It's a little gross to see it done but not something that should stop you from getting this manga. The second story is about a teacher and student. The third story is historical and is about a man who is constantly saying he isn't into kids but finds himself falling for one. He is a metal worker and finds the kid passed out in his shack. The kid is young (14 ish maybe). This may put some people off so just wanted to warn you. Over all there where several graphic scenes none were explicit, to me anyway.』 『Akio Yamane's ancestors have died young for generations, and he despises the cursed lineage his family has given him. (Very well done emotionally driven Yaoi novel.) 『This one really surpasses my expectation of a Yaoi novel. OK so this is my 4th one. But having read alot of M/M romance and Yaoi mangas, I think I can fairly say this one is really good. The setting itself is lovely, quaint and dream-like as the story takes place in a little cafe attached to a house in a backward town against the mountains in Hokkaido. The story itself starts off in an almost surreal way as an old dog is waken up from its dreams by a stopping bus. As for the 3 characters, Yuuki, Kamishiro and Shin, each of them is distinct and well developed despite this being a slim 250 pages Yaoi novel. Theirs is a love triangle revolving around the cafe/house owner, Yuuki. The mangaka has done a remarkable job dwelling into Yuuki's emotional pain. Yuuki could not move on as he could not let his dead lover, Tsukada, go. He could not bring himself to accept Shin's love. Shin is Yuuki's close friend and has been a pillar for Yuuki since Tsukada died. Then one day out of the blues, a rugged man with a limp appears. He is Kamishiro with a mysterious background. Kamishiro is also a chef by trade and more or less forced Yuuki to hire him. Thereon, it is one emotional ride for the 3 guys as they try to sort out their feelings, more so for Yuuki who is forced to confront his pain and feelings. I really enjoy this one and finished it in one sitting. The sex scenes are well done too and the graphics interspersed among the pages are lovely. As commented by one reviewer, both Yuuki and Kamishiro are not your typical uke and seme. Yuuki is strong in his own way and a pretty aggressive sexual partner. Kamishiro is special in his silence and I wish the mangaka has written the story from his view point too as I would love to read how his feelings for Yuuki grows. This is one emotionally driven love story, with angst filled and touching moments. One could easily forgive the publisher for some typos. Strongly recommended for Yaoi and M/M romance fans.』
(Better than I thought) 『I have bought more June's manga (&novel) than any other publisher, so I'm always a little skeptical when buying any June's novel because of how awful...most of the novel I read/own have been edited. Beside that point, most novel/storyline just doesn't go well with me, so I bought this one out of whim because the art is beautiful (get ready to drool) and the back summary sound interesting (it says more than enough). I can feel the angst just from the summary alone. XD (My favorite kind of story)
Well, I wasn't disappointed. X3 The story was solid and interesting. The characters has good development. You get to know the characters and personality by the end of the novel. Yuuki, the uke, isn't the wimpy kind nor does he sound feminine. (My favorite kind of uke) He is as masculine as the Kamishiro, the seme.<3 Kamishiro also isn't the mean and bully-kind of seme. He's not an abusive seme and you'll come to really like him the same way you will come to like Yuuki and Yuuki's friend Shin, who also play a big part in the storyline.
I admit to have shed a little tears while reading this book. It's very touching and sweet. It's a good book so I do recommend this novel.
However, there are a few missing words and grammars here and there, but other than that everything flow very nicely so the reading should go smoothly. I would say this one is almost on the same level of editing as Ai no Kusabi, which pleases me. =)』
(Satisfying Dream) 『I found Better than a Dream to be more real in a sense than many other works coming out of DMP. It has to do with Yuuki's relationship with his friend and his newfound relationship with the strange and mysterious Kamishiro. Yuuki is still healing from the death of his lover Tsukada, an adventurous risk taker who dies in an avalanche. Things don't really get cleared up until the end, and then it's a little too late to really make sense of things, instead I was kind of scratching my head going "huh"? I found that Yuuki's friend, Shin, made this little novel more interesting, his needing to wait and give Yuki some space before trying to fill in Tsukada's place made sense until Tsukada comes into the picture and Yuki is immediately taken by him. What I found this novel to do was play out more like a soap opera, the writing seems more solid and the plot doesn't really wander off. The illustrations were very sexy and the cover was very dream like. I do recommend this novel though to other yaoi fans, it is a good read and maybe better than a dream.

He also looks like an eight year old. The seme was pretty hot and kind of tortured but it was hard to understand why he was so into the uke. Also, there are no actual mermaids in this story. I guess that would make it pretty hard for them to have sex and, after all,isn't that the whole point?』
(Fun and sexy) 『I was in the mood for something light and fun, and this certainly fit the bill. Even though this is light in tone, it doesn't disappoint as far as the sex scenes. I'd really like to see another volume of this.』
(Delightfully cute!) 『This fantasy Yaoi is so cute and just pure fun. This is Vol 1 and I definitely look forward to more. Kanan is such an adorable uke, totally endearing in his innocence and timidity. As for his Mr Mermaid, Kaioh, he may be aloof and seems cold at the beginning, but once he starts caring for Kanan, Kaioh is equally lovable. Their interaction is lively, amusing, sweet and sexy. A lot of sex though the "lower parts" are hidden. Not a problem at all as the characters and fast paced and lively plot more than make up for this. There is a little spin-off on Kaioh's rival and a lonely clam (yes a clam!) which is enjoyable and sweet too. Love the expressive artwork. Read this a straight 2 times. Yes that enjoyable!』
(Light, Enjoyable and Fluffy) 『Due to the other review, I decided to pick 'Selfish Mr. Mermaid' up, and was happy that I did.
The manga is a light, fast read, with cute characters and a cute plot. This is not a manga with a heavy storyline, in fact I felt as if I knew what was going to happen the first time through. However, as it was a fun journey, with a sweet romance and a happy ending, I was satisfied.
The main character is overly shy and submissive, who meets a mermaid who is overly rude and dominant. They end up living together (the mermaid moves in without a 'by your leave') ;), fall in love, have much sex and then travel to his underwater city for a a bit of excitement before the obligatory happy ending. There is a secondary romance at the end of the book which also sticks firmly in the sweet and cute.
The sex is plentiful, but done in the 'important bits hidden' style that is so popular in manga (I wish the 'important bits shown in abundance' style were the more popular one!), and the artwork is pleasing.
I would say this is a solid 4 for lovers of fluff, though people who like angst/heavy emotion/er...and real plots...may not enjoy it quite as much as I did.』
(WOW!!!! What can I say but WOW!!!) 『First of all I loved this book way too much almost as much as Our kingdom. The charcters feel so real, the art is very beautiful, and the story itself was so funny. I just got the book today and I read it in 30 min I could not put it down.(for a norm person it would prob take longer. Im just a really fast reader)It wouldn't have taken so long if it wasn't for all the interuptions. The only sad part was the plot where was the plot hopefully in vol 2.
Another thing I studied many things when I was in school animals, sharks, Angels, Demons, etc and I've read almost everything on mermaids and all the tales on them say that they have the tail of a fish. (like the little mermaid) Maybe in vol 2 it well explain why Mr Kaioh and his family and enemy(haru) don't have a tail just human legs. And I never heard anything about them able to live on land. Sorry I get carried away with these kind of things.
Other than that little fact loved this sooooo much it was kinda scary. Kanan is so a crybaby and Kaioh is scary really scary. For those who don't believe m/m don't read this lot's and lot's of sex. For thos who love M/M or Like it or don't mind or just don't care this is worth every cent. ;)』 『Kanan has a boyish face and gets picked on often because of his tiny figure.
