(See below) 『XArcade Solo 2010 will be my 7th year in ownership of my X-Arcade Solo. The stick is built to last forever. XGaming uses parts that are similar to authentic American arcade parts. However, the experienced 2D fighting games can tell the difference. That's not to say that the X-arcade parts are bad, they're just not as responsive as the Happ competition parts. The X-arcade in it's stock form is the perfect platform for those looking to transition from gamepad to arcade-stick. Their customer support is awesome and you get a lifetime warranty.
When I first bought my Xarcade 6 yrs ago, the adapters for the PS2 and Dreamcast were not suitable for competitive play because you experienced missed inputs and latency on button presses. However, 6 years later they offer PS2 and Dreamcast adapters that provide excellent response and zero lag. I have yet to try the PS3 adapter. The X comes with a PC connection, but you have to purchase console adapters separately
The Xarcade works best when used as a keyboard, no input lag and no missed inputs. You plug the X into your pc Ps/2 port and plug your keyboard into the back of the X. Some motherboards will not accept the X as a dummy keyboard so you may have to purchase the USB adapter. The USB adapter is great but some may experience missed inputs. It requires USB 2.0 ports to to work.
If you are a beginner and are transitioning from gamepad to joystick, then the Xarcade is a perfect fit. When you become an expert gamer, you must visit the Happcontrols site and purchase a Competition joystick and convex Competition buttons to match the true arcade feel. You can easily swap these components in the Xarcade by unscrewing the bottom panel of the X-arcade. The parts swap out easily with the help of a phillips screwdriver.

(For the feel of the arcade, without the cabinet) 『I bought this because I always wanted an arcade in my house. I really wanted to build a whole cabinet, but that just wasn't an option. So while browsing at Fry's, the X-Game X-Arcade became my controller of choice. I also purchased the connector for the GameCube.
Features: So many buttons, so little time. There are enough buttons for just about any game you can think of. There are also dedicated 1-player and 2-player buttons. Are you a fan of pinball? Yip the buttons for that are on there as well.
Constructions: This if very durable. While I haven't dropped it (yet), I am pretty sure it could take a drop off a small coffee table and be none the worse for wear. But please, don't try that on my account. The downside is that the unit is heavy and can be difficult to store.
Joysticks: The joysticks feel and respond just like in the arcade. For games like Smash TV the dual joysticks are a must!
Hardware: The ad says "No additional hardware required". Well, that depends on what you want to use it with. Make sure you do your research and that the appropriate adapter is available.

(Contrary to popular belief--there is no lag.) 『This is a great product for those unwilling to invest triple its price, but still wanting to replicate the arcade experience. Given that pretty much any 300 dollar Netbook running XP can run Mame, this thing = instant-arcade, complete with easily programmable buttons via a PS/2-connected Keyboard and 4 memory locations for key assignments.
Many of the complaints directed at this product are those directed at its PS2 adapter. While this may have been a problem with older revisions of the adapter hardware, I can say, without a doubt, that it has been adressed. The PS2 adaptor is how it always was--you plug the serial-male into the serial-female in the back of the X-arcade, then connect the 2 PS-style controller inputs at the front to the PS2. If you want to use a PS3, 2 incredibly high-quality PS3 ->PS2/PS2 mem-card adapters are included, which plug into the PS3's USB ports and can be set via the PS menu easily.
I set up my PC, using assorted programs (Joy2Mouse to convert the PS3 signal to a PC-friendly mouse-button click), to test the lag using all assorted adapters. All adapters tested had a delay of less than 7 milliseconds, which is about half the time a frame spends onscreen in a 60fps game. Check this link: [...]which inspired me to do the above test (and basically lays out exactly how to do it including program names) The feedback is realtime given the new equipment.
The button layout is the only thing I'm not huge on--that and, upon original shipment, my 2p joystick "stuck" when the Right direction was toggled. It was easily fixed upon adjusting the throw (which is easily done by unscrewing all 4 feet, complete with intuitively layed-out innards, labels, and quick-disconnects for modding fun. The buttons have a little too much space between them, not to mention the layout is:

which is a little tiring to the fingers when maintaining the arcade 3-button position. Still, by using the following buttons:

it's a little more comfortable for long periods of time (3 button only, obviously). Still, Streetfighter 4 plays beautifully with it, as does Soul Cal 4, Soul Cal 2 for PS2 and Gamecube, and all emulated Gameboy Advance games through Gamecube/Wii VC games/Sonic Mega collection...the list goes on, and the X-Arcade has breathed new life into all my old games. I'm playing through Final Fantasy 7 with it just for the fun of it!
And no, you aren't as close to your partner while playing as some reviews might let you believe...you definitely have to know the person, but it's not like you'll be making physical contact the whole time you're playing...if you're sitting next to each other on a couch and the X-arc is on a table in front of you, you'll have plenty of room.

(Good for classics, horrible for fighting games.) 『If you're looking for a good, classic mame/arcade stick, this is for you. It's nice construction, sturdy, and will get the job done.
That is, until you need some finesse with your stick. In my PS3 the X-Arcade single lags horribly. Why? Because the adapter is a PS2 adapter that plugs into a PS3 adapter! What a horrible idea. It causes terrible lag to the point that the only way you're going to win is predicting the future.
For classic games, it won't be a problem. If your idea is MAME, that is. But if you want to go with fighting games, put down your money on the 79 dollar Street Fighter IV fight stick instead (automatically works with PCs as well as consoles, whether for PS3 or Xbox360).
Save your money.

I was a little hesitant about buying this one, based on the iffy reviews and the apparent changes in play, but I talked to the kids about it, and they decided to go ahead and buy it with their combined holiday money.
As they say, "We really, really like it!" They love the added gameplay options, like Indy's whip being able to grab people, and they like the vehicle driving levels better. They did mention, when I asked, that they don't love trying to "find" the next level, but they also said, in that great 8-going-on-16 voice, "We'll figure it out, Mom - we always do." ;)
And, they're right. They have made plenty of progress in 2-3 days, and they aren't playing anything else. Even when we first picked up Lego Batman, they were having a hard time figuring it out and kind of abandoned it for a few months, finally coming back and then getting it. This doesn't seem to be causing the frustration that I feared, or that Batman created at first.
I've not played it yet (I played through Star Wars and the first Indy to be able to help them), but I think that from what they've said, I'll actually like it a lot. I prefer the puzzles and strategy stuff of the first Indy over the more basic "shoot everything in sight" in the Star Wars, so the puzzle aspect appeals to me.
So, even with the changes, they say it's the best Lego game yet. Don't be afraid to try it if you liked the others!』

This is a disappointing title overall and I can't imagine buying it for children.
In all fairness though, can't really comment on many of the games besides Yahtzee. We tried Sorry Sliders and the game just seems random though overall it worked OK.
The only good part of this title is the host: Mr. Potato head. He kept us thorougly amused thoughout Yahtzee with his hilarious faces.
We gave up on this title pretty quickly and I doubt it will be used again. If you watch for sales, you can probably pick up most of the board games included here for the same price.』
