The "Mountain" base is also very popular, and very good-sized. He puts all the characters and animals (and toy cars, etc.) inside, and builds things on top. There is a giant variety of different kinds of parts, which makes for lots of options when putting things together. This set is in the top 2 or three of all his toys. We paid $48, and that seemed like a fair price for so many legos and so many big ones.』
(Great LEGO set!) 『This is a very nice LEGO Duplo set. It comes with a cave, a T-Rex (with movable jaws), a pterosaur and baby, and a triceratops and baby. It's a bit strange that a dinosaur set should include cavemen with furs, boats, wood fires, etc. since dinosaurs and humans are separated over 60 million years, but this isn't going to bother kids young enough to be playing with a Duplo set. In all, this is a cute set with a lot of unusual little pieces. It makes a good gift for a kid who already has the standard Lego sets.

While not the recommended age for this product, my son loves dinos and legos, so this was perfect for him. He loves to play with this set. There are no teeny tiny pieces in this set. (Fantastic Toy) 『This is a great toy. I bought it for my 7 yr old grandson and he loves it. This item stands up to a lot of beatings and droppings. It is very sturdy and durable. It goes into the tub at bath time and he has a great time with it. He has learned a lot by using this toy. He has learned how to put things togather in the proper order and how to count and keep up with all the parts. I rate this toy as a 10 in all categories. I will continue to buy the grandson one each time that I can. He LOVES them.』
(Raanu Agori of Fire) 『This is a great set! It is fun to play with. It contain 4 new pieces and 4 recolored pieces. The new pieces are the hands, the mask, and the head. The new head piece is a socket piece and the attachment point for the mask is at the top of the head instead of at the mouth. This head is smaller than previous heads lego has released so older masks will look odd if you decide to put one on. The legs are sometimes a problem for me because they are bent at 90 degrees. That sometimes makes balancing it difficult. Overall the set is great and I recommend it to any bionicle fan.』 『Raanu might seem harsh, but this village leader has to be tough to help the people of Vulcanus survive in a dangerous world. It was a blast for a couple hours and $[...]. The instructions weren't the best, but between the two of us we figured it out (it helps that she's a mechanical engineer). The finished product is mesmerizing (the roller coaster actually works!) I'm planning on buying a bigger set now since we had so much fun with this little one.』
(great building toy) 『My son received this for his 7th birthday. He loves building with legos and k'Nex every day and the speed coaster took him approx. one hour or less to put together. It stays together and he and my four year old son turn it on for a short while sometimes.』

(flimsy, parts are 1/2 size of my other K'Nex parts and easily lost, no extra pieces) 『I bought this for my 4-1/2 year old son as I thought it would be fun and since we have a big box full of other K'Nex parts, it could be used elsewhere. The price was right when I bought it, but I was quite disappointed when I got the pieces out of the box that they were a totally different size than all of my other K'Nex parts, about 1/2 the size. So that make them totally incompatible. And as a few others have stated, since they were 1/2 the size of my other ones, once I put everything together it seemed rather flimsy. I bought the Swing box too but am probably going to take that back.
Once together my son loved it, but I expect it to break quite often with the small pieces as they flex quite easily and become disconnected.
As to the size, since they smaller than my other ones, I can see them being lost quite easily. Another deduction on my point score is with the ease of losing them, once put together there is not a single piece left over. So if you lose one of the very tiny black connectors, you're screwed.』
(What a nightmare of a toy -- please avoid at all costs!) 『We purchased this for my 7-year-old-son after reading the positive reviews on Amazon's site. Although the toy is described as appropriate for "7+", it took four adults, working together as a team over a period of approximately three to four hours, to put the thing together. Knex's instructions are atrocious -- no where near as clear as those provided in Lego's products. Further, the product is fairly flimsy, and the connections on the parts to do not stay together well. Lastly, the coaster did not work when it was completed. All in all, it is a terrible toy that I could not recommend to anyone. The toy is very sturdy and durable and the concept is great. If the magnets were stronger there'd be sooo much more one can build and learn about basic architectural concepts.』
(could be better) 『Great concept but the company cheaped out on the quality of the magnets. Two pieces hold together nicely, add a third and they will barely hold together. The pictures showing towers all stacked up is great to look at but don't breath to hard or they will fall apart. This applies to the staight set to.』
(Worth its award) 『Nice big magnets, tested in our home on a couple of weeks under 1-year-old who got the concept and does play with them. Very cool! By my standards, maybe the magnets could be a little stronger, but the baby seems to be enjoying it all the same.』
