(Vol 2 continues to fascinate as the plot thickens!) 『Sometimes Vol 2 in a trilogy tends to slack as it is somewhat a bridge between the beginning and the end. But not so for the 2nd Volume of this fascinating fantasy of angels versus demons, good versus evil, with a twisted Christianity angle. In vol 2 we find Karasu and Shirasagi, the star-crossed lovers, declaring and affirming their love for one another, the scenes here touching and tender. If you are looking for sex, you have to wait till Vol 3 as the mangaka teases us that it is ordained that the mixing of the 2 species is taboo. The plot is fast paced, exciting and fascinating and the characters engaging and these are more than enough to hold me spellbound until the last page. 2 interesting characters are introduced, the mysterious and wise cracking owner of Shirasagi's adopted parrot and a worldly-wise priest who teaches Shirasagi the meaning of love. I find the story line very well developed with hidden meanings. As for the mangaka's artwork, you just have to appreciate the complex battle scenes with wings flying and swords clashing. Vol 2 ends in a cliff hanger and now to wait patiently for Vol 3 in Nov.』 『Karasu may have retrieved Shirasagi from the clutches of Beelzebub once, but Hell isn't quite ready to give up its claim just yet. However, the appearance of Koumori and Sarugami--a new ally and an old friend--may force our pair to not only acknowledge their debt to each other, but their true feelings as well.』

They part ways, and one (Christophe) becomes a priest while the other (Alain) spends his life wanting to avenge his mother's death. Later, Alain is hired by an evil Cardinal to try to tempt Christophe into an affair. The two men reunite, and things get crazy from there. The story is really confusing, but the artwork is nice. However, on some pages it is obvious that hand drawings have been mixed with computer graphics, and the two forms don't mesh well at all. I give the manga 3.5 stars, mostly because the drawings of Alain and Christophe were gorgeous. It was good, but not a keeper.』
(short but awesome!) 『I think if this had been longer it woulda been a lot better but either way I am a huge D&D fan and this novely-thing didn't disappoint in the least! I have a thing for priest and that era of dress so it just made the 3 or so days waiting for this to arrive hellish but it was worth it』
("Lily&Rose" Simply Blossoms) 『I've been following Dany&Dany since their fanart days for years, and now I'm pleased to own their first title published just for the US.
"The Lily and the Rose" is a fine story and beautifully illustrated. The main characters have real depth, and I love the way their stories intertwine. I felt the ending was a little rushed, and while the illustrations of the characters are gorgeous, there was a bit too much "cut and paste" background stuff for my tastes, and I found it a bit distracting in some places. Otherwise, the art is very dynamic with a definite eye for costume design and detail.
I'm giving this 5 stars because the character development was excellent, and because of the last two pages of the story, which are just perfect (you might even need a tissue). This is one of my favorite mangas to date, and definitely worth the read.』
(Liaisons dangereuses in Yaoi fashion) 『A slimy cardinal and ascheming noblewoman put an innocent your priest in jeopardy. His former lover is to involve him in a scandal, making him subject to the base whims of the cardinal. But French revolution looms, and clergy and nobles won't be in charge for long. Will innocent love triumph? Well written and sumptuouly drawn, this graphic novelette is a masterpiece!』
(A Great Read!) 『This a great manga, it has a plot the art is really wonderful and keeps you guessing to the end. My only complaint is I wish it was longer and that there was more of a solution to the end. But overall I loved this manga ^^!』 『Christophe wants nothing more than to be a simple country priest. When he refuses to sleep with a corrupt Cardinal, he's forced to work in the same manor as the man who almost tempted him away from the cloth when they were younger. Alain was Christophe's true love, but Christophe chose to join the priesthood rather than be with him. Alain bitterly remembers Christophe's rejection. He accepts the Cardinal's assignment: destroy Christophe's career with a scandal. Will his cruel conviction hold once Alain learns how devastated Christophe was to have to deny his feelings for him?』
