The Deluxe Librarian Action Figure is a fun collector's item. It is a thing of beauty. It is a gag gift. It is not realistic. It is oh-so-true-to-life.

Am I contradicting myself? Then I contradict myself. I am a PK3-8 librarian. Let's see how we compare. Just how realistic is she?

*I do not wear dresses. I wallow on the floor far too often. If I must climb a ladder, I don't have to worry that little people below, well you know. I do own two burgundy dresses that just hang out in my closet. I do wear russet pants and a chocolate sweater. Close enough. Or chocolate pants and a russet top.

*I have a computer and I am on it everyday! Hmmmm. My students know words like processing books, automating, Dewey Decimal, the 500's, Caldecotts.

*No book cart. No, wait, oops, I use it everyday to haul books back and forth, forth and back for automation purposes.

*Stacks of books--OK, ALL OVER THE PLACE. EVERY WHERE.

*The product description says there are also "loose books." What does that mean--loose books? Were they corralled and some got out and are now loose? Or do they have low morals? Let's look around my library. Loose? Loose? A couple over there. One under the table. Two laying on the shelf, some in a chair. OK, loose we have.

*Reference desk. Nope. Too covered with stuff. "Ms Judy, where can I find books on owls?" "Ms Judy, I need a book on a person for my book report. Who do you think I should do it on?" "Ms Judy, could I check out two books today? I don't have any overdue." Reference desk, OK, that would be me, a walking-around, helping me.

*Shushing. I can shush all I want, but they will talk any way. Do I really care? They are still excited about books until middle school. I want them to look and laugh, point out and share, to sit on the floor in groups and read things to each other, to lay on floor pillows and read silently. How can you have those things if you have a shushing librarian?

To sum up, as you can see, the Deluxe Librarian Action Figure is nothing like me nor I anything like her. But I would love to have one! You know, a collector's item. Gag gift. Whatever.

If you've "Got Books" - you've gotta get the Deluxe Nancy Pearl Action Figure. No library should be without it on visible display. I'm a practicing elementary school librarian and a big Nancy Pearl fan. Ordered this as a Christmas present for my faithful assistant. She loves it - the kids love it. It brings up lots of discussion and is just plain fun to have around. The deluxe figure with all the extra goodies is a big improvement over the original "plain Jane" version. Now you can practice all of your vital librarian skills with actual mini books to shelve on your working mini book cart. If Melvil Dewey were still around I'm sure he would proudly display one on his desk. It does our profession proud.
...or at least ones in Ohio. Purchased this item as a gift for a friend who has enjoyed it tremendously. The one comment I received from them regarding the Deluxe Librarian Action Figure is that her "Shhh-ing" action can be somewhat intermittent. My friend did suggest that it "might just be the batteries". A worthwhile gift for any librarian in your life.

its not an educational at all, my kid loves animals thats why I always like to bye animals toys for him, and he likes it.
What a cute diego toy! Came with a baby jag and diego. My 3.5 year old is a big diego fan and loves this toy. When you press the button the head of the elephant goes up and down and there is some sayings from the movie.
The toy has held up well and is a good size and weight.
My almost 2-year-old son got this as a Christmas present. He loves it! Diego is a favorite in our house ... and we enjoy any toy with animals, so this is a huge hit! Very good quality toy.
My 3.5 year old received this toy today and LOVES it. He loves to watch Diego and Dora.

This toy is perfect. Its not too big. The noise is loud enough to hear it but not loud enough to annoy everyone in the house. The elephant's head does a neat little swivel.

All and in, this is a great toy that had been played with for over 3 hours just today! Has kept my hyperactive child very entertained!

Ultra Magnus is the leader of the Cybertron Elite Guard. Not only is the leader of that, but he is also the commander of all the Autobots which kind of suprised me. He is a very nice figure. He says three phrases from the show. He says "We must return the Allspark to Cybertron", "Ultra Magnus here", and "Don't be a hero Optimus, it's not in your programing". He is my favorite character in Transformers Animated (next to Shockwave). He is a definte yes for your collection. Although I would like to have the G1 Titanium Ultra Magnus, he fits the bill.

I actually bought this toy at Toys-r-us WAAAY back when it was first released. At the time, it was the closest thing I had seen in person to a proper Original series phaser prop.. It still is.
I know that it has one or two minor inaccuracies (one being the color of the handle) but for the price, it is DEFINITELY worth the money.
As-is, you could probably display it as a prop, or you could put a little work into it and make it shine. How much work would be up to you, I have seen Metal upgrade parts on some sites.
The ONLY way this would have been better is if it had had the metal parts but as another reviewer already said, that would have driven the cost up near the Master-Replicas mark.
If you are a Trek fan of any kind, buy one of these (and the communicator as well) I promise that you will NOT be disappointed.
My 6 yo son absolutely loves this! I love it too. I feel slightly hypocritical buying this gun. I would never, ever buy a toy gun, especially one that makes sounds. But how can you deny your son a fun memory from your childhood, plus it's Star Trek!
I didn't expect a realistic prop replica, but I was delighted to see that many of the orignal Wah Chang prop's details were faithfully reproduced in this toy. Even the pivoting, swing-up "sensor array" from the original hand phaser is represented here. Though it won't draw any amazed stares at conventions, this is the toy that all of us original Trekkies dreamt of in the mid-70s.
This toy is great. I am 28 and love the thing. It is the only version I have seen that has Lights and Sound, and also has it so that the Phaer Type 1, can separate from the Phase Type 2. You can also play with the Phaser Type 1.
I own two versions of the Original Star Trek Phaser: this one made by Art Ayslum -AA and the expensive one by Master Replica -MR (with a price factor of approx. 15 times more for the MR version!). The MR Phaser is my benchmark for the most accurate&authentic replication of the actual prop.
Verdict: I am truly impressed with this phaser made by Art Asylum. Putting them side-by-side (AA vs MR), they are both almost visually identical in dimensions!(slight difference in color: MR is slightly darker blue-gray body with dark brassy color handle as opposed to black on the AA version; MR has a glossy paint work. The MR phaser is "heavy" (of course, since it is made out of metal) whereas the AA is light&hollow feeling (plastic)... but, hey, what does one expect with the price difference. The key "plus" attribute of the AA phaser (like the MR version) is the ability to separate the top Phaser-1 from the Phaser-2 body (unlike Playmates version). MR version has 3 sound settings on Phaser-1&9 sound settings on Phaser-2 whereas, AA has 4 same sound settings for both 1&2 (+ one overload effect that ends in with an "explosion"... unlike MR where you have to continually depress the trigger to maintain overload sound sequence with no explosion effect at the end). MR has multi-colored phaser light (depending on selected setting whereas AA has only red).
Operation: after pulling off the little plastic tab (demo purpose only), one needs to rotate the numbered dial on Phaser-1 to activate; the adjacent dial does nothing but raises the "Target sight". Yes, the trigger of Phaser-1 is the same for both AA&MR, ie. button underneath (bottom). Note: removal of Phaser-1 from 2 is tricky requiring the user to grasp&PULL the little brass pin (with force)&at the same time pulling Phaser-1 off (MR version is more intuitive in that the pin is PRESSED instead)...
Enough of the technical-talk, bottom-line: those who cannot afford a $400 Master Replica Phaser can still get a "very" similar looking&functioning prop by purchasing this phaser made by Art Asylum (and not have to break their budget)

I bought this figure because I love Halo 3 and needed something for my Spartans to shoot at. It is highly detailed from top to bottom. One of the small features of this (and others of the series) is little plastic pegs that can be used to mount the weapons to the figures' back or leg. This is a well made figure and looks great on display.
Great addition to my Halo Figurine collection. Able to pose it and the paint job is nice. The size is just fine, it goes well scaled with every other Halo figure I have. Details are amazing. They really went all out with this one. It's worth the price. Also... toy was delivered to me BEFORE the delivery estimate and in perfect condition.
The McFarlane Jackal Sniper is a very great toy for the ultimate HALO fan. It is extremely detailed and the paint job is great. the only thing I hate are the sizes of the figures, they are a little too small for my standards, but overall McFarlane did an excellent job. Worth the money.

I was extremely excited when I found this toy at Toys'R'Us before Christmas. It was quite cheap for the size and coolness factor of the ship. My 8 year old son loved it for about a week and then became frustrated at how difficult it was to keep it put together. The ship is packed with movable/removable parts and You simply can not move it, or even scoot it very far on the floor without a mast falling over.

My son received this for a Christmas present and he just loves it. He had a great time building it but needed help from an older sibling. It is a great buy!
I'm almost 8 years old and I got this toy about a month ago and it's still fun. If you collect Mega Block toys, this is a must-have for your collection. it's pretty easy to put together and it holds together well. It comes with Jack Sparrow, Tia Delma, and Gibbs. This is a pretty fun toy and I reccommend it!
