We had a small set that not everyone could get in on .... with babies, toddlers, third graders and adults here. I purchased two one hundred count sets for the building competitions. Hands on fun for all ages.
i got this within 2 days i think which was awesome, the collors are bright, i got all the parts, it didnt have a bad paint smell (although the paint made some of them stick together), and we all can play with them. i got this with 2 other melissa and doug products and am very happy
Although the blocks themselves are all much smaller than I had imagined (choking hazards not for the young child), they are great little blocks!

I bought them when my son was 2 and he is 4 now and still making castles and towers with them. A timeless toy and child is sure to enjoy.
This product is durable, colorful and engaging. It is compact enough to be easily transported and fits nicely back into the box after being played with.

I'd played this game years ago. It grows on you. It's fun for ages 8 to 80.
This game is a lot of fun....but the cards are so cheap! we played just a few games and they were already starting to tear.
This is a great game for everyone in the family. It really helps children with numbers and sequencing.
It's a fun game from way back.
It's a bit educational regarding math skills.
Since it's a card game, and no card is durable against folding and ripping, I can't say it's durable.
Rack-O has been a longtime favorite with our family. We have played it with each of our grandchildren when then were 5-12 years old. It emphasizes "larger than" and "smaller than" number relationships. Often their parents join in the fun.

I hear he loves it and it gets him making his sounds, which is important.
I got this for my 25 month old daughter. Not wanting to overwhelm her i gave her alphabets A-G the first day.
That's it , I did not play with her or engage with her on this. She spent around an hour playing with this. The next day these two things happened .
1. As we were going down in an elevator she told her father " Papa , you pressed 'G'"
2. When I spelled out 'egg' to my husband wanting to avoid saying this in front of her, i said 'e''g''g' and she chimed in with "No mummy it is 'e','f','g' " :)

It's been two weeks now and she received 'P','Q','R' yesterday! There has not been any confusion or forgetting of previously learned alphabets.

We keep on getting surprised by where she keeps on finding HER alphabets now! on bill boards , shop fronts , magazines , mobile phone!
Have gifted this to another friend and this is going to be a staple recommendation now!
This toy is great fun for my daughter and me. My only complaint is that this thing eats batteries like nobody's business. If you leave it on for an extended period of time your batteries are toast!!! I strongly recommend rechargeable batteries.
We purchased this toy for our one year old and she loves it! We knew we wanted the refrigerator magnets but all the ones we looked at were not kid friendly. These are durable and she really enjoys the songs after each letter and the main ABC song.
I recently gave this to my nephew because my daughter loved this so much. (She has the older version-the blue/green square with a frog). I gave this to her for Easter when she was 18 months. She knew a couple of letters at the time. We opened it together and she wanted me to tell her the letters. The next day I heard her saying all of the letters with the magnets. It took a little while to get the hang of putting the letters in the holder in the right direction, but not too long. I credit leapfrog to my child's love of letters. (and a little bit of Sesame Street and SuperWhy) She's 2 now and I'm thinking about getting her the LeapFrog magnet set for 3 letter words!

My grandsons were delighted with this product. They had requested these Lego toys specically to me. Thank you for helping me to give them such nice learning tools.

My nephew loves Legos. He wanted a Lego Star Wars set for his seventh birthday. This set was easy for him to build by himself. Once he built it he has a great time "flying" it around the house.

The set is small as the number of pieces and the dimenstions indicate so don't expect anything big. I think it is a good introductory Star Wars set.

The price on Lego.com is $9.99 plus shipping which is just a little more than Amazon's price.

I was shocked when I opened the case, I actually thought it's used because there were only half case of Lego. Dont know why they use such a big case for just a few pieces. Really not worth the money, really disappointed.
Our 19-month old son loves this - his first LEGO set. Each day he plays with it, and he's learning eye-hand coordination putting the pieces together. The box it comes with is perfect too, as it stores the LEGO's and has more room for other small toys as well.
Other reviews complain it should have more pieces, and while I agree, our son does not. For him, this is the perfect toy.
And really, shouldn't the review be based mostly on what the child thinks?

I love Lego and Duplo blocks, but for $35 all you get are 33 pieces? It is ridiculous, my husband and I were shocked when our son received it for Christmas. The blocks are fun but not without buying the expansion pack. So for some blocks for a little kid, you are going to wind up shelling out $60+. It isn't worth it.
We got this "My First Lego Duplo" set in December 2008 for our twins because our older son loved his starter box of Lego Duplos when he was the same age (about a year and a half old).

In 2004, it cost about fyfteen bucks on sale (normally twenty) for a starter box/chest that contained 140 blocks. I have searched high and low, and that same plastic chest with 140 blocks is nowhere to be found.

Instead we got the current version of the starter Duplo box. The blocks themselves are great -- the few of them that there are. This rectangular bucket, which is just slightly smaller than the earlier chest, contains just 33 blocks, which don't build very many things and nothing big.

That's a small fraction of the quantity for the same price.

Later I found that the closest thing to our old 140 block chest is the bulk set of 144 blocks without a storage chest for around f0rty bux via online or mail order. DUPLO Bulk Set

So although our children like the Duplos (even my older son still uses them more than four years later) and they never break or wear out, boo to Lego for its stinginess to kids.

I am so dissapointed in this pool. The add says it has a drain plug but it does NOT :(
Just bought this for my three year old since going to the pool is a hassle. It is much biger than I thought. It took just 20-25 minutes to fill it up with air using the quick pump advertised below. I am able to fit in there with my daughter, my two sons and still have room for one more adult. An adult and about six toddlers can easily fit in there. The water level is not too high so the little ones were not scared. My three yr old had a blast and so did her baby brothers. I bought this thinking it was just a little pool for my three year old, but this is a good sized pool which holds enogh water and can actually be harmful if not used with caution. It took about 15 more minutes to completely fill this up with water. In a nutshell: This is a really great buy for the money an fun for all ages.
I bought the pool for myself, but it will be handy when the grandkids come to visit. The only problem I have that they really didn't warn about is that it really needs to be PERFECTLY level. I don't think I have a totally level spot in my back yard. If it is not fully level you cannot fill it to the fill line. So if your yard is not billiard table level, try for the best spot.
My daughter and her friends had great fun in the pool on her 4th Birthday Party.
The swimming pool I purchased seems to be of good quality. It inflated easily enough with a hand pump. It is a little hard to empty because of the position of the drain, but we managed.

My kids, ages 12, 11, 8, and 7, all love chess now! The cards make it easy for anyone to learn, and it adds a bit of randomness to the game (which gives the weaker player a fair chance at winning).
My 5-year old knows the basic rules of chess, the card game kept him interested in an hour or so. Now use it as a regular chess set.
WE LOVE this game. I bought this because as I was watching my 6 year old play checkers one day with his hand on his chin (much like the statue of "The Thinker") planning his next move so as to make the right choice I thougt, "I bet he'd like chess, but I'M not going to be the one to teach him!" Then at work my boss mentioned this game and I think it's brilliant. It teaches board set-up as well as the name of each piece by sight and which way each of those pieces can move (and which ways they can't). What it removes (until you are ready) is the strategy part. You can add that in at your OWN speed. It's great!
Finally, a way to learn chess without stress! The secret? An innovative deck of action cards. Each depicts a chess piece and how it moves. Once you become comfortable with the moves and powers of each chess piece, you can flip the two-sided board over and play standard chess. Includes rules for two variations of playing using the action cards, and all the necessary rules for standard chess.

I picked this up because I thought it looked like a good idea, since the color and shape similar to "real" one, and indeed it is. However, once my son was able to figure out how to work all the sounds, he was also able to figure out it wasn't the "real" one!
After searching for some time for a play remote for our daughter, we found this at a local Walmart store. It's EXACTLY what I had been looking for!

Looks close enough to the real thing that your baby shouldn't be too disappointed when you swap your real remote with this one.

My daughter loves how the blue eyelids close.

All the buttons makes SEVERAL sounds - the volume buttons on it actually do turn it up and turn it down in volume!

Her favorite button to push is the number 6 because it plays cute music.

I always bring this with when we travel in the car or shopping at the mall. Small enough to fit in your purse, but big enough to occupy their time for a while!

VERY durable - I can't count the number of times it's been thrown around and dropped and it works perfectly!

This toy caught my eye because it looks almost exactly like my actual TV remote. Same color, shape, even the buttons are similarly placed. My son has an obsession with our TV remote, and whenever he gets his little hands on it, it takes me forever to undo whatever it is he's done to the TV settings!

As soon as I received this, I didn't give it to him right off. I placed it on the arm of our couch (where I tend to place our actual remote) and let him find it on his own. When he spotted it, he made a mad dash for it, and was just thrilled to pieces! He kept looking at me sideways, wondering when I was gonna take it away, and sat quietly on the couch with it for some time!

I absolutely recommend this little toy! I never put it with all his other toys, I always keep it in the living room where the real remote is so he can feel like he's playing with the actual thing...this was definitely a smart purchase!
Gave this to our niece for her 1st Birthday. Huge hit! Great for cars and public places to entertain her as it has volume control and fits in diaper bag easily.
Our 8 month old was fascinated with the real remotes, so we were hoping this would be a good distraction. It's working...she likes this toy. It's really cute and each button has several different sounds/sayings, so it doesn't get too repetitive.
The silly sounds remote is a pretend remote for the child that plays silly sounds and phrases when you press the buttons. Press any of the 10 number buttons to get a character phrase or silly sound effect. The light also flashes to the sound effects. Scrabble has always been a great educational game. The first Super scrabble board I had was like the old boards, with tiles that could be bumped out of place. This board solves that problem. My only knock is that the board will not turn easily unless you're on a totally flat surface. But hey, what's perfect?
Super Scrabble Deluxe Edition
Though the set comes with double the tiles (200) and more rows/columns than the original, the board was disappointing. The original deluxe Scrabble (manufactured by S&R)was on a turntable and had deeper edges than this new Hasbro version. This board does not move as easily and has a chintzy feel to it.
My wife and I are avid Scrabble players. She is actually very avid and serious. She is also very difficult to buy presents for or to surprise with something that she really likes.

When I found Super Scrabble I decided to take a chance and bought it for her for Christmas.

She was skeptical when she opened it, but we played our first game a few days later with our sons who were both home for the holidays and thoroughly enjoyed it. My wife declared that she never wanted to play normal scrabble again!!

It is a great and challenging game. It does take longer to play but does result in higher scores and somehow makes comebacks more possible than in the original version.

Yes the board is a bit flimsy, but we mounted it permanently on a piece of¼ inch plywood and it is much more sturdy. It no longer works like a lazy susan, but that could be remedied if I was creative enough.

Two complaints about this item. 1-The board, especially the hinges are extremely flimsy. I don't expect it to hold up. and 2-Believe it or not, there are too many "bonus" squares...makes it almost too easy to score big and takes some of the fun out of it.
The design and craftmanship of this board is very poor. They use inexpensive plastic hinges on each end which causes "warping" of the thin plastic used. If they would 'spring' for two additional plastic hinges between each end it would greatly help in reducing the warping of the board. As it is I am expecting my third shipment in hopes of finally receiving "one" board that isn't warped and I can lay my letters flat. Upon picking up the board one has to be extremely careful as it tends to break apart at the hinges.

Overall as a game it's terrific having more spaces and tiles to play with as it makes for a much more interesting and challenging game.

it won't go over tall grass well, but it's fun for my four year old as far as remotes go. Feels sturdy. Now, we haven't done any type of water yet.
I have three of these in various styles (gator, shark, and stingray). Got them for my 3 grandbabies, ages 6,6,5 and they love these things. My grandson loves the fact that his controller also conrols his cousin's stingray. The granddaughter not so impressed when he makes her car do something totally different than what she had in mind.
We like this toy because it has power and is durable for the price. We haven't used it outside yet, but it climbs over things in the house that we are surprised at. The controller takes a little getting used to, but we figured it out quickly and my 4 yr old can use it easily now that he understands. I would recommend this for the combination of price, durability, ease of use (though a little tricky at first), power, and how cool it looks!
Bought this for my grandson. He loves it. Lots of Fun. Plays with it in a creek that passes through his family's property. Can play with it anywhere, either onl and or lakeside/ocean side.
I purchased both this Gator Morphibian Radio Control car and the Land Shark for my two kids for Christmas. My son is 4-1/2 and my daughter is 3. They are both able to use the controllers with little difficulty now that they have had more practice. Knowing which knob to push to turn the cars left and right was a little tricky at first but they are getting the hang of it. The best thing is that both kids can use both cars at the same time without any problems with the radio frequencies interfering with each other. These cars are pretty tough and can withstand being driven into walls and each other, driven over ramps made out of stacked up books, and even withstand being flipped upside down. We have yet to try them outside as we have about 10 inches of snow right now! I gave one of these as a birthday gift to a 4 year old friend of my son who loves it as well. His mother asked where I purhased it so she could get another one for her other son. I would recommend these cars if you are looking for something fun for your kids (or husband...mine enjoys playing with them as well). The educational value is not overly high in the traditional sense but these cars do work on visual motor, visual perception and problem solving skills.
