I was looking for something cheap as my first drill. From checking many different stores and drills, this was the best choice for the money. I used this successfully for installing 3 over-the-range microwaves. I bought large Irwin drill bits to cut big holes through drywall and cabinetry, and this drill performed fine. This also
saves you a ton of time having to use a screwdriver to assemble something.

FYI: The 20 accessories that come with this drill are drill bits and screwdriver bits. They are of good quality and that alone saves you some $10-$15 bucks from having to buy it separately with another drill.

This is not a hammer drill so you will not be able to drill through concrete or other strong material. Some places of drywall was difficult for me to drill through, but with maximum drill power and forward-force I was able to make it through.

The battery lasts well for me, one thing that is good is to keep charging it in between working, or while you are taking 30mins for a lunch break. It held its charge for over 2 weeks when I had it in storage between uses.

One suggestion is to have some kind of indicator to let you know when it's fully charged. There are no lights whatsoever to tell you it's charging or it's got a charge. But if you do it like me and plug it in the night before working then you're fine.

Again, for $50 bucks shipped you can't beat this drill. If you're looking for the best then go for DeWalt, but if you need something around the house, or maybe helping out a neighbor install whatever, this is an excellent choice.』

I like the compact design that lets me use it in more places and it should be less tiering. I can't comment of performance because I have not really used it much yet. 『I picked this up for $40 on sale in a local store. It's adequate for most tasks, but no better.

The battery can only be charged when it's plugged into the drill, so you can't alternate between two to keep working. It doesn't have a variable speed setting, so controlling the speed when driving screws is hard. The battery capacity seems small, plus there's no charge level indicator on the device or charger, so you don't know when it's fully recharged. Finally, the RPM is very low compared to equivalents--getting through steel is going to take you a while.

If you can get it on sale for a reasonable price, and don't want to do too many adventurous things with a power drill, consider giving it a look.』

『I highly recommend this product to anyone looking to sharpen their kitchen/pocket knives.

Spyderco Sharpmaker is not really any different than regular sharpening stones. It simply takes a small stone and places it in a way that it maintains a proper angle for edge refinement. I never managed to get knives shaving sharp using japanese whetstones, and that's because I am unable to keep perfect 15 or 20 degree angle of blade to stone by hand. Sharpmaker takes care of that! All you need to do is make sure that you keep the blade vertical as you slide it over the stones. This keeps the angle consistent and assures perfect edge. Furthermore, alternating sides with each stroke assures even sharpening and reduces the burr to minimum.

If you're like me and want a shaving sharp edge on your knives, but cannot achieve that using regular flat stone, then get a sharpmaker! You won't regret it! And for "scary sharp" edge also get a pair of ultrafine stones (204UF) - they can get the edge honed so well you'll be literally afraid of it!』

But don't worry about the learning curve. The length of the instructions is due to the fact that you can sharpen anything with this including nail clippers and potato peelers. For a plain edge knife it's two pages, most of which is pictures. It's a fantastic tool. The video is fabulous but you don't need to watch it to use the sharpener. The entrepreneur behind this gadget is a great teacher. He starts with how our prehistoric ancestors sharpened stone tools. Any cook who knows how to chop should own this - it's as simple slicing an onion - and for anyone into tools you are going to love this thing.』

『My .02, I have nil experience sharpening knives and had a dull Schrade LB7 from thirty years ago. I used the Sharpmaker on it and it shaves hair off my arm. I also purchased the ultra fine ceramic rods and makes it even sharper than the fine ceramic rods do.

My mistake at first was going to fast and sloppy. I have much better results going very slow with good form and enough pressure without slipping or breaking the sharpener.

『Let me just assure everyone that I have read the book of this movie and am not a government spy bent on brainwashing people to love terrible movies. I must confess though I watched this movie before I read the book and I could actually tell what was going on. The plot works very well, picking the best parts out of a book and making slight adaptations is not an easy spell but the movie makers get an O for this. They clearly defined the plot and did a good job of explaining the story to non-readers. I confess though when I saw the movie I was suddenly possesed with a determination to hate the series and kept a broad distance from it. But suddenly I found myself in desperate need to bring my school reading grade up so reluctantly picked this book up. Reading it I could remember some things from the movie I had viewed so long ago and found some unsavory parts that I felt were fixed in the movie. After reading the book I decided to watch the movie and found to my amazement that I loved it even more than the book. It brought me fully into the series then any of the books could've Since then I have been a Harry Potter fan and have read every book.

Now enough about that story which was made to make you feel sorry for me and think of me as a legitamant source. I thought the acting was very well done. Harry potter as portrayed very well by Daniel Radcliffe, though I do find very suspicous that he shares the last name of the producer hmmm... Oh well all's well that ends well, he was good.The actors who play the other roles were excellent as well. but the actor who shined among the rest was Richard Harris. He was truly made that role and I always felt relaxed and felt as if he was actually trying to impart the wisdom to all of us as well as to Harry. He delivered the earwax gag excellently and I laughed so hard. The special effects are also amazing. The spells looked so real I almost thought that wizards did exist. I really have no complaints for the movie and think it was a perfect adaptation of the book.

Now as for the bonus materials, that's another story in itself. Navigating the Hagwarts corridors, buying your own wand, and looking for the Sorcerors Stone sounds a hundred times more appealing then it really is. It can only be described by one thing, a tedious excuse for a bonus disk. Instead of saying ; here's the deleted scenes, here's the bloopers, you have to navigate the badly represented Hogwarts grounds, in order to find the simplest of things. If I want a badly made video game I'll go to Sega thank you very much. But the DVD's good so it evens out. Good work keep it up!』

『This is the movie that set the tone for the series. It is a masterful piece of directing--adapted from J. K. Rowling's book. The actors were well-cast for their roles and aside from the children, I think Snape's character is the best. After wearing out my VHS copy of this movie, I'm happy to now have the DVD version.』

(I'm Not One To Complain About A Long Movie But Man This Was Long)
『The first film adaptation of J.K. Rowling's popular books. I like it but it feels overly long. In one of the few movies with a primarily young cast that actually have brilliant performances, each capturing the essence of the characters from the books. The leads are definitely the highlights of the film and have continued to get better. What helps I think is that they're surrounded by vetern actors Richard Harris, Maggie Smith, Alan Rickman, Robbie Coltrane, Julie Walters etc. much like Christopher Reeve was in the first Superman. My main complaint on what keeps this from getting a full five stars is that the director is trying to literally adapt the book. True there are sections and characters missing like Peeves the Poltergeist, the sub-plot of Ron (or someone else, I can't remember exactly who right now) telling Neville to stand up for himself (which would explain why stands up to the threesome near the end but I guess not wanting his house to lose anymore points is a good enough reason) and the midnight duel with Malfoy, which in the book, leads Harry and the others to Fluffy, not walking in there by mistake after the staircase changes. But some scenes could've been trimmed. The Quidditch scene, Harry and Ron being late for Transfiguration and the goblins scene in Gringotts. I think they could've just cut to Harry and Hagrid arriving at his vault after Hagrid points and tells Harry about the wizarding bank but then again that's just my opinion. John Williams provides the music again and its good but I think its not up to his usual quality like the other films of his I've reviewed. I know he's going for the fantasy aspect in some cues but I just don't like it. Even the actions sequences feel boring. And is it just me or, besides the scene in the reptile house, does Harry not perform any magic in this movie?』

The Lost World - Jurassic Park
In the low tradition of knockoff horror flicks best seen (or not seen) on a drive-in movie screen, Steven Spielberg's sequel toJurassic Parkis a poorly conceived, ill-organized film that lacks story and logic. Screenwriter David Koepp strings along a number of loose ideas while Jeff Goldblum returns as Ian Malcolm, the quirky chaos theoretician who now reluctantly agrees to go to another island where cloned dinosaurs are roaming freely. Along with his girlfriend (Julianne Moore) and daughter, Malcolm has to deal with hunters, environmentalists, and corporate swine who stupidly bring back a big dino to Southern California, where it runs amok, of course. Spielberg doesn't seem to care that the pieces of this project don't add up to a real movie, so he hams it up with big, scary moments (with none of the artfulness of those inJurassic Park) and smart-aleck visual gags (a yapping dog in a suburb mysteriously disappears when a hungry T-rex stomps by). Surpassing expectations to qualify as an above-average sequel,Jurassic Park IIIis nothing more or less than a satisfying popcorn adventure. In truth, they're on a search-and-rescue mission to find their missing son (Trevor Morgan), and their plane crash is just the first of several enjoyably suspenseful sequences. The design is slightly different, it makes the case look like a well loved/read leather bound book a little tattered, but this had no effect on the DVD's playback.』

Lord of the Rings, the `Gone with the Wind' of the sci-fi fantasy film. The name of these 3 legendary novels has weaved itself deeply into our modern day culture. Whether you read `The Hobbit' in grade school or have read the Tolkien lore time and time again there is no doubt that this original saga is a treasure of that last century.

Turning this epic novel saga into a full length feature film was something that probably every major name in directing wanted to do. Yet, Lord of the Rings may be the most difficult film saga to be created. The story is abundant with characters of all kinds. The plot is rich with detail and the pages of the book themselves describe everything from the way a person walks to a town or landscape down to the last grain of soil. So it was Peter Jackson who decided to rise up and take the task of creating this film. In a time where film making technology has reached a golden age it was time not just to make one film but make a trilogy. It was decided not to film each piece at a time but rather film all three simultaneously and it was something that Mr. Jackson could not accomplish alone. There is a long list of writers, artists, actors editors, and yes millions of fans that lead to the completion of this project. The Lord of the Rings can be summed up in one word. That word is PERFECT.

I have seen a great many films in my life and my favorites would have to be the saga pieces. This saga is a mind blowing masterpiece and getting Oscar for best picture in 2003 sealed its page in the book of fantastic films. I will not review each film individually because they are not meant to be seen individually. The cast is brilliant and the fact that not a single actor was singled out for an individual performance only made it better. The creation of these films was a team effort. Yes there are a few major plot points removed from these films and there are some things that were changed around. I feel as a person who has read the novels and seen the films, feel that these changes were for the best. The books themselves have some dead spots that could be done without and there are characters that really have no place in the story as a whole, but it was very admirable of Jackson to pay homage to the fan favorite Tom Bombadil in the extended edition of `The Two Towers'. The extended editions of these films only make them better as they do make them lengthier. Jackson and the crew really wanted to make these films special so once they did their job in the theaters they called the cast and crew back to add new scenes and extend old ones to make the films truer to the story and enhance the development of the characters. The score done beautifully by Howard Shore is also extended and you can even purchase extended edition soundtracks. The special effects played a major role in this film and they worked the creatures looked extremely lifelike especially Gollum. By using a brand new kind of CGI technology called motion capture, Andy Sirkis was transformed into the somber, mysterious creature that LOTR fans love. The battle sequences in breathtaking and so intense there were moments that kept me on the edge of my seat. The ability to make actors like Elijah Wood and John Rys-Davis look like they were pint size compared to a towering Orlando Bloom or Ian McKellen was done flawlessly. The make-up on all the cast members be it Orc or Elf really brought the Tolkien world off the pages and into reality. Still, I feel that what truly made this film beautiful was the location. New Zealand is a lost world most of the country still untouched by industry. The land still looks like something out of a fairy tale. Through computers and sets, The Shire, Minas Tirith, Rivendell and all the other major cities were brought to life exactly as they are described in the novels.

Even if you are not a fan, I would still suggest seeing these three films. It has nothing to do with the fact that they are fantasy or anything to that extent. It's just because this cinematic marvel goes up there with films such as Gone with the Wind, Casablanca, and Lawrence of Arabia to the more modern day greats like Dances With Wolves and Braveheart. There probably will come a day where a film graces the big screen with this degree of grandeur, but I am quite sure it will be a long time until then.

    『I recieved my Omron fat monitor a few weeks ago and so far I am pleased with it. I had been measureiing my fat loss with a Tanita scale and had been a little disapointed with the swings in the readings. The info on the Omron said that it was more reliable and accurate determinate of body fat, so I said what the heck. I purchased my unit from Amazon and so far I am very pleased with my purchase. The measurements are always very close and as long as I enter in my weight if I loose or gain lbs. it appears to be accurate. I thought it was a good price also.』

    『This product does a great job of providing you with a general idea of where you are at bodyfat percentage-wise and whether you are trending down or up, but it seems like a lot of different variables affect the reading. For instance, my % cycles from a high of 20.2 to a low of 19.1%. I've been steadily losing fat as my waist has gone from 36.5 to 35.25inches so it should be going down. These variables range from what time you take a reading, to how much fluids you've consumed, to whether you have your arms streched out the same amount each time you use the OMRON.

    For how much it costs, it does a decent enough job - just don't expect a super consistant reading from day to day!』

    『The big advantage of this battery design is its easy installation and removal from the collar. The battery is Lithium so is naturally long lasing. I install the battery when I put the dog outside with his collar on, and remove it when he comes in and I remove the collar and battery. As a result, I am on my fourth year with the same battery and it still measures 6.02 volts and operates the collar quite well.

    My original collar uses a standard 2032 lithium battery which also has a long service life, but must be installed and removed by removing and replacing two small screws and by being careful to maintain the collar's waterproof features. It was too much trouble to install and remove the battery every time I put the collar on or took if off. As a result, I was lucky to get more than five months life per battery!』

    『Amazon had the best prices I found , particularly with free shipping when buying enough to get over the $25 threshold . Don't know how they made money because each package of 2 batteries was shipped separately .

    But Petsafe seems to believe in milking the customers for unnecessarily expensive proprietary modules embedding the batteries in the waterproof cap and O ring .

    I understand newer models from competitors are now available with rechargeable batteries and in fact greater range . I'd shop for them before getting collared ;) by the Petsafe system again .』

    『I went back and forth between the panasonic breadmaker and the zojirishu breadmaker. After reading all the reviews i went with the panasonic because it has a more durable bread pan.

    I am so glad I bought the Panasonic bread maker. It is very easy to use, makes perfect bread (8 loaves so far with no duds) the crust is beautiful. I was concerned about the shape of the bread at first. I wanted the zoji because it made traditional shaped loaves.

    I was delighted when i got the panasonic and made my first loaf. It is square and perfect shaped for sandwiches.

    the paddle always stays with the pan, it does not stick in the loaf.
    The pan is very thick and durable and is anodized. a slight shake and the bread slides right out.

    i highly recommend this product』

    『So far so good! I've used it a few times and have only had two disasters - both of which were probably my fault! I am a bit concerned that after only the first use, the coating already started to chip off the inside of the pan, but it doesn't seem to be getting any worse, so we'll see how it goes. It's a little loud and bounces around a bit, but I understand this is common with breadmakers, and isn't a problem for us. Also, there seems to be some slight burning or scorching to the inside of the unit and I hope this doesn't become any worse. Otherwise I'm very pleased with the results. The bread is yummy and I'm pleased that I can select the size. I made croissants the other day and would warn that they take time and work! The results are well worth it however. All in all, I'd recommend it - bearing in mind that this is my first breadmaker and have nothing to compare it to.』

After that, however, the automatic yeast dispenser just stopped working on all settings. So much for convenience...It doesn't matter much how well it functions if it only works for 9 loaves. I'll have to send it off for who knows how long (at my expense) or drive to a service center 105 miles away (each way) two times to drop off and pick up. Very disappointed as this hassle is just not worth it.』

    『7 Worlds Collide is a collaboration of numerous musical talents including Neil Finn, Tim Finn, members of Wilco, members of Radiohead, Bic Runga, KT Tunstall, Glenn Richards of Augie March, Don McGlashan and last but by no means least, Johnny Marr. There are also Finn family members chipping in as well. All I can say is that this is a huge surprise to me. A project on such a massive scale shouldn't work. Amazingly it works very very well. The songs are all of the highest quality. I especially love 'Too Blue' by Johnny Marr and Jeff Tweedy. It has a Nashville/Motown/Phil Spector-ish feel to it. It reminds me of 'Yes' by McAlmont and Butler as well. It's a very strong number. I also love 'Long Time Gone' by Don McGlashan. Tweedy of Wilco's 'You Never Know' is an all time classic. It reminds me of Travelling Wilburys. I am still listening to the whole album and I am enjoying the majority of the songs. Phil Selway, the Radiohead drummer, is a major surprise as well. He sounds not unlike Nick Drake on his two self penned numbers. What an exciting project. Great to hear a supergroup that actually works as well as the sum of the parts !』

    『With so many talented stars writing, playing and performing on this disc, would you expect anything less in this second go-around with Neil Finn and his gang of musicians?

    This benefits OXFAM and it turns nicely on the turntable with an interesting mix of music. I can't wait for Round Three. I'm not going to get into a individual track review, I'll leave that for you to judge. Just know, these guys continue to knock me out with talent, music and passion. You find yourself wanting it to never end and continue on.

    Remember the heartbreak of Crowded House when they called it quits, then hearing they were coming back? The extended "Finn Family" shows first-rate, musical class and invites their friends to join the party. The musicians of the world should take note.

    It has to be a passionate project for these folks to find a way to take off three weeks or so in their busy lives, trudge equipment and stuff to New Zealand and hang out and make music. Yes they do it for a living...it still takes the want and desire...and a great ringleader. We still have musicians who care enough. This one will take repeated listens to grow on you. Around the fifth spin it starts to click.

    It's rare when heart&soul combine, as Neil, his family and friends (now, extended family) have really struck a nice chord.

    These are the kind of folks you would be proud to call friends. This is music you can be proud to call your own, then share it with the world.』

    『The second incarnation of a Neil Finn side project, Seven Worlds Collide is out with a two disc set of 24 songs written, sung and played by a remarkable collection of players from all members of Neil Finn's family (yes Tim on board) (all exceptionally talented), Wilco, Radiohead plus the great Johnny Marr, Don McGlashan (Mutton Birds), K.T. Tunstall, Bic Runga and others. A great collection of well crafted songs, beautifully played and joyfully executed. Neil gathered this talent for an"Oxfam" benefit. Look for a dvd of the three concerts the put on, at some point. Neil is always at his best when collaborating and he gets his fill here. Lots of highlights including the playful "Little by Little" sung by Neil and his wife Sharon; the Phil Selway songs (suprisingly good voice) and the K.T. Sunstall songs, but there is little filler over these to albums. Put them on and enjoy. The quality of the songs here bodes very well for the upcoming Crowded House album this winter. Can't wait. In the meantime, we get this treasure trove of songs.』

Have some friends come over with their families in tow for a couple of weeks and sit around and see what happens. You don't get a group of people this talented together under what turned out to be just the right vibe and not come away with something magical. This is the way music used to be made, real,talented, musicians in a room doing what they do best. On top of getting a great album, you are helping out Oxfam, which fights against global poverty. It's a win/win!』

    『These guys have been my favorite band for a couple of years now and this album does not disappoint. How are these guys not more popular? It must be because their best songs are not on the radio. In fact, their songs from this album that are on the radio are the worst ones. All of their albums are worth buying.』

    『This is an all around great album. Very different than their last album, which I think makes it that much greater! As a fan of the Rejects, I love to see new things out of them. There isn't one song on this album that sounds similar to the next, and it's great. Also, they diverted a bit more than usual from most of their songs being about love, with some of these songs talking about life, death, etc. Great album!』

    『I've always been a fan of the AAR ever since I saw Swing Swing on MTV late at night when it first came out. They've always had strong melodies and catchy songs. As a guy I tend to prefer the harder side of AAR. I really loved their first album, and I also really enjoyed their second, Move Along. This album though is much softer, and slower. For someone who really enjoys the rock side of AAR, this isn't for you. Except for Real World. Wow... the rest of the album should have been that song.』

It's a different direction than the rest of the album, and I can't stop listening to it. The strings are outstanding, and the rest of the instruments involved create an impressive sound and beauty that makes me appreciate the band as something more than a pop group aimed at teenagers.

    Gives you hell is an entertaining piece, as many have noted. The rest of the album is decent and fun to listen to. At times it sounds a little trite, but this genre is full of cliche.

    I consider this album a solid piece, and Sunshine shows that the group has potential to work outside of their niche, and the ability to deliver on it.』

    I hate this videotape so much. It looked so great after reading the back. This is just a 60-minute highlight video of an event in Manchester. There are only two matches on this entire tape that aren't clipped. This event took place only days after Wrestlemania XIV.

    Jeff Jarrett VS Brakus
    You only see a few seconds of this one. Brakus uses his power, but Jarrett gets the advantage with a Figure Four.

    County Whippin' Match
    D.O.A. VS The Godwinns
    You see a bit more of this match, but it is still only about a minute or two. The Godwinns do some double team moves. There is a heavy amount of strap use.

    I was actually really excited to see this match. The match is again clipped. Jack doesn't use any of his usual hardcore antics in the match. The aftermath is nice though.

    OH YOU DIDN'T KNOW? This match is also clipped. The Outlaws stay out of the match as much as possible and it gets really boring.

    Stone Cold Steve Austin(c) VS Triple H w/Chyna
    Notice in the entrances, it says Triple HHH on the nameplate. Horrible typo there. This is the first unclipped match of the tape. It is an awesome encounter too. It's sad that it is on this horrible videotape. Triple H focuses on Austin's leg most of the match. Good ending.

    Undertaker VS Kane w/ Paul Bearer
    Undertaker is jumped by D-X on his way to the ring. From there he gets beat up a little by Kane. In a minute or so, he regains he composure and hits a chokeslam. Kane sits up. Undertaker then hits a Tombstone Piledriver. It's over. This is the second unclipped match, but it is bad and very short.

    (How Christianity Conquered Rome)
    『In the early centuries of the Christian era, the faith Christ began with a small band of 12 conquered the greatest empire. Not with swords and chariots but with love. The introduction to the movie summarizes the rest. And in this film we see all the key players in that drama, Paul, Peter, and the Christian martyrs who shamed the empire and eventually defeated her with the love of their Lord.

    The title (of the book on which the movie is based) comes from the story that Peter was leaving Rome at the beginning of the persecutions under Nero when he encounters Jesus going toward the city. He recognizes Jesus and asks "Quo vadis, Domine?" or, "Where are you going, Lord?" Jesus answers that he is going back to the christians Peter was abandoning to "be crucified again." Peter is devastated by the implication and returns to Rome to also accept martyrdom. When Christ's body (his church) suffers, so does he.

    The love stories that interweave the story are tasteful and truly bespeak something more than the current typical hollyweird portrayal of love as an outlet only for physical gratification. The martyrdom scenes are also done without being overly graphic yet conveying the horror just the same. This is one of those rare films that does not shrink from the dignity of man as too sappy or childish for adults. It is a great Christian film without being preachy or simplistic.

    Some (particularly those of a fundamentalist persuasion) have objected to the "Christian" label being applied to this film since the Bible does not mention Peter being in Rome. But one of the earliest works of the Church in Clement I's (bishop of Rome) epistle to the Corinthians written shortly after the events portrayed in this movie mentions the martyrdom of both Peter and Paul in Rome. That epistle also mentions those two apostles as the leaders of the church in Rome. Other historical documents concur with Clement. This film is about as historically accurate as any film of the early church and very entertaining at the same time.

    『Hollywood could only dream of making a movie like this ever again. 30,000 extras is un heard of these days. It would all be computer and what not. This is a biblical epic but you don't have to believe to love this movie. I am Christian and loved how accurate this movie portrayed the early Christians in Rome. Of course we know that Nero was a nut who burnt his own city down. But this movie is so much more than that. The acting is phenomenal and the sight of ancient Rome being so perfectly built so many years ago should make hollywood envy this movie. If you love movies of ancient Rome as i do this is a must for you. And the Blu Ray is fantastic.』

    『Quo Vadis is a rollicking sword&sandals epic from 1951, complete with campy performances, huge crowd scenes and pious moralizing. It's great fun, and is brought to Blu-ray in a beautiful restored transfer. Kudos to Warner Bros. for providing the original mono soundtrack and not a souped-up 5.1 version; the sound is actually very good for the film's age, and highlights Miklos Rosza's beautiful score.』

    『This is an incredible DVD transfer. It shows you what movies used to be like when color was really COLOR! I've always enjoyed this film, but cannot believe how absolutely gorgeous it is on DVD. (And it really makes me long to see a restored print on the big screen.) The commentary is excellent, full of wonderful anecdotes about the making of the film and the fabulous cast. If you are fond of anciente epics, remember that QUO VADIS is the one that set the whole cycle in motion. Watch this. You are in for a treat.』
    『"Welcome to Nero's House of Women" greets a concubine to a slave girl, Lygia (Deborah Kerr). Later this self-same greeter reveals that she, too, like Lygia, is really a fellow Christian neophyte. And it's that mixture of tawdry Hollywood sex and a strong Christian message that makes this film an enjoyable "gentiles and gladiators" flick. Marcus Vinicius returns home after conquering the Britons to find that Rome is infected with a crazy new sect called Christians and that his beloved emperor Nero (Peter Ustinov, roly-poly and wicked) has become increasingly wacky. Marcus tries his centurion wiles on Lygia, and she's smitten, but she's also a Christian convert and begs Marcus not to force her to choose between him and her god. The Christians have a tough go of it, with martyrdom in the Coliseum as punishment for belonging to the new religion in town. Though three hours long, director Mervyn LeRoy's film always has something going on. It could help you enjoyably kill any rainy Sunday afternoon.--Keith Simanton』

My wife and I were surprised to find the plot intriguing. Since then we bought all of the Acceleracers DVDs. They are great family fun and, in particular, our 6 year old son LOVES them.     『Having lived for 12 years in a three story (four if you count the basement) 103 year old National Registry Historic Home and each floor having multiple Kidde KN-COSM-B Battery-Operated Combination Carbon Monoxide and Smoke Alarm with Talking Alarm I can say that this product has worked as advertised, lasted at least 5 years and so far has given us no difficulties. But the one thing I've learned is that the use of any AA battery that is not lithium questions the quality of this product. Non lithium AA batteries last at most for weeks but with lithium batteries you are looking at at least 6 months between those annoying and incredibly inconvenient "low-battery" alarms.』

    『I bought this unit thinking the voice warnings would be great and more descriptive than just beeping and chirping. Our house has interconnectible smoke detectors with battery back up. No problems with the other types of units, but this one announces "low battery" every minute since we installed it yesterday. We've tried three different batteries and after a few hours the warning starts up again. When I tried to call their support number they were "at lunch" and now they are closed. I am very annoyed with this company who sent me this unit to replace a unit that they had recalled - the photoelectric / ionization combo alarm. I wish I had bought a different brand.』

A plastic piece on the top of the unit by the braking button popped out after the first use and while cleaning the unit a piece of the latching mechanism broke off. Instead of paying the shipping to return this spinner I plan to use it till it functionally breaks and then go back to the tried and true of rinse in the sink and drain in the colander.』

    The Kidde Combination Carbon Monoxide&Smoke Alarm includes a voice warning system that eliminates confusion and clearly warns you and your family of a smoke or carbon monoxide (CO) danger, or if your battery is in need of replacement or your alarm is in hush mode.

    Alarm Warnings

    This feature desensitizes the alarm for approximately 10 minutes. If the smoke is not too dense, the alarm will silence immediately, the unit will verbally announce "Hush Mode Activated", and the green LED will flash every 2 seconds for approximately 10 minutes.

    Reliable Battery Power, Indicator LED, Test Feature and Low-Battery Warning
    The battery powered alarm provides continuous protection, even during power outages. Because this alarm only helps protect you if it's working, this unit features a red LED that flashes every 30 to 40 seconds to indicate that it is operating correctly. For additional peace of mind, the alarm also contains a test/reset button that enables you to periodically test its circuitry and horn.

    If any form of battery failure is detected the red LED light will flash and the unit will "chirp" one time, followed by the warning message "Low Battery." This cycle will occur once every minute, and will continue for at least seven days.

    Seven (7) years after initial power up, this unit will "chirp" every 30 seconds. This is an "operational end of life" feature which will indicate that it is time to replace the alarm. UL 2034, the independent standard applicable to CO alarms, requires CO alarms to have an end of life warning. This requirement went into effect in March 2007, meaning any CO alarm manufactured after April 2007 with a UL listing must have this feature. Most states that require CO alarms in residential dwellings mandate that the alarm meet the UL 2034 standard.

    The unit measures just 5.75 inches in diameter and 1.7 inches deep, and it features a neutral, white finish. It includes tamper resist features to deter vandalism or theft. This combination smoke/CO alarm is UL listed, so you can be confident of its quality, and it is backed by a 5-year limited warranty.

    The HBF-306C features two modes -- athlete and normal -- for accurate results. The device is a breeze to use, and it returns measurement results in seven seconds for both Bi method (Bioelectrical Impedance Method) and BMI (Body Mass Index). The unit displays the measured value of your body fat percentage through the BMI method, and indicates the body mass in for ranges from low, normal, high, and very high according to the BMI value.

    What is the Bioelectrical Impedance Method?
    Muscles, blood vessels and bones are body tissues having a high water content that conduct electricity easily. Body fat is tissue that has little electric conductivity. The Body Fat Analyzer sends an extremely weak electrical current of 50 kHz and 500µA through your body to determine the amount of fat tissue. This weak electrical current is not felt while operating the Body Fat Analyzer. The Bioelectrical Impedance Method safely combines the electric resistance with the distance of the electricity conducted. Correct posture and consistent measuring conditions need to be maintained for the best results.

    Operating the Analyzer
    To use the HBF-306C you must first set your personal datYou must first select between the Normal and Athlete modes. To determine if you should select Normal or Athlete, you must calculate your FIT index by using the following formula:

    Frequency is a single digit number from one to five that represents your frequency of exercise. If you exercise daily or almost daily, then use the number five; three to four times per week use four; one to two times per week use three; a few times per month use two; and for less than once a month use one. If you workout vigorously, then you use the number five to represent your intensity level; if you workout with moderate or light effort, use the number four.

    Meanwhile, time is a single digit number from four to one that represents the duration of your workout. If you exercise for 45 minutes or more, then use the number four; 30-44 minutes use three; 15-29 minutes use two; and for less than 15 minutes use one. For example, if you run five times a week for 30 minutes, your FIT index would be 75 (5 x 5 x 3 = 75) and you would select the Athlete setting. If your FIT index is greater than 60, you should select the Athlete setting. Any number below would demand a normal setting.

    After determining your FIT index and selecting between the Athlete and Normal setting, the remaining personal data is very straightforward. Simply enter your height, weight, age and gender. When all the data is fixed and stored, the analyzer screen will display "Ready," and you'll be ready to take your first body fat measurements.

    『I picked up a Canon MP620 as a new all-in-one for my printing needs at college. I prefer having paper in my hands to read assignments; it's easier to read than a computer screen and it gives me the ability to highlight important points. My Epson Stylus CX6000 wasn't getting the job done; the ink "ran out" too fast.

    After printing about 350 pages or so in a month's worth of mostly black and white printing (yeah, it's a lot!), the Canon MP620 started to complain about running out of the PGI-220 ink. I rushed to buy this cartridge, fearing that I might run out of ink before it arrived. Well, it "ran out" soon after I got the cartridge. And... it's still printing just fine.

    A great thing about the printer this ink cartridge runs on: you have the option to keep printing even after the cartridge's microchip estimates that the ink has run out. My old Epson printer did not give me that option, even though I knew ink was still left inside. 100 pages after "running out," the old cartridge is still running strong; I haven't even opened the replacement yet!

    Long story short, you're definitely getting more out of your cartridge here than the microchip tells you. Just keep printing until it no longer prints! It's safe to say that you can get at least 500 pages out of this black cartridge, easy! The price you pay is nothing compared to the mileage you get out of this cartridge. Great value!』

    『I have been using this modem for almost 2 weeks and I can really say that it is AWESOME. Connecting it to my comcast service was easy. Just call their IT support and they will hook it up to their system. They basically need the MAC address.

    I really gained some Mbps on this modem. I used to get 17Mbps and now I get up to 25Mbps on speakeasy or speedtest. Of course it all depends on the time of day you do the test but overall, it is worth every penny. It will pay for itself shortly... Luckily my neighborhood backbone is already DOCSIS 3.0 but still a MONOPOLY. I would like to test this router on FIOS...』

    『This is the first Flip camcorder I've bought, and I'm very pleased with it. The user interface is very simple, which I consider a big plus. It turns on and off quickly, so you don't have to wait for this to boot up while a memorable moment passes you by. The brush metal won't be a fingerprint magnet, for which I'm quite glad, being very picky about that kind of thing.

    When filming in low lights, it gets a bit grainy, but for me it is tolerable considering its limits as a pocket camcorder. However, I find it more than capable in other kinds of lighting, and it suits my needs quite well.

    I would definitely recommend this for those looking for a simple, yet well-functioning camera that also has aesthetic appeal for the style-conscious.』

    『If you are looking for an affordable video camera, the flips are a great place to start. I own two of them, I use them almost daily, and I really like them. ONE THING TO BE CAREFUL ABOUT -- if you buy a 720p camera, you will need a computer that will process the file sizes. Be sure to read the computer specs on the box. If you own an Apple computer with the twin Intel processors, you have no worries. But if you have to be very careful if you own a PC because the files will probably crash your computer. If you're just getting started and don't own a super computer, go with the cheapest flip. I shot and edited probably 40 to 50 short videos with the lowest def flip and edited them all on a really cheap laptop with no problems at all and wonderful success. The coolest thing about the flip is its size. It will fit in a shirt pocket. I have had some minor problems, like the display freezing, but that was solved by letting the battery run down, recharging and starting the camera again.』

    『I did a ton of research and at first and wasn't sure what to choose between the $200 - $600 market. I bought the Flip MinoHD for the simple reason that it was small and portable and able to capture the moments you'd miss with a larger more expensive camcorder getting it out of it's case and turning it on. The most important factor in me determining what to buy was ease of use and what kind of software comes with it. During my evaluations, so many reviews of camcorders said something about being a Mac user and/or downloading additional software and converting it from one format to another or not being able to produce a feature film with a $200 camcorder.

    That is not at all what I wanted. My wife is pregnant with twins and due shortly so I wanted something I could carry in my pocket to capture those precious moments and quickly/easily upload to my computer, edit, email to in-laws/parents, burn to a dvd or share to Facebook with a few clicks of the mouse. I will say that I am not too software savvy but you literally plug this in to the computer and the software takes over. It is fantastic how easy and idiot proof it is (take my word on it). I took a three minute video of my wife ten minutes after getting it delivered to my house and had sent it out to my in-laws and relatives less than 20 minutes after UPS dropped it off at my house (it was already charged). That is honestly how easy it is to use.

    If you want a portable HD (720p) camcorder that is smaller than my Blackberry, that records up to 120 minutes that you can easily (software included with the device) upload and edit and then send to anyone, looks and sounds good too for a little over $200, then this is the product for you. I bought many things off Amazon but this is my first product review. I've never been so impressed with anything I've bought from either here or Ebay and thought I should sing it's praises because it rocks.

    I don't think you'd be disappointed with what you get. I can't wait for my babies to get here so I can post some top notch videos for our friends/family to see. I'd at least advise looking at the Flip Mino video online that shows the features and ease of use. That's what sold me. Good luck!

    『I've been looking for a camcorder for a long time and finally settled on the Flip due to good reviews and decent price.

    Two days after I received my brand new Flip Mino HD, I started having issues with it. During one recording the camera totally froze up on me and I couldn't shut it off. I held down the power button several times with no response. I finally plugged it into my computer and that appeared to reset it. The following day while recording, the camera completely powered off on me without warning and I lost the video.

    After reading some of the reviews here it was apparent that this model had some problems. So I went straight to the source and called up Flip. First off, I was impressed that they were answering their phones on a Sunday afternoon. The person I spoke to was very friendly and helpful. She told me that the product had JUST come out and I had gotten an item from the first lot, which they seemed to be having some issues with. The problems I described were exactly what others had been having issues with too. She told me to return it and that she'd send me a new one (from a different lot) in its place. Within minutes of the call I received an e-mail with the instructions for the return and a pre-paid shipping label.

    About a week after dropping the package off, I received a box in the mail with a new camcorder plus an unexpected freebie--an action mount that looks like it's about a $16 value. I thought that was a very nice addition for my trouble.

    I haven't yet had a chance to use the new camcorder and I expect that the issue won't continue. If it does, I will expect the same quality service from Flip Video. Regarding the camera itself, I love it. It's very easy to use--completely intuitive and doesn't require a boatload of instructions. The software is simple too. I think this camera will fit my needs quite nicely.』

Video very sharp. puts video in MP4 format I have to convert to wmv so I can watch in windows media player or realplayer. If you have an old PC Flip program takes up a lot of Memory.     『My wife and I bought the wii remote chargers because having to buy batteries ever so often is such a hassle. So far the charger is working great! The only thing I have to note about it is in the instructions it says that when the remote is not on the charger the light indicator is red. This is not the case with our charger. It doesn't show any color at all. The only lights that are displayed are blue (charging) and green (charged). If you don't like buying batteries for your controllers then I suggest this product.』

    We've owned this little unit for 2 years now and it's been fantastic. The units works as advertised and keeps our Wiimotes charged for hours of gaming fun. The only problem we've ever experienced with it is, well, you can't use it with the Wiimote protectors that are shipped with the the Nintendo remotes, so we've just taken them off and don't use them at all. The other thing is that, occasionally, if you don't seat the Wiimote properly on the unit, it won't charge. We have to pull the wrist strap string tightly forward otherwise it keeps the battery from making contact with the unit. Other than that we've had zero problems with the unit or the rechargeable batteries which are still going strong. Highly recommended.』
