Realistic Looking Design
For fans of the video game, these Plasma Pistols will look like they were pulled right out of the computer screen. Made of a durable hard plastic and carefully crafted and colored to look just like its video game counterpart, we were very impressed with the hefty, build quality. The likeness doesn't end with just the physical look; the plasma gun also lights up in the appropriate spots, creates realistic sounds, and even has details like overheating sounds. The guns feel wonderful in the hand and aren't uncomfortable in any way.

Laser Tag Fun
The guns aren't just collectible replicas; they're functional and with them, you can play a great game of laser tag with your friends. This set includes two guns and two target units, enough for a two player game, but more guns can be purchased to increase the number of players.

To begin play, simply flip the switch to on both the gun and the target. The target unit has a belt clip for easy attachment to the player's body. With each shot you will hear the firing sound from the game, and the tip will light up. When you hit the target, it flashes and makes a sound.

The target has six shield levels that are indicated by lights on the unit, and the game is over when all six shield levels are depleted. Just as in the video game, you can create a super shot by holding the trigger down for at least three seconds and then releasing. This super shot inflicts more damage but will temporarily overheat the gun and disable it. When ammo is used up, a push of the reload button lets you resume. Also, like in the video game, the target will regenerate shield levels if not hit for 20 seconds.

Long Range
We were able to test the target from about 50 feet away without any problems. (The instruction booklet claims a range of 92 feet. ) One minor annoyance we encountered was that the laser tracking device wasn't especially accurate; we would get "hits" even when we weren't aiming straight at the target. This was especially noticeable in short distances and while playing one-player target practice. With multiple players, there was so much running around and the target was so difficult to hit that we did not notice.

Batteries Required
Each Plasma Pistol requires 4 AA batteries to operate and each target needs 3 AA batteries, meaning a total of 14 batteries are needed for a two player game. Investing in rechargeable batteries might be wise and would save money in the long run. The guns and targets will enter sleep mode if it detects no activity for 10 minutes, saving battery life.

Fast, Exciting Play
Fans of the film, and all its fun, friendly characters, will remember Mack as the friend of Lightning McQueen -- the hot shot racing rookie -- whose image is on the side of the trailer. Not only is the adorable red semi truck transportation for McQueen, Mack is also a "bachelor pad" for the racecar with seven different play features, including a weight machine, car lift for repairs, game station, and more. A great place to cool down after a day of racing, the blue pad is a hang-out area, or -- with the push of the yellow/gray button -- a rocking "dance" lounger for McQueen. The vehicle also has a TV set, an opening fridge for a drink of oil or water, and a car wash with a sink, toothbrush and mirror.

Each character in the Mattel Pixar Cars set is beautifully detailed and blister packaged replica, designed in 1:55 scale die-cast. Measuring 14 inches long and 5 inches tall, the Mack Truck playset is also built with durable hard plastic that stands up to the play of young children. The Lightning McQueen figure is sold separately.
