『When I initially got this series I was expecting little more than a simply PWP, and it essentially is, but happily the interaction between the two characters was sweet and felt organic in a way that these type of series rarely do. However, after reading both volumes, I found myself wishing that she'd included a third to wrap this up. There's is plenty of kink and a good progression to the relationship, but after all the foreplay and talk of Rei's magical penis, there is no actual sex. I think many readers who are expecting this will be disappointed, so in the end I felt that a lower rating is justified. In conclusion: Decent characters, pretty good art, lots of kink, but no actual sex, and no third volume to finish it off.』

It seems like it will be the best yaoi you've ever read (or maybe that was just my impression?) and it does present some funny scenes here and again, but I was very disappointed. there's no getting around it or ebing nice, becuase I didn't find it entertaining at *all*. And I was so looking forwards to it, you should have seen me, all smiles and awaiting it's delivery, but it just didn't happen for me. So, I won't not reccomend it, but I won't advertize it with love either.』

『I had read the other reviews and expected one thing, but what I got was another thing entirely. The book was really cute...Well, other than all the sex going on. And even then, it wasn't quite sex, it was moreso buildup to the second book.

I'm hoping that the second book is as good as the first one was.』

(A More Explicit Offering from Deux)
『To begin, the book itself is not very thick (about 174 pages). Seeing that it is apart of a longer series (at least 3+ vols), it would have been nice to get more substance for my retail price of $[...] (+tax). The pages are an odd shade of white-yellow, but still acceptable. The inking is very well done.

As for the plot - well that is a bit more difficult to describe. The central idea that Fujimaru and his family move into his grandfather's old home. At this home, Fujimaru ends up releasing an incubus that has been confined within the home the past 50 years. How does he release it? Well, Fujimaru enjoys his "alone time" in the bathroom and this bring the demon out of his slumber. From this point on, the story centers on little else than Fujimaru's hormonal needs and the incubus' desire to inflate those needs. (As the story explains the incubus feeds of sexual energy.)

The pair are set up to mirror common seme/uke archetypes. Fujimaru, our uke, is inexperienced, horny, cute in a boy-ish way, and is reluctant to participate in any male-on-male sexual interaction (don't worry there is no non-con in this work!). The incubus, Rei, our seme, is obviously experienced since he IS an incubus, very adult and manly in appearance, and forceful. Still, character quirks make the work interesting. (Ever seen tentacles working on a guy?) Perhaps the biggest surprise is best left unsaid, but suffice to say it is surprising given the amount of sex depicted in the work.

This said, yes the work is explicit (with the usual censoring of male anatomy - but oddly not the cartoon drawings of "little" Fujimaru). It would be best described as a smut fest with some plot thrown in. In fact the work attempts as a plot at the end of the final chapter. I don't know how it will play out, but given the working plotless-ness of the work I'm skeptical.

As for the art it is standard yaoi. Very pretty boys with decent background work.

Overall, is you are looks for a work with lots of boy-on-boy action (and in interesting ways) with little to no plot then this is for you! If you enjoy more plot, more romantic build-up steer clear.』

『I was so looking forward to this volume that I started reading it as soon as I got it but I would have to say that I enjoyed the two previous volumes more. It wasn't bad or anything. It was just the lack of Yanagi and Arata's love scenes in this volume that made me a bit disappointed. However there is a sex scene between Yanagi and someone else and Arata had to walk in on them. Talk about bad timing.

In this volume, Arata starts to think deeply about his relationship with Yanagi and somehow realize that he might be in love with him. It could be the time they didn't got together that finally made him realize this. After Yanagi's encounter with his first love, Kashiwagi, he started to withdraw because of his painful past and thus affect his relationship with Arata. He stopped calling him over to his place, which made him a bit worried and insecure. It was at that time that he had to catch him in a compromising position with his younger brother, Ten. It wasn't really what anyone would think and it wasn't what Yanagi wanted but it was all scheming and plotting from Ten's side in order to keep the two men apart and to have his beloved brother all to himself. Ten's true colors will show in this volume and I realized how cruel he is by what he did. He didn't even stop at that. He had to involve Kashiwagi again in order to keep Yanagi away from Arata. The book ended with Arata crying thinking that because he is inferior to his brother that Yanagi doesn't want him anymore. After all, Ten has always been the loved kid since he is full of energy while Arata is the quite, bookworm type who doesn't act his age. Those memories kept flooding made him think that no one will ever love him more than his brother but when Yanagi said that there is no comparison between the two, he didn't mean it that way. He meant that Ten is a monster while Arata is the good one but of course, there is no way Arata would know that.

There is an extra at the end of when Yanagi and Arata were still seeing each other. I think they did good by adding it since we never get to see them in bed even once in this volume, so that made me happy.

I felt so bad for the two lovers and angry at Ten for what he did. Well, it wouldn't be so interesting if things went smoothly and for the story to end so soon, so it has its good points too. At this point, we are not sure what is going to happen next but I just hope that Ten's scheme's will be revealed to Arata and that the two lovers will be back in each other's arms again. I cannot wait to get my hands on volume 4. This is becoming one of my favorite yaoi manga titles.』

Great artwork. However, I was really blown away how good this novel was and how original the concept of it was. In general, the reverse of the plot tends to happen. In this case, a poor Yakuza young boss, Tatsurou, finds himself unable to collect the debt of one of his childhood's mentors. In the end, he gets trapped by his old high school kendo rivals, when the loan note gets burned and he has to sell his body to a legal loan company to cover the debt. Having the yakuza as the uke was interesting, and I thought it might be tough to protray a yakuza as stronger then Sagami, the seme. However, even though the seme is a salaryman, I'm glad the author was able to explain why Sagami is so blasted strong. I absolutely adore both the uke and seme personalities. Usually the case in lot of yaoi novels, the seme is is sadistic and in control. That's not really the case here. Sagami is a great seme, who goes through a lot to capture his first love by any means necessary. Tatsurou is also hilariously obstinate in his denial about loving the way Tatsurou makes him feel. It's amusing how they both react to each other. I would highly recommend this novel. It is by far, my most favorite yaoi novel to date. The book opens with Sagami "mounted atop" Tatsurou and about to collect on a debt. Only, the author flashes back to the preceding events just before the payoff. A truly delicious way to hook a reader. Tatsurou is a yakuza. Only, the yakuza life isn't what it used to be. Sure, some people are afraid of him but his flashy car is borrowed and he barely makes enough money to live on. His role in the gang is to collect debts. When the gang president sends him to collect from an old man who owns a factory, Tatsurou runs into trouble. He knows the old man from when he took Tatsurou in as a kid. He can't bring himself to shake the man down. While drowning his woes in booze, he runs into an old school rival. Sagami isn't afraid of him and easily solves Tatsurou's problem by burning the debt note! Only, the gang is expecting that money and will come after him for it. Sagami has been in love with Tatsurou since he cried after losing a kendo match when they were kids. He knows Tatsurou won't give up his tough guy image to be his lover without a fight. So, Sagami strikes a deal to loan the money in exchange for his body. Slowly, Sagami weans him away from the yakuza life (for which he really isn't suited anyway). Sagami is calm and collected through most of the story, while Tatsurou is the quintessential reluctant uke. Their battle of wills is delightful, and fun. Tatsurou is falling in love with Sagami, but doesn't understand the feeling since he's never been in love before. The romance had a surprising depth, and the characters are very charming. I fell for the hot-tempered, tender-hearted Tatsurou immediately. And Sagami was dignified and loving, a nearly prefect seme. The translation was relatively smooth, and the story flowed well. Overall, I can't recommend this yaoi novel enough, and I will look for more by this author. 』 (Sleeping with Money) 『I though this book was great.
