(A lot of fun! Just make sure your computer is up to snuff) 『My Son (4 years old) and I really got into this game. This had a lot of places to see and after a while, he got a sense where things were spatically. I did have to play a few of the levels at first but then he was willing to try it and copy what I did.
It does take a while to load but you don't switch a lot of areas after you get past the first set of puzzles (which lets you off the island into a new area).
You end up in a Knight's Kingdom world, Johnny Thunder character in a Lost World Jungle/Dinosaur place and finally a short jaunt into space.
I wish there was a Island 3. BTW, Island 1 is terrible...』
(OK Game, but...) 『This game has much better graphics and you have more freedom of movement than the original, but as for the gameplay, it is not something you want to play over and over again. While in the game, you have an objective at any given time, and whenever you talk to someone, they tell you your objective and point towards it. In other words, you really have to complete the objective unless you just want to go swimming or something. The freedoms and graphics may have not been that great in the original LEGO Island, but the gameplay is much better, and you can choose what missions you want to do when you feel like doing them. If you can, rent it or something and beat it in the 2 days it took me and then give it back, since I dont think it was worth the $... i paid for it.』

As he has figured out how to play with it on his own he has gained a sense of accomplishment and it is good for fine motor skills as well as learning consequences (if the gears don't mesh, they don't turn, etc.). It is brightly colored, the sound can be annoying but no more annoying than most other toys. I highly recommend this toy.』

UPDATE: (2 and a half months later): This toy was a gift to our toddler from his grandparents. The good news is that he enjoyed it while it worked, which was about 2 and a half months. It makes annoying noise, reauires batteries, and is more cheap plastic that we didn't need. They look like the old bristle blocks I used to have; but they just don't stay together. It's not fun to play with the kids and have their creations fall apart every time they try to build something. I'm going to have to pay more, I guess, and buy the real thing that works.

(Creativity let loose) 『I enjoyed my Girder&Panel so much as a kid, I couldn't pass up buying one for a nephew.
In each set are a couple of bases to build from, many columns to build up with, and many beams to span with. You can cover your structure with the panels, there are different styles of panels as well.
These are a giant step up from Lego's, which are darn fun in their own right--but this let's children build a 'real' building.
Easy to put together, sturdy; and easy to take back apart.
It also allows children to realize how gravity affects buildings as they begin to span out and the unsupported structure begins to sag.』
(Left in the lurch) 『The Tekton Plaza Girder and Panel building set seemed a brilliant choice for my son. However, upon arrival, the set was strewn about the box and most of the building pieces were missing. Customer Service at Bridge Street Toys said they couldn't help me and referred me to the manufacturer. Customer Service at the manufacturer said she would have to get back to me and sounded skeptical that such a problem could occur. After a few days, she assured me that the missing pieces would arrive in time for Christmas. We received nothing and have heard nothing. I've given up and have since ordered the set from another toy company. We're awaiting delivery. I anticipate that my son will love the building set but my review reflects my exceedingly unsatisfactory treatment.
