(Does not work well) 『Having 2 young boys we have been into Thomas for quite some time over a 4 year span. This was about the 4th battery powered engine I have bought for them. The other ones have been durable and fun to play with and the batteries last for quite sometime.
This one has a very sticky on button which is so tight my 4 year old can not even turn it on. Not much fun for him.』
(Great toy, doesn't last) 『I got this toy for my 2 year old son. He loved it for about 2 weeks. Many complain about the noise it makes, but I felt it was a train and should make some noise, that's what trains do. Others complain that it sucks up batteries. My response was to get rechargeable ones so that I wouldn't go through them every day. I saw complaints about the inability to use the push option on the train. If you turn the power button off, it rolls fine. Some people even complain that it detracts from the child's imagination. We had 2 Thomas trains and when we felt he needed to push the trains instead of watching it, we just took out the battery or gave him the other one to play with. However, if you have a child that does not know how to take care of his toys and it gets a little beat up, it won't last. Physically it's fine (the body is made out of metal and is very durable), however, it stopped working after 2 weeks of getting thrown about a bit. Now it is just a $20 push train. Too bad, he really liked it for a while. Maybe when he is older.』
(Various Issues...) 『As others eluded to, it states that you can switch into a freewheeling mode, but even following the directions on the Learning Curve website's FAQ page, 2 of these did not work. I returned the first one after speaking with Learning Curve. They told me that if it won't freewheel, then it is defective and to return it. Replacement unit did the same thing, click every time I push it.
Some off-brand wooden track also is not very compatible with this train. I had some Imaginarium track, and the grooves in the track are about a millimeter narrower than the Thomas and Brio track. Battery-Powered Thomas doesn't quite fit with all wheels in the grooves, so it derails on this track constantly.
I have had pretty good luck eliminating other derailments of this train (with Brio and Thomas track) by using SureTrack clips on areas of my layouts that tend to not stay very straight. These clips are pricey, but they help avoid a lot of frustration when a toddler is destroying the track layouts with every other push of a train. I bought 1 box, which is enough to keep key pieces aligned on most layouts.
Overall, it has been fun for the few days we have had it, but I am very disappointed that it won't enter free-wheeling mode. I guess I will have to buy the wooden Thomas now as well.』 『

The boat responds fluidly to the controller, making quick,sharp turns. It even makes a wake. It is relatively quiet for running on lakes surrounded by residences. Recharging takes 5 hours which allows approx. 12 minutes run-time. I hope to buy a second battery pack. A catalog comes with the boat. You may want to secure the antenna better as mine loosened. Grasp your remote tightly because everyone, young or mature, male or female will want to try running it. 』

When I first tossed this in the water I was very impressed with the speed but my I was totally sold watching how quickly it turned. This has the tightest turning radius of any of my boats and is the most fun to run.
One precautionary note: I had a collision right of the bat when testing this against a friend's boat and it knocked the battery loose. The shape of the batter is different than all my other boats and it seems top heavy. There may be one cargo bay door that is slightly off when he closed it now, but everything is still intact. I highly recommend this toy. It covers many ages/phases of play.』

Getting Ready for Your First Mission Since part of the fun is in thinking up ways to build a spacecraft from the many different parts, this Mega Rig set is ready to go without any difficult or time-consuming set-up. The set includes simple, illustrated instructions that will help you and your child build a large space shuttle with an exterior fuel tank and an all-terrain vehicle base that can be used as a launching site. The instructions include photos of other possible configurations and illustrations showing important details such as how to launch missiles, lock the shuttle's arm in place for space walks, and the many ways to combine Mega Rig wheels.
The UFO included in this set features other-worldly lights and sound, and it is powered by three button-cell batteries (AG13/LR44). Test batteries are included, but you will want to purchase another set just in case. Galactic Exploration Once a spaceship has been assembled, there are plenty of missions your child can accomplish. Between launching the satellite into orbit and coordinating an exploratory space walk, your child will be busy watching out for missiles shot from the UFO with its alien inside. The durable octagon shaped connectors hold pieces of each space craft together until they are pulled apart on purpose.
Our favorite configurations included snapping the bright orange all-terrain wheels onto the shuttle or UFO for land adventures, combining the shuttle and the fuel cell into one gigantic space ship, and loading the launch pad with accessories to create a headquarters for operations on distant moons and planets.
Other cool features include a space arm controlled by a lever, an oversized astro grabber for moving equipment or keeping the alien at bay, and plenty of fun compartments for the astronaut and alien to hide in. Your child will surely want to take this shuttle everywhere, but with so many small parts to keep track of, traveling with this set can require extra attention to detail.
Long-Lasting Imaginative Play The sturdy plastic shuttle and its accessories held up well throughout our vigorous test missions, and the Mega Rig building systems are known for their durability. The moving parts and hinged compartments that make this shuttle so much fun could potentially come apart with lots of rough play, but we found the system to be extremely durable.
With the alien and the astronaut ready to be your friend or enemy, and the ability to make more than one vehicle at the same time, this building system is great for cooperative play or a single child with an active imagination. The ability to combine and recombine parts in so many ways offers a new experience every time your child picks up a piece of this shuttle system, so the fun never runs out.

It was a little smaller than I expected, but pretty easy to put together (for me). Once I did it, I was able to remember and do it without the directions. It will take my son longer to get it, but he has fun helping me put it together and take it apart. One reviewer said that he had trouble keeping the "smokestacks" in place, and that is absolutely true for us, too. I just put them aside so they don't get lost and son does not mind. All in all, good purchase, and worth the money.』

This building set does not disappoint. My son is 3-1/2 and after I showed him one time, he could put Mack together by himself and even hunt for the right pieces among the other two Megabloks Cars sets which are all in the same bin.
Once assembled, McQueen and Mack are both sturdy enough for normal play. It is obvious that Megabloks worked hard to design and produce these Cars sets to be as authentic as possible.
