『I use these in a Vicks warm mist humidifier. I've purchased smaller packages (6-packs) for almost the same money but this is the best deal I've found. Well worth it.』

When I use it obviously I can see it get dirty as time goes by but the unit also gets dirty. This winter I didn't use these pads and realized that the unit gets dirty with same amount and speed.』

『The pads don't seem to do much. With or without them, calcium deposits gather on the metal plate they're supposed to protect at about the same rate. I use them only because the manufacturer says to and I need to break the bad habit of being a rule-follower. It seems to me the best remedy would be to just pour a little vinegar/water solution onto the area and let it soak--but I haven't had the guts to try it yet. The warranty is supposedly void when you use any chemicals not recommended by the manufacturer. I'll let you know how it works when the warranty runs out. In the mean time, don't waste your money.』

『This dog crate was delivered in perfect condition, assembled in 5 minutes maybe less. Cheaper on Amazon than Petsmart where we first saw the crate, even with the shipping. Very durable, love the 2 door access, the standard size rectangular dog beds fit perfectly in the bed. It worked beautifully in potty training our very active puppy. Now we use it only at night and on an occasional time-out. Love the handles on the top which makes it easy to maneuver around. Like the double latch on the doors as well (just in case). Very good product.』

I don't feel shortchanged by lack of language; hers is the language of the soul. 『This is the follow-up to her acclaimed album "Balancê".
Sara Tavares grew up in Lisbon, where her parents had emigrated to earn a living. As a teenager she founded the first Portuguese Gospel choir, making Stevie Wonder and Aretha Franklin her exemplars. She gravitated to pop, then found herself at home in the expat Cape Verdean music scene: this record reflects her return to her roots.
But this record is different. Sara Tavares sings in a kittenish, almost conspiratorial manner: hers is not an art which demands that the listener attends closely to every note, but it is a pleasure to spend time with her.
Part of the seduction lies in the expert way the accompaniment is laid down, with guitars, a flute and a vibraphone creating a soft halo of ambient sound.
Unlike her singer compatriots, she doesn't feel any need to genuflect to the genius of Cesaria Evora, the singer who first drew attention to the music of these rocky islands.
Sara writes amazing songs, which burst with warmth, evoking her island roots and nature ("Voz di vento" is a lovely example), delivering them with one of the most shape-shifting voices around, a fusion of the gentle and wistful with subtly buoyant rhythm.
Sung in Portuguese, Cape Verdean creole and street slang, "Xinti" which means 'feel', tells its own story with bewitching songs like 'Sumanai' about music as the heart's voice quenching the thirst, moving to "Touch of Light" to "Wayfarer" to "Free Fall" all of it "Of the Soul".
The whole effect is poetically magical and while there are various male musicians involved Tavares plays all the guitars and the producer and engineer are both women.
Like the best of modern ex-pat Cape Verde, the overall sound is pan-Portuguese, drawing on Africa, Lisbon and the rest of the world, but rooted firmly in Cape Verde. There are no traditional 'mornas' here, but each song is suffused with that uniquely Lusitanian spirit of reflective 'saudade'/sweet sadness.

So I bought this, and listened to it once, but I just can't stand it. It's like they dipped it in plastic. It's like twisting the truth. 『Even a decade after his death at age 38 in 1997, Israel "Iz" Kamakawiwo'ole remains Hawaii's best-known and most beloved singer. His career began when he and his older brother, Skippy, formed a group in their hometown near Honolulu. The two performed together until the latter died in 1982. The band continued on for some years but it was Iz's haunting voice, with its searing yet limpid falsetto, that captured the popular imagination. Indeed, his 'ukulele-laced version of "Over the Rainbow" is widely thought to be the only interpretation that could possibly stand up to Judy Garland's original. Now that the definitive retrospective,Alone in IZ World(2001), has been released, it is perhaps inevitable that new arrangements should be slipped in under Iz's inimitable, indelible vocal tracks. The good news is, however, that these particular lush orchestrations, while totally superfluous, are nonetheless respectful and in good taste, never overwhelming the singing (as if anything could!). There are no revelations, but, fortunately, no unpleasant shocks, either. Perhaps, had he lived, Iz might have decided to go this route anyway. 『This movie is a must own. It has an all star cast that includes Lauren Bacall, June Allyson, Arlene Dahl, Van Heflin, Fred MacMurray, and Cornel Wilde.
Three different couples travel to New York for their husdbands to interview for a position, but they soon find out that then job depends just as much on their wives as it does the husdbands. Each wife is different, one is snobby, one is classy, and one is delightfully querky. This is a warmly hilarious movie.
This movie absolutely must be released on DVD as it is one of my favorites since I was a little girl.』

But it's one of the best, made when CinemaScope was new to Fox Studios. In fact that was Fox's "heyday" of scope films. They have released so many inferior products on DVD, why don't they start releasing some good old Scope films like A WOMANS'S WORLD? A Scope collection could include TEN NORTH FREDERICK; IN LOVE AND WAR; VIEW FROM POMPEY'S HEAD; VIOLENT SATURDAY to name just a few. WORLD is a bygone era of film making, the likes of we'll never see again. Great stars, scenery and a film score that's rich in atmosphere and romance. It has everything going for it with a nice "whodunit" twist at the end. Three couples are invited to New York to see which husband will be given the job of General Manager of a automotive company. The wives will have a lot to do with the end result. No great shakes of a plot, but this is just plain old fashioned entertainment. Now let's get this on DVD already. Is anyone who is the highest of echilon listening? Also, why not have a Clifton Web collection as he made all of his films at Fox. WOMANS'A WORLD; HOLIDAY FOR LOVERS; STARS AND STRIPES FOREVER; DREAMBOAT; MR. SCOUTMASTER; ELOPEMENT and the three BELVEDERE films. Come on Fox, get with it. What a collection that would make.』

『Please release this on DVD. With this all-star cast and view of 1950's New York this really needs to be on DVD. The clothes&scenerey are stunning. And besides my VHS tape is wearing out. (entertaining film, should be on dvd)
『"Woman's World" is a fun and likable comedy with a first-rate cast, and it deserves to be put out on dvd. It also has funny and pointed dialogue, probably from Howard Lindsay and Russell Crouse, the celebrated playwriting team who wrote "Life with Father" among other hits, and who have an "additional dialogue by" credit on the film.

Clifton Webb brings 3 married couples to New York City to decide who should take over a major job in his auto factory. Cornel Wilde is the good guy with the square, awkward wife June Allyson. Fred MacMurray is the troubled one with an ulcer, and Lauren Bacall is his wised-up wife, agreeing to pretend she's not about to divorce him.

Van Heflin is the "still waters run deep" candidate with the gorgeous wife Arlene Dahl (with a Texas accent?), who sends out hilariously over-the-top sexual vibes to everyone including Clifton Webb. (Doesn't she know he's probably not interested? Of course, this is the 50s.) Miss Dahl is both charismatic and funny in this film.

The six actors playing the husbands and wives are all fun to watch. MacMurray and Bacall have the meatiest material, since they're dealing with a genuine problem marriage. I love their introductory scene, driving through the Lincoln Tunnel. As they're about to get out of the tunnel after a bitter exchange, he says "looks there's the light," and she says dryly, "I saw the light a long time ago" in her best Bacall drawl.

A fun side story has Bacall's character generously taking Allyson under her wing, since Allyson's character seems incapable of dressing herself or choosing an appropriate wardrobe. (Having blown her budget on a gruesome barbecue "chef" outfit for the whole family back home, very 50s.) Bacall, always playing someone savvy, takes her to a bargain basement kind of place that carries dicarded originals, and the scene of pandemonium of women ransacking the disorganized racks of sale price clothing is hilarious.

Anyway, it's an entertaining movie, and a fun capsule of 50s America, with good location shots of New York City. Doesn't deserve to disappear.

for about 2 weeks, then no matter what I do it does not work right. Both the
Green and Red lights blink constantly, I unplug, re-program and it lasts for\

(Garage Door Monitor - OK, but not perfect)
『After unintentionally leaving our garage door open overnight several times, I decided we needed some kind of monitor. This seemed to be a good choice based on design. It was very easy to assemble and install... probably took less than 10 min to pop in the battery and affix the velcro fastener to the garage door and sensor/transmitter. When I tested it at close range, it works as advertised with the green light on when the door is closed and the red light on when the door is open. When I moved the receiver to a convenient location in my house and waited ~20 min, the green light and red light started flashing, which indicated a failure to receive the signal. I moved the receiver to a spot in my house that was closer to the garage, and things seem to be working now. But I was disappointed with the range of the device.』

(Insert Battery Correctly)
『At first I was getting ready to send this back and write a scathing review but then I discovered that I was not inserting the battery correctly. One other review talks about problems with battery insertion and I suspect that some of the reviews that said it didn't work at all are due to incorrect battery insertion. The negative side of the battery goes against the printed circuit board and the positive side goes UNDER the two little prongs of the clip. With the battery inserted correctly, it is transmitting across the width of three cars plus a hallway and through four layers of drywall and a layer of insulation. There have been no problems with false readings in the first few days. The receiver is on the far corner of the house from the wireless modem, reducing interference, if any, from this.』

『I was watching this item and then the price went down to about $21 on Amazon, so I bought it a month or so ago. The pre-install test didn't work well just by tilting the sensor, because it requires vibration to move the sensor (it sounds like a BB but is probably a little metal swing gate). It's been working very well, except for a week or so ago my wife asked before bed if the garage door was shut. I looked at the solid green light and said yes. She opened the inside door to check and the garage door was open. I tapped on the sensor to try to close the switch, but it wouldn't turn to flashing red. Next time closing and opening the door it worked fine, and has worked fine since then. It sort of defeats the purpose if you can't trust it and have to open the door to check for certain.』

『I bought this at Home Depot paying $40 for it. Wish I would have bought it here and saved $10. Anyway I opened the package, looked at the back of my garage door opener (Liftmaster with purple button), hit the numbers on the keypad, and it worked (do make sure the garage door is down like it says). Mounted in seconds with the self-starting wood screws. All done. Will it work for a year? Dunno. It works now and it's nice and easy.』

『Works fine. Sometimes the garage doesnt open and you have to hit the code in again. Couldnt figure out yet, what the problem is. Maybe its my hand in front of the transmitter. If i stretch my finger out more it seems to work all the time.
The cover sucks. If you open it, you usually push it over the endstops and it falls down.
My cover is always open but the transmitter is not exposed to weather on the location i've mounted it, so thats ok.
