After reading reviews I decided to cut the holes larger instead of getting the adapters. Seems like a much better solution after trying it. The pump is very strong. it came with the whole pump kit including through connectors, valves, and hoses. I also like that it has a power switch on it. It has cleaned my pool out much faster than any previous pumps I have used. Great purchase. My generic pump (530gph) died the other day so i looked for a replacement. I have a 12 ft pool so I didnt need much but I decided this pump seemed the best value for the $. The package came in a original intex box and had all the necessary items for installation. Because i had a smaller pool with the 1 1/4 hose fittings I had two choices: buy an adapter or cut holes. I ordered adapters and couldnt wait so I cut holes. All I have to say is be very,very careful if cutting. On a small slip I cut almost an inch more of pool siding then I wanted. Thankfully the new fitting are real big and slid right in. I saved $ by not using the adapters and now I have a full 1 1/2 path instead of a 1 1/4 converted to 1 1/2. As soon as I turned on the pump it was a huge difference. For the first time I saw a circular movement in the pool. This thing is quiet and powerfull. it keeps the top part of the pool real clean. The bottom still needs help however. I plan on trying to use a vaccum attached to the outlet now that i have a more powerfull pump. Things that really make this pump better: On/off switch on unit (no more unplugging). Sediment valve to let all the big stuff out, quiet, powerfull, plunger valves (no more stuffing up holes to stop water flow to pump) Overall I am very happy I made the upgrade to this pump. I do not know if I just got a bad pump, but my pump does not work nearly as well as some of the other reviews posted. It does pump quietly; however it does not suck well enough to vaccuum the pool. The pump bogs down everytime I try to use the vaccuum. I have the 24X48 above ground Intex pool and I must say I am disappointed. The pump is excellent for circulation. Have a 16' round by 4' deep pool and have struggled to keep it clean with the original pump for two years. This one works so much better! We had to cut out the rubber things on the side of the pool in order to fit the larger hose attachments, but if you are careful...this works well. The adaptor fittings would not have been stable enough for the force this pump puts out, and would have stuck out from the wall of the pool farther. As it is they are pretty flush and seal well. I am very pleased with the value as I have seen this pump sold for up to $150 elsewhere. The company shipped it promptly, and it arrived in great condition. Great product at a great price. My one yr old would repeatedly drop it but it's still in great shape. I love the feel of the product overall...it feels firm not flimsy. This toy automatically turns itself off when not in use and you have two different volume controls. My 4 yr old also tries to take it and play with it :). The music is fun and engaging....my 1 yr old dances to it:) too cute... All in all I love this...I bought for my 1 yr old for her birthday. We also bought this for a friend's first birthday and she loves it. It has at least three settings, one for just abc's, another for the animals, and the third for both, including singing the abc song. We got this as a Christmas present for our daughter (when she was 4 months old). We set it up on her high chair to keep her entertained while we made her food. It took her a week or so to figure out that she has to spin the middle part and now she loves this being a part of her routine. She only plays with it for a couple of minutes while the food is being warmed/prepared so it doesn't reach the annoying level - but I can see how it could. I do have to say that I've never heard an x-ray fish, but I don't think it's sound is bzzzz. Other than that, I think this is a great toy to teach even younger kids dexterity and older kids about the alphabet and different animals (regardless or how silly the sounds may be). My daughter actually gets a kick out of it when I try to imitate the crazy sounds! Our 10 month old loves to spin it to keep sounds or music going :) I appreciate that the volume isn't too loud in the low setting (a real problem in too many toys)... the variety is good: the music, animal sounds and letter settings are all different. Note that the animal sounds are a bit exxagerated... they had to find an animal with "X", so they say "X-Ray Fish" (not even sure that's a real fish!) and of course the sound is made up. A good buy, since "spinning" is a pretty interesting concept to have a baby figure out. I bought this toy for my 15 month old son and he loves it! It's easy to use and very durable considering a little boy is putting it to the test.He loves the music although it can be a little repetitive for the parents, but I can overlook that when I see how much fun he is having. My girlfriend read the other reviews but thought they were over-exaggerated. Her thought was that her son would not have the focus to line up all of the pins and then hit them in a controlled manner; she thought that he wouldn't be able to understand the rules of bowling and that the concept of the game was beyond his knowledge. She was right! But, he loves it anyway. He likes to throw things and the ball is soft enough that he won't hurt anything. He doesn't line up the pins, but he plays with each one as if it was an individual stuffed animal. We've been able to explain to him about different animals and different animal noises with the help of this toy. He will, on occasion, stand up one pin and throw the ball to try to knock it down, with little luck. He seems interested though and it keeps him happy; that's more important than a possible future career as a professional bowler. Great toy. It's cute and fun. My 1 year old likes it as well as my 5 year old! All of the animals either jingle or rattle softly. Just enough to catch baby's attention, but not annoy the parent! I do believe this is a nice toy. Unfortunately, I purchased it without previewing it at a store. I think this toy would be more appropriate for older infants and younger toddlers than what I intended. I also thought it was a bit priced for what it is. My 2 year old enjoys this toy. It only keeps her attention for about 20 minutes but she goes to it time and time again. When I got the puzzle I was very disappointed to find that the puzzle pieces are MDF board (compressed wood dust) not wood or even plywood, and the puzzle board was MDF and plywood. Additionally they were not painted at all but had paper stickers that immediately started tearing off. My kids and I played with the new puzzle right before bedtime and started coughing from all the dust, they were up half the night with this cough. My eyes felt like they had grit in them, my nose itched and I was coughing too. I don't know if this is because the puzzle was still dirty with dust from manufacturing or if the MDF will always shed dust. Either way my kids won't be playing with this again. This was my daughter's first Melissa and Doug chunky puzzle and still one of her favorites. It introduced her to these durable, colorful and easy to manipulate puzzles. She played with it before she was one-year-old and still plays with it as a two-year-old. I recommend all of these puzzles to everyone and frequently get them as gifts. My son loved this and now my daughter does, too. Its neat how the pieces will stand up. Very durable. Great first puzzle. My daughter started playing with it when she was about 18 months old. Even though she couldn't always put the pieces in the correct spot, she still loved to play with them. Now that she is 2 yrs old, and able to complete the puzzle with ease, she likes it even more. I am trying to buy a puzzle rack to accommodate this and a few other Melissa and Doug chunky puzzles. What a great toy. I have two boys, ages 5&3. They love just stomping on the rocket and sending them flying. They love it so much that we got it for a gift for one of their friends. This toy is one of the best, if not the best, toy I've ever bought. It's great fun for all ages. Anyone from small kids to adults can use it. Even the adults get a kick out of using it and the kids love watching how high the (heavier) adults can launch the rockets. There's always lots of ooohs and aaahhhhs. The only drawback is that the kids are always fighting over who gets to stomp next. That's how fun it is. One other drawback is that the kids tend to be real close to it and you have to make sure no one has their head over it (while placing a rocket over the tube) while someone jumps on it. One time a kid got a bruised eye because the big soft bumper on the end of the rocket hit him in the eye when a small, too eager, kid jumped on it too early. Also, sometimes careless kids step on the rocket tubes whilie collecting them and crack them. They don't hold the air well or fit over the tube as nicely once they've been stepped on and cracked. I'd recommend buying some extra rockets because some WILL get damaged by careless kids. Overall it's a really, really fun toy and we always take it to picnics, Scout camps/events, etc. I purchased these stomp rockets for my 3 and 6 year old children. They love the rockets. We take them to the park and have a great time with them. They attract the attention of any other child at the park too. What an inexpensive toy that brings hours of fun. It sounds like R2 D2 from Star Wars, and after the first time you hit the snooze alarm it jumps off the table or nightstand and runs around the room a beepin' and a flashin'. You can see it works pretty well on the carpeting and it moves even faster on our tile floors. It can jump down from up to 3 feet without killing itself which is more than you need for most nightstands. I don't know if you can see from the video, but it's made pretty well and seems sturdy. I bought it for my sister who thinks it's cute during the day but doesn't like chasing it in the morning. I tried to capture her on video, chasing clock in a real live morning situation, but her words were "unkind" and not suitable for an Amazon review. This makes a cute gift for the person who has everything but likes to sleep. I hope this video gives you a better idea of how cute this thing is. (Sorry for all the jiggling around. I really have to get a camera with some kind of stabilization feature). Good: - The basic idea is interesting and amusing. - The alarm sound is more entertaining than the usual. - You can set the snooze interval. - It has a 'game' mode - you can make it attempt to run around the room with its wheels. Bad: - The box says "the clock that runs away!" Good idea. Doesn't happen. I have a soft carpet (it's not shag or anything, just new.) With my carpet, the clock is able to roll off my nightstand but then cannot do more than twitch around in place, where it falls -- the clock wheels sink in a tiny amount and the clock body ends up going around and around, instead of the wheels going around and going somewhere. Net result: the clock is sitting on the floor next to my bed, acting loony, and it's almost as easy to grab and turn off as a regular clock, without my needing to wake up. - In my sleep, I don't carefully differentiate between 'off' and 'snooze'. I'd like 'off' to be harder to achieve than 'snooze'. On this clock, it's no harder to hit the 'off' button than the 'snooze' button. - As another reviewer said, be nice if the alarm were louder. Net: I bought it cheap (elsewhere), and it's amusing even though it doesn't do the job, so I'll keep it and give it two stars instead of one star. PS - The design error is that the clock body should be offset farther beneath the axle. Maybe the design engineers had bare-wood bedroom floors at home? We purchased this clock as a Christmas gift for my daughter who just can't get up in the morning. She hasn't had an alarm clock loud enough to wake her and therefore she would go back to sleep and be late for school most of the time. This alarm clock is VERY loud and VERY annoying and it also rolls itself off the table so you just can't reach over and hit snooze all the time. Just what she needed to get up in the morning, except when she forgets to turn the alarm on. For myself, this clock is too much but perfect for a person who can't get up to a regular alarm clock. Only gave this 4 stars because I feel the price is high for an alarm clock even if it does roll around the room. My daughter slept through every alarm clock I ever found. He's getting into coloring and loves dinosaurs. He really enjoys it, as does his little sister (2) and any friends who have come over to play. It's great quality and they spend a lot of time stamping and then coloring in the stamps with the colored pencils. The only downside is that you have to press down really hard for the pencils to color. We have just replaced the pencils with crayola colored pencils, which are softer, so not a big deal. I bought two of these sets. Both my five year old grandson and my three year old neighbor, who is hospitalized with a bone marrow transplant, loved this set. It was especially good for the youngster hospitalized and quite sick because he could manage it in bed! I ordered this for my 6 year old son who loves art.
