(Great Lego Addition To Our Collection) 『I bought this for my daughter who is building a Lego town. She really found it easy to build, except for the bus which was a little tricky. It is fun to sit the people in the pizza parlor at tables. Also, you can get the pizza lady to put a pizza in a little oven with a door that opens. On the second floor of the pizza parlor there are windows that open. There is a skate shop that sells skateboards and hats. It comes with a guy that has a helmet and skateboard, so you can ride him around the city. The bus stop has a bench area that people can sit on especially a little business man guy. The detail in this set is impressive. Lego has come a long way since I was a kid.』

I was also worried that it would not stay together once built which would cause my 7 yr old much frustration, hence I would be re-building it over and over again. On the contrary, my son built it himself and has kept it assembled. He has dropped the bus a few times and I have had to fix it but I found if you push the pieces together tightly while building it it will stay together longer. I find my son doesn't push the bricks together tightly when building and I think some of that is due to his hand strength vs an adults. I would recommend the product.』

This set has one officer with a very detailed torso and a white hat. The only thing that I don't like about the officer is he looks like he is frowning; other then that he is a good figure to have. In addition to the figure, this set comes with a rare dog which has a stud on its back so you can connect different pieces to it. This set also comes with a small equipment rack with a black walkie-talkie and a white hand-held stop sign. In addition, this set also has a speed gun which is very simple but looks good. Well, here are the basics of the set:

The pieces are durable hard plastic, and the only minus is that the creator is limited to either linear or right angle based creations. Creations can fall apart if they are played with too aggressively. Force and gravity are realities with anything- Otherwise, it is helpful in illustrating the concept of gear mechanisms. The bright contrasting colors are fun and good for seeing the relationship of one gear to another (every other gear moves in the opposite direction- a novel concept for a child!) Kids can build across, up and over. I recommend this toy for explorative play as well as guided instruction for teaching simple machine concepts. Our son played with it alot as a toddler, and is now using it again for reinforcement in learning about the wheel and axle/ simple machines. With a little creativity, other objects can be incorporated to see how gears fit in every day life. Our set came from a yard sale, and didn't come with a guide book, so everything we have built from it has come from our own imaginations :)』

Both the quad and the dune buggy that you can make with this kit are tough and mainly stay together well, except the front hood fender on the dune buggy tends to come off, but you can simply stick it back on. It is quite difficult to build, but only because some things are tight squeezes into their proper slot. One amazing feature is the working shocks and moving pistons of the model. They are quite realistic, and amazingly resemble the real thing. I am an 11 year old writing a review for my mom, and I would suggest this (or maybe the technic dirt bike, but it looks pricey) for any kid into building things, Lego setts, four wheeling/off road&motorcros, or all three!』 『You're ready to take on any terrain with this authentic and functional quad-bike! My son does, however, build all kinds of OTHER things using the pieces he still has from this set, so I guess I can't complain!』

Much to my surprise, he loved it. I only say this as he is rarely occupied for long periods of time with any one toy. I sat with him building some of the characters shown on the box. I had him gather the pieces for the character by color and then allowed him to push the pieces into place as I guided his hands or held the pieces in position. He would then add his own pieces to the constructed model. He quickly got the hang of connecting the pieces and occupied himself with constructing characters from his own imagination. Great fun toy to play with your child or for them to play with alone.
