but it wasn't that bad. I also didn't look to see if you could change it in the options so that might not be a gripe. Sadly I didn't get a chance to play the game online so I can't comment on the quality of that. Overall though I found the game to a very good hockey game and easily the best hockey game on the Wii. The only thing I would recommend changing for people who play it is to change the game's speed setting since the default setting seems a bit slow to me for a hockey game. Other than that though I didn't have any things I would change about the game.』
(Ignore the first 2 reviews, this is a very good game) 『Ignore the first two reviews. This game is getting MUCH better reviews everywhere else. CNET rated it excellent (4 out of 5 stars [...]), Gamespot gave it an 8.5 out of 10 (can't post more links right now), and IGN said it is "Impressive" and gave it an 8 out of 10.
Some comments from IGN: 8.0 Gameplay The core game of hockey is a bit touch-and-go, but once you get the hang of it and start messing with sliders its fun. MotionPlus rocks, even in its preliminary state. More please. 8.5 Lasting Appeal There's a near-endless amount of modes. If you can get into the core game, 2K10 is one of the largest feature sets in any Wii product. Online is spotty, but case-by-case.
If you like Wii games this is money well spent. If you prefer 360/PS3, get EA NHL 2010. I play on all three consoles, and this is my current hockey game.』
(Meh. Maybe my expectations were a little too high?) 『Each of the past two years, I've bought EA's NHL release for the X-box 360 (NHL 2008 and NHL 2009). While both games had a few drawbacks, they were both a lot of fun to play -- alone, with friends, and online. By comparison, 2K10 for the Wii is pretty terrible.
The Wii isn't an HD console, so it wouldn't really be fair to compare the graphics of this game on the Wii to the graphics of NHL 2009 on the 360; but after playing NHL 2009 on the 360, 2K10 on the Wii is just painful to look at. (I was expecting it to be worse, but I was shocked by how bad they were.)
While I was expecting inferior graphics, I was also expecting the Wiimote-based controls make up for it. Unfortunately, they haven't. (Even with the Wii MotionPlus adapter.) Maybe it just takes more than a few games to get used to, but even something as simple as passing the puck can be an infuriating process. (The act of passing isn't difficult, but the act of passing to the player you want to pass to is quite a feat!)
Shooting -- an essential part of the game, mind you -- is also frustrating. You really do have to take a full swing to get decent power on a slapshot. That's great, in theory, but with the nunchuck tethered to the Wiimote, it's tough to get a full swing without getting tangled in the wire. (Maybe someone with a lesser arm-span doesn't have that problem, but at 6'2", I've found myself running into that problem frequently.) This could probably be corrected with a wireless nunchuck, but I don't really want to fork over more money for more accessories -- especially accessories that duplicate the features of accessories I already have -- just to play one game.
The motion-based controls DO make the game more fun, when they work the way you expect them to. Unfortunately, it takes a lot of getting used to; and even when you feel comfortable, you'll still find yourself wondering what just happened on several occasions per period.
You could play with a classic controller, but at that point, you may as well be playing on a graphically-superior console.』 『NHL 2K10 redefines the sports gaming experience with a new emphasis on social gaming. Whether you're a die-hard NHL fan or a casual player, NHL 2K10's pick-up-and-play controls, true-to-life authenticity and variety of on- and off-line multiplayer modes promise hours of entertainment for any gamer.』 『

When I succeeded, you were deliriously happy. When I failed, you got a little angry but you said that you'd help fix everything. It was out of the love of our previous relationship that I decided to continue under your tutelage again.
Now it just seems like our relationship has worn thin. Rather than encouraging me when I fail you now mumble untelligible statments towards me. I can't make it out entirely, but when you say "You're none of mine"&something about hitting me, a part of me dies inside&wonders if this is really healthy behavior towards me&my siblings. And I do fail more often now because the daggone utensils are so much harder to work than they were in the past. Maybe it's just the system keeping us down, but somehow I can't help but wonder if it's you. Did Father treat you badly this go round?
Yet when I do my work perfectly, you praise me... except for those times you jumped out at me in strange garb&makeup, shouting something in a language I just don't understand. Didn't I do good, Mama? Why do you have to frighten me so?
And then there's those foreign exchange students you keep introducing me to. It was a bit hard to figure out exactly where I was in the game, but eventually I figured it out. They weren't the brightest bricks in the bunch, so it was occasionally easy to best them.
I guess in the end, Mama... I still love you, despite your shortcomings. I'll continue to come back home every time I can&I'll buy everything you recommend that I do. It's not as good as it was in our old digs, but it's still fun for me. Maybe it won't be as fun for the other kids out there, but I think that most will still enjoy visiting you every once in a while.』
(very nice) 『this game is very nice, my litle uncle are hapinees because can ply cooking mama』
(Good game for young kids and parents) 『We bought this game for my daughter (3) and son (5) for Christmas last year. They really like it and are able to play along. There is some precision that is required. It's a little boring for the adults; however, fun to watch the kids play.』
(Lame!!!) 『What a snoozer. Its the same repeative motions throughout the game. You peel a couple of vegetables, then chop them, then fry them with a shake of the Wiimote. And for the challenge segment you touch the salt shaker, wait a few seconds, twist the Wiimote, wait a few seconds, turn the Wiimote, wait a few seconds, click on a leek, wait a few seconds, twist the Wiimote...I think you get the idea.
On a scale of 0 = terrible and 100 = greatest game ever: as a game its a 10 (out of 100), as a cooking tutorial its an 11 (out of 100). The music is the same rehash garbage from every other cutesy Japanese game. But what astounds me is Cooking Mama's voice sounds a Japanese girl trying to speak English with a German accent. It amazes me how well she pulls that sound off, I sure hope it was intentional.
When I say pass on this game, I mean pass it through the window into the outside garbage can. It will stink up your kitchen if you throw it away inside.』

(Fun for All Ages) 『When I first received this game as a Christmas present I thought it would be entertaining for a while and that eventually I would lose interest. That's the farthest thing from what's happened. Not only do I continue to play it repeatedly but now my son (almost 4 yrs old) is playing with me and it's a lot of fun for both of us.
The extra games, such as pitch perfect is a little boring for me, but the harmony bells are probably one of my favorites!
The backgrounds could be a little more exciting and watching through an entire video can be boring (which where were a fast forward), but overall, this is a really fun game for any age and it's something that you can play alone or have fun with a group.』
(Not for musicians) 『I bought this game because it was advertised for letting users be creative to create their own music. However, you cannot compose music via notes. Instead, it picks the notes for you based on your movement which is not reproducible (or maybe there's some secret to doing this). It's a gimmick like all the other music games and can be a cheap trill for a limited time. Compared to other music games and other Wii titles, I feel the content in this game is also very limited.
The ear training part is nice though.』
(Wii Music) 『Unlike popular music games such as Guitar Hero or Rockband, Wii-music is not competitive in nature and is more creative-based. Instead, wii-music is based more around music education, showing you different musical styles and encouraging the player to experiment with them.
Also, the game features three minigames that ARE competitve and are scored. Mii Maestro puts you in the positon of an orchestra conductor, in which you are scored based on your ability to hold the tempo and conduct at the right emotions and intensity. Handbell Harmony is sort of guitar-hero esque in that it gives you a specific part to play and you must hit the right note at the right time (which is as close as the player will come to being a "real" musician.) Pitch Perfect trains your ears- you are given a sample tone and three other tones and must match the pitch. Also, you are shown a band and are asked to identify which person is playing an incorrect note.
I will say that the game is geared toward non-musicians, leading to the fact that you don't need musical experience to play (in fact, if you DO have musical experience, you will probably find it boring). Musicians will also have the ability to detect certain points in which the game strays from musical protocol-for example, in Mii Maestro, you must wave your arm up in down in a relatively straight line for the signal to register. If you were to have a distinct downbeat and pattern (all of the songs for Maestro are in 4/4) like a REAL conductor, the signal will stray from the sensor strip, and the band will stop playing and give the "what are you doing"? look directly at the screen.
All in all, I would recommend this to someone who wants to learn more about music, or has kids that want to start taking lessons. Its a good thing for developing a sense of timing. If you are an accomplished musician, however, you should pass it up. Instead, Practice Practice Practice.』
(wee music) 『purchased this for my grandson but felt it was cumbersome to use.....unlike other wii games which you can instantly enjoy......tedious to play』 『When it comes to music and rhythm games,Wii Musicstands in a class of its own. Unlike other music games, which penalize players if they don't play perfectly,Wii Musicis a musical playground where there are no mistakes. Here anyone can pick up and master the huge array of instruments available, through simple motions like strumming and drumming. Tutes: Your Own Private Back-up Band When not playing with friends, you can invite jam masters known as Tutes to play with you. They'll join a session playing an instrument that each thinks is strong for a specific song. You can simply enjoy the musical camaraderie, or pick up instrument tips by watching them jam. If you choose to watch, the Tutes will show you lots of techniques for many of these instruments, then ask you to follow their examples. They'll start with the simplest techniques, then as you master each one, show you even more nuanced ones.Key Game Features:

Mii Maestro: By waving the Wii Remote like a conductor's baton in this mini-game, you'll lead a Mii orchestra through orchestrated songs, such as TheLegend of Zeldatheme. Make them play quickly, slowly, strongly or gently-the orchestra is at your command.
