(Ssssoooooo Much better than my Bissell)
(Why did it take me so long to buy this?)
(works great and really good price!)
(very pleased) I did see some negative reviews before I bought it but have had none of the difficulties with leaking, etc. Does a very good job, the spin brush is effective but not great, the suction is very good as is the ease of use. Amazon's price was about 45 dollars less than local and it arrived very quickly, even with ecoonomy (free) shipping. Hoover F5914-900 SteamVac with Clean Surge WOW ! I'm so impressed with this cleaner. My second Bissell (it worked about 9 times before breaking) seamed to be doing a good job, the water WAS dirty, but after it broke and I decided to switch brands....WOW, what a noticable difference the Hoover made. I thought the grey-ish traffic stains on my beige carpet were just permanent (after all, I had been using a Bissell for a few years and the stains never came up) but just going over the carpet once, and the bad traffic areas twice, the carpet looks like NEW !!! I'm still in shock at what an excellent job the Hoover did. Also... the Bissell was such a pain to fill and clean, but the Hoover is SO easy to use, fill and clean that I keep thinking I'm forgetting a step. I'm so happy I don't have to buy new carpet...because now it looks like new carpet. I could do a commercial for this most excellent product. I had been thinking of getting a carpet cleaner for several years and put if off. Enter a sick dog and well...you can take it from there. It came in 3-4 days with free delivery! It's easy to use, though if you have to do a couple of rooms with stains to go over, your wrist could be sore! The directions are easy to follow and it also has a long cord. I bought it based on Amazon reviews and concur with the majority. I've only used it four times so I can't speak to its durability but using it is easy and rewarding! (i.e. clean carpets!) This is the 2nd carpet shampooer I've owned. I love it! It works great -makes the carpet look nice and carpet dries very quickly. It got rid of ink stains and nasty stains on the steps. Hopefully, it will last more than 2 years, but even so, at this price, it's an incredible deal!
I based my decision on weight of the cleaner and reading reviews.
Read the manual thoroughly before operating device. I bought this for my own personal use, and found it was easy to set up, and use. The carpeting dried quickly, and this worked very good. I highly recommend this, and you can see it has a good rating on consumer reports, that is why I bought it:) HOOVER® STEAM VACUUMS SteamVac SpinScrub Hoover steam vacuums clean spots and stains on your floors with ease. (Furballs 101)
(Super Addition to Cat Grooming Tools)
(Five cats + Furminator = One happy gal!)
(Almost too effective) Seems to remove lots of hair fast, but does not really work on clumps or mats.
If your cat sits still long enough, you're in business. Well, like a lot of other people, I was doubtful that this would actually help with the "fur situation". We have 2 cats and everything is covered!! I have been pleasantly surprised at how well the Furminator really works. Now, I just have to remember to use it on a regular basis. Removes a load of fur. Cats enjoy it. You must comb and brush still. Already told our vet about it. Will tell others. Great grooming aid.
Make sure to read instructions for use!!! With four active inside cats and one that's inside/outside, we have fur-bunnies all over the house all the time. In desperation, I ordered the Furminator and I am tickled pink! One little guy is still nervous about it, but the others love it. One in particular has an extremely dense short-hair coat, and he gets excited when he sees the Furminator. He leans into it, turns around so I can groom the other side, rolls over, hops up to bat the excess fur around, and just purrs and purrs. He's shedding less when I pet him. Living in south Louisiana, the heat can become overwhelming, so I was happy to realize how much thinner the coats feel when I'm done without looking too thin. In fact, with triple digit heat indexes for the last few days, the cats have been sleeping a lot. That is, until they were Furminated. Now they're playing like kittens on the first cool day of the year! Three out of four cats surveyed enjoyed being combed with the Furminator. (The fourth always thinks I am playing when I try to comb or brush her and tries to rip my arm off.) The reviewers who said you could make a new cat out of the fur removed may have been more correct than they realized. When I looked at my cats in bright sunlight after Furminating them, I realized that I could see all the way through the outer coat to the skin on their backs. If these cats went outdoors (they don't), they could actually get sunburned. The amount of loose hair floating around the house has decreased dramatically. So I rate this tool as highly effective but suggest that it be used with care on outdoor animals. 6" L, 1.75" wide deShedding edge FURminator deShedding Tool for Cats reduces shedding up to 90 percent by removing the loose, dead undercoat without damaging the topcoat. I only wish that the charcoal would rinse out in the 15 minute soak + cleaning. It's not a big deal, but it could be better. Rather than try to find the filters at my local store, it was much simpler and less expensive to get the filters through Amazon. The filters arrived quickly, in good condition. Now my children won't have to ask me why I haven't changed the filter yet and I'll sleep better knowing I'm filtering our well water. Water is filtered in less than 10 seconds, without any observable gap between the pitcher and the filter. It tastes like tap water. Very different from the store bought ones. It seems like the filtering particles they use are different. I wonder if they are counterfeits. I looked around the internet for the Brita filters and found that Amazon had the best price. I try to always deal with Amazon because of the price, reliability, and great shipping! Would recommend this item to anyone and highly recommend Amazon.com! I do a lot of shopping at Amazon and have never been disappointed. I have not used other water filters but have used Brita Filters for over 10 years and enjoy the clean taste of the water. (Guess I Am Not Into Hawaiian Music)
(Great Hawaiian Music)
(CD IZ)
(Just what I was looking for) This is the fourth copy of this CD that I've bought either for myself or as gifts to friends. Includes the classic solo version of "Somewhere Over The Rainbow", used in TV programs and commercials. I heard the song, "Somewhere Over The Rainbow/What A Wonderful World" and loved it. I downloaded the single, but after I changed computers after my old one died, I lost the DRM rights to play the song. I went looking for it as a single, and could not find it. I finally bought the CD just to get the one song. I also am intrigued by a Hawaiian version of "Take Me Home, Country Roads". Other than that, I did not care for the more Hawaiian-sounding music on the CD. Israel Kamakawiwo'ole had a pleasant voice when matched to an appropriate song. It is sad that he died so young!
We have been enjoying this CD for several days now. He had an amazing voice. I will be purchasing more of Iz's CDs in the future. We love Hawaii and this brings us back there. This is one of the best CD's of his that we have heard. I got this for a gift. They really did like&enjoy it. It's great. I heard the track "Somewhere over the rainbow" at a wedding reception and knew I had to have it. After finding the artist name, I checked "Borders" and 'Barnes and Noble",and neither had it. They could order it but looking at 3/4 weeks was not an option. I checked Amazon and found exactly what I wanted, in stock, and had it in 3 days. Extremely good service without special costs to overnight, or anything. And I now have it. Should remember to check Amazon first, as it was cheaper even paying the shipping then the above mentioned stores. Thanks again for coming to my rescue, as you have so often in the past. To gauge the magnitude of Israel Kamakawiwo'ole's popularity in his native Hawaii, consider this: following his death in 1997 (at age 38, attributed to his profound obesity), Kamakawiwo'ole's body lay in state in the state capitol, only the second person to receive such an honor. Kamakawiwo'ole's appeal lies in his love for prestatehood, precondominium Hawaii and the expressiveness of his gently passionate voice, which can float through higher registers with an ease that brings Johnny Mathis to mind. Several selections ("Ka Pua U'i," "White Sandy Beach of Hawai'i," the sun-kissed "La 'Elima") feature Kamakawiwo'ole in a traditional mood, using only his ukulele to adorn the charm of his native lyricism. Others, such as the Jimmy Buffett-like "Maui Hawaiian Sup'pa Man" add playful contemporary touches that suit Kamakawiwo'ole's style. Most touching are the string-backed laments that open and close the album, "Hawai'i '78 Introduction" and "Hawai'i '78," initially a reflection on his father's death, later on the passing of Hawaii's native culture. Best known is his medley "Somewhere over the Rainbow/What a Wonderful World," which played over the closing credits of the filmMeet Joe Black.--Terry Wood There's a smart balance of traditional Hawaiiana and contemporary tunes on this CD. There's heart-tugging warmth along with unexpected chuckles. The end result is a candid, honest reinforcement of his vocal breadth. Rerations < Facing Future >

(Fantastic Musician)
(Great technique and sophisticated feelings!)
(Not Your Grandmother's Chamber Music)
(A Journey of Infinite Artistry) Superb musicianship, and a musical journey from Elizabethan England to 20-century America. The "Joan Baez Suite" was inspired by songs that had been made famous by Joan Baez, who was one of Isbin's musical heroes. When Baez heard the suite she offered to sing two tracks on the album, accompanied by Isbin's playing. There is also a wonderful collaboration with Mark O'Connor.
National Public Radio broadcast an interview with Isbin a couple of days ago, which can be found on their website. This interview stimulated me to buy the album.
I heard an interview and music on WBAI and had to have some of her music. Bought this and her latest with Joan Baez and I absolutely Love her! Great musicians behind her also.
I got to know Sharon Isbin from my guitar teacher and bought this album just recently. Although I knew her as a Grammy Award winner, I was still very thrilled by the excellent techniques she displayed in this CD. Joan Baez joined her with two beautiful songs and made the CD even more attractive. It's well worth the money! This is a review by John Hodges from the Juilliard Journal Online.
Joan Baez was one of guitarist Sharon Isbin's childhood heroes, so perhaps it was inevitable that they would eventually collaborate, and the joyous results are at the heart of a new Sony CD, Journey to the New World. Baez adds haunting vocals on "Wayfaring Stranger," which, thanks to arranger Carlos Barbosa-Lima, deftly steers away from treacle. She returns later in breathy, beautiful form for Isbin's transcription of John Jacob Niles's "Go 'Way From My Window." Both make fine bookends to the Joan Baez Suite (2002) by John Duarte, who died in 2004. It's a shame he didn't live to hear this recording. Using roughly 12 of Baez's songs, Duarte crafted a moody yet mellow tribute that shows off Isbin's expertise. A high point comes in the bittersweet "Where Have All the Flowers Gone": some arresting chord changes herald the traditional "Taps."
Isbin, who founded and chairs Juilliard's guitar department, begins the CD with four Renaissance duets, originally for lute and arranged for her playing both parts. Most impressive is the melodic invention of John Johnson's "Greensleeves," and I was struck by the haunting, anonymously attributed begins the CD with four Renaissance duets, originally for lute and arranged for her playing both parts. Most impressive is the melodic invention of John Johnson's "Greensleeves," and I was struck by the haunting, anonymously attributed "Le Rossignol." The generous disc also includes Andrew York's brief Andecy, a popular valentine to folk music of the British Isles.
The program ends with Mark O'Connor's Strings&Threads Suite, originally for violin solo, but here arranged for guitar and violin (the latter raptly played by O'Connor). Sections such as "Road to Appalachia" and "Texas Dance Hall Blues" are typical of its homey, exuberant channeling of folk tunes from Ireland and the United States. Throughout the program, Isbin's warmth, vitality, and casual virtuosity infuse each track. Those who know Isbin only from her Bach, Rodrigo, or Villa-Lobos may be surprised by her naturalness in this repertoire. The recording engineers, Tim Martyn and Dann Michael Thompson, capture every pluck in vivid detail. Have no doubt, this CD confirms that Sharon Isbin is a most generous, brilliant artist with a gift to touch the soul. Her latest (2009) CD brings an entirely new dimension of lyrical virtuosity to light. From the remarkable tonal color palette expressed masterfully in the opening 16th century flavored works, to the haunting "Andecy" which evokes a sensuality and beauty beyond words... Like a mysterious stranger who beckons... A brand new recording of "Wayfaring Stranger" begins with Isbin's intro, a cascade of notes sounding like a auditory magical spring rain, leading to Joan Baez's unearthly vocals. This poetic collaboration is absolutely heavenly. The Baez Suite that follows is enthralling. The concluding Mark O'Connor Strings and Threads Suite shows how truly alive and modern the classical guitar can be when its voice sings under Isbin's fingers. This is a CD that is a must in your collection and active on your MP3 player/iPod! There is very smooth sailing and something special at every stop along the way on this "Journey to the New World". Her best work to date... Grammy Award-winning guitarist Sharon Isbin's debut release on Sony Masterworks is, as she describes it, "A voyage in song from the British Isles to the New World." She is joined by two stellar guest artists: Grammy Award-winning folk singer Joan Baez and violin virtuoso Mark O'Connor. The album includes world premieres of the Joan Baez Suite by John Duarte and the Strings&Threads Suite for violin and guitar by O'Connor. Rerations < Journey to the New World >

(Set up options lacking)
(Simply Amazing)
(Great Video)
(No dropout on '09 Blu-ray) Ok.....it is 2009 as I am writing this review....the Song Remains The Same was produced in 1973 and was released in 1976...so the critics noting the "bombastic", "excessives", or "egos" associated with this piece..(or the Jimmy Page guitar solo)..take a deep breath, and keep your perspective! Yes, there is an ample supply of fodder for "Spinal Tap" parody in this film, but this is also part of the intrinsic magic of this film.
In spite of the excesses, and the silly (but entertaining) excursions into the short "fantasy sequences"...this film ROCKS. Yeah, it was 1973, and there is some rock n' roll bloat, but there is also greatness, and sheer joy at the quality of the performances.
The Blu-ray of this film is very good. We are all fortunate that this movie was made because we have a record/time capsule of the rock scene circa 1973. Plus, one can have a greater appreciation for the humor of the rock parody "Spinal Tap"....watch one before or after the other...see how sophisticated we are in 2009...not!! (People will be laughing at 2009 in 30 years too.....)
I already had the standard DVD and wanted to expand. I have a Sony 550 blue ray player and a Denon 2309 receiver. Both are quite capable for the newest blue ray format. When I try to set up audio I do not have the option for Dolby HD. There isn't any option for audio other then delay and filter. Also their isn't any track listings. It is recorded in 24P that is good but I am not happy with the options. I heard "Rain Song" on the radio yesterday in my car and ended up sitting in the driveway for quite a while till it was done. Where had this Zep track I'd never heard come from? I'm not sure how many other people have overlooked this live album as something to be ignored. Well I've been rocking out to it ever since loading the MP3 tracks on my iPod. Definitely a winner! The sound and video on this disc is incredible in hi-def. Definitely a good purchase. I purchased a (March '09) Blu-ray version of "The song remains the same" that does not seem to have a dropout at timecode 1:40:45, as reported by others. The quality is exemplary - while I have no comparison with CD / DVD versions, I am very impressed with the (1080p) video as well as the (Dolby 5.1) audio quality. It is possible - I can't say this with any degree of certainty, but I recall these "mishaps" from the early days of both CD and DVD) - that the dropout is related to the chipset in use in the Blu-ray player. As far as I can see the version I picked up today is the same 2007 release, but rather than a Blu-ray player I am using a Buffalo Technology BR-816SU2 External MediaStation 8x USB 2.0 Blu-ray Writer (Black), with video processed through a Lenovo 3000 N500 15.4" 1GB 160GB HDD HDMI laptop, and audio through a Creative Labs 70SB049000000 USB SoundBlaster Live 24-Bit External Sound Card processor. This setup is dedicated to Blu-ray - you don't want to read your email while playing a disk, the data throughput is massive. There are multiple different versions of the Lenovo 3000 N 500 - this is the 4233-52U version, with a Celeron 2.0 Ghz processor, and an HDMI port, expanded to 4 Gb of RAM and using a Microsoft Windows Vista Business with SP1 Upgrade. The Lenovo needs a Esata II Expresscard Raid (or similar) interface card to talk to the Buffalo Blu-ray writer - the USB interface is NOT fast enough. customer 's review (Father's Day)
(Great video)
(Great)
(Band of Brothers DVD set)
(Great Value) I purchased this for my husband for Father's Day. He loves it. Now he can watch it all in order and not miss a single moment of the action! One of the best presents that I could have given him. Great value for the price! Bought it as a gift because I was soo impressed with the story. Don't know the quality of the merchandize but as long as the video quality is good (no scratches, etc.) you can't go wrong with this video. Band Of Brothers. Item was just as described and fast shipping even with super saver. It's great to be able to watch the story of the epic achievements of E Company, 506 Parachute Infantry Regiment, during WW2 without commercial interruption. Band of Brothers is understated, exceedingly well-acted and, therefore, profoundly moving. The accompanying documentary with the survivors of E company is excellent. It shows their enduring courage and demonstrates the price that all veterans pay for for their time in combat, both physically and spiritually. This video collection is just amazing..comes in a metal box, good insert, and the price I paid is unbelievable..you wont be sorry, great collection An impressively rigorous, unsentimental, and harrowing look at combat during World War II,Band of Brothersfollows a company of airborne infantry--Easy Company--from boot camp through the end of the war. The brutality of training takes the audience by increments to the even greater brutality of the war; Easy Company took part in some of the most difficult battles, including the D-Day invasion of Normandy, the failed invasion of Holland, and the Battle of the Bulge, as well as the liberation of a concentration camp and the capture of Hitler's Eagle's Nest. But what makes these episodes work is not their historical sweep but their emphasis on riveting details (such as the rattle of a plane as the paratroopers wait to leap, or a flower in the buttonhole of a German soldier) and procedures (from military tactics to the workings of bureaucratic hierarchies). The scope of this miniseries (10 episodes, plus an actual documentary filled with interviews with surviving veterans) allows not only a thoroughness impossible in a two-hour movie, but also captures the wide range of responses to the stress and trauma of war--fear, cynicism, cruelty, compassion, and all-encompassing confusion. The result is a realism that makes both simplistic judgments and jingoistic enthusiasm impossible; the things these soldiers had to do are both terrible and understandable, and the psychological price they paid is made clear. The writing, directing, and acting are superb throughout. The cast is largely unknown, emphasizing the team of actors as a whole unit, much like the regiment; Damian Lewis and Ron Livingston play the central roles of two officers with grit and intelligence.Band of Brothersturns a vast historical event into a series of potent personal experiences; it's a deeply engrossing and affecting accomplishment.--Bret Fetzer Based on the bestseller by Stephen E. Ambrose, the epic 10-part miniseries Band of Brothers tells the story of Easy Company, 506th Regiment of the 101st Airborne Division, U.S. Army. Drawn from interviews with survivors of Easy Company, as well as soldiers' journals and letters, Band of Brothers chronicles the experiences of these men who knew extraordinary bravery and extraordinary fear. They were an elete rifle company parachuting into France early on D-Day morning, fighting in the Battle of the Bulge and capturing Hitler's Eagle's Nest at Berchtesgaden. They were also a unit that suffered 150 percent casualties, and whose lives became legend. Rerations < Band of Brothers [VHS] >

customer 's review (Where's The Region 1 DVD?!)
(Brilliant)
(Misunderstood classic)
(DVD, Please)
(Let's get this going) I mean really - what's the holdup??? Seems like the rest of the world gets this on DVD but not the U.S. I have seen this movie in bits on the Tele now owning it I look so foward to sitting thru it in it's entirity. A very large bowl of *hotair* popped corn...no salt but some garlic melted into the butter a mug of hot chocolate and the phone off the hook. A complex movie but wonderful concepts and insightful projections of the future, all twixed into an adorable - Love Story - Wim Wenders established himself as the quintessential art house foreign film director in the 1980s. He had his critically claimed road movies and the well loved "Wings of Desire" under his belt. His style is hard to pin point, but if there is one word that could be used, it is exploration. Whether it be in travels or in the human condition, it is something that his characters do. "Until the End of the World" epitomizes exploration, and consequently, begs for repeat viewings.
The title itself holds so many meanings. There are two literal ones. The first being that the film involves a chase around the world for the elusive William Hurt character. The second being the fear that the world would end at the turn of the millenium.
But that doesn't even begin to scratch the clever layering of meaning within the film. Wenders loves exploring the depth of the characters, even after the chase is over, he lets us visit with them a little longer. While we're doing that, the characters are going deeper and deeper in trying explore themselves through the use of devices that allow people to see their dreams. And we do get to see this in the American 158 minute version. Although this is regarded by the director as a heavily truncated version of his vision, it's still highly watchable and entertaining.
The film is also notable for it's interesting look and concept. Wenders isn't venturing too far into the future here, but places subtle glimpses of what he felt it might look 9 years from when the film was made in 1991. He actually does a credible job and shows a genuine curiosity for science in this film.
This also boasts one of the best soundtracks period. Wenders has had some allegiances with some great bands or artists over the years. Included here are prominent Wenders collaboraters U2 and Nick Cave as well as a number of alternative icons like R.E.M., Elvis Costello, and the wonderful score by the nearly infallible Graeme Revelle.
The structure of the film can be very off putting for the regular film goer and I must admit that when I first watched it, it through me for a loop. Wenders is not satisfied with giving you merely a human drama or action story and is known for shifting gears in his films. What starts as cat and mouse chase story shifts into an exploration of the human condition through the use of dreams, looking into people's obsession with them. It makes for an odd watch that if you are pleased with, you might have another go round.
This is an excellent movie surely worthy of another look and possibly a DVD release. It wasn't well understood when it came out and Wenders grand idea probably wasn't ready for the US quite yet. I'd be willing to give this film another while, be it the 158 minute version or 280 minute trilogy version available in other regions. While many may disagree, I do think Wenders succeeded in creating his ultimate road movie - and a little bit more. This is also one of my all time favorites, haven't seen it in awhile, have the CD and the VHS buried here somewhere; and hoped it would be easier to finally get a new DVD version - But I don't live in Germany, I live in the Bronx for chrissakes. Is Wim Wenders holding out? It's time for a Region 1 release!! By far, this is one of my favourite films of all time. I am so keen to see the diecrto's cut - I would be willing to spend a day or two watching it with no problem - so I bought the VHS tape, but I would happily have bought a no-frills DVD (like the one I have for Deliverance, among others) just to have this on disc. As cheap as it is to transfer this to a disc now, it just seems mean to not do so. Let's get it going for goodness sake. Shot on location in numerous countries, this ambitious Wim Wenders fantasy takes Sam Neill, Solveig Dommartin, William Hurt, and a ragtag group in pursuit around the world and back again. Though set in 1999 under the shadow of impending disaster as a wobbly nuclear satellite threatens to Chernobyl the planet, the leisurely gait of their worldwide escapades has a distinctly '40s-era decadence. The ultimate object of their quest is a machine that records visual information from one person and reconstructs it in the brains of others--granting the miraculous power of sight to the blind for one thing, but even more mystically, enabling a person's dreams to be recorded. When the film seeks resolutions on the most intimate questions of the human soul which dovetail with the possibility of a destroyed world, the film is hampered by the VHS running time, which subtracts several hours from the laser disc version. But numerous joys, not least among them Jeanne Moreau and Max von Sydow as Hurt's parents, inhabit this thought-provoking film.--Alan E. Rapp Rerations < Until the End of the World [VHS] >

customer 's review (One of the most enchating 50's movies!)
(Underated 50's movie with an all star cast that should be on DVD.)
(Priceless classic)
(DVD PLEASE !!!!!!!!)
(entertaining film, should be on dvd) This movie is a must own. It has an all star cast that includes Lauren Bacall, June Allyson, Arlene Dahl, Van Heflin, Fred MacMurray, and Cornel Wilde. Three different couples travel to New York for their husdbands to interview for a position, but they soon find out that then job depends just as much on their wives as it does the husdbands. Each wife is different, one is snobby, one is classy, and one is delightfully querky. This is a warmly hilarious movie. This movie absolutely must be released on DVD as it is one of my favorites since I was a little girl. This is a great movie that most people have never heard of. An all star cast in Cinemascope and Technicolor, this forgotten gem should be on DVD. Better yet, Fox, how about putting together a Clifton Webb DVD box set with some of his classic performances including this movie, Sitting Pretty (another neglected jewel) and the other 2 Mr. Belvediere movies, Stars and Stripes Forever and The Remarkable Mister Pennypacker to name a few. Give us a break, Fox! A WOMAN'S WORLD is one of a kind movie...well maybe not so if you think of THREE COINS IN THE FOUNTAIN and THE PLEASURE SEEKERS and films of that ilk. But it's one of the best, made when CinemaScope was new to Fox Studios. In fact that was Fox's "heyday" of scope films. They have released so many inferior products on DVD, why don't they start releasing some good old Scope films like A WOMANS'S WORLD? A Scope collection could include TEN NORTH FREDERICK; IN LOVE AND WAR; VIEW FROM POMPEY'S HEAD; VIOLENT SATURDAY to name just a few. WORLD is a bygone era of film making, the likes of we'll never see again. Great stars, scenery and a film score that's rich in atmosphere and romance. It has everything going for it with a nice "whodunit" twist at the end. Three couples are invited to New York to see which husband will be given the job of General Manager of a automotive company. The wives will have a lot to do with the end result. No great shakes of a plot, but this is just plain old fashioned entertainment. Now let's get this on DVD already. Is anyone who is the highest of echilon listening? Also, why not have a Clifton Web collection as he made all of his films at Fox. WOMANS'A WORLD; HOLIDAY FOR LOVERS; STARS AND STRIPES FOREVER; DREAMBOAT; MR. SCOUTMASTER; ELOPEMENT and the three BELVEDERE films. Come on Fox, get with it. What a collection that would make. Please release this on DVD. With this all-star cast and view of 1950's New York this really needs to be on DVD. The clothes&scenerey are stunning. And besides my VHS tape is wearing out. I would love to see this digitalized with the colors back to their original hue. PLEASE Studios get on this one. "Woman's World" is a fun and likable comedy with a first-rate cast, and it deserves to be put out on dvd. It also has funny and pointed dialogue, probably from Howard Lindsay and Russell Crouse, the celebrated playwriting team who wrote "Life with Father" among other hits, and who have an "additional dialogue by" credit on the film.
Clifton Webb brings 3 married couples to New York City to decide who should take over a major job in his auto factory. Cornel Wilde is the good guy with the square, awkward wife June Allyson. Fred MacMurray is the troubled one with an ulcer, and Lauren Bacall is his wised-up wife, agreeing to pretend she's not about to divorce him.
Van Heflin is the "still waters run deep" candidate with the gorgeous wife Arlene Dahl (with a Texas accent?), who sends out hilariously over-the-top sexual vibes to everyone including Clifton Webb. (Doesn't she know he's probably not interested? Of course, this is the 50s.) Miss Dahl is both charismatic and funny in this film.
The six actors playing the husbands and wives are all fun to watch. MacMurray and Bacall have the meatiest material, since they're dealing with a genuine problem marriage. I love their introductory scene, driving through the Lincoln Tunnel. As they're about to get out of the tunnel after a bitter exchange, he says "looks there's the light," and she says dryly, "I saw the light a long time ago" in her best Bacall drawl.
A fun side story has Bacall's character generously taking Allyson under her wing, since Allyson's character seems incapable of dressing herself or choosing an appropriate wardrobe. (Having blown her budget on a gruesome barbecue "chef" outfit for the whole family back home, very 50s.) Bacall, always playing someone savvy, takes her to a bargain basement kind of place that carries dicarded originals, and the scene of pandemonium of women ransacking the disorganized racks of sale price clothing is hilarious.
Anyway, it's an entertaining movie, and a fun capsule of 50s America, with good location shots of New York City. Doesn't deserve to disappear.

(Waste of money)
(It's a stinker)
(Product is good but disappointed at Amazon) I bought two of these, one for my TV system and one for the computer. I could not get the phone line circuit on either one to work I had to get a Radio Shack plug in to get the job done on the P/C These are great, and one benefit not mentioned is Belkin's lifetime replacement guarantee. If the protector stops working, even because it was used against a surge, they will repair/replace it!
There's no better value in surge protection. What a piece of junk. I plugged it in then turned it on. I heard a pop then smelled a burnt smell. That was the beginning and the end. It never worked. Purchased, plugged in, protected light came on for 10 seconds, and then went out and the protector died. Just like that. Totally non-functional.
Belkin customer service is sending me a new one, but it cost me $10 to mail it to them. Grrrrrr. I have other Belkin products that have worked well, but this sure didn't. If you're going to buy this, I'd buy locally so you can return it much more easily (and cheaply). I just received this product today and i was literally shocked. I've been a loyal customer of amazon for years and this product had scratched, finger prints, and not even rapped inside the box. I even thought if I bought used (which i never do) from amazon, and I was sure I didn't.
I was considering whether to return this product but decided to keep it since it works but by the looks of it might not last for a while.
If i had received perfect new condition, this product is probably good. Makes me re-consider whether to buy any electronic products from Amazon.

(Great Multitool!)
(awesome!)
(Memorial Day Struggles!) Initially I really like the function and weight of this multitool. However now after a few months of use I've already broken the pliers. I carry this everywhere, and it's saved me *many* trips down to my toolbox in the basement. It's quite light, and doesn't take up too much pocket space.
The design is really ingenious. I particularly love the changeable bits. The Skeletool ships with double-ended flat and Philips bits, and they store in the knife, so you're never without them. I bought the accessory bit set. It covers about 95% of the fasteners you're likely to run into.
The combination general-purpose/needlenose pliers are really quite good. Having the skinny tips has come in handy more than once.
In hindsight, I *might* go for the non-CX Skeletool simply because I like its smooth knife blade rather than the CX's semi-serrated. It's easier to sharpen. OTOH, the CX is excellent as-is, and the carbon-fiber is sexy. And yes, 154CM is better than 420HC. Not sure how much that matters in real life, though.
Yours truly broke off the tip of the knife blade (my fault, not the CX's). I wrote Leatherman an email. They said to send them $10 ($9? can't remember) for repair and return shipping. That sounded like a good deal, so I did it. After a couple of weeks I got a BRAND NEW CX along with my original uncashed check. I feel almost embarrassed at their generosity.
Anyway, I'd buy this again in an instant. I'm even tempted to squirrel another one away in case Earth is hit by an asteroid and they stop making them. This has been in my pocket since i bought it. I use it everyday at work, and take it backpacking with me. It doesn't have 300 fold out gadgets, just some basic functions that almost anyone would need. The changeable bits are great, and don't weigh a lot at all. I was skeptical about losing them at first, but I haven't had any trouble at all with them. Great quality for the price, and for those of us who just want things we will actually use day-to-day, this is the tool. Sharp knife. Really cool looking. Took it camping and only wished for my other leathermen once when I came across a can of blueberries and didn't have a can opener. I have been keeping this in the car for emergency situations when or if I was not wearing my Leatherman Charge.( which gets a 5 star plus rating!) I had to cut some of the wire on a wreath at the cemetary&then bend it&it was a struggle to see if the wire or the Leatherman was going to win out as #1. I knew where the best place to cut the wire was on the multi-tool but when I started to bend the wire; I could see the needlenose part was flexing. The multi-tool won out but I know to take my Leatherman Charge when I go camping! I wonder how Survivorman or Bear Grylls would rate this cool looking multi-tool? I would not want to have to depend on this Leatherman in the mountains camping or way back in a forest somewhere! In my opinion, the Leatherman New Wave would have been a better buy! The sleek new Leatherman Skeletool CX gets you back to basics... very cool basics. The Skeletool CX has only the most necessary of multi-tool features, because sometimes that's all you need. With a 154CM combo stainless steel blade, pliers, bit driver, pocket clip and carabiner/bottle opener, you're set. Lightweight, low volume, perfect size. The Skeletool CX: Who says more is better? Leatherman packs the full-size Skeletool with the tools you're likely to use most often. |
Introducing the Brand New Skeletool CX from Leatherman Get back to basics -- the verycoolbasics -- with Leatherman's Skeletool CX. Today’s outdoor enthusiasts want to keep weight and volume to a minimum without sacrificing quality and true functionality, and that's what the Skeletool is all about. Many multitools have multiple options, but they’re often heavier -- and they're loaded with more features than most people actually need on a regular basis. Conversely, pocket knives are light and streamlined, but they render themselves useless when the task calls for a more versatile tool. Enter the new Skeletool platform, offering minimal weight, compact size and endless capabilities. Key User Features The Skeletool CX has a large knife blade that can be accessed while the tool is closed; to open it, just place your thumb in the thumbhole at the base of the blade and rotate it out until it's fully extended -- which will engage the safety lock. This locking mechanism is noted with a padlock symbol on the tool. To unlock the blade, press the locking mechanism towards the handle until the blade slides past the lock. Equipped with a universal bit driver, the Skeletool offers real utility options like no other multitool. To change the tool bits, simply unfold the tool and remove the bit from the bit driver -- and pop it out. And replacing bits is just as easy. Just press a new one into position and you're good to go. There's even a spare bit located in the handle side opposite the knife blade. This tool includes the following bits: Phillips #1 and #2, screwdriver 3/16-inch and 1/4-inch. In the plier jaws you'll find a hard-wire cutter and a regular wire cutter. The regular wire cutter is great for softer grades of wire, but the hard-wire cutter is excellent for heavier jobs -- like cutting and bending fishhooks. Multitool Capabilities: The Skeletool keeps it simple -- and light, and compact, and easy to transport. Why waste time with pointless, heavy add-ons when all the basics are right at your fingertips? With its open hardware, skeletal design and hardy appearance, the Skeletool boasts a premium stainless steel blade, pliers, a universal bit driver, and a carabiner/bottle opener ... and that'sit. (The middle plugs are a little difficult to use.)

(80.00 Retail?)
(1 in everyroom :)) How does one geek out over a power strip? Let me count the ways...
1. Have you forever been frustrated with only using "some" of the outlets on your power strips due to the blocking size of most power adapters? This baby features adjustable, rotating power plugs so you can use EVERY SINGLE socket there is here. Never have I seen the like. You can plug in anything to this!
2. Well made, sturdy, solid made to last. I have 2 of these.
3. Grounding lights and other indicators a-plenty.
4. Cable wrap bar to keep people from kicking cables out.
5. 12, count 'em 12 sockets! And you can use every single one by adjusting them. This seems to be a pretty good surge protector, especially for the price. The pivot-plug system does work as it is supposed to, though I'm not exactly sure how beneficial of a feature that really is. As some other reviewers have said, the middle plugs are a little difficult to plug things into. I have to angle the plug in at first to get it to go. But once it's in it seems to work fine.
Specs: * Response time:<1 nanosecond
*Clamping voltage: 330 Volts

*Noise filtration: 150kHz-100MHz up to 50dB reduction
*Connected Equipment Warranty: $300,000 As many has already stated, the beauty of this surge protector is the ability to handle many types of plugs. I found this to be true at my computer desk. Now I have the Belkin Pivot Plug protector and this problem no longer exist. I think for the money this is a very smart buy. I love it This is a good Surge Protector, but 80.00 RETAIL!, seems over inflated. It is worth 30.00 though. Very flexible, and 4200ju is a plus. The reviewer who says you can't use the center plug-ins must be afraid to push in a little harder or needs to return it for a new one. I had just an aux box for my desktop.
now that i bought this item.

Not yet released customer 's review (Terrible movie... prepare to be bored and little intrigued)
(Good, Solid Science Fiction Movie)
(Knowing)
(A chilling and apocalyptic warning!)
(Disappointing) This movie was intriguing in the beginning, but the whole movie is rather monotone. There isn't any real action and the plot develops really slowly. Nicolas Cage gives us a rather boring performance with emotion that doesn't make you believe it's reality.
Skip this movie. Knowing is a film for people who like Science Fiction. This is not a "left behind" film although it contains religious elements; but it does'nt beat you over the head with them like a "left behind" movie. It has a very life-affirming, positive message and held my interest until the end.
Nick Cage stars as a scientist who finds a long-buried document, written by a child, that predicts future events. This leads him to investigate the origins of the number-filled note. Some people called this a "thriller" - not really. It has some loud moments, stuff does blow up in the film, but I would'nt call it a thriller.
I like the director, so I gave this film a chance. Movies that involve themes like this are tricky to do, especially now where theatres can be full of Flouride-drinkers and/or Zealots. Proyas should get some credit for trying to make interesting films - sometimes he comes up with a "Crow", other times he comes up with a "I. Robot". This film is more of a "Crow" than an "I, Robot".
Knowing is not breaking any new ground, but it is well worth a look.
I was definetly surprised with this movie. I had not seen any previews for it, so was not sure what the movie was about. I have always been a "Nicolas Cage" fan and knew that I wouldn't walk away from this movie empty handed. I was right! What a ride! Great Movie!! I loved the pace and attitude the movie gave you, the "not knowing" what happens next. I love to be able to watch a movie and not have it figured out in the first 30 mins. I give this movie 4 stars. A great flick to watch at any age, however, I wouldn't recommend it for children under 13, due to some scary images. I was a little disappointed with the end of the movie. Not to ruin it for those who haven't seen this movie, but you know what they say, "it's just a Movie!" I'd Watch it Again in a Heart Beat! Entertainment all the way!
Behind the handled narrative device that supports the plot (a young child who was gifted with the skill of predict sinister facts to come) is buried through a time capsule in 1959 just to be unburied fifty years later.
And the clues are a well articulated set of numbers, randomly disposed at first sight but that reveal an enigma to be solved by a astral physician that contain horrid predictions, past and next to happen. He will have to decipher this entangled puzzle in order to find out the clues.
Once more, the dark universe of Alex Proyas remits us to those sinister and nocturnal landscapes, in which supernatural specters and aliens whispers will be part of this original script.
The main clue will come from a William Blake's reproduction that will bring us the real sense of the last prediction. The last shots are just a simple warning around what we are passing through. A full rounded anecdote that hides an advertence. Take it or leave it.
Once more, Nicholas Cage is splendid in this role; far from artificial poses, he impresses his personage the central focus of the film. Recommended.
Anytime the words Nicolas Cage and science fiction are thrown together in the same sentence, nothing good really seems to arise. Knowing this (no pun intended), I went into Knowing based on the fact that it is helmed by Alex Proyas, the man who brought us genre classics The Crow and Dark City, and has since been saddled with the likes of I, Robot, and now Knowing. Cage stars as an astrophysicist whose young son (Chandler Canterbury) discovers a time capsule that holds some frightening predictions. Some of which have already happened, and sure enough, the rest are to follow happening as well, with father and son caught right in the middle naturally. Predictable mostly throughout, Knowing succeeds during some truly horrifying sequences (including a brilliantly filmed plane crash), but ends up getting too plodded down in itself. Cage is his usual funky self, but he just doesn't seem like the right kind of fit here. Rose Byrne, who is so good on TV's Damages, ends up being pretty well wasted here as well in a supporting turn as a woman who has ties to the findings, and the cast as a whole doesn't offer anything memorable in the least. Still, the few times that Knowing works, it works well, right up until the end which you'll either see coming a mile away or find yourself with eyes wide open. Either way, Knowing doesn't offer anything you haven't seen before, and seen done better either. Hopefully one day Alex Proyas will get to handle a project that is worthy of his talents. Nicolas Cage stars in this largely unsatisfying science-fiction tale that begins as a taut and spooky story concerning psychic legacies and ends up falling back on Steven Spielberg's old, cosmic playbook for default explanations about weird phenomena. Cage stars as astrophysicist and widower John Koestler, whose young son attends a school where a 50-year-old time capsule is dug up and opened. Koestler's son, Caleb (Chandler Canterbury), is given an envelope from the capsule containing a sheet of paper inscribed with seemingly-random numbers. Koestler interprets groupings of the numbers as prophesies (made in 1959) of disasters leading up to a globally catastrophic event late in 2009. Moreover, some of the later tragedies involve him or members of his family, suggesting the paper was meant to fall into his and Caleb's hands. That’s not the only freaky thing drawing father and son in a direction they really don't want to go. Among other things, a quartet of mute strangers keeps showing up with a powerful interest in Caleb's whereabouts, and the daughter and granddaughter of the little girl who originally scribbled those numbers in 1959 are under the shadow of a separate prediction of doom. Everything goes swimmingly until it's time for director Alex Proyas (The Crow) to begin tying up all the strings, and cliches start falling like rain. On the plus side,Knowingincludes a couple of breathtaking scenes of calamity, the most horrifying (and realistic) of which is a jet crash the likes of which has never been committed to film.--Tom Keogh A college professor (Nicolas Cage) opens a time capsule that has been dug up at his son s elementary school. In it are some chilling accurate predictions of disasters... when, where, and how many will die. Most of these events must uncover the details of the next disasters in hopes of preventing them. If he fails, who knows how many will die? Rerations < Knowing >

(Don't waste your time OR money)
(Surprisingly few special effects)
(Saying it's a turkey would be insulting the bird)
(The Day the Earth Stood Still (3-Disc Special Edition) [Blu-ray]) I must admit I'm surprised at all the reviews and comparisons between the old and the new. I'm sure the producers did not intend to make an identical movie to the old one, and if this movie had had a completely different title, I'm sure the reviews would have been more positive. I fortunately, saw the new before the old. Although I'm one of the biggest scifi buffs ever, surprisingly, I've never seen the original version of this movie. Seeing the 2008 version prompted me to watch the older one. They're both wonderful films in their own way, and I don't think they should be compared too closely. Please try to see it for what it is. I don't think you have to agree with every little political nuance to enjoy it. Just take it for what it is. What a horrible movie. Thankfully I was on a date and didn't pay...otherwise I would have asked for my money back. It stunk. The original is 1 gazillion times better that this piece of doodoo. As others have noted, the fatal flaw of this version is that we never care about Keanu's Klaatu. Yes there is something of a character arc (the growth of the character) in this version, but it's so subtle that those who have not seen the original might miss it completely. Edmund North, who wrote the screenplay for the classic 1951 version, intended for the Klaatu character to appear like the second coming of Christ. That subtle element is even stronger in this version, but Keanu missed an opportunity to play the role in harmony with a Christ-like character. Indeed, Klaatu's true intentions would have seemed far more menacing if our first impression of him was as gentle and kind.
Spencer Tracy was supposed to play Klaatu in the original film, but the producer wisely opted for an unknown actor in the lead. It would have been laughable for a familiar face like Tracy's to walk out of a spaceship. In this version, the director worked around this problem by not revealing Reeves at the spaceship, but the movie would have been strengthened by using an unknown lead. Since Klaatu isn't given much to do here, much of the film is wasted on the completely uninteresting supporting cast, Jennifer Connelly and Jaden Smith. Kathy Bates, as the government official, gives her role a star performance, but alas, her character is was written one dimensionally.
As big budget, "popcorn" movies go, this one is a great disappointment in the special effects department. The robot, GORT, is a delightful update of the original. But there's too little of him. He had much more screen time in the 1951 version and we would have expected about 20 minutes worth in contemporary film.
Perhaps the oddest element of this picture is the title. In the original, the title referred to a key plot incident that is completely gone in this version. Indeed, that clever plot twist was a highlight of the original. The updated twist is revealed too late (about 1 hour, 16 minutes) into the film and then sort of fizzles out as a serious threat.
Overall, the film has the look of something written by a committee. There are lots of walk-on, walk-off characters with little continuity (foreshadowing). And the whole thing seems padded by pointless traveling. There are even some serious continuity errors, such as when a government official refers to the robot as G.O.R.T. How did he know what the robot's name was? To say this movie is a remake of the classic Day the Earth Stood Still would also be an insulting to a great movie. Other people have given reviews on this movie so i'm not going over the same thing they did. (Please read theirs) It looks like someone wrote a story and couldn't sell it under that title so it was done a little different so they could use this title. It seams like that is being done a lot these days. (Like in the War of the Worlds, Wild Wild West) I watch these so-caled remakes hoping they will do justic to the original (like King Kong) but only found one worth getting on dvd, The Time Machine. Someone I know ordered it on pay-per-view the day I saw it and I was very happy I did not put any money out. I really don't want it even if it was given to me. I was really surprise over the 1080p appearance and the 5.1 DTS Surround sound on both version of the film. From now on I am buying all my movies on Blu-ray because I do enjoy the extra features. I know the original 1951 version was not film in widescreen but setting the image to full screen made it fit my TV and it was not stretch too much. It did appear to fit the screen and I enjoy both version of the film. A REMAKE OF THE 1951 CLASSIC SCI-FI FILM ABOUT AN ALIEN VISITOR AND HIS GIANT ROBOT COUNTERPART WHO VISIT EARTH. Impressive special effects are the key selling point for this big-budget remake of Robert Wise's classic 1951 science fiction parable about an alien visitor who delivers a chilling ultimatum to the leaders of the world. Keanu Reeves, who seemed ideal at first blush but ultimately turns into another case of miscasting, steps in for Michael Rennie as intergalactic watchdog Klaatu, who with his robot Gort (now super-sized), promises global destruction unless the powers that be unless drastic measures are undertaken regarding the Earth's environmental issues (or so one assumes). Jennifer Connelly is largely wasted in the Patricia Neal role of scientist/single mom assigned to study Klaatu, who offers a somewhat chilly father figure to her son (a grating Jaden Smith). Connelly isn't the only fine actor in the cast left standing idle while director Scott Derrickson's effects team constructs eye-popping scenes of wholesale mayhem;Mad Men's Jon Hamm, Kathy Bates, John Cleese and Rob Knepper are all adrift in the aimless script by David Scarpa, which never even fully explains why Klaatu is so bent on blowing us to smithereens. That lack of focus, as well as the B-movie quality of the dialogue (say what you will about the effects in the Wise version, but the film was polished from top to bottom), all help to cement what science fiction fans have been muttering about the film since its inception; the original film needed no high-tech updating--Paul Gaita

(Very Quirky Entry In the Pixar Canon)
(Love it!!)
(Disney-Pixar ROCKS!) We were hesitant because we didn't want the "Monsters" to be scary to her. It actually helped her overcome this fear and understand that monsters are nice and not scary! This is her favorite movie! The movie is very entertaining and funny. Well put together and the DVD extras on the collector's addition are amazing. Well, I've decided to review every Pixar movie that has been released, since they are good movies that feature creative storylines, great casts (instead of losers like Mike Meyers, Cameron Dias, John Travolta, and Miley Cyrus), top notch animation and details, pretty good messages for the adults, and What does this have to do with the actual review itself? Absolutely nothing.
Anyway, Monsters Inc. revolves around the fictional Monstropolis. Monstropolis, despite populated by somewhat grosteque, yet loveable, monsters, is a wholesome place, where monsters work, eat out, and have lives of their own. Monstropolis seems like a very great place where people have respect for everybody, and live as civilized as we do. Monstropolis also uses screams from children (who are considered poisioness) via state of the art technology to generate power from scaring them. Problem is, less and less kids are getting sensitive due to exposure and increased level of frightening monsters and imagery (a quite relative observation on our own society? Maybe), and power is harder to get thanks to the desensitivation to children. But when top scarer James P. Sullivan accidently let's loose a human child, he then learns more about humanity than he thought he ever would (okay, he realizes the kid isn't harmful at all. A few other things, but it's not that deep of a movie).
Filmmaking? Uh, hello? It's a friggin Pixar movie! Of course, the film-making has to be good, although Pixar is able to experiment with different styles (!). Heck, please tell me if the Incredibles and Wall-E look exactly the same. Well, I do like the whole look of the movie. The characters are creative, and are dynamic creatures who can be both scary and playful, the whole range. Monstropolos itself is very creative, with numerous, quirky in-jokes . I also love the cast, as it features such great names from adult moves like Steve Buscemi (Reservoir Dogs! Fargo!) and John Goodman (The Big Lebowski!).
Sure, Pixar movies aren't exactly social commentaries, but Monsters Inc. has some pretty interesting messages in it. Sure, you could go with the basic, being some lame. It's a bit simple, but I compare the laughs and the screams. To me, it represents how laughter is better than screams, because while fright may go away because of prolonged exposure, laughs last forever and put more life in everybody than screams. Or something like that. Eh, whatever.
Really, the best thing that you can say about this movie is the fact that is combines both enjoyment for any age, which is pretty much the real beauty of any Pixar movie. This one is reccomended, along with pretty much every other Pixar movie.
B-
Our previous copy of Monsters, Inc was so scratched that it kept skipping or just stopping when the kids tried watching it. I finally got a new copy and my kids plus the kids in my daycare can't get enough!!! We watch it on average 3 times a week...it gets quite a workout! I would highly recommend this movie to anyone. It had been a while since I saw this movie in the theater. Glad I bought the DVD. I was delightfully charmed all over again. It's a keeper! From the Academy Award®-winning creators of TOY STORY comes the computer-animated film that captured the hearts of fans and critics everywhere. MONSTERS, INC., is "visually dazzling, action-packed, and hilarious" (Boston Herald), featuring groundbreaking animation, imaginative storytelling, and unforgettable voice talent. John Goodman stars as the lovable James P. Sullivan (Sulley) and Billy Crystal as his wisecracking best friend, Mike Wazowski. Top scarer Sulley and his enthusiastic Scare Assistant Mike work at Monsters, Inc., the largest scream-processing factory in Monstropolis. The main power source of the monster world is the collected screams of human children. Monsters believe children are dangerous and toxic, however, and they are scared silly when a little girl wanders into their world. Sulley and Mike do their best to return the girl home, but they face monstrous intrigue and some hilarious misadventures along the way. MONSTERS, INC., is "supremely clever -- fun for kids and adults alike" (CBS-TV). Treat yourself to the most entertaining movie of the year with all-new exclusive bonus features and animation for monster laughs and monster fun. The folks at Pixar can do no wrong withMonsters, Inc., the studio's fourth feature film, which stretches the computer animation format in terms of both technical complexity and emotional impact. The giant, blue-furred James P. "Sulley" Sullivan (wonderfully voiced by John Goodman) is a scare-monster extraordinaire in the hidden world of Monstropolis, where the scaring of kids is an imperative in order to keep the entire city running. Beyond the competition to be the best at the business, Sullivan and his assistant, the one-eyed Mike Wazowski (Billy Crystal), discover what happens when the real world interacts with theirs in the form of a 2-year-old baby girl dubbed "Boo," who accidentally sneaks into the monster world with Sulley one night. Director Pete Doctor and codirectors David Silverman and Lee Unkrich follow the Pixar (Toy Story) blueprint with an imaginative scenario, fun characters, and ace comic timing. By the last heart-tugging shot, kids may never look at monsters the same, nor artists at what computer animation can do in the hands of magicians.--Doug Thomas Rerations < Monsters, Inc. customer 's review (Not Quite Right)
(BEWARE of imitations/swaps...Euro package is sub-standard)
(these brushes break after 2 weeks)
(great product, great transactions)
(this not made from the US, quality sucks) I had read a few bad reviews of these items before purchasing them. Like those reviewers before me, I found it was hard to ignore the low price. So I asked myself, "How bad can they be"? The brush heads I received looked correct when compared to the brush heads I purchased locally (at much greater expense). When using them, however, I notice that the motion of the head is not nearly as controlled as the retail example. On the local retail version, the motion of the head is very well constrained to just an oscillating motion (partial rotations, back and forth). These brush heads have very poor motion constraint. The circular brush can easily "slide" around on its base which can very easily pinch your cheeks and/or lips (sometimes quite painfully). Not only that, but the oscillating motion is much weaker resulting in a worse quality brushing. As poor as the action of these brush heads is, I can only imagine that they are a cheap "knock-off", more interested in looking like the original than acting like it. My advice is to pay the retail price for the real brush heads. Your mouth and your dentist will thank you. I ordered "Oral-B Precision Clean" and that was also listed on the package invoice.
I received the Euro-packaged Flexisoft, which are useless! I've used Flexisoft for years and I know a good/new from a bad brush; these were soft/er out of the package than should be after 3+ months' use.
Kabat Enterprises, LLC / US Health Tests promptly refunded my money when I complained, and that is why I have removed my negative feedback for the seller.
Posting this feedback to warn others of the product swap and performance.
BUYER BEWARE! don't buy these, they are cheaper, sure, but I bought them and each one of them broke (the moving brush part came loose) after about 2 weeks, far before the bristles were showing any sign of wear, so actually they turned out to be way more expensive then had I paid more and bought the Oral-B brand!!
I love this product, perfect for kids. transaction was fast and most of all good deal. I will buy again. i bought this for my electric tooth brush replacement, and oral b is alway has good reputation of making tooth brush, but please stay away with this one that sold here (Oral-B Precision Clean Replacement Brush Head (4 ct.) ). the quality is suck. A 4-pack of replacement brushes for all models of Braun Oral-B Plaque Removers The four replacement brush heads in this pack fit all Braun Oral-B electric toothbrushes. (Not impressed.....)
(Chi flat irons don't last)
(Chi Iron not the best product)
(great product) You will definitely notice the difference between the Chi flat iron and the cheaper ones we women on a budget usually buy at Wal-Mart or Walgreens. The great thing is that I found it at a great price on Amazon and I was able to afford it. The difference is incredible. It's been non stop raining here and I live in Miami where it's really hot and humid. MY HAIR NEVER GETS FRIZZY. Incredible, I love it. With my other flat irons I had to blow dry my hair and then flat iron. It would look great until I walked out the house. My hair would automatically frizz up but not anymore. Definitely worth it. Chi products have been recommended to me by several people, so I decided to upgrade my "cheap" hair straightener. I must say, I think this product is overrated. Expensive doesn't mean better. The ceramic plates don't seem to grab the hair. It sort of glides over the hair too easily. Went back to my cheap straightener. Not recommended Beware of purchasing Chi flat irons. My daughter and I both purchased Chi flat irons (she is a hair stylist), and both of them stopped working less than 11 months later. From what I'm reading, Farouk doesn't honor warranties on their products purchased through Amazon, so best to check it out before you buy since Chi products can be pricey. I know it came in a Chi box and says Chi on it but I have had two Chi Irons I purchased from Hair Salons that actually worked for about 6 years. This Chi from this company does not heat up as well as the other chi's. It feels very cheap. The quality of it is not very good. I have been very upnappy with it. It will not straighten my hair like the other chi's did. I would not recommend buying from this company I would go ahead and pay $50.00 more and get the good Chi. They are worth it. You learn from mistakes and I learned from this one not to go cheap. I am very satisfied with this product. It heats up fast and my hair stays straight when I am finished. (Great item -- delivers on promises)
(Much Better)
(An excellent tool if you have braces!)
(Short cord is a real problem) The product is as described and does clean your teeth on areas that your brush can not. It feels better than when you floss. I highly recommended to everybody that care about their oral hygiene. It is worth the $$. My husband was asked by his dentist to get a water pik. I'd had several when I was growing up&they were weak&didn't do anything that I could see, so I was VERY reluctant to buy it.
This one, however, has WAY enough power -- I only use it on "6" and it's enough to choke me if it squirts down my throat! (If children use it, I suggest to start out on "1", for SURE!) Has a GREAT feature -- you push the button on the handle to stop the water when you need it to (so you don't spray yourself or the bathroom with the water!) ;)
I experimented . . . I brushed, flossed THEN used the waterpik and it STILL found stuff! Awesome -- highly recommend.
PROS: STRONG stream, easy to use CONS: a bit loud (esp when you're holding the button to stop flow) -- has to be NEAR the sink (cord on wand doesn't go very far). I purchased this Waterpik to replace my 5 year old model. The older model never really impressed me much so I was hesitant to choose the same brand but based on the reviews I read, decided to take the risk. Thank goodness I did!!! They have improved dramatically over the old model. The pressure settings are fantastic. The periodontal cleaner is a welcome addition along with the toothbrush. The tongue cleaner is just fluff but it was on the older model too, so there was no expectation there. The handle has been designed better with the coiling cord being much handier and making the unit easier to store. The top compartment holding the tools is a great improvement over the old store it on the base design. The tools stay neat and organized and clean. Overall, I would recommend this model Waterpik to anyone. From the braces attachment to the standard Waterpik wand you will not be disappointed. Great value for the price also!! 5 Stars Waterpik, you got this one right. This Waterpik was recommended to my 13 year old to help clean between his braces. After being too cheap to buy one, I finally gave in when floss wasn't doing the job. What a great thing-it's fun to use, not messy at all, and does a great job on teeth. It replaces flossing, and parents can hear it running (not too loud, though) so you know they did it. We got this waterpik for my son who just got braces, and it's a life saver. Trying to floss under the braces was torture. My husband is also now hooked and is thinking about getting one for his office.
I do have a complaint about this particular model, and that's the ridiculously short cord from the unit to the piece you put in your mouth. I noticed other reviewers remarked on this, but thought, how bad can it be? The answer is, pretty bad. We have an older pedestal sink with no counter surrounding it. My husband had to build a little shelf for the waterpik to sit on to be able to use it. He ingeniously used screws to stabilize the unit so you don't pull it off the shelf when you're using it. But you shouldn't have to be a carpenter to use a waterpik * Clinically proven 93% more effective than flossing at reducing gum disease * Healthier gum in just 14 days * Removes bacteria deep between teeth and below gum line where brushing alone will not reach * Massages gums to make them strong and healthy * Ideal for cleaning around braces and other dental work * 10 pressure settings * New design has 20% smaller footprint than previous models * Reservoir lid with tip storage, to keep the reservoir clean and to neatly stow away extra tips * Accessories include three standard jet tips, three tongue cleaner jet tips, one deep cleaning pik pocket tip, and one ortho tip to clean around braces and other dental work * Healthy gums in just 14 days or your money back guaranteed The Waterpik WP-100 Ultra Dental Water Jet is clinically proven to be more effective than floss for healthier gums. Most dental professionals recommend brushing and flossing to keep your teeth and gums their healthiest. Unfortunately, nearly 80-percent of Americans don't floss on a regular basis, and most people find flossing to be a painful or unpleasant chore. Finally, there is an effective alternative to flossing that feels great and is simple to complete.

Waterpik Ultra delivers water pressure of 10-90 PSI and 1,200 pulses per minute. | The Waterpik Ultra goes way beyond flossing to keep your gums their healthiest. Waterpik has designed the WP-100 to deliver a water pressure of 10 to 90 PSI with 1200 pulses per minute. This system delivers a clinically proven combination of water pressure and pulsation to remove debris and bacteria lodged deep between teeth and below the gum-line -- three times deeper than brushing alone. In addition, it massages and stimulates the gums to improve circulation and help promote strong and healthy gums. The Waterpik Ultra is so effective that it is clinically proven to be up to93-percent more effective than flossingat reducing gum bleeding -- a key indicator of impending gum disease. In fact, there are over 50 published clinical studies that show the Waterpik Dental Water Jet provides significant oral health benefits, for people who wear braces, have diabetes, and have mild to moderate gum disease. That's why Waterpik is the most recommended brand by Dental Professionals. In addition to healthier gums, there is nothing better than the clean, refreshing feeling you'll get after using the Waterpik Ultra. While floss can often leave your gums bleeding, swollen and generally beaten up, the WP-100 makes your mouth feel great. Waterpik guarantees healthier gums in just 14 days. If, after using the Ultra for two weeks, your gums are not healthier, or if you are dissatisfied for any reason, then simply return it for a refund -- no questions asked. (Defective item but still a gem)
(Couldn't be happier)
(ASUS 1005HA) I was originally planning on purchasing the 1000HE over this, but I am really satisfied I waited to purchase the 1005HA. I truly thought the 10.5 battery life was just a claim, but charged at %100 my battery life clocked in 10.5 hours just as promised! The touchpad feels great, the boot up was fast, keyboard feels comfortable, and the screen is good. The design is sleek and beautiful. Weighing only about 3 pounds, this won't destroy my back when I carry it around in my backpack. My only real complaint is that this great little netbook is not eligible for the Free Windows 7 upgrade.
Pros: Sleek Design Fast Nice Keyboard and Touchpad Comes with a travel bag Full size shift key AMAZING Battery life Not a lot of bloatware
Cons: No free Windows 7 upgrade Glossy texture makes it a finger print magnet I SECOND THE POSITIVE REVIEW BY "POGO GAMER" ... SEVERAL POINTS. IN ALL THE REVIEWS OF OTHER ASUS NETBOOKS, I HAVE NEVER SEEN MENTION OF THE MOVEMENT OF THE BROWSER WINDOW ... A VERY LARGE PLUS ... WHAT I MEAN IS IF YOU MOUSE TO THE TOP OF THE SCREEN YOU GET THE STANDARD VIEW, BUT BY MOUSING OFF THE BOTTOM ,THE BROWSER IS MOVED UP, CLIPPING ABOUT 3 INCHES OFF THE TOP VIEW TO ADD 3 MORE INCHES TO THE BOTTOM ... THIS HAS THE EFFECT OF EXPANDING THE VERTICAL SCREEN SIZE VERY DRAMATICALLY.
IN SPENDING 2 HOURS SETTING UP THE MACHINE LAST EVENING (ON BATTERY POWER MIND YOU) IN A RESTAURANT ,IE, INSTALLING WINDOWS UPDATES, FIREFOX, JAVA, SKYPE, STANDALONE SECURITIES' TRADING SOFTWARE FROM INTERACTIVE BROKERS, AND SEVERAL OTHERS, AND 4-5 REBOOTS (WHICH USES A LOT OF POWER), THE MACHINE HAD 80% OR 7 HOURS LEFT ... A REALLY INCREDIBLE RESULT ... THE BLUE COVER IS A FINGERPRINT MAGNET AS ALWAYS MENTIONED BUT, AS A NEWLY WAXED CAR, LOOKS STRIKING FRESHLY WIPED. GREAT PRODUCT.

I just got my unit yesterday and spent a lot of time enjoying its sleek functionality. The only thing that did not work was the input microphones. After spending time with Asus' customer service department, they confirmed my suspicion that it was a hardware issue. My choices were to send the unit to them for repair or replacement, (their choice,) or to call Amazon. I was so pleased with Amazon's answer to the problem. I used the automated phone call system. The moment I clicked the "Call me" button, my phone rang, and I was immediately connected to someone who resolved the issue by sending out a new unit and a prepaid mailing label to return my defective unit. That's how it should be done, and I highly recommend making purchases from Amazon for that reason. Bought this netbook for our upcoming trip to Europe, immediately tried to install Windows 7 RC on it, worked PERFECTLY. I highly recommend buying the 2GB RAM upgrade (I went with the Amazon recommended 2GB 667mhz crucial module), best $20 you'll ever spend. All drivers installed fine on Win7, Aero is enabled, everything is very snappy. Can't wait to take this thing on the road. Love it. Installed all apps and it's working perfectly. Went with the 2GB upgrade. Too bad it is not eligible for the Windows 7 upgrade. (asus website did not validate serial #). Came shipped with XP home which does not qualify. Great Netbook though. (Great case for the Seagate FreeAgent external hard drives)
(Great Case For The Money)
(Spacious)
(Great case) I bought this to use with my 500GB Western Digital Passport HDD. As others have stated, the case is a bit too roomy for this drive. If you put it in the case and shake it, you can tell that the HDD is moving around inside. Although I didn't expect a perfect fit, the case is a lot bigger than I thought it would be.
Still, it was inexpensive, and should provide enough protection when I wish to carry the HDD with me while traveling. There are probably better options, but I'm too lazy to research them. I picked this up to store my Seagate FreeAgent Go external hard drive. It works great. I put the drive on one side and the USB connector in the little pouch on the other side. I carry it around everywhere I go in my backpack with lots of books and other junk, so it definitely needs to be protected. This case works great and protects the drive very nicely. I've had it for about a year, using the drive almost daily and haven't had any problems with the case. I'm very happy with it. If you decide to purchase a portable hard drive, you'll definitely want to get a case. This case by Case Logic works excellent for the Toshiba series of portable hard drives. I'm not sure how it will work with Western Digital, but like I said if you do decide to buy a PHD you'll definitely want to protect your investment. This case by Case Logic is well worth the money. Amazon offers both a series of drives and cases for a pretty reasonable price! It is spacious. Have some spaces for the wire. It keeps the hard drive firmly but the cover is not as stiff as those are conventional for digital cameras. Good Stuff. Just right, Big enough to hold a few bits abd bobs as well as the drive and small enough to slip into my lap top bag. Durable, hardshell exterior to protect valuable data / Interior strap secures portable hard drive in place / Zippered closure / Specialty Fabric Rerations < Case Logic Compact Portable Hard Drive Case (Black) >

(True Plug and Play) DO NOT BUY this card! Tried to download files onto to this for my PDA since I intended to use it as external memeory..........files became corrupted and now I can't even open the drive up in order to reformat it. A 20+$ piece of @!#%. I purchased this to use with my daughter's new laptop running 64-bit Vista Ultimate. Supposedly Microsoft's got some technique that will improve the computer's performance when booting the operating system and resuming from sleep and hibernation conditions, if you give it up to 4GB of fast flash memory. Well I did that and personally I detect no change in the performance on a brand new Dell XPS 1530 laptop. This is not a complaint about the Kingston SD memory. It works just fine in every application, MP3 player and camera. I just don't buy the Microsoft claim that their uber-boot technology is more than marketing noise. The device is a fine product. I have had this card for 3 months now and it has worked flawlessly for me. Compatible with my Canon camera and is much faster then my older ones. It does the job and does it well.

(Fast delivery, great product)
(Great product)
(Fun!!!)
(Well, it's just plain cool) I replaced my Palm TX with the iPod touch, and it was a big difference in features and technology. If not for Epocrates being compatible with the iPod, I would have kept my Palm longer. I am very happy with my ipod itouch 2nd gen. apps are easy to use and it upgraded very easily with the itunes 3g iphone upgrade. Got this just before vacation. It was such a great gadget to have while traveling. Free WiFi is everywhere now and we found the itouch very useful for email access and entertaining ourselves! I have owned several ipods in the past and this is by far my favorite. I'm a fan of ipod and I've really enjoyed all of mine in the past but this surpasses even the other new models of ipod in features, style, and hardware.
As an Ipod the touch i think is slightly less effective as other models for two reasons; you have limited control when in your pocket, and the way cover flow is implemented. The 2G touch has a nice external volume control feature and I also picked up some apple buds with a remote and mic so this makes up some of the difference, but there is no way to skip forwards or back on a song. perhaps two sets of external controls would remedy this or controls on remote earphones, but all in all it is a small inconvenience. My other complaint is that whenever you wish to use cover flow you must rotate your ipod landscape, and even when you don't rotating landscape brings up cover flow :-) this may seem stupid but when i lay sideways while choosing a songs it screws everything up and results in a few moments of frustration and discomfort :-)Also not colossal but still a bit frustrating.
The Style of the new Itouch is good, but I HATE the fact that they are still using a stainless steel backing that attracts scratches like magic. I remedied this by purchasing a ZAGG invisible shield but I'd much prefer a hard, matte finish like on other models or even a backing such as an iphone. The screen I am very impressed with, it is very scrath resistant (it's glass) and somewhat fingerprint resistant. The shape of it fits nicely in the hand and The screen is brilliant and vibrant! The Touch feature is also very impressive, very accurate and suprisingly easy to type with.
Although a good ipod, the features of the touch are what make it the best ipod available (unless you count the iphone which is very similar but perhaps slightly better). I heard there have been an estimated 10,000 applications created for the ipod touch/iphone that range in use to everything from virtual aquariums to mosquito replants and everything ion between. The gaming apps are numerous and though many need some work they tap into the ipod's remarkable touch and accelerometer abilities. THere are also great productivity apps that make the ipod touch a worthy contender as even a pda! The only negative is that for most apps wifi is important if not essential. And speaking of wifi, the safari web browsing is fast and fairly easy, Good enough for everday use (great as long as you don.t visit sites that use flash). And my favorite part is that you can listen to your music while doing all this! And the battery can handle a good four hours of this intense work, not great but good :-)
Overall I'm very satisfied, great value! Yep, the reviewer was right--your new iPod Touch will inform you that there is a software update, and then will want you to pay for it. Shame on you, Apple. However, I'm not sure that you will suffer for refusing to be extorted for the most recent software. So far so good for me, which I have to admit is not saying a huge amount since I have only had it about 6 hours.
In that time, I have added a free "peek" at a TV series I may want to buy a season of, a little bowling game for 99 cents, several photos that I can now easily share with friends impromptu if we are having lunch and they ask how the new dog is working out ("Here! Look how cute she is!"), and a scheduled appointment for later in the month. I have a massive amount of tools at hand and enough stuff to keep me entertained when the doctor's office keeps me waiting in the big waiting room for 30 minutes past my appointment and the little exam room for another 15 minutes.
I do, however, have to completely agree with a somewhat frustrated reviewer here who commented on the complete lack of any user manual. This device arrived with one item that I have no idea what to do with. What is it??? They tell you virtually NOTHING about how to use this thing. It took me about 30 minutes of Googling and link-clicking to finally uncover how to do one thing. Perhaps 20 minutes of trial-and-error to figure out another (and I only ultimately succeeded because I had a Nano and so I had a clue about how this all works). What is this new trend of "Here, here's your purchase, you are on your own to figure out how to use it" that we are seeing more and more? I went to the online video user guide, which was mostly a friendly woman telling me that I could do this, this, and the other thing, with no instruction as to how to actually do those things.
At any rate, if you don't mind doing some searching for how to use the iPod if you have never had one, this is absolutely fantastic! What a great little toy! I expected a lot and this has exceeded my expectations. The iPod touch has always been an amazing iPod. And with its groundbreaking technologies--including a Multi-Touch screen, the accelerometer, and 3D graphics--and access to hundreds of games, iPod touch puts an amazing gaming experience in the palm of your hand. Multi-Touch iPod touch features the same revolutionary interface as iPhone.Glide, Flick, Pinch Built to take full advantage of the large 3.5-inch display, the Multi-Touch touchscreen interface lets you control everything using only your fingers. So you can glide through albums with Cover Flow, flick through photos and enlarge them with a pinch, zoom in and out on a section of a web page, and control game elements precisely. How it Works The Multi-Touch display layers a protective shield over a capacitive panel that senses your touch using electrical fields. It then transmits that information to the LCD screen below it. iPod touch software enables the flick, tap, and pinch. Type with the Touchscreen Keyboard iPod touch features an intelligent touchscreen keyboard perfect for browsing the web in Safari, getting directions on a map, searching for videos on YouTube, finding music on the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store, or adding new contacts. Accelerometer iPod touch responds to motion using a built-in accelerometer.Responds to Movement iPod touch detects when you rotate it from portrait to landscape, then automatically changes the contents of the display. So you immediately see the entire width of a web page, view a photo in its proper aspect ratio, or control a game using only your movements. How it Works The accelerometer inside iPod touch uses three elements: a silicon mass, a set of silicon springs, and an electrical current. The silicon springs measure the position of the silicon mass using the electrical current. Rotating iPod touch causes a fluctuation in the electrical current passing through the silicon springs. The accelerometer registers these fluctuations and tells iPod touch to adjust the display accordingly. Perfect for Gaming Accelerometer technology really shines when you play games because it immerses you in the action. It's perfect for racing games--where your entire iPod touch acts as a steering wheel--and for tap-and-tilt games like Super Monkey Ball, in which your character responds to your every movement.
Wireless Connect iPod touch to the Internet anywhere there's a wireless network.Connect Automatically iPod touch locates nearby wireless hotspots, including protected networks. If you've never used a particular network, it asks you to enter a password the first time, and it remembers the password from then on. So the next time you're within range, it connects automatically. Surf's Up Now you can send email from a coffee shop. Surf the web at the airport. Shop for games from your couch. Browse, buy, and download music from the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store at select Starbucks locations or other wireless hotspots in your area.

(nice but probably unnecessary)
(Serves it's purpose well)
(leather GPS case)
(Perfect fit for 255W) Excellent product that represents a terrific addition to the Nuvi product. Of course Nuvi should include something like this in the box with the purchase.
nice quality item but unless you're really concerned about protecting your Nuvi, you can probably live without this, especially for the price This is a basic functional case. You slide your device in one side. Provides adequate protection. case is compact, holds quick start reference guide in outside pocket; small enough to be very portable. At the bottom of the packaging it says that this was designed for nuvi 800, 705, 700, 600, 205W, and 200 series navigation systems. It fits perfectly for the 255W as well.
If you are expecting something that will protect your system while it is in your pocket, this does the trick and it's not ugly. It's nothing more and nothing less. If you are expecting a Coach quality leather protector for just over $10 dollars, you are not very smart.
Also, if you put your system into the sleeve properly it will not turn on; it will just put the nuvi into lock mode which hurts no one.
Lastly, if your nuvi did not come with a wall charger you may want to buy one for it now so you don't have cords stringing all over the place in your car. Chances are you could be eligible for free shipping with the two combined (charger and case).
Little warning on the back of the packaging is a little disturbing:
Warning: This product, its packaging, and its components contain chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects, or reproductive harm. Usually ships in 24 hours customer 's review (Great replacement for my aging Palm PDA.)
It analyzes keystrokes to suggest words as you type and correct spelling errors automatically. And because it's software based, it changes its keys to support typing in multiple languages. iPod touch locates nearby wireless hotspots, including protected networks. |

It started with a simple plan to make a superior T-shirt. A shirt that provided compression and wicked perspiration off your skin rather than absorb it. A shirt that worked with your body to regulate temperature and enhance performance. The technology behind Under Armour's diverse product assortment for men, women, and youth is complex, but the program for reaping the benefits is simple: wear HeatGear when it's hot, ColdGear when it's cold, and AllSeasonGear between the extremes. Under Armour's mission is to make all athletes better through passion, science, and the relentless pursuit of innovation. (Simple, but it WORKS!)
(Probably for smaller heads and light sweat)
(It Works)
(Perfect) The Sweat GUTRÔ is the ultimate performance sweatband for both work and play. It is completely resistant to saturation and works by channeling sweat away from your eyes and glasses using patented MicroLip TechnologyÔ. The problem with traditional sweatbands is that once saturated, they simply don't work. TheSweat GUTRÔ was designed to be lightweight, durable, and extremely comfortable and integrates very well with glasses, hats, helmets, hard hats and other safety head wear. This product works as advertised. If you have problems with sweat in your eyes while riding this is the fix. Received the product this morning and took it on an 80 mile test ride, in 90 degree heat and high humidity. I always wear a helmet and protective glasses (Having a big bug fly into your eye is NOT fun!) and sweat profusely when exercising. A typical ride like this would involve reaching under the glasses hundreds of times to wipe the sweat from the eyes. This trip required about a dozen, and most of these were "phantom" wipes, where there was nothing actually there.
The band feels strange at first. You feel like it's going to shift around a lot, but it settles into place fast. By halfway through the ride I had forgotten it was even there.
I did feel like the gutter might not have been long enough. I can only wear a few helmets on the market due to a very large head and it sometimes felt like the gutter was draining near the outer edge of the eye. It took a little while to realize that it almost never got into the eye and a little longer to just get used to it. I am perpetually in need of a "better" headband to keep sweat out of my eyes during long rides in the south Texas heat and humidity. My bad experience with the Gutr started from the very beginning. The unit is made from a soft plastic, and it includes three elastic bands that attach to the unit and provide a "snugging" mechanism to keep it in place. I wear a size 7.5 hat, and the largest band was too snug for a comfortable fit. However, I persisted...
The next step in the fitting process is to make sure that the unit is appropriately integrated with your helmet. Here is where the fun really begins. With the Gutr at a "natural" feeling position on my forehead (or as natural as it gets), it pushed my helmet quite a bit higher on my forehead than seemed prudent. I did manage to get the Gutr to a position that wasn't TOO distracting by putting its top lip underneath the bottom of my helmet, but that leads to the next issue...
On charity rides, I try to keep up with the "hammerheads" as long as possible from the start. At some point, usually less than 10 miles into a 60 mile ride, it becomes just too much effort to hang-on, and I drop back to a more sustainable pace for the remainder of the ride. Unfortunately, this means that I usually break into a sweat relatively early in a ride, despite the cooler temperatures. Here is where Gutr really let me down. Because it really isn't suitable to replace the sizing pads in my helmet, I still have to use the pads in my helmet. As a result, they absorb sweat and release it down and over the Gutr. Back to being blinded and getting my cycling glasses clouded with salt.
The product may work as intended if I remove the pads from my helmet, but really, I'd rather have my helmet work correctly (I've cracked a couple over the years and won't ride without one). Fortunately, I had shoved my "least hated" headband in my jersey pocket, so that I could swap the Gutr out for it at the first rest stop.
My final dislike of the product? Did I mention that it was plastic? There was a thin strip of my head that really got warm underneath Gutr, ironically causing more sweat underneath and immediately below it.
So, would I recoomend Gutr? No. I am comfortable with the idea that some people may like it, especially if it fits their heads and helmets. However, I was not able to find a good fit, and as a result, I did not find it particularly effective. I also found the product somewhat self-defeating because of the material from which it is manufactured. For me, a fabric sweatband that I can wring out every 10 - 15 miles outperforms it and is more comfortable. The thing works. Its not uncomfortable. It diverts the sweat from above. I'm glad I bought it. I use this to workout P90x and for long runs. It's better than a regular sweatband. No complaints. Lightweight and sleek, this adjustable headband uses MicroLip technology to capture and channel moisture away from your eyes, so you can stay focused on what matters. Completely resistant to saturation and built to last. Easy to wash ? just rinse and go. Rerations < Sweat GUTR Sweatband - Red Logo >
