(Favorite of all Christmas toys.) (No batteries, just lots of fun) (User friendly) (Good old gravity fun!) Our two year old loves this track. After a month or two of playing with it he occasionally sort of gets the elevator part of things, but mostly just climbs up and puts his cars at the start of the track. The spring loaded bit of the elevator then proves a bit of a hindrance, as it is easily pushed down when placing the cars (even for me) and the cars get stuck. But that hasn't stopped our intrepid racer, who will run race after race and giggle with joy. He completely doesn't get the flag business at the end of the track to indicate the faster car, but it amazingly has stood up to him poking and yanking on it. So, lots of fun and so far nothing has broken despite at least a month of heavy use, so that makes it a winner. My three grandchildren, ages 7 and two 5-year-olds, received many, many toys for Christmas, most of which were considerably more expensive than this toy. The V-Drop was played with over and over, much more than other toys. It took some doing to find just the right place (a door) to hang it on. It was moved around a bit in the search for the perfect door, but the track held together well. All three, two boys and a girl, loved the V-Drop! We had so much fun with this toy when we brought it home yesterday! My almost 5 grandson and I set it up (which was pretty easy). It hooks easily and securely over an interior (not an outside) door, and the parts touching the door are soft plastic which shouldn't scratch and didn't scratch our door. No flashing lights, no noise, no batteries, just you and your imagination. We have a perfect place to use it: we set it up at the beginning of a long, uncarpeted hallway. The cars would shoot out so fast that you could hardly see them and they were only stopped about 20 feet away because they hit a wall. What fun! If this sounds like too much, you can always put a blanket on the floor to catch the cars after they come out. I'm not sure the toy would be as much fun on carpeting. Our set came with 4 cars (the Amazon description says one car) and they worked really well. We also tried a bunch of vehicles from our collection and any regular cars will work. Some of the larger Matchbox trucks/strange vehicles/buses etc. don't fit through the gates. The winner's gate at the bottom seems to work OK, but might be favoring the number two slot. The elevator can be a bit tiresome to pull the cord, but you can also push it up and down if you can reach. I just got a chair for my grandson and it worked fine. When we were done playing with it, I took it apart into 3 pieces that store easily under a couch. My son really likes this toy and so do I because you can actually interact with it unlike most Hot Wheel tracks that are driven by batteries. I bought a couple of the battery driven sets which are hardly used, because my son will turn one on, put the cars in and will soon walk away with it running. The batteries die and you end up spending more on replacing "D" batteries that you do on the set. I don't know why it is so hard to find interactive track sets - the manufacturers really dropped the ball on hitting the target market if you ask me. My son's cousin just linked two of the two-track sets together and they will play with it for hours. You do not have to hang this off a door. You can prop it off the back of a chair or couch for easy access (and safety concerns ;) - this also makes for a longer track that can be manipulated (jumps and banks). Now I just have to find someone who sells just the orange track. The car could fall off and hit him in the eye!!! That's hilarious!! Well, maybe not so much if it actually happened, but you've GOT to be kidding! I'll address this "safety" concern later. This toy beckons back to the day when kids were happy with toys without batteries. Basic in design, nothing could be simpler than just letting your cars race down the track, but its still engaging. I found my kids creating jumps at the end of the track and setting up things for the cars to knock over - because 7' of gravity makes a matchbox car go pretty fast! Forget the elevator. It is quicker and easier for the kids to just put a step stool close to the track and reach up and put the car on the track, although my daughter did enjoy working the elevator for awhile. But all the action is watching the car race down the track, not slowly climb on the elevator. As far as the "safety" concern.... I never had a hint of a problem from my kids. I think there is probably as much "danger" of the car flying off the jump and hitting someone in the eye. Or maybe we should all wear helmets, safety goggles, and hearing protection. The V-Drop Track Set features two lanes of racing action with the original 6¿ gravity drop that really showcases the power, speed and performance of Hot Wheels cars. This is one case where you really want to get the drop on the competition. This is racing action, pure and simple. Cars soar down the track, and the winner gets the checkered flag. It includes one vehicle. This cannot be used with some of the Hot Wheels vehicles. (Scar Predator) This is aa really cool toy.there are a few minor problems but it is still cool. On the box it shows him without his mask on and even on the website it does. I can not take off this mask. If anybody knows how please tell me. The extra arm blades on his arms are not in the movie but they sometimes get in the way. Also the two wrist blades sometimes get to close to eachother so i had to put some paper between it. The sculpt is amazing though. you should also tape the case for his dagger to his legs becuase it falls off a lot. The cannon is pretty cool but it iseasy to loose. I didn't loose it but my friend lost his. Always keep the cannon attached to the thing or else you are screwed. otherwise this is a great product. The predator spear doesn't expand and is made out of cheap plastic. The predator has a few minor problems but they can easily be fixed. Kids will love this product but before you give it to them you might want to fix the problems. Predator is sort of short compared to other toys but he still is cool. This toy is awesome it totally resembles the predator from the movie it is cool and fun I love McFarlane toys. The detail is always immaculate, with not a square inch of plastic wasted. However, McFarlane figures are never meant to be played with for they tend to be brittle and not very posable. The Scar Predator (due to the mark on his helmet) is no different with one exception. With about fifteen points of articulation, you can actually pose the figure. Unfortunately, the base has no pegs so you can't actually make the figure stand up unless it's leaning against a wall. This is also true with the Celtic Predator I bought so I'm assuming the design was intentional. Strange... I also couldn't understand why the design of the figure didn't allow the mask to be removed since it was obviously glued on. Regardless, it's a pretty handsome figure. However, I wouldn't recommend it to little children since there are sharp and jagged edges and even a removable pointy sword, but for older geeks like me, it's the perfect companion to the movie. **Those wondering which Predator figure (Celtic or Scar) to buy should be aware that the differences between the two are minimal. With only slight variations in the masks and different weapon accessories (staff and discus), there really isn't reason to buy both unless you're a die-hard fan. Furthermore, from the packaging, which clearly shows a picture of the Scar Predator with his mask off, I was given the impression that you could remove it from the figure. No dice. It's glued on just as tight as the Celtic figure.** First of all Amazon has some really bad poses of these figures, so go to Spawn.com, in the search bar type Alien vs Predator, on the page you get scroll down and go to the figurette. It has places to buy, cool photos, packaging photos, VR featurette, and more. At of all the sites I've been to I say the cheapest place to buy these figures is Amazon.com. This toy is not very durable, in less than 3 hours of owner ship the plasma caster came off. Not the gun part but the extendion piece. What I did was take a twisty and rap it around it tightly. It works fine, but my answer to you is to take this figure out set it up carefully and pose it the way you want place it some where and pick it up by the base when you want to move the entire thing somewhere else. October 12, 1985) (Hurm) (Possibly the worst action figure ever) This item was everything I was expecting. It's an awesome toy, very affordable and shipped very fast! Wonderful purchase! Figure sculpt is on par with that you would find with statues. Not the most posable, but this figure as well as the movie and graphic novel it is based upon, are not meant for children. Great for collectors who appreciate fine details. This guy is my favorite Watchmen character. I thought about his mask for awhile. Anyone making customs is okay. But they are making a beanie mask of one of the designs in May. Onto the toy. There are 2 other variants of this figure. Prison and Unmasked. He has a stand and 2 pegs. 1 peg is for his foot to attach to the base since his legs have no articulation. The other peg is so you connect the other series 1 figures stands together in any order. He also comes with an open hand to hold his grapnel gun. Just as an FYI, the hands are very hard to switch so what I did was if I decide to get Dr Manhattan, I would keep the hand and spare pegs in the box. I used my favorite of Rorschach's quotes from the movie for the title. When Amazon does the selling of that mask, I will certanily review it. Gripe #1, the [lack of] articulation on this figure is ridiculous. Not because I want to create my own kewl "action pose"... I just want the friggin' thing to STAND UP, and with the legs and feet the way they are, it is impossible to get it to stand on its own and look normal, so the base becomes an unfortunate requirement (unless of course you already have pegged stands). Which leads me to gripe #2, which is the positioning of the pegs on the base. It's a square base (like the one seen in the Doc Manhattan photos) with holes in the center, back edge and front edge, but since the hole is in Rorschach's back (right) foot, there's no way to get him into the center of the base; he's either leaning into the center, or hanging off of the edge. Overall, it's a cool enough looking figure. Not the greatest, but most of my issues with the way it looks are my own, and likely not everybody else's. Paint and colors are good, detail is good, pose is on the stupid side, and the permanently cocked head is a bit annoying, but all-in-all, it's not bad. If I could only just stand it on a flat surface by itself like any other decent figure, I'd be happy. I've been waiting for a Rorschach action figure for a long while, and after seeing the movie I had to own one. He looks great in the box. The action figure is well sculpted, but that's where the accolades end. Once out of the box, the first thing you'll notice is the lack of articulation. Basically his arms can bend and his legs can twist, but there's not a single pose that looks right on him - he always looks as if he's constipated or falling over. And for some unknown reason the head is in a permanent lean that looks like Rorschach nodded off mid stride. The figure comes with a second right hand made to hold his gun, but here's the best part: the gun doesn't fit the hand. It falls out and won't stay. Absolutely worthless. It comes with a display base with three areas for pegs, but the figure only has one hole in one of his feet, so it's hard to stand him up without having a slight lean. The slightest push will knock him over. No matter how you configure your stand, Rorschach won't fit squarely on the stand and looks silly. This was poorly designed! There was an extra plastic piece that came with the figure, but for the life of me I have no idea what it is used for. It looks like a clamp of some sort, but it really has no purpose I could discover. As a last laugh, I believe the toy makers put this clamp in the box to confound anyone who had the misfortune of paying this price for what can only be explained as the biggest action figure failure. Do not waste your money. This is an inferior product. This action figure, from the first of two assortments totaling eight figures, is straight from the feature film Watchmen. It features exquisite sculpting and detailing. Rorschach stands 6.25" tall and features movie accurate costume detailing.
