Happily it goes much deeper than that. Our main characters, Georges and Robert, had a rocky road from the beginning and its getting bumpier. Yes, we know they care for one another. Yes, we know they belong together. Yet there are outside forces testing them every step of the way. I think that only enhances the story, which keeps getting better and better.
I am eagerly awaiting the next volume(s)!』
(Building up to a fantastic ending (I hope)) 『La Esperanca may be labeled a yaoi novel here on Amazon and by publisher's June Manga, but it certainly is not. It's defintely more of a shonen-ai, but this doesn't really matter to me as the storyline of the series has kept me glued all the way to this treasured volume. Poor Georges has been putting up with the memory of Robert's old love Grace now to the point that it is effecting all areas of his life. It has come time to push for answers, especially when he has come to the realization that his feelings for Robert has him emotionally conflicted and finding it hard to function physically. "A different kind of love": it's that thought that keeps the characters, and me, in limbo that builds to the upcoming final book. I can only hope that the ball doesn't get dropped in the last book as many series tend to do in my opinion by rushing conclusions. As always the artwork is gorgeous in this volume and I look forward to seeing what will happen when the desparately searching Robert finds what I believe will be a very distraught Georges who is about to learn the truth as to why he is linked to Grace.』 『Georges is left reeling from the encounter at the orchestra. Realizing that his feelings for Robert are very different from his feelings for his friends, Georges is battling with pent-up feelings and he can't shake the image of Grace from his mind. "Maybe this is a different kind of love..."』

And of course Robert's family! His brothers are a hilarious bunch and they all love Robert so much that you find it sad that he doesn't realize that :(』
("I love Robert....but it's a different kind of love.") 『Finally, our boys stop avoiding each other, but will it last? Of course not! In this volume we get some insurance though, through another kiss and as it appears-- Georges kiss back! But what now? Why do he have these feelings? Get ready for more of a emotional ride.』 『Georges finally catches up to Robert, and tells him that he now knows about the past. As he exhorts Robert to tell him more about himself, Robert is overcome with emotion and kisses Georges. However, Georges realizes that Robert is only seeing the dead girl, Grace, and his words jolt Robert back to his senses. As Georges determines to get his rosary back, he hears Alain's last name, finally learning that Alain was Grace's brother, in name only. As the tragedy of the past is brought to light, Georges must practice the piano for the school festival and music recital, but he cannot concentrate. As Georges practices in the music room, he is suddenly visited by celebrated pianist, Laurent Onyx - the second of Robert's brothers - who gives him a little pep talk.』
