The first day he didn't know how to connect the pieces, but since then he has gotten the hang of it. I like to build things with him and he definitely enjoys taking things apart. He also likes to put the pieces away, back in the storage box in which the pieces came (nice quality box BTW - that's a bonus) when play time is over.
My son often stomps on the pieces, but nothing has yet to break. I also don't see a piece that is small enough for him to inadvertently swallow if I wasn't watching him.
Amazon had a great deal on this when I bought it after Xmas. Overall - it's my favorite toy (of many) with which to play with my son.』

(Good toy) 『I paid $9.99 for this toy and I it's a great deal for the price. My 4 and 2 years old daughters love it. Set contains blocks (similar to Lego Duplo, I think) and other, non block parts that are compatible with Kid K'Nex kits. Blocks are compatible with Mega Blocks Mini System. It was great kit for us because we have plenty of Kid K'Nex kits to build all sorts of creatures (lots of fun, by the way) and we also have plenty of Mega Blocks (which are not so good as Lego Duplo, but much cheaper). Now we have a way to integrate all this kits and build huge hybrid constructions, I think it is great for kid's imagination. I am not sure how much fun this toy would be by itself. As many people have mentioned Cookie monster falls apart. His body is too heavy for his legs. Company needs to improve connections here. My girls, however never got upset too much about Cookie Monster being not tough enough, they build all sorts of other things out of spare parts. Blocks that come with the kit are pretty good; they alone might even convince me to buy additional set. Bottom line: good toy, can be combined with other blocks (like Lego Duplo or Mega Blocks) and Kid K'Nex kits. 』

The frustrating thing about the toy is that cookie monster does not stay together, it constantly falls apart and my nephew needs me to help him put him back together. I received this megablox set as a gift from my parents for some decoration in my dorm room. I used to love legos when I was younger, and always had fun playing around (mostly smashing) what I had made. However, the lego sets were super expensive and I only owned a couple.
Comparatively speaking, these megablox sets are much cheaper, and depending on your plans for these Halo sets it might be worth it.
Of course as a college student there isn't much play going on with the completed model, and I intend to use it specifically for display purposes. Construction was rather involved, but nothing too ridiculously hard. Anyone in their teens and up should be able to grasp the diagrams and assemble the vehicle successfully.
The mini action figure is a great addition and adds to the detailed and display quality look of the set as a whole.
Overall, I'd say I'm very happy with this gift and would recommend it to any Halo enthusiast looking for a neat and nostalgic display piece. For children you may want to look elsewhere.』
(Nice idea shame it needs superglue to stay together!) 『My 12 yr old is a huge Halo and lego fan so this looked ideal as a Christmas gift. However it was frustration in a box. The directions were unclear but more of a problem was the fact that some essential parts of the build were ill fitting and did not withstand having other pieces built on top at later points in the construction. In the end we resorted to super glue to hold bits togther but there are still gaps that don't look so hot! (The most fun is putting it together but it requires strength to snap the pieces together) 『My 3 1/2 yr old granddaughter and I assembled this and all it consists of is a plastic helicopter and tower. The entertainment value lies in assembling it, however I wonder if a 4 year old would have enough strength to snap the pieces together. There are lego-like blocks and blue rods with a ball on the ends which need to be inserted into the slots/spaces. It requires enough strength to force the pieces until they snap and are correctly seated. After assembly, playing with it is a matter of imagination and desire. The instruction booklet that accompanies it is excellent and depicts assembly variations. Overall, it was an adequate toy much like legos but I would say more difficult to assemble.』

Some parts are specific enough to give him some direction as what to built, but then there are almost endless variations in how you combine the pieces. We do have to help him build to get it started but he's starting to do his own modifications. He'll fly the helicopter/space shuttle/rocket ship. The propellors spin; that's cool. Good open ended imaginary play. I like the fact that it can be more than one creation. I think it's a good size for his age--larger sized duplos/mega bloks are cumbersome and best for making buildings or stationary objects; legos are too tiny for his age, get all over, hard to keep track of. The created product is fairly durable, won't fall apart immediately. That it can be combined with other sets seems nice too.』

We discovered CitiBlocs during a visit to a hands on science museum where they had a room with a thousand + blocks for the kids and their parents to build with. It was a huge hit with my boys and clearly people of all ages were addicted to these seemingly mundane blocks. Had it not been for this experience I would have not thought to purchase them. My boys love to build and make things with their hands particularly with Legos. When we surprised them with their own set of CitiBlocs they were thrilled. I recommend buying a minimum of 300 blocks to start with especially if you have more than one child, this way they don't argue over whose building to destroy so they can build some more. I suspect we will be ordering more blocks in the future. The set comes with an instruction book offering some neat ideas of things to build. It really is amazing at all the different types of structures you can make from a simple, rectangular shaped piece of wood.』
(Appeals to a variety of ages) 『Ordered these for a Christmas gift. The 11-year old son and 5-year old daughter loved it, as well as both adult parents. Grandma enjoyed looking on as we variously competed and worked together on several projects. These are unfinished planks. I do not intend for my 2-year-old and infant to chew and/or suck on these, but you know how it goes... It is nice that I don't have to worry about chemical ingestion when the inevitable happens. My dogs are also partial to wood. One plank already has a couple teeth marks in it, but it did not splinter immediately or anything like that. I'm sure it would have been destroyed had we not been vigilant and caught the dog right away. The planks in our set were uniform. The planks fit exactly into the box, so you do need to put them away just so, but it is easy to tell if any of the 300 planks are missing without counting. With babies and dogs around, it gives me some peace of mind (kind of). I'm kind of a cheapskate, so I have put off a large wooden block purchase.
