(Quiddler Game)
(Very Fun Game!!!)
(Boggle, Scrabble, and a little bit more.)
(Family Fun) This is a fun game. The rules are similar to Gin -- get each card in your hand into a straight before your opponent does and you win. But instead of suits and numbers each card has a letter or pair of letters, and the goal is to make words. The first hand is 3 cards, the second hand is 4 cards, etc...on up to 13 cards.
I like this game because unlike Scrabble, the person with the amazing vocabulary doesn't always win, because several short words are just as effective in using up your cards as one long word. (In fact, you get a 10 point bonus for either longest word OR most words). So my 8 year olds aren't outgunned by their word-loving elders.
As a nice plus, the art work on the cards themselves is well done.
The only minus is that the deck is double sized (110 cards) and so shuffling is a bear. Would also have been nice if they included a container that held the whole deck (instead it comes with a tray that has slots for 2 half decks.) Lots of fun to play! We are all adult ladies, senior citizens, and we love this game. It is challenging and keeps your mind active. My friend introduced me to this game while on a women's retreat. We had so much fun that as soon as I got home, I went to Amazon to find it. My husband and son enjoy playing it with me. Even our 6 year old daughter plays (with a little help from her mom). I would definitely recommend this game to anyone who likes Scrabble or other word games. It's a good way to build your child's vocabulary. Even better, there are no little pieces to lose--it's just cards! For those who enjoy stretching their verbal abilities a little bit and doing puzzles, Quiddler is a great addition to the games closet. It is a quick learn, easy to play, and more accessible and portable than most other word games. Easy enough for children, clever enough for adults. I was introduced to this game by my daughter and son-in-law. After playing at their home, I had to purchase it for my own use. It is a fun, fast paced word game that helps to build vocabulary and spelling skills. The rules are brutal, but the rewards are worth it in this card game that works a bit like Scrabble. Although there is a solitary version of the game for one player, you can play with up to eight. Cards containing letters of the alphabet and special combinations of letters are dealt in increasing number each time the dealer completes a round. Once you've collected your share, you can discard and pick up a new card with each turn. The object is to turn all the letters in your possession into dictionary-proof words while leaving one stray card as a final discard. You want to be the first to accomplish the goal, of course, but there is a scoring system that makes the play competitive for everyone. One nice element is the cards themselves: the letter design is based on beautiful artwork from Celtic manuscripts. This card game is a 1999 Parents' Choice Silver Award winner.--Tom Keogh The challenge of Quiddler is to arrange your entire hand into words. Draw and discard in turn. Try to use those high point letters, but don't get caught with them uncombined! Quiddler is fast paced because you can play using everyday words. A bonus is given for the most words in each round (so little words can help you win), as well as for the longest word. Quiddler is a delightful challenge for both rookies and word game lovers. Quiddler is for up to eight players. Rerations < Quiddler >

customer 's review (Great fun toy!)
(Son loved it)
(my kids love these.)
(What a neat toy for boys!)
(Son loves it) My 8 year old son and 10 year old daughter are hooked on these toys! We got some on vacation and they played with them constantly! My daughter has not been on Webkinz in a week! Neat collectable toys and they enjoy making up their own games and races with them. Too hard for them to play the gamecard/games designed for the toy though. Toy durable in spite of being thrown on hard surfaces from time to time. Very hard to find in stores in Chicago area though! I bought this for my son because he wouldn't stop talking about it. I first checked every Walmart and Toys 'R Us in toy and couldn't find a starter or battle pack. They are cute little toys and the game is decently fun for an adult, but the kids are crazy over it. They won't stop playing. My son (almost 6) hasn't touched a video game, watched tv, or played with any other toys since he got it. He just spends all his free time with his Bakugan (haven't decided if this is good or bad). Kind of expensive but really good positive reinforcement tools. they will do just about anything for these things. What a neat toy! My son loved it. The game is based on the tv show and the kids love to play and trade toys&cards. THe only problem is that you can not buy a specific item for collection purposes and must accept what is packaged. This item is sold out in every store we looked at. Amazon had the best on line price. Son loves the bagukan and the sets are far more interesting. The toy is too small and fragile for a small child, but very acceptable for the 10+ yrs old.
Bakugan battle brawlers are here! Answer the call to brawl and decide the fate of the galaxy! These small spheres magnetically morph into powerful Bakugan warriors when they roll onto the real metal Gate Cards! Use strategy to place your metal Gate Cards effectively as each card affects the battle differently. Then master your precision shooting skills to roll your Bakugan into battle and win! (My leapster didn't last a year)
(Great for Traveling)
(A little too young)
(Great for young children) The Leapster is a great way to keep my 5 year old looking and listening to the stories to be able to get into the games. It helps him listen for story details an understand the way a story is put together. A great "toy" The leapster I bought my son did not last through the year. It broke after about 7 months. I have tried repeatedly to contact customer service just to see if I can get it fixed. I know it's not still under warranty and I have no idea where the receipt is at this point. I have spent at least half an hour on the phone several days in a row trying to get through at Leapster. Disappointing at best. We bought each of our children a Leapster for our 33-hour car ride. They entertained them most of the way and the children were learning as well. It was great because the Leapsters can even be played at night. Buy some headphones and you cut down on the noise. Each Leapster used 4-AA batteries which lasted at least 20 hours of continuous play. I bought this for my three year old grandson. He loves playing with it; however, I believe some of the games are a little to advanced for him. Especially the ones that you need to use two hands. He just doesn't have the coordination to control both sides of the Leapster.
I think I am going to hold on to it and give it back to him in six months. The games are great and the Leapster is fun, but maybe for a four year old or older. Both of my children love the leapster. We just bought a second one for our 8 year old. The only problem is with the battery cover. There is a spring covered screw that broke almost immedately. The toy still functions fine despite the battery cover problem and it keeps the kids entertained for hours. It is great on long road trips. Here is one handheld gaming system that both parents and kids will be able to agree upon. The Leapster Learning Game System takes the brain-building principles that Leapfrog laid out in its earlier electronic learning devices (which have an interactive book format) and applies them to a video-game format. Leapster draws kids in with familiar video game templatesall of which have a secret weapon: a built-in learning component. LeapFrog hopes that kids will become so engaged in the gaming aspects and familiar television and movie characters offered by this toy that they won't even notice that they're learning and reinforcing valuable reading, math, and language skills.Aimed at 4- to 10-year-olds, the 6-by-4-inch Leapster is sized for little hands and comfortably shaped with safe, rounded edges. The 2-1/4-inch touch screen is ample for most of the gaming activities; although a little cluttered when used for the art and drawing modules. Buttons are suitably placed on either side of the unit for thumb-operated control. The right side features "A" and "B" buttons for selecting settings and answers while the left has a multi-directional gamepad for game play. A pen is also attached for drawing, selecting tools and settings, and dragging and placing objects. The 3-inch backlit display makes games visible in the dark (although parents will prefer that the Leapster is shut off at bedtime) and the animated graphics, while not completely state-of-the-art are well done and suitable for this age range. The Leapster Learning Game System takes the brain-building principles that Leapfrog laid out in its earlier electronic learning devices (which have an interactive book format) and applies them to a video-game format.

As with the manufacturer's LeapPad products, the Leapster does require the purchase of additional cartridges to expand its capabilities. Kids can choose titles with their favorite characters to play educational games with. The star-studded list of celebrity narrators includes TV personalities, such as SpongeBob Squarepants, Thomas the Tank Engine, and Dora the Explorer; and movie stars, such as Nemo, Cinderella, Ariel (The Little Mermaid), and Batman. Leapfrog's own cartoon star, Tad, is narrates a few as well. While stocking up on the extra software titles can get expensive, it also gives parents some control and input on which characters they'd like their kids to learn from. And, characters for these titles are appropriately matched to the maturity of the targeted grade level (pre-K through 4th grade). Starting up or hitting the Home button takes players to the main menu. There is one staple pre-loaded game that children will likely come back to again and again.Rabbit Riveris based on theFroggergame format, but with an additional learning element. In letters mode, kids guide their bunny to hop floating logs to the other side of the river while jumping on specific letters to identify them or spell out a requested 3- or 4-letter word. In numbers mode, the bunny must land on specific numbers on the logs to skip count by twos or form a correct equation. The other pre-loaded activity isColor Corral, an interactive coloring book designed to boost creative problem-solving skills. This module is like a kid's version of Photoshop and offers a variety of scenic templates, colors, tools, and moving icons that kids can combine for an infinite number of possibilities. The included manual gives suggestions on how to reinforce these math, reading, and art concepts in the real world. . |
Each game offers multiple skill levels so kids can ease into new territory at the beginner level and challenge themselves with more advanced learning problems as they understand the concept. If kids are stumped at any point during a game, they can hit the Hint button and receive a friendly push in the right direction from an animated tutor, Edison the firefly. Edison also appears automatically if kids answer a question incorrectly several times in a row and coaches the child to reach the correct answer. The Pause button lets kids stop the game for a snack break and pick back up again where they left off. Designed for portability, the Leapster fits easily in a backpack or tote bag and is ideal for more purposeful edutainment on the go, whether it's a quick game on the bus ride to school or hours of playtime during vacation travel. This learning system runs on four AA batteries or on a rechargeable battery pack when combined with the Leapster L-Max Recharging System (sold separately). Leapster covers this handheld device under a 3-month warranty.--Cristina Vaamonde Now parents and kids can both feel good about time spent playing electronic games with the Leapster Learning System by LeapFrog. An exciting library of educational games (sold separately) turn this handheld device into a conduit of exciting learning adventures that teaches reading, math, critical thinking, vocabulary and more. Kids can play fun games, read electronic books, create cool art and watch interactive videos. Color display on backlit screen is gentle on the eyes while the jack for optional headphones is gentle on other people's ears. Ages 4 to 10 years. Imported. (Almost Perfect!!!)
(Love it!)
(easy to use)
(Great Seat but doesn't fit on every bike) I like this product. It might look a bit strange but it means your child can see where you are going, you can communicate and interact with your child safely without having to look behind. It was easy to fit but be warned you need at least 3/4" on the stem to fit it. This may be a problem on threadless headsets. Also if you have trigger gear shifts they may be tight to the edge of the child seat. I like it, my son likes it and if it fits your bike it's got to be better than a rear child seat. I LOVE this product if only I had purchased it one year ago or even six months. The center of gravity of this seat is amazing!! I have a three and a half year old who weighs 33 pounds and is 40 inches tall. I bought this seat not sure if she was going to be too tall for it which unfortunately she is about an inch too tall we tried it out anyways we went on the trail around our house she absolutely loved it but her legs were crunched:( So we were kinda bummed but think that anyone with a smaller chld that loves to ride couldn't go wrong with this seat (unless your just riding uphill constantly) its fine for small hills and did great on the interurban trail. My child didn't want to stop riding we talked the whole ride which was nice she wasn't scared at all. I wish they made it just two inches longer in the legs. I got this for my 1 yr old son and we both love it! The seat was easy to install and easy to ride with. Great product. This item is easy to install and the seat is quickly removable. We prefer having our toddler in front and the seat does not get in my way or make my bike hard to drive. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is the strap needs to be finessed to get it to stay over our toddlers shoulders. You will want them to wear a shirt that covers all of their shoulders and comes up to the bottom of the neck to avoid any chance of causing redness due to friction of the strap. This is a great seat and a great concept!! Unfortunately, it doesn't fit my husband's bike very well (Raleigh Mountain Bike) as it won't allow him to shift gears when it's on. No amount of adjusting has solved the problem. However, it fits my women's Raleigh Hybrid bike great! I love being able to talk to my daughter while we're riding and her movements don't throw off my balance. My knees don't hit the seat and it's very easy to steer the bike with her on it. She LOVES riding in it!!!! Overall, great seat! Just wish it fit my husband's bike, too! Definitely recommend it to see if it fits your bike! The iBert safe-T-seat was designed with quality and safety first. The safe-T-seat places the child up front, safely between the parent's protective arms. This evenly distributes weight over the bike giving a stable, safe ride. Kids enjoy the close interaction and the unobstructed view of the fun ahead. Mounted conveniently on the handlebar stem; the high, forward position allows you to pedal in comfort without banging your knees on the seat. Created by parents who were disappointed with the family bicycling options available, the iBert Safe-T Front Mounted Child Bicycle seat was made to offer families the best biking experience possible in safety and comfort. This front mounted seat offers both parent and child excellent range of vision, with the opportunity to interact as they bike together. Noted for its ease of use, the seat takes just a few minutes to install and remove, and it is equally easy and safe to load and unload the child from the seat. Providing plenty of clearance for the knees so that the adult can bike with ease, the seat is positioned so that it is easy to maintain the center of gravity. This adaptable seat fits any adult bike with a minimum of 3/4 inches of clearance on the handlebar stem. The iBert Safe-T seat was developed after its creators became frustrated with the available bike seat options for children. They found that bike trailers kept their kids uncomfortably far away from them, got too hot in the sun, and only provided a limited view out to the children. The rear-mounted seats presented similar problems. The kids had a limited view and it was difficult to interact with them. Additionally, the balance of the bike was off and it was not easy to load and unload the kids. Other front mounted seats were complicated to hook onto the bike and difficult to remove. These seats also did not allow knee clearance for biking, and as a result were not comfortable. The iBert Safe-T seat offers a variety of safety and comfort advantages compared to other child bike seat options. The iBert Safe-T seat allows you to maintain control of the bike when loading and unloading your child. To load and unload the child, you simply straddle the bike and lift the child into or out of the seat. When using the iBert seat you can always see what your child is doing and you can make sure that your child is safe and comfortable at all times. The center of gravity in the iBert seat is closer to the center of the bike making it easier to control the bike as you ride. The seat sits higher on the bike and is smooth on the bottom so that even tall riders rarely brush the bottom of the seat with their knees and if they do they just glide along the smooth edges on the bottom. The iBert Safe-T seat is easy to install. The patented stinger assembly attaches to any bike with a minimum of 3/4 inches on the handle bar stem. The stinger system attaches to the bike in just two minutes and the seat can then be attached and detached from the stinger in 15 seconds. If you buy additional stinger assemblies the seat can be attached to multiple bikes. The iBert Safe-T seat is made in the U.S.A. with safety and quality as the main objectives. While the iBert Safe-T seat is designed to meet all 1625-00 standards, at this time ASTM 1625-00 is written for rear child carriers not front mounted seats. Specifications: - Allows interaction with your child

(be aware you might receive something different!)
(Poor storage) I just needed something to hold my keys. It has a lot more room than I anticipated and doesnt take up that much space. I can put my wallet, keys, cell and sunglasses in it easily and it doesnt interfere with my ride. Good. First off, it will not take 3 weeks to ship I got mine in less than 21 hours after ordering. It's actually quite spacious and I fee secure putting valuables within it since it is so well velcro(d) to the bottom of my seat. more than enough room for a spare tube, tire levers, mini tool, patch kit, lip balm.... etc. bought this product for my boyfriend who bikes to work everyday. This compact stow away pouch fits his house keys, work badge, glasses with its bulky case, wallet, and cell phone. It fits securely on the bike, but he likes to strap it on the front of the bike just in case the velcro straps were not strapped on properly. I ordered two of these bags two days ago. I received a bell stowaway bike bag, but the two I received are a different model than this. I received very small bags which zip quite differently than this bag. They are also shaped differently. That said, they are average bags-- probably a good bargain, but receiving the bags I asked for would have been a much better bargain. Update: I noticed the price here is now 22 dollars! I paid 7 dollars per bag which is completely reasonable. For 22 dollars, find a better bag.
Poor storage and not flexible in terms of mounting. If you already have other things mounted on the rod, it will be really hard to mount it and attach it to the chair. The Bell® StowAway seat bag is designed to easily mount to most seat style and seat posts. The expandable design can hold flat repair tools, keys, a phone, and other essentials as you ride. (we love lego star wars)
(The Rebel Scout Speeder) This is my first Star Wars set. I love it. I love the minifigs. You get not only one or two lousy ones but 4 cool ones. This could be a very good gift for someone who loves Legos. This set is awesome for those of us who dreamed of having the rebel Alliance and the Empire have battles on your desk or wherever you want to play with them. I'm glad lego released an affordable set with rebel troopers in it. 1st of all, the minifigures are from episode four, but you make the ship up. How cool is that? The turret, witch is pretty cool, comes off. You can have a hidden turret if another peice is tall enough! The blaster pistols are cool. They are like the other set that comes with it(not literally, just goes with it). Wow! Make a hidden part from ep.four! Cool! We love lego star wars. My 5 year old boy has been going through project after project. He has a blast, loves doing them, and then flying them around. They are totally fun to build (he is following directions and knocking off the small ones almost by himself now), but they do not hold up as toys. They fall apart with play. You can glue them together if you want to keep them together, but ours fall apart and the pieces go into a box to be rebuilt into a freeform spaceship.
Legos are great, any Lego Star Wars is fantastic. These little ones are good starter pieces or very manageable to finish and enjoy the satisfaction of completion! They're all good. Enjoy! I got this toy about a week ago and I expected a lot worse, but it is GREAT!!! The rebels are cool, but their arms come off easily. The ship is easy to build, and is fun to play with. In order to have a battle though you need the Imperial Drop ship. It can fit four guys (three in the cockpit and one in the turret)and, comes with four guns (two pistols and, two rifles and guys to shoot them). the speeder is a little flimsy though and can come apart easily. It is cool!!! When the Empire is on the march, the Rebels fight back. The Rebel Scout Speeder is ready for action with a detachable rotating heavy blaster cannon and a crew of four Rebel troopers straight from the Star Wars movies.
