『If you buy brita filters the three pack is the way to go and will in the long run save you quite a bit of money. I had been buying the filters locally for around 9.99 each so it pays to take advantage of the sales on Amazon.

『Well, it's a Brita water filter. Not much to say really. Filters the water well. Makes it taste much better than the faucet water in my dorm on campus. I think the water out here is well water so this filter was much needed. Charcoal particles still seem to seep through after being used many times but no biggie. Great filter!』

『I bought it in March 2009, it arrived on time, good to use-- but all the four replacement filters that I used leak small black particles into the base of pitcher.
I was not overtly concerned about the black particles-- guess it's just carbon from the filter. But my previous filters (bought from Target) didn't have this long-lasting leak-- they cleared out after three water replacements.
Is it the same quality bought this purchase? I have no other test to verify, but it would be nicer if the small black particle leakings would be improved.

(Solves so many problems!)

『1. Backlight - I didn't think I would use this but I have several times.

2. Smooth buttons - easy to clean.

3. The weighing plate comes off, so it's easy to clean too.

4. It remembers the weight even when it turns off. I used to compulsively press on the bowl or whatever was on my old scale, to keep the scale active to make sure it didn't turn off. No more!

5. On/Off button. This isn't why I bought it by any means, but it is nice when I'm just weighing one thing really quickly, and I don't have to drain the battery life waiting for it to turn off automatically.

6. Pretty high capacity - some food scales only hold 5 pounds or so. I often use mine to get equal servings out of a big pot of soup, for example. With this scale I can put the whole pot on there, subtract the weight of the pot, and then easily ladle out equal portions.

7. This is the reason I bought this scale, only to discover several other great features. With my old scale, weighing a plate or a big pot was really difficult, because the big size of it covered the display. I had to crouch down and use a flashlight to try to see what the weight was. This feature totally solves that problem.』

『This scale is a holiday gift for my husband. I just got it in the mail and had to try it out. I love it. The ability to light the display screen when needed and the pull out digital display unit make it a unique scale. Well worth the price. Especially for my husband, who rarely uses a measuring cup, but weighs everything on a kitchen scale. He loves to bake. He even has a second cousin from Norway, who is a world class chief. We have an older model scale, by Tanita. While it works fine, it doesn't include any of the features I just mentioned that make this scale the gem that it is.』

『I've been a big fan of Putamayo compilations for quite some time. I don't know if they coined the term "world music" but I think they've done a great job in popularizing the mega-genre. Whoever sifts through the music and makes the choices for each compilation does, on the whole, an excellent job of choosing selections that - as music critics like to say - are accessible to unsophisticated ears such as mine. (Worst movie ever...but the kids love it anyway!)

『I inwardly groan whenever my kids ask to watch this movie. But while my husband and I don't like it, I'm giving it 3 stars because my kids LOVE it and let's face it, we're buying this for our kids, not us. My 3-year old son wants to watch this movie again and again. He's even been known to sleep with the DVD at night!

『This movie was scratched pretty badly. It got to the last few minutes of the movie and froze. I tried it on several different dvd players thinking it was just mine and it did the same thing at the same part if the movie. I guess that's what I get for buying used....』

『Ok, people who have said that this movie makes no sense are absolutely right but to be fair, please read the rest of the review! My kid LOVES it and it is tolerable to me.

I have watched this movie MANY times now and some parts really make NO sense. It is as though the writers gave up in some areas and said, "Well, it's fantasy, it doesn't have to make sense!" I mean, what's with the bat and ball at bedtime? Why is a rabbit leaving him a note? Why does it matter if Cous is allergic to grass? Thomas falls off the mountain and sinks into the ground magically? They figure out the "riddle" that made no sense and seriously, no one in their right mind would be able to get..... there are so many unanswered questions!!

I wanted to take away 2 stars for the weird story line and plot points that make less than no sense, but seriously, my kid LOVES it and isn't that the point? I keep reminding myself that 80% of the movie makes sense and has great morals and that the other 20% has to be doing something for his imagination.

So, I took away 1 star for the weak story and for Peter Fonda's AWFUL acting ("Oh Lily, I'm so glad to see you" *deadpan face*) otherwise, it is worth it. The songs are cute and my kid adores it.

All I can say is, "Small small small, teeny weeny weeny." Hehehe.』

『The print version of the story hardly makes sense and this film even less so. Esp with Peter Fonda and Alec Baldwin popping up randomly and endless mentions of "gold dust", the movie is like a really rotten drug trip. The only way I could enjoy this mess would be on MST 3K. Misery in a box.』
『Thomas, as anyone familiar with the eponymous, wildly popular TV series knows, is a very useful engine, and never more so than in his first theatrical release, which was a modest box-office success. On a tank filled with little more than pluck, determination, and goodwill, Thomas sets out full steam ahead on a danger-fraught mission to help his friend Mr. Conductor. The conductor's stash of magic gold dust has run out, leaving him stranded on the Island of Sodor with Junior, his flaky cousin, and Lily, a little girl enlisted to lift her grandfather out of a funk on nearby Muffle Mountain. When Thomas bravely chugs beyond his hometown tracks' buffers with Lily aboard, he's transported to Muffle Mountain's secret railway and to Lady, a long-lost steamer whose legendary engine makes her more powerful than Diesel, the train-yard bully. Together, Thomas and Lady lead Diesel on a chase that causes a bridge to collapse, taking the dastardly Diesel down with it. Most impressive about the movie is its marquee names: Alec Baldwin works magic as the dutiful worrywart Mr. Conductor, Mara Wilson is Lily, and Peter Fonda plays the cool-looking but lugubrious Grandpa. It's a cast that'll keep put-upon parents watching, if halfheartedly. (A Wonderful Album)

『I've seen Celtic Woman twice at Radio City Music Hall and was dissappointed when Orla dropped out before the beginning of the most recent tour. It was said that she was recording an album but I was dubious. Several years ago, Meav, another of the Celtic Women, dropped out and it was said she was recording her own album as well. I have yet to see it. I thought the same thing was happening here. Boy was I wrong.
This is an absolutely wonderful album and Orla has never sounded better or sweeter. I won't go into all of the songs but my favorite is the song "Always There." Absolutely gorgeous. I also love the title track "Distant Shore" and the first track "Who Knows." However all the other tracks are wonderful as well. I listen to it in my car and find it totally relaxing. I saw Orla recently on PBS and surprisingly she looks younger and better than on the previous DVDs from 2004 and 2006 (not that she looked bad there either.) Some of us are getting older, Orla gets younger.
In conclusion, this is a wonderful album and a triumph for Orla. I highly recommend it.』

(Good for what it is, but not great - disapointed)

『If you like popular music, you will probably like this CD. If you were expecting the Irish Traditional or Celtic songs with Orla's souring vocals and amazing harp, well, not so much.

Switching back and forth between clips of this CD and The Water Is Wide clearly shows the difference in vocal quality. The Water Is Wide brings tears to my eyes. I'm sorry, but Distant Shore almost sounds like Orla sang it after sucking on an ice cube. Also seems a little tinny. Maybe needed a better microphone? She still sounds good, but not like one of the worlds best singers she has sounded like in the past.

I'll listen a few more times. Maybe it'll grow on me. I would have prefered just Orla and her harp.』

『I was waiting to read a review from someone with the basic understanding of who is truly in control of the world's economics. Propaganda at its' best here. Why did PBS hide the fact that ENRON was a major contributor to this series? Did they think that the sheople couldn't handle the truth? Though filled with facts, many are skewed. It is made for sheople entertainment and the dumbing-down of the masses. This is how governments brainwash even the most brilliant scholars from seeing the truth that is right in front of their noses! I spoke recently with an award-winning economist from Princeton University who refused to acknowledge that our Federal Reserve is nothing but a private banking cartel. Very scary.
If you can handle the truth, read G. Edward Griffin's `The Creature from Jekyll Island'. This book sheds the mystery of the world of central banking and currency manipulation, the reasons for which most Americans are currently being robbed of their wealth. The book will open your eyes and either lead you on a path to demand the truth or looking for a very deep hole to crawl back down into.

『I dont purchase CD's or DVDs anymore. I think they are overpriced, and specially now that you can download almost anything, i find it difficult to spend my green in any DVD.

Then i read the reviews that this documentary had , based on the book. I thought the premise was really interesting. So i bought it, and i watched it. I didn't feel ripped off after, and i still watch it! (and in fact bought another set for my sister)

This is truly the best analytical documentary ever devised. It is such a piece of art, it stands on its own and has no other real similar.

I read other reviews and i concurr that sometimes it seems as if the analysis doesn't go deep enough. BUt that's the beauty of the narration. It never inserts its tilt or spin - it just tells you the facts and shows how things unfolded, only getting interviews to add color to the scene at hand but always letting the viewer come to its own conclusions.

I own this and Blue Planet. Once i buy Cosmos, i think i have all the DVD's i could ever need.

『Lost the USB power cubes for my iPhone and Kindle; each of them cost as much to replace as this whole USB 110V outlet strip. Seems like there is only one electrical outlet available in most hotel rooms, and you have to crawl through the valley of death under a hotel bed (yuck) every time you need to plug in your camera, your phone, her phone, his phone, the sticky iron, and your Nintendo DS. With this strip I only have to crawl into the valley of death once when I get there and once when I leave. However, you don't have to be a Road Warrior to benefit from this product. My wife grabbed one of the 8 I ordered while I was tearing down the box. Bought some for gifts but after one week, we are already using four in the house and office. BUY SOME EXTRAS. It is light, sturdy, I Like the black, and it fits in one of my shoes, even with the socks and belt I normally cram in them, so it doesn't take up any real space in my luggage. If the little blue light scares you...man-up, woman-up; cover it up with tape or a Sharpie.』

『I bought this power strip partly because a reviewer wrote that it works also in countries with 220V/240V AC. However, the fine print etched on the plastic of the back says: "Electrical Ratings: 15A 125VAC 60Hz." It does not say 220/240V.

It is still possible that indeed the power strip may work internationally but simply it is not written and publicized. It would be great if a representative from Monster can write a comment here to clarify it.

Other than the small disappointment, I am still happy with the power strip. After all, I have yet identified another power strip that comes with USB ports and accepts dual voltage. The power strip is quite compact and solidly built. The USB port charges my first generation iPod Touch without problem.

『I used this to replace the 4 struts/shocks on my car today. I got these to replace some B&D sockets that BROKE when I was using them on some stubborn, rusted nuts and bolts.

These sockets took a SERIOUS beating today and a CRAZY amount of torque without showing any signs of wear. They got through every nut and bolt I threw at them. I was really impressed. You can tell by handling them that they are made well and of good quality.

I added about 1.5 feet of breaker bar to the ratched and put all my 200 lbs into it. It took the strain without failing. I kept looking at it and saying "wow."

I found it very helpful that the numbers are laser etched on each socket. It makes it easy to tell which one you are using and which one you need.

Would definitely recommend and buy again. Can't wait to use them again. Plus the lifetime warranty means you can beat the heck out of them!』

『Laser Etched? Negative, or, at least, poor quality. It's closer to silk screening. I can feel that the numbers are raised like they've been painted on. The etching and, therefore, being easy to identify is one of the two main reasons I chose this set. If it rubs off reason #1 for buying is gone.

The second reason I chose this set and I quote, "Max-Drive design, a unique radius corner design which provides 15 percent more torque..." The only difference I can see is they've, in essence, "drilled" the points a little bigger, which if I'm thinking correctly will put more force in the right places. But it doesn't seem to be very substantial. I think I may send it back and get a Metrinch set instead.

To be fair, I will test out the set against a regular socket set using a torque wrench and if it does provide significantly more torque without slipping, rounding the nut, etc. I will come back and change my review. But, as it stands, for the reasons expressed and what the other reviewers have said about quality I wouldn't buy it again.』

『I saw this for sale at a local store, so I thought I would do some digging for information. Unfortunately, there is almost zero. It doesn't say it anywhere online or on the box, but this will indeed charge your iPhone 3G. It's possible that they did not want to pay for licensing. Since it will charge the 3G, it should charge all of the new non-firewire iPods (Nano 5G, etc).

It's nice and compact, but certainly sturdy. Once you take a leaf through the instruction manual, it's very easy to use. Not one of those things I recommend to start pushing buttons feet-first, because you'll probably be woken up at 2:30am by accident.

What else can I say about it? It charges my iPhone, plays pretty well (a 5.1 system this isn't), has an aux-in for a Zune, etc, has dual-alarms with 3-4 different options each. If you're looking for a cheap replacement for your firewire-charging alarm clock, this is a good choice.』

Also, it is one of the only ones out there that has the numbers light up, not the whole background, so you can see the time but the light doesn't keep you awake. The reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that the one I bought died after 24 hours and I had to send it back to the manufacturer. However, they sent me a new one in return, so despite the inconvenience I guess I can't complain. It was worth the wait. Loving it! It looks great too.』
