(No Pain No Gain)

(Not so great)

(Not For Your 5 Year Old)

(A Bumblebee that really stresses, "More than meets the eye...")

(Really hard to put together)
Wow, there are a lot of whiners who hate this thing...
Why does it so often seem like I'm one of the only people who appreciates a thoughtful and somewhat challenging transformation?
I'd take that over say...the shellformers or the kibble laden Big Convoy from beast wars neo? (seriously, it was like two pathetic toys in one!)
I dunno, i really like this transformer, either as a collectors' item (hey, he looks pretty cool in the package) or as a toy (hey, he runs, guns, and transforms rather smoothly)
I will grant you that there are a WHOLE lot of little panels and pieces to this guy, which is probably due to how awesome he looks as a robot (and how screen accurate)
On the plus side, there is a lot of automorph to this guy, rotating his chest (the car hood) up rotates his arms and his windshield (its on his back) and sliding his feet up into position automaticly positions his rear fender and back window.
I will also grant you that perhaps some of him is rather flimsy (his back window splits in two for goodness sakes) and some of the pieces can be tricky to fit in (doors?)
Still, i think his camaro looks fantastic, and that his transformation, while difficult at first, is relatively easy since its basicly as follows:
slide foot flush with shin (repeat on other foot)
slide up hood over head
place hands behing his back (like he's been arrested for speeding) and snap the roof halves into place
slide in the doors and lock
OH and snap his feet together
there
done
that was easy (easy button anyone?)
in fact the only real difficulty I've had with this guy is getting his doors to line up, but to be honest? transforming him back and forth is easy once you know how to do it, and if u know where everything goes on a car (you drivers should really) its pretty intuitive
To finish, he's an outstanding mold and a fantastic camaro (camero? I can never remember how to spell it...) His tranformation can be a little tricky at first, but you really should be able to get the hang of it after two or three transformations
no longer is it simply "break apart all the kibble to reveal the robot inside" which I think is why everyone seems to be griping
(side note, when even my five year old brother can figure it out with the instructions, you know its not that hard...)
all in all worth the ten bucks or so you'll spend on it at target or toys R us or wherever

I picked this guy up recently and I have to say I'm disappointed!

From the first movie line, I have the '78 Camaro (which is lousy!), the '09 Camaro (which is awesome!) and the '09 Camaro Stealth version(featuring reverse colors and the armor/mask head-sculpt). I guess I just wanted to add to the movie Bumblebee collection.

While the transformation is mostly the same, the quality of plastic used is really cheap. And for some reason, I don't like the headscuplt. His eyes have got a "glassy" look, and it feels like he's just staring wide-eyed into space.

If you can't find the toy from the first movie, go ahead and buy this. But overall, I'm kinda disappointed with it.

Def not for your 5 year old, I am 35 and spent close to an hour transforming. This is more for the fan collector who will change every now and then for display. Wont last long at a 1st grade show and tell. Instructions, Bahh hopeless, and who posted the review "read instructions" must have been reading the lines and arrows. Instructions are of no use, better off just breaking the thing and putting it back together yourself.
I passed this guy up my first few trips to the store in favor of better figures (leader Prime and Megatron). He didn't look all that great in the package. I finally picked him up with Deluxe Skids, and even then, didn't bother with him until after I messed around with Skids for a while, who is also cool. Once you actually start messing around with the toy, you can see the charm it has, much like the actual Bumblebee character. The head sculpt is dead on. The detail in robot and car mode is very nice. It's a well articulated figure, and can stand and be posed fairly well. Turning him into car mode takes a little finesse to get complete, but it's not a complex transformation like Prime. Yes, pieces pop off, but like some of the more observent reviewers have pointed out, they are meant to do that so the brand new toy isn't permenently broke. They go back easily, and stay on. The gun arm is MENT to come off in car mode. A very cool and fun figure.
As a robot, the toy is pretty cool. The minute my five-year-old asked me to help him transform it into a car, things went poorly. Almost immediately, the head fell off and would not go back on. Finally, I got it to stay. Then the cannon fell off. It too goes back on with effort, but falls off again immediately. Two other little yellow pieces came off too, about every five seconds. After a half hour of putting things back that kept falling off and following the VERY unclear instructions, I was able to figure it out for myself enough to get it mostly in the shape of a car. The doors wouldn't shut and the cannon had to be removed to get it there, but I did it sort of. My son then played with it for another half hour and was able to get the doors closed. I hate the piece of junk and would rate it zero stars, but to be honest, my son likes it.
Having chosen to stay with Sam after the end of the battle for the AllSpark, BUMBLEBEE made arrangements to stay close to him at all times. It¿s been a pretty good deal. He gets regular detailing, and as much high-grade fuel as he needs. Plus, he gets to spend time with Sam and Mikaela. His vocal processors still aren¿t fully up to snuff, but he and his friends communicate just fine. If he ever misses the action of battle, he can alwaysgive IRONHIDE a call and go DECEPTICON hunting. Get ready to roll out with this AUTOBOT ally! This detailed BUMBLEBEE figure unleashes a launching pulse missile in robot mode and converts to a cool, Camaro concept car in vehicle mode! The battle is on and this bright yellow warrior is ready ¿ are you?

(Behold the infinate glory of Jetfire)

("TransFormers: Revenge Of The Fallen" Leader Class Jetfire)

(Truly More Than Meets The Eye (even if it's loaded w/kibble!))

(Huge in jet mode!)
Bot mode overall he's pretty impressive mainly bulky so this is a problem when it comes to some poses. However fear not he's an old man so his cane comes in handy, surprisingly. He has a good range of motion as far as his hands, arms, and legs go, but his head is pretty much stationary, though it can move from side to side. He is kibbly in his bot mode, the pieces on his arm and the pieces on his back, which is another reason why he's top heavy and where the cane comes in handy. There some pieces near the side of his head that tend to pop off REAL easy, but just put them back in place, though it is a hassle when transforming him in alt mode.

His facial sculpt is pretty accurate so I at least applaud Hasbro for that.

Transformation wise he is quite simple, compared to that of say leader prime. Just fold him up, literally.....

His alt mode is nice when looking at it from above, but underneath and 3/4 views he is again quite kibbly. But despite that is pretty accurate to the real Blackbird. Not to mention its HUGE, pictures do this mode no justice until seen up close.

Overall despite the kibble he's not a bad figure, very solid and like a poster mentioned the cane really adds to his character, and if you still don't like the cane, it is removable, and the figure still stands.

If you liked the guy in the movie like I did, despite his kibble he will not disappoint, but if your looking for something a bit more sleek I'd probably skip the figure.

Leader Class Jetfire

Robot mode pros:
-He's hunched over, just like in the film and can actually use his cane as a cane. (How neat is that?) Captures the feel of the film character.

-He's rather posable considering all of his gimmicks and combiner pieces being a core component of the figure.

-His face is a nearly perfect representation of the film character. (A really nice job, no seriously.)

Robot mode cons:

-His balance is a bit difficult due to his legs having weak ratchets compared to the voluminous weight of his backpack. (This is where the hunched over look comes in handy.)

-The panels that hide his face for vehicle and combined mode are double ball jointed and they pop off all the time. Becomes rather bothersome to have to snap 'em back in place all the time.

Transformation pros:

-Rather easy, so you (or your kids) won't be terribly frustrated going from one mode or the other, unlike Optimus Prime. (There's a figure that'll make kids and parents alike, unhappy.)

-When done correctly (read the instructions, you'll see what I mean.) he holds together tight and firm. (in both modes.)

Transformation cons:

-Panels pop off, pieces have to be set just right to make sure the entire shell of the place is locked in place. (I know it sounds like I contradicted my earlier statement of him being easy to transform, and I still stand by that. It just takes a lot of fine tuning to get it just right. It's worth it though.)

Vehicle mode pros:

-Massive. (No, seriously. His vehicle mode is that of a Lockheed Martin, Skunkworks SR-71. This is a good 15 inches long, perhaps even longer, I've yet to measure it.) If you wish to display him in vehicle mode, make room, otherwise he'll be a problem when finding a spot. (He's massive, did I mention that? :P)

-Exacting detail. (One of the best detailing jobs on a figure I've ever seen. Every panel, every intake, even the pilot's name (which I believe is fictional, I Googled...) is there in stunning accuracy. It even has the Skunkworks logo on the tail fins!)

Vehicle mode cons:

-The robot parts can be seen on the underside of the plane, which kills the accuracy on that end of it. (But the rest of the vehicle mode is replicated to the finest details.)

-His size. (It's a pro and a con. Pro for the awesome factor, con for the storage factor. Seriously, he's darn near unmanageable.)

Comebined mode pros:

-Captures the film character rather well, considering it's literally two toys latched together.

-Imposing, impressive, and hefty. (I mean it, he's a heavy bugger in the combined mode.)

Combined mode cons:

-Very difficult to make all the connectors work. (Once they do, they're difficult to remove.)

-No posability, just an awesome looking statue with movable arms and a head.

-Top heavy.

Other thoughts:

Overall, Jetfire is a solid figure, with a terrific vehicle mode, and a neat transformation. He isn't without his flaws, however, but they aren't enough to ruin the figure's fun and awesomeness. Once you have it in your hands, you'll see what I mean. The few negatives are well worth all of the positives on this figure.

I do recommend you be careful with the rubbery belt pieces (used for the combined mode) because they look like they could easily break, or dry rot as time goes on.

The combination is cheesy, at best, though it looks impressive, and makes for an irritating time when connecting and disconnecting the figures from one another.

If you can find one, I highly recommend you get this guy. He's a really nice addition to anyone's collection, or that newly made TF fan's wish list. (Welcome to our world, btw!)

A real treat here, TF fans. This figure is abound w/versatility: w/panels that become prime's firearm (in jet charged mode: that's a whole 'nother story altogether!), multiple accessories and a third mode that combines W/leader Optimus, this figure really delivers @ MSRP of 44.99. Although the robot gears and anatomy are eyesore-inducing (aka the phenomenon of "Kibble" as we collectors refer to it), the functionality of Jetfire is more than enough to compensate for it. Has excellent articulation for an item that undergoes a fair deal of transformation (though, in my opinion, Voyager Mixmaster takes the cake for metamorphosis/articulation ratio). The Mech-Alive gimmick is fairly intricate despite its limited range, and the speech gimmick does the trick (however, I thought Hasbro could've strived for more than just a single, eponymous line of dialogue for these leader-class figures).
And lastly, the fusing you can do w/him and optimus is true fun realized: a MASSIVE figure when completed (but more range of motion for the limbs could've been taken into account, but hey, this is Transformers we're dealing with here! We don't need to focus on details, just the BIG picture!) This figure will really add a sense of gravity to wherever it's displayed, at the office (if you don't get into any trouble w/it!), the home, or specifically, in your bedroom or home theater.
Overall, you're going to have a blast with this figure (especially if you already own Leader Prime!), and it is in my strongest opinion that you snatch him up before you have to wait weeks (maybe months!) before you get a second chance at this triple changer of a transformer! AUTOBOTS, TRANSFORM... AND ROLL OUT!

What a pairing! One of the best transformers of all time in the form of one of the best jets of all time! The top of the jet is amazing!
For those of you with limited shelf space, Jetfire is about 18" in jet mode (which is my favorite mode). The highest difficulty rating on the box is no joke, it took awhile for me to transform him. I would point out that it wasn't hard to figure out how to transform him, but the already transformed pieces would keep disconnecting, causing me to go back and repeat steps over again(the five general segments that make up the realistic top of the SR-71 were the main culprits).
I have yet to purchase Leader Optimus Prime, so cannot comment on the combination of the two, but the instructions make it look fairly simple from Jetfire's vehicle mode. I'm a huge Jetfire fan from the G1 days, and although I'm not fond of the engineering of this figure(the robot parts are too obvious under the jet, and the jet parts are too bulky in robot mode), it is worth owning. And besides, making him perfect would translate to making him more expensive. I definitely recommend him, and also recommend watching a review or two on [...]or something to see how he transforms in real life.

JETFIRE grew tired of war a long time ago. The reckless ambition of the DECEPTICONS, and the senseless violence of their war sickened him, and so he left CYBERTRON to go into hiding. The form he eventually chose on Earth seemed appropriate for one who wished to remain unseen. He slumbered in peace for years. Now, reawakened by the arrival of the war on Earth, he decides once again to enter the fight¿ this time on the side of the AUTOBOTS, and this time to end it for good, whatever the cost. Prepare for battle with this AUTOBOT warrior by your side! In robot mode, this mighty ally features electronic speech and light-up eyes and chest that are sure to discourage enemy attackers! This good guy is ready to take on DECEPTICON forces once and for all! In SR-71 Blackbird jet mode, get in gear with combat and cool conversion sounds that let you know this hero means business! MECH ALIVE gearing reveals moving armor panels and internal gears that let you recreate some of your favorite moviescenes ¿ or create your own! Team up with this awesome ally and roll out!

(Movie Soundwave: One Devilish Looking Decepticon !)

(Good For My 1st ROTF Figure)
with Transformers: Revenge of the fallen coming to theaters later this month..i like others were excited to hear that Soundwave the Decepticon Communicator, and megatron's head Intelligence officer will be making his big screen debut.

when i first saw spy pics of Soundwave in january i was shocked..the design was a radical departure from the tape deck character we all know. But, this design works for the film..his disguise is a communications satellite. in short Soundwave rocks! lots of detail here.

he is one Devilish looking decepticon the design retains his G1 style head(great touch takara/hasbro !) the color scheme is reminiscent of his g1 days also. he is quite poseable and is well built...i like his claws and his arms they wanted the movie transformers to look totally alien, and they succeded..

he also comes with ravage that launches from him ( ala g1 days) ravage as you know is the cassette Kitty that is loyal to soundwave..however hes not transformable...perhaps a later version will have a transformable one because hes in the film. mabey laserbeak too? one can only hope:)

Soundwave, is one of my favorite Decepticons, and i think they did a nice job on him..hes worth getting. like Optimus prime, hes hard to get..i went to 2 stores before i landed 2 of him (one to open and one to keep sealed in the package)

pros: its soundwave!
good articulation
movie accurate detail in all modes

cons: ravage is non transformable (they probably did this to keep the price lower)

if you can find soundwave, grab him..hes worth checking out. (hope they keep his cool monotonic voice for the movie, like prime's the voice is classic)

keep this one away from little Johnny, hes a bit fragile and you know how kids are careless sometimes...these are made for the collector and rightfully so..

RAVAGE....EJECT...EJECT

I went to my local Toys R Us and today, we have ROTF in stock. I got this guy and legends class Bumblebee. I was looking forward to this guy since I first saw him. The only real complaint I have is that the ball hinge on one of his legs is looser than the other. But very minor. I wanted to get FAB Skids, but they didn't have him. I recomend this.
Stationed in orbit above Earth, SOUNDWAVE swiftly taps into every satellite in range. Within minutes, communications, data traffic, weather information, and high-resolution spy photography flood his sensor net. The spill of data fills him with pleasure, and one by one, the humans’ systems come under his complete control. From his seat on high, he is in a position to control the destiny of mankind without their knowledge…or to run their civilization into the ground. Convert this TRIPLE CHANGER figure into three different modes and get ready to take on AUTOBOT forces! In robot mode, this devilish-looking SOUNDWAVE warrior’s cannon converts to a “blade” for battle! With a few twists and turns, change the robot figure to satellite mode with a launching RAVAGE projectile! Ready to blast off into unknown territory? Convert this awesome figure into space cruiser mode and be ready for out-of-this-world action!

(A PEICE OF GARBAGE)

(waste of money for a character who has less that 2 seconds of Screen Time)

(Taking Sides)

(Audi R8 lookalike that transforms into Barricade lookalike...)
I have had better luck with other transformers toys but this one is really bad. the doors keep falling off and you can't get them back on the right way. do not buy this toy. i was never able to transform it.
If you have seen the movie you might have missed who this guy actually is in the second transformers movie: Transformers Revenge of The Fallen. *Spoiler!* He is basically the car that jumps out of a window in robot mode and transforms back as he lands only to be cut in half less than a second later...that is it.*END SPOILER!*

I completely recommend buying a more prominent figure like Sideswipe, Starscream, or Optimus Prime for they are all characters your children can watch and reenact the movie with, you will get a better deal and your child will probably be less confused as to where their toy appears in the movie.

That said, Sideways feels poorly made almost with a rubbery cheap plastic texture all over unlike the Preview Bumblebee toy and toys from the first movie. He is not very detailed - his torso is pure read, no metal or black details at all- and has difficulty standing up due to his tiny feet. While his transformation is easy and smooth and his mech- alive gimmick is cool (when you move his elbows gears rotate in his arm) it is not enough to support the money you will loose when purchasing him.

Sideways is a new face we will see in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (ROTF) in a couple of days. According to the package he's a wimpy decepticon courier who likes to befriend larger robots to protect him. I wonder how that will play out in the movie.

For kids:
Eh, I think you'd do better to pick up Sideswipe kid. But if you need someone for him to knock around....

For Adults:
As much as I liked Sideswipe I had high hopes for Sideways but he doesn't quite live up. In car mode he is an Audi - well an approximation anyway- and while he looks nice he does have some flaws. One is that the panels of his vehicle mode don't hang together as solidly as many other transformers making him feel a bit more fragile than I like. This lends itself to another issue in that there are many clunky cut lines - even more so than Sideswipe. In particular there is an "H" shaped hinge right in the roof that sticks out like a sore thumb. They sculpted the rear window to imitate the engine you can normally see in there on this type of car but they didn't paint it so it adds noting to the vehicle and only makes the window look funky. Last and worst is that his robot body rather clumsily fits into the car and if you set him on a flat surface his wheels don't actually touch the ground. That's right - this is a car that doesn't roll.

His transformation starts off strong. With the push of a button his front wheels snap up and his chest piece snaps down. After that it's all the standard unhooking of panels and bending of legs and arms. I'll say this - it's not nearly as smooth as many other transformations and of all the ROTF toys I've tried seems the most rushed together. He seems much more like a robot stuffed into a car than a car that turns into a robot and therefore much of the car is left hanging on his back. I believe the term is "kibble" in the transformer community.

In robot mode he looks OK but not great. He has tiny feet and skinny legs but with a light touch he'll stand fine. His arms are pretty poseable and have some moving bits inside when you bend them at the elbow which I assume is his "mech-alive" feature. If so it's a bit weak. His hand blade is touted as a feature on the box but is just a spinning wheel. I was excited to see that he had wheels on his hands at first and was expecting some unique transformation where a wheel splits and becomes part of the hands but was disappointed. The wheel on the hands is a separate piece and the actual wheels fold away. I understand this type of thing sometimes but it still felt like a cheat. He has an odd color scheme with a bright red midsection. And his head kind of flips up and sits on his chest on a plate and so doesn't feel as integrated a part of his body as normal. Overall he doesn't look horrible but not the nicest looking robot in the line.

I think 2½ stars is fair and since I'm a nice guy I'll round up to 3. Overall pretty average to slightly below.

Transformers - Revenge of the Fallen (ROTF) has generated a lot of speculation about the new characters and plot a couple of weeks before it's opening day.
If you looked at the product picture, or at the movie's trailer, you already know that Sideways is a Decepticon robot whose alternate mode is an Audi R8... at least it is in the movie.

The new line of toys for this second movie seems to be better made than the toys from the first movie. The Deluxe and Voyager lines of toys feature crisper detail in the molds, more accuracy to the screen appearances, better articulation and better paint applications. Some characters (Optimus and Starscream) even got updated and look gorgeous compared to their old 2007 selves.

So, overall we can expect better looking robots and, of course, vehicles. This will appeal to more mature collectors (I'm 32), and certainly won't set back kids that play with their toys.

I value the accuracy of the vehicles, and in this area the movie producers have one big advantage, because they use movies to advertise products and companies will even pay them to appear in the movie.
On the other hand, toy manufacturers like Hasbro or Takara must ask these same companies for a license to use such vehicles as toys (and probably have to pay these same companies).

Hasbro expressly states the license when a vehicle is depicted by one of their toys: just look at the back of the box of ROTF Deluxe Sideswipe and Bumblebee and you'll see GM's logo and the licensed vehicle's name (like Corvette Stingray Concept, Chevrolet Camaro) or the new Starscream (Lockheed Martin's F-22). This basically means that the company approved the toy and the toy depicts such a vehicle.

Sideways's box does NOT show a license from Audi, and I strongly believe that Hasbro didn't get a license from them.
Because of this, the Deluxe toy car looks like a bootleg Audi R8: It's like that car, but with the wrong vents, grille, lamps, exhaust, air intakes and body panels; with a longer bonnet but without the cool "gills" below all the lamps, or even the Audi logo.

This is such a shame, when you consider the nice work they did with the GM cars (these cars feature the company insignia), or even the 2007's Saleen Ford Mustang that Barricade transforms into.

So, overall:

PROs:
- Vehicle mode features painted body panels and transparent head/tail-ligths (BIG plus compared to 2007's Jazz Pontiac Solstice). A kid wouldn't mind the "bootlegginess" look of this toy.
- Nice articulation in robot mode.
- Nice representation of robot mode concept art.

CONs:
- Gear Alive gimmick is useless.
- Lots of big transparent plastic that seems brittle and easy to break.
- Vehicle mode looks like you didn't transform it well and couldn't get the pieces to fit.
- Robot mode paint application is non-existent: most parts are the wrong color when compared to concept art from the internet.

- This is not a problem of the toy itself, but conceptual design of the character looks too much like a recycled Barricade.

At this moment we don'k know how big a part will this character play in the movie, and this could boost the coolness and "desiredness" of the character's toys.
Based on the toy itself, I believe it'll appeal to younger collectors and kids older than 7. It's not suitable for small children because it's got pointy, sharp edges and brittle clear plastic in large proportions.

"Back on CYBERTRON, SIDEWAYS was a simple courier who avoided combat at all costs. He tried to always remain in the shadow of larger DECEPTICONS, where the AUTOBOTS might not notice him. On Earth, he’s keeping much the same practice. He teamed up with DEMOLISHORearly on, and hopes that if the AUTOBOTS find them, the big CONSTRUCTICON can keep him safe. Team up with this DECEPTICON soldier and get ready to take on AUTOBOT forces! Unleash a spinning “saw blade” courtesy of MECH ALIVE gearing in robot mode. Then, with a few twists and turns, convert the robot figure to a super sleek sports car in vehicle mode – and get ready to roll over the competition!"

(Great looking transformer but not as sturdy)
I bought my son Bumblebee a couple weeks ago and was very impressed with the toy so I went ahead and got him Optimus Prime as well. The transformer itself looks much more like a robot in the robot form but is not as sturdy as Bumblebee. The wheels seem a bit looser and not as sturdy of a play toy. The first one we got had the button on the bottom of it stuck so it didn't lock into the truck form. There were no problems with the replacement. Still, I feel if I'd bought this one first, I wouldn't have bothered with any others. If your child actually plans to play nicely with the toy, Optimus Prime is fine. My son can be rough on them, and I have a good feeling this bot just isn't going to last.

(Great Action Figure)

(Transformers Optimus Prime)

(Well that's just prime...)

(OPTIMUS Prime is Prime)

(the best optimus ever)
All I have to say I was disappointed with both movies...given that...the action figures are top. I got this for myself ( I know my husband will swipe it from me b/c he's a fan boy like myself:)

Optimus Prime is just that>he's prime

This toy was purchased for my 5 1/2 year old grandson. The toy is stated to be made for children 5+ years. Although it looks very nice, it is nearly impossible to "transform" the toy which is the purpose of a transformer. My grandson could not transform the toy nor could I. This made it less than practical especially since we could not even return it to the previous figure. Very dissapointing!!
Well, first off let me say, WOW, this figure is awesome! I don't own the previous OP but can definitely tell this one is way better and movie accurate. If you're a fan and collector, you need this one. When transforming he does tend to say "I'm am Optimus Prime" alot but I learned how not to mess with the head. The knives on the arms like to come out but aren't too bothersome. This is a must get!
I just bought this today. At first I wasn't going to because I have the Optimus Prime from the first movie, but the level of detail in this figure sold me. This one is very movie accurate in robot and vehicle mode both. The attention to detail on this figure is is extremely intracate. They did take away the ablitity to move the fingers though.

I gave Durability a 4 because some of the parts come off during transformation, but they due snap bacl on very easily.

Here is the reason I gave Fun a 4: Do not get this toy for a very young child though. I gaurantee that the child would have no fun with this toy. The direction are absolutely horrendous. This was one thing that Hasbro did not improve on. It took me a few hours to figure out how to transform Optimus from robot to vehicle mode.

Overall though, a great figure for those like me who are collecting figures from the movie. I would also recommend the other figure as well. I have also bought most of those from ROTF.

This is one of the most detailed, movie accurate, and greatest transformers toy ever made! The transformation can be a pain the first time, an I nearly spent two hours watching the video and transformation on youtube! but it was worth it. Sometimes pieces will pop off and putting them back on can be a pain, but overall, this thing is amazing.
With the destruction of MEGATRON, OPTIMUS PRIME thought that he was finally, after millions of years, at peace. Little did he know that the escape of STARSCREAM would draw dozens of new DECEPTICONS to Earth. The desire that burns brightest in his Spark is that the war will soon end. He is determined to see that end come, and so he works with his human comrades and the other AUTOBOTS to hunt the DECEPTICONS that have come to Earth, and destroy them, one by one. Prepare for battle with this AUTOBOT leader by your side! In robot mode, this mighty warrior features electronic speech and light-up eyes and chest that are sure to discourage enemy attackers! With snap-out energy swords, this good guy is ready to take on DECEPTICON forces once and for all! In tough truck mode, get in gear with engine revving and racing sounds and cool conversion sounds that let you know this hero means business! MECH ALIVE gearing reveals moving armor panels and internal gears that let you recreate some of your favorite movie scenes¿ or create your own!

(Sideswipe....one awesome autobot !)

(That Guy Sideswiped Me!)

(Jazz v2.0?)

(the new jazz... sorta)
when i saw Transformers:revenge of the fallen..i was floored to see sideswipe in action. in the opening how he messed up the Decepticon sideways... and his line after that was classic! bad @ss !

sideswipe was one of my favorite Generation one autobots, and im glad hes in the new movie.

now we have hasbro/takaras take on the movie version, and let me tell ya its fantastic. hes a chevy corvette stingray concept in his alt mode, which has great detail. i would say of this movie's line this is easilly the "new Jazz" , as others have pointed out, and i also agree.

first off, he has an actual paint job not just a molded color which really makes sideswipe stand out. the silver paint looks great, but you need to be a bit careful when transforming him, because some of the paint may chip.to correct this i bought a silver shade auto paint touch up marker just in case ...no worries anymore.

the robot mode is really sweet. sideswipe looks exactly like his screen counterpart... well detailed and a great head sculpt. again we have the painted on autobot symbol..which is welcomed (and more realistic) his arms have his battle blades that can swivel around his hands are accurate too.

His legs have limited poseabliity, but if you get him into a pose as seen in some of these photos he will stand with no problems. i also like how he has the pistons on the back of the legs. its attention to detail like this that makes the movie lines a joy to collect.

The transformation isnt difficult, just keep the instructions handy just in case because hes a bit fragile. i get upset when people are saying i have problems changing him etc or hes to frail. well, if you want a realistic looking robot, your going to have to put up with the "more involved" transformation...from an engineering point of view..im impressed. ive been a fan since 1984 and i cant wait to the next wave of transformers already.

these are made for the collector, and rightfully so..i would NOT recommend giving this to 5 yr old johnny, because some of those kids are careless. But, if your a transformer fan, that appreciates great attention to detail and an awesome looking robot...this is one you need to add to your collection.

on a side note Sideswipe is getting harder to find from what ive seen ...i went to 3 targets and 2 walmarts looking for this guy toys r us too ..but,with no luck i finally found one at walgreens of all places!..i just ordered another one to keep MINT in the package. its the rule of the collector:)

sideswipe is AWESOME! mabey in the third film, his brother sunstreaker will show up .

Sideswipe is one of the hip new autobots who will appear in the Revenge of the Fallen movie. According to the packaging he likes close combat and is a sword expert.

For kids:
This guy is a sweet ride. He's a silver Corvette concept with blue windows and is probably one of the sportiest cars in the line. He transforms fairly easily but has tons of little bits and parts that move and come apart and go together. Because of this he doesn't seem quite as durable to me as some of the others. His swords are one of the coolest "mech-alive" features I've seen yet though and he's got a pretty cool looking robot form. I think he might frustrate younger kids but most kids will like both the car and robot forms.

For adults:
This guy is still a sweet ride. I even want to drive him around and make engine noises. He is painted silver instead of just molded in a certain color and this makes him pop visually. The downside is that over time I see this paint job chipping around the edges and rubbing off on corners. Another down side is because his is an involved transformation and he's such a bright color there are many visible seam lines.

His transformation isn't difficult but it is intricate with many pieces of the body of the car that move and swivel and break apart. He feels a bit delicate but so far has proven durable. Still, if someone went a little nuts on him he might break easy.

Once in robot mode he looks pretty cool with a sleek head, his shoulders that are the rear fenders of the car and a couple of neat points of articulation action. He has pistons and sliding knee covers in his legs that move as you bend it at the knee and he has four hydraulic rods connecting his leg to his body that slide up and down as you move his legs. The rods are a soft material so they won't snap. That's all pretty neat. He does have a bit too much of the car stuck onto his back though to look fully streamlined. But the biggest complaint is his feet. They look fine but the wheels are at bottom (as in his feet don't sit flat on the ground) which makes standing him up a bit of a chore as you have to wiggle him and his feet around to find balance.

His swords are two thin strips of the doors attached to each elbow. The cool part is if you grab one of the two and pull it around in an arc toward the front of his arm the other one swings in the opposite direction automatically via a cool little gear set up. They meet right in front to form the sword on each arm. It's a cool mechanism and works well. Plus you can take the two parts of the sword part way to make double swords or scissor like weapons or half way to make a shield like weapon. It's versatile and can be used to change up the look.

This is a tough one, I'll rate him four but three and a half would be fair too due to his inability to stand well, many seam lines, his chipping paint job and his delicate nature. Then again he looks cool and has those swords...

Sideswipe from Transformers ROTF is a new character from the movie.

PROs:
- Painted body in vehicle mode: The whole car's plastic body panels are PAINTED silver. This is a first for Hasbro in a regular Deluxe toy! (the old regular Jazz received this treatment with the Premium Deluxe toy line, which came very late. Such a Premium line won't probably happen again).
- Clear plastic headlights and tail lights: These look very cool, and in the older Jazz, these were only painted.
- Complex transformation and tons of articulation: The robot mode has a lot of articulation and piston-like bits that work, which is way cooler than Jazz, Bumblebee and other toys from the first movie.
- Robot mode proportions are more slender than the bulkier old toys. Sideswipe's weapons are his arm mounted blades, which are quite cool to rotate into position. The hands and other molded details look fantastic.

CONs:
- Big clear plastic parts: clear plastic is always more brittle than regular plastic, so it may break easier. I've damaged 2 pieces already.
- Complex transformation (level 4 out of 5 if I recall correctly): The instructions are not clear and won't let all the pieces fall into place, like the back windshield + trunk portion: you can see it jutting up in the product picture. When transforming to car mode you need to move face its head down so that it's looking inside his chest. This way the back windshield hinge fits behind its "ears" and the back windshield and tail will fall in place.
- Lots of panels in vehicle mode = lots of visible seams.
- Robot mode looks great and somewhat accurate to concept art... except that it lacks any paint. I mean, even ol' regular Deluxe Jazz (not the Premium Deluxe Jazz) has more paint applications in robot mode than this guy! Sadly, this seems to be the trend with the ROTF Deluxe line of toys: great paint in vehicle mode, but NO paint in robot mode. Good thing is, with the molded detail in these toys, a little touch up will do wonders.

This toy then is geared towards children older than 7, because of its complexity and small parts that can detach. It will appeal also to older collectors, like me, who will need to fill the void left by one of the greatest transformers toy line of all: Takara-Tomy Binaltech.

The majority of all transformers have similar characteristics. Whether it be the overall design of either car or robot mode, they all have a unique style at the same time. In Sideswipe's case, he is a prefect ballance of two different Autobots. The two being Jazz and Barricade, at least in the movie incarnations. Sideswipe is a Corvette Concept with silver paint and blue tinted windows, similar to Premium jazz's appearance, though with better quality. The headsculpt bares resemblence to Decepticon Barricade. However, everyone knows that Sideswipe is an Autobot. Could he be somewhat related to the two? Who knows what sub-plot this autobot has in store in the film Transformers Revenge of the Fallen. This figure has great posability with a great sculpt a wonderful attention to detail. The only problems I have are the occasionaly popping off of parts during his transformation and having minor balancing issues with the way the feet have to form in robot mode. Other than that, this is a great figure with great modes throughout.
SIDESWIPE was built to fight. He is sleek, fast, and single-minded in battle, focusing on his enemy with absolute attention. His blades are a shining blur in the air as he leaps through the air, twisting to avoid enemy fire. Converting from vehicle to robot at blinding speed, he uses every trick in the book to get close to his opponent, and put his powerful swords to work. Team up with this AUTOBOT ally and get ready to take on DECEPTICON forces! Unleash shifting battle armor courtesy of MECH ALIVE gearing in robot mode. And don’t forget to deploy his fierce-looking “blades” for extra battle power! Then, with a few twists and turns, change the robot figure to a super sleek Corvette Stingray concept car in vehicle mode – and get ready to roll out!

(Really Cool!)

(Neat looking)
This is one version, of two, of The Fallen in toy form (the other form being approximately a 4 inch tall figure), and this figure is really neat! The Voyager series is quite possibly the best version of the Transformer figures we get with this particular movie. The figures run at about $23 depending on where you buy them.

I also bought the Optimus and Megatron figures of the Voyager editions and, this also goes with The Fallen, the figures all feel cheap. The plastic is extremely lightweight and it's tough to keep the figures from staying in their vehicle modes (Optimus) without the aid of a rubber band. As much as I love these figures I will say right now that the Transformers toys from the 80s were of better quality than these. These feel like toddler toys that will break apart at any second when you handle them.

That's the only downside to all of these figures. Otherwise, these figures are still worth the $23 as they are very well detailed and are a nicer alternative to purchasing some of the more expensive models of the toys. Although, with The Fallen, this is the top of the line. This figure is articulated in many areas and the feet are closed together by springs so it would be easier to transform it into The Fallen's vehicle form. To get the feet flat you simply have to set the figure up on a flat surface. But the spring-loaded feet make the figure look even cooler if you set it up on the edges of boxes where one or two toes are flat while the other toes are grappling the edges of the boxes.

The "solar panels" on either side of The Fallen's head can be folded to the back of his head to give a more authentic look to the figure. The transformation of the figure isn't all that easy so you'll want to keep the instructions that come with it.

Overall, the figure is exceptional and highly recommended for any collector or fan of the Transformers toys! The appendages look great as well as the paint job!

The big bad villain the Fallen. He has a nice or should I say interesting bot mode. The "jet" mode is pushing it very obvious they created the bot first and just thought they could convert him into something that looks vehicle-ish.

He's limited as far as posing goes. He can only move his head in and out for this "energy panels" He has no ball joints for wrists so again it can only go up and down. Legs and arms have free movement though.

He's pretty sturdy though his leg did pop off once, but I popped it back in and had no problems ever since.

His feet are kind of annoying if you move him too much. Other wise I like the fact that they just plop into place if you set him onto a hard smooth surface.

Overall he's awesome looking overall though limited in certain aspects but definitely worth the [...]. Would recommend.

For Millennia, he has waited. Thousands of years have dragged by as he recruited proxies, one by one, to scour the cosmos for the artifact he required. Now he finds he must return to the primitive, flesh-slug infected planet on which is quest began. Nothing will stand in his way this time. If need be, he will scour the surface of the disgusting world clean in the fire of his rage, and search through the blasted rubble for that which he seeks.

Bought this for my son because he saw it in the store and begged us for weeks. He was sooo excited to get it for his 4th birthday but it's been a disappointment. We tried adjusting it but it's very heavy and he just doesn't like wearing it. Believe the label when it says 5 and up!
Excellent product, excellent quality, fulfills the dreams of a child in becoming his favorite idol.
Excellent service from seller

This toy is so cool! It adjusts easily and perfectly so that my son and I can both wear it comfortably with only 1 minute of adjustment time. My son LOVES this and so do I.
