People has always love the original blue-red optimus prime because this is the original one, i think that it looks great too. This one is also a great piece green-gray colors, it looks very nice. I have this toy and also brawl desert storm, that is another repaint, they are almost same height, but brawl is so much robust than optimus prime. The only problem i think it has or maybe the only thing i would change is the automots insignia, i would like to see a more detailed insignia maybe in some other point of his body, but this is just an idea. Im looking forward for the new movie and the new toys that release with it, hopefully can have the constructicons and devastator as well!!! My son 10 year old son practically begged me for this Transformer. He was struggling with 5th grade math this year and I used this toy as an incentive to get him to bring up his math grade. It worked perfectly. I surprised him with it one day and you would have thought he was on cloud nine. He has it sitting on his dresser in his room. He is mighty proud of it. You must be careful not to handle this toy to rough. It could be broken quite easily if forced into the wrong position. My son got frustrated transforming it the first couple of times but now he has it downpat! This is a fun toy! Easy to change from truck to robot to truck. Not recommended for little kids 6 and under. This Optimus Prime (Leader Class) figure standing at an awesome 13 inches tall, now infused with power from the Allspark, can go into stealth mode - hence the new colors. A more sneaky version of the Autobots head honcho it's really just a repaint of the first Leader Class model. The detail on this toy is impressive - from realistic rubber tires to individually moving fingers. Truck mode even has a working horn and cab lights. There are not as many flames as the original version (which could be a good thing) but the nighttime blue look really adds a whole different attitude to Optimus. The transformation process is challenging but not impossible as every part has a logical place to go. This version of Prime sports the automorph action (which basically is an automatic finish to the transformation into robot mode) with working lights. Unlike many Transformer figures both the vehicle and the robot modes are top notch. I can't decide which form to display this guy in because they are both so cool! I have transformed countless robots in my lifetime but I have to say this is one the best quality Transformers I've seen. Nightwatch Optimus Prime is a great toy and one of the few 40 dollar figures you will find that is actually worth the cash. This is the same figure as the first prime but with the dark blue paint scheme. This figure looks much better than the first prime. The first prime although original, the red, white, and silver paint just didn't look that good and the legs look very bulky. A week before the movie came out in the theaters I saw 30+ primes at Toys R Us and Target, of course they were all sold out during next few days. I didnt buy it because it just didnt look that good. Then I saw this few days ago at Target and it looks really good so I got it. It's well built and huge. By the way I saw the masterpiece version of Megatron at a toy store(Bandai Japanese version, I dont think it's released in USA due to the GUN design issue. It's huge and made of all plastic like this prime and the shop wanted $150 which is rip. If they release here for $40 I would get it. As with most lego sets of this type; once you put it together there isn't much to do with. The joker van is rather small compared to the Tumbler. This was the only thing my son wanted for Christmas, and we can't wait to give it to him on the 25th. Great item.....promised our 4 yr old son he could have any toy he wanted for learning to ride his bike, this is what he picked. While he needed his dad's help to put it together he has spent hours playing with it since. Even though it's not age appropriate he has gotten a huge amount of fun out of playing with it. We make sure we put it back together when it gets bashed up but I think this will remain a favourite for a few years. This is the best set I have ever bought! I will name the Pros. and Cons. Pros: Cool Tumbler, Great minifigures, The Tumbler's missile fires very far, Cool tommy-gun, Tumbler is very detailed, Jokers ice-cream truck is cool. Cons: Jokers hair is loose, Tumbler doesn't turn well on hard surfaces but turns on carpet. AWESOME!!!!! It was very fun getting to live out some childhood fantasies in building the batmobile. (Great Megatron Figure) (Overall excellent version of a classic villain) (Awesome!) this toy stands up just fine. you just have to rotate the legs a little Beautifully done. This figure's fun factor is off the chart, awesome vehicle mode, great accessories ( 2x swords, 1x arm mounted fusion cannon and 1x missile). The figure's mouth moves it has 20 points of articulation. Lights and 5 sound bites activated by pressing the decepticon insignia on its chest, 3 phrases which was done by the original voice actor (only in robot mode), 1 which sounds like the rotors of the helicopter (only in vehicle mode), 1 which is the trademark of all transformers..... the transformation sound (during transformation). The transformation gimmick will serve to stimulate the mind and also the figure with its both modes will stir the imagination of children. I've had this toy for about one month now and so far i haven't discovered any thing weak or prone to breaking. Overall this figure is the ultimate megatron, great homage to G1 megatron, with a more useable alternate mode. Bottom line is that it is a must have for anyone who likes transformers. I agree with some of the other reviews that this is one of the better Megatron figures to grace the aisles of the toy department. (Especially compared to the $50 disaster that was the "icy" Megatron figure from the Transformers movie...) Vehicle Mode is rock solid. Everything fits together snugly and stays that way through fairly rigorous play. The swords-to-propellers transformation means there are no Robot Mode accessories to keep track of while in Vehicle Mode. I agree the angle of his legs in Robot Mode make him look like he needs a bathroom break, but all things considered, this is a nice, sturdy figure that works well in both modes and as a toy to be played with rather than just posed in a display case. (If the legs bother you too much, there is an alternate Megatron Animated figure that seems to have corrected the awkward angle.) The Transformers Animated Leader-class Megatron toy is one of the more expensive toys in the line, so the big question you have to ask is "is this toy worth the $40?". Quality-wise, yes. The design in robot mode is very accurate to the version in the new animated series, which should make a lot of the fans of the original "Generation 1" Megatron very happy. The helicopter mode goes together nicely and looks very presentable on it's own. First off, lets look at the gimmicks for this toy. Pressing the Decepticon emblem on his chest causes various red LEDs to flash while the mouth moves and the figure utters one of three phrases. It's hard to tell if they had Corey Burton (who provides Megatron's voice in the show) do the voice for this version because the figure shouts everything. It's a nice feature and the voice is alright, but I wish they had used the "Decepticons! Transforms and rise up!" line from the show. It would have made sense on the toy. Still the feature is pretty nice overall. The only bug I noticed is with the moving "eyebrows" when the button is pressed. After a while they get out of position and start to look screwy if you don't push them back into position. A minor glitch but it doesn't really detract from the toy. The toy has a relatively simple transformation process and yet it keeps both modes looking good. Hasbro-Tomy have a really nice touch with the detachable arm cannon. There are a lot of joints that allow a good range of poseability and they are stay nice and tight. There are only minimal paint and mold errors, compared to a lot of Hasbro's recent run. The only real mold flaw I found was in the arm cannon piece. It works fine in robot mode, but in helicopter mode, it's hard to attach and detach the part and when it is attached, it seemed to connect poorly along the seam on one side or the other. The piece is slightly too wide so that one side tends to pop loose slightly when the other side is properly in place. I had to loosen one of the screws slightly to get it to stay in place properly, but after that it seems to work fine. The biggest problem I have with the toy is the way the legs are designed. It's very hard to find a pose where they stand properly without making the figure look really awkward or cause it to lean a lot to one side or the other. The lower legs bend outward slightly from the knees, due to the method they used for the transformation. It seems like the knees themselves needed another joint or a modified version of the joint they used to compensate for the odd shape of the legs. There are poses that work, just don't expect a wide range of poses where the figure will stand without support. Overall, I was extremely pleased with the design and quality of the toy. It's a worthy addition to any Transformers fan's collection and worth the price. I LOVE this figure. One of the best megatrons ever made. There are only two problems, one is balance, he doesn't stand up that well, and his legs' position make him look like he's gotta pee. Besides that, he's one of my favorite animated toys.
