(Overall, a good buy) 『My almost four year old son got three of these sets for Christmas. At first I didn't understand the need, especially since we have a huge container of legos. These are much more friendly to his age and because it takes less blocks to make something (because they are big) he has a better feeling of accomplishment faster.
Overall, I would recommend them. The ball on the catapult may not go far, but do we really want kids this age throwing balls around the house with force?』

(A sturdy toy for busy boys) 『I four year old son tends to break the put together type toys, but this one has really lasted. This toys gives a lot of sensory input as you not only hear the blocks snap together but feel it also. He could use the catapult again and again, and I didn't need to worry about him hurting his siblings or the dog because although the cannonball flies, there is not enough force to hurt someone which is a big plus in our household.』

It was fairly easy to assemble, though the younger kids will definitely need help. It seemed pretty sturdy for a blocks and rods type of toy. I loaded up the bucket with the included ball and took my first shot. It was like brushing an ant off your shirt. The ball launched (more like fell) about a foot and landed softly on the carpet. I tried a few more shots with equally boring and disappointing results. With the hose that comes with it, my son even pretends that it is a fire truck. My only complaint is that when he drops it, the pieces separate and go everywhere. However, I suppose if that didn't happen it would break. If your son or daughter likes trucks, this one will be a hit for sure. We didn't see this particular one in any retail stores so I am glad I stumbled upon it here at Amazon. Just another advantage to online shopping...better selection than retail.』

The Emperor is already available in other sets so bah. The Rogue shadow is very detailed. Very classic among one of my most favorite creations of Star Wars. It has lots of storages of weapons,missiles, and guns. It also has the front guns and there are landing gears too. the stuff in the side can go up for landing.

He just wanted us to be nearby, but one he got started, he was able to follow the directions and create the trains and small station. He had many days of fun creating the trains, but now that it is done, he loves playing with it.

Those cylinders operating the log-grabber are attached to hoses that lead from a pump underneath the trailer. You operate the pump with your finger and use valves to control the air to the pistons. Don't expect miracles from the pneumatic system; the pistons do not have a long throw and the grabber is not going to lift heavy weights. But it is fun and I think quite educational for the kids. For children, turning the spaghetti of pneumatic plumbing into a working artifact is a revelation. In fact, this set is probably more valuable for its creative possibilities in building different machines than it is as a log lifter. If you enjoy building machines with your kids, I recommend this set highly. The tractor is rather compact and spartan, but the kids have an easy time maneuvering it. And the trailer with the pneumatic log lifter is like a big robotic claw for them. The finger pump and the valves are not the easiest devices for some children to manipulate (i.e., age six or younger). You can purchase an accessory motor set (Lego 8293) to power the pump, however, and I recommend lengthening the valve levers so that little fingers have an easier time with them. For a young baby they provide far more age appropriate education and fun than the average wood block, and they are of excellent quality. My daughter has thoroughly enjoyed exploring each unique block since she was 4 months old. Everyday she spends a good 15 minutes studying them, banging them, and knocking them over. This is by far one of my favorite toy purchases for her.』

The yellow block with green bell is her current favorite and she loves make it jingle. These blocks were my introduction to HABA toys and I am now a convert.』
(Basically Brialliant) 『I'm fortunate enough to live close to a toy store in Germany that carries HABA products and picked these up for my 11 month old. They are basic in a brilliant way and keep my son fascinated and will probably do so for a while yet. Another plus is that they are handcrafted with more natural than man-made materials, so essentially safe of babies to put in their mouths. While HABA products are somewhat expensive (I have spent more that $300 dollars on them) I do not regret a single purchase and I am glad to support handmade craftsmanship (and the healthy development of my son).』
