『as with "SEARCHING FOR BOBBY FISCHER" , but more so , this amazingly gratifying true story (which you can see with the kids) is very smart , well crafted and uplifting . i don't know how long ago it was that ANTHONY HOPKINS established himself as the most mature and exceptional actor of our times . perhaps around 1980 with "THE ELEPHANT MAN" ? perhaps sooner in "MAGIC" . too many fine performances to begin enumerating . one of the best films you'll (hopefully) see .』

『I had read many articles about Burt Munro&his Indian over the years prior to the movie. I was especially intrigued when I discovered that Sir Anthony Hopkins loved the story so much that he took the part for much less than his usual fee. Great story. True story. One that needed to be told.』
『A movie that exudes affection and goodwill,The World's Fastest Indianis an unabashed mash note to a lovely character from New Zealand's recent past. Burt Munro, played by Anthony Hopkins, is a cantankerous Kiwi with an obsession: he's been tinkering with his 1920s-era Indian brand motorcycle for years, pushing it to ever-faster speeds. It's the 1960s, and Burt has the utterly mad idea of taking the bike to the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah, site of world records for speed racing. The movie takes a while to get to the journey--and then the journey takes a while--but the genial atmosphere prevails. (People of a certain age, for whom the word "Bonneville" evokes pleasant associations with hotrods and world-speed records, will not be disappointed in the film's location shooting, or its sense of awe.) Hopkins is not quite on-the-money casting for the jovial, happy-go-lucky Munro, and his accent wavers, but he nails the emotional scenes and the fascination with speed. Smaller bits are well-filled by Diane Ladd and Christopher Lawford (son of Peter), who looks uncannily of the era. (Way better than the 1939 version)
『This movie is probably the only live-action (I'm not counting live action/animation)Disney film that is dark, but awesome. It's more attached to the books than the sugar-coated 1939 version ever was. If L.Frank Baum was alive in the 1980's, then he would have loved this movie.

Probably the scariest scene in the entire movie is when she is trying to get the powder of life from one of Mombi's cases. She's about to get it, and then this happens:
Mombi:Dooorthy Gaaale!
Heads from various women begin to scream as the real headless Mombi rises from her bed. Dorothy quickly grabs the powder of life and runs like there's no tomorrow.

This movie is so underrated and it's much better than the films these days, like those High School Musical crap (where are the goths, nerds, pregnant teens, and rapper-wannabees?) and Twilight (sorry, but I really hate these books/movies).

If you want a good fantasy film, go with this one. Enjoy!』

(The dark side of OZ...)
『An instant classic! Released the year I was born (1985) and remaining STILL one of my favorite films of all time, I was born to collect Oz memorabilia. I feel that this was a film that people really threw to the side and dis honed it. It never really got it's full true debut-which makes me sad. People seem to compare this, just cause it was a sequel, to the 1939 classic. It has NOTHING to do with is at all-it's a film that stands on it's own two feet. Created and written to follow the true spirit and imagination of L. Frank Baum's Oz books, it truly did just that. This is a cult classic and will remain that forever! I am a HUGE Oz fan and "Return" has the key to my heart and everything I have loved, read, and dreamed about Oz! Sure, it's a little too dark and sometimes a little scary, but I think it was made to be just that. A darker side of Oz. What really surprises me is that it was made from Walt Disney. I know that Disney has always been interested in making an Oz film, but I just wish that they would have made so much more of an effort to support it. Sometimes when I mention to people about "Return" they don't know it even exists. I'm like "WHAT!" How could they have never seen this film. Such a shame to have missed out on this childhood film. Everything about this is magical-the characters, actors, costumes, and story! Magic! Find a copy of this (sometimes really hard to find)Buy it, and sit back for a different path down the yellow brick road! Make a trip to "Return To Oz!"』

(This movie is in our darkest nightmares...and our greatest dreams)
『At best, people understand in retrospect that this movie gets a bad rap, simply because of it's connections to Disney and lack of Disney-fied elements. That Disney shut down production of this movie three times during the making of it and then failed to market it to the "appropriate" audience. It was released at the same time as Back to the Future, Out of Africa, and the Breakfast Club. It failed at the box office and is seen to have the same kind of followers as the Dark Crystal and Star Wars. As I mentioned before Disney had absolutely no participation in the actual production and had little knowledge of what a "dark, haunting, and fantastical" movie it was. And yes, despite it's many homages and references to it, it is "NOTHING LIKE THE 1939 CLASSIC"....but...SO WHAT?

To those who actually saw the film and attempted to make comparisons to the 1939 "original", I say you have no right to even share your dissatisfaction. This movie was made just shy of the 50th anniversary of the original release and is therefore completely separate; even in it's attempts to sequel it! How dare film makers make a dark film geared towards children, only Tim Burton is allowed to do that!

As a very young child I was privy to see the 50th anniversary documentary about the "chaos, confusion, and terror" that went on behind the scenes of the MGM flick. While I was captured by the movie itself, I was even more intrigued by the amount of dedication, toil, and tears that went into it. Because of that early dose of reality to this day I see it as retro nostalgia of epic proportions; a beautifully scored train-wreck. To the dismay of fellow movie-goers/film buffs, I love it as much as I despise it. Despite the fact that I still nod to the original cast for their immense talent and ingenuity, I have reconciled to the fact that the entire OZ empire is ironically a complete sham. The man behind the curtain has been revealed. This point proven to me even more by the recent re-release of their NEW REMASTERED BLU RAY DVD AND ALL THE NEW PRETTY SHINYS THAT COME WITH!

It is this pandering and sugar-coating, that made some of us yearn,no- ache, for something like Return to OZ. I will explain why with details too vague to be considered spoilers.

The audience of the original film that was captivated and intrigued as I was,were just as equally captivated by a movie so separate from it. For those who enjoy fantasy films, and are children of the eighties, we have been given many new worlds to explore, ones that our parents could hardly dream of. Once we are apart of this new world, we want to understand it in a deeper way. We want it to always be there for us, to know we always belong there. This is the essence of Return to OZ.

What audiences of this movie would want to remember in viewing this, though I cannot imagine how it is lost on them, is that OZ is a world that exists in the mind of a child. Even the "original" Dorothy can only arrive in OZ with a swift bump on the head. Once she is there, however, this world is to the child what she desires it to be; whether it comforts her, illuminates her, challenges her, frightens her, or empowers her. This is her world.
The world in which she actually exists, one just as dark and frightening, is not her world. This is a universal theme that should be experienced by young children, despite the many elements that may make many parents uneasy.

To ease those parents, I suggest they concentrate on the many wonderful educational experiences their child will receive from this film. First, it should be considered as a period film. Kansas: the dress, the mentality, the family dynamic, the living conditions, etc. are all very true to the time the books were written and were something as a child that I found fascinating (something the original is lacking). Second, the musical score is distinctly instrumental, but breathtakingly beautiful and engaging to any child or adult. Third, the story of friendship and loyalty goes beyond helping your friend find their brain and is wrapped up in themes of memory, love, forgiveness, charity, protection, appreciation, gratitude, accountability, the list goes on...

Finally, if you are still not convinced that this movie deserves 5 stars...I suggest giving it another go...or showing it to a lonely nine year old brunette girl, and see how she reacts to it.

『Finally , after months of searching...me and my sis, finally decided to check on AMAZON---DUHH??!!
Just ordered this movie I have been wanting to see AGAIn, forever!! I AM SOOO HAPPY , cant wait to get it!!
We used to watch this movie ALL THE TIME, when we were kids. It used to F'n FREAK US out but that didnt stop us, we were glued to every minute of the movie.
So I just had to get a copy to show all my nieces and nephews.
This is not the type of movie to purchase if you are looking for something like the Wizard of OZ, or other Disney movies...cause it is soooo diffferent.
BUT ,this is definitely the movie to watch if you just want to see a good fantasy movie---think along the lines of Pans Labyrinth, the neverending story, or Willow.
It is Disney's best movie EVER besides "Watcher in the Woods"---anybody remember that???
Call me crazy but I was one of those kids that actually liked getting freaked out!!
ANyway, I totally LOVE this movie and think it is a must have for anybody who like CLASSIC- ORIGNAL and TIMELESS movies!!

I cant wait to get it to show my neices and nephews next time I babysit them and they "ACT UP"!

(A fun Oz story)
『I enjoyed this movie! I would recommend it to anyone who enjoyed L. Frank Baum's Oz books!』
『You don't fool with Mother Nature, spit into the wind, remakeCasablanca, or trash the land of Oz. Perhaps that is why the 1985 live-action sequel split critics and audiences alike. The 1939 classic musical is so beloved that it's almost impossible to imagine seeing Dorothy in shock therapy, a crumbled yellow brick road, the ruins of Emerald City, and the Tin Man turned into stone. But L. Frank Baum, the author of the originalOzbooks, portrayed just that with his continuing stories of Dorothy. When you get by these tough facts, the film version is solid entertainment for the over-7 set.

Dorothy (a 10-year-old Fairuza Balk in her debut) is back in Kansas, where Aunt Em (Piper Laurie) is at the end of her rope: her niece is not sleeping and going on about a place called Oz. Therapy may be the answer, but luckily the scary clinic goes dark before Dorothy can be, er, cured (but the lead-up will scare the munchkins out of most kids). She wakes up in the land of Oz, now in tatters, and searches for its king, the Scarecrow. A new set of friends, including a tin soldier, a talking chicken, and a pumpkin man, help her against new villains, including Princess Mombi (Jean Marsh)--complete with a set of detachable heads--and the evil Nome King (Nicol Williamson with a great assist from Will Vinton's Claymation). The sole directorial effort of Oscar-winning editor Walter Murch is stuffed with marvelous effects that foreshadow later works by Tim Burton and the Henson non-Muppet films.--Doug Thomas』

My favorite Italian roast is still Tully's Coffee Italian, K-cups for Keurig Brewers, 24-count, Boxes (Pack of 2), although this cup is a good every morning or anytime coffee with that crisp Italian finish.

『I bought this with the expectation that it would work like the other older Canon MP Series I had bought. I use it for wireless printing of text and clip art in both color and black and white. It was easy to set up and the wireless feature is great since we have two laptops in the house and switching cables would be a pain. The print quality is good and it prints fast.

The bad; this thing can't print a color photo on any kind of paper. It prints way too much ink (smears all over clothes and hands) and the photo looks terrible. I would not buy this product for photo printing. I have an Olympus Tough 6000 camera and have tried printing from files on the laptop and direct from the camera. Since I didn't buy it for photo printing, I don't really care and it is too much of a hassle to box it back up and send it back to Amazon even though returns are usually easy with Amazon.

Buy it if you want a cheap printer that can do good text and in color or black and white. Don't buy it if you want to print photos.』

『I purchased this printer after spending weeks going over the reviews of other printers. I replaced an HP printer that I had bought a little over a year ago. The HP was nothing but problems and I wanted a simple printer that would print documents, copy, etc. I don't use my printer for photos because it's much easier and cheaper for me to order prints at Walmart. It's a BIG improvement over the HP. The only problem I've run into was setting up the printer. The diagram showed how to insert the print head and it was very confusing to me. It said to tilt it forward, and the printhead would not go in. I finally tried tilting it the other way and it went in easily. I didn't use the wireless connection. The rest of the set-up was simple.
I've only been using the printer for a few weeks, so don't know about ink usage. One of my tests will be when I want to print mailing labels. The HP would never line up the addresses with the labels correctly, so I'm hoping I don't have a problem with the MP 560. I have, however, printed envelopes, and it worked fine. The printer is also much quieter than the HP, which sounded like it was ready to take off every time I used it. For the price, I'm very happy with this printer. I would strongly recommend this printer for someone who wants a simple all-in-one that's easy to use.』

『I have only had the printer for four weeks so I cannot comment on Ink usage or long term problems.

I unpacked it, plugged it in and installed the software. The only painful part of the process was entering in the WEP key in hex. The character selection process was a bit awkward. Other than that it was a breeze. Of course the printer is sitting four feet from the wireless router.

It works well with Windows XP and Windows 7 x64 both as a printer and a scanner. I have used it to scan in documents for WinFax Pro 10.03 (Windows XP x86) and FaxTalk Messenger Pro 7.5 (Windows 7 x64).

Photos printed on photo paper are incredible.

It allows for manually feeding which many all in ones seem to lack. This means you can print on checks, envelops, different size photo paper, etc.

The standalone copy function is easy to use for single sided copies and produces excellent results even for color copies on standard paper. The only drawback is if you want to make two side copies. It is painfully slow. It does not start the printing process until you have scanned both sides of the original. Then it spends a good deal of time digesting it before it prints the first side, draws the paper back in and prints the reverse side. It does not appear to have enough power/memory to allow you to continue scanning while it is printing.

I bought this to replace an aging bubble jet printer and an aging scanner. But the print quality is such that I may retire my Okidata 10ex laser printer when I use up the spare toner cartridge.』

(Finally... An affordable wireless printer from Canon)
『Previously, I had a desktop setup and used a Canon Pixma iP3000. I'm far from a power-user (at least in terms of print output), and that setup worked quite well for me.

Not too long ago, I replaced my desktop system with a laptop and figured since I had a wireless setup in my apartment, I would look for an affordable wireless printer/all-in-one from Canon (I'm a Canon fan). At the time, Canon had various wireless printers/all-in-ones available IF you wanted to spend upwards of $200. And I really (really) wanted duplex printing like the iP3000 offered...

When the MP560 was released, I was rather happy. Print quality, at least to me, is similar to the iP3000 and the addition of autoduplexing made this purchase a no-brainer. While wireless setup was not that difficult for me, it does require following the setup instructions that accompanied the printer. (Not sure why you wouldn't do that, honestly...). I had to hunt for my wireless key/passwords, though. If you don't have those, wireless setup will prove difficult.

Overall? A quality printer for the price. Ink consumption seems average to slow. Autoduplexing is a great feature. And the copy/scan capabilities are good. I have zero complaints other than I wish the machine had an "auto-off" and "auto-on" feature like the iP3000 did.』

SanDisk is not the only good brand; I've had only good experiences with my Kingston 4GB class 4 SDHC card. I had two off-brand 32GB class 6 cards that both failed on about their second use, so I read the reviews and chose this SanDisk 16GB class 4 (still fast enough for the highest bitrate setting on my Canon HF200). At the rist of beating a dead horse, it works perfectly after several uses.』

Class 6 is "required" by Panasonic for the video mode, but this card in real world speeds exceeds the data rate that this camera pushes out. From my experiance, this card is just as reliable for a third of the price of a class 6 (or class 10 as SanDisk has now).』

I have owned many compact cameras in the past because of not wanting to carry around a larger SLR camera. I suffered in picture quality. Do not make the same mistake I did, taking a compact camera on vacation to Italy. Once back home making a memories album,a majority of pics were out of focus.

『Fantastic camera. I was up and running immediately taking great pictures. This is the ideal choice for someone who wants the ease of a point and shoot camera with the features of an SLR. The Optical Zoom delivers outstanding shots and clarity. The only drawback I have seen with the camera has already been posted by others. I thought that the reviewers were nitpicking about issues with the lens cap falling off, but it is frustrating that the cheapest part of the camera can put your lens at risk. (What were they thinking?)
『The most expensive and also the most ridiculous webcam I've ever bought.

First, the cord is so short that I had to drive down to Best Buy and buy an extension USB cable just to be able to use it in any reasonable manner. You'd think that for $100 they wouldn't skimp on cord length? (this is the shortest USB cord I've ever *seen*)
Also I was unable to use this camera with Logitech's own camera software on XP because every time I loaded it, a dialog would come up asking me if I wanted to enable some automatic lighting function, and every time I answered it - no matter what I answered - my computer would instantly shut off.
Third, the only way to stand this camera up is atop a stand about 1 foot tall, with a base only about 2 inches across , so (especially given the extremely short cord they provide) keeping this camera standing up is almost impossible. A little bit of common sense would have had them provide a base with a little bit more leverage..

Come to think of it, if you actually have a notebook PC I guess you don't need the (practically useless) stand it comes with, and neither do you need a longer cord because it just clips onto the top of the screen. So basically my recommendation is this: don't buy this webcam if you have a desktop PC.』

『I was a bit nervous about buying the bag because of its price. It was less than 100 dollars which typically means it'll last about a month before coming apart at the seams. I went ahead with it anyway and after a month I can say its a great bag. I travel every week and it still looks like I took it out of the box. It fits perfectly into airplane overhead cabins and yet expands to fit everything I need. Its no tumi, but works well.』

『I've just returned from three plus weeks in China, where I used this suitcase and an over the shoulder bag. I was concerned that it wouldn't be big enough after I made my purchases in China but I still had room for my new clothes and gifts. The bag still looks new despite all the travel (I visited five cities during my stay). Lightweight, easy-to-use, no problems whatsoever. I had considered picking up another Delsey bag, a larger one, while in China, since they're manufactured in Shenzhen, but found I didn't need it. When I need another suitcase, though, it will definitely be a Delsey. Unlike the prior reviewer, Wanda, I was able to use this as a carry-on on my flights to and from China as well as within China, and did not need to pay any extra fees (even though I slightly exceeded the weight limits). Also, the ordering was easy and trouble-free, I received the order within a week of ordering.』

『I think most people either really like the idea of the Snuggie, or they really feel disdain for it. I thought it was a brilliant idea, and have had my eye on one since last winter. Since I am in charge of the heating bill, I am always looking for ways to cut back. So far, I have not been able to break my husband down enough to use one, but I may get there. I received the Pink Snuggie as a birthday gift about a month ago, and I was impressed with how soft it is. It is a campy and fun bubble gum/Barbie pink, and surprisingly warm considering the obviously inexpensive fabric it is made of. The fabric pills badly when you wash it, but it gets even softer with multiple washings. Hey, I am not using this thing for the looks of it, so that is fine. It is nice and long so you can really stretch out and still be fully covered - at 5'9, my legs usually peek out from under a throw, so I like this aspect quite a bit. This does considerably impede any attempt to walk around while wearing the Snuggie, and unless you like tripping and falling on your face, I don't really recommend it. I tried walking around in it a few times the first day by hiking it up and dragging it with me, but my husband said I looked like a pink friar, so I gave it up.

Another nice aspect is that a considerable donation is made to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation with your purchase. It also comes with a free booklight that sheds a very small amount of light onto your current reading material. I haven't used it yet but to test it out to see if it worked.

Overall, I am pleased with this blanket, as it is cozy and my pup likes to lay on my lap when I put it on. I may get a second one as a backup, and will probably get the dog her own Dog Snuggie for Christmas.』

『We needed a one cup coffee maker for our home because we were wasting pot after pot when brewing based on different schedules. I did a fair amount of research and decided that the seemingly superior mechanics combined with the outstanding coffee selection made the Keurig the better choice (versus Tassimo) although the other systems do have the ability to froth milk we thought the coffee selection was a bigger factor.
We have had the B70 for a month now and have made a hundred or so cups of coffee through it and we could not be happier!
It's a great machine that delivers an outstanding cup of coffee.
The xtra bold kcups contain 30% more coffee and if you're brewing a bug cup (travel mug) and like it on the strong side look at those selections first. The coffee people organic is hard to beat. We also love Timothy's xtra bold offerings.
A great added bonus is the ability to make tea and iced tea, we drink as much teacas coffee and the selection of kcup teas in very good. All in all this is one of my favorite purchases in many years and I plan to buy another for my office!!』

『We have owned our Keurig B70 for 21 months. It has performed like a champ. I turned my folks onto it, and theirs has worked perfectly, as well. We brew about 6-10 cups of coffee every day over the course of the day and my wife and I drink coffee at different times, so a drip coffee maker just didn't work for us. We use large mugs and get one 12oz and one 4oz brew from each k-cup, so 16oz at a time. The coffee is always piping hot, even when mixed with cold half/half or heavy cream, and depending on which k-cup brand/type the coffee can be mild to very strong even with 16oz from a single k-cup. Because we love it, we put up with the fact that ours is somewhat louder than usual and tends to vibrate more than usual. We actually have placed it on a cut to size vibration absorbing mat, since we have granite counter tops, which accentuate the vibration. Adding the mat really helped settle it down. For the first 14 months we had a lot of scale buildup and I found that, simply running white vinegar through the machine(30-60oz of vinegar/water at a time) would clean it out, I only had to do it twice and the scale never affected performance. Based on that, I would say it is very low maintenance even with bad water. I can't imagine going back to filters, grounds, and all the cleaning of a traditional coffee maker again. Some may complain that they don't like the coffee(there are some k-cups I find rather displeasing myself). I have had better cups of coffee from an espresso machine(Americano) with a skilled Barista, however, I think the coffee tastes very good and I am a little particular. There is quite a large selection available and if you shop during sales you can get the k-cups for as little as .20-.40 each or from Keurig direct for as little as .47 per k-cup at regular pricing with membership(free shipping factored in). The speed and convenience has saved us many stops at Starbucks or their ilk and no doubt our keurig has paid for itself several times over.

『I first bought a Keurig Brewer for my office. I loved it so much, I had to have one for my home also. It is perfect for a family. We don't all drink the same hot drinks. I like coffee, my teenage daughter prefers hot tea. My hubby's favorite is hot cocoa. The Keurig allows each of us to have the hot drink of our choice.

The features I like on the B70: four choices of cup size, auto off, programable on and off times, and large water reservoir. The Keurig Brewer I have at my office is a smaller version. Would I again pay extra for the B70 to get a few more bells and whistles? Probably not. I am happy with the B40 at the office. I think as long as you buy a model with a water reservoir, you will be happy. I don't think, however, you will be happy with the smallest model where you have to add water each time you brew a cup of coffee.

One disappointment we have is the way cocoa brews. It tends to come out weak. We opened a cup after it brewed and found most of the cocoa mix had not even gotten wet. My hubby brews his cocoa, then opens the cup and pours any extra powder or syrup into his cup. It's not much trouble, and he doesn't seem to mind the extra step, but I would. That is the reason I gave the machine 4 stars instead of 5. If you don't drink cocoa, consider this product a 5.

Another thing, since we are making coffe, flavored teas, and cocoa all with the same machine, we brew a cup of hot water after each use to rid the machine of any left over flavors. Only takes a minute, and it keeps the brewer fresh for the next user. We use water filtered through a Brita filter in our Keurig. It's convenient to have a pitcher of filtered water sitting nearby the coffee brewer.

I like the Keurigs so much, I plan to give several away to family and friends this Christmas!』

I have 2 minor issue with the brewer. 1. when you store the unit there is no way for the water in the inner tank to be drained. 2. the quiet brew it isn't really quiet. but it is not as loud as B60 that is for sure. Had they allow the unit to be completely drain of water when storing, i would have given it 5 stars.』

『My daughter is 20 months old and loves music, but this is by far her favorite CD. Better still, her father, brother (age 12), and I all love it, too! This is a classic collection, with traditional children's songs done in the post-war style of the 1950s. You've probably never heard any songs from it, but it's probably the album you're imagining when you think of getting a CD of French songs for your child. The language is very clear and the songs are enjoyable even if you don't know most (or any!) of the vocabulary. The only problem with the CD is that the liner notes do not include the lyrics; however, because these are traditional songs, you can find the lyrics online. If it had the lyrics in the liner, I'd want to give it 6 stars!』

The workout includes six sections&finishes with a dance that involves many of the learned moves. The movements are strong enough to get my heart pumping after only two sections - yet they are moderate enough so that a person can do the entire workout. Would definately buy it again.』

(Luscious - Bellydance Workout; for Beginner? NOT!)
『This is another great DVD from WDNY However, I would not recommend it for any Beginner Student, as I think it is more for someone at Intermediate or Advance level. One the positive side -- I love the dance movements, the way the movements are grouped, the costumes, lighting, etc.

But on the negative side, the directions (left and right) threw me off. I guess I am used to "mirroring" the dance instructor -- whether on a DVD or at a dance workshop; without using an actual mirror. When I teach my dance classes, I use a mirror -- so when I call out left or right, it is actually left or right.

Another thing that irritated me on this DVD (and many others) is having any type of "Welcome" speech. Welcome speeches and Introductions should be placed on the video, as an optional chapter feature. You only need to hear it just ONE time! I time my workouts and it is irritating to have to fast forward through the Welcome or Introduction each time I use a DVD. The welcome/introductions are so inconvenient. I find myself shouting at the TV, just shut up and get to the dancing!!!

I teach beginner students, but won't recommend this one to them (yet); but will recommend it to my more advanced or intermediate students.』

『We just received this video and we just love it! It's a little different from the rest of the Wiggles videos, and it has more of a "country" flavor. Meaning, a good portion of the songs sound like they came from Nashville. That's not a bad thing because we really like it, but it is just different from the Wiggles other videos. Greg has a nice voice for country music too and I think he's realized that since he has released a regular country album.

Anyway, this video was done as if they're in their Wiggly World (the Wiggles shows on Playhouse Disney), complete with the bumble bee in the beginning. They do a song on an animated train that is worth the cost of the video itself. It is just adorable! I've been asked to put this video in time after time and well, it's not worn out yet but I'm wondering if I should have purchased the DVD! Highly recommend!』

There's a lot to be said for this video. The music, dancing, special guests, and the graphics, which present the Wiggles in their own little "neighborhood," with the likes of Captain Feathersword, Dorothy the Dinosaur, Henry the Octopus, the Wiggly Dancers (who are actually many of the younger children now grown up, and who do a marvelous job in the ensemble chorus as pirates.) Some memorable songs come from the guests like Slim Dusty, and other celebrities in Australia. I liked the song "Blow Me Down," and "It's a Wiggly World."

『My 2-year old loves this video -- we all enjoy the good opening/closing song, lots of train pix, and other little kid characters... BUT! The dialoge is irritatingly cheesey, and the"Smokey Jones"character is not only totally hokey, but shows little kids that it's okay for them to go away to"magic train land"with a strange man by holding on to his rear end! Who wrote this? Do yourself a favor and stick to"Thomas the Tank Engine"and"Trains: Up Close&Personal"!』

(excellent after a little use)
『It takes a little time to get comfortable with turning the pages as you are reading. After that it is wonderful. The light is bright and crisp and does not disturb my husband as I'm reading in bed. I was really irritated with traditional book lights and the 'hot spot' that they make. The lightwedge has even light across the page, and doesn't strain my eyes. I have both the paperback size and the hardcover size for ease of use, but the paperback size can be used with hardcover books with a little extra effort of moving it around.

I liked mine so much that I bought one for my Dad, and he bought another one for camping, then another one for my Mom. My Grandmother saw it and bought one, and now a good friend just bought one after using mine. If you use it once, it is difficult to return to a traditional book light.

You do have to protect the plastic from getting scratched. If you store it in a case, or use it as a book mark you should be fine.

(Good idea and usable, but needs a Rev. B to correct flaws)
『This is a great idea for an alternative to the gooseneck-type booklights: It spreads the light across the whole page rather than just a spot; the acrylic plate handily keeps the page open with little effort, and obviates the need for a cumbersome clip at the top of your book.

The main flaw is the same as with every other booklight: The LEDs they're using for the light source are at once too harsh and too dim. Given that this product's LEDs are pointing laterally into the acrylic rather than directly at (perpendicular to) the page means it's even dimmer. I would rather have some over-engineered industrial-strength incandescents as light sources (assuming that the bizarre, retro-fascistic 2008 law "banning" incandescent bulb manufacture in 2014 or whenever is not repealed *before* it can inflict its lunatic damage,) but a better lighting solution is clearly needed to do this excellent "transparent plate" idea justice. I don't know the physics of how light behaves when directed sideways into a transparent mass, but I'm thinking that some type of refraction grating or prism application would direct the light more efficiently? Mirror coating on the outer edges?

At any rate, it's too dim and fades too quickly in terms of battery power, even with Lithiums. Which brings me to the second flaw: The unit is only powered by AAA batteries, and the compartment has this little conductive metal clip that sits between them and...it's loose, as in: Detached from the rest of the product. I don't remember if it was ever attached, but right now I have to hold it carefully in place between the batteries, then sneak the lid shut before it all springs skyward. I assume it used to be attached, which since I've only opened the battery cover twice means it's intolerably delicate. Look guys, I'm happy to pay a couple extra bucks to cover the cost of the .01 grams of extra plastic molding it would take to secure that thing. If you won't build it to last, why build it? Doubling the battery capacity too would likely increase the life and quality of the light - or maybe it would be better to just integrate a compartment that will accomodate a 9V and adjust the circuit accordingly. Or maybe incorporate the same kind of rechargable lithium/nicad/whatever that our cellphones use?

The last drawback is that the acrylic plate apparently has no scratch-resistant coating of any kind on it, which means that in less than a couple of months of careful usage, mine already has an annoying network of Nazca-like runways and swirls all over it, and a bunch of little dust flecks/pits that can't be wiped off. Eyeglass manufacturers have used scratch-resistant coatings for decades that make plastic lenses virtually impervious even to demonstration scrubs with SOS pads. Application of that kind of coating to a product whose entire function is to be a window for text ought to be a no-brainer.

So I'll continue to use this, but hope beyond hope that they'll re-think the design and build some practicality and longevity into it. I can't claim to have done any marketing studies, but I personally would be happy to pay twice the price for something that was built like a tank and provided perfect, consistent lighting. IOW, I question the assumption that no market exists for a booklight that's better quality than minimum-function plastic but happens to cost more than $25 as a result.

『We have two long haired dogs and this does well for vacuuming the hair that collects in corners (on hard floors). It does well on dry messes too (sand, coffee, soil, etc). It's handy for vacuuming the car as well. It will get the majority of the mess off the carpet, but it does not get down into the fibers of the carpet so you are better off using a normal vacuum for that. Also, it does not get dog hair out of carpeted stairs.』

『Have only had this vac a few months, so I can't assess the important issue of battery life, which is my most important criteria for hand vacuums. But, I do like everything about this vac so far. Two likes are:

1. Lightweight - Easy to slide into hard to reach places without getting "tennis elbow" doing so. Won't remove deep seated items, but that's not why I buy these small, convenient vacs.

2. Power Connection - Many vacs I've owned in the past have bulky power docs that never seem to mount conveniently or sit stably when I need to charge&store the vac. This model has a simple, small power plug that slips into the end of the vac and allows me to store the vac in the kitchen in a wine bottle basket and hide the cord.... I found a blue wicker wine bottle basket that matches the vacs color and holds the vac like it was made for it. No one even knows that my vac is in the kitchen. All those worthless wall mount power stations are usually placed in the garage out of sight. So, this vac stays where it belongs and where I use it.

If this vac has good battery life, it will get my A+ rating ....... more later.』

But the one thing I've learned is that the use of any AA battery that is not lithium questions the quality of this product. Non lithium AA batteries last at most for weeks but with lithium batteries you are looking at at least 6 months between those annoying and incredibly inconvenient "low-battery" alarms.』

『This is one of the best irons I have ever used. The only thing I have against this iron is that if you use a lot of steam (which I love and use a lot), you need to refill the tank more often. Everything else is wonderful about this Rowenta iron. I always knew Rowenta was the best (this one is made in Germany) but I didn't know it was going to be THIS great. It doesn't spit out water (which I had read on some reviews), it is heavy but not too heavy and it irons everything very smoothly and quickly. My husband's shirts haven't looked like this in a long time! I am very happy with this iron and recommend for anyone!』

『My old Rowenta was a solid workhorse. Unfortunately the plug cracked and I have not found someone to replace it. I figured since I had a great experience with my first Rowenta I would purchase another.
From the very first use, I was not happy. It heats up too hot and melted the blouse I wanted to iron. If it isnt set at the minimal low setting to get steam it sticks on the clothes and before you know it you have melted material. I think the only material it has not messed up is jeans.
I should have returned this iron after the first use, but my busy husband tossed the box and receipts the day I got it and of course it was trash pick up day.
I will now look for another brand of iron to replace this one. I do prefer one that heats up fast and has great steam but to ruin clothes as much as this one did they lost me as a customer. Think very thoroughly if you have delicate clothes to iron and are entertaining the thought to purchase this one. Along with the receipt for the iron I wish I had the receipts for the clothes ruined and I would have sent the package to Rowenta for a refund.』

Combination Smoke/Carbon Monoxide Alarm
The Kidde Combination Carbon Monoxide&Smoke Alarm includes a voice warning system that eliminates confusion and clearly warns you and your family of a smoke or carbon monoxide (CO) danger, or if your battery is in need of replacement or your alarm is in hush mode.

Alarm Warnings
Fire:The red LED will flash and be accompanied by three long alarm beeps followed by a verbal warning message "Fire! Fire!" The alarm will repeat the pattern until smoke is eliminated. View movie showing voice warning

Carbon Monoxide:Four short alarm beeps followed by a verbal warning "Warning! Carbon Monoxide!" This continues until the unit is reset or the CO is eliminated. View movie showing voice warning

Low Battery:One chirp followed by warning "Low Battery." The red LED light will flash. This pattern will continue every minute for the first hour. After the first hour, the red LED light will flash once every minute and will be accompanied by the chirp sound. The "Low Battery" warning will only sound once every fifteen minutes.

By pressing the Hush button, you can easily and safely silence nuisance alarms caused by non-emergency situations, such as overcooked dinners.

This feature desensitizes the alarm for approximately 10 minutes. If the smoke is not too dense, the alarm will silence immediately, the unit will verbally announce "Hush Mode Activated", and the green LED will flash every 2 seconds for approximately 10 minutes.

Reliable Battery Power, Indicator LED, Test Feature and Low-Battery Warning
The battery powered alarm provides continuous protection, even during power outages. Because this alarm only helps protect you if it's working, this unit features a red LED that flashes every 30 to 40 seconds to indicate that it is operating correctly. For additional peace of mind, the alarm also contains a test/reset button that enables you to periodically test its circuitry and horn.

If any form of battery failure is detected the red LED light will flash and the unit will "chirp" one time, followed by the warning message "Low Battery." This cycle will occur once every minute, and will continue for at least seven days.

Seven (7) years after initial power up, this unit will "chirp" every 30 seconds. This is an "operational end of life" feature which will indicate that it is time to replace the alarm. UL 2034, the independent standard applicable to CO alarms, requires CO alarms to have an end of life warning. This requirement went into effect in March 2007, meaning any CO alarm manufactured after April 2007 with a UL listing must have this feature.
