customer 's review (Lots of Educational Value for the Money)
(Like magic) I have bought the Math, Spelling, and Brain Quest units by Turbo Twist and like them all. I have also bought all expanding cartiridges available for each model (put up for future use). The units have volume control and also a place for a headset - which is great! My daughter has recently discovered them again and has spent quite a bit of time using the math and spelling units. I am fixing to order the Vocabulary unit and the Fun Facts unit now. The fact that you twist&slam while entering the correct answers is very appealing to my 7 year old. I have also seen my 12 and 14 year old picking them up and play for a bit. We've been trying for two years to get my very bright daughter to memorize math facts. We tried software; we tried flashcards; we tried bribes. Finally she's reached the age where she HAS to memorize this stuff or the consequences are very serious on math tests and newer math concepts. Out of desperation, I bought Turbo Twister. It was like Magic. The first night she spent 45 minutes on it. She hasn't let up much. I've got her doing 15 minutes before bed each night and it's not even a fight to get her to do it. She loves it.Guess what? It works. She knows her facts cold. That's allowed her to move much more quickly on math tests and to focus on the mathematics rather than on the computation. Normally I hate drill and kill software, but clearly the sound /music it plays and physical movement it requires of the user combine to make it attractive and powerful for memorizing. ...at least for my kid..As always,.your mileage may differ. Study over 1,000 math problems designed to teach key 3rd and 4th grade math skills. Includes tips and activities that reinforce curriculum taught at school. customer 's review (Finally)
(One very flexible robot!) It's really hard to find something about the mass production models, and this figure is just perfect, everything in it is correct. The only bad thing is that it only comes with the hands, wings and the stand. If you want the heads, Longinus spear and the dummy plug, you should get the other one. Nontheless is awesome. Well, this toy is very cool. One of the most posable ones I've found, much like the earlier sculptor's series of eva toys which were bigger and much better looking, but could't hold a candle to the posability of this one. "RevolTech Joint" (or "Revoltech") is an innovative joint system that allows figure to demonstrate any kind of realistic pose. "Eva-Mass Production (or MP Eva)" appear in anime series "The End of Evangelion." They have no real pilots; rather, they are controlled directly by SEELE via Kaworu's Dummy Plug system. Their physical build is different from previous Evas, being narrower in the chest and shoulders and wider in the hips, but the greatest difference is in the head: rather than humanoid, it is streamlined and vaguely cetacean in appearance. The most striking feature of the MP Evas (or Eva Mass Production) are their large, mechanical, avian-style wings that enable them to fly, and which can be fully retracted into their back. The figure is 5- 6" tall and has multiple articulation points. "Revoltech Eva (Mass Production)" comes equipped with giant wings and a set of interchangeable hands. Alvin
customer 's review (Only worked for a day)
(Disappointed) My son was so excited to receive his Alvin but after a few songs, Alvin stopped singing. I changed the batteries and still no luck. We tried a second time with a new Alvin and same thing. Don't waste your money. I was leary of this item right out of the box when I pushed the demo button and nothing happened. Since anything with Alvin is scarce I thought who knows when this thing was made I'll put some batteries in and give it a try anyway. It worked, well, for a short time. After a while Alvin quit singing, then he quit moving and now it just don't do anything. By short time I mean it died in just a couple hours. I bought this for my 9 year old who is on the Autism spectrum. She has a big collection of characters so when she watches a movie or TV program she likes to get the character to hold while she watches. We have a vast variety of Sponge Bob and his friends, Elmo, Dora, Barney, Shrek and all the Tella-tubbies. Some are from earlier years but she won't part with them and we don't dare, sometimes she remembers these things out of the blue and they had better be around. So she naturally expected when the recent Alvin&the Chipmunk movie came out there would be a character. No such luck until I ran across these things on Amazon. Unfortunately, even with it broke she don't want me to return it. Most of us who buy this will be getting it as a gift or something special for a child, so don't disappoint the child, forget this thing and move on to your next idea. Now you can get your very own animated Alvin Hula Hoop Doll. The Alvin Hula Hoop Doll is sure to excite both young and old with the way the Hula Hoop appears to magically spin around. Alvin comes complete with his famous outfit with a removable hat and Hula Hoop. Just press the button and watch Alvin dance twirl his Hula Hoop and sing his famous song. customer 's review (A little easy)
(It's enjoyable -- but not quite as challenging.)
(Extremely Up-to-date)
(Great Get-Together Game)
(This is not easier, just more current) Could just be because I'm a child of the era, but I find this version a little bit too un-challenging for my tastes. Still fun though. This update to the Trivial Pursuit line attempts to modernize the questions -- and switches some of the traditional categories around in an effort to appeal to a broader audience. The "Arts and Literature" category is now gone, for example, swallowed up by a huge Entertainment section that skews heavily towards more "pop" references. Almost all the history questions are targeted at the latter half of this century -- making questions on things like American politics ludicrously easy for people who've been paying attention for the last two decades -- and "Science" is now less concerned with rare conditions and more interested in recent breakthroughs. In other words, compared to the previous editions, this one will seem noticeably easier -- and much narrower in focus -- to real trivia hounds, but much more accessible to wider audiences. Given that this was a stated goal of the revision, however, it's no so much a problem as a "feature;" younger people used to feeling adrift in a sea of Baby Boomer references (like I was as a child) will probably appreciate many of the changes. Remember back about the early 80's? Trivial Pursuit was THE game to have, it seemed every party you went to included some game of Trivial Pursuit that usually kept you at that persons house till the early hours of the morning, you knew you should have been home hours ago, but you just had to get that stupid wedge and win before that guy!A lot of that still holds true for today. This Edition, quite justifialy, is a modern Trivial Pursuit. A lot of the stigma felt amongst younger players (and many, many adults) was that Trivial Pursuit was simply too difficult unless you had an Honors degree at Harvard or Oxford. I read reviews saying that it has been dumbed down, Parker have simply removed a lot of the older relating questions which simply hold no reference to todays below thirty generation. It became pretty obvious that they were cutting off half their target audience with entertainment questions solely concerned with Abbott and Costello and I Love Lucy etc. Also, a lot more Modern History questions appear, not just ancient British Royalty and Spanish invasions, Nelson Mandella and Tiger Woods now turn up. Some people's distent is clearly due to their rememberence of Trivial Pursuit as a game that was relevant to them in their youth, and now they have grown, Trivial Pursuit has grown on to another generation, with questions which may no longer be relevant to them. Whatever happens, you can't stop evolution. Still the greatest party game around, and no Moops in sight. I first played this version of the game on a ski trip with a group of friends. We had a blast, and some of us continue to play whenever we get together. My husband and I will often play at home as well. The categories are fun, and the questions span a good range of difficulty. As stated on the box, the content covers"General Knowledge Questions", so there are a wide variety of topics for everyone. No matter what you specialize in, you're sure to find something that stumps you, as well as some easy ones to boost your ego, and your score! To those of you who have lost your minds. Trivial Pursuit Genus IV was my first TP game. I found it very challenging--this coming from a 3.9 GPA KU graduate. After reading several reviews about the older versions being"harder", I decided to go to the local antique shop and buy me Genus II. Needless to say, I was mislead. The questions presented hold the same degree of difficulty. The only difference between IV and the older versions is that the questions are more current. Of course they would be easier--it is ten times easier to answer questions about Bill Clinton than Richard Nixon, but Bill Clinton is CURRENT and Genus IV is CURRENT. If you want these"harder"(or should I say"older") questions, GO TO AN ANTIQUE SHOP. For those of you who considering this game, I highly recommend it. The questions are fun and they are challenging. For those of you"dumbing down"people who say that they want the"Adult Targeted"games back, think about this: when the versions were each put out they were targeted towards young college students, they always have been so don't go off crying that some kid who beat you (because when I, II, and III came out, you were that kid) It's become the high praise of the day: "I'd sure like to have her on my Trivial Pursuit team." Life is never dull when there are people around who know what baking ingredient, sprayed at high pressure, the U.S. Air Force replaced its toxic paint stripper with. Or what male body partMademoisellemagazine found to be the favorite of most women. The object of the game is to show off one's general knowledge--that is, it's to move along a circular track, answering questions, and to collect colored wedges for correct answers in six categories: People and Places, Arts and Entertainment, History, Science and Nature, Sports and Leisure, and Wild Card. The game includes a 20-by-20-inch game board, question-and-answer cards in two card storage boxes, dice, six plastic tokens, and 36 scoring wedges. For two to six players or teams. (Still wondering about the answers to the above questions? Baking soda and eyes!)--Emilie Coulter Item is in stock and ready to ship. Rerations < Trivial Pursuit Genus IV >

customer 's review (Cool dude)
(This is pretty kool...)
(great)
(Execute Order 66)
(AWESOME!!) The right hand is loose, and his hips don't move, but is a good second-in-command for my clone army, great overall toy. Well, i found this item at the local Wal-Mart about 2 months ago! It is extremaly hard to find! I really want the new battlepack that just came out. It includes 5 arcs!!! It's called Hunt For Grievous!!! I want it soooooooo badly! This clone commander is very much like the arc trooper. He has an improved rangefinder (also called microbinoculars). Anyways, this is 1 of the most awesomest toys ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Has anyone seen the new varriant version? it is blue. It is a very rare toy. It has gear exactly like an Advance Recon Commando or Arc trooper. The only difference is it has an improved rangefinder! A must-have for star wars fans and collecter's. I had a hard time finding this. I love arcs which is what this is close to. This is one of the best clone troopers. It has great articulation and many accesories. It took me a while to figure out what the rope and handle were for but I figured it out. The rope is very helpful for posing. You can make your commander zipline across a trench, zipline down from a gunship etc. The variety of weapons is to be noticed. He has a heavy rifle, to make a gunner, and two blaster pistols, more subtle and more style. Hard to find. This is the coolest of all of the ROTS Clone Troopers!! He has good articulation. His little blasters I couldn't fit in his hand very well, but his DC-15 Rifle fitted better. It's cool when you have the original Red Clone Commander and then the Green Variant of the Clone Commander!! An elite officer in the Clone army, the Clone Commander leads a squad of Clone troopers into battle against the Separatist forces. Based on the Clone Commander from Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, this exciting action figure comes fully armed and dressed for battle to help you recreate the movie's most thrilling scenes. (Another beautiful quality)
(Great Raptor toy!)
(Big Bite in a Little Package)
(great product) Well, this is a special find. I obsess on dinos here and again, and always like toys to look at to help me imagine the dinos more thoroughly. I also like to display toys of current interests - monsters and the such. Finding a good, realistic dino is hard to come by!! I tried doing a few models, but am not the modeling type - - so when I stumbled across the Papo dinosaurs, it was like a gift!! These are sturdy, durable, extremely realistic toys - and my first one was the lovely Velociraptor. It's great! A realistic, mature depiction of what a real Raptor might look like - and the working jaw is nice, but it's a display toy; meant more for office spaces at work, or a desktop (for an adult) than it is for a kid. It's nice to not have them so articulated, as it adds to the realism of the creature and pose. The JPark toys were horrible, and not very good representations of realistic dinos. The Papo creatures are just right if you want a good, adult dino to spark your imagination. Great, great toys - you can't get 'em any better than this!! The papo velociraptor is a great dinosaur! It's small and I think that's awesome! I ordered the spinosaurus and the velociraptor together and I love how it seems like Healthstones made it looks like they made them specifically to be accurate in the size differences! I love it! Again if you want to add a great dinosaur to your collection then I would highly recommend purchasing this great item. 5 out of 5 stars! I bought this toy for my nephew, who is an avid Jurassic Park fan. As chance would have it, this toy looks almost completely like the JP V. Raptors -- and it has a moving jaw, which he's thrilled with. This is a great figure. Highly detailed and accurate (very Jurassic park Lost World-ish). It would be nice if it was larger, but this still a great figure and a must have for any dinosaur fanatic.
very detailed, cool pose, nice moveable jaw. i really liked it. too bad they dont make em bigger tho. Papo figures inspire very creative and imaginitive play. They are extremely detailed. Rerations < Papo Velociraptor >

customer 's review (Fun for couple of minutes)
(Cool)
(This rules!)
(perfect timing)
(pretty cool) Purchased toys for nephews for xmas, after an hour of playing they were bored with it. I purchased this for my 5 yo nephew. He LOVES transformers and really love this toy. I have been told mum had to keep transforming them in the beginning as it is a little tricky -- something I expected for his age. Nothing bad to report though. So you have a transformer that looks like Chewbacca and one that looks like Han Solo in a robot fashion of sorts. They transform in a basic fashion to join into the Falcon. And then you get miniature ARTICULATED models of Han and Chewbacca. The Chewbacca transformer has a sound button that when pressed either makes Chewbacca noises or engine noises, since his transformer is the back 1/2 of the Falcon. Han's noise button has him reciting lines from the movies.
I'm 35 but I feel like a kid again playing with this. I got this as a Christmas gift from my sister and brother in law. I don't know who gave me the oddest looks - them or my parents. Between this and the 20th Anniversay Edition DVD of Transformers the Movie, I am in TF nirvana. My grandson loved it and you got it to us in plenty of time for Christmas. For a star wars/transformers nerd its pretty cool.. but it's more for collection than anything.. whats cooler is I got mine at target for 15 bucks!! I should have bought 2 The fearless duo of Han Solo and Chewbacca elevates the Star Wars Transformers line to new heights. Combine the two and you get the trusty, battle-ready Millennium Falcon, then you can take it apart for two separate figures. Features electronic lights and sounds.
