(Can't believe I didn't buy it sooner)
(scattergories)
(Best game ever)
(Intellectual Family Fun) I've been playing Scattegories since I was a kid and it was Scattegories that got me hooked on board games in general. That three minutes of silence during the scribbling portion of Scattegories is the most intense three minutes in all of gamedom. It is possible to exhaust all of the cattegories if played enough times, but fear not because unlike many other games, Scattegories did make refills. A great party game, but alas I have retired from it because I argue on behalf of my words a bit too much. This is truely a game that you have to think, but don't have to be book smart. It is a very fun game to play with a small or large group. One thing we don't like about it is the timer is loud and its hard to think when all you hear is it going. my daughter was so happy to receive her own copy of the game, Scattergories. she is always playing with her friends at their homes, but now she can play at our home too. we have so much fun trying to get answers to the questions and beat the clock. a good game for short or long time periods. This is definatly my favorite board game. Its a whitty hilarous game that is sure to bring a good laugh or two to an awkward family gathering. My family and I love to play this game together. Scattergories challenges your creativity, because if two players come up with matching answers, neither player scores a point for that answer. The game has interesting categories on each card, and there are a lot of different cards. Even if you do decide to replay a category card, the letter will be different! The one thing that isn't absolutely great about Scattergories is the included timer- it has a horribly loud ticking noise that makes it difficult to think. I recommend using your own egg timer or stopwatch to time the three minutes- my grandma even sets her kitchen timer. Right off the top of your head name a restaurant, fruit, toy, Halloween costume, and weaponand make sure your answers all begin with the same initial letter. There are 144 different categories to challenge your mind. It is for 2 to 6 players. The Package contents: six folders, 36 category cards, two answer pads, six pencils, 20-sided die, six plastic clip strips, timer and die-rolling and rules board. Color of parts may vary. Scattergories is a fast-paced word game that's a real crowd pleaser. Each player takes a category list with 12 categories--such as vegetable, state, president, things you throw away--and must write down the name of one item that fits into each category. Sounds easy enough, but each item has to begin with a specific letter that is determined when the 20-sided die is rolled. For instance, you roll the letter "R." Your answer list for the above categories might look something like this: rutabaga, Rhode Island, Roosevelt, rubbish, etc. You have to think fast, because a round lasts only 3 minutes! Players score points for each unique answer.--Alison Golder Rerations < Scattergories - Milton Bradley Board Games >

(Kids love it)
(Fun but not as exciting as anticipated)
(Write on this globe with a dry erase marker!)
(Fun and educational!) I bought this globe for my 7-year-old daughter, because she did not know the difference between Chicago and Chile. Only a few weeks after we started playing with games on this globe, she remembers most of major country names and locations. She also enjoys listening musics for each country. It is an excellent toy! Bought this toy as a birthday gift for my 2 boys ages 5 and 7. They both love pointing to all the different continents/countries and are learning places even I didn't know existed! The only problem so far (and we've only had the globe for a few days) is one time the pen wasn't working when we touched it to the globe, but after turning the globe off it restarted and has been working fine. Hopefully this won't continue to be a problem (considering the price of this toy there shouldn't be ANY problems), otherwise the toy is great! 7 year old son asked for the globe, but doesn't play with it as much as Magnetix, Army tank, etc. I was hoping he'd be fascinated with learning non-stop, but he really only likes the music from different countries on the globe. A tip I learned from my toddler (a happy accident): The LeapFrog Explorer Smart Globe can be written on with a dry erase marker and wiped off.
I was angry when I saw that my 2-year-old had scribbled on her older sister's globe, but when I saw how easily it wiped off, I had the idea to intentionally write on it as we learn geography in our homeschool.
Our whole family loves this globe. My husband and I challenge each other with the games. Our 5-year-old tries to identify countries and see if she's correct, and our 2-year-old likes to tap randomly with the stylus and repeat whatever she hears. It can't be a bad thing when a 2-year-old says "Indonesia," right? I bought this for my son's 9th birthday and he loves it! Our whole family has enjoyed playing the challenge games and my son is becoming hard to beat. We're all learning more about geography and the challenges help us to learn new places. I definitely recommend this for school-age kids (and their parents).
Explorer Globe Appropriate For Ages 8 Years and Up Fasten your seatbelts, put your tray table in the upright position and prepare for take off. Next stop? The world. Touch the interactive pen any place on this interactive, talking atlas and learn thousands of amazing facts. Compare population and land area between say Dundee, Scotland and Oaxaca, Mexico. Find out flying times between Lubbock, Texas and Kyoto, Japan. Learn fascinating facts about continents, countries, capitals, music, currency, highest points and so much more. There is also a "Eureka" game mode that prompts players to find geographic points of interest (giving hints along the way) before time runs out. Up to four players can play six multi-level games with this very chatty, very challenging atlas. And it isn't just for kids either. Everyone will have fun testing their knowledge of geography and exploring the world. This rotating globe and talking atlas features a world clock, interactive pen, volume control, headphone jack and automatic shut-off. Frequent flier miles not included. What it Teaches: - Names and locations of countries
- Population between locations
- Distances between locations
- Comparison of land area
- Bodies of water
- Highest point
- Population
- Continents
- Geography
- Time zone
- Capitals
- Currency

customer 's review (Perfect Olympic Toy Souvenir)
(Found On Line (could not find in stores)!!!) Beautiful, colorful, and very well made. Packaging is also well done. Didn't want to open it. Am going to purchase another one and retain unopened as a 2008 Olympic momento. Grand-daughter, who is five years old, LOVES it. Our daughter (in Kindergarten) was made aware of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Teddy Bear Mascots after seeing a friend with one of the mascots from a set in school. Unfortunately, her friend had her set purchased in either Hong Kong or Mainland China by her dad during a business trip there. We purchased them on line after making unsuccessfuly attempts to find them locally. You'll find disparity in my rating between "fun," "educational," "durability," and "overall" categories but these Mascots were purchased to own unique Teddy Bears with historical relevance rather than for their fun factor or educational value (actually, if you dig deeper, you'll find historical and therefore educationals relevance behind these characters). I know that when we find these high quality well made toys tucked away in the future, we'll immediately recognize them as the "Official Beijing 2008 Olympic Teddy Bear Mascots." So I wouldn't be surprised if these are sold in the future as collectors' items for more than their current face value but for us, they'll just be a part of our daughter's Teddy collection...

(Great 1st Puzzle!)
(Great for little hands)
(Wooden Puzzle with knobs) I got this for my son when he was 10 mos. old. He loved it right from the beginning. Now at 11 mos., he can fit all the pieces in and knows where each one goes. It's held up to lots of chewing and is still in great shape. I'll definitely be getting more of these puzzles. I am a big fan of Melissa and Doug puzzles. My daughter is 14 months and this is a perfect toy for her. Puzzles are great toys to encourage problem solving skills and Melissa and Doug craft puzzles that will endure the test of time with toddlers. Two thumbs up! This puzzle is great for little ones. Once they have mastered the puzzle placement, you can then work on puzzles and shapes. Be careful with babies putting the pieces in their mouth, the paint chips. We received this puzzle for our son's first birthday and he loves it. First he could just do the round piece, but now at 18 months he can do the whole puzzle. The large wooden knobs are securely attached and great for chewing. The colors are still bright and not peeling. We have since given this puzzle as a gift for two other one year olds, and have received rave reviews. This puzzle is very well made, sturdy and colorful. My 12 month old granddaughter loves it. The knobs on each piece make it very easy for her to play with the pieces. This toy is one of her favorites. Preschoolers will learn their very first shapes with this bright, bold puzzle. Extra-large knobs make it easy for small hands to remove each brightly colored piece. Pull out the pieces to reveal matching full-color pictures underneath. This super-sized, solid-wood puzzle with extra-chunky 1/2" thick pieces is the perfect first puzzle. Measures 12.5" x 12.5" x 1.7". Rerations < Melissa and Doug First Shapes Jumbo >

Best of all, I think it does a great job of teaching counting! I think I have as much fun playing as my son. Can you tiptoe out without waking Hulk? Hulk needs his sleep, but his friends have some serious crime fighting to do. Choose to be Spidey, Storm, Wolverine or Iron Man and move your pawn carefully across the gameboard. Try to match one of your cards to the space you land on. If you can't make a match, you have to push Hulk's alarm one . . . two . . . three or more times. Will he sleep through it, or wake up? customer 's review (fun sand toys but be warned there aren't castle building pieces)
(Arrived broken)
(water&beach toys) I bought these toys for my neice and nephew before a trip to the beach (they are 4 and 1). They had a good time with the toys and they held up through a week of hard play. But we were disapointed that there weren't pieces to build a castle in the set, so we need up buying a second one to supplement. The shipping box was undamaged, but the bag was ripped, and the items were broken. Nice little beach set; comes in a handy carrying "case" and lots of fun for young kids at the beach. Smaller than I expected, but still fun! Complete Sand&Water Beach Play Set: Includes Toys, Watering Can, Bucket, Shovel and more!

(Ripstik review)
(Ripstik Shipping)
(RipStik) this is like a snowboard. I love it. I have fallen a couple of times and have scars to prove it but that is because i was fooling around. my only complaint is that the wheels wear out pretty fast and a replacement set is 12 bucks, which isn't really that expensive, but it adds up over time. i caution some people that it will take time for you to be able to ride the ripstick, but once you get it, its a feeling like no other My twin daughters are turning 15 and they absolutely love their Ripstiks. They go everywhere with them! Great exercise and lots of fun! Thanks. We purchased the Ripstik, the smaller one, for my 9 yr old son and the larger one for my 12 yr old son. They both love it! It took a little practice (in the kitchen) to get used to it, then they ventured outside. We do require the kids to wear safety gear. Both my boys seem to prefer them over skateboards. Amazon's service was really great as usual! 5 stars for the Ripstik...1 star for the shipping. I ordered a Ripstik for my son's 9th birthday. It was shipped from California to Florida. Thankfully, the Ripstik arrived undamaged. The box it arrived in was another matter. It was crushed and torn almost completely open on both sides of the flimsy box and didn't have any packing materials to cushion the Ripstik at all. The Ripstik was completely exposed...fortunately, all parts and directions were still included and the Ripstik wasn't broken. My son LOVES his Ripstik and has become "professional" riding it everywhere. I bought this for my husband for his 40th birthday. He started snowboarding this past winter and the ripstik is suppose to be similar movements to the snowboarding action. My husband was so thrilled and he said it is alot like the snowboarding and is a fun workout. He enjoys learning new things. This is a well made board and is a big hit with all the kids on our street too! Let it rip like never before! The Razor RipStik Caster Board's inline caster trucks and pivoting deck provide snowboard-like carving ability. The unique torsion bar allows acceleration and turning without pushing. The deck is concave for increased foot control, and features traction plates, kick-tail and kick-nose. The torsion bar also acts as a padded rubber handle for easy transport. RipStik features 76mm polyurethane wheels and high-performance ABEC-5 bearings for a smooth ride. The Razor RipStik comes with a free "How to Ride" DVD. Read and understand the enclosed owner's manual before riding. Safety equipment such as a helmet is recommended. Check local laws and regulations to see where and how you may use your RipStik. No assembly required. Adult supervision recommended. Measures 34"L x 9"W x 4.5"H. Holds up to 220 lbs. Best described as a cross between a skateboard and a snowboard, the green RazorX Ripstik caster board is the perfect ride for kids looking for the next big thrill. The board is distinguished by its pivoting deck and 360-degree inclined caster trucks, which offer a snowboard-like carving ability. A simple weight transfer lets you turn or accelerate without pushing, just like when you're carving down the slopes. In addition, the board offers such features as spiked traction pads, a kick tail and nose, and a concave deck design, which combine to improve your foot control--a must for tricks. And thanks to the 76mm polyurethane wheels and precision ABEC-5 bearing casters, skaters will enjoy a smooth ride on almost any type of pavement. Designed for children 8 years and up, the Ripstik's plastic end platforms and metal torsion beam support up to 220 pounds. The board also comes with a freeHow to RideDVD. Key Features: - Inclined caster trucks
- Concave deck platforms
- Traction plates
- Kick nose
- Kick tail
- Rubber-padded handle
- Torsion bar
- 76-millimeter polyurethane wheels
- High-performance ABEC-5 bearings

(Great for a LEGO/Star Wars fan)
(Great Lego product.) My son received this for his 8th birthday. He loved it! He was old enough to be able to build this from the directions without help and fast build it, he did! I thought that would be it - $[...] and he was done with it in a single afternoon - but no, he gets a good amount of imaginative play with the finished models, so it was a very worthwhile purchase. This is a great buy for children who have taken interest in the Star Wars movies and who love to assemble LEGO's.
