I found this game while looking for a birthday present for my daughter. I had never heard of it before, but thought it sounded fun. I was right. My daughter (8) loves to play it and so do we! My husband and I even play it together. Fun game, easy to play but, still challenging. The games pieces are very sturdy. I highly recommend this game to anyone.
Qwirkle is a big winner both as a family game and an educational game. If you love kids and/or games it belongs on your must-have list (along with Set, Zigity, Family Fluxx, Blokus, Magnetic Quarto, and Labyrinth: the card game).

PROS:
Fun for all ages and any number of players.
Inclusive, meaning adults and very young kids can have fun playing together (not exactly the same thing as the previous comment!)
Develops different kinds of thinking--logic, strategy, patterns (or left/right brain if you prefer).
An elementary toy which encourages experimentation with new rules and games, as well as tasks like sorting and patterning.
Portable, comes with drawstring bag.
Seems durable--no chipping or peeling paint, despite next comment.

CONS:
Poor build quality. Not all pieces are square or the same size. Many paint defects, some pieces were stuck together.
Poor design and implementation of a great idea. For example there is a four-pointed star and an eight-pointed star. The four-lobed shape is variously called flower, clover, and shamrock. These and other ambiguities could have easily been avoided with a little more thought. Also, red/orange and blue/green are hard to distinguish except in bright light.
Requires a fairly large flat surface to play and tiles are easily bumped (it's a portable game but definitely not a travel game).

Each tile has one of six shapes drawn in one of six colors, resulting in a 36-tile grid. The game contains three of these sets for a total of 108 tiles. You must place tiles so that each row and column contains only one color or shape. You get bonus points for completing a set of six (a Qwirkle), at which point that line is closed. The lines can have gaps, which makes it much more interesting.

Apparently even the designers are having too much fun making up rules!

We like to play shorter versions of the game using one or two sets of tiles. (We store a single set in a Ziplock bag within the drawstring bag). Also, our son (6) likes to keep score only by counting Qwirkles, rather than having a point for each tile.

Here then are the rules for "Speed Qwirkle", which is what we usually play:

Use only one set of tiles.
Two or more players.
Each player draws only 4 tiles.
Tiles can only be placed within a 6x6 square, so you'll know fairly soon where each one must go.
Tiles must touch on an edge--you can't put one in its place off by itself.
You have to play something if you can, but you can play fewer than you might.
Score one point for each line you complete (there are only 12).
You never know how it's going to turn out until the very end!

We also play "Quicker Qwirkle", with two sets of tiles and five per person. Another rule we use a lot is that you get a double bonus for making a purple Qwirkle, because it's so much fun to say.

Love this - great for families with kids that are a bit older. Fun fun fun. Good quality game pieces.

In certain light, if you have your pieces stading up facing you, it can be hard to tell red from orange.

This is a really fun game for kids and adults. There are ways to simplify it for younger kids, too. Helps kids learn colors, patterns and strategy.
This is a great game that can be played on many levels.

My two-year old uses it for matching colors (and shapes - but the shapes are a little unorthodox).

My six year old has the mechanics down and is trying figure out how to make high-point plays.

I can match wits with my mathematician brother-in-law and strategy-crazed father-in-law.

I look forward to playing this game for a long long time.

All I have to say I was disappointed with both movies...given that...the action figures are top. I got this for myself ( I know my husband will swipe it from me b/c he's a fan boy like myself:)

This toy was purchased for my 5 1/2 year old grandson. The toy is stated to be made for children 5+ years. Although it looks very nice, it is nearly impossible to "transform" the toy which is the purpose of a transformer. My grandson could not transform the toy nor could I. This made it less than practical especially since we could not even return it to the previous figure. Very dissapointing!!
Well, first off let me say, WOW, this figure is awesome! I don't own the previous OP but can definitely tell this one is way better and movie accurate. If you're a fan and collector, you need this one. When transforming he does tend to say "I'm am Optimus Prime" alot but I learned how not to mess with the head. The knives on the arms like to come out but aren't too bothersome. This is a must get!
I just bought this today. At first I wasn't going to because I have the Optimus Prime from the first movie, but the level of detail in this figure sold me. This one is very movie accurate in robot and vehicle mode both. The attention to detail on this figure is is extremely intracate. They did take away the ablitity to move the fingers though.

I gave Durability a 4 because some of the parts come off during transformation, but they due snap bacl on very easily.

Here is the reason I gave Fun a 4: Do not get this toy for a very young child though. I gaurantee that the child would have no fun with this toy. The direction are absolutely horrendous. This was one thing that Hasbro did not improve on. It took me a few hours to figure out how to transform Optimus from robot to vehicle mode.

Overall though, a great figure for those like me who are collecting figures from the movie. I would also recommend the other figure as well. I have also bought most of those from ROTF.
This is one of the most detailed, movie accurate, and greatest transformers toy ever made! The transformation can be a pain the first time, an I nearly spent two hours watching the video and transformation on youtube! but it was worth it. Sometimes pieces will pop off and putting them back on can be a pain, but overall, this thing is amazing.

Unable to comment and review the item accurately as this was bought as a gift for a newborn in the States and was delivered to her directly. I have not seen the item although the parents say the baby loves it.
We bought the Sleep Sheep, Twilight Turtle,&Lavender Lab for our daughter who is now 3 months old. All of the products are all well-made&worthy purchases. We've been using the Twilight Turtle since day 1&it's been a LIFESAVER on many occassions. All we need to do is turn off the lights&put this on&she immediately quiets down when she's overtired&over-stimulated. Usually she quiets down within 5 minutes&loves looking at the moon&stars.

I just started putting the sheep next to her in her pack&play at night. I'd coslept with her since she came home from the hospital, but now that I'm back to work, I'm trying to get her to sleep on her own. As anyone who's coslept knows, it's NOT an easy habit to break. The Sleep Sheep has really helped soothe my daughter. I just put it on the heartbeat sound&put it nearby. Maybe she feels like she's still sleeping close to me. I love that it stays on for a considerable time&automatically shuts off without me having to worry about getting up to turn it off myself. We go through dozens of batteries in our house so anything with an automatic shut-off is a huge help, especially at nighttime! It also has a volume control which is another nice feature. I had it on last night¬ only did it lull my daughter to sleep, but I found it made me sleepy too!

I definitely recommend buying any of these products with confidence. Can't say too much about the Lavendar Lab as she's still a little too young to appreciate stuffed animals just yet, but I'd happily give any of these items as gifts of recommend them to others.
We're still awaiting the delivery of the Sleep Sheep, so we're unable to give a review. We love the Twilight Turtle we ordered at the same time. "We" are two underpaid and overworked gay grandads who shop early and thoughtfully for birthday presents and Christmas presents for our soon to be seven grandchildren. Hopefully, the Sleep Sheep will arrive in time to be a Christmas present for our youngest grandaughter, due in July. We're rating it tentatively at 5 stars, the equal of the Twilight Turtle, as being a perfect toy for a perfect age. The Twilight Turtle is destined for our then-to-be-almost-two youngest grandson. When we do receive it, I will gladly update this review.

We were looking for more wooden cookies for my son's cookie jar in his play kitchen. This are a very safe size (unlike the mini Haba sets)and are loads of fun. The only thing that I can guarantee will break in no time is the cookie tube meant for storage. It's made of cardboard and my toddler pulled off the wrong end and pretty much decimated it within a week.
My 2 year old loves this cookie set. He plays with it more than all of the other Melissa and Doug food sets that he has.

The cookie's frosting Velcros onto the cookie and the cookies Velcro onto the tray. The set comes with a dozen cookies with frosting, a spatula to remove the cookies from the baking sheet with, a baking sheet, and a tube to put all your "unbaked" cookies into.

My son loves taking the cookies out of the tube, placing them on the tray, and baking them. Then he loves to use the spatula to get the cookies off of the tray and runs around the house giving everyone cookies.

We hear "Mama, I'm baking cookies!" come out of the playroom all of the time. This is a great little set and has given hours of entertainment to our little boy.

His second favorite Melissa and Doug food set would have to be the Melissa&Doug Wooden Sushi. The sushi set was his favorite until he got this cookie set for his birthday.

The only trouble we have with this set is that our dog loves to chew on wood; so we have to make sure to put everything away before we leave the house otherwise it ends up chewed. Hmmm...maybe these cookies are yummy even though they are wood.
I am a mother of three (children ages 6yrs,5yrs and 17 months)wanting durable toys, that can hold up to rough play and teething. Overall, I was very pleased. However, the cookie tube is made of cardboard and the inside lining was unraveling when it arrived. I just reattached the paper that was pealing with some hotglue and the kids were ready to play. I am not convinced that the cardboard tube will hold up over time with removing and replacing the endcap (for storing the cookie dough). I wish the cookie tube was made of plastic, but my children are really enjoying slicing and making cookies, so I would still recommend the product to others.
This product was recommended to me by a friend, and my girls love to play with it. They are always baking cookies! Because the cookies stick to the pan with velcro, it is easy for the girls to carry around. I am really happy I bought this toy.
We love this toy, as we love all the Melissa and Doug toys that we have so far. My only suggestion is that the pan could be smaller to fit inside more play kitchen ovens. We have a fairly large play kitchen- the Little Tikes wooden kitchen, but the cookie sheet still won't fit in the oven. I think I might have my husband use his power tools ;-) to cut the cookie sheet in half, then sand and paint it again, and maybe add a lip to each of the cut sides. Then there will be two sheets and both kids can make their own batch. My daughter really works hard trying to find a way for the cookie sheet to fit into her oven and is so disappointed that it won't go. Then of course, she wants to put it into our real oven so we can't let her play with this toy unsupervised.

We got this for our son's 3rd birthday and it's been a big hit! All 3 of our kids (ages 4 1/2, 3&1 1/2) are able to use it since it adjusts in height. I think this will be used for many years to come! It is not extremely stable and sturdy even when weighed down with water, but it hasn't fallen over or anything and I think it will hold up well even with kids being a little rough with it. Overall, we really like it!
Once the product arrived, obviously, I was excited to set it up. I didn't realize it required sand to fill the bottom. It's very unsteady without it. My daughter (who is 26 months) doesn't pay much attention to it. When she does play with it, it's usually with any ball she can find (which is ok by me.) It was a good buy, since she'll play with it for some time to come. I wish I would have known about the sand ahead of time, though, so I could have bought some before it arrived. Pretty good product, overall.
We were pleasantly surprised that our gift to my 18 month old nephew was a hit at Christmas. He LOVED his basketball hoop and ball. He couldn't even wait for us to get the net on the hoop, he started slam dunking the ball immediately, and was so happy playing with it!! The entire family was entertained by his antics for at least 15 minutes, which for a toddler is a lot of time to dedicate to one activity. Awesome, awesome gift.
my 3-year-old son loves this. But the board quickly bent forward, I saw one in a daycare the board bent forward over 50 degree, which makes me worry about how long we can play with this set.

same product from Fisher price looks a lot better.
My son loves this toy! He got it for Christmas so he was almost a yr and a half old. It's the only toy he has that he plays with every single day. I am planning on taking it outside this summer for him. Love it!

I purchased these guns for my son and he has had a blast with them!! They are very durable, only problem was when one was dropped on a hard surface but a restart put it right back in the game. The targets on the gun itself make them portable. 6 batteries each is quite a bit but they have not run out yet. The red light when you get hit makes it visible when you hit an opponent and the shotgun attachment is fun in close quarters. These are amazing products, wishing they were a bit cheaper but they really do deliver! Overall, I give them 5 out of 5 stars and it keeps the video games turned off!
This is a great toy, I have had it for 6 months now with no problems. My child is 11 and loves it.
After reading the reviews, decided to pick up 2 of the laser guns for the kids for their birthday (7, 9 ... girl, boy). Since opening, they've been playing it all weekend. I've even gotten caught up in it. Very well made, solid, really cool sound effects and feedback (strength meter, ammo meter, different force feedback when firing shotgun and rifle modes). I'm back online today to pick up 4 more guns. Forget the kids ... our next get-together, the kids are watching a movie and the adults are playing 6-person laser tag in the dark. If you're on the fence as to whether or not this is the one to purchase, I can assure you that you will not be disappointed.
LOVE THESE!!!! We got these guns for our boys (4&6) but my husband also loves to play. The target is the other gun so it's nice to not have to worry about using a vest. We got a laser tag game with a vest before and it didn't work very well. All in all, great quality! These have been hours of fun! The video game is a bit mature for our boys. We don't let them play it so I can't give a review on that.
The laser tag is loads of fun. It really is like two games in one with the t.v. video game for practice and the real time game with other laser tag guns. We had a blast using these and can't wait until we can do it again. Like the sound effects and the visual lights to let you know when your are low on ammo or life. Like the option for team 1 or team 2 or solo players so that you can't shoot your own team mates. Wish there was a local tag team group in our area so we could play laser tag with more people.

Just finished assembling this wagon...one month after I received it. Yes, I am the dad who can't read directions and while I didn't put the Left wheel on the Right side, I did put it on top of the wagon because I was being so careful not to get Left and Right confused. my bad. So please be careful when assembling. I was not happy with the connector of the wagon to the handle, it took me 25 minutes to get the rod through...it shouldn't have been that difficult...their bad. Anyway I think the kids are going to love this, and amazon does have good prices on it. But in retrospect I would've paid more to buy it already assembled elsewhere.
My grandson absolutely loves this Radio Flyer wagon. My brother and I had one growing up and I remember how much fun we had with it. I knew I wanted to get my grandson a wagon and was pleasantly surprised that Radio Flyer had a version with an updated look. You can still get the old version, but I really like the look of this one on line so I bought it for his 2 year birthday. I keep it at my house and as soon as he comes in the door he runs right to it and starts playing with it. He pushes it around and because the front wheels rotate 360 degrees it is very easy for him to manuever - even though it's big for him to be pushing! It's very stable and safe when he climbs in and out of it and he gets a big kick out of folding the seats up and down. He likes to sit in it both ways. Then comes the pulling with him in it - he doesn't stop smiling! I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a sturdy, safe, durable wagon for their children or grandchildren. It's reasonably priced as well!
From the seat belts to the cup holders, this wagon is a must. Its comfortable and safe for my son, who absolutley loves it. Its a wonderful wagon and I take him for rides in it every day. I look forward to wheeling him around some fairs in this thing. Wish I had one as a kid.
This wagon is perfect for the Spring and Summer walks through our neighborhood, to parks and even to zoos. My 13th month old enjoys being wheeled around it. We load her in and go for a scenic tour in the neighborhood. We also take it with us when we go to the park for picnics. The back rest is great b/c it gives my duaghter something she can lean her back and head against. Also, the wagon comes with cup holders which we use every time we take her out. It's roomy and even allows us to store some things in there, like blankets etc. The only negative thing about the wagon is putting it together. There are a lot of screws and some screws are difficult to get through. But overall, it was worth the buy. I Like the fact that we can use the wagon until my daughter is 4 or 5.
We ordered this wagon for our granddaughters 1st b-day and had it delivered to there house,to our surprise all the wheels,axel and seat belts were missing. Very disappointed as this was 2 days before her b-day and now no present,will be very skeptical in ordering from Amazon again.

OK. We bought these for the Fourth of July! Normally I get all the kids Glow Sticks after Halloween&after the fourth (whenever walmart has them on sale lol) Well this year I splurged&got these...

I just wanted to warn everyone.. If you get them&can not find your connectors.. Check the other end of the tube LOL. I started getting all upset because we thought the connectors were not included or were left out... Right when I went to complain to Amazon, My husband found them lol.

So a word to the wise, check both ends LOL.

These are great fun though&the kids all love them!

when i saw Transformers:revenge of the fallen..i was floored to see sideswipe in action. in the opening how he messed up the Decepticon sideways... and his line after that was classic! bad @ss !

sideswipe was one of my favorite Generation one autobots, and im glad hes in the new movie.

now we have hasbro/takaras take on the movie version, and let me tell ya its fantastic. hes a chevy corvette stingray concept in his alt mode, which has great detail. i would say of this movie's line this is easilly the "new Jazz" , as others have pointed out, and i also agree.

first off, he has an actual paint job not just a molded color which really makes sideswipe stand out. the silver paint looks great, but you need to be a bit careful when transforming him, because some of the paint may chip.to correct this i bought a silver shade auto paint touch up marker just in case ...no worries anymore.

the robot mode is really sweet. sideswipe looks exactly like his screen counterpart... well detailed and a great head sculpt. again we have the painted on autobot symbol..which is welcomed (and more realistic) his arms have his battle blades that can swivel around his hands are accurate too.

His legs have limited poseabliity, but if you get him into a pose as seen in some of these photos he will stand with no problems. i also like how he has the pistons on the back of the legs. its attention to detail like this that makes the movie lines a joy to collect.

The transformation isnt difficult, just keep the instructions handy just in case because hes a bit fragile. i get upset when people are saying i have problems changing him etc or hes to frail. well, if you want a realistic looking robot, your going to have to put up with the "more involved" transformation...from an engineering point of view..im impressed. ive been a fan since 1984 and i cant wait to the next wave of transformers already.

these are made for the collector, and rightfully so..i would NOT recommend giving this to 5 yr old johnny, because some of those kids are careless. But, if your a transformer fan, that appreciates great attention to detail and an awesome looking robot...this is one you need to add to your collection.

on a side note Sideswipe is getting harder to find from what ive seen ...i went to 3 targets and 2 walmarts looking for this guy toys r us too ..but,with no luck i finally found one at walgreens of all places!..i just ordered another one to keep MINT in the package. its the rule of the collector:)

Sideswipe is one of the hip new autobots who will appear in the Revenge of the Fallen movie. According to the packaging he likes close combat and is a sword expert.

For kids:
This guy is a sweet ride. He's a silver Corvette concept with blue windows and is probably one of the sportiest cars in the line. He transforms fairly easily but has tons of little bits and parts that move and come apart and go together. Because of this he doesn't seem quite as durable to me as some of the others. His swords are one of the coolest "mech-alive" features I've seen yet though and he's got a pretty cool looking robot form. I think he might frustrate younger kids but most kids will like both the car and robot forms.

For adults:
This guy is still a sweet ride. I even want to drive him around and make engine noises. He is painted silver instead of just molded in a certain color and this makes him pop visually. The downside is that over time I see this paint job chipping around the edges and rubbing off on corners. Another down side is because his is an involved transformation and he's such a bright color there are many visible seam lines.

His transformation isn't difficult but it is intricate with many pieces of the body of the car that move and swivel and break apart. He feels a bit delicate but so far has proven durable. Still, if someone went a little nuts on him he might break easy.

Once in robot mode he looks pretty cool with a sleek head, his shoulders that are the rear fenders of the car and a couple of neat points of articulation action. He has pistons and sliding knee covers in his legs that move as you bend it at the knee and he has four hydraulic rods connecting his leg to his body that slide up and down as you move his legs. The rods are a soft material so they won't snap. That's all pretty neat. He does have a bit too much of the car stuck onto his back though to look fully streamlined. But the biggest complaint is his feet. They look fine but the wheels are at bottom (as in his feet don't sit flat on the ground) which makes standing him up a bit of a chore as you have to wiggle him and his feet around to find balance.

His swords are two thin strips of the doors attached to each elbow. The cool part is if you grab one of the two and pull it around in an arc toward the front of his arm the other one swings in the opposite direction automatically via a cool little gear set up. They meet right in front to form the sword on each arm. It's a cool mechanism and works well. Plus you can take the two parts of the sword part way to make double swords or scissor like weapons or half way to make a shield like weapon. It's versatile and can be used to change up the look.

This is a tough one, I'll rate him four but three and a half would be fair too due to his inability to stand well, many seam lines, his chipping paint job and his delicate nature. Then again he looks cool and has those swords...
Sideswipe from Transformers ROTF is a new character from the movie.

PROs:
- Painted body in vehicle mode: The whole car's plastic body panels are PAINTED silver. This is a first for Hasbro in a regular Deluxe toy! (the old regular Jazz received this treatment with the Premium Deluxe toy line, which came very late. Such a Premium line won't probably happen again).
- Clear plastic headlights and tail lights: These look very cool, and in the older Jazz, these were only painted.
- Complex transformation and tons of articulation: The robot mode has a lot of articulation and piston-like bits that work, which is way cooler than Jazz, Bumblebee and other toys from the first movie.
- Robot mode proportions are more slender than the bulkier old toys. Sideswipe's weapons are his arm mounted blades, which are quite cool to rotate into position. The hands and other molded details look fantastic.

CONs:
- Big clear plastic parts: clear plastic is always more brittle than regular plastic, so it may break easier. I've damaged 2 pieces already.
- Complex transformation (level 4 out of 5 if I recall correctly): The instructions are not clear and won't let all the pieces fall into place, like the back windshield + trunk portion: you can see it jutting up in the product picture. When transforming to car mode you need to move face its head down so that it's looking inside his chest. This way the back windshield hinge fits behind its "ears" and the back windshield and tail will fall in place.
- Lots of panels in vehicle mode = lots of visible seams.
- Robot mode looks great and somewhat accurate to concept art... except that it lacks any paint. I mean, even ol' regular Deluxe Jazz (not the Premium Deluxe Jazz) has more paint applications in robot mode than this guy! Sadly, this seems to be the trend with the ROTF Deluxe line of toys: great paint in vehicle mode, but NO paint in robot mode. Good thing is, with the molded detail in these toys, a little touch up will do wonders.

This toy then is geared towards children older than 7, because of its complexity and small parts that can detach. It will appeal also to older collectors, like me, who will need to fill the void left by one of the greatest transformers toy line of all: Takara-Tomy Binaltech.
The majority of all transformers have similar characteristics. Whether it be the overall design of either car or robot mode, they all have a unique style at the same time. In Sideswipe's case, he is a prefect ballance of two different Autobots. The two being Jazz and Barricade, at least in the movie incarnations. Sideswipe is a Corvette Concept with silver paint and blue tinted windows, similar to Premium jazz's appearance, though with better quality. The headsculpt bares resemblence to Decepticon Barricade. However, everyone knows that Sideswipe is an Autobot. Could he be somewhat related to the two? Who knows what sub-plot this autobot has in store in the film Transformers Revenge of the Fallen. This figure has great posability with a great sculpt a wonderful attention to detail. The only problems I have are the occasionaly popping off of parts during his transformation and having minor balancing issues with the way the feet have to form in robot mode. Other than that, this is a great figure with great modes throughout.
SIDESWIPE was built to fight. He is sleek, fast, and single-minded in battle, focusing on his enemy with absolute attention. His blades are a shining blur in the air as he leaps through the air, twisting to avoid enemy fire. Converting from vehicle to robot at blinding speed, he uses every trick in the book to get close to his opponent, and put his powerful swords to work. Team up with this AUTOBOT ally and get ready to take on DECEPTICON forces! Unleash shifting battle armor courtesy of MECH ALIVE gearing in robot mode. I bought this for my daughter that is going on 14 months old. The list of chores that it comes with are reasonable and my daughter loves to get smileys when she is good. I love the two extra blank chore magnets. I used dry erase markers and add on things age appropriate. Even at a young age it makes her more aware that when she is good, there are rewards.
Its really helping me with my daughter's progress....She even reminds me every night to complete the chart!!, the good thing is that you get a weekly progress not just a single one, so if she does ok by the end of the week she gets a reward...
The Melissa and Doug Magnetic chore chart is great. I love that its very interchangable, my children pick out the chores they want to be responsible for each week so they don't get bored of doing the same thing. We use the bottom section to write what they're weekly reward will be with a dry erase marker. It is very sturdy and all in all a great product.
We have two 9 month old babies and it is not as easy as it once was to give immediate feedback and reinforcement to my preschooler for a job well done. To top that off, it is more important than ever that jobs actually get done more independently (get dressed etc). This chart is a great way for my almost-4-year-old to receive immediate feedback when he completes a task. I like that you are able to change what responsibilities are important but I would like it if there were more spaces to put the current responsibilities.
