The first story is the title story, Meeting You and is a school drama. Himeshiro is the very popular seme and Touro, the infatuated uke. Hiimeshiro gets asked out a lot and tends to not trust new suitors due their expectations of him that he feels he can't live up to, which subsequently causes them to leave. When Touro decides to profess his love for Himeshiro, Himeshiro decides to test his feelings for him by essentially humiliating him and treating him rather poorly. The first chapter covers these trials whereas the second chapter delves more into their budding relationship. There is also a bonus chapter at the end for this couple, which is humorous. Meeting You is the only story where the uke is very young looking, blushes excessively and cries, which tends to get old. Plus it makes it harder to understand why Himeshiro would treat him so harshly when his personality just doesn't seem to warrant that sort of treatment.
The second story, How to Find a Gentle Kiss, is one chapter and is about two old friends reconnecting through work after a misunderstanding three years earlier. The plot of this one is also a little cliché; one friend confesses his love for the other and then runs off and goes overseas. They lose touch until accidentally seeing each other again after three years only to find out they work at the same company. The last story, Mornings at the Bus Stop, is loosely tied to this one and is about two guys who meet at the bus stop every morning and through these short encounters fall in love with each other. One of them works at the same company as the two guys from the second story and they appear in this story as well. This is probably the most graphic of all the stories for what is shown andhow short the story is. Each story shows some graphic detail but I don't feel Meeting You as a whole is as graphic as her more recent story, Don't Rush Love.
Mio Tennohji's stories tend to run on the cliché side when it comes to her plots and her seme and uke roles. I recently reviewed Don't Rush Love and felt it suffered the same issue. I don't dislike this one as much as far as plot is concerned since there are different stories going along and I thought the story about the two at the bus stop was kind of cute although the love at first site bit does tend to get a little old. Lust at first site is ok too! Her characters are tall and rather lanky and the ones in this title are cute but not overly sexy in my opinion. The sex scenes are explicit but a little toned down from other works I'veseen but overall they were pretty good. The translation is good and speech bubbles aren't hard to follow. The illustrations are nice and the book itself was one of the last to get a dust jacket and comic strip on the inside back cover. One thing to note is that the four panel strip in this one is not 801-chan but one that is about the two main characters from Meeting You.
Overall, I didn't hate the book but I do think it is rather mediocre. Don't Rush Love had a bad plot but the characters were sexy and the sex was graphic and plentiful, which made up for it. Meeting You has a slightly better plot but the sex isn't as good. It's not bad, it's just not enough to make me want to recommend this book for fans of hard yaoi.

(Light hearted explicit enjoyable Yaoi.) 『I enjoy the main story, Meeting you, which has a nice plot. 3 parts in this story. In the first part, the seme does come across a jerk as he manipulates the younger uke, justifying it as a test of the younger boy's sincerity. The uke may be your typical uke but there is something about his sincerity, innocence and gullibility which I find endearing. The second part finds the seme more caring and loving towards his silently suffering uke. Maybe the mangaka could have make this more angst filled as reference is made to their classmates' distaste of their relationship. The last bonus short chapter is really funny as the uke's imagination runs wild! The sex scenes are explicit and I always like the way the mangaka draws the lower body parts. LOL.
The second short story on 2 close school mates meeting 3 years later lacks somewhat in depth.
I enjoy the 3rd story on a younger seme who meets his uke everyday at the bus stop. Wish this one is longer.
I like this mangaka's unique artwork. Her boys have a somewhat innocent air about them which makes the explicit sex scenes somehow more naughty. This is an earlier work than "The sky over my spectacles". An enjoyable explicit Yaoi if you are not looking for more angst. And of course good quality from 801media.』 『When Tooru confessed his love to classmate Himejou, he wasn't expecting violins to start up in the background or the clouds in the sky to part. He was expecting a simple yes or no answer. But instead of a simple reply, Himejou decides to tease Tooru and sets up various trails of love he must complete to prove his affection! Will Tooru get fed up with these weird conditions and humiliating acts? Or will Himejou get serious?』

If you're new to their artistic style, keep an open mind and you'll be rewarded with a terrific plot as well as lavish backdrops, great wardrobes, and of course, stunning creatures in the roles of a tenacious journalist, an openly artificial android, an idolized dancer and his mentor, for whom the impassioned statement often voiced by irate managers, "I MADE you what you are today!" wouldn't be too far of a stretch.
I've just finished reading it twice over (note the use of the word "reading" versus "leafing through to see the pretty bishies.") I was so impressed that I put all of their other works into my shopping cart. :) The intrigue, creative concept and evoked emotion put "Anima" into the top tier of GloBL titles. I highly recommend this book!
』
(The artists are in top form, here) 『The story is suspenseful and touching, the ambience fascinating, the graphics an exquisite work of art, like that in "The Lily and the Rose", or even better. The protagonist's characters are very well defined, and the cyberpunk athmosphere dreamy and suggestive. it's clearly an alternate world, yet references to our reality are present. A skilled, magnificent work, that would please even those who, like myself, aren't particularly fond of mangas. But D&D are something unique.』
(A top notch GloBL title...) 『Anima is a GloBL title by Italian creators Dany&Dany. D&D have a very distinctive artistic style and once you've seen it, it is easily recognizable. Their typical character has the large anime style eyes and feminine facial features but don't let that fool you; their bodies are muscular and very nicely drawn. There is a certain sensuality that exudes from their characters that I find appealing.
Typically, I like to read the story and then read the back cover to see if my perception of the story is similar to the synopsis on the back cover. Surprisingly, I do not agree with the description given of Anima. This is not a bad thing, I just feel like the true emotion and intentions of the characters were not really represented correctly. Patrick is presented as very cynical and calculating and that his arrival in Danya's world is a bad thing for Danya. That all being said, let me give you my take on the story.
Anima is set in a world where humans and androids coexist. Danya Arseniev is a world famous dancer and Patrick Owens is an award winning expose journalist that quickly falls for the beautiful dancer. Danya's agent and mentor Nikolaj is not happy with Danya's subsequent involvement with the journalist and for good reason. Danya has a few secrets of his own that if found out would mean the end for Nikolaj and Danya both.
I really ended up liking this story although it is rather short so it was a bit rushed. The manga is only 140 pages long and for this story, I really think it warranted more pages. It is such a unique story that it is truly a disservice to end it so quickly. Danya and Patrick fall for each other rather quickly and I think the extra pages would have been well used on developing their courtship a bit more. That all being said, their courtship and subsequent romance are sweet (think lots of blushing, cuteness, and the occasional chibi). However, don't think it's all just sweetness with no substance. The secret Danya hides is a pretty big one and the pressure from Nikolaj and the mob puts a lot of pressure on this newly formed couple.
This leads me to a few additional things that I really liked that Dany&Dany did that is different from the standard BL manga. First off, there were three sex scenes (pretty steamy, no full frontal shots but plenty of everything else to make up for it) and there was no definite uke/seme roles. The first two one of them topped whereas in the last one they switched roles. Secondly, the one that you would guess to be the uke (if you had to choose) didn't pull the typically "I'm a wimpy uke who doesn't have a backbone and needs to be saved" crap. Lastly, there were a few situations where I thought the typical lack of communication type misunderstanding was going to occur that is so typical in BL manga but surprisingly it didn't. They actually acted like a pretty normal couple. Weird, I know.
As far as the book itself, as I mentioned before, it is rather short compared to the usual 180ish pages we usually get. The illustrations are very detailed with lovely contrasts of darks and lights. I think the characters are very attractive and I like the contrast of the feminine face with the masculine body. The plot was different and the sex scenes were nicely done. There were a few grammatical errors with either words missing or a word too many but not enough to be distracting. I had absolutely no trouble following the speech bubbles either, which is always a plus. If I had any complaint about this one it would simply be that it wasn't long enough and as a writer, that isn't a bad complaint to have if you ask me. Anima is a lovely title done by two lovely mangaka and well worth a read, in my opinion.

*To be fair, I do prefer hard yaoi so my review reflects my preference. If you don't prefer full frontal, you'll love this title even more. 』
(The Best Yet) 『Anima is Dany&Dany's best manga to date. The story is tight, and the art is top notch. If you're a fan of GloBL [global BL] that resembles the beauty of Japanese yaoi, then you'll love Anima. If you're a fan of the Dany's, then you'll be proud to have this one in your collection.
As for the steam punk and sci-fi, Anima is more about the romance--those labels are hardly relevant, you wont even notice...
I won't spoil the storyline here, but it centers on the love affair between a dancer, with his own secrets to hide, and an investigative reporter who doesn't believe in secrets. Add in a manipulative ballet coach with ties to the mafia, and an emotionless android that proves to be the greatest friend a man can have--and you have one great read. Kudos to Dany&Dany for this single volume treat.』 『In a steam-punk futuristic world the beautiful dancer Danya seems too perfect and pure. He's unlucky to have an obsessed fan who is also a cynical journalist. The reporter Patrick has good reason to hate the world, and all the people in it. He only trusts his emotionless android Ed. He'll stalk Danya under the pretext of article research. The truth is, although Danya is the only man to ever fascinate him, Patrick can't accept that even this beautiful dancer is not without sin and vice. Will he love him? Or expose the one secret that could destroy him?』
