(GeoAir Airport is Great for Kids!)
(Not much to it but my son loves it)
(Love Geotrax Airport) When I first received the package, I found a bonus not listed in the product page. It comes with a free Geotrax 3 series DVD (with GeoAir). Setting up ---------- There are not many pieces in the box. The steps to construct the control tower with "air" tracks are pretty short too. However, I found two major flaws with the plastic moulding. First and most important flaw is the blue main base of the toy. Yes, an adult is needed to setup the pieces (just like Geotrax Grand central station that I bought previously for my son too). But getting the control tower all the way into the blue main base piece needs a great amount of force as well as a flat tip screw driver. You won't be able to force the control tower in unless you insert the screw driver to pry for more space. The slot for the control tower is smaller than the control tower, plastic moulding not precise! The second but more minor problem is the yellow gate. It does not fit securely onto the blue main base piece again due to lack of precision in plastic moulding. When your kid plays the toy, there's a chance the gate will come off frequently. The bundled plane needs 3 AAA battery and the infra-red remote uses 3 AAA too. Be prepared to use rechargeable or get more batteries if your child plays it frequently. Playing ------- The remote is fairly easy for a kid to handle. It only has 2 buttons, one to start the plane moving on the track, the other to stop the plane moving on the track. The plane itself has a red button (with light) to on or off it. My younger two year old is able to handle the plane and remote. The sound given off by the remote when the buttons are pressed is loud and clear, simulating the airplane flying and slowing down. It's quite fun at first to see the plane going up the track and suddenly rolling down. Your kid may also like lifting the pilot up the control tower. But without extending the track by getting add-ons or buying more planes, kids may find the toy boring after a while. Recommendation -------------- I see value for money for this toy since there is a remote control and most kids will get to learn something extra. Oh, and it comes with a free DVD (each series is pretty short though). But the plastic moulding could be more precise to make the toy easier to setup and maintain. great toy! My 3 year old loves it. It gives more excitement than just having trains. This is our first Geotrax/GeoAir Product we own.
My brother bought this toy for my son's 3rd birthday - we put it together easily, it wasn't difficult to assemble at all. When my son woke up and found it, he immediately figured out to push the "green" button on the remote to make it go, and the "red" button to make it stop. He loves playing with it, and the ease of use makes it very fun for him. Educationally he was using the concepts, up and down, twis around, colors, and fine motor skills to push the buttons.
The only downside is the airplane is "slightly" hard to push down on the tracks, but I think after a few days he'll get it.
All in all I think this is a fantastic toy and I highly recommend it. I think my son has some more "Geo" items in hs future!
My 4 yr old son saw this on a commercial and wanted it and to him it was no disappointment - he loves it. He plays with it constantly and I have to admit it is kind of cool and really added something special to his existing set. It just isnt made as durable as I would have liked and it doesnt actually hook up to his existing tract - you probably need the barn or the bridge for that. I wouldnt say that its worth [...] as it just doesnt seem like its made all that well, but if you ask my son he'd say its worth twice that. So you have to look at it through the eyes of the young. My 2 boys aged 2 and 4 love all of their Geotrax trains, planes and helicopters. This airport teaches a new task of attaching the airplane to the track and controlling the flying in all sorts of directions, including upside down. We love the realistic sounds and durability of the Geotrax system. Both boys learned quickly how to use it correctly including putting the tracks together and of course taking them apart. We like the airport better than the previous airport, that we also have, but miss having a helicopter. My boys also love the Geotrax movies,a little silly but a good teamwork message is taught in them. Kids' imaginations can reach for the skies as they create their very own GeoTrax world. The GeoAir High Flyin' Airport brings an all-new way to expand the GeoTrax world. With so many ways to play, this set includes a main tower with a kid-activated elevator, three bays where the plane can fuel up, fix up and board passengers, a security gate and drop-off platform, and the most "elite" team in all of GeoTown -- Eagle 1 R/C jet plane and his pilot Captain Wright. The pilot figure can sit and ride right inside the plane.GeoAir R/C planes simply clip onto the flexible GeoAir track and fly around the entire set, doing loops, swoops and daredevil dives. Activate the plane and sound effects using the easy-to-operate kid controls on the new R/C controller. With this set, connect the nine included pieces to form ten feet of GeoAir track; then attach it to the tower and runway to form a "figure nine." You can expand your GeoAir set in two ways: connect the GeoAir track to another GeoAir site, or connect the GeoTrax ground track to the entire GeoTrax rail and road world. Additional GeoAir sets sold separately. Requires six "AAA" batteries, not included. Measures 36"L x 15"W x 33"H. Jumbo, Captain Jim, and the Fisher-Price GeoTrax Rail and Road System GeoAir High Flying Airport let any child explore the fast paced world of flight. As a stand-alone set or a complement to other GeoTrax systems, this airport set is sure to inspire tons of imaginary play. Designed for kids aged two-and-one-half years of age or older, this set snaps together securely. and the components are easy for little fingers to handle. | What We Think Fun Factor:

The remote control fits perfectly in little hands. View Larger. | High-Flying Fun Getting ready for your child's first flight couldn't be easier. With slide-lock air track pieces that are simple to put together, assembly only takes a few minutes. Kids are sure to be impressed by the bright colors and the twisting track right away. Before take-off you'll need to use a Philips head screwdriver to install six AAA batteries (not included) -- three in Jumbo the jet and three in the remote control. Then snap Jumbo onto the track and set him in motion. The remote control has two buttons, so kids can set Jumbo spinning forward or backward on the air track loop. Designed to be easy for kids to grasp with two hands, the controller is shaped like a real plane's controller for increased fun. Durable, Colorful, and Easy-to-Expand It's easy to see why the GeoTrax system is a big hit with both parents and kids. A durable, colorful set that promises to jump-start active imaginations, the High Flyin' Airport offers stations around the base of the tower to inspire adventures below the air track. Kids can fill up a gas tank, set stairs for passengers to board a plane, or keep an eye on the security gate. The Pilot Jim figure can sit inside the Jumbo plane, ride the moving elevator to the top of the control tower, or wait for a train ride home. And the plane itself can be pushed along or driven with the remote control, providing lots of options for creative play. When friends, siblings, and parents want to get involved in the action, they may be disappointed that this set only includes one vehicle and one figure. But since the airport is compatible with other sets in the GeoTrax system, you can expand it to create a whole GeoTrax community with more vehicles, figures, and places for them to visit. Whether you have one set or many, GeoTrax offer a great opportunity for future pilots and engineers to play alone or cooperatively. What's in the Box Main tower, terminal base, traffic control top, loading station, air track with tabs, air track with support, four standard air track pieces, security gate, trestle base, trestle post, remote control, Jumbo jet, and pilot Jim figure.

(This is for older kids or collectors only)
(I have the whole fleet)
(FUN FOR KIDS OF ALL AGES)
(oh my god the BEST) We had purchased the Apache version before this and that gave way within a few days of use. Ordered a set of these colored ones, and they seem to be made of a slightly different material, but they are a lot more sturdy and durable. My son's been playing with this set for 2 weeks now and we both love it!
Still haven't been able to entirely figure out how to maneuver it correctly, but after reading the other reviews here, I think I'll try a few things to make it work right. I might order another set for myself coz my son won't let me near this one (but then of course, he's gonna want that one too)! My two boys played with the helicopters and they flew around the house and crashed into everything and were broken within only a few days. I saw them and didn't think they were overly hard on the toys but they were difficult to handle and did not sustain the crashes into the walls and floor very well. I would not buy anything like this again unless it was for a serious child with a serious collection that would take time from other collectors to sup up the helio so it would actually function. I have the whole fleet, and have been playing with them on and off over the past 3 years. Now my grandson asked Santa for one. So being a good grandpa I got him two.... When one runs out of gas, he can fire up the other, by time it's out of gas the first will be charged and ready to go. I have a blast buzzing grandma, and the doggies! I've flown real helicopters in my lifetime, and these are easier to fly and no threat of life and limb, unless a rotter blade got ya in the eye or something.... I've got them stuck in the doggies fur once or twice though. OOPS! Gotta get the tweezer and clean the hairs out or it will make them fly funny! These are really durable too, they can take allot of wall crashes or fall from the ceiling onto the floor and their good to go again and again. I can see me and the grandson angage in mid air warfare soon.... hehehe!!! ya, eat my dust junior, and grandma, and the doggies better run for cover! We purchased one of these for both my Son and my Daughter. They both love it. They have flown them for countless hours. Some people may say that you can't control them but you can control them very well with some practice if you have them adjusted correctly. It charges right from the controller within about 20 minutes. The batteries seem to last quite some time as well. Each time you charge the Helicopter it will fly for about 15 minutes. These are well worth the price because they are so much fun for kids. However keep in mind that these are very lightweight and won't last forever. The rotor blades are made of lightweight plastic and are easily broken so you must handle them gently. This copter is fun and durable of corse its not as easy to fly as the commercial would make you believe but its still the best rc helicopter for the money mine worked for a year before the battery wore out but my sisters is still working. BUY THIS HELICOPTER (You wont regret it) The incredibly small Micro RC Helicopter is the Smallest and Lightest Micro R/C Helicopter in the World! It is similar to the Picco Z helicopter. customer 's review (It drives UPSIDE DOWN on the ceiling!!! HOW COOL IS THAT?)
(Waste of $$)
(Eats batteries like crazy!) This has got to be the coolest Toy Invention in a very long time! This is an awesome amazing toy that will leave you&your kids WOWed!! While the battery life could be longer, it dies out just when you'd had enough of the noise that comes along with it. I mean seriously parents - do you really want your kid racing this car around the walls and ceilings while your watching tv, doing the laundry, cooking dinner? For 20 minutes it's great and then after that you're happy for the battery to recharge until next time. This is a GENIUS invention&is sure to be a HOT TOY for years to come! My 7 year old got this for his birthday. The first one didn't work at all other than making a horrible noise. The second one broke almost immediately. Battery life extremely low and it falls off the wall when the charge runs out. Don't waste your money on this one. We got this in the mail, and my son couldn't wait to use it. He charged it up, and turned it on. IT IS SUPER LOUD. Louder than a vacuum and the tv on at the same time. The only thing that saved it from being thrown out was the light on my son and his best friends face when it actually stuck to the wall and zoomed past me. However, another downfall was the battery life. It is pretty much non-existent. He can only get a few good runs out of it before it dies, and when it DOES die, it literally just drops off the wall wherever it's at. Indoor R/C racing has never seen anything quite like this. This zero-gravity micro racer is a full-function R/C car that knows no difference between the floor, the walls and the ceiling! It races right-side up, upside-down, and any other smooth surface, all with outstanding scale speed and performance. Working headlights act as charge level indicators, so you know when it's time to recharge.Car comes with two power settings - floor mode with venture fan off, and suction mode for vertical and upside-down action. Includes four different frequencies so you can race against your friends. Requires 1 rechargeable LiPo battery (included) and 6 "AA" batteries (not included). Measures 4.75"L x 2.5"W x 1.25"H. Colors may vary from image shown. Forget those remote control cars that just scoot across the ground! These Air Hogs Zero Gravity Micro cars moves in three dimensions -- across the ground, up the wall, and even upside down on the ceiling! By using a specially designed suction device, the car can climb a wall and maneuver just as it does on the ground.

 | What We Think Fun Factor:
Durability:
(what this means)
The Good:Car can drive up walls; includes rechargeable battery
The Bad:Car is a bit fragile; slightly loud; limited wireless range
In a Nutshell:Car can do everything it advertises, but all the conditions must be met | At a Glance Ages:8 and up Requires:6 AA batteries for remote, clean surface
| |
| Smart, Innovative Design Air Hogs makes the only cars that can climb walls, and the Zero Gravity Micro is smaller and faster than the original Air Hogs Zero Gravity Humvee. We were surprised by how small and light the Zero Gravity Micro is; it is basically a thin plastic shell wrapped around a light body with a vacuum in it. Our car was designed to look like a red race car, but you can choose from other designs available as well.We were able to get the Zero Gravity Micro up and running without any problems. The remote control unit needs six AA batteries (not included), and is then used to charge the built-in rechargeable battery in the car. This is done by connecting a cable from the remote control to the car, and flipping the switch to charge mode. Thanks to smart design, this cable can be stowed and hidden away when not being used. After about half an hour for charging, the car was ready to go. Right away, we set the car to wall climbing mode and set it on our wall. Though we'd read about what it was supposed to do, we were still very impressed when we saw the car stick to the wall and climb. You can see the vacuum working, as there is a window on the top of the car showing a spinning fan. The car makes quite a bit of sound when it is in wall mode. Using the remote, we were able to make the car go up, turn left and right, and go down as well. With a tight turning radius, the car is very maneuverable and with some practice, you can get the car to do exactly as you wish. In addition to Wall mode, there is also a Ground mode which leaves the fan/vacuum off, and lets you drive full function on the ground. You need to walk around with the car, however, as the remote has limited range. This is not as big a concern on walls because we were usually pretty close to the wall as the car was climbing it. The car has working headlights that double as a battery indicator--when they start to blink, the car is running low on power. Needs Clean, Smooth Surface The instructions warn that the car should be played only on a clean, smooth surface, and they're not kidding. Since the car is able to stay on walls due to suction, the moment an inconsistency is introduced, the car loses suction and falls off. We found that a surface like glass works very well. With our concrete wall, we often ran into problems with the car maintaining its suction. Coupled with the car's light construction, we fear that repeated abuse could cause damage to it. Overall, we found the Air Hogs Zero Gravity Micro to be an innovative and fun toy. We wished it were a bit more hefty and could work on more surfaces, but when we got it going on our window, we were very impressed. It's a great new idea and twist on an old toy, and is bound to keep children mesmerized. What's in the Box AirHogs car, remote control unit, instructions.

(Lots of Fun)
(Air Hocs are great fun)
(Fun but delicate)
(Great fun, but fragile.) These helicopters were a ton of fun..for about an hour before they broke. The are very fragile and difficult to manuver. That makes for a bad combination. My kids went from being really excited to completely disappointed. Not the easiest thing to fly and they do kind of have a mind of their own but a ton of fun. You definitely need a large room (preferably with high ceilings) to get the best out of them. Great toy for both little and big kids. My pre-teen boys have had a blast with these toys! It's not often you can find really fun toys for boys 8&11. These hit the mark. The tail blade is a bit weak, but if the company will replace that we'll be fine (we haven't asked yet). These really develop a boy's eye-hand coordination - or for that matter, even his mom's! They damage very easily, even with care, but they are great fun. If you want a toy everyone will love but will not outlast the excitement (i.e. break or get sloppy in flight before boredom sets in) this is the toy for you. Given how delicate they are, they are kind of pricey. 5 stars for fun; 1 for durability; net 3 overall. I bought this for my 2 nephews to play with. But one helicopter just did not work right out of the box. Only one did and they had a lot of fun with it, but just weren't able to 'fight' each other as advertised. These are quite fragile and the other one kept breaking as well. Great fun when works. Get it if you get a good deal but buy it from a store so you can return it easily if it just doesn't work out of the box. Havoc Heli is the world's smallest, most advanced radio-controlled helicopter capable of incredible maneuverability. Laser Battle Helis are armed with infrared beam weapons, so you can duel in a kind of exciting real-world 3D "video game" complete with authentic battle sounds and action! Laser Battle comes complete with two Havoc Helis (each with distinctive markings) and two wireless controllers/chargers (with radio channel selector). You have two-toggle, four-way directional control of dual-rotary blades and a tail rotor fly up, down, left, right, forward, back or hover with amazing precision. You'll need it to survive! Havoc Helis are rated "EasyTo Fly," which means with a little practice, anyone can pilot these like a pro. If you enjoy the fun of radio-controlled vehicles, but don’t always want to leave the comfort of your couch to go outside and play, check out these Air Hogs Havoc Helicopters. Measuring a mere six inches long and weighing only a half pound, these small but mighty choppers are made for indoor dueling -- so you don’t have to quit flying just because of bad weather or a dark sky. A crash-resistant foam fuselage means you can perfect your piloting skills using the dual-toggle, single-throttle wireless controller. The twin drive props in back and dual rotors on top provide exceptional stability and precise six-way directional control -- up, down, left, right, forward, and back. Sled-style landing gear means set-downs should be gentle, too. | | The tiny flier fits easily in the palm of your hand. | Not just for meant flying solo, the Havoc copters are designed for fun with others. In what is almost like a live video game, each helicopter uses its infrared beam weapons to engage in a mid-air battle against the other. The first pilot to hit his opponent three times with the beam (complete with battle sounds) will be victorious as the enemy heads into a wild tailspin. Six AA batteries are required, but not included, for the remote controls. The helicopters are powered by rechargeable lithium batteries, and the charger comes with the set.
