There are a lot of steps to creating the trains. Yet, even though the toy says that it is for ages 6-12, our 5 1/2 year old was able to assemble it himself. He just wanted us to be nearby, but one he got started, he was able to follow the directions and create the trains and small station. He had many days of fun creating the trains, but now that it is done, he loves playing with it.
The toy also encouraged him to be creative with other legos.』
(Fun to Build and Play With) 『My eight-year-old was able to put this together with a little help. He already had some basic Lego building sets, and he is now using them to build things for the train like bridges, buildings, cars, etc. The train looks nice and runs very smoothly. The set comes with a small loop of track. It is worthwhile to buy some additional track and a switch. Overall this is a lot of fun.』
(Trouble with Lego Train) 『We purchased this train as a birthday present for our daughter, and it was great fun for a while; a short while. We experienced technical difficulties after having the train for only 2 short months and the train stopped working. The good news is that the folks at LEGO were very responsive and promptly sent out replacement parts to resolve our issues. They reported having a lot of problems with this model. It took two calls to customer service and about three weeks to get everything through the mail (in 2 separate shipments). Our train is now working again. Thanks LEGO.』
(Smooth ride!) 『This is the best Lego train assembly ever. The tracks snap smoothly so is the train moving above. You need lots of AA batteries: Nine! but they seem to last. If you are into the train thing, make sure you buy additional tracks and switches to make more fun than just an oval.』
(Excellent train) 『An excellent set! This may be my favorite LEGO set I've ever owned. The train runs very well on the track, smoothly and quickly with 7 speeds forward and 7 in reverse. Top speed is quite fast--fast enough with completely fresh batteries to crash the train, but the construction is very durable, and you're not going to break it with a little mishap. My living room carpet is a perfect base for the track, so unless you have serious shag, you're not going to need to set up a special play area.
The train has seating for 11 minifigure passengers and the engineer (an engineer and 2 passengers come with the set). The roofs of the cars come off easily to get figures in and out while fitting snuggly enough not to fall off during use. There is enough track for a small oval (about 28 x 39 inches). You would need to buy more track to get the train to run under most Christmas trees.
I gave it 4 stars instead of five because the cowling on the locomotives doesn't fit very flush to the train body at all. My boys were 6&4 when they got this and Daddy did a lot of it to finish it. Then after it was together they wanted to play with it so they did and it took nothing for it to come apart. So if you are buying this for an older child who won't want to play with it just add to a Lego collection or something then I think it would be ok...maybe.』

(Awesome Crane) 『The LEGO Crawler crane is a must have for any LEGO fan. It has lots of realism, a crank to work the crane, and the tracks move like the real deal. We received two duplicate bags of the same one family and the rest were miss-matched as though they ran out of the set so tossed in a hand full of what was laying around to meet the quantity requirement. Will be sending them back to get a new set.』

(Daughter loves them) 『My daughter loves playing with these people. She takes them places and has a lot of pretend play with them. I like the diversity aspect of the toy and the fact that she is using her imagination to play with the figures. I think we're on our second or third set now. A simple but great toy that can be used with Lego Duplo sets or alone.』
(Great idea...durable, fun, and long-lasting!) 『Our two-year-old nephew lives in India, and the "Legos" that can be purchased in India are generally not the same type or quality as the actual Lego brand. When we traveled there recently, I took him a large set of Duplo building blocks, and came across this set. Of course I had to buy it!
Even though all of the little people are dressed in Western-style clothes, it's nice to have the different skin tones. Their arms and legs move, and their heads turn (you can even rotate the caps on the little boys' heads!).
My only complaint, and the only reason I rated this a 4 instead of a 5, is the high price. $40 for a set of 16 people is high when compared to the prices of the building sets themselves...but since this product seems to be exclusive to Lego, I guess that explains it!
Overall, though, our nephew seems to like the people more than the actual building blocks! Even our eight-year-old nephew enjoys them too.』

My grandmother first got him a small set and because he loved it so much I got him a larger set. He will sit for hours and play /build with them. Also my son has Sensory problems and this really helps because he has to work at pulling them apart. Overall this is one of the best toys ever. I must admit I enjoy playing with them as well and I'm 38! Cassi』

(Magformers) 『Last Christmas I purchased a 50 piece set of Magformers. My twins grand daughters loved to flexibility to build things with the pieces. However, they really needed more pieces. So I purchased the larger set of 62 different shaped pieces. This was an enormous hit. The pictured booklet was helpful but they created their own ideas along the way. If won't be long before an other request will be made and I will get another set. Very creative toy.』
